Constanzer Wirtshaus in Konstanz

It was at this year's Blätzleball: the entire Konstanz inn was full of Mäschgerle, fanfare parades, etc. - certainly not an easy evening for the service staff. All the more impressive is the joy and composure with which the staff acted - even when the glass was broken! A great evening. Thanks for that.

Great beer garden right on the water and wonderful in the sun in the evenings. It's nice to sit in and the service was nice. Unfortunately the food wasn't good at all. The knuckle was tough, dry and unfortunately only slightly lukewarm. The pot of lard was actually impossible to eat because the crackling lard was ice cold and almost frozen. Unfortunately, frozen lard cannot be spread on bread; even after waiting 15 minutes, you could only break off pieces with a knife. Unfortunately it was nothing.

Great restaurant! Can only be recommended. Atmosphere was great at fadching time. Restaurant was hung with many colorful pennants from the ceiling. The food was also extremely tasty and sufficient. The wheat beer is also highly recommended.

We came here for late lunch. Food: Tender beef with spätzle - Beef was not on the tender side, more on the beafy/tough side. I liked the spätzle, perfect texture to me, compliments the sauce (could be abit too salty on its own or with the beef) liked the caramelised onions and fried onions on the spätzle. Spätzle outshine the meat in this dish. Square pasta with potato cucumber salad - Everything is more on the vinegary side. Pasta tasted fresh but the fillings inside were also on the vinegary side. Not my kind of taste but others might like that. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream - Texture of the cake was nice, more on the sweet side. I think the ice cream is the failure of this dessert. Ice cream was too icy, not creamy. Taste like some vegan ice cream I got back in Malaysia even though there’s milk and cream used in it. Also tasted way too sweet couldn’t identify the vanilla taste much. Service - service was okay. The guy who took our order were acting abit cool I guess. The other guy who helped with our payment was great, attentive enough to give us another spoon as we only got one pair of spoon and fork for our dessert when we were sharing it. Atmosphere - still a nice place to have dates by the river. I would come back for its ambience hoping they could also make better food to enjoy. Menu - available in multiple languages, make tourist life so easy

We are regulars at this restaurant and have always appreciated the great food and service. However, we were recently treated rudely. Despite our email notification of our delay, our reserved table was taken after just 20 minutes. Although the staff eventually arranged another table for us, the man at the entrance handled the situation with a rather unpleasant attitude.

The waiter stole 5 euros from us at the time of the bill. Price according to the ticket 79.20 euros but the waiter found it useful to only give us 15 euros and coins, without asking our opinion. Lamentable!

Friendly, attentive service. Very nice view. However, there is definitely no pub atmosphere in the modernized area of ​​the restaurant. I find the fact that as an adult I am assigned a seat by the staff and that as a paying guest I am not allowed to decide for myself where I sit to be somewhat patronizing and disrespectful. The food (beef roulade) was completely mediocre; nothing that, unlike the view, would entice me to visit again.

stunning location especially in summer

Very nice location which is divided into a much more modern area with a beautiful fireplace in the center of the room, and a very large classic and German style area, we went for a company meeting, recommended in the area

Roast pork was very dry. Everything else was great. Price performance is right. Service could be a little more on point.

Wonderful meal! Amazing atmosphere and view But we were forced to pay the tipsby the server(can't tell who he is.) We chose not to pay the tip but the server moved back to start page and made us force to give tips. Giving us no choice but to choose from 5~15% Everything was amazing except this. And this was the last experience we had in the restaurant which made my whole feelings about the restaurant end up bad Be aware everyone.

We've been here three times now and I think that's it. In summer the beautiful location is distracting, in winter the essence (the food) unfortunately falls through. the beer was good. It was a shame it was cold in the room (the useless fireplace was out), a shame in January (?!). We ordered 4 different starters and 4 main courses: nothing special, or if it was rather negative, noticeably bad: dumplings, bland, sandy and lumpy hard. Unfortunately, the schnitzel tasted like it was fresh from the freezer. Has the management changed or slacked off drastically, or are you now just relying on the summer tourists?

The price-performance ratio was certainly right, but I've had better knuckles. The same with my wife.

Very nice inn on the water in Konstanz. We ate there on New Year's Eve and I can highly recommend it. The food, beer and white wine were outstanding. The service was very courteous, attentive and funny. We'll definitely come back.

After a long day of international traveling, the Missus and I along with our Canadian Westcoast cycling group looked forward to our first German meal in Konstanz at the Constanzer Wirtshaus. Unfortunately, the service was lacking as it took almost 30 minutes to order our food. Surprisingly, 3 members of our group received their food within 5 minutes, albeit the food being only lukewarm. They finished eating their meals while 5 remaining members were still waiting for theirs. It took more minutes just to flag our server to check on our orders. Needless to say, it was obvious there were issues with the kitchen staff and our server working in sync. We found the food was just average and nothing exceptional. The subpar service created a disappointing meal and tempered our expectations for a first delicious dinner on the first day of our cycling trip.

