Table assignments are very arbitrary. A table by the Rhine was denied with a reservation an hour later. Five minutes later, others were allowed to take their place. The staff was rather inexperienced and overwhelmed. The food was okay.

The food is not good! The schnitzel was completely dry and not freshly prepared. The service was very friendly and attentive.

I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience. Even though it's so busy, I definitely wouldn't go back. The potato salad tasted completely artificial and completely oversalted. I had to wait 40 minutes for dessert (Kaiserschmarren). The ambiance is very nice, thanks to the terrace with a direct view of the water.

The pork knuckle had a great crust and was very tasty. The price/performance ratio was also good. The location is simply fantastic, right next to the Rhine. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They immediately provided a bowl of fresh water for our dog. We parked in the parking garage across the street.

Good food at "still" acceptable prices. Portions were OK...very friendly and attentive staff, even though the beer garden was quite packed. Dogs are also welcome. Very nice beer garden with a view of the water. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

Watch the ships on the Seerhein. Nice inn. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Salad and food were good. My wife loves the pork knuckle with bread dumplings :)

The service was very friendly and competent. The atmosphere in the beer garden was very nice; we had a table overlooking the Rhine. The food was very well presented and incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, they didn't have all of their own beers in stock. The beer is down-to-earth but not outstanding. They don't brew their own beer. The beer is brewed by Maisel & Friends. They still have a few of their brewery's beers on the drinks menu.

We had already been here two years ago. The quality of the food is no longer what it used to be. The value for money is not there. We are disappointed. The portion of dessert for €12... (see photo)

A truly beautiful outdoor terrace with a fantastic view of the Rhine and Konstanz. The interior, with its winter garden, is also incredibly beautiful. The service is fast and very friendly. The food is excellent. I always love coming here; it's a highly recommended place. ☺️

The food is very good, the service was incredibly friendly, and the inn has an idyllic waterfront location. The portion size was unfortunately a bit too small for the price. Nevertheless, I can happily recommend the inn with a clear conscience.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food and the service. The roulade was delicious, but the mashed potatoes had too much butter, and the green beans were undercooked and very bland. The waiter was completely uninspired and forgot to take orders. His torn shirt and grubby appearance were also not very presentable. The Kaiserschmarn (smothered pancakes) was a disaster and tasted more like scrambled eggs... the apple sauce was completely tasteless. Anyone can make it three times better at home. Paying for that is painful, and I imagine fine dining to be COMPLETELY different... Additionally, waiters preferred standing around instead of serving guests... that could definitely be done much better.

Very tasty and inexpensive food!

We went there for dinner based on the reviews. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We were greeted by two people. It was very loud. The waiter was nice and attentive, but his demeanor didn't match the ambiance. We ordered Maultaschen and Haxe (roast pork knuckle). The Maultaschen were cold and we sent them back. The new ones were hot, but not tasty, and we didn't finish them. The Haxe was okay, but too dry, and the toilet was cold and hard. We wouldn't recommend them.

Typical tourist trap. Unfriendly reception, couldn't even muster a good evening. I'd compare the food to a good canteen. Disappointing.

Not recommended! Unfriendly reception, hectic service, cafeteria-quality food. The ambiance inside is uncomfortable and lackluster, but the outside might be quite pleasant in good weather because of the view. Tourist trap!

It's beautifully located on the Seerhein. It offers a good selection of food, including a few vegan options. Reservations are practically mandatory, especially in the summer months; otherwise, you'll have no chance of getting a seat or long waits.

I guess I'm just used to better. For me, though, it's not a place I'd want to visit again.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was unsatisfactory. The waitress still had trouble understanding our orders on the third attempt, and even when we politely pointed out that the order was incorrect, they continued to make unfriendly gestures. Furthermore, the Kaiserschmarrn contained eggnog, which wasn't listed on the menu. We weren't informed that the apple sauce was empty, so we were served the dish as it was. The entire meal was disappointing in terms of taste. Despite the promising ambiance, we cannot recommend the restaurant.

Good food, clean processes, fair prices. That's exactly what the Constanzer Wirtshaus delivers. The food is well prepared, portions are generous, and the quality is consistent. No surprises – in the best sense of the word. Anyone looking for hearty, home-style cooking won't be disappointed here. A real plus point: Danijela. Rarely does one experience such professionalism in service, coupled with calm and clear communication. She is present without being intrusive, fast without seeming rushed. You can tell she has experience – she keeps the team together and ensures the place runs smoothly. No frills, no show – simply good, reliable service. Conclusion: If you're looking for an inn in Konstanz with character and a well-coordinated team, this is the place for you. We'll be back.

Always worth a visit. A beautiful location, both summer and winter.

The food and the location are fantastic. It's always busy. Despite that, the staff is always friendly... Definitely a recommendation!

