We were there on a beautiful sunny day in late summer, so we ate not the terrace. We both had the Nurnberger Rostbratwurst . The Bratwurst were lovely, along with mash and gravy, and very tasty sauerkraut. The meal was reasonably priced and very tasty. A good stop.

We wanted to take a quick break and ordered some Kölsch...However, something else is being filled into the Kölsch glasses...definitely NOT Kölsch...full of fraudsters

We found it to be mixed. The food was rather average. The burger was dry, the fries were cold. The country pork schnitzel was ok. The service staff didn't really try hard. Conclusion: It wasn't really bad, but not really good either 🤷🏼‍♂️

Unfortunately, waiting times are very long, portion sizes and quality of the food leave a lot to be desired. All in all very disappointing and not worth a second visit.

So we were there with several friends, we wanted to pay and told the waiter we would like to pay separately. He then came to us and slapped the cash register on the table saying “you should pay together”. When we went to check out at the front, we weren't talked to and we were treated like we were trash. Not recommended. Better go to other bars.

Food cold Quantities are not correct. Ordered 1m bratwurst and got 60cm. I complained and 2 pieces arrived. Fries on 4 plates together, not 700g

Surprisingly nice food. I had a pasta dish which isn’t the most complex but it was actually really nice. Homemade tiramisu was also good. Service was attentive and pleasant.

We were in Cologne for a few days as a couple and from the second day onwards it was our “go-to” restaurant. Service was very pleasant, waiting times were also very short. Food was very tasty. If we come to Cologne again, we would be happy to be there again

Worst service I've ever experienced. In fact, almost none. The waitress strolled past us several times, chatted with other waiters, looked around on her cell phone before eventually taking the order. Whoever takes the order does not bring it to the table. Someone else does that and he has to run to bring everything to the tables. If this one has a break, you're out of luck. Then nothing is brought to the table. Our beers were on the counter with our cappuccino and espresso. All the waitresses stood in front of the restaurant and just took the order. Conclusion: Beer was already stale, cappuccino was only lukewarm and espresso was cold when it was finally brought to us in response to our complaint. If you want to go somewhere comfortable and have a drink, we don't recommend it. Almost forgotten: The restaurant, which is not small, has only one women's toilet open. So there too it’s time to wait! Unfortunately you can't give less than one star.

Waiting half an hour for a beer even though there are 5 waiters standing around chatting animatedly is not okay. The lukewarm espresso tops it off.

Food was ok, very German and our American friends liked to try it. Unfortunately the service wasn't that great. The older man was very unfriendly and you couldn't swap the mashed potatoes for fried potatoes. Original tone and really unfriendly: “Only as it is written”. There were a lot of tourists there. You can probably deal with them that way, they won't come back anyway. If the service were better and friendlier, I would recommend it.

Good restaurant by the Rhine. Seating inside and outside. The service was a little slow and the food was ok. We sat outside but the facility inside looked very good. There were numerous dining choices in the area.

entecote was ok, frensch fries: frozen fries without roasted flavors, pepper sauce like grandpa's unfortunately not good, The red LED glare bothered me, unfortunately the tap system wasn't set up well and the Coca Cola tasted sugary and stale. Tables clean, service friendly, very quiet location, a Mediterranean smell of seafood wafted across the place.

Too bad!!! Wanted to eat and drink comfortably. Drinks order was taken quickly and then it came. However, we had imagined the price to be €11 for 0.3l of juice (alcohol-free cocktail) differently, as there was no size information included. (Cola Zero 0.5 l cost 5.90, which is completely OK. 11€ for a cocktail is actually OK given the location but then 0.3 with half full of ice. NO!! When drinks came, we said, since we got the menu, that we wanted to eat something. After 5 minutes we asked someone else about food. After 10 minutes, I said that I wanted to pay. When I paid I said that we would have liked to eat but after asking three times no one came. We are always happy to give a tip but not this time It was cheeky, to which I then said: We don't just want to drink and you already gave us the menu. It's a shame. We had a really tasty meal at other restaurateurs and they also got a lot of tips!

