Ristorante Basilico in Überlingen

The food was very good, the service was very friendly and attentive, but we had to wait a very long time for the main course after the appetizer (well over half an hour).

This was probably the worst pizza we've ever eaten. I don't understand the good reviews. The pizza was completely soggy and tasteless. We tried a slice and didn't finish it, so we sent the whole thing back. When we complained to the staff, they only offered an apology. Not even a complimentary espresso! What a shame. This is no way to treat customers.

The food was delicious and fresh, but the staff was completely overwhelmed, especially considering the restaurant was only about 30% full. Waiting almost an hour with small children is unacceptable! Once you finish your first drink, there's no way you'll get a server at your table! What a shame...

Very tasty and highly recommended - it's advisable not to go too late as it gets very crowded.

High quality food and excellent service

We wanted to go out for dinner on September 19, 2025. We searched the internet for reviews of pizzerias in Überlingen. We found Basilico to be a good fit; the website listed opening hours until 11 p.m. When we arrived, there was a note on the door saying the restaurant would be closed from September 19 to 26. Apparently, the owner didn't realize that we've already arrived in the 21st century and that most information can be found online. What a shame.

A truly wonderful family business. We've been coming here for several years and the food and drinks are excellent every time. The atmosphere is very cozy, and you always feel welcome. We love it.

Very tasty pizza. I ordered it for pickup. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, it was a bit small, so I didn't really feel full. The staff was friendly.

The food is great; I haven't had such good pizza in a long time. The salads are also very good. The service is friendly and uncomplicated. The prices are very fair. A visit is a must if you're in the area.

Good, fresh food, friendly service. Parking is a bit limited, but you should make a reservation and look for a spot early. It's beautifully located away from the hustle and bustle of the lake and offers a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere.

Eating here is an absolute must. I've never had pizza like this anywhere else. The surrounding area is also absolutely fantastic. Keep it up.

A bit inconspicuously located but the food and service were great.

There is ample parking directly at the restaurant. There were five of us (three adults plus two children) there for lunch and we were given a quiet, shady seat outside. The service (Sophie?) was very friendly and competent. Our drinks were brought to our table promptly. The food arrived within normal time, but everyone was seated at the same time. The pizzas tasted unique and the crust was crispy. The toppings were generous and delicious. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was delicious. The value for money is right for the good quality of the food. We definitely recommend it (to others) and will be back.

I was there recently on vacation. Always nice to eat simply good, traditional Italian food. I loved the bruschetta. The bread with the salad was also warm and delicious. The service was always friendly and prompt, and we didn't have to wait long. The panna cotta could be improved, but the rest is top-notch! As a local, highly recommended :)

Very tasty food and excellent service. The dishes are fresh and attractively presented, and the portions are generous. However, I wouldn't give it full marks because the prices are on the high side. This is probably due to the Lake Constance region. However, if you're happy with a pizza or a standard pasta dish and don't order the daily special, it's still within reason.

Cozy, high-class location away from the ordinary.

We booked 4 seats in the restaurant online and it worked spontaneously. We were greeted there by a tall, nice, competent waiter.  This waiter knows exactly what he is talking about and you immediately feel like you are in Bella Italia. Great atmosphere in the restaurant...We felt very comfortable. The food is of excellent quality.  High-quality products are processed here. I really enjoyed the pasta carbonara...the portion size could have been a little larger. The pasta with 3 different shrimps and green asparagus was the highlight.  This was the best pasta we have eaten at an Italian restaurant in Germany in recent years.  Chapeau... The salad was very tasty...maybe a touch more herbs...but otherwise great. You eat here like in Italy.  And hospitality is celebrated here. Conclusion: price-performance ratio absolutely top. We'll definitely be back. And will recommend this restaurant. Keep it up.

Wir haben 4 Plätze im Restaurant online gebucht und es hat spontan geklappt.  Wir wurden dort von einem großen,  netten, kompetenten Kellner empfangen.  Dieser Kellner weiß genau von was er spricht und man fühlt sich sofort wie in Bella Italia. Tolles Ambiente im Restaurant...Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Speisen sind von hervorragender Qualität.  Hier werden hochwertige Produkte verarbeitet. Die Pasta Carbonara hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt...die Portionsgrösse könnte noch ein wenig größer sein. Die Pasta mit 3 verschiedenen Garnelen und grünem Spargel war das Highlight.  Das war die beste Pasta die wir in den letzten Jahren in Deutschland bei einem Italiener gegessen haben.  Chapeau... Der Salat war sehr lecker...vielleicht noch ein Hauch mehr Kräuter...aber sonst top. Man isst hier wie in Italien.  Und Gastfreundschaft wird hier zelebriert. Fazit: Preisleistungsverhältniss absolut top. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder. Und werden dieses Restaurant weiterempfehlen. Macht weiter so.

