Very good food, pleasant ambiance, friendly restaurant staff, reasonable value, good location – simply fantastic! We had steak on a hot stone with a side dish. We'd be happy to go back!

Had some deep fried fish (fish n chips style, "Fischknusperli") and a steak and rösti: the "Heißer Stein 'Wendelgard'". The steak comes on a hot stone and you can keep cooking it to how you like from its initial medium-rare state. Very tasty. Nice assorted herbal butters to dip the meat in.

Friendly staff, nice corner and tasty pizza.

The cheese spaetzle was excellent. The staff was friendly, and the location is central.

Very nice food, huge portions, friendly staff. Got us an extra table to sit outside, while all the others were busy. Kid's schnitzel was also huge. Käsespätzli were great, as well as flammkuchen and Fischknusperli.

Really good value for money. The decor is a bit too old-school in my opinion.

The roast beef with onions and the schnitzel with fries were very good. 👍 My wife thought the schnitzel was too big, so I got some of it. Although my roast beef with onions wasn't small!

The steak on the hot stone tempted us, and what can I say: it was an excellent decision. The restaurant is cozy, the service friendly and fast. The steak from the stone was excellent and medium rare (it's automatically served that way). The dips come in three small bowls and all taste good, as do the vegetables and wedges. The side dishes are generous. The steak is highly recommended, and the value for money is very good.

Siamo entrati per caso, bel locale tipico. Servizio puntuale e disponibile. Carne veramente ottima (cercherei di migliorare le salse) servita su piastra calda. Prezzo adeguato. Veramente soddisfatti.

First dinner in Costanza, good value for money, very nice, helpful and kind waiters, they didn't have an English menu, but they translated it at the time at the table. 2 fillet medallions that were like butter, they melted in your mouth with the addition of rosti and sauces, delicious!! Money well spent, excellent meat, really recommended!!

Even if I were really hungry, I wouldn't want to go there again! Price performance is not right! Service and cuisine is Eastern European! So taciturn and boring. We had onion roast with rösti. We range from 1 to 10 Max. 3 levels!

Lovely place in center of Constance, food was great. Was busy even at 7pm which is always a good sign. Practical tip for those who don’t speak German, as they didn’t speak English or French. So make sure you use your translation app on your phone to understand the menu. You can also ask them for the guest WiFi code.

Went here spontaneously last night as a couple, nice reception, food was "cheap" and, above all, super tasty, something we haven't managed to do in Konstanz so far in 3 evenings :-) Keep it up!

In gita dalla Svizzera, non ci è sembrato vero di pranzare in un ristorante a prezzi...umani. Abbiamo gustato un'ottima cotoletta con patate e un buonissimo strudel. Carne delicata e gustosa, patatine fritte per nulla pesanti, insalata come da tradizione (cetrioli, insalata, pomodoro e salsina d'ordinanza), uno strudel ottimo diviso in due, 2 belle birre e, udite, udite, un caffè come Dio comanda. 30 euro a testa. Ottimo. Locale simpatico ed ospitale, servizio puntuale.

Very nice, rustic restaurant with great food. The owners and staff were also very nice. It's very cozy there and the food is really tasty. We had hash browns - one vegetarian and one with bacon. It was all very tasty. I can recommend.

The food was very good, especially the meat served on a heated stone so that you can choose the cooking independently. The combined sauces are also good and the rösti is excellent. The only warning is that the menu is only in German and the staff does not speak English.

Wir waren am Samstagabend als Familie dort zum Essen und es war sehr, sehr lecker. Wir hatten verschiedene Rösti und das Steak auf dem heißen Stein und es war alles sehr lecker. Die Portionen sind in Ordnung und das Essen wurde auch schnell serviert. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wenn wir wieder in Konstanz sind, werden wir wieder dort essen.

It's going ok. Nothing special.

I ordered the Wendelgard special which comes with 2 pieces of meat and a rosti. The meat when served on the table is close to medium rare, be sure to check your meat first! In my case, once the dish arrived I took the beef down to my plate since it is already medium rare. This dish requires you to cook the beef yourself so be careful! The Rosti is good, but it would be better if it is more crispy. Environment is good, we sat outside with the chilly air and the service is very good!

Very fine roast onion roast. Salad plentiful and great. Schlemmerpfännli meat is well fried, hence the small deduction. Be sure to visit! Not crowded during lunchtime. Really great, nice waiter.

Absolute Vollkatastrofe,das Restaurant hatte um 19:00 kein Rindfleisch zur Verfügung. Das war der Hauptgrund warum wir uns für dieses Restaurant entscheiden hatten.Nachdem wir uns für etwas anderes auf der Karte entschieden hatten und gegessen hatten,gab es urplötzlich wieder Fleisch. Wer diese Spielchen lustig findet kann dort gerne hingehen,aber für mich untragbar.

I would give this place one star if I could give it zero. "Rude" doesn't even begin to cover it. The service was terrible, the restrooms were dirty, and the food was dreadful. Steer clear of this establishment at all costs.

Delicious dinner! We took Zwiebelrostbraten, holzfällersteak and a pizza margherita. Both steaks were really good, the lamb was rare cooked and very tender. I particularly appreciated the rösti. The beer was also good.

