I had the Elefantohr schnitzel here, it was fantastic. I just think it's a shame that there are no side dishes and everything costs extra. The beer is delicious there; finally, I got a dark beer from Waldhaus on tap, a treat for my throat.

The starter and main course were very good, and the portions were also large. Dessert was mixed ice cream (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla), so nothing special but still good. 😄 The food came very quickly.

This restaurant is definitely worth recommending. Our hotel recommended it to us, saying it offers the best German cuisine in Konstanz. The price was reasonable, and we were well-fed.

We were on vacation in Konstanz and are very grateful that we found the Ziegelhof. I'm a chef myself, and I can only say: perfect! Super delicious, great quality! And the best spinach I've ever eaten. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy two wonderful evenings with you.

A simple restaurant with delicious food, focusing on Balkan specialties. Large portions at relatively reasonable prices. (Side dishes are extra for many dishes.) As is the case almost everywhere in Konstanz, parking is poor.

Updated after the change. Shortly after the change (tenant) there were 4 stars. Now, unfortunately, average common food again. I've been coming here for lunch every now and then for years. As before, portions become smaller at a higher price. Too bad.

I can absolutely recommend it. Exclusively German cuisine is now a rarity. Tastes very good. We were there on a Saturday. Restaurant full. No long waiting times for the food. Waitresses very on point. The boss lends a hand and is very friendly. I would go there again 👍🏼

Superleckere Steaks , frischer Salat , feine Kräuterbutter und das neue Cordonbleu mit Pflaumensosse ist echt Spitze.

A daily changing lunch menu is offered here as long as stocks last, otherwise there is also a small selection of the normal menu at lunchtime and something delicious. I had a cordon bleu with fries and when the waitress found out it was my birthday we each got a free espresso as dessert. The food was beyond delicious and there is even a disabled entrance via a ramp. There is even a disabled toilet The attached photo is only meant as a joke because there was a small typo in the menu and you could order snuff pasta that day

Delicious and very friendly. We ate there with our little one. We even received children's cutlery and a high chair was brought straight away. We would love to come back!

For many years (I've been there regularly since 1989!) consistently delicious food (especially the schnitzels!!!), very cozy atmosphere, very friendly service, fair prices, beautiful beer garden in summer - it couldn't be better.

Very good food at a fair price. The service is always nice, courteous and really fast. Since the restaurant is always busy, it would be advisable to reserve a table. Whenever we are in Konstanz, we almost always eat there.

Ich besuche den Ziegelhof regelmäßig und bin noch nie enttäuscht worden. Gut und preiswert! Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und sehr abwechslungsreich, Bodenseefisch, Fleisch in vielen Variationen, klassische badische Küche. Das Essen gutbürgerlich mit Anklängen aus dem Balkan, gerade beim sehr preiswerten Mittagstisch. Die Küche ist lebendig, wie bei Muttern eben, mal ein bisschen mehr Knoblauch, mal ein bisschen weniger. Für mich ein Zeichen hoher Qualität, keine Systemküche, sondern ein/e wahre/r Koch/Köchin steht am Herd. Ihm/ihr gilt mein größtes Lob! Ebenso natürlich der freundlichen und kompetenten Bedienung, die, auch wenn der Laden rappelvoll ist, weiterhin guten Service leistet. Das es vorkommen kann, dass ich dann fünf Minuten länger warten muss, zählt für mich zur rustikalen Lebendigkeit dieser Gaststätte. Das hat Flair, und das freundliche Personal ansprechen kann ich jederzeit. Ich werde weiterhin ein treuer Gast dieses Restaurants sein, ich verlasse es nämlich jedesmal nicht nur satt, sondern glücklich und zufrieden. Danke dafür.

Fillet pans. Well prepared, but the meat was "over time". Edible, but like the meat from the fridge when it has to be eaten shortly beforehand. With the “taste” of not being quite so fresh anymore. Not worth complaining about, but it needs to be said.

A really great location. Right on the Rhine and in a great location, there is a parking garage directly opposite and a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Food was very tasty and plentiful.

