Today we had mix Max of starters again, it was very tasty. The ambience is nice. Service was very attentive. Summer or winter, we are always happy to be there.

Unfortunately very bad food. Ready-made schnitzel from the bag and potato salad from the bucket. The whole thing for €16.80. Beer was very good, but service was average and so was the ambience. Bad acoustics and lighting. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, my meal (Tafelspitz) was very watery and the sauce was almost barely recognizable as horseradish sauce. The raw vegetable salad was extremely cold. My wife's fish had black hair. A farewell to the service staff was not desired. They preferred to continue talking. Unfortunately not recommended. We went there because of the good reviews. Too bad 🤷

Three stars for the ambience and the young lady (service). Had dinner here again... The "gentlemen" in the entrance area didn't look friendly and there was actually no greeting. We didn't feel welcome here. Unfortunately the food wasn't good either. Only the young lady who served us was nice.

Pork schnitzel for 17 euros, I would have liked a fresh Baden potato salad, especially in a good pub. Unfortunately from a can or frozen. Schnitzel wasn't that great either, not sure if it was homemade. The beer is very good and so is the ambience. Service was okay, but not outstanding either. Things used to be better there.

The pumpkin carpaccio from the seasonal autumn menu tastes good, but comes in the size of a small starter without bread and is therefore, in my opinion, overpriced at just under 16 euros. So-called felt gliders should urgently be installed under chairs and benches. There are two floors in a reverberant room with lots of glass fronts, and the scraping and pushing back and forth of the guests on the ceramic tiles of the iron bars is truly deafening, or at least very uncomfortable

Very nice restaurant with a large beer garden under old trees, right at the beginning of the Rhine with a view of the bridge tower. For less good weather, there is a large winter garden with lots of glass so that the same view as in the outdoor area is possible. Very nice location away from the tourist crowds. Delicious snacks and meals that are attractively prepared and taste very good. I was there several times. My favorite dish is the snack plate and the roast pork. A home-brewed beer is served.

We went there last saturday for a late lunch and it was absolutely amazing. The restaurant is located in a historic building and it's just by the river, the beer garten looked inviting and the dining area was really cosy and nice. The service was really great, our waiter helped us choosing nice beers and dishes and he went out of his way to make our lunch very special. The food was fantastic, we had a pork knuckle (slow cooked and it came with fries and a delicious gravy) and a cold cut/cheese platter and were merely charged 30 EUR for all that food. We have been to a number of nice places in Konstanz but this is undoubtably our favorite, the value for the money is insane.

We went to the inn because of the good reviews, received a friendly welcome and were served in the inn. I love onion roast and spaetzle, unfortunately this was actually the worst I've ever eaten. The quality of the meat and the spaetzle were borderline. The missed cooking point was actually annoying but apparently familiar; it is often served almost raw, even though it was ordered medium rare. If we come back to Konstanz we won't come back.

We rented the room upstairs in the inn and had a great atmosphere. The location was perfect for celebrating a cozy or very atmospheric party. Accordingly, the room was great, but the service was even more so. You could only wish for Vivian, Kevin and Jan as servers, and they not only raised the mood to a new level, but were also able to professionally master every challenge that arose in the evening. The Konstanzer Wirtshaus can definitely be recommended, especially because of the staff.

The taste of the meat didn’t quite meet my expectations, but it remains one of the top spots to visit in Konstanz.

Many thanks to Xenia, our waitress. We had a bit of doubt at first because of some of the negative reviews. But they are definitely not justified!!! Yes, you should definitely make a reservation, we also made a reservation at lunchtime for the evening. We got there a little earlier, so we went to the bar for a light beer. Our table at the top of the gallery was really good, everything was at a glance and perfect with Xenia. The food was super tasty, large portions, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Solid pub. Very nice atmosphere, right next to the lake. It's worth making a reservation. The service was great, very friendly, the food arrived quickly. Nothing to complain about. The food is solid in and of itself. A little underseasoned. The dumplings didn't taste particularly good, more like a tough mass of something. The chocolate cake, although warmed up and well-intentioned, tastes more store-bought. It's a shame that the vanilla ice cream is served in a paper cup. For 2 people with 2 bottles of water, a side salad, a main course and a dessert for around €75. Overall, one of the restaurants that I will visit again in Konstanz.

We thought that the restaurant was housed in an old, quaint building. Instead, we sat at loveless wooden tables and benches in a loud, crowded and drafty "winter garden". The food was okay.

