We had (once again) the rudest waiter of all. The food was okay, but the atmosphere on the terrace was unfortunately spoiled by the "poster scene" at Deutz station. It was difficult to have a conversation at times.

"Our Deutzer" is unfortunately no longer what it used to be. Many good Köbese are gone, and those who are still there are apparently no longer allowed to speak to regular customers, let alone share a Kölsch. Yes, I know... alcohol during working hours... But none of them come around with a wreath and just put a Kölsch on the table anymore - on the house. Only tourists there, few to no regulars anymore. Food typical of a brewery, Kölsch is outrageously expensive these days.

Excellent place next to the train station, with a super-large restaurant and terrace. The service is more than adequate. The menu is available in German and English, and there's a Moroccan waiter who speaks Spanish. The 1,200-gram roasted pork knuckle was superb, the burger was very good, and the plate of assorted sausages and chicken with potatoes and bacon were excellent. I recommend a visit if you're in Colonia.

I ordered farmer's brawn, which I didn't like at all. The fried potatoes were dry, and the brawn and remoulade sauce were nothing like what I'm used to. You could tell by the many leftovers on the plate, see photo. But the waiter didn't care when clearing the plate; he didn't even ask.

It's always worth stopping by for a beer. The ambiance is stylish for a brewery, especially on the outdoor terrace when the weather is nice. There are plenty of different seating options, which are assigned by the service staff according to the occasion. It should be mentioned in passing that the service staff also seem to feel at home here, as there is hardly any staff turnover. I've been coming here for years now, on a variety of occasions. The food ranges from Cologne snacks to steaks. There's something for every budget. Typical brewery fare. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the good work, "Team Deutzer Brauhaus."

Great beer garden, absolutely first-class food. Attentive waiter. It was very loud due to the "fans" after the handball games at LANXESS. It was a no-go that the otherwise pleasant waiter decided on his own tip when paying in cash.

Unfortunately, a disappointing visit. We wanted to sit outside – there were plenty of free tables. Nevertheless, we were told to sit on a bench without a table, which was obviously unsuitable for eating. A man with a tablet first asked us politely if we wanted something to eat – to which we agreed. Scarcely had we sat down (at a free table) when a young woman approached and asked us to get up because "her boss" had told us to sit somewhere else. When the man returned later, he asked what we wanted to eat – but didn't take our order, apparently feeling "cheated." The entire staff seemed unfriendly, annoyed, and unmotivated – more like bouncers than hosts. The drinks were okay, the food was delicious – but the service was so unpleasant that we certainly won't be coming back.

Incredibly friendly staff and excellent food. Despite a time constraint, our food was taken care of immediately and brought in no time. I've rarely experienced such good service. I'd be happy to come back next time I'm passing through!

Wonderful weather and fresh Kölsch

A beautiful restaurant with a large outdoor area. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. Ideal for lunch or dinner. We really enjoyed it and felt at home.

A lovely beer garden location. There are several parking spaces available, which are free with a code when eating. The service was very friendly, and the food was delicious. For me, the portions were relatively small, and the price was too high. Even for small meals, a small drink usually costs more than €10. It wasn't too loud, and it was easy to have a good conversation. The food and drinks arrived quickly.

There's hardly a better place to while away the time waiting for a train. Clean, fast, friendly, good, and a large selection of food at reasonable prices. Worth a visit even without traveling.

I stepped off the Deutz train station platform and straight into the brewery. For me, as a northerner, it was a brief culture shock. I was greeted and seated in a friendly but unusually relaxed manner. The Kölsch beer didn't take long to arrive, and a new one was promptly served as my glass was nearing empty. My expectations were fully met – I'll definitely try the house food on my next visit. Thank you for the great service and the pleasant afternoon.

Going to a brewery spontaneously... Is that a good idea??? Well... when you have to eat under time pressure, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Aside from that, the schnitzel my daughter ordered was tasteless. The fries didn't get a visit from Mr. Salt either due to lack of time. As for the savoy cabbage roll... okay... but there's room for improvement... the mashed potatoes were very good. Let's briefly talk about the drinks... perhaps revisit the ratio of water, syrup, and carbonation. Because nothing was right with the soft drinks. All in all... unfortunately, a disappointment.

We were there on a Friday evening, and I have to say it's a great place. I rarely give 5 stars, but this one is appropriate. The staff was fantastic. Super nice, friendly, and attentive. The food was (mine was excellent), my wife's was good, but I've had better asparagus. I'm not including that in the rating, though, since it's a brewery, not an asparagus farm ;) The prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be back 👍🏻 keep it up.