My god that was delicious! We were here by chance and were lucky to get a table - which speaks for the restaurant. We weren't disappointed! The pizza was delicious, as was the pasta, and our child liked it too. Side note: the staff was super friendly to our offspring, which unfortunately isn't the case everywhere... We were very satisfied and would love to come back!

Update: we were there again Dec 2024 and I can continue the review with 5 stars :) thanks for the hospitality and the good food We were passing through to our second home in March and called there spontaneously. We didn't look quite dressed for dinner because of the transit and now comes the big praise, we came with 2 small children and a school child, we were greeted very nicely and got a beautifully decorated place, the staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. The small but sweet atmosphere probably attracts a lot of people but everyone was treated kindly. The drinks came quickly. The food was very tasty, the kids raved about the pizza (they are actually very own :) ) and our food was fresh, hot and very, very tasty. There was a bedside table even after everything was plastered and the price performance was justified, a restaurant that deserves 5 stars. We'll definitely come again, even if it takes a while :)

Excellent Italian but also German cuisine. Friendly, professional and yet a family atmosphere. It's better to reserve on weekends. Unfortunately not directly on the lake but always a taste experience. The daily recommendation is usually exceptionally tasty. We always enjoy coming back.

It's been a long time since we've been to the Basilico and we were really impressed. It was already very good back then, but it felt like there was another improvement. My wife and I ordered pizza and were extremely impressed. The base was incredibly fluffy and baked beautifully. The toppings were extremely fresh and tasted great. We are really happy to have discovered this great restaurant again, because good Italian restaurants are really in short supply in the Überlingen area. Not to forget the great service. Everyone was really so courteous, friendly and competent. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening.

A bastion for years, service, food top. The Riva doesn't come close here, but neither do a number of others. It seems like the best chef and service has been here for years, at least for the last 16 years since I've been diving.

We wanted to end our last evening on Lake Constance with a delicious meal... I chose the RISTORANTE BASILICO for that. It was definitely the right choice......our meal: grilled salmon with grilled vegetables and pizza salami. Both dishes were A1 👍🏼......the service was also great and the terrace invites you to linger. We were very satisfied and can only give one recommendation. GOOD LUCK

We went to the restaurant for dinner today for the third day in a row because the kids really wanted to eat there again. Our waiter was super friendly. We went twice without a reservation and we were able to do so even though the restaurant was fully booked. Thank you for the hospitality. We would love to come back when we are nearby.

Very nice pizzeria away from the hustle and bustle. Very friendly, quick service and very good pizza. It wasn't very busy on Sunday in the summer season and we found a shady place outside. Average price. Mixed salad, for example, is too expensive for 6.80. But still like an insider tip.

Nothing special at a high price. A pizzeria that adorns itself with the name restaurant. The prices are on the upper level. Nothing special in terms of taste, no culinary art. It's a pizzeria in an old building. Parking spaces are free and a few are available. Staff is friendly. The portions are really meager. I had a pasta dish with penne and for €15 I expected more than two handfuls. I know something like this as a children's portion. Even the children's portions were just a coffee cup full of pasta dish, in comparison. You'll definitely get full from the pizza here. If you're hungry, it's expensive and quite OK. We won't be coming back!

The Basilico is located a little away from tourism. This offers delicious cuisine and good service for those who don't necessarily have to eat on the promenade. We will be back.

Spaghetti Carbonara with cream, unfortunately a no-go. Cream has no place in a carbonara. This made the dish very greasy. Unfortunately, when ordering, I overlooked the fact that the carbonara here is cooked with cream. Pizzas were okay.

All in all super recommended. The food was great and the service was great too.

Ja viel mehr als in der Überschrift kann ich nicht sagen. Die Pizza war super super lecker. Wir hatten Quatro Stationi, guter Käse, der Teigrand war knusprig und würzig, der Espresso war auch super - das ist nicht überall so! Und die Bedienungen waren allesamt äußerst freundlich bis gut gelaunt und fröhlich.