In summary: unfortunately the food doesn't match the ambience, it has something like canteen food. It's nice to sit in and the staff is super accommodating. We (6 people) then ordered Maultaschen soup and roast roast onion. Unfortunately, the Maultaschen was tough and gristly and the roast was also tough. Unfortunately, the spaetzle is very tasteless and neutral. We were looking forward to Konstanz and are now moving on into the night, with a crying face, on the food side.

Very good terrace, and the food quite good

The location is great! The view from the terrace directly over the Rhine is simply beautiful and a very cozy beer garden! Without a reservation we only had to wait a very short time. The food came in a reasonable time and was really tasty. However, a point deduction for the fact that some dishes on the menu were no longer available without prior information.

Food (roast pork and Maultaschen) was bland, lukewarm and heavy on the stomach, service was slow and sometimes rude. We were plagued by blowflies, and when one of them drowned in the cola, the waitress told us it was our own fault. I really don't recommend it, it's much better.

We have visited the Konstanzer Wirtshaus several times in the past and were always satisfied with the food. Unfortunately, our last visit turned out to be a huge disappointment. The quality of the food was significantly worse than expected. The gravy, which was described as homemade, was watery and weak in taste, and the cheese spaetzle was also unconvincing. Overall, the food was unfortunately far below the level we were used to. The waitress was very nice and mentioned that there was a change of ownership about a year and a half ago and the kitchen has changed since then. Unfortunately, this has had a negative impact on the quality. Despite the beautiful view of Lake Constance, the current quality of food does not justify a repeat visit. It's a real shame that the inn has fallen into such disrepair.

One of my favorite places in Konstanz. Whenever I have a visitor from out of town/country, it's my go-to place. Nice german food with good beer. The view and the atmosphere outdoors during summer is great! Edit: its still a nice place but some of the waiters are really rude

A rural style German restaurant with excellent service and a menu in multiple languages. They have classic German dishes, home brewed dark beer, non-alcoholic Black Forest cake. Very fair pricing too. On a sunny day, this is a good option to sit beside the lake water in the garden seats.

If you want to eat inexpensively in Konstanz, you've come to the right place.

Mass processing! I had knuckles with bread dumplings, my wife had schnitzel with homemade potato salad (according to the menu). As soon as we ordered, the food was there 2 minutes later. The knuckle was lukewarm, the bread dumplings were dry and solid, the sauce was mushy and far too little. The schnitzel was ok, but the potato salad wasn't homemade and if it was, then only the dressing and that was very poorly made. It tasted somehow artificial. We wanted a slice of lemon for the mineral water and although the waitress assured that this would be possible, it was not brought. Since it was very full downstairs, we got seats upstairs. Benches there have no backrests and are therefore very uncomfortable. Beer garden is nice. However, we had bad weather that day. If I were to come again, I would just have a drink in the beer garden.

When we came in the store was very full and there was only one seat left at the counter. The reason was quickly apparent with the quick and friendly staff; it would certainly have been even more crowded if the outside terrace had been usable in better weather. The food and beers are also excellent, especially the Constanzer Bockbier is highly recommended.

Beautiful brewery on Lake Constance I went to this pub with my girlfriend for dinner during a day in Constance. The property is located on the lake shore near the bridge that connects the historic center. Outside there is a beautiful terrace overlooking the water. The interior is large and has plenty of seating. We had dinner outside. I had a shank accompanied by a one-liter house beer. I found everything very good and substantial. The atmosphere at sunset is beautiful and almost magical. The prices are honest considering the generous portions and the location.

We were sick of being disappointed with our meals so actually researched reviews for a good German pub in Konstanz. We wanted a nice hearty meal with nice beer. And this place did not disappoint. We ordered seared shredded ox and potato’s and braised beef rulade and one chocolate cake and ice cream. plus a glass of Prosecco and two lagers. The price was €67. We both really enjoyed out meals and the beers. I didn’t like the chocolate cake, it wasn’t sweet, but hubby loved it. The meals were big and filling. The atmosphere was awesome too and the place was filling fast at 6 pm. There were also a lot of dogs with their owners. The menu had English info as well so that helped our decision in choosing this place. The staff were helpful and didn’t mind that we couldn’t speak any German. Would definitely recommend and return. Ps a few vege options as well.

