Food was okay, very nice location. That's pretty much it. I will not comment on the service...

On a sunny Saturday morning I had coffee on the terrace. Nice place! But unfortunately, the cappuccino was not warm, and the ordered apfelstrudel that arrived 10 minutes later, came from the fridge or from the freezer. Certainly not fresh, but a bit sticky. The vanilla sauce that was poured over it made up for it a little bit. You better look for another place…

Unfortunately, the service was quite chaotic. There were a lot of servers, all trying to find their way around. Servers didn't know which table the food belonged to. Special requests (e.g., an extra portion of chicken strips with the salad) couldn't be fulfilled.

Unfortunately, the food and service were a disappointment. The waiter was obviously annoyed at his job. We waited an hour for the food. Unfortunately, that was also a huge disappointment. The atmosphere is nice.

Schnitzel was fine, steak well done. Food could not come separately so starter and main course at the same time, very small portions for the prices. Service very unprofessional, waited almost half an hour to be able to pay and this was also very sloppy, went on to a restaurant with more customer friendliness and better food

I went there for the first time with friends on the weekend. We were very disappointed. The service was very taciturn, the food was just so-so, and the portions were too small and overpriced. We made a reservation for 10 people. We were surprised that the restaurant was so dark, but we could overlook that. Service? Awful!!! The waiters were completely overwhelmed. When taking our order, he actually wrote down every word, so we finished our order in 10 minutes. The drinks arrived pretty quickly, though, except for one beer, which only arrived after we'd asked for it three times. The food? Bland, cold, and sometimes inedible. We were really embarrassed afterward because we invited people to this meal and chose the restaurant. Other things that bothered us: Some waiters served in down jackets. That's really unprofessional. When we went to the restroom, they sat down a woman who charged 50 cents for using it. When I paid, the waitress asked me if I wanted to tip. For such lousy service and the bad food, I wasn't willing to pay anything extra. Conclusion: I don't recommend this restaurant! The location is well situated and could be improved. For us, this was our last visit there.

Incredibly bad. Waited over 20 minutes for the order to be taken. The waiter said that we should order a large Kölsch (0.5l) instead of a small one, otherwise he would have to run back and forth more often. Then came the Wiener Schnitzel. An absolute disgrace, not at all enjoyable for this price and, as a Viennese myself, an absolute disgrace. Overall poor service and poor ambience with generally poor value for money. POOR SERVICE & HYGIENE - INEDIBLE FOOD They keep their customers waiting to order, they keep their customers waiting even longer for drinks and food. When drinks and food are served, the tableware is dirty. The food is inedible. When this was brought up with our waiter, two more waiters were brought to our table, not to solve the issue, but to argue. When asking to speak to the manager to find a solution, we were told 1) our complaints were to be ignored, 2) no solution was to be given and 3) we were going to be charged fully for the order.

Absolutely disappointing! The service was extremely poor and incredibly slow. The waiters were more aimless than attentive to their guests and seemed to have no idea what they were supposed to be doing. When ordering, I was asked if I wanted my meal "small," even though that option is only available for drinks! It's almost physically painful to experience something like that. To top it all off, the food was so bad that it actually upset my stomach. Thank you so much for this experience! The only positive thing was that it was nice and warm thanks to the spotlights, and the surroundings were really great. But that was unfortunately all. Never again!

So the location is nice. I ordered spareribs, but what arrived was really pitiful. Thrown carelessly on the plate and the ribs weren't really edible. Never had such bad ribs. We wanted to form our own opinion and not base ourselves on the sometimes very bad reviews. Unfortunately, it has to be said that each of the bad reviews is justified. The staff is hopelessly overwhelmed and doesn't know which dishes belong at which tables. So we were served various salads that we hadn't ordered at all. Our food had almost reached us when the waiter turned around and brought it back because he had swapped the tables again. This may also have been due to the language barrier, as some of the waiters obviously didn't speak German and kept speaking to us in broken English. From the appearance of the food you could expect it to taste good. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met either. Among other things, we ordered spare ribs. These were of absolutely inferior quality in terms of taste and were laced with fat. Two grilled skewers were also ordered. There were 7 pieces of meat on one and 8 on the other, all the same size. This shouldn't happen in a restaurant with this location and prices. In addition, the meat on the skewers had been fried for far too long, which made it extremely dry and took a long time to chew. I myself had a grill plate that looked good, but here too the meat was fried for far too long and was dry and tough. Cutlery was brought to us, but the forks were missing. We complained about this immediately afterwards, but the food came before the forks, which is why we sat there and couldn't start eating, so it inevitably got cold. The glass in which the Aperol was brought was a plastic glass, so also very unprofessional. But the highlight of the visit was when we watched the people cleaning the toilets stomped into the kitchen with gloves on. Nothing against the woman personally, but a cleaner who has scrubbed the toilet two minutes earlier has absolutely no place in a kitchen with her used gloves, there is definitely no hygiene here.

