Family-friendly. A changing table is available. Upon entering, we were immediately offered a high chair. You can see the kitchen, and the food was very good.

We had a Swiss schnitzel and the "Japanese Symphony" here. Both were extremely delicious. I especially recommend the Symphony. The service was excellent and friendly. The restaurant has a very bright and welcoming feel. We will definitely come back.

The food is plentiful and delicious. Parking is available in front of the restaurant and on the street. I'm not giving it a 5* because there's no salad as a main course.

Very tasty food :) at fair prices. We received a very warm welcome. Small requests for changes to our chosen dish weren't a problem at all. Throughout the meal, we noticed that a waiter was constantly checking to see if everything was okay. There was even dessert and a house schnapps afterward. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We returned to this restaurant after a few years – this time with friends – and ordered the chef's platter. The food was outstanding: very tasty, freshly prepared, and plentiful. The staff deserves special mention – everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We were even served by several waiters at the same time, and everyone was excellent! The prices are also absolutely fair for the quality and quantity. We are completely satisfied and will definitely be back.

Good food, very good and courteous service

We celebrated my father's 90th birthday in March and my mother's 86th birthday there in August, and we can only say it was excellent. We were always greeted very warmly, had clean, beautifully set tables, and very friendly, attentive waiters. The appetizers were great, the salad fresh. The main course was plentiful and delicious; if you didn't want much, you could also get a senior's plate. We were all full and are still talking about how great it was. At the end, we had a small shot of schnapps, and the children received lollipops. My parents always received a glass of wine as a farewell, which is something...such a thank you. We'll be back. Two things aren't so good: the on-site parking and the restrooms. They're clean, but they've been there forever and are a bit dated. When the weather's nice, you can also go to the beer garden, which is conveniently located because you hardly hear anything from the street. So if you want to go out for a delicious meal, men want to be fed, the quality is right...then you've come to the right place 👍🏽

We attended a private family celebration at this restaurant. What I can definitely say is that the buffet was excellent, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and I will definitely be returning as a regular guest in the foreseeable future.

Very tasty food and good service

I ordered a medium-well-done steak at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the meat was completely tough and inedible. After complaining, I received a new steak – but this one was cooked all the way through, the exact opposite of what I had ordered. When I raised the issue again, I expected a professional solution or at least some understanding. Instead, an unpleasant situation arose: The manager of the restaurant started a loud argument in front of all the guests, including my party. Instead of acting in a customer-focused manner, the incident was played out in a public and unpleasant manner. A visit to a restaurant should be characterized by hospitality and good quality – unfortunately, I experienced the exact opposite here. Neither the preparation nor the handling of criticism was appropriate.

We celebrated a milestone birthday with 25 people at the Parkrestaurant Spindelmann. We had the appetizer and dessert served as a mini buffet, and the main course was à la carte. We really enjoyed it: the advice beforehand was professional. The food was wonderful, and the service attentive and friendly. Nothing was left to be desired. We'd love to come back :-)

We were there for a celebratory meal after a funeral service. Sandwiches and cake were served, as is customary at a celebratory meal. The staff was very friendly, and the food served was delicious.

We were in this Parkrestaurant Spindelmann for the first time after it was taken over by the current owner (previously in Velbert). From the greeting to the farewell, we were very impressed by the food, its quality and the politeness and friendliness of not only the boss, but the entire service staff. We'll be back.

We eat at Spindelmann once or twice a month. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The service is top-notch. Everyone is very nice and friendly, and they pay attention to everything. We can recommend this restaurant without hesitation. We always enjoy coming back for dinner. In April, we had our first company party at Spindelmann. The buffet was fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed it. There was a huge selection. The ambiance is also great. We will definitely come back for another company party.

So the current asparagus plate (my visit on April 19th, 2025) with rump steak is out of this world! Never, I'm not exaggerating, have eaten something so delicious! The asparagus, white, super tender (yet with a bite), thick... fantastic! The rump steak with a really sensational seasoning! We were personally greeted by the owner with a handshake! Service 1A, fast, nice, reserved... simply PERFECT! This is another “old class” restaurant that is becoming increasingly rare!

