A charming brewery in Deutz train station. Fast service, delicious food, and plenty of seating. Ideal not only for passing the time until your next train, but also for a hearty meal. We found the brewery somewhat hidden behind a bakery stall in the station and would definitely come back.

We were a group of 14 today after the Intermot trade fair and had a reserved table upstairs. It was very convivial, the food arrived on time, and the service was very attentive and quick, even though the brewery was really busy on St. Nicholas' Day, Saturday. Definitely recommended.

We've been driving 200 kilometers for years to be there and enjoy the food with a good Kölsch. The atmosphere couldn't be better, and the waiters always have a kind word. Thank you for being there!

Typical brewery style with hearty and delicious food. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We were a group of 13. The price was higher for us because we all had appetizers; many had dessert, and everyone had coffee at the end. Only the mouse in the dining room led to a deduction in our rating.

A typical Cologne brewery. It was quite busy. We hadn't made a reservation and were just passing through. The food arrived quickly and tasted excellent.

This is a local German restaurant inside the busy Cologne Train Station, but unfortunately my experience was not good. I ordered the pork knuckle with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The skin was very crispy, and the meat inside was tender, but it had almost no flavour — it tasted like it had been boiled for too long. When I asked for a traditional beer, the waiter replied rudely with only “alcohol or non-alcohol,” without explaining any of the options. There were at least 10 beers on the menu, so I had no idea which one he chose for me. Another issue was the service system. There were many staff members walking around, but apparently only few “senior” waiters were allowed to take orders, so I had to wait a long time just to place mine. The worst part was the bill. They charged me for two beers even though I only ordered one. It felt very dishonest. I checked the small electronic device when paying, but you can’t see the quantity on the tiny screen. Luckily, I asked for a printed receipt after paying, and only then I noticed the mistake. When I pointed it out, the waiter gave me the extra money back immediately — but if I hadn’t checked, I would never have known. Overall, the food was average, the service was rude, and the billing experience was very disappointing. I would not return, and I don’t recommend this place to others.

The brewery is huge. Nevertheless, reservations are recommended, especially in the evenings and on weekends. The brewery has a modern interior. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. It's okay, but for me, that implies a somewhat rustic feel. The food was good, exactly what you'd expect when you go to a brewery. The service was sometimes very attentive and good, but there were also some very reserved people on staff. Perhaps a smile or two more would be appreciated, and I've definitely experienced a better level of customer service elsewhere.

Eleventh of November. Admittedly expensive, but top-notch. The toilets are so clean you can sit down. Not a second without a beer. Perfect.

A lovely brewery in a central location with direct train access. The food is very good, the prices are reasonable, and the service is efficient.

The waiters did their best on a day when the place was packed. The food arrived quickly and tasted good, however, I consider a price of over €15 for two small slices of Camembert to be outrageous. I can make something similar at home for €4 – and it will be just as filling and delicious. I'm quite disappointed.

Great brewery. We only ate meat rolls; they were generously topped.

Typical brewery pub. Mass catering. You can only expect mediocre food there. The cordon bleu was way overcooked. The fried potatoes were very greasy and cold. The mixed grill consisted entirely of very fatty pieces. The only bright spot was the waiter. Better to eat somewhere else.

The Kölsch is the best: Gaffel. Some of the staff are very grumpy and unfriendly, others very friendly. Probably depends on the time of day 😉

We had to go to Cologne/Messe-Deutz station because the main station was closed. The restaurant is right in/at the station. We got a table immediately even though it was packed. The waiters were very friendly, and the food at the next table looked very appealing. Since we only had an hour to wait for the train, we only drank Kölsch. Therefore, no food review.

We had a wonderful end to our company event there. The drinks were excellent, and our contact person was friendly, polite, and unobtrusive throughout. The 21 dishes arrived almost simultaneously, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return.

On November 16th at 10:45 AM, I ordered a cappuccino and a mineral water there. Since I only wanted a drink, I was seated at a tiny table with a bar stool against the wall, while the couples around me (all also only ordering hot drinks) were sitting at regular tables in comfortable chairs. The waiter, who appeared to be of Mediterranean descent, was incredibly rude. He came within a meter of me, I ordered "a cappuccino and...", but before I could even say that I also wanted a mineral water, he turned around and was almost gone. The mineral water was then practically slammed down on the table in a glass, spilling over. No reaction whatsoever. Sorry, it was relatively empty. The service was appalling and unfriendly. Perhaps the brewery survives because travelers from the train station frequent it. Otherwise, well...

A truly fantastic location. The food – pork knuckle, mashed potatoes with sauerkraut – was absolutely delicious. We were even able to share a portion upon request. That was very nice. The staff was very attentive despite the large number of guests. If I lived in Cologne, I would definitely come here very often.