I didn't think the whole thing was bad, but what you get for the price doesn't taste particularly good either. The vegetables didn't taste the same, the pizzas were okay. The bruschetta was quite good, but 8.20 is not a small price.

Just outside of Überlingen you will find an excellent Italian restaurant here. Parking spaces can be found free of charge next to the restaurant. The furnishings are very attractive and appear upscale. The service was of very good quality, here you know your craft. The daily specials would be presented to us when the menu was displayed. We didn't have to wait long for drinks and appetizers. (Picture: Antipasti platter for two). It took a while to get to the main course, but it was quite full. The main courses were really delicious. (Image: Saltimboca and leg of venison). Here you will also find an incredibly good stone oven pizza that is second to none. For dessert there was a super delicious tartufo with fresh fruit. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Conclusion: If you want to enjoy a great meal away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, you will get your money's worth here. However, a reservation is strongly recommended.

During our short vacation we were looking for a restaurant that was also suitable for vegetarians. We had a very good meal there, my tagliatelle with spinach... from the daily menu was very tasty, not the normal stuff you would expect from an Italian restaurant. So really excellent. We can recommend the garlic bread as a starter. Super flavorful and everything was beautifully presented. Service was all very nice and accommodating.

I had a very fine Vitello Tonnato. The meat was fresh, tender and juicy and I found the tuna sauce to be very delicate. The pizza bread was warm and also very tasty. The pizza not only looked very good, but was one of the tastiest I've ever eaten. A crispy base that wasn't dry inside. The toppings were plentiful and very good. Unfortunately I couldn't test any more dessert, it was more than enough. I'm looking forward to the next visit.

A very nice atmosphere with beautiful Italian music , the food was very good and the price is very affordable. Pumpkin soup as a starter was the best choice we made because it tasted so nice and made us want more. The Spaghetti Bolognese was also very good because the sauce was home made. We had a great time.

Hallo zusammen, das Lokal ist nicht direkt an der Promenade und das ist gut so. Hier wird mit Herz, Seele und handwerklichem Können gekocht. Ich war die letzten Monate öfters da und egal ob Fisch oder Fleisch, es war immer Lecker. Auf die Tagesempfehlungen kann man sich einlassen. Das ist nicht eine Empfehlung weil zuviel da, sondern wirklich lecker und frisch. Ich habe mir angewöhnt, mich auf die Tagesempfehlung einzulassen und war immer begeistert. Die Weinempfehlung passte immer und der Service ist freundlich. Die volle Terrasse im Sommer und jetzt im Oktober drin ist fast immer voll. Das beste Kompliment für ein Lokal, welches nicht an der Promenade liegt. Jürgen

Ein Gedicht - von der Vorspeise, einer kreativen Variation aus Feldsalat, unfassbar leckerem Kürbis, gebackenem Ziegenkäse, Feigen…. über leckeren frischen Miesmuscheln mit einem aromatischen Sud aus Tomaten, bis hin zum feinen Schokoküchlen mit Mango-Quark Eiscreme…. Eine freundliche und sehr aufmerksame Bedienung- wir kommen seit Jahren immer wieder gerne hierher und empfehlen das Lokal gerne weiter🤗

Beruflich verkehren wir häufiger in der Nähe von Goldbach. Wir sind inzwischen zu Stammgästen des o. g. Restaurants geworden. Nebst der überaus zuvorkommenden, humorvollen und freundlichen Bedienung (vor allem Massimo & Dominik) sind die gereichten Speisen optisch ansprechend zubereitet und sehr köstlich. Die Tageskarte variiert und hält stets ein mannigfaltiges Angebot bereit, sodass wir immer auf unsere Kosten kommen. Zwar sitzt man nicht am See, aber dennoch sind die Außenanlagen liebevoll hergerichtet und der Abstand zwischen den Tischen ist so, dass man nicht beengt beisammen hockt. Wir freuen uns, das "Basilico" entdeckt zu haben und kommen immer wieder gerne!

Das Basilico ist unser Lieblingsrestaurant für besondere Anlässe. Es ist nicht so schick wie in Sipplingen oder Ludwigshafen, dafür ist der Service toll und freundlich und das Essen lecker.
