Im Rahmen eines Geschäftsessens hatten wir das Vergnügen, dieses Steakrestaurant zu besuchen – und es war von Anfang bis Ende eine rundum überzeugende Erfahrung. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll und einladend, ideal für geschäftliche Anlässe. Besonders hervorzuheben ist jedoch der herausragende Service: Das Personal war äußerst aufmerksam, professionell und zugleich angenehm zurückhaltend. Ein besonderer Dank gilt Valentin! Wünsche wurden nahezu vorausschauend erfüllt, und die Beratung zu Speisen und Weinen war exzellent. Das Steak – auf den Punkt zubereitet – war von erstklassiger Qualität. Insgesamt ein perfekter Ort, um Geschäftspartner zu beeindrucken und gleichzeitig einen genussvollen Abend zu verbringen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Lisa accompanied us very professionally and cordially throughout the entire evening. You will be picked up right from the start by explaining the concept and answering all your questions confidently. The meat is carved directly at the table and the cooking level was perfect. You can taste that everything is freshly prepared and cooked to a high standard. There is also a very good selection of wines.

The [m]eatery offers first-class service, in an upscale atmosphere and with excellent steaks! We were in Hamburg for a week and after our first visit, we loved it so much that we ate there a second time. The steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted a real experience (we had the dry aged tomahawk and the fillet in the salt crust). The service was very attentive, friendly and relaxed, which we really liked. We can only recommend the [m]eatery and will definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg.

My partner and I had a wonderful evening at the meatery. Everything was almost perfect. Starting with the starter (salmon tartare and beef tartare) through the main course of 300 gr. beef fillet with side dishes and the very good veal jus to the surprise birthday dessert. Well, it's a bit expensive but quality, ambience and good service have to be paid for and we're happy to have that...

Excellent steak restaurant with style We decided on the fillet - and were completely convinced: grilled to perfection, accompanied by delicious side dishes and served in a stylish ambience. Particularly noteworthy is the exceptionally friendly and attentive service – simply top! One of the best services in a long time! The wine selection is high quality, but the Meatery Signature Champagne Aperitif is a real highlight. The crowning finale: the heavenly brioche dessert – it couldn’t be better.

Great restaurant with very friendly and informative staff (who can even give you good tips for preparing your own food 😉) and a very chic atmosphere. And none of it seems out of place.

Update 2025 And once again we were there to treat ourselves to a perfect (!!!) dinner. Special requests for a different table were fulfilled as well as nice, friendly, relaxed and professional service. The main thing...the food...I'm really not exaggerating, to be honest, the steaks there are incredibly good. Had the sirloin cut and tartare as an appetizer! Craziness!!! Unreserved recommendation to go there. If I were a cow, I would donate my body to the catering industry. Steaks of the finest quality, nice atmosphere, tartare as a starter is a must! When we are in HH an integral part of the weekend.

From reception to catering, friendly and attentive staff, with an interesting menu. Greetings from the kitchen, it was good! A little fresh, tasty baked bread with good butter. Anyone who loves wine will get their money's worth. I really enjoyed the Escudo Rojo. The selection of good meat is impressive. My dry agenda New York was medium rare a dream!

What is happening in this restaurant is simply unacceptable. A reservation for my family - my wife and two children - ended in a nightmare. My beef tartare: a tasteless, watery mass, apparently diluted with vinegar, the meat of questionable freshness. Instead of admitting that something went wrong, the waiter responded with nonchalant indifference. Not even a *semblance* of apology! But that's not all: our table was ignored the entire evening, as if we had made ourselves invisible. Meanwhile, the cook was presumably hiding - or was it the boss? – in the background instead of taking responsibility. An embarrassing demonstration of poor leadership. And as if that wasn't enough: my wife's steak, which was specifically ordered "medium", came rare medium rare. A sheer lack of respect for the guests – or simply technical incompetence? Conclusion: An evening that not only disappointed, but also destroyed any trust in this restaurant. Anyone who demands money for such negligence should urgently rethink their concept - or better yet, close it straight away.

Toller Abend. Sowohl Personal (Valentin) als auch das Essen waren fantastisch! Wir würden immer wieder kommen. Auch die Empfehlung der Getränke!