A nice place to sit, drink and eat near the Rhine river. The service was good and bit chaotic, probably due to business of the restaurant. The food taste was ok, but there was very little thought and effort put into the making up of the plate, and the Hungarian goulash soup was too salty and didn’t come with bread.

The waitress has no interest in offering herself...maybe you have to bring your own drinks

Overcooked side dish of vegetables. They only served chips with everything. We had to eat outside despite asking to eat in to avoid the smokers.

Food was ok. The problem was the toilets. I would have accepted that the cabins are not well thought out and that you can go through a gap into the hallway from the first one, but unfortunately the staff in front of them were totally unfriendly. First the woman in front of the toilet asked for money to use it because she "didn't belong to the restaurant". Afterwards she cursed for minutes something like "always this fuss with women" because the two people behind me, as paying guests at a restaurant, didn't want to pay for the use of the toilet. When I left she also threw something at me. Unfortunately the visit was somewhat overshadowed. The good mood was gone.

Super great restaurant, with flair...

I was recently in Cologne during Rheinnzeit and have to say that the wait was really disappointing. The waiters are extremely slow and it takes forever to order or get your food. Even simple orders take a long time. The food itself was okay, especially the main courses were tasty. However, the pasta could be a little better, there is definitely still room for improvement. But if you value fast service, this restaurant is definitely not the right choice. I wouldn’t visit Rheinenzeit again if you’re in a hurry.”

The waiter takes the order without greeting and at the same time slowly walks away... everyone who came after us had eaten and drank first. Many who were served by him had nothing. Catastrophe, everyone including us got up

Food was good, but waiters are forcing you to tip big amounts, in my case, 15% of the note, while the service didn't justify it.

The food was good, tasty, and with generous portions. They forgot to serve one of the dishes for more than 20 minutes, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. What was even worse, when paying, they demanded that you leave a tip. We gave a €10 tip for a poor service, and we still have to deal with their sour face because it didn’t seem like enough to them. As far as I know, waiters have a salary that I’m not supposed to pay. Do we leave a tip for a train conductor, a doctor, or a teacher for doing their job? A tip is given if you liked the service, which in this case, left much to be desired. Learn to pay your waiters what they deserve and don’t force customers to do it. If you can’t manage that, raise the prices and let people decide whether to go or not. And if that’s not viable, maybe your business isn’t either."

I don't really pay much attention to Google reviews because most people just want to complain!! But here it is unfortunately as many say! The drinks came quickly but the food was kind of bland!! One of the waiters was nice and accommodating, but when I was looking for the toilet, the lady who was there didn't pay any attention to me and the other one just said very casually, then to the right! When we wanted to pay we were told in a very cheeky and even disgusting tone that EC was only available inside and would be gone as quickly as possible!!! So if you don't have to rely on tourists in Cologne, you should think about whether it's right for you to open your restaurant/bar in such a location!!!

Everything was way too expensive, Cola was not carbonated and the waiter refused to give back the change. 47.40 was the bill and he got 50 and then refused to give out the change. Never again in this alleged cocktail bar. Unfortunately, 0 stars is not possible and paying 13 euros for cocktails that aren't even mixed properly and don't taste just ridiculous. Overall, a great birthday.

The food (or at least the burger on the menu) is not recommended at all! The burger was totally dry and there was something wrong with it because I vomited everything back that same night...! Our waiter was quite nice, but another one always checked to see if any of the guests needed something and then (even though a few people spoke up) simply left again. Apart from the view of the Rhine, I wouldn't recommend the shop (especially because of the "almost food poisoning").

Went there and ordered steaks from the menu on the board. Even though it wasn't full, we had to wait quite a long time for our drinks. When the food was served again after a long time, instead of the skirt steak we ordered, we received a rump steak that was twice as expensive as the one we ordered. We pointed this out to the waiter, to which he reacted in a very unfriendly (foul) manner and claimed that we had ordered it. He would check this using the surveillance camera. It took quite a long time for him to come back to the table, where he was again extremely unfriendly and denied that we had ordered a sirloin steak. We refused to eat the steak, especially since it was cold by now. This waiter is definitely wrong at his job. I can't recommend this place more.

