What can I say, as perfect as on day 1. Almost 30 years, who can still do that today... Keep it up!!!

I really love it here. The service is always super friendly. I don't want to sound like a Karen, but we ordered curly fries and the portion was smaller than usual. Otherwise, everything was really great.

A very cozy place to eat. American-style. We initially thought it was very small, but it turned out to be quite large, even though it wasn't visible from the road. Behind it was a covered area with plenty of picnic tables. The food was served quickly and was tasty, but not exceptional. The service was also very friendly.

It wasn't really what I expected. An American-style ambiance isn't enough to truly be a good burger restaurant. The burgers were mediocre, and the coleslaw was from a bucket.

A very popular diner. First time visit, spontaneous without reservation. Waitress patient, friendly and good. I had very good chocolate milkshake and a bbq burger. Burger was good but not wow. My husband had ribs, which he really enjoyed. Sides are extra. An all round good experience. Will definitely go again.

We went to the Roadstop in Essen on a Friday evening. It would have been difficult without a table reservation, so a reservation is essential here. The service was excellent, attentive, friendly, and well-organized! The food was fantastic, the ribs were tender, and the wings were cooked to perfection. The value for money was absolutely perfect, especially since the portions were generous. We would gladly come back anytime.

Everything was excellent; friendly staff, delicious coffee and food, fair prices, and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, they don't open until 12 p.m.

Even when it's busy, the service remains relaxed and well-organized. The location (whether in Essen or Dortmund) is great – there's plenty of parking 🚗, and even larger groups can be accommodated. In conclusion: The Road Stop isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Great location, delicious food, fair prices, and a touch of America in the heart of the Ruhr region. After a long night of partying with lots of throat slitting, the food was great to get fit again.

First visit, a direct hit. Service was first-class, very polite, and above all, well-organized. The food (ribs with baked potatoes and sour cream) was simply perfect. I've rarely eaten such good ribs. The ambiance was naturally American-style, with a cool bar, a great pinball machine, and the decor is top-notch. During my visit, the place was busy and a bit noisy in places, making quiet conversation difficult at times, but thanks to the atmosphere, it hardly bothered me. Very clean outdoor area with plenty of seating and a small playground for the kids if it gets too boring inside. It won't be my last visit.

The spare ribs, with their Asian-flavored glaze, are a disgrace if you're expecting barbecue spare ribs. The rest is, as expected, convenience quality. The completely rotten and partially broken benches outside are extremely uncomfortable. The children's play structure is in better condition than the benches. The wood there is top-notch.

The ambiance is authentic and harmonious. Service was abrupt, the wrong drink was served, the wrong food was served, and no one even asked if everything was okay. The fries were delicious, but the burger was unfortunately completely dry and grilled to death.

We picked up food there earlier. So far everything was ok. Only the burger or the meat was old and probably from the lecture. So the burgers for pickup are not recommended.

The food is solid but nothing special; the burgers are standard, nothing special. The ribs are very thin and not juicy. The service is friendly and attentive. The location itself is cool, but I would suggest tweaking the menu after all these years and adding something new to maintain that American spirit.

Unfortunately, our steak was very rare and riddled with tendons. Everything else was fine. Still a shame. The same thing happened at the next table. He only told us, but we didn't. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a table outside, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The service was truly fantastic! Super friendly, attentive, and with a great sense of humor. You feel completely at home as a guest and would definitely come back! I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Route 66 in the decor, but more like B224 in the kitchen. The place looks like Elvis is about to step out of the toilet. It's visually stunning, with a diner atmosphere, rustic and stylish. But if you're expecting more from the food than pre-cooked spare ribs, frozen goods, and canned salad, you'd better leave your hopes at the pickup truck. The taste is okay, but nothing you can't make at home with an air fryer and a Metro pass. The spare ribs? Juicy, yes, but prepared like they're prepared for a commercial kitchen. Service? Nice. But as soon as the first drink runs out, you feel like a cowboy without water. Nothing else comes for a long time. You have to wave like at bingo night until someone comes by. Conclusion: Plus points for the look. The food is rather disappointing. Anyone who wants to enjoy the atmosphere without paying too much attention to their plate will be happy here. But the Sheriff says: For that money, I expect more than warmed-up convenience food and a few jalapeños for distraction.

The ambiance is the same as it was 20 years ago. It still looks okay, though. The service was really good, but that doesn't change the fact that the food is terrible. They serve frozen and convenience foods. In an age of owner-operated burger joints that boast homemade fries and locally sourced meats, this is completely out of date. And too expensive for the "quality." My daughter threw up after the visit...I wouldn't recommend it to any burger fan!!!

Today was my first time eating at Road Stop – and definitely not the last! We started with the large mixed starter platter, followed by the Roadstop XXL Burger with fries. Both were delicious and freshly prepared. The staff has been there for over 30 years and are still friendly, attentive, and dedicated – you can tell right away. We were lucky to get a table, so my tip: make a reservation in advance! The drinks arrived quickly, and there's parking right next door and more across the street. I was particularly impressed by the interior – designed with so much attention to detail that you immediately feel at home. I highly recommend it!

Aside from the truly excellent food, the service was particularly impressive. Orders are taken in the traditional way on paper, and drinks and food are brought to the table quickly. The food is fresh and hot. The staff are generally very well-organized, attentive, and cheerful.

The food is delicious, but the parking situation is a complete disaster!!! The guests spread out with their cars and just take up two spaces. If you were lucky enough to get a parking space and go in, you will quickly notice that you can hardly understand your own words because there are too many people sitting in a small space and the music is turned up so loudly as if you were at a festival... Super loud inside, but the outside area is great! Small playground and a more relaxed environment. I prefer to go to the road stop in Mettmann, there are plenty of well-marked parking spaces, a quieter atmosphere and also great food

Excellent place with great finger food and an amazing atmosphere. (Rarely give five stars. So actually four stars is my top category). We loved it as a family and we hope to be back soon.

During my visit to the restaurant I chose a steak with wedges and a corn on the cob. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet my expectations. The wedges were very soggy on the inside and gave the impression of not being fully cooked in places - which significantly affected the enjoyment. The steak was ordered medium, but came to the plate clearly overcooked and had little in common with the desired doneness in terms of texture and taste. The corn cob also had defects - some areas were burned, which had a negative impact on the aroma. I would like to emphasize that the service was friendly and the atmosphere was generally pleasant, but in my opinion there is still room for improvement in the kitchen - especially in the preparation and quality control of the food.

We have been here several times and have always been satisfied. You don't get anything out of the ordinary here. Spare ribs, burgers, wings, fries and coleslaw. But here you can get these things in good quality and quantity. The ribs are well cooked and almost fall off the bone, and the meat on the burgers also tastes very good. Small note: for some reason the sweet potato fries are declared as an appetizer and not as a side dish. On weekends, I recommend making a reservation in advance despite the store's size.

The menu was initially a bit confusing due to the modular principle, but after a short introduction it turned out to be well structured. The food, the deciding factor, was excellent. Despite the high occupancy, the waiting time was pleasantly short. Although the prices are in the upper segment, the price-performance ratio is reasonable. A return visit is planned.

Reservations are recommended during peak hours—especially on weekends. Regarding the quality of the food: The dishes are probably not homemade, but at least they are well-cooked, deep-fried, and presented. Quite tasty. If you want a "handmade burger," this is the wrong place. There are much better places in Essen. But: the staff is great. I received the wrong bill and paid. The server then went to the playground on his own, apologized, and returned the money in cash.
