This was one of the best beef I had ever eaten. It comes at a price but it is definitely a place that I would recommend. We had a casual business dinner with the 5 of us in total. We chose to have the starter, main and desert in a shared dining way. In this way we all got to taste the diverse selection of beef and prawns the meatery has to offer. All of it was amazing and it was very well prepared. I would recommend going here if you are looking for leaving a good impression!

Very good steakhouse, with a hidden entrance. Steak was very good and also medium rare. Only the highly praised tartare was relatively tasteless. The steaks made up for it. Conclusion: a good place for steaks but I personally wouldn't order the tartare again. Price/performance okay

It's been a (far too) long time since we've been guests at the Meatery and we're once again very impressed. Both the taste and quality of the food as well as the extremely friendly and competent service with consistent etiquette are outstanding and are now rarely found in restaurants. Hats off! Of course the evening costs a little more, but the price-performance ratio is without a doubt great considering what you get. As a starter we had an Asian-dressed tuna tartare of the highest quality, in the style of Hawaiian poke style, incredibly tasty! The main courses were a NY Cut 400g medium-rare from German pastured beef (there was information about the origin up to the slaughter), perfectly cooked, home-cut fries and veal jus and Tiger Prawns 400g, also perfectly cooked, with risotto and chili butter, everything perfectly seasoned and a real taste experience. And by the way, the bar offers a wide and very high-quality selection of spirits and also some really good draft beers. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the wines because I'm not a wine lover. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit!

We are in Hamburg once a year and this restaurant is a must. The food and service confirm this every time. The waiter tried very hard to look after us and made it a great evening. When it comes to beef bricks, the change in the oriental bricks makes me sad, it used to be very tasty and now it's just ordinary and without any spice.

We had a wonderful evening. The service was attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. The food was excellent. The ambience is also good - the volume is pleasant and the tables are sufficiently spaced so that you can have a good conversation.

We always enjoy going to the MEatery several times a year. The service is consistently perfectly polite and courteous. The quality of the food is always consistently perfect. The only downside is the high prices, which will mean that we won't be able to come as often anymore. But if so, then always very happy.

It is a beautiful place. Ten aesthetics of the place are very nice and easy on the eye. The staff is just incredible. They are very nice and friendly. The menu is wonderful. They have many items I had never seen elsewhere like mashed celery which was surprisingly good. The food is wonderful and the bar has a great selection.

The restaurant only accepts digital vaccination certificates. A vaccination certificate that documents all three (!) vaccinations is not enough. Unfortunately, the staff only points this out to you when you're already in the store. The management would have decided that. Well, after many lovely evenings we won't see each other again. There are many rules that we all have to follow to get out of the pandemic. This is pure harassment.

The best steakhouse in Hamburg. You can only dream of meat grilled to perfection. Ribeye and T bone are my favorites. The tartare (veal and beef) and Coupe Denmark are also great. It is only necessary to reserve in advance to ensure a successful visit. Small update: your own meat and cake for dessert are the new favorites.

Great meat perfectly prepared, that's what you want and then the price is justified. Only the drinks, you have such a great bar and selection of drinks and then when it comes to soft drinks there is only Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite, you have great Hamburg providers for soft drinks that also offer a different taste 😁

What an incredible place for a steak. This was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. Although the restaurant was very quiet and not busy, this didn’t take away from my experience. I was served by Lisa who was incredibly attentive. She gave me some amazing recommendations for wine and the whole meal was fantastic. Is on the more expensive side, €75 for the New York steak, 2 sides and a glass of wine but well worth it. I would definitely come back here next time I’m in Hamburg

I was at the Meatery last week and was impressed again. The atmosphere was pleasant and our waitress Lisa was super friendly and accommodating. We didn't have to worry about anything, she put together the menu for us from wine to dessert. We really enjoyed the evening.

Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Consistent top quality, the tartare is a must (at least two bricks!), and the steaks are so good that even the accompanying vegetarians get their money's worth. Refined drinks from the bar next door, nice service, fun toilets and there's always something to watch!

Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. However, something was just a bit off with the food…just not as flavorful as a steak back in the states.

Had the Tomahawk 1.2 kg for 2 and 2 x ribe eyes, both of which were not 100% convincing. The porterhouse was much better last time. The side dishes were very good, service was very good as always.

Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of having the staff member as a waiter who behaved correctly in terms of tone, but unfortunately didn't have the same service-oriented manner as his colleagues. He didn't want to or couldn't give advice or help because the map wasn't easy for beginners. I then took over this as a now happy regular customer. This annoyance aside, I stand by it, absolutely one of the best places for meat.