Bueno, primero las buenas noticias: Los filetes sabían muy bien y se cocinaron a la perfección. El personal también era amable y conocedor del vino, pero también eran muy pocos y por lo tanto estaban demasiado ocupados. Nos llevó mucho tiempo tomar nuestras primeras copas, y nos echaron a perder el filete. Se los llevaron de vuelta sin discutir, pero a medida que nos abríamos paso a través de los que volvíamos, teníamos una fuerte sospecha de que no eran los ojos óseos - en costilla - que habíamos ordenado. No tenían un ojo gordo, y el hueso parecía un – 10 € más barato - corte de Nueva York (ver foto). Pero sabían genial. De hecho, fue el mejor filete que he bebido en mucho tiempo – el nivel perfecto de nuez seca - envejecida y cocinada a la perfección, por lo que no tuvimos energía para quejarnos más. Pero probablemente no volveremos.

Very good, incredibly good food and very good service. Highly recommended.

Well, first the good news: The steaks tasted really good and were cooked to perfection. Staff was also friendly and knowledgeable about wine, but they were also too few and so they were overstretched. It took a very long time for us to get our first drinks, and they messed up our steak order. They took them back without arguing, but as we worked our way through the ones we got back, we had a strong suspicion that they were not the bone-in rib-eyes we had ordered (and eventually paid for). They didn’t have a fat eye, and the bone looked like a – 10€ cheaper – New York cut (see photo). They tasted great, though. In fact, it was the best steak I have had in a very long time – the perfect level of dry-aged nuttyness and cooked to perfection, so we didn’t have the energy to complain further. But we probably won’t be coming back.

The service and food have been great for years. The ambience has also been unchanged for years, so you could invest in the direction of "friendliness" (complaining at a high level). I'd love to come back when we're in HH. Many thanks again to the service and the kitchen.

We were given a very friendly welcome, our jackets were taken away and hung in the wardrobe. Super nice service staff, great ambience and unusual menu in “Alu”. The food was very tasty. Secretly a very harmonious evening.

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT!!!! The evening started out fine, the host was super attentive and the personal were nice, UNTIL we got our bearnaise sauce to our main. This restaurant presents to be an high end steak house, but they don't even have their sauces in check! The bearnaise sauce was completely blah, tasted nothing but butter. No acitity or estragon! When I went to the waitress and told her this bearnaise tasted like nothing. They did nothing but telling me that this is how their sauce is. For an HIGH-END steak house, should this be the service level?!?! On another hand, it is rather worrisome that this so called high-end steak house don't even know how bearnaise sauce should taste like?!?! The WORST PART: Nobody bothered to tried the sauce. Nobody did anything to make it better.

One of the best restaurants I have ever visited in my life. It's something special. You definitely have to dig deeper into your pockets but it's worth it. The meat literally melts in your mouth and everything else tastes incredibly good. Only people who really understand good, high-quality food can taste this.

Excellent restaurant with a great ambience, great service and fantastic food. We were there for the second time and it is an absolute recommendation. The service is on point, very accommodating and there are no long waiting times. We will continue to stop by every time we visit Hamburg.

Unfortunately the steak was very tough :,( and the service wasn't attentive at all. Too bad...

The atmosphere and food were very nice, the head waiter took good care of us, but I saw only one flaw: they gave our food to another table, we waited a little too long, but overall I can say it was good.

The price-performance ratio is not right. The quality of the food (oysters and steak) is not in proportion to the prices. Very disappointing restaurant. There's no point in offering an aperitif as an excuse next time. I just don't go there anymore.

The food was top notch for us. We had the appetizer variation, which is highly recommended. You can't go wrong when choosing a steak because everything sounds very good. We had the dry aged rump steak. It was grilled perfectly. The dessert was also really great. We have to mention our waiter Valentin Steinfeld, who had a great wine recommendation for us and also did a great job. Thank you again for that :-)

I had dinner at Meatery and I can honestly say this place is a must-visit for anyone who loves a good steak. The atmosphere when you walk in is welcoming but also has this sleek, modern vibe. It’s comfortable and upscale without being pretentious, which I really appreciated. Excellent selection of meat, self dry aged steaks with extraordinary quality. Perfect dessert.Espresso was fresh but could be stronger.

A fabulous restaurant with delicious meat dishes and a very warm and peaceful atmosphere. Works well for business lunches, romantic dates and more. The steaks are reasonably priced and the quality is hard to beat!

Wir haben uns im schönen Ambiente sehr wohl gefühlt. Bei der Auswahl des Fleisches sollte man unbedingt auf Tippˋs vom freundlichen Serviceteam vertrauen. Herr Göppel hat uns alle Cut’s und Herkunftsregionen super erklärt, sodass meine Frau und ich jeweils unsere Steaks so bekommen haben, wie wir sie am liebsten mögen! Getränke und Beilagen auch alle Top, nur das Kartoffelgratin hätte etwas weniger Rosmarin vertragen können….