Fine drinks but extremely overpriced due to the location. Three drinks (apfelshorle) cost 14 euro. The service was decent and the workers were going inside and out often. I did not try the food.

Nice location with a view of the Rhine. Otherwise tourist catcher. The prices are still within acceptable limits. The service is inattentive and the cutlery is only delivered upon request and after the meal. It was the same at the next table. No questions asked every now and then whether something is missing or everything is OK.

Beware of tourist traps!! The location is of course great. I give the service one star because the colleague was nice in the morning, but everyone was very unfriendly at dinner time. I wanted to have a nice chilled Kölsch with a friend around 5:30 p.m. When the waiter came with the menu and I immediately said we only need 2 Kölsch, he turned around and slammed the menus onto the neighboring table. 2 minutes later he came back and repositioned us. When our boys from Games Com called back and said they were hungry, we decided to stay seated because the food looked nice. We had Himmel und Äd, which was very tasteless, or schnitzel with fries, which had a breading dripping with fat and the fries were allowed to bathe in the deep fryer for maybe 20 seconds. No one even dared to ask about ketchup and mayonnaise. We also found the prices to be too high for the performance ratio. Our visit was on 8/24/24 and we won't be back.

My first Kölsch drink there was very tasty. Bratwurst with fries also very good. Menu in German and English. Very large terrace. Dogs are also provided water 😊 My waiter was a very sweet old man who served right at the entrance. Greetings go out to him. It was a great experience eating there. Service very fast despite its age and despite the heat, very friendly, very attentive.

During a short stay in Cologne we visited this restaurant, which certainly attracts many guests due to its central location near the Rhine and the main train station/cathedral. Unfortunately, after our visit, we can say that this location is probably the only reason why this restaurant survives. The drinks were ok, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. The service was quick, but left a lot to be desired in terms of friendliness. It almost seemed as if more emphasis was placed on quick processing than on a pleasant atmosphere for the guests. Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel we ordered was a bitter disappointment. It was literally swimming in fat and was neither crispy nor tender - a clear case of poor preparation. The French fries served with it were also not convincing: they were obviously not in the deep fryer for too long and were therefore very light and mushy. In addition, they completely lacked salt and the usual accompaniments such as mayonnaise or ketchup were not even asked for. All in all, we were unfortunately not impressed by our visit to this restaurant. If our path takes us to Cologne again, we will definitely look for another place to eat. This restaurant gives the impression that they focus more on cashing in on tourists quickly than on quality and hospitality. Too bad!

Tiramisu was extremely tasty, service was super friendly. It's a bit loud, but that's due to Cologne city life.

The worst Aperol Spritz I've ever drunk!!!! Served in a miniature sized glass!! Criticism is not accepted and the waiters are also unfriendly. We had to speak to four different waiters before we could pay. Never again!!!!

Great breakfast experience while visiting Cologne. Fruits and juce are included, pretsels and buns are extraodinary. Coffee could've been better, but overally - super place for a breakfast.

Unfortunately the service is rude. Orders are accepted without a word. In the end there isn't even a "thank you" despite the tip. We didn't feel welcome here. Too bad.

Ich war das erste mal in diesem Restaurant und nie mehr gehe ich da hin. Ich habe reserviert und als ich ankam habe ich 5 Minuten gewartet aber niemand fragte mich ob ich essen will oder reserviert habe. Nachdem ich jemanden angesprochen habe das ich reserviert habe. Es kam nur ein böser Blick entgegen und sagte komm mit. Das Personal war allgemein sehr unfreundlich und niemand Interessierte sich für die Gäste. Ich habe das Rahmschnitzel bestellt mit Teigwaren aber gekommen ist es mit Pommes, dazu war das Schnitzel paniert Das Stand aber nicht in der Karte und ich war dann komplett verwirrt. Als ich Zahlen wollte fragte mich der Serviceangestellte ob ich noch Trinkgeld geben will habe ich das verneint und darauf hin hat er mir nicht einmal auf wiedersehen gesagt oder sonst ein Wort.

