Großartige deutsche Küche und für mich das wichtigste sie waren flexibel. Große Leckere Portionen.

Wir waren nach einer anstrengenden Fahrradtour hier essen und alles war super vom essen bis zum Personal

Das Essen und die Geschichte dieses Ortes haben mir sehr gefallen!

Leckeres Fleisch auf heißem Stein, wir kommen wieder! Personal war freundlich und die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm.

Ich habe die hauseigene Spezialität des Steaks auf Stein genossen. Und das trifft es sehr gut, es war eine Genuss. Service durchweg freundlich und aufmerksam.

Ein wunderbares Abendessen. Ausgezeichnetes Essen, Getränke und Service!

Nettes Personal und gutes Essen mit einer perfekten Auswahl um mit kleinen Kindern essen zu gehen.

Kleines Speiselokal mit Geschichte,

Sehr leckeres Essen. Das Rindersteak war perfekt medium rare gebraten. Die Rösti ist absolut empfehlenswert. Insgesamt ein tolles Erlebnis, wenn man die schmackhafte regionale Küche probieren möchte.

Ein sehr rustikales Ambiente mit einem tollen Steak auf dem heißen Stein. Der Garpunkt und die Qualität des Rindfleischs waren optimal und auch die Beilagen waren sehr lecker. Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen.

Sehr leckeres essen (Steak auf heissem stein)

Mir hat es leider nicht geschmeckt. Das Rösti war nur Käse und sehr sehr deftig. Das Schwäbische Schmankerl war in Ordnung. Dafür sitzt man schön.

Etwas abseits der Touristenpfade. Köstliches Essen und freundlicher Service.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Der Service war sehr schlecht. Zuerst mussten wir eine halbe Ewigkeit alleine auf die Speisekarte warten, obwohl nichts los war. Dann haben wir die falschen Getränke erhalte, obwohl wir nur zu 2. waren und lediglich 1 anderer Tisch mit 2 Personen bedient werden musste. Der Kellner musste auch nochmals nachfragen was wir bestellt haben. Danach haben wir unser Besteck auf einer benutzten Serviette erhalten. Der Kellner war hinter der Theke am essen und hat uns gleichzeitig bedient. Das Essen war gut, aber die Rösti sind im Öl geschwommen.

Flammkuchen und grosser Salat war sehr lecker

Habe gerade hier gegessen, Putenschnitzel (Pute mit Nudeln), Pizza und Getränke, ausgezeichneter Service, schöne Atmosphäre und hervorragender Service....

Das Steak auf dem heißen Stein war wunderbar. Das Rösti war auch gut aber etwas zu sehr in Fett getränkt.

Wir hatten jeweils einen kleinen Salat und den Zwiebelrostbraten mit Rösti. Speißen waren superfrisch und lecker. Der Zwiebelrostbraten zart und genau auf den Punkt Medium gebraten. Bei unserem nächsten Konstanz besuch werden wir dieses Lokal auf jedenfall wieder besuchen.

Hier findet man wirklich gute bürgerliche Küche:) unser Schnitzel mit Pommes war hervorragend und Preis Leistung stimmt hier noch vollkommen. Wir kommen wieder!

Restaurant Zur Wendelgard ist für uns ein echter Geheimtipp in Konstanz, bei dem Preis und Leistung noch wirklich zusammenpassen. Wir gehen seit Jahren immer wieder gerne dorthin und fühle uns jedes Mal rundum wohl. Die Atmosphäre ist herzlich, das Essen konstant sehr gut, und der Service aufmerksam und freundlich. Genau so stellt man sich ein Restaurant vor, in das man gerne zurückkommt. Herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team. Fam. Gross wie Klein ;)

Wir haben dort zu Mittag gegessen. Es war sehr gut. Am besten hat uns die Rösti geschmeckt.

Reservierung empfehlenswert! Sehr schnelle Bedienung. Innerhalb einer Stunde bestellt, serviert, gegessen und gezahlt. Freundlicher Service und guter Tipp für heisser Stein.

Das Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker. Im Internet stand, dass glutenfreie Gerichte kein Problem seien. In der Praxis stellte sich jedoch heraus, dass es nur sehr wenige tatsächlich glutenfreie Optionen gab. Bei vielen Gerichten wurde vorgeschlagen, die Soßen einfach wegzulassen, was leider keine zufriedenstellende Lösung ist. Ein Stück Fleisch mit Pommes ohne Soße oder weitere Beilage rechtfertigt für mich keinen Restaurantbesuch. Sehr schade, denn geschmacklich wäre hier mehr möglich gewesen. Als Anregung: Viele Soßen ließen sich problemlos glutenfrei zubereiten, zum Beispiel durch die Verwendung von Kartoffelstärke anstelle von herkömmlicher Stärke. Das würde das Angebot deutlich aufwerten und dann gibt es auch 5 Sterne.

Sehr freundliches Team Essen war gut

Haben spontan angerufen und einen Tisch in 30 Minuten bekommen. Service war gut. Essen und Getränke wurden schnell aufgenommen und gebracht. Das Steak auf heißem Stein war sehr lecker, ebenso das panierte Schnitzel. Sehr zart und die Beilagen schmeckten auch super. Empfehlenswert!

