Nice restaurant, with luck also a good view. It was very full, so it definitely makes sense to reserve. Service was very friendly and quick. Grill plate was very tasty, although a bit small and a bit lacking in sauce. Muckiteller was ok, good schnitzel and fries.

We were sick of being disappointed with our meals so actually researched reviews for a good German pub in Konstanz. We wanted a nice hearty meal with nice beer. And this place did not disappoint. We ordered seared shredded ox and potato’s and braised beef rulade and one chocolate cake and ice cream. plus a glass of Prosecco and two lagers. The price was €67. We both really enjoyed out meals and the beers. I didn’t like the chocolate cake, it wasn’t sweet, but hubby loved it. The meals were big and filling. The atmosphere was awesome too and the place was filling fast at 6 pm. There were also a lot of dogs with their owners. The menu had English info as well so that helped our decision in choosing this place. The staff were helpful and didn’t mind that we couldn’t speak any German. Would definitely recommend and return. Ps a few vege options as well.

The Constanzer Wirtshaus impresses at first glance with its fantastic location directly on the Rhine stream and is a place for everyone who wants to enjoy down-to-earth, home-style cuisine at (still) relatively reasonable prices. The spacious beer garden directly facing the water offers an incomparable view of Konstanz's old town and invites both locals and tourists to linger. This place is a popular meeting place, especially on sunny days. Due to the size of the beer garden and the high volume of visitors, efficient processes in the kitchen are essential. It is therefore not surprising that the dishes ordered are served within a few minutes - an advantage for hungry guests, but at the expense of quality. The pub's menu offers a mainstream selection of home-style dishes. During our visit we tried three different dishes: 1. Beef roulade with green beans and mashed potatoes: a dish that scored points with its classic preparation. 2. Char fillets with vegetables and roasted potatoes: presented itself as light and yet tasty. 3. Ox shreds with roasted potatoes: The ox shreds, actually a specialty of the young bull, prepared from the entrecote or sirloin steak, were unfortunately disappointing. Although the meat was tender, it lacked the typical grilled flavor that should arise from the very short cooking time. It seemed like the shreds had been grilled a little longer than the ideal 30 seconds per side, which took away their special, intense flavor. The roasted potatoes, on the other hand, were crispy, a plus point for the dish. Conclusion: The Constanzer Wirtshaus scores with its unique location right on the water and a large, inviting beer garden that invites you to linger. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly. The kitchen delivers solid, home-style food that comes to the table quickly - an advantage when there is a large crowd. However, with some dishes, such as the ox shreds, it becomes clear that the efficiency in preparation does not always go hand in hand with the desired quality. Despite some compromises, the inn offers a mainstream culinary experience and is a recommended place to go in Konstanz, especially on sunny days.

Excellent in every way! Wonderful location, beautiful comfortable and clean space, quality and delicious food overlooking the lake and boats, very friendly and extremely helpful staff! What more could anyone ask for?

Sono stato in questa birreria con la mia ragazza per cena in occasione di una giornata a Costanza. La struttura si trova sulla riva del lago vicino al ponte che collega il centro storico. All'esterno è presente una bellissima terrazza che si affaccia sulle acque. L'interno è grande e ospita numerosissimi posti a sedere. Noi abbiamo cenato all'esterno. lo ho preso uno stinco accompagnato da una birra da un litro della casa. Ho trovato tutto molto buono e sostanzioso. L'atmosfera al tramonto è bellissima e quasi magica. I prezzi sono onesti considerando le generose porzioni e la location.