This place is a popular meeting place, especially on sunny days. Due to the size of the beer garden and the high volume of visitors, efficient processes in the kitchen are essential. It is therefore not surprising that the dishes ordered are served within a few minutes - an advantage for hungry guests, but at the expense of quality. The pub's menu offers a mainstream selection of home-style dishes. During our visit we tried three different dishes: 1. Beef roulade with green beans and mashed potatoes: a dish that scored points with its classic preparation. 2. Char fillets with vegetables and roasted potatoes: presented itself as light and yet tasty. 3. Ox shreds with roasted potatoes: The ox shreds, actually a specialty of the young bull, prepared from the entrecote or sirloin steak, were unfortunately disappointing. Although the meat was tender, it lacked the typical grilled flavor that should arise from the very short cooking time. It seemed like the shreds had been grilled a little longer than the ideal 30 seconds per side, which took away their special, intense flavor. The roasted potatoes, on the other hand, were crispy, a plus point for the dish. Conclusion: The Constanzer Wirtshaus scores with its unique location right on the water and a large, inviting beer garden that invites you to linger. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly. The kitchen delivers solid, home-style food that comes to the table quickly - an advantage when there is a large crowd. However, with some dishes, such as the ox shreds, it becomes clear that the efficiency in preparation does not always go hand in hand with the desired quality. Der großzügige Biergarten direkt zum Wasser hin bietet einen unvergleichlichen Blick auf die Konstanzer Altstadt und lädt sowohl Einheimische als auch Touristen zum Verweilen ein. Besonders an sonnigen Tagen ist dieser Ort daher ein beliebter Treffpunkt. Aufgrund der Größe des Biergartens und des hohen Besucheraufkommens ist ein effizienter Ablauf in der Küche unerlässlich. Es ist daher nicht verwunderlich, dass die bestellten Gerichte bereits nach wenigen Minuten serviert werden – ein Vorteil für hungrige Gäste, der allerdings mit unter zulasten der Qualität geht. Die Speisekarte des Wirtshauses bietet eine auf den Mainstream ausgerichtete Auswahl an bürgerlichen Gerichten. Bei unserem Besuch probierten wir drei verschiedene Gerichte: 1. Rinderroulade mit grünen Bohnen und Kartoffelbrei: ein Gericht, das durch seine klassische Zubereitung punktete. 2. Saiblingsfilets mit Gemüse und Röstkartoffeln: präsentierte sich als leicht und dennoch geschmackvoll, ideal für einen sommerlichen Tag. 3. Ochsenfetzen mit Röstkartoffeln: Die Ochsenfetzen, eigentlich eine Spezialität vom Jungbullen, zubereitet aus dem Entrecote oder Hüftsteak, enttäuschten leider. Zwar war das Fleisch zart, jedoch fehlte der typische Grillgeschmack, der durch die sehr kurze Garzeit entstehen sollte. Es wirkte, als seien die Fetzen etwas länger als die idealen 30 Sekunden pro Seite gegrillt worden, was ihnen den besonderen, intensiven Geschmack nahm. Die Röstkartoffeln hingegen waren knusprig, ein Pluspunkt für das Gericht. Fazit: Das Constanzer Wirtshaus punktet mit seiner einmaligen Lage direkt am Wasser und einem großen, einladenden Biergarten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und der Service freundlich. Die Küche liefert solide, bürgerliche Kost, die schnell auf den Tisch kommt – ein Vorteil bei großem Andrang. Allerdings zeigt sich bei manchen Gerichten wie etwa den Ochsenfetzen, dass die Effizienz in der Zubereitung nicht immer mit der gewünschten Qualität einhergeht. Trotz einiger Abstriche bietet das Wirtshaus ein angenehmes bürgerlich-kulinarisches Mainstream-Erlebnis und ist besonders an sonnigen Tagen ein empfehlenswerter Anlaufpunkt in Konstanz.

Sono stato in questa birreria con la mia ragazza per cena in occasione di una giornata a Costanza. La struttura si trova sulla riva del lago vicino al ponte che collega il centro storico. All'esterno è presente una bellissima terrazza che si affaccia sulle acque. L'interno è grande e ospita numerosissimi posti a sedere. Noi abbiamo cenato all'esterno. lo ho preso uno stinco accompagnato da una birra da un litro della casa. Ho trovato tutto molto buono e sostanzioso. L'atmosfera al tramonto è bellissima e quasi magica. I prezzi sono onesti considerando le generose porzioni e la location.

Great location that's why two stars. Schnitzel very dry, the two pieces of meat on the plate taste like they were fresh from the freezer. I couldn't eat a piece because it was burnt and the potato salad was unfortunately too salty. My husband ordered a roast pork and got a very dry side piece that was not edible. Won't be coming back.

The friendliness and customer focus of our young and personable wait staff is particularly noteworthy, but all of the other staff are also very polite. The food is high quality and the menu lists all additives in an exemplary manner. Overall, the food was not only very tasty, but also far from industrial cuisine. You can tell that the food here is fresh and sustainable and that is very positive. The price range is fair based on the quality. Here we come again