I don't know if the times were good. Now they aren't. We wanted to eat something before the musical. It was too loud in the brewery for me, so we went to the Rhine promenade. Fatal mistake. At least this place. If you look at the website you think oh, that must taste good. Honestly, the worst schnitzel I've ever eaten. It also came very quickly so that not the slightest thought was given to the fact that it might be fried. Deep fryer stuff, plus steak fries that were normal with just a bit of peel on them. Mushroom sauce also ready-made. My wife was also very disappointed with her dish. You might be willing to pay more because of Cologne and the Rhine, but then the food has to be good. So I can only say totally disappointed and a tourist rip-off. But as long as bachelor parties (including girls) still come through Cologne, these bars will exist, they're just bad. When it was cleared away, no one asked whether it was tasty. Was the only plus point. Not a second time for us. Oh yes, I don't want to talk about the service staff here, it seems to be common in such restaurants in Cologne.🤨

The waiter demands an outrageous tip. I have never seen a restaurant that asks me to pay 35 euros for a 25 euro meal.

We received friendly service here. However, the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. Food was cold and not cooked. But overpriced. Next time we won't go here.

We recently had breakfast here and chose the American and the large breakfast. To be honest, we didn't have too high expectations given the relatively low prices, but we were pleasantly surprised. The portions were sufficient, the selection was manageable, but everything was delicious. Anyone who expects a luxurious breakfast here for the price probably has unrealistic expectations. Instead, you get a good, home-style breakfast that is just right to start the day strengthened. The ambience right on the Rhine was a real highlight and rounded off the experience perfectly. The only downside were the toilets. These were more reminiscent of a construction site, were also quite narrow and could definitely use some improvement. Other than that, it was a lovely morning and we'd love to come back.

For my taste, the meat of the rump steak I got was good, but I think the presentation of just meat and fries was bad. You could come up with something else for the eye.

The food was inedible. Spaghetti with prawns. The spaghetti seemed from the day before, overcooked and tasteless. The prawns were not recognizable as such. My friend (salad with chicken) didn't like it either. It's impertinent to ask for money for this. Only the location scores.

Food is somewhat expensive, some of the waiters do not know how to serve the public (the Indian guys are the only ones who care about serving well), the bathrooms charge you 0.5 euros even though you have spent 80 euros on food.

This store is a complete disaster. Drinks wrong. Cocktails just bad. Eating was a huge disappointment. Best location on the Rhine and then this shop. So bad. The waiters are shouting at each other. Nobody feels responsible. Quality and service below all else. I'm not from Cologne but I don't understand how the people of Cologne accept something like that. Apparently quality doesn't count for the Cologne native

The food is good, but presented carelessly. The schnitzel is a schnitzel with fries, the steak is a steak with fries - nothing else. There is no side salad. As a Cologne resident, I wouldn't go there again, at least not because of the food. The place is of course special and the service is also very friendly and attentive.

Good food destination near to Köln Dom and city walk. Food was amazing and staff too. Walkable distance from Köln Bahnhof and cathedral. Restaurant location is in prime spot and you can find many restaurants nearby too and frontage of restaurant is one of the biggest tourist spot of Köln. Cruise tours City walk everything is nearby.

Terrible service. After 15 minutes waiting, the waiter yelled at us to wait and told us to leave with very unpleasant gestures. The place was empty and it should remain that way.

