Rio Grande Blankenese Restaurant Steakhous in Hamburg

The food was excellent, both in terms of quality and portion size. The staff were very friendly. The only downside was the steep prices, especially for drinks, appetizers, and desserts.

I quite like it there. It's very nice. On Boxing Day, everyone seemed a bit overwhelmed. We had to wait almost an hour for our food. It was presented without any care, and some of the portions were too small. They've raised their prices significantly. The price/performance ratio is no longer right. It's a shame; we won't be eating there again.

We enjoyed the Christmas buffet with five people on Christmas Day. It was truly wonderful, with something for everyone. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff was attentive. I hope it will be offered again in 2026. Thank you, and Happy New Year!

The food was excellent – ​​especially the mixed grill! The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium, and both the chicken and pork tenderloin were exceptionally delicious. The service staff was also very friendly and attentive. The tiramisu was also superbly prepared. While it lacked the taste of alcohol, this was presumably intentional – and will surely appeal to most guests. We were there in December, and the Christmas atmosphere was wonderfully cozy. 🤗

A truly fantastic steakhouse. From the lunch menu, which is really affordable, to the regularly changing specials menu, to the regular menu, everything is amazing. I almost always order steak and have never been disappointed. Really good meat and excellent service. You can tell the guys enjoy their work. The restaurant is cozy and especially decorated for Christmas. And dogs are always welcome.

It was a family celebration with two small children. The service staff and everyone were very attentive, and it was really nice that the children were catered to and that space was created for a bit of privacy, even when it came to breastfeeding. The food was excellent.

Unfortunately, I only give it three stars because I think the prices are completely excessive. Compared to other Rio Grande restaurants, they're significantly more expensive. If you ordered the salad, it was disappointing. It was carelessly placed on the plate with lots of iceberg lettuce. The steak was good but also too expensive. Unfortunately, it was the first and last time. I'd rather go back to Block House, where at least they include a salad beforehand and you get herb butter for no extra charge.

We were greeted with warmth and hospitality at the Rio Grande in Blankenese. We had a tomato salad for starters, a beef steak and beef fillet for the main course, with fried potatoes or sweet potato fries, and a walnut Baileys sundae for dessert...a real treat. Highly recommended!

We ordered burgers three times today. Horrible. Fries? What were they? Limp, droopy potato strips. Not crispy at all, tasteless. A tiny bowl of bad sauerkraut from a bucket (just water in the bowl). Bad buns. Avocado cream from a tube (?). The bacon barely touched the pan. And for that, so much money. Not worth it. Never again. Wheat beer €6.80 😳 0.4L apple spritzer €6.70 👎👎 Never again!! Shame on you.

We've enjoyed going to Rio Grande for years. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, and the food is consistently high quality and fresh. It's a restaurant you can rely on—and one you'll gladly return to.

We stayed at the Hotel Behrmann across the street. From there, it's a stone's throw to the Rio Grande restaurant. We went there twice during our stay because we enjoyed it so much. The food was delicious, and the service was really good. The waiter (owner?) was very friendly. On our last evening, he even extended the kitchen hours a bit (after we called and asked) so we could still eat. That's not something to be taken for granted. If we're ever in Hamburg again, we'd be happy to come back.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch here and were initially a bit confused by the menu. A lot of choices, a rather unusual design – but we're glad we chose Rio Grande after all. The Beyond Meat burger was the best I've had in a long time, and the beef medallions were absolutely perfect. We were completely satisfied with everything and will definitely be back.

We were here for brunch today. The brunch cost €27.90 per person, which was really fair for the selection. Unfortunately, I was shocked by the drink prices at the end. Even though it's Blankenese, €6.70 for a 0.4l soft drink is extremely expensive.

RIO Grande is one of my favorite restaurants in the heart of Blankenese. A very familiar atmosphere, super-friendly staff. Even the chefs are usually on-site and warmly serve their regulars. Not only is the service very friendly, but the food is also excellent, from salads to steaks to pasta and desserts. The ambiance is constantly being improved to ensure customers feel completely at home. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The drinks are available here at exorbitant prices. €6.90 for 0.4L Seven Up is simply an outrage. Once and never again

Das Essen war ein Gedicht! Der Service ist super, überaus freundlich und zugewandt. Wir kommen immer gerne und häufig ins Rio Grande und empfehlen es sehr oft weiter.

Main course was fantastic. Unfortunately not the dessert. The placemats are somewhat reminiscent of a cheap fast food restaurant. This makes it look inferior.

Enjoyed brunch for the second time. Everything was very good and tasty. There was plenty of everything and it was always replenished. The choice of food is more than you can manage. Coffee and tea included. The only point of criticism in my opinion is that there isn't another drink included...