Wir kommen mehrmals jährlich nach Konstanz, dass Wendelgard gehört mittlerweile zu unserem Stammlokal. Das Essen ist hervorragend, es wird wirklich jeder Wunsch erfüllt und die Betreiber sind ganz liebenswerte Menschen, ihr Sohn der Florian haben wir ganz besonders ins Herz geschlossen, dieses Lokal ist ganz einfach sehr empfehlenswert, immer wieder Wendelgard👍

Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant etwas abseits in einer Hintergasse. Wir hatten nicht reserviert und mussten 15 Minuten warten. Doch diese Wartezeit hat sich mehrfach gelohnt. Wir kommen wieder

Cosy, old tavern. Visited for an evening meal and a few drinks. I had the steak which was lovely, served on a hot block. The two blokes running the bar and food were really friendly and accommodating. I suspect in the season this place is packed as it has all the charm you should have in a lovely city like this. We stayed for a few more weissbiers because the service was so good.

Very nice meal, good food. They have some specialties like hot stone massages. Be aware that if you don't speak German, there's no internet in the restaurant, making it impossible to translate the menu. And the waiter isn't there to help you...

Small but nice. We went there because of the good reviews and were not disappointed. The Alsatian tarte flambée is very good, with pizza toppings, and tastes truly delicious. The ambiance is pleasant, and the service is good. Highly recommended!

I visited twice during my stay and was very satisfied both times. Friendly service and good food. The price/performance ratio was right for me. It was pleasantly rustic, yet also quite warm.

Located in the heart of Konstanz's old town, in the Niederburg district. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is very attentive and friendly. Popular with tourists and locals alike. The specialty is definitely the meat cooked on a hot stone. Fish is also available, but there are certainly better alternatives in Konstanz.

Super delicious schnitzel, which was extremely fresh. The fries and salad were also very good. You could also sit outside, and the tables and chairs were also of good quality. The server was extremely friendly. An all-around satisfactory experience!

Had some deep fried fish (fish n chips style, "Fischknusperli") and a steak and rösti: the "Heißer Stein 'Wendelgard'". The steak comes on a hot stone and you can keep cooking it to how you like from its initial medium-rare state. Very tasty. Nice assorted herbal butters to dip the meat in.

Very nice food, huge portions, friendly staff. Got us an extra table to sit outside, while all the others were busy. Kid's schnitzel was also huge. Käsespätzli were great, as well as flammkuchen and Fischknusperli.

The roast beef with onions and the schnitzel with fries were very good. 👍 My wife thought the schnitzel was too big, so I got some of it. Although my roast beef with onions wasn't small!

The steak on the hot stone tempted us, and what can I say: it was an excellent decision. The restaurant is cozy, the service friendly and fast. The steak from the stone was excellent and medium rare (it's automatically served that way). The dips come in three small bowls and all taste good, as do the vegetables and wedges. The side dishes are generous. The steak is highly recommended, and the value for money is very good.

Siamo entrati per caso, bel locale tipico. Servizio puntuale e disponibile. Carne veramente ottima (cercherei di migliorare le salse) servita su piastra calda. Prezzo adeguato. Veramente soddisfatti.

First dinner in Costanza, good value for money, very nice, helpful and kind waiters, they didn't have an English menu, but they translated it at the time at the table. 2 fillet medallions that were like butter, they melted in your mouth with the addition of rosti and sauces, delicious!! Money well spent, excellent meat, really recommended!!

Even if I were really hungry, I wouldn't want to go there again! Price performance is not right! Service and cuisine is Eastern European! So taciturn and boring. We had onion roast with rösti. We range from 1 to 10 Max. 3 levels!

Lovely place in center of Constance, food was great. Was busy even at 7pm which is always a good sign. Practical tip for those who don’t speak German, as they didn’t speak English or French. So make sure you use your translation app on your phone to understand the menu. You can also ask them for the guest WiFi code.

Went here spontaneously last night as a couple, nice reception, food was "cheap" and, above all, super tasty, something we haven't managed to do in Konstanz so far in 3 evenings :-) Keep it up!

Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen und ein gemütliches Gasthaus zum verweilen. Preis Leistung super, sind alle mehr als satt geworden.

In gita dalla Svizzera, non ci è sembrato vero di pranzare in un ristorante a prezzi...umani. Abbiamo gustato un'ottima cotoletta con patate e un buonissimo strudel. Carne delicata e gustosa, patatine fritte per nulla pesanti, insalata come da tradizione (cetrioli, insalata, pomodoro e salsina d'ordinanza), uno strudel ottimo diviso in due, 2 belle birre e, udite, udite, un caffè come Dio comanda. 30 euro a testa. Ottimo. Locale simpatico ed ospitale, servizio puntuale.

Very nice, rustic restaurant with great food. The owners and staff were also very nice. It's very cozy there and the food is really tasty. We had hash browns - one vegetarian and one with bacon. It was all very tasty. I can recommend.

Wir waren am Samstagabend als Familie dort zum Essen und es war sehr, sehr lecker. Wir hatten verschiedene Rösti und das Steak auf dem heißen Stein und es war alles sehr lecker. Die Portionen sind in Ordnung und das Essen wurde auch schnell serviert. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wenn wir wieder in Konstanz sind, werden wir wieder dort essen.

The food was very good, especially the meat served on a heated stone so that you can choose the cooking independently. The combined sauces are also good and the rösti is excellent. The only warning is that the menu is only in German and the staff does not speak English.

It's going ok. Nothing special.

I ordered the Wendelgard special which comes with 2 pieces of meat and a rosti. The meat when served on the table is close to medium rare, be sure to check your meat first! In my case, once the dish arrived I took the beef down to my plate since it is already medium rare. This dish requires you to cook the beef yourself so be careful! The Rosti is good, but it would be better if it is more crispy. Environment is good, we sat outside with the chilly air and the service is very good!