Super schönes, romantisches und gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr freundlicher und schneller Bedienung. Essen war gut angerichtet und schmeckte super. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, wurde es ermöglicht, dass wir einen Tisch bekamen. Wir können das Restaurant gern weiterempfehlen und werden selber morgen die Gastfreundschaft nochmals in dem schönen Ambiente genießen.

Five people can get a place straight away without a reservation. Service very polite and attentive. At first I received the wrong insert but upon request I received the correct insert for free. Great service. The food is excellent and plentiful. Holger has had enough. 👍😂 Recommendation goes out. 👍

This is by far the worst food I have ever eaten! I am well aware that this recession is sensitive but it has to be done and I hope it helps the owner to change something! We ordered a Swiss sausage salad, a salad with gratinated cheese and a grill plate! The Swiss sausage salad was the best of all, although very lightly seasoned. The other "salad" consisted of 2 large lettuce leaves and the 2 pieces of gratinated cheese... Definitely not enough for this price! The crowning glory, however, was the grill plate... The rice was like mushy, barely edible and bland with no taste! It's probably been there for a while. The meat that was delivered consisted of a piece of beef, a piece of turkey, a piece of pork and 2 cevapcici. The 2 cevapcici were unbearable and smelled like old meat, just like the piece of pork! We only ate the piece of turkey and it was also very dry. Afterwards we wanted a receipt, but they didn't bring us a business card from the supposed boss and we were told to write an email and she'll get in touch! I've never experienced anything like that in my life!! The waiter wanted to explain that there was no point in asking for a receipt anyway... I didn't know he was also in finance! A shame and it needs to be said and passed on Noooo again!

German food restaurant, when we went there were no tourists. Letter in German, separate sheet in English. The waiter was very friendly, his Spanish was somewhat slurred.

As already mentioned in another comment. This restaurant has a bizarre way of driving away guests. The tables in the beer garden can be deserted, but 80% of the tables have a reservation sign and if you sit down at such a table you will be immediately evicted. And this in an arrogant and reprimanding way. Not a trace of friendliness. The strange thing was that after what felt like an hour the tables were still empty. And exactly the same on subsequent visits. Then the service in this restaurant is subpar. Most of the time the waitresses are upstairs in the restaurant chatting. It's a shame for the beautiful beer garden. I will definitely avoid this restaurant until a new owner/tenant works there again who also has a bit of an idea what the word decency and hospitality means.

Hemos estado comiendo en familia después de una ruta en bici y hemos disfrutado muchísimo de su riquísima comida típica de la zona, a un precio muy razonable y con un servicio espectacular, amabilidad y facilidades para los niños 100%. Hemisferio cenado en la terraza que con un clima espectacular Por dentro, muy bonito, limpio y acogedor. Totalmente recomendable .

Very tasty, cozy and very friendly service

Very friendly staff and attentive service with a very varied menu for meat eaters and vegetarians, like myself. I got a baked cheese with cranberry sauce which were done to perfection with fresh cranberry sauce and lovely salad with delicious dressing. The drinks were well filled and perfect for the amount of food you get which are hearty big portions. The people with me got fried potato and eggs with a spinach cream salad which they thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly reccomend this place for anyone going to konstanze as it is affordable and delicious. It is outside of the general city centre and a little vit of a walk but a great way of seeing the real life of the town and is clearly a local love with a very hearty and homely feel.

The three of us were there today from twelve to 2 p.m. Unfortunately the waitress only came to the table once. We would have liked to have had something to drink and we mentioned that. The gentleman with the glasses then said that you should snap your fingers to call the waiter. I'm sorry, but we live in the year 2024. Then the waiters have to take care of the guests themselves and not have the guests call the waiters over like slaves. Also, instead of apologizing, he started arguing with me that I should write a review that he wasn't interested. And when asked to apologize, he just said no, that she didn't have a he. He wouldn't have done anything. I've been eating in this shop off and on for years with my business partner and my daughter. I will never go there again.

Nice neighborhood restaurant with a large outdoor area. I found it a bit staid inside and the counter blocked the view of the guests ;) The service was nice, the Maultaschen salad was great, the prices were okay. I would come back.