We chose this restaurant partly based on the reviews of other travelers, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Service quite poor, long waiting times for the food to arrive on the table and the quality is not very good. Mediocre wiener snitzel that cannot match an Austrian one or the one you eat elsewhere in Germany.

The reviews are paid for. We waited for 40 minutes just to place the order. The glasses were not cleaned, the beer was flat, we sent back food and the staff was very rude.

It's just a tourist restaurant. The food was okay, though. Prices were also reasonable for the location by the cathedral and the Rhine—not overpriced or bad. The food came very quickly; it was probably all frozen, but as I said, it wasn't bad. I'd describe this place as absolutely average. Nothing special, but not bad either; a perfectly acceptable place for a quick snack in a beautiful location.

The only reason to justify the high prices at Rhein Zeit is its nice location with a view of the river. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. I ordered a traditional German pork knuckle with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, while my boyfriend had a Wiener Schnitzel. To drink, we both had Coca-Cola. The food was average at best. My pork knuckle was good but definitely not the best I’ve had. The Schnitzel was just a simple breaded cutlet. While it tasted fine, for €18, we expected an authentic Wiener Schnitzel, not just a basic fried cutlet. The fries were clearly frozen, which was disappointing. On top of that, the Coca-Cola wasn’t the original brand, and the glasses smelled like alcohol, indicating they weren’t washed properly. The service was also lacking. The restaurant was almost empty, yet we had to wait an hour for our food. Additionally, we asked if we could charge our phone, and first, they said they didn’t have a charger, then later said they couldn’t allow it. It felt like they didn't really care about the customers. Overall, the food quality and service do not justify the price. If you want to enjoy the river view, maybe just have a drink, but I wouldn’t recommend eating here. About the service... Unfortunately there is quite a mess in the service. A lot of service staff, but they are all looking for orientation. Sometimes you didn't even know who worked here and who was a guest, everyone in the service had different clothes. To eat.... Unfortunately, ours was forgotten and we only investigated after we asked. The taste was ok. We won't come back.

Thankfully, my better half ordered fried turkey bites with a baked potato, which partially fed us both. The shrimp was bland, there was no garlic anywhere, and the "sauce" was broken and only on sparse bits. I try really hard NOT to leave bad reviews but buyer beware here as you might not get what you wanted. We did pay for the "pizza."

All I can say is bad staff. It takes too long for them to take an order. Then you have to wait over an hour for your food and you don't get a refund.

We had a really delicious meal at RheinZeit on the heated terrace outside on March 10, first fried prawns and then mixed grill western style. Cosy, nice and warm and with very friendly staff; see also photo. So very satisfied!

A very touristic place, which is located right on the embankment. The attentive waiter quickly found us a table outside. Compared to other establishments, the prices for drinks here are very expensive. Huge glasses of soda. The prices for some dishes do not correspond to the prices indicated on the menu. The menu lists the price as 44.9 euros for a sausage mix for two, but in reality the price is around 49 euros. We took this dish for two, but due to the fact that the sausages were fatty, we didn’t finish it a little. I think you can safely order for four. For a large glass of beer almost 7 euros. It's definitely expensive. A tourist place with a large flow of visitors.