The service is the best I've ever had. The tartare (all 4 types and I think the tartare is just not my thing) which didn't convince me except for the avocado tartare over the medium well T-bone steak which was unfortunately dry or the dessert which strangely enough didn't convince me that much either I find it disappointing for the price (4 people €410)…

A friend of ours made a reservation for 4 people on Sunday, June 16th. We were there on time, just before the restaurant opened, but then found ourselves standing in front of the closed doors...until 5:10 p.m. Although we tried several times to point out that the front door was still locked, we were literally left out in the rain. Luckily, Hamburg has other good restaurants that stick to opening hours. Sorry guys...that's minus points

I reserved a table for my family at opening time (5 p.m.), on a Saturday. That was our first time at the [m]eatary restaurant. I came across it by chance while browsing for new restaurants in Hamburg. When I made my reservation I wanted a table by the window in a quieter corner (which was implemented). Before starting: Each person had a starter, a main course and then a dessert. Right from the start we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. After a quiet minute, we were greeted by our waiter that evening and handed over the drink menus. My father had casually mentioned that it was our first time there and the waiter politely asked us that if we had any questions, we shouldn't be afraid to ask them, saying, "We don't have any stupid questions." Personally, I found it very pleasant because you immediately felt comfortable and really wanted to ask questions when there was uncertainty. Starter: As a starter I ordered the “[m]eatary Chopped Salad” (without beef fillet). We had to wait less than 10 minutes for our starter. The salad was really well prepared. The salad itself was not served directly on the plate, but wrapped in large radicchio leaves. For me personally, it's very nice to look at and tastes just right for an appetizer. The tomatoes had a very deep, intense flavor. Our waiter, Kevin was the first name if I remember correctly, was always trying to make sure everything was going well at our table. Not too pushy, but not too careless either. Main course: Before we all decided on our main course, our waiter was happy to advise us on the steak specialties. Personally, I wanted to know what the difference is between the US rib-eye and the South American rib-eye. In the end I decided on the South American fillet steak (300g) with the [m]eatary fries as a side dish. We had to wait between 10-15 minutes for our main course, which I think was a really pleasant wait to talk about the already successful starter. The fillet steak was medium fried and had a good browning and a light crust on the outside. It was wonderful to cut, very tender and super easy to chew. Salt was distributed over the steak in the form of crystals (I don't know the exact term, I'm not an expert). This gave the steak an additional nice touch. Dessert: We had to wait about 20 minutes for dessert because it got a bit full. For dessert I ordered the “Half Baked Cookie”. I have to admit that this dessert rounded off the evening perfectly. The combination with the vanilla ice cream was perfect for my personal opinion. Visually it was also very successful. Conclusion: If you're not above good food and accept that it can be a little more expensive, you're in good hands here. The charming and relaxed manner of our waiter was really nice. We immediately felt like we were in good hands and really enjoyed the evening. The ambience was simple but stylishly furnished. Fitting for a steakhouse of this type, but the busier it got, the more cramped you felt. Of course, this is always a subjective perception. Recommendation: If you are the type of person who wants to enjoy really good food in a quiet atmosphere, you should reserve a table at opening time. We were there from 5:00 p.m. to around 7:30 p.m. and around 6:30 p.m. it became more crowded and therefore a little louder in terms of noise. So I can only say that the [m]eatary Restaurant is definitely a good recommendation for steakhouses in Hamburg.

Excellent meat. Side dishes weren't really my thing. Service: If I have to ask in a restaurant like this whether I can get something to drink, something is wrong. It wasn't due to stress due to too many guests, it was moderately attended. The order wasn't recorded correctly either. It wasn't bad for me, but there's still something going on.

Based on many recommendations, we visited the restaurant together on May 1st, 2024. The reputation of being one of the best stone houses in the city was absolutely confirmed that evening. We enjoyed an excellent three-course menu with greetings from the kitchen, aperitif, main course and dessert. The menu was accompanied by extremely courteous service. The Meatery in Hamburg offers top quality steaks and fish. Excellent wines, a tasteful ambience and perfect service, in a quiet environment. Of course the price is upscale. But for those who are looking for a high-quality menu, for special occasions, or a perfect evening, this culinary journey is highly recommended.

The best in Hamburg. Totally surprised by the high quality of service & speed, smiles, food everything is out of this world. I very highly recommend! My only complaint is that I couldn't complain about anything!

Excellent restaurant with friendly and helpful service, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional delicious meals. We started with fresh Lillet Wild Berries drinks, while we waited for the main course. The dry aged T-bone with Cafe de Paris butter was very tender and prepared to perfection, and the Argentinian Filet Steak was amazingly tasteful. We enjoyed the main course with a fine Cabenet Sauvignon, and finished with Coupe Danmark and Cocotte Brioche for desserts. The service was helpful and very attentive, and spoke excellent English. The menu card is also available in English. Highly recommend for couple, group and business dinners.