Das Constanzer Wirtshaus beeindruckt auf den ersten Blick mit seiner traumhaften Lage direkt am Rheinstrom und ist ein Ort für alle, die bodenständige, bürgerliche Küche zu (noch) relativ vernünftigen Preisen genießen möchten. Der großzügige Biergarten direkt zum Wasser hin bietet einen unvergleichlichen Blick auf die Konstanzer Altstadt und lädt sowohl Einheimische als auch Touristen zum Verweilen ein. Besonders an sonnigen Tagen ist dieser Ort daher ein beliebter Treffpunkt. Aufgrund der Größe des Biergartens und des hohen Besucheraufkommens ist ein effizienter Ablauf in der Küche unerlässlich. Es ist daher nicht verwunderlich, dass die bestellten Gerichte bereits nach wenigen Minuten serviert werden – ein Vorteil für hungrige Gäste, der allerdings mit unter zulasten der Qualität geht. Die Speisekarte des Wirtshauses bietet eine auf den Mainstream ausgerichtete Auswahl an bürgerlichen Gerichten. Bei unserem Besuch probierten wir drei verschiedene Gerichte: 1. Rinderroulade mit grünen Bohnen und Kartoffelbrei: ein Gericht, das durch seine klassische Zubereitung punktete. 2. Saiblingsfilets mit Gemüse und Röstkartoffeln: präsentierte sich als leicht und dennoch geschmackvoll, ideal für einen sommerlichen Tag. 3. Ochsenfetzen mit Röstkartoffeln: Die Ochsenfetzen, eigentlich eine Spezialität vom Jungbullen, zubereitet aus dem Entrecote oder Hüftsteak, enttäuschten leider. Zwar war das Fleisch zart, jedoch fehlte der typische Grillgeschmack, der durch die sehr kurze Garzeit entstehen sollte. Es wirkte, als seien die Fetzen etwas länger als die idealen 30 Sekunden pro Seite gegrillt worden, was ihnen den besonderen, intensiven Geschmack nahm. Die Röstkartoffeln hingegen waren knusprig, ein Pluspunkt für das Gericht. Fazit: Das Constanzer Wirtshaus punktet mit seiner einmaligen Lage direkt am Wasser und einem großen, einladenden Biergarten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und der Service freundlich. Die Küche liefert solide, bürgerliche Kost, die schnell auf den Tisch kommt – ein Vorteil bei großem Andrang. Allerdings zeigt sich bei manchen Gerichten wie etwa den Ochsenfetzen, dass die Effizienz in der Zubereitung nicht immer mit der gewünschten Qualität einhergeht. Trotz einiger Abstriche bietet das Wirtshaus ein angenehmes bürgerlich-kulinarisches Mainstream-Erlebnis und ist besonders an sonnigen Tagen ein empfehlenswerter Anlaufpunkt in Konstanz.

A very good restaurant with a good regional selection of food and drinks. Very friendly service, you don't have to wait long for the food, it was fresh and tasty, highly recommended. Outside on the terrace the atmosphere is great when the weather is nice. It's beautifully decorated inside, we're looking forward to going there next time.

Great location that's why two stars. Schnitzel very dry, the two pieces of meat on the plate taste like they were fresh from the freezer. I couldn't eat a piece because it was burnt and the potato salad was unfortunately too salty. My husband ordered a roast pork and got a very dry side piece that was not edible. Won't be coming back.

A highly recommended location. Very friendly reception at the entrance, the service was extremely friendly. The food is freshly prepared and extremely tasty. Added to this is the beautiful view of the city. And despite the many seats, a well-kept toilet. Definitely again next year.

Conclusion: highly recommended. The Constanzer Wirtshaus is beautifully located on the outflow of Lake Constance opposite the old town of Konstanz. The outdoor area is spanned by old deciduous trees. The friendliness and customer focus of our young and personable wait staff is particularly noteworthy, but all of the other staff are also very polite. The food is high quality and the menu lists all additives in an exemplary manner. Overall, the food was not only very tasty, but also far from industrial cuisine. You can tell that the food here is fresh and sustainable and that is very positive. The price range is fair based on the quality. Here we come again

Sitting in the beer garden by the water. At the Konstanz funnel. Drink Pinot Gris and the light house beer. We had Maultaschen Jäger style and macaroni with ham and cheese sauce, very tasty.

delicious beer, but the Altstadt-Schnitzel, advertised as freshly breaded and fried, turns out to be a ready-made schnitzel from the package. Far dry and not a single bulge in the breading, the item probably came from the counter at Aldi...tourist rip-off unfortunately. The atmosphere is of course great and the staff is also nice.