Eigentlich sollte es an diesem Tag ein schöner Abend werden worauf ich mich so gefreut habe da meine Mutter Geburtstag hatte. Aber leider war es ein riesiger totaler Rhein - fall Erstmal zum positiven: - sehr gemütlich und keine Laute Musik sodass man gemütlich reden konnte miteinander - auf wünsche werden eingegangen (wollte mein Fleisch komplett durch und nicht blutig/rosa) - die Bedienungen waren super freundlich Das war's aber auch ...jetzt kommen wir zu den anderen teil - Fleisch war wie gesagt super durch , aber mehr auch nicht .. es war total versalzen als wäre der Salzstreuer komplett drüber gegangen.. - ich wollte einen gemischten Salat, bekam einen sowas von trockenen Blattsalat mit 2 Scheiben gurke u eine Tomate in zwei Hälften...ein Tropfen Balsamico..kein Essig Öl oder sonst was .es hat nur nach Wasser geschmeckt...und das für 10€! - ich hab die Pommes abbestellt wurde aber nicht gefragt einmal ob ich vielleicht ne Ofenkartoffeln oder sonst was haben wollte ..Pommes bekam ich trotzdem mit Serviert hab ich dann nach bitte wieder runternehmen lassen. - Getränke: eine Cola Zero schmeckt nur mit Kohlensäure, diese hier schmeckte Lasch, abgestanden und schmeckte einfach nur alt Ich fragte auch nach der Flasche aber sie nehmen nur Krüge und zapfen die Getränke daraus, kein Wunder, jedes Getränk sollte frisch geöffnet werden Aber die Preise sind einfach viel zu hoch für solche Mini Portionen und das es nicht schmeckt. Ich bin sehr traurig drüber da ich mir so'n Abend ja nicht leisten kann außer diese Geburtstage 1x jährlich da hatte ich echt was leckeres gewünscht.. Woanders hätte ich wohl für billiger und mehr bekommen,besser essen und trinken können... Geld weg,Abend und besonderer Tag weg,kein schönes Geburtstag fest meiner Mutter 36€ für dieses versalzene Stück Fleisch (Pommes die ich ja abbestellt habe wurden trotzdem berechnet kein bisschen reduziert war ja nur Fleisch) und 10€ für Salat ohne Geschmack und Auswahl drinnen ... 3,90 für ne alte abgestandene Cola Zero..also ich bin ehrlich enttäuscht und für so teuer hätte ich Gefühlt 5x alles selber machen können und mehrere satt bekommen Unzufrieden und hungrig ging der Abend dann vorüber

It was actually supposed to be a nice evening that day, which I was so looking forward to because it was my mother's birthday. But unfortunately it was a huge, total fall of the Rhine First of all, the positive: - very comfortable and no loud music so you could chat comfortably with each other - requests are taken into account (I wanted my meat completely cooked through and not bloody/pink) - the waitresses were super friendly But that's it...now we come to the other t - As I said, the meat was really well done, but nothing more.. it was totally over salted, as if the salt shaker had gone completely over it.. - I wanted a mixed salad, got something like dry leaf lettuce with 2 slices of cucumber and a tomato in half...a few drops of balsamic vinegar which wasn't a dressing..no vinegar, oil or anything else.It just tasted like water - I canceled the fries but wasn't even asked if I wanted baked potatoes or something else. I still got fries served, so I asked for them to be taken down again. - Drinks: Cola Zero only tastes carbonated, this one tasted weak, stale and just plain old I also asked for the bottle but they pour the drinks out of jugs, no wonder there was no carbonation left because every drink should actually be freshly opened. The prices are just way too high for such mini portions and it doesn't taste good. I'm very sad about it because I can't afford an evening like that except for these birthdays once a year when I really wanted something delicious. I could probably have eaten and drank cheaper but better somewhere else... Money gone, evening and special day gone, no happy birthday for my mother 36€ for this over-salted piece of meat (French fries that I canceled were still charged, not a bit reduced, it was just meat) and 10€ for salad with no taste or selection inside... 3.90 for an old, stale Cola Zero...so I'm honestly disappointed and for so much it feels like I could have done everything myself 5 times and fed several people The evening went by unsatisfied and hungry

However despite actively looking at the menu and trying to catch the eye of several members of staff after 40min we gave up. During which time a table of 12 women were sat, orders taken and food started to be sent out! Managed to pay for our drinks and leave. Not sure why we were ignored, we are a couple, not being loud, we were sober. And I'd like to think being English wasn't the reason. Very very disappointed however there are much better restaurants in Köln with excellent service and food

Amazing! Food was top notch. Service was outstanding!

