Elysee Hotel in Hamburg

I chose to celebrate my 50th birthday at the hotel and the hotel recognised this in the best possible way by putting a bottle of champagne in the room. A marvellous hotel that has earned all its stars. It is not a new hotel but of high quality.

I wanted to book the hotel for anniversary celebration as it’s quite popular and looks like a lovely place. However they cannot arrange anything for the special occasions due to high number of guests. Understandable but definitely not a 5-star service level.

A house with style and rightly 5 stars. The location is also excellent.

Very well located. Quiet rooms despite being close to main roads. Good restaurants. Walking distance to the Aussenalster and the city center. Great service.

We had a really nice weekend with the whole family. There is even a playroom for the children and a lot of attention and understanding. We were impressed by the selection of very good restaurants, as well as the hospitality of the staff. You can see that the hotel has been renovated over the years, we had a very modern bathroom. Thank you !

I recently stayed at the Grand Elysee Hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The staff was not only unhelpful but at times seemed indifferent to our concerns. Whether it was the check-in process or requests for assistance, the service fell short of expectations. The condition of the room did not meet the standards we anticipated. There were cleanliness issues and maintenance concerns that affected our stay. Given the reputation of the hotel, I expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve the guest experience.

Unprofessional staff and the manager Luka was very rude and he is not understanding the services of 5 star hotel not sure why is he a manager level ! I don’t t recommend this hotel at all

Nice hotel, nice clean room with a nice view, quiet surroundings.

Why do you serve various completely spoiled products (melons, oranges, tomatoes) to your guests at the breakfast buffet? I can't remember this ever happening to me in a hotel anywhere in the world! I also wouldn't have expected the taste and quality of other products (fried eggs, poultry beer ham, latte macchiato with oat milk) that I wanted to consume in this higher quality hotel.

Friendly helpful staff, pleasant rooms , great location The location of the Hotel is excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly , including the Concierge , which is not always the case. The room categories we took were very pleasant and spacious . The Hotel had a congenial place in the lounge to drink and have some snacks. There were a number of other restaurants . This is an independent Hotel , not part of a chain. It has French names (but dont try French here - no one speaks it )

The pre-authorized amount will never release automatically until you notice and call to claim it. The amount of pre-authorization was the same as your total, please consider booking when you know you will have to pay double for all. It should never be like this as a 5-star hotel. Noticed this issue after one week and checked the reviews in detail, not a surprise when I saw some others also commented. But it’s too late for me, therefore remark here as a kind advice if you are booking please take it into account.

Be careful when you use your credit card. I really don’t want to write this, but I just saw another bad review talking about the totally same thing which really surprised me. Why no improvement after you knowing there is something wrong with your system? I have to point out just to remind other customers. They did not release my over 2000euro pre-authorization amount. I found out by myself. After several months of contacting with my bank I finally got my money back. At the same time I received no apology and no e-mail reply of explanation. This seems not a 5-star hotel service attitude. Maybe they don’t care about those few customers. 🥲

Top breakfast, book a room in a quiet location and everything will be great

Simply great hotel. Wellness in the pictures is nicer than real, but still GREAT. And if you book early enough, you can get really good deals.

Located in a very prominent area of Hamburg, out of the touristic busy area

A lovely hotel with charm and great staff. The HSV team can be found here at home games. The roof bar is awesome. Great swimming pool with whirlpool and various saunas. Very attentive staff. It's worth it!

Wonderful hotel with very good cuisine

A very nice hotel with outstanding service. The reception staff were always friendly and always found a solution to any questions or concerns. The location is central and just a few minutes walk from the nearest train station. The hop-on-hop-off bus stops just a few meters from the hotel. The rooms are very spacious with the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel (almost better than at home 😅) We were completely satisfied and would choose this hotel again at any time!

This is my hotel for an 8 day stay, and one that I use yearly for an event. The property is magnificent. All parts are clean. Staff all speak fluent English. Rooms are a decent size, offering updated interiors with a desk, flat panel tv with international channels. On site restaurants are great, and highly recommend the breakfast which is typical German with fresh bread and a variety of other items. Great conference facilities with an on site av team.

The hotel was overall good! The Grand Elysée Hotel was amazing! The rooms are luxurious, the staff are friendly-ish, and the location is perfect. I had such a fantastic stay there. Highly recommended! 😄👍🏻 The only negative thing i have to say about this is that when we went to check in, the staff were arguing and demanding things but they were okay and it cannot be bothered, they were friendly enough for a stay at the Hotel! The spa (If im honest) wasn’t that great or fancy as the rest of the hotel, But it was enough for a stay at the Hotel! I definitely recommend and the Hotel Rooms provide you with everything you need for a stay at the Grand Elysée!