UPDATE: It used to be really good here. I don't know what's going on there, but the food was no more than what a bachelor would have had and friendly is better. Is there a new tenant there, or has there been no motivated staff since Corona? I don't know, but I was really disappointed! Went there earlier than I did a few times before Corona and it was very, very good! BEFORE CORONA: Really delicious food. Staff friendly and on the ball! Everything was neat, clean and comfortably furnished. Really an insider tip!!! We'd love to go there again.

Nice service, good service and good food.

Hier ist es immer sehr lecker, bis auf das letzte Mal. Man merkt wenn der Chef nicht vor Ort ist . Wie waren zum erstenmal enttäuscht. Die Fischknusperle waren dunkelbraun und viel zu lange gebraten, ebenso das mit Käse gefüllte Hacksteak und der Wurstsalat war gerade mal mit einem Salatblatt verziert. Sehr schade.

Mussels were very good, fillet pots were disappointing, store-bought spaetzle, soggy frozen vegetables, mushroom sauce was not good at all because it was kept warm in a water bath for ages. It's a shame, this dish can be so delicious. Cordon as thin as a schnitzel is also new to me and salad dressing was completely missing from the salad.

Our food was always very good and plentiful. The staff (family-run restaurant) is extremely hospitable and accommodating. I think the ambience suits this restaurant and the food that is served here. I like it and can recommend the Ziegelhof without reservation. See you again soon.

The service managed the poor asparagus from the kitchen well. There was a free dessert and the dish was not charged. About a week before it was a successful evening and very good food and service.

Ich sitze gerade vor 1,5 Stunden im Terrasse. Zwei Bier getrunken und immer noch kein essen bekommen. 1,5 Stunden? Haben sie unser Tisch vergessen?

Man erhält genau das, was die Homepage verspricht: gut bürgerliches Essen. Eher grosse Portionen zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Der Service war äusserst freundlich, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Reservieren ist zu empfehlen, bei unserem Besuch war das Lokal voll an einem Mittwoch Abend vor einem Feiertag. Unser Sohn erhielt nach dem Essen einen Lolli, da haben die Augen geleuchtet… Sehr nah kann man im Parkhaus eines Einkaufszentrums parkieren.

A nice restaurant with home-style cuisine. The food is very good and at completely reasonable prices. The service is very attentive and friendly. It is very pleasant to eat there.

Very friendly and attentive service, small portions of food at overpriced prices, a shame "ziegelhof" schnitzel pounded very thin, breading falls off, schnitzel as big as my hand. Schnitzel didn't represent the name, there were also few fries and a bit fluffy.

Dinner: The food was good, the portions were large and the ambience was nice, but as a waiter you should know when the guests are still eating the starter that you won't already have the main course and in the kitchen you should know that too. I don't know what kind of stress there is every time I go out for dinner, I want to eat my things in peace and not feel rushed. Unfortunately, we are experiencing this more and more often now that everything comes out of the kitchen in a hurry and you can't even take the time to enjoy the food 🙄🤷‍♀️

Zum Glück haben wir hier spontan noch einen Platz bekommen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und gute Portionen. Besser wäre es noch wenn die Spätzle selbst gemacht wären. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden wieder kommen.

Abwechslungsreiches Mittagsmenü zu fairen Preisen unter der Woche. Update Anfang Dezember 2023: alles wieder gut. Freundliche Bedienung, guter Mittagstisch. Was freundliche und motivierte Mitarbeiter doch für einen Unterschied machen Update Anfang Juni 2023: Samstag Mittag, im Biergarten ist wenig los. Nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit kommt die Bedienung und reicht die Speisekarte. Nach Getränken wird erst gar nicht gefragt. Nachdem ich 15 Minuten später immer noch nicht meine Bestellung aufgeben konnte, bin ich gegangen. Lieber Wirt, mit dieser Servicekraft machen sie alles nur eins nicht: Umsatz! Ich bin dann um die Ecke zum Asiaten gegangen und habe dort sehr freundlich, schnell und lecker zu Mittag gegessen.