The three of us stopped in and were recommended a good spot where we could feel a bit of wind on the hot day. We had the tickets handed to us and ordered the drinks in advance. The food was then ordered, the customer toilet was used (not barrier-free) and payment for the food was made using an EC card. The salad for 8 euros consists of a few leaves of lettuce, some dressing (no name on the menu) and two or three small pieces of tomato/cucumber - the salad was not seasoned and not dressed. The portion of SURF AND TURF was very manageable and is not in relation to the price. The half lobster was very small and dry, the lobster garnish was not available at all but you had to handle it roughly with tongs and steak cutlery. The beef in the portion of SURF AND TURF, on the other hand, was really good in size and very tender, as ordered. The pieces of meat for the other two guests were also excellent.

The ambience outside was nice. However, some of the toilets were not functional, there were no toilet seats or the guests were asked to pay money. Unfortunately, the waiter only asked us once if we wanted something else to drink, even though we were a large group. And the food wasn't satisfactory for most of the group either. When we wanted to pay, we all had to say our names first, the waiter calculated by hand what we had to pay and then we had to go into the shop one by one to pay. With 15 people this took a really long time.

The schnitzel was good, but the cocktails and tiramisu were dissapointing. Service is quick, our waiter did not speak english which wasn't an issue for us, but might be for others. The view is nice.

Our first visit was in the afternoon for drinks and we did have a super waiter and had a good experience. However, we decided to return for our evening meal and wish we hadn't. The meals were very good and no complaints there but the waitress was rude, brought the wrong sized drink (Large not small) and tried to blame us for the mistake. We sat for a long time awaiting our bill and at no time were asked whether we wished to have a sweet menu, coffe etc... The waitress was sulen, unhelpful and quiet aggressive when we pointed out that the drink is only shown as a small on the menu and we paid and left. Such a shame, as it spoilt our visit and we wouldn't return again.! A smile and an apology would have changed the whole experience, it's a shame that she couldn't bring herself to give the same good service that we received earlier in the day.

Nice terrace on the Rhine. Pushy service, schnitzel dry and tough, wine not as expected from a wine and cocktail bar. Bill was without tip, waiter pointed it out to us and was not happy with the tip and asked for more. Never going back!

Service manager yelled at me and made anti-queer insults when I asked if I could use the toilet.

He forces you to pay to tip and they charge for the toilets even if you drink and the bottle of water cost 10 euros.

One star is too much, you wait 20 minutes for the drinks and the waiters are very rude. Unfortunately the cocktails don't taste good at all. Unfortunately it's the last resort for the location, which is a shame.

The waitress then heard the word Averna from us for the first time. What five men can do here could easily be done by one waitress alone... Really Punch and Judy Theater.

A reservation had been made outside for our group at a European conference. However, since some of the participants had already had a very long journey in the morning, a few people preferred to go back to the hotel, so that one of the tables pushed together was not needed. The food was very tasty, especially the cream of the baked potato. Everything well seasoned. As far as I can tell, everyone was happy with the food. Prices in Cologne are generally slightly higher than in other cities. I had the impression that the portions weren't overly large, but ok for women. It would also be nice to have some garnish on the plate for the eye, but there was a salad with it, so that was ok. Personally, I like the meat a little less well done, so it tended to be a little less juicy. The mushroom cream schnitzel lacks a bit of flavor and definitely fresh 🍋 lemon. But all in all delicious. Especially with large groups, you can convey a lot of positive attitude to life and a “warm welcome” with a smile and a cool saying. There's still room for improvement, especially if you're hoping for a good tip. The people of Cologne are proud of their “drink with one more” culture, right? That’s why I love Cologne!