A small restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere and the service is very good, especially the caterer, who is from Kosovo. He gave us great service and suggested that we eat steak served on the hot stone, a variety of salad with grilled chicken slices, a margherita pizza, and a side dish of french fries. The people told us they would have a spot for us at 8. After one hour pf walking around we went back looking to eat. They guy told us he had no spots. By then all restaurants were full.

Miraculously, we got an outside table and sat in the middle of the Niederburg Kiez. Unfortunately, at 10 p.m. it was already “shift in the shaft”. But luckily there are alternatives around the corners for a last glass of wine/beer.

The fillet on the hot stone is a hit. The wine was also very good.

Very good food, but unfortunately the staff was listless. The waitress also urged you to pay early, even though there was still enough space in the restaurant. The Hot Stone is highly recommended.

We had steak on the hot stone with fries and salad. The meat was very tasty and rich. The stone could have been a little hotter for further cooking. The hash browns at the next table also looked great. The service was friendly, perhaps a bit cold and since there wasn't much going on, we felt like we had to leave relatively early. But the atmosphere is really cozy. We will definitely come here again.

We weren't greeted by the service, he came to the table and said "so". Then we were allowed to order. We were missing a piece of bread with the salad and the salad dressing was very watery. The variety on the salad plate was okay. The fillet on the hot stone, as well as the side dish, were good. We would have liked a little more dip. During the meal, no one ever came by and asked if it was tasty or if we needed anything else. So our glasses were empty until we left. All in all it was ok, I would have liked more from the service.

Sehr gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen

Nettes Restaurant , freundlich Bedienung und vor allen leckeres Essen. Wir waren zu 7 Personen und 2 Hunden dort. Pizza , Schnitzel und Steak war alles sehr lecker. Beim nächsten Konstanz Besuch werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder dort einkehren.

Das Essen war fantastisch und war rundum perfekt! Ebenfalls ist das Personal sehr freundlich und stets aufmerksam!

A nice and traditional restaurant. We enjoyed our time as the ambience was very inviting. The food looked good. However, I missed the taste experience and was therefore not completely satisfied. Will come back and try other dishes to maybe change my mind :)

Na ja. Berner Rösti bestand aus einem Kartoffelklumpen, der in Fett schwamm mit Käse überbacken. Salat musste man extra bestellen. Service ohne Motivation. Hochpreisig. Käsespätzle waren wirklich nur Spätzle mit Käse vermischt und dann in den Ofen. Ich persönlich habe mich nicht wohl gefühlt würde nicht nochmal hingehen. Es gibt genügend Alternativen

Nagyon finom steaket ettünk, amit forró kövön tálaltak, így nem csak folyamatosan melegen tartotta, de ha kellet, még tovább lehetett sütni. A sör kínálat a szokásos (nem túl izgalmas), bár nagyon kedves a személyzet, sajnos nem igazán beszélnek angolul.

Nice little restaurant with traditional dishes. Service was a bit slow at the beginning but then became ok. Food was lovely. We had the rosti and the spazle. Terrasse is nice, inside a bit dark.

Bedienung rationell aber weit entfernt von gastfreundlich. Man erledigt seine Aufgaben. Der Koch nahm das nicht ganz so ernst. Zwiebelrostbraten mit Rösti. Letzteres nach Nachsalzen ok. Der Rostbraten kam als 2 Fleischstücke. Eines wie bestellt, eines fast komplett durchgegart. Beide waren aus dem falschen Teil der Kuh geschnitten, ohne jegliche Marmorierung und daher, Nr 1, recht trocken, Nr 2 staubtrocken. Der Berg lieblos frittierter Zwiebeln nicht essbar. Schade.

Essen gut, eher höherpreisig, Service anständig.

Leider machte ich heute die sehr unangenehme Erfahrung, ein verdorbenes Stück Fleisch gegessen zu haben. Ich hatte es zwar sofort geahnt, aber weil mein Holzfällersteak so stark gewürzt und auch noch geräuchert war, war ich mir nicht sicher. Aber seit 2 Stunden esse ich nun rückwärts 🤮 und mir tut immer noch der Magen weh. Anscheinend gibt es hier keine Qualitätskontrolle, der Koch haut auch noch in die Pfanne was schon lange in den Abfall gehört. 🥩👎 Schade, das Lokal ist eigentlich schön - aber wir kommen deshalb nicht mehr.

Wir haben selten so außerordentlich gut gegessen! Die Gerichte waren alle sehr gut, aber am meisten begeistert waren wir von den Käsespätzle, die unsere Tochter hatte. Eigentlich bekommt man die oft "über" jedoch hier waren sie so ausgewogen und perfekt, dass man hätte ewig weiter essen können.

Der Laden ist nett und die Preise fair. Der Flammkuchen schmeckt an sich, wobei der Teig eher einem Pizzteig ähnelt. Die Creme Fraiche Schicht war auch zu dick. Kellner war freundlich und entspannt

Die Fischplatte für 2 war sehr gut. Auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Es empfiehlt sich einen Tisch zu reservieren.