I'd recommend it anytime if you prefer healthy, home-style cooking, along with Gaffel Kölsch beer. They also have good outdoor seating, and it's right next to the train station. The service has always been very good. In Cologne, that's Köbes.

I've visited the Deutzer Brauhaus several times over the past few years. They offer typical brewery dishes, which have always been good. The staff is friendly, but also has that commanding tone that you expect from a Cologne brewery. I don't mean that in a negative way. Since the brewery is quite busy in the evenings and on weekends, perhaps it sometimes has to be that way. That's also something to be aware of: with a lot of visitors, it can be quite loud. But that's something we've come to expect from breweries in Cologne. The ambiance is typical of a brewery and fits perfectly. The Deutzer Brauhaus offers solid food, an authentic Cologne atmosphere, and that typical brewery charm – loud, lively, and welcoming. If you're looking for a real Cologne feeling, this is the place for you.

We had the impression that the glasses had been rinsed with dirty water, so you could even smell it and, of course, taste it. Of course, we could be wrong, but when the waiter says "no, that's not the case" without even smelling it and just leaves, that's pretty rude. Unfortunately, that impression sticks. Food OK. Ambience quite nice.

Good beer, excellent food, great atmosphere. Dear management, you employed an impertinent waitress (wearing black). He first put me off and then loudly and condescendingly insulted me. He was unable to articulate what had made him so angry. He was unable to talk objectively. An hour earlier, I had observed him exhibiting the same behavior toward another guest. It may have stemmed from a misunderstanding—in any case, you simply don't do that when dealing with guests. The waiters (wearing white), on the other hand, were all great. :-) Unfortunately, what remains in my memory is the minute-long, extremely low-level tirade of abuse.

This used to be a really nice brewery. These days, however, this restaurant has nothing in common with a Cologne brewery. Even when the place is completely empty, you're not allowed to sit wherever you want. Once you're assigned a seat, it feels like an eternity before you finally get a Kölsch. I was there for almost an hour and only managed to get two pints of Kölsch (€2.30 per Kölsch). In my opinion, only very well-paying trade fair visitors, visitors, and tourists are welcome here. A real shame!

The food was perfectly fine. The Kölsch beer was fine too, but at the end of the day, you're sent out like a complete jerk. Don't get me wrong, the service was friendly and attentive. The guys in black, presumably responsible for security, behaved absolutely awfully! Next time I'm in Cologne, I won't be going to the Deutzer Brauhaus!

We were at the Deutzer Brauhaus Essen before an event in the Lanxess Arena. It is recommended to make a reservation there on weekends. We still got a place without a reservation. The ambience is very modern for a brewery. The service is typical Cologne. You are immediately offered a Kölsch and greeted. The menu includes something for everyone. The food is really of good quality. My husband had steak with asparagus and the meat was super tender and fried very medium. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for the food because it was very busy at the time. At the end, Köbes sincerely apologized again for the waiting time. We would be happy to come back to the next event in the Lanxess Arena.

Very good food. Typical German food. They have the kitchen open until late. If there are events it goes to full capacity. It is very large and has a terrace, although with that it is better to reserve.

Unexpectedly, there was still room. Be careful at 9:00 p.m. on a Sunday, the kitchen was closed. No dessert. As for the cuisine, the dishes we had were great. The shank seemed delicious to me, even too much. I stuck with Spießbraten vom Schwein, spit roast pork. But many of the dishes we saw passed were appetizing The waitress Victoria did everything to understand us, really nice. The German language and us, how can I say.... So ultimately the restaurant is a little noisy, but it has to be done.

As a Cologne resident you would initially keep your distance. A brewery right next to the Deutz train station must be overrun with tourists and have little tradition - then it's better to go to Lommi, which is right around the corner. I was here just like that, with a JGA and on several business meetings - every time it's really good. The premises make you quickly forget the train station, the team is as you would expect from a Köbes but authentic and not constantly over-the-top and the food is in the upper third of the breweries. In short: it is definitely a recommendation.

A short beer before departure or after arrival, yes, but that's it... the service is completely wrong, it's supposed to have a rough taste, but it's rather tasteless, just like the food.

Delicious food, nice ambience and friendly staff. It is very busy, I would make a reservation with a larger group. I can highly recommend the giant currywurst with fries, the crispy chicken with fries and the Bailagen salad. Of course, since it is a brewery, there is also hearty food such as knuckles with dumplings, schnitzel "Viennese style" or Himmel un Ääd, which also looked very tasty. The price-performance ratio is great, we would come again.