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with friends and reserved a table four weeks in advance in Rheinzeit. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed with the service. When we arrived I asked about my reservation. The answer from the waiter was you can sit somewhere back there. The tables were dirty and we were served unfriendly. After ordering, we had to wait a long time for the drinks. When the food came, a side dish was forgotten and the fries were not baked. When we complained to the staff, new fries were delivered to us. The forgotten side dish was also delivered with a curt apology. After the meal, our waiter suddenly disappeared and no one took care of us. After 20 minutes I went to the counter and complained that the plates were still on the table and no one was paying attention to us. I got the succinct answer that the waiter had already finished work and a colleague would take over now. We thought about having dessert or a coffee, but given the poor service we decided against it and asked for the bill. We wait another 10 minutes. The bill still wasn't there and the dirty plates were still on the table. I complained to the counter again and paid the bill at the counter. The new waiter didn't respond to my complaint at all and apologized very briefly. We are tourists from Switzerland and we have the feeling that this restaurant doesn't need to offer its guests top service, more mass than class.

Popular entre los lugareños, que siempre es una buena señal. El pudín negro y manzana [Himmel und Aad] fue un excelente entrante y mi apuesta en la suela a la parrilla como plato principal dio sus frutos, ya que estaba delicioso y en los huesos. Excepcionalmente buena relación calidad-precio también! Muy recomendable incluso si el servicio era ligeramente al azar.

The location was great! Unfortunately, the service was more than bad and the food was just “okay”, but also way too expensive. Not recommended.

We had reserved in advance for 2 people. When we arrived we were told to sit down somewhere, but a waiter ran after us and seated us. The service staff were very unfriendly, neither a thank you/please nor even a greeting. Tagliatelle with strips of beef in truffle butter, rocket and parmesan was ordered. We got simple spaghetti in tomato sauce and rocket. The pork fillet we ordered was half raw and the pepper sauce was simple gravy. After we got our food, no more service staff came into the dining room. On the contrary, everyone was standing outside smoking, even though the tables were full of dirty dishes. When we wanted to complain about our food (we only ate half of it), we waved a waitress to our table, who immediately kicked us out without having a conversation, we only got the words “card or bar” even though we didn't say that we want to pay. We have never experienced unbelievable behavior like this before and although we show a lot of understanding because we work in the catering industry ourselves, we absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant or this behavior. Neither from the food, the ambience nor the staff. If it were possible, we would give 0 stars for everything!

Delicious, Cologne-style food with excursions to other culinary areas (flambée, for example) in a cozy atmosphere. The service is very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere, with small differences in height, is very cozy. The RheinZeit is great, for example. B. recommended before a visit to the Philharmonic or for a nice evening with friends and family.

Rheinzeit ist ein Reinfall!! Leider waren wir weniger als zufrieden. Statt stillem Wasser wurde Leitungswasser in einem nach Bier schmeckenden Glas serviert. Die Bestellung wurde falsch aufgenommen und nach Reklamation auch nicht auf den Gast zugegangen, so nach dem Motto Pech gehabt. Essen war von der Qualität sehr schlecht. Angus war zäh und nicht essbar. Allgemein fehlte die Würze. Hähnchenstreifen waren doppelt frittiert und fast schwarz. Wir waren und einig, dass dies eine absolute Touristenabzocke ist. Also geht lieber woanders hin, jede Imbissbude ist besser!! Die Lage lockt, aber das Essen schockt. Wir werden nie wieder dort essen gehen.

We stopped to have a beer before going up to the hotel room, they are super racist, since we are Spanish it took them much longer than other tables to serve us. I asked them for an ashtray because the table next to me was smoking and they told me to smoke in the street. Then they brought us the bill and the waiter, a dark-skinned one, told me how much he was going to tip, the bill was 6.80 and he told us that if I wanted to pay 8 euros, he finally gave me the change in 1, 2 coins. , 5, 10 and 20 cents. A disastrous deal. But hey, at least it was warm. What's more, I'm still here, and I'm giving you the review from right here because they are shameless.

We were there on a Saturday evening and got a table directly at the window without a table reservation. Service was top and the food was more than delicious. The portion was also very large.

La veranda del locale era piena ma abbiamo pazientemente aspettato che si liberasse un tavolo. Non avevo fretta, ma desideravamo sederci e i camerieri ci hanno suggerito di attendere. Dopo 20 minuti ad aspettare, siamo riuscite a trovare un tavolo. Abbiamo scelto cosa ordinare ma il cameriere ci ha detto che avrebbero chiuso la veranda e che non si poteva più ordinare (la notte di Capodanno alle 22.00). Frankly deplorable reception. As soon as we arrived, we saw that we were disturbing. The cards were thrown squarely on the table. The drinks arrive, and then, surprise: we have to help ourselves from the waiter's tray. And finally, when paying, the waiter strongly insists that the tip is not included. Given the dismal service, we left nothing, and he didn't like it: no goodbye, just moaning. Frankly, to avoid.

