Super friendly service! Food arrived extremely quickly and it was one of the best breweries I've ever been to.

We were delighted by the friendliness of the service. The food was delicious.

We had a table for 8 people. We were in a separate room, which was very pleasant.

Great, hearty food, the Kölsch glass was never empty (service was friendly and efficient)... ideally located to then experience an event in the Lanxess Arena (10 min. walk)... today was Carnival, so a bit louder, but there were colorful costumes to see...

Deutzer Brauhaus at Cologne Messe/Deutz train station offers an authentic Cologne brewery experience right on the platform, ideal for a stop before or after your train journey. The Kölsch was perfectly poured and pleasantly fresh, the meatball hearty and a perfect match for the hearty, traditional Rhineland cuisine. Particularly impressive was the exceptionally friendly yet highly professional service, which conveyed a sense of calm, organization, and genuine hospitality even amidst the typical hustle and bustle of a train station. Overall, it's a place where you feel truly welcome despite its train station setting, and one that can be recommended for both a quick beer and a relaxing evening.

We went there for the New Year's Eve buffet and everything was fantastic: The buffet had a delicious selection (from roast beef and fine fish to a wide variety of salads, raw vegetables, and vegetables for the vegetarian in our group, plus a diverse cheese platter and homemade desserts). The waiters and buffet staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The brewery's decor is lovely – more rustic standing tables downstairs, and good (and last night beautifully decorated) dining areas upstairs, and they serve Gaffel Kölsch! At midnight, it was just a few steps to the Rhine to enjoy the fireworks, or alternatively, you could watch the spectacle from afar on their terrace (though the view was somewhat obstructed). The only thing we missed was perhaps a bit of music for dancing and moving around before and around midnight.

The menu included cordon bleu and fries, which probably came straight from the freezer, while the other food was overcooked, dry, and of poor quality. The service took half an hour to take the first order and was otherwise slow and inattentive. I can't fathom how anyone would voluntarily go there.

Yesterday, the three of us went to the brewery and were very politely offered a table in the bar. Unfortunately, the second Kölsch we received was about 2 cm below the fill line. We tried to point this out to the Köbes (more of a waiter than a Köbes), who had been polite up to that point. At that moment, his mood changed abruptly to rude, moody, and snappy. He said, "It's FULL!" Before filling it almost to the brim at the table, he added, "I've got enough beer." The next Kölsch were fine, and we thought things were better, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Another one arrived that was significantly below the fill line. When we tried to speak to the Köbes again, we were completely ignored. We then complained to the colleague who had taken reservations (presumably the restaurant manager). The Köbes overheard this, and his hospitality completely vanished. Our friend had meanwhile put his lid on his glass, as he'd lost his appetite for Kölsch. The waiter, who had become almost aggressive, didn't care. He knocked the lid off the glass, accidentally hitting our friend with his striking hand, and the lid narrowly missed him. The lid rule was now completely irrelevant to him. He was determined to get a full Kölsch to the table at all costs. The restaurant manager apologized and offered us a free round, saying that they would discuss the behavior afterward. Then the waiter told us, "You'd better leave now, as we apparently can't meet your expectations," and asked us to leave the brewery. Which we did. Unfortunately, it's not possible to give less than one star.

The waiter's service was unfortunately not very friendly. My coffee was served lukewarm. I got the impression that the waiter wasn't in a good mood for dealing with guests. Due to the unfriendly reception and lack of attention, I didn't place another order.

From the greeting to the payment, all employees are extremely friendly and helpful in every respect; the Bauhaus seemed very professionally managed to me; as a guest, you are the focus; the food was very tasty, prepared very quickly, the glasses were never empty; there were four of us there and we all felt comfortable.

Goulash soup usually contains pieces of meat, but this was just a portion of goulash sauce. The menu says "the original from the Puszta hut," which should mean 43% meat. What was served was at most 3%. The waiter was helpful and offered to discuss the matter with the kitchen. The second attempt had 5% meat—disappointing. The photo shows everything I found in 400ml.

We can only give 5 stars! After a leg injury, we visited the Brauhaus Deutz. They immediately offered us a different table. The waiter was so courteous. The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended! We've been there three times now and will gladly return.

We only stopped in for a quick drink... as we had booked a buffet elsewhere. I really like the atmosphere and the service is very efficient. I'd gladly come back.... Update... after a year, I was back and I'm still thrilled! I also tried the potato soup with garnish this time; it was tasty, but the garnish was very meager! This needs improvement.

Excellent service and the Himmel & Ääd (mashed potatoes and applesauce) was absolutely delicious. It was a bit of a shame that we hadn't made a reservation and ended up sitting in the conservatory right behind the curling rink. But everything else was practically perfect.

I was there for curling followed by a buffet, and it was a perfect evening/night from beginning to end. The food, whether meat or vegetables, was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were delicious. There was a great selection of salads and desserts afterward.

We must have caught the waitress on a bad day. She seemed completely uninterested in taking our order, listlessly cleared our table after we finished eating, and repeatedly refused to pay before walking away. While the food looked appealing, the contents—mushy tomatoes and lettuce with brown edges—were not recommended. It was served with only a thin slice of bread, which, compared to the overall amount of food, could only be described as "crumbs." The price was definitely not justified. The restaurant itself is visually interesting. It's worth a visit, but certainly not a must-visit!

As always...everyone was in a great mood...super friendly...And the food was delicious too... We'll be back.