We shared a delicious Schnitzel with a refreshing patatoe/cucumber salad as well as the "Badische Käsespätzle" - it was delicious and fairly priced. The xmas decorations in the place were beautiful, the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Overall: Looking forward to returning here and try out other food :)

Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Der Kalbsbraten aus der Zusatzkarte war sehr zart und hatte eine dezente Rosmarinnote. Für die Rindsroulade hätte man kein Messer gebraucht, so zart war sie. Auch die Beilagen waren gut gewürzt und hatten den perfekten Gargrad. Die Salate waren knackig mit einem feinen Joghurtdressing. Dazu das dunkle Bockbier und es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Ein großer Dank an Herrn Gokhan, der uns ausgesprochen freundlich und kompetent bedient hat! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Trotz Weihnachtsmarkt noch einen schönen Platz im Restaurant bekommen. Nette Betreuung, das Essen kam sehr zeitnah in einer guten Qualität. Auch bei den Getränkebestellungen saß man nie lange auf dem trockenen.

The food was really tasty and was served to us after 5 minutes. The service was great and very accommodating - the view speaks for itself in the pictures - top restaurant!

Everything was just right here. The salad was excellent. The steak and knuckle were delicious and the bock beer was a delight. In addition, the location is very nice. I will definitely visit the beer garden right next to the river in the summer.

The waiter was nice and the reservation went smoothly. The bratwursts were well seasoned. The food came quickly. The pork knuckle wasn't a bit bland for my taste. The dumpling was good. The food was also really reasonably priced. The ambience in the winter garden was really nice, would come again.

The wild boar bratwurst (seasonal dish) and the Gundelet plate were very tasty. The house bock beer was very tempting, but unfortunately it wasn't available due to driving. Very nice, friendly and attentive service. We will definitely come back again in the summer to enjoy the terrace/beer garden atmosphere directly on the Rhine.

Absolute nervouse waitress keeps pushing and ask if she can serve the next course even of u half way your starter , if u ask meat/ or a dish without the sauce because u have lactose intolerance they say its not possible to leave the sauce away never experience anything like it!

It was a somewhat modern inn, but with a view of the Rhine/Lake Constance. Cozy, unfortunately it was quite cold in the inn. Of course it would have been nice if the fireplace, which is in the middle of the room, had been on. The food wasn't particularly special, as it was a ready meal. We had a tavern schnitzel and a duck. The duck was better, but the schnitzel unfortunately fell through. The beer was delicious. Many greetings from Frankfurt.

Essen ist gut. Allerdings nicht mit sehr viel Liebe zubereitet. Das Design ist schön jnd aufgeräumt, aber die freundlichkeit des Personals dürfte locker noch etwas Arbeit vertragen.

Beautiful restaurant a stone's throw from the center. Generous portions and great food. Modern, clean and warm environment. The staff were very kind and the quality/price ratio was excellent. I highly recommend it and will stay there again on a next trip to Constanta.

The beef tenderloin didn't taste good...yuck....and the spätzli looked more like a puddle of overcooked noodles than spätzli... The service is way too fast, I had the The feeling of being in the factory.

One of our favorite spots in Konstanz, the food is great and if you get a place right on the Seerhein the mood increases even more. Steckerlfisch on the weekend is a must, very good old town schnitzel and the pork knuckle. Unfortunately, the oxen shreds are hit or miss, as long as they are not too tough, they are unbeatably good.

The food is good, hearty, depending on the season, not only a lot of meat and sauce, but also quite well balanced with vegetables and other vegetarian cuisine. The oven and the fireplace would be great if the fire master knew how to fire a fire and didn't start a fire that couldn't escape properly and you as a guest would almost freeze to death because all the doors and windows were opened. There is something random about hosting, not very systematic, and sometimes the employees are too preoccupied with themselves rather than with the guest. Too bad. The beers from Maisel are great, as is the other selection of drinks.

Unfortunately very bad food. Ready-made schnitzel from the bag and potato salad from the bucket. The whole thing for €16.80. Beer was very good, but service was average and so was the ambience. Bad acoustics and lighting. We won't be coming back.

Good service and delicious food

It's a place with a nice view of Lake Constance, and the beer tastes good. The food is on average in Switzerland. This is where the seat does everything.

Unfortunately, my meal (Tafelspitz) was very watery and the sauce was almost barely recognizable as horseradish sauce. The raw vegetable salad was extremely cold. My wife's fish had black hair. A farewell to the service staff was not desired. They preferred to continue talking. Unfortunately not recommended. We went there because of the good reviews. Too bad 🤷

Three stars for the ambience and the young lady (service). Had dinner here again... The "gentlemen" in the entrance area didn't look friendly and there was actually no greeting. We didn't feel welcome here. Unfortunately the food wasn't good either. Only the young lady who served us was nice.

We ate char fillet and pork knuckle there yesterday because it always had a good reputation. I've never eaten such a bad fish dish in my life.🤢🤮 The char fillet tastes like it's spoiled. Really bad... It was so expensive but no quality at all. Extremely disappointed...

Pork schnitzel for 17 euros, I would have liked a fresh Baden potato salad, especially in a good pub. Unfortunately from a can or frozen. Schnitzel wasn't that great either, not sure if it was homemade. The beer is very good and so is the ambience. Service was okay, but not outstanding either. Things used to be better there.

Bright and friendly. In the rear area with a winter garden facing the Rhine. Food and drinks were tasty. Fillet of fur with fried potatoes and delicious pumpkin sauce. Simply delicious. 😋