I accommodated my disabled in-laws and our children here for 5 nights including breakfast. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the room (alcove), the breakfast, the pool and the friendliness of the staff. Booking directly through the hotel was uncomplicated and cheaper than through well-known portals. We would all be happy to come back. Thanks to the team

The hotel's entrance area amazes with its remarkable design and convenience. The room is large, the furniture is good quality, the bed is comfortable and wide, 5 stars, Badezimmer is large, spacious, many mirrors, a good dressing table, trouble. Excellent breakfast with jamon and Parma ham, the staff is polite and well trained. The location is convenient in the very center, but absolutely not noisy. The spa area is especially great. Large swimming pool, saunas with a wonderful herbal scent. I recommend visiting.

The Grand Elysee - we were guests here for the second time - is a great opportunity for mere mortals like us to make a stay in Hamburg something special. We like to go to HH every now and then, but the GE is usually not in our price range - but this stay, coupled with a visit to a concert, was a Christmas present and was therefore a total exception anyway. Since we had booked a room facing the park, we were accommodated in the "new" part of the hotel. The room is large and pleasant, it is quiet, the bed is great, the bathroom is wonderfully large, everything is extremely clean, and there were two apples ready to welcome you - you feel good as soon as you enter. Our request for accommodation on a higher floor (5th floor) was perfectly met, and our request to be a little further away from the outside smoking area on the park side was also fulfilled. I don't want to go into the details that are to be expected in a house of this quality (except: everyone is there, everything is great!); But what I would definitely like to highlight is the staff: We have stayed in a few 5-star hotels (a good handful, but not a double-digit number), but nowhere was the staff as attentive, nice and helpful as here at the Grand Elysee . Example: We had booked a package, and thanks to the great help of the concierge service, it was possible to modify this package and thus respond to an individual request (reminder: Christmas present in conjunction with a concert), which made the concert visit something outstanding has. But all the other employees are great across the board. Here you can see what is often just blah and a facade elsewhere: the staff at the Grand Elysee make the difference between a very good and a great hotel. If it is somehow possible, we will definitely come back.

Live, enjoy, switch off - whether in the hotel, in the restaurant, at the bar, at the Petit Chef... this is Hamburg! We like the mix of exclusivity and family atmosphere at the same time, which probably only exists in a private hotel. And if you want to stay in the same room with your children, then you are in particularly good hands here. In any case, we would love to come back!

Friendliness paired with authenticity, it's good. Nice swimming pool. Top service. Good underground parking. Breakfast offering is very good all round. The room is kept clean and up to date with the latest technology. The Top Seven lets the evening end beautifully. We would be happy to come by again when the time comes. Daa Theos and the Brasserie Flum are a good recommendation.

The options for the children were fantastic (extra menu, toys during meals, playroom, extra bath time, etc.) so it was a perfect family vacation. The breakfast offering was extensive and varied. The staff very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely book this hotel again on our next Hamburg vacation.

Never had a better night's sleep. All I can say about the criticism is that it's not true. The hotel manager spoke to me twice to see if everything was okay. 👍

The hotel is already getting a bit old and there is room for improvement in some areas. Nevertheless, I would stay at this hotel again at any time because the service is really excellent! They put a lot of effort into serving the guests well and fulfilling every wish. For this reason I give the rating 5*, because I haven't experienced this much commitment in a long time.

Great hotel! Very nice rooms, excellent service, very friendly staff, great wellness area and a delicious breakfast.. Always nice here! We'd love to come back, we'd just be happy about cheaper parking fees.

We stayed two nights. The staff at the hotel are incredibly friendly and accommodating. This is absolutely excellent. We had our dog with us, who was also very welcomed. The breakfast is very comprehensive, leaving nothing to be desired. For the sake of the environment, we would prefer shower gel dispensers to the many small bottles. I liked the free apple in the room. The location of the hotel is unique and totally central. We'd love to come back.

What can you say? The third stay, not without reason. This is where you come home. Five stars for a real traditional house with five stars. This is reflected in the facilities, service, friendliness, cleanliness and also in the restaurant and wellness offerings.

This is the best hotel in Hamburg. The service is fantastic and facilities classy, clean and comfortable. Proximity to shopping, CCH, public transit and outdoor space is convenient. Highly recommend a service at the spa and dinner in Piazza.

If you want luxury and pampering, then the Grand Elysee is the place to visit. Fantastic rooms, crockery oriented staff, fantastic food and the most wonderful SPA area.

Ich mag dieses Familiengeführte Hotel sehr. Die Familie Block hat auch während Corona zu ihren Mitarbeitenden gehalten. Kümmern sich um ihre Gäste und auch um soziales Engagement. Ich bin immer wieder gern hier!

Wer sich einmal richtig verwöhnen möchte - ist dort bestens aufgehoben.