During a train journey with a layover of about two hours in Cologne, I had the perfect opportunity to visit the Deutzer Brauhaus again – and it was well worth it once more. I've been there in various configurations: both as a couple and in a larger group. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for groups. Regardless, you should plan on spending at least an hour there, particularly if you want to enjoy a leisurely meal and a few Kölsch beers. The ambiance is classic brewery fare – exactly as you'd expect. Rustic, lively, and authentic. I personally love this atmosphere. I can't comment on the restrooms, as I didn't use them on this visit. When it comes to food, I go to a brewery primarily for the hearty, traditional cuisine – and that's precisely what you get here. And of course, freshly tapped Kölsch, just as it should be. The service deserves special mention: the staff is attentive and efficient, so you don't have to wait long for either your drinks or your food. Very loud, very hectic, more like mass processing, unfortunately lacking in soul. As soon as one of our group of ten finished eating, their plate was immediately cleared away. You get the feeling that you're expected to clear the table quickly.

It was very crowded and therefore quite noisy in the brewery, but we received excellent and prompt service. Many thanks to the young and motivated waitress.

Last week, after visiting a trade fair, I went to the Deutzer Brauhaus with some friends. It was quite crowded, so it's definitely worth reserving a table beforehand. The brewery is very cozy and the atmosphere is pleasant. Despite the crowd, it took a little longer for the Kölsch to arrive, but everything else was absolutely fantastic: My schnitzel was really delicious, and my friends were also completely satisfied with their meals. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here.

We were at the Deutzer Brauhaus with a group of 15, and it was simply fantastic! The food was excellent, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the service absolutely top-notch. A particularly nice touch: we got our table back after playing curling. Everything went smoothly and was handled very kindly. A truly wonderful evening – we'll definitely be back!

It wasn't bad at all, except that they ran out of Kölsch after 10 pm, even though the brewery is open until midnight. We've never experienced that before. Saturday, December 5, 2025, 7 people. Therefore, only 4 out of 5 stars.

A very nice brewery. The food was delicious. It was just brought to the table a bit too quickly. But that wasn't a big deal. The acoustics are quite loud, but you are sitting in a brewery after all. Overall, I can definitely recommend it.

Very good menu. We loved the schnitzel and the price is also affordable. Location is a good point (we had to catch an international train) and we found it very convenient to come to the station earlier.

We were a group of 14 today after the Intermot trade fair and had a reserved table upstairs. It was very convivial, the food arrived on time, and the service was very attentive and quick, even though the brewery was really busy on St. Nicholas' Day, Saturday. Definitely recommended.

This is a local German restaurant inside the busy Cologne Train Station, but unfortunately my experience was not good. I ordered the pork knuckle with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The skin was very crispy, and the meat inside was tender, but it had almost no flavour — it tasted like it had been boiled for too long. When I asked for a traditional beer, the waiter replied rudely with only “alcohol or non-alcohol,” without explaining any of the options. There were at least 10 beers on the menu, so I had no idea which one he chose for me. Another issue was the service system. There were many staff members walking around, but apparently only few “senior” waiters were allowed to take orders, so I had to wait a long time just to place mine. The worst part was the bill. They charged me for two beers even though I only ordered one. It felt very dishonest. I checked the small electronic device when paying, but you can’t see the quantity on the tiny screen. Luckily, I asked for a printed receipt after paying, and only then I noticed the mistake. When I pointed it out, the waiter gave me the extra money back immediately — but if I hadn’t checked, I would never have known. Overall, the food was average, the service was rude, and the billing experience was very disappointing. I would not return, and I don’t recommend this place to others.

The brewery is huge. Nevertheless, reservations are recommended, especially in the evenings and on weekends. The brewery has a modern interior. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. It's okay, but for me, that implies a somewhat rustic feel. The food was good, exactly what you'd expect when you go to a brewery. The service was sometimes very attentive and good, but there were also some very reserved people on staff. Perhaps a smile or two more would be appreciated, and I've definitely experienced a better level of customer service elsewhere.

Great brewery. We only ate meat rolls; they were generously topped.

Typical brewery pub. Mass catering. You can only expect mediocre food there. The cordon bleu was way overcooked. The fried potatoes were very greasy and cold. The mixed grill consisted entirely of very fatty pieces. The only bright spot was the waiter. Better to eat somewhere else.

The waiters did their best on a day when the place was packed. The food arrived quickly and tasted good, however, I consider a price of over €15 for two small slices of Camembert to be outrageous. I can make something similar at home for €4 – and it will be just as filling and delicious. I'm quite disappointed.

The Kölsch is the best: Gaffel. Some of the staff are very grumpy and unfriendly, others very friendly. Probably depends on the time of day 😉

We had a wonderful end to our company event there. The drinks were excellent, and our contact person was friendly, polite, and unobtrusive throughout. The 21 dishes arrived almost simultaneously, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return.

We had to go to Cologne/Messe-Deutz station because the main station was closed. The restaurant is right in/at the station. We got a table immediately even though it was packed. The waiters were very friendly, and the food at the next table looked very appealing. Since we only had an hour to wait for the train, we only drank Kölsch. Therefore, no food review.

On November 16th at 10:45 AM, I ordered a cappuccino and a mineral water there. Since I only wanted a drink, I was seated at a tiny table with a bar stool against the wall, while the couples around me (all also only ordering hot drinks) were sitting at regular tables in comfortable chairs. The waiter, who appeared to be of Mediterranean descent, was incredibly rude. He came within a meter of me, I ordered "a cappuccino and...", but before I could even say that I also wanted a mineral water, he turned around and was almost gone. The mineral water was then practically slammed down on the table in a glass, spilling over. No reaction whatsoever. Sorry, it was relatively empty. The service was appalling and unfriendly. Perhaps the brewery survives because travelers from the train station frequent it. Otherwise, well...