Unpleasant server, horrible reception. They threw the menus on the table. The food wasn’t very good, and the prices were expensive (a typical tourist trap). When we went to pay, the server had the nerve to ask for a tip. When he realized I definitely wasn’t going to leave one, given their mediocre service, he didn’t even say goodbye and was grumbling. I hope there will be some changes in the team because this really doesn’t make you want to come back.

Unfortunately the only good thing was the Kölsch. The steak is an absolute disgrace! The meat quality is underground. Steak 400gr consists of 1/3 pure fat, the meat was cooked through even though medium rare was requested. It was absolutely tasteless. The baked potato, as a side dish, was simply drowned in creme fraiche without any seasoning. This was also passed on to the waitress, and the only response was “okay”! and they charge you €30 for that. Absolute disgrace and definitely not recommended.

Not satisfied with the restaurant... For the positive points which make up for it a little: The food is good and fairly quick to arrive The staff is quite friendly and smiling Rather comfortable seats and heating on the terrace Negative points: Low quantity, especially considering the price (around €25) Very noisy terrace and not very clean 75cl bottle of still water for €10!!! It's a theft at this level, especially since the price of this one doesn't even appear on the drinks menu.

The RheinZeit has changed a lot. Instead of seasonal cuisine - or a Christmas menu in December - everything was standard and tasted standard. Okay...I can recommend tarte flambée...bon appetit.

To all French people, avoid this tourist trap restaurant, let me explain: The food isn't bad, but the service is absolutely abominable. Very cold reception, the order was placed quickly ok until nothing unusual in Germany. Once our dish was finished, it took me no less than 4 calls to 4 different waiters to get the bill (Each waiter told me to wait with a "nothing to do" look and left while each of them were free and did nothing at the time of my requests). After the 4th call, a waiter tells me to go pay inside, which I will do immediately. I was not surprised when the waiter literally asked me to leave a tip directly in the bill by paying by card. (The nerve knowing that the service is catastrophic). Being very embarrassed by this request, I decided to take out a 1€ coin that was absolutely undeserved given the quality of the service, gave it to the waiter and the latter dared to look at me with a disappointed look as if this money was owed to him ). Flee this shame.

Unfortunately, service doesn't see the empty glasses. When a hand signal is given, the waiter has no desire to come to the table. It's better to stay at the entrance so that you have to shout all over the forecourt. Food was McDonald's style, had the US double burger, Meat fell apart while eating. Fries were soggy. Cocktails - after this, after a long dry phase, came the next disappointment. Little alcohol and instead of cane sugar there was normal sugar. Price-performance? Better leave it alone!

The service started well but unfortunately declined significantly. We were approached on the street and then you had to make sure you got something to drink yourself. Now to eat, ordered prawns but almost only got bowls 😫 The steak was so-so, a lot of craves and you could count the fries with two hands... definitely too expensive for that

Wir waren am 24.12.24 von 16 h bis ca 20 h in diesem Restaurant mit 11 Personen , ein netter Kellner nahm die Bestellung auf . Dann kamen jede Menge andere Kellner und servierten das Essen , es war sehr chaotisch da viele Sachen falsch serviert wurden , ein Essen hat solange gedauert das wir anderen schon fast fertig waren . Die Kellner waren irgendwie total überfordert . Dann zum Schluss ist ein Gutschein von Douglas vergessen worden mit einem Goten Betrag , nach Tisch anrufen oder immer wieder jedesmal ein anderer am Telefon , ist er natürlich nicht gefunden worden was ich sehr traurig finde . Im normal Fall legt man es hinter die Theke . Das Essen war na ja geht so . Ein grillteller hat nur 3 kleine Stücke Fleisch drauf gehabt , den man anders kennt . Würden dieses Restaurant nicht nochmal buchen

Tourist flophouses. Schnitzel great and bigger than expected. Side dish (fries) looked and tasted like they had been in the deep fryer for too long.