Between nostalgia and modern cuisine? We went to the Spindelmann restaurant with the family once again. Across the board, young and old, most people agree that you can get good food here for normal prices and that the service is friendly and quick. One should not expect any new innovations in international or Balkan cuisine. According to the motto, what worked for the last few years still works today. The food has the necessary quality, even if I personally wouldn't offer canned peas and carrots or corn in salads. Even the nostalgic orange slices have actually had their day, but the food is still tasty. The Djuvec rice is convincing and the Ajvar is also well quenched. The family is usually happy and always likes to come back…

The restaurant is always very good. For larger celebrations (birthdays/funerals) and even if I just want good and tasty food, Spindelmann is my choice. The food is always excellent and the service is absolutely attentive and yet discreet. I've known the restaurant for decades. I have always been very satisfied with the respective operators and that has not changed to this day. A big compliment for that. Unfortunately, there are no longer that many restaurants in Essen that are recommended for small and large events. But I would be Spindleman at any time book again. Thanks to the entire team. 👍

Great home cooking with seasonal dishes. Although I was tempted by the duck leg with red cabbage and dumplings, I decided on the Cordon Bleu (€19.90). My personal insider tip: use the delicious spaetzle instead of the fries. On top of that, to make it a little juicier, order the tasty steak sauce (€3.50) on top. A cool Stauder (€3.30) as a drink is always possible. The extensive side dishes in the form of vegetables and spaetzle were particularly brilliant, which really fills up a man. Really great!!! Please continue like this!!! All in all a perfect price-performance ratio with nice service.

Good food at reasonable prices. Friendly attentive service. Full and satisfied, we headed home. Today 'Christmas dinner' with our group. Starters from champions to curry coconut soup. Then from the rump steak, to the farmer's pan, to the 'Damenschnitzel'... Everyone is more than happy and full. Service as always polite and attentive. Back on site in three days and full of anticipation.

Now it's just mediocre. Especially for guests who don't eat pork. Ordered a skewer today and asked to serve a turkey steak instead of the pork medallion. One turkey steak was good and the beef was unfortunately well done. The other piece of turkey was bone dry and sprinkled with a Mediterranean seasoning. I would almost have to assume that it belonged to another dish. Given the prices, you don't have to worry about that. Being served food after almost 20 minutes when the restaurant is full is not a sign of fresh cuisine. Served decoratively is probably not that important, just mediocre.

My uncle bit on it and has had a toothache ever since. -This was reported to staff twice. Answer, I tell the boss. Nothing came from the operator until we left the restaurant. Conclusion. No more spindle man... P.s. I will report the screw action to the health department...

Normally everything is good, but recently it was too full or busy and too loud. A conversation with table partners was not possible. The service was discontinued from 11 p.m.

The usual Croatian cuisine with meat, meat and meat. Even the salads contain meat rolls or poultry. Okay, there were also 2 vegetarian, or were they even vegan, dishes. We were also able to take a look at one of these masterpieces, a wonderful selection of frozen vegetables called a vegetable plate (luckily we hadn't ordered it). That didn't really leave me wanting more. We were told about the second dish, the veggie burger, with very little enthusiasm. The whole thing in an ambience that can easily keep up with the Oktoberfest in terms of noise, accompanied by the performances of a loud duo of musicians and their unfortunate string instruments. Be that as it may, if you like a lot of meat, sometimes too dry, mediocre fries, ready-made sauces, frozen vegetables and perhaps don't hear well anymore, you're in good hands here, but if you want to eat well and comfortably, not so much. 2 points anyway because the staff was friendly and everything seemed quite clean.

We were there today with a group of 16 people to celebrate a family celebration. From the reservation to the end we felt completely comfortable. We were able to design our own little menu and the service was first class. All employees are friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. The timing of the orders was perfectly coordinated so that no one had to wait and we could dine together. We will hold every major celebration there again and again if possible and will also go out for a private meal there in the near future. If you want first-class service, good prices and extremely delicious food, the Parkrestaurant Spindelmann is the right place for you.

We went there for dinner for the first time on 10/2/24. The guest room was clean and comfortable. The service was nice and courteous. The food was tasty and plentiful. We spent very pleasant hours there. Even my companions from outside found it comfortable and recommended. The price was appropriate for the amount of food and drinks. Conclusion: we'll be back.