Was a guest at the Constanzer Wirtshaus for dinner. We were warmly welcomed and given a table outside. The service was friendly, but seemed a bit stressed. The restaurant was well attended. The food and drinks were served in a reasonable time. Everything tasted ok. The portion size was sufficient.

Luckily we didn’t order much! The behavior of the server (annoyed) alerted us. When leaving we wanted to go to the counter to pay, and we were treated like a thief (we didn't know that we had to pay at the table) 9.50€ for bland hummus and insults, thank you for this bitter lunch.

German restaurant fairly centrally located in Konstanz. Service was friendly, unfortunately the food wasn't a highlight (lukewarm, schnitzel had an unpleasant meaty taste, fried potatoes were greasy and not crunchy). Unfortunately there is no ticket for children either. Unfortunately not good for the prices quoted there.

There are only positive things to report

Unfortunately, I think I had a bad day, but despite all that, one condition should still be friendly and a group that has reserved should not be led to their tables like we are. Your table is at the top left (there was a GB party there) in the end our table was and the rest of the people outside. To eat, yes you can eat, unfortunately it didn't taste good at all, onion roast didn't taste like anything, no salt or pepper... Plus the nice gentleman who rolled his eyes three times because my mother didn't speak German and after asking for a cup of ice cream The glass was just slammed on the table without please or at least making eye contact. It's a shame, the location is really great. Unfortunately there is still a lot of room for improvement, especially when dealing with customers we could be a bit friendlier.

Very nice location with a view. I spontaneously got a table in the second row directly on the Rhine on a Friday without a reservation. The service is top. However, the food was a disappointment. I had the schnitzel with potato cucumber salad. The schnitzel was very hard and tasted like it had been warmed up. The potato salad was ok. But you had to look for the cucumber in it. There is much better food in Konstanz. But the location isn't everything.

A place where people love to meet for a beer after work. You can sit beautifully on the terrace with a view of the lake, the river and the mountains. The food is also very good, not fine dining and nothing special but good German cuisine. Due to frequent changes in staff, things can sometimes become a bit hectic and confusing. But everyone always tries extremely hard and gives their best. :-)

Very tasty food at acceptable prices. Lots of staff, friendly and attentive. The food came very quickly within a few minutes. The location by the water is of course beautiful if you are lucky enough to get a table there. Otherwise there are enough places to sit in the garden or inside.

Friendly service and tasty food.

One of our favorite spots in Konstanz, the food is great and if you get a place right on the Seerhein the mood increases even more. Steckerlfisch on the weekend is a must, very good old town schnitzel and the pork knuckle. Unfortunately, the oxen shreds are hit or miss, as long as they are not too tough, they are unbeatably good.

Great place to try some classic German food and beer. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. I'm also thrilled that they have multiple vegetarian/vegan options. Their vegan maultaschen und käse spätzle were absolutely delicious. And so was their beer.

Ambiance is a dream, food/side dishes and service is a nightmare!

Good quality meat dishes; You may have to order a large salad with it, but there is no small salad. Prices within the local range, but not particularly large portions. Friendly and quick service. Beautiful view of the Lake Rhine.

Place is beautiful right over the river. We went there for a drink. The “maitre” assigned us a table but we moved to the one next to it which was free. Right we did not ask but the guys (thin with salt pepper beard, perhaps Italian) was very rude (“did I tell you to sit there?”.). A different waiter (blond beard) who assisted to the drama of the arrogant colleague, was on the contrary very nice to us and explained that the table was reserved for later. I would definitely recommend the “maitre” to learn how to behave with clients!