The place was packed before the R. Kaiser concert. But we managed to get a spot at the standing table near the bar and some food too (the usher said we were fully booked). It worked out after all! The waiter was super friendly! I forgot to mention: the schnitzel was fantastic. I really didn't expect that from a "brewery" restaurant! 👍 Update November 2025: On a Sunday evening, it felt rather lackluster. You had to practically wave your arms and keep a sharp eye out for a server to get every Kölsch. A shame. The place also has more of a train station atmosphere. But that's intentional. If that's your thing.

It gets very crowded, especially in the evenings and late afternoons. Reservations are recommended. The service is quick and always friendly. They even ask if you'd like a Kölsch. So, basically a "light" version of a brewery! 😂 We always enjoy going there.

The food was delicious, but if you like a larger portion, you should order an appetizer and/or dessert. The portions are quite small, but they're filling. The staff wasn't very visible... but they were very friendly! The atmosphere is lovely.

Today was my first time there. A definite 5 stars! The service by the woman (I think her name was Silva) was fantastic! She took care of the guests with so much heart and empathy. The food was also delicious. Even the fries were top-notch; I've rarely eaten such good fries.

I was at Deutz train station yesterday. The bread roll was delicious. As expected for the price. The staff, however, displayed disrespectful and condescending behavior. Absolutely unacceptable!

It's always nice to eat good Kölsch here when you're an emigrant back home. Even if sometimes you only drink two pairs of Kölsch while waiting for a connection.

There's a direct entrance to the pub from the train station, which is great. The service was good, and I saw a female waiter for the first time – keep it up! The food was lukewarm; that needs improvement. On the plus side, it's only 12 minutes from the LANXESS Arena. 👍🍺

Great location for concerts at the Lanxess Arena or the Tanzbrunnen. The ambiance: it's typical chain restaurant fare, not a traditional brewery pub. Service varies between attentive and slow. The food is good, but the value for money is rather poor.

They charge us more for 8 glasses of water than for beer, and we've paid over €3 for tap water; they're scammers, to say the least.

Finally, I was back in a great pub with delicious steak tartare. And by pub, I don't mean a run-down place, but a cozy spot to sit together (even with complete strangers) and enjoy a beer or two. The Kölsch was practically on a continuous flow, and who could possibly say no to that? We spent a very pleasant 1.5 hours there before our train departed. We'd love to go back again.

A very bad experience. We won't even comment on the quality—the price was average, verging on expensive. What we find truly outrageous is charging €3.30 for each glass of water. They could have brought a bottle, or at least indicated the price if they didn't have any. Paying €3.30 for eight glasses, totaling €26.40, is exorbitant, and the waitress Antonia should have informed us of these prices. We are foreigners here for work and expected better service. Furthermore, they pressured us to pay a tip. Disgraceful!

Everything was good, the service was attentive, the food was good, and the atmosphere worthy of a brewery 😊 One small criticism: if you advertise Rievkoche as freshly prepared on the menu, they shouldn't just be slightly warmed. Unfortunately, in my case, although they were otherwise crispy and delicious, they were only lukewarm.

The food was simply outstanding: fresh, delicious, and typically Cologne – exactly what you'd expect from a brewery. The ambiance is also impressive: cozy, authentic, yet sophisticated. The location is excellent – ​​right in Deutz, with a beautiful view and perfect accessibility from, for example, the cathedral, the old town, or the Lanxess Arena.

We were in town on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and visited the brewery. The modern interior and stylish design invite you to linger. The current menu delights with seasonal dishes. The dishes were all very generous and fairly priced. The staff were all very friendly, and with their typical "Klösche" humor, the atmosphere was very good. We would be happy to come back.

Bustling brewery. The pork knuckle is very good, but the mashed potatoes taste like instant mashed potatoes. The chocolate mousse dessert isn't good at all. Service is very good and friendly.

We went to the Brauhaus yesterday because we wanted to eat before a concert, and all the restaurants around the Theater am Tanzbrunnen were completely empty. We sat in the beer garden, which is now covered and sheltered. The staff was very friendly and quick. The food looked good on the menu, but when it arrived, we were bitterly disappointed. Overcooked, tasteless, and nowhere near as described on the menu. Disgusting. Out of there, never again!!

The food is OK, but the prices are a bit steep for what's on offer. There's no seating, even for larger groups.

All in all, it was good. It's a bit louder than elsewhere, but that's completely normal given the constant coming and going of travelers.

The Deutzer Brauhaus is always busy, and the service is often good to excellent. There are many classic dishes, and there are a few, but delicious, vegan and vegetarian options. It's worth making reservations early before KEC games or events at the LANXESS Arena.