We ate at the meatery for the first time on Good Friday and I have to say it was awesome. First of all, the decor was really nice. Everything was totally harmonious and the ambience was great. From the service, which was excellent, to the dessert, everything was just perfect. We started with the appetizer variation and it was to die for. Followed by the main course of fillet in a salt crust. It has to be said clearly that I haven't had such a good piece of meat in a damn long time. It was divine. The wine recommendation from our waiter/service person was really good and went very well with the meat. After the sumptuous starter and main course, I unfortunately had no room for dessert, but my husband still had dessert and according to him it was extremely tasty. We were definitely not here for the last time. Recommendation 100%.

We have been coming to the Meatery for years and only the fact that there are 250 km between us prevents us from enjoying the sensational food and outstanding service even more often. A beautiful restaurant, a courteous host, probably the best steak in Hamburg and an extremely capable crew at the bar. Unfortunately, coupled with an indescribably subterranean station waiter, rather bland starters and side dishes (gross craftsmanship errors such as no sauce on the braised meat, KaPü that has obviously been regenerated several times, breaded beyond recognition and fried onion rings without salt, love, seasoning, etc.) and the bottom line is absolutely unprofessional Appearance to the guest. Especially since you shouldn't forget what type and class of establishment you frequent here. Under no circumstances a second time!

This restaurant is located in the Side Design hotel. The restaurant itself is very well design and inviting. As the name implies, meat is their specialty. The steaks were extremely tasty and cooked to order. The restaurant is very close to the Staatsoper for a great show after the dinner.

We've eaten at the meatery several times and have never been disappointed. Ambiance is modern, but still very cozy. The staff very friendly and customer oriented. The food: fantastic. The starters and side dishes are also extremely tasty. Portions are absolutely fair that you can (and should) even share some. We recommend. I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Great restaurant with a nice, clear meat menu. Needless to say, the steaks are excellent. But the tartare is a must - especially if you can't get a table - which can happen - you can order it in the bar and drink the matching cocktails that the guys on site are happy to mix to match the food. Everything is pretty perfect.

Wir waren als Familie zum Abendessen und es war wie immer ein gelungener Abend. Wer gern Steak mag ist hier auf jeden Fall richtig, das Lokal hat ein schönes Ambiente und neuerdings stehen auch kleine Lampen auf jedem Tisch was die sonst etwas dunkle Atmosphäre dezent aufhellt. Bedienung sehr freundlich, nett und zuvorkommend. Alles läuft in einem gut abgestimmtem Tempo ab, man wartet nicht zu lange und wird auch nicht in kürzester Zeit abgefertigt. Über das Essen wurde schon viel geschrieben, Steaks, Beilagen alles passt und ist aus meiner Sicht perfekt. Sollte wirklich mal etwas sein, was natürlich vorkommen kann wird dieser Fehler sofort von dem Personal korrigiert bzw. findet man einen Kompromiss der für beide Seiten passt. Preislich ist es hier natürlich etwas angehoben, aber gerechtfertigt was man an dem sehr gut besuchtem Restaurant erkennt. Wir wohnen etwas weiter weg von HH, nehmen aber gern eine einstündige Anfahrt in Kauf da wir hier noch nie enttäuscht wurden.

The Meatery had the best steak we have ever eaten, even among well-known restaurants in New York, the Meatery was far better. Today the disappointment came, we were there shortly before 9:00 p.m. and the table was reserved for 9:00 p.m. It was ten past nine and we still didn't have a table, only after we asked again did we get the table. It wasn't pretty, but it wasn't particularly tragic either. At 9:45 p.m. we barely received the food and drink menus. After ordering the drinks, it took a long time again, even though we only ordered a simple ginger ale and a beer. At 10:30 p.m. we finally ate something. Unfortunately this time it wasn't a taste explosion like usual, plus the waitress gave incorrect information. We'll first see whether another restaurant "T" can convince us more in the near future. It's a real shame, but unfortunately that wasn't convincing today!

One of the best steak restaurants in all of Hamburg! There is a wide variety of meat and fish dishes and it is a completely relaxed and modern establishment. Very suitable for couples, business lunches and also families. Thank you for the wonderful service 🙏🙏

We were here for a birthday some time ago and were treated like a prince. I have rarely felt so welcome - top service! We were well advised about the food and there was also a birthday greeting from the kitchen. We took some bowls home with us.

Two things that compare other restaurants in the class stand out: 1. A wonderful selection of taste-explosive TarTar and 2. A lighting atmosphere throughout the entire restaurant, which is extremely pleasant.

The food was great as always. Unfortunately, the photo session of the influencers sitting across from us marred the overall experience somewhat and made the service bumpy and slow.