The Meatery is one of my favorite restaurants in Hamburg! We were there again yesterday at the start of the year and it was once again terrific - the quality of the food, drinks and service (especially Ms. Ilic) were, as with every visit, simply great.

Hier kommen wirklich Erlebnis und Genuss zusammen. Für besondere Abende sehr zu empfehlen. Ich habe hier das beste Steak seit langem gegessen. Dazu ein schönes Ambiente...., gehobene Klasse , und ein perfekter, freundlicher, professioneller Service. Und auch die Weinempfehlung passte. Wir waren zu viert und wurden sehr freundlich und aufmerksam von Herrn Göppel bedient. Ausgezeichnet und auf hohem Niveau. Ein unvergesslicher Abend , gerne wieder....

I’ve tried other well-known restaurants, but none came close to shining like “meatery” in terms of service, taste, and value for money. Highly recommended—thank you so much! We visited as a couple for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was fantastic and quiet, making it easy to have a good conversation. The service was extremely friendly, highly competent, and eloquent. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sides were generously and expertly prepared, and the drink selection was excellent. Parking was convenient via the parking garage. The table was spotless and set in a contemporary style. 👌🏼🤩🫶🏼

I was there to eat and it was really good. The dry-aged steaks were particularly tasty. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed but still chic. The staff was very helpful and patient with all the questions I had. The cocktails in the Botanist Bar after the meal were also perfect I will definitely come back next time

Immer wieder beruflich in Hamburg + heute das 15 x allein hier im Hotel Side, Hamburg, Drehbahn. Was liegt näher, als auch im Restaurant Meatery essen zu gehen? Immer gern die Bricks oder den Wild-Oktopus als Vorspeise, dann Fleisch = Rinderfilet in der Salzkruste + dazu einen herrlichen Rotwein 🍷 ‼️ So genießt man das Leben. Dank des ausgezeichneten Services durch Herrn Dietmar Göpel + Herrn Biagio De Sanctis wird der Abend ein unvergessenes Erlebnis. Bitte „meinen“ Rotwein nicht ganz leer trinken!

A big compliment goes first and foremost to Omid, who accompanied us through this wonderful evening in a very personable and friendly manner. He spent a lot of time and effort explaining not only the menu to us, but also the steak variations and various details about the wine. We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant! As soon as we entered we received a warm and friendly welcome, which immediately gave us a pleasant feeling of hospitality. The menu was explained to us in detail, and we particularly liked the fact that the meat was shown to us directly at the table to illustrate it - a really nice idea! The service was absolutely top – attentive, professional and always with a smile. The food was a delight: everything was perfectly prepared, the meat was cooked to perfection and of excellent quality. We felt completely at home and can only warmly recommend this restaurant. As for the best prepared steaks in Hamburg. Friendly welcome, followed by top service from entertaining staff. The room itself is a bit noisy unfortunately, but this does not change the quality of the food. The tartare is also delicious.

Food looked like all the other pictures. The service was good, especially from the head waiter. The quality and taste of the food was top notch. I especially liked the ambience. Nice dark and cozy, relaxed electronic lounge music. We will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, we must have had a bad day. Too little service, drinks/aperitif after the starters, wrong steak at first, waiting for the new steak, espresso without sugar (none of the waiters within shouting distance). Bill and wait again until the waiter comes with the EC device. The staff tried hard but unfortunately it doesn't match the expectations when you pay €190 for dinner. Unfortunately, overall the price/performance doesn't match and it was our last visit, even though the steak was very good. Sorry

I love this restaurant!! The food is always on point, incredibly good quality, great selection and 12/10 stars for the preparation. The staff deserves at least as many stars. All employees are super friendly, courteous, attentive and absolute professionals. We eat here regularly and nothing will change.

Ambience is so-so. It's just a breakfast room. You can clearly see the breakfast counter. The food was good but not outstanding. The employees are friendly and accommodating. Okay to eat here but it's better in this price segment.

Very nice service and outstanding food. Came by especially for the brisket and was not disappointed. There were also 2 delicious sauces and side dishes of your choice, the potato gratin was prepared in a classic way and went very well with the main course. The Half Baked Cookie with vanilla ice cream as dessert was exactly my taste. Prices are reasonable for service and quality of food. Meat lovers will get their money's worth. Parking situation is a bit difficult.