Large restaurant with many different rooms and a terrace right on the lake with a view of the old town opposite with its striking buildings. Because I was on the way to the 🚉 train station to catch the 🚃 train to Singen, I unfortunately didn't have enough opportunity to use the kitchen, cellar and service. I was greeted very kindly at the exit. A nice gesture! 🍀 Next time I visit Konstanz I'll take more time so that I'll have enough time to stop off! 😀

Great location, right on the lake, nice outdoor seating with lots of trees and plenty of shade. The inside also looked cozy, beautifully lit in the evenings. The food was ok, but you can get better elsewhere. The onion roast was cooked further than ordered, the onions were not roasted, rather lightly steamed without much flavor. The ox shred was a bit tough, I know the meat in this dish is much more tender. The roasted potatoes were more like baked potatoes without great roasting. The prices and service, on the other hand, were very good.

Lots of money to see a few flowers. Not recommended at all, unless you have nothing else to do.

Nice open, spacious table in this “inside” covered dining area, though the glass conservatory-style roofing gave little protection when the sun came overhead. Lovely, traditional menu here, which was well prepared and presented. Efficient and polite but slightly “bustling” service from our waiter - thank goodness our hosts had good German, as I didn't feel this would have much patience. A good spot by the river - worse places to spend a lazy Saturday lunchtime.

Overall good place but the highlight it’s definitely the view and nothing else. Food is decent while the service not so friendly. Would not go a second time, pretty sure there are other better places.

The meal came very quickly, but perhaps you should give it a little more time. Schnitzel and Maultaschen were quite dry and didn't seem really fresh. But the beer and ambience are great, so overall 4 stars.

The beer garden is located directly on the Rhine. We were there twice in 2 days because the alternatives were all on vacation on the 2nd day. The food is really very tasty, aromatic and well seasoned but the quantity is rather too much. The service is super friendly and the ambience means you can stay a little longer, there is always something to see on the Rhine.

The outdoor area in particular is beautifully located directly on the Seerhein. One of the most beautiful outdoor restaurants in Konstanz. The staff is usually very friendly, but sometimes you're unlucky. The food, on the other hand, is a surprise package, sometimes it's quite passable, sometimes it's very disappointing (the meat in the Maultaschen, for example, didn't taste like anything). Prices are local, but do not always match the service offered.

I always enjoyed going there a few years ago but was very disappointed today. The schnitzel was very dry and the fries were soggy. Unfortunately the waiter was a bit suspicious. The location, however, is perfect.

Went there today based on the good reviews and were not disappointed. Super friendly, courteous and attentive service staff. The location right on the water is great and can be enjoyed, especially when there is some sunshine. The food (old town schnitzel and veggie schnitzel) was great. We will definitely stop by again! We highly recommend the restaurant!

Food is cheap mass-produced goods at totally inflated prices, the atmosphere is mass-produced. Only the location is nice, but doesn't justify the prices.

Location top. It's very nice to eat and drink something so close to Lake Constance. Only the friendliness of the waiter left something to be desired. We hadn't made a reservation and at the entrance we were told that we were free to choose our own place. After we sat down, the first thing the waiter said to us was that the seats were reserved from 5 p.m. and you had to be gone in an hour. That wasn't a good start and dampened the mood. End of song. We sat there until 5:10 p.m. and there was no one there who had reserved the table. It was just a fake excuse from the waiter to get more people ready quickly. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was great.

Perfect. We arrived early and got a table outside very close to Rio. The food was very good along with the beer produced in the name of the restaurant itself. Staff speaks English and welcomed us very well.

The food was very tasty, the service was friendly and if you get a place by the water it's even very pleasant to sit, even though it looks great inside. It was our first time there and we would come back again and again.

A more expensive but very posh looking establishment with its own tasty selection of craft beer. The service speed is a bit slow, but after past experience in the area, this is probably more common. The food was good and prepared really quickly. It's just a pity about the mosquitoes and insects from the nearby river. The view, if it weren't for the branches, would also be amazing.

Very nice beer garden on the Seerhein with a view. Quickly overcrowded in the evening. Service good, food simple, "almost", modest taste and too expensive for that. Many dishes (dumpling pan, Kässpätzle) were a disappointment, roast pork with bread dumplings were lukewarm, even warmed-up substitutes were not recommended. Maybe schnitzel/fries will work, anyone can do that...