The first impression is promising. Right on the water, with seating outside or in the glasshouse. It has the flair of a beer garden but with the quality and ambiance of a good restaurant. When choosing food, we opted for two Aldstadt schnitzels with potato salad. The service was very simple and quick, but one point that was a thorn in my side, even though it was a minor detail, was the immediate offering of sauces to accompany the dishes. Only after asking did we receive small pre-packaged ketchup and mayonnaise packets at our table. The food left nothing to be desired and made us want to come back. Finally, I was only able to pay after I personally checked the conditions after a long wait at the table. This could perhaps have been avoided by stopping by and asking the typical "if everything is okay." It should be added that on that day, the restaurant was about 30% full, the staff was generally well-staffed, and not (apparently) stressed, which would otherwise have explained the situation. Despite everything, the stay was definitely not the last and I will already be planning my next visit.

I've been coming here for years. The atmosphere is great, but the food has deteriorated over the years. Some of the food simply looks carelessly prepared. We were there again last Sunday, and the asparagus dish was inedible. Totally acidic and overcooked. Unfortunately, there was no accommodation to our complaint. I probably won't go there again. It's a shame, really; the beer garden and the beer are really good. Apparently, the quality of the food is a matter of luck, as you can read in other reviews. The recent change of ownership seems to be the explanation.

The setting is truly beautiful. Online reservation was no problem. A warm welcome. I ordered a knuckle of pork, which was inedible due to insufficient cooking time (very tough). The meat should have been able to fall off the bone! Even with a sharp knife, it was difficult to cut. The waiter was very accommodating and wanted to replace the knuckle, but the chef said, "All knuckles are like this, it has to be like this." For what I paid, I should expect edible food, right? Service from the waiter was excellent, and the order was canceled. A discussion with the chef would have been appropriate. My husband's order also didn't meet his expectations or descriptions. "Roasted potatoes" is listed on the menu, but there was no trace of roasting. The portions were also small, whether for the main course or dessert. The value for money was not right at all. Unfortunate

We ended up here on a tip (thanks Vince) right on the water, very cool interior, great outdoor area. They were very attentive, never had to wait. The food was top-notch, fresh and delicious; it couldn't be better.

Repeatedly, the food was only mediocre. A shame for this location.

One of our favorite spots in Konstanz, the food is great and if you get a place right on the Seerhein the mood increases even more. Steckerlfisch on the weekend is a must, very good old town schnitzel and the pork knuckle. Unfortunately, the oxen shreds are hit or miss, as long as they are not too tough, they are unbeatably good.

Beautiful waterfront restaurant and a great location for celebrations. We were invited to a wedding there. Friendly staff and always helpful. There's a great outdoor lighting/terrace with a view of the Rhine. I had a roulade for dinner, which I found a bit bland. The chocolate cake was delicious 😋

A really beautiful beer garden. All the dishes looked delicious.

The food wasn't good at all. The asparagus was overcooked and drowned in sauce. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste the pike-perch. The atmosphere on the Rhine was great, and the service was very friendly.

The place is scenic and very nice, it is located by the river. I recommend fish products, and for desserts I recommend Millchmädchencrem, definitely try it.

The food, the service, and the opportunity to look out over the Rhine from the terrace are all excellent. The changing seasonal menu is also very good. I'll be happy to come back!

Very nice service, great location right on the water. Unfortunately the food was very poor and everything was lukewarm. Lamb shank tough and chunky, beans even less warm. Onion roast meat not the best quality, medium on one side, only briefly turned on the other side, therefore bloody, no roasted aromas, spaetzle and sauce not hot either, not even really warm. Been there for 4 days at different times. Great location on the water and really attentive and fast staff 💪 if you want to experience a beautiful sunset, reserve the seats 120 ff.. We came here looking for “home-style” food. As a dish we had schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes. Unfortunately a disappointment! The schnitzel was rather small and seemed like frozen food. The asparagus was watery and the hollandaise sauce definitely came from a packet. Plus potatoes that were cooked more or less soft with the skin on. The loud Italian tour group next door made the negative experience complete. Too bad. At least the view of the Rhine was ok.

Tipica birreria tedesca situata proprio sul fiume che poi sfocia nel lago di Costanza. L'atmosfera è molto carina, il soffitto e le pareti sono fatti da ampie vetrate che danno sul Biergarten esterno. L'ambiente è molto alla mano e il ristorante è frequentato da parecchia gente del posto. Durante le sere del fine settimana è importante prenotare, soprattutto se si è un grande gruppo. Io e la mia compagna di viaggio avevamo prenotato, e abbiamo visto molti gruppi di 5-6 persone essere rifiutati alla porta. Se si è solamente in due o tre persone e si va dopo l'orario di punta dalle 20:30, 21:00 circa è ancora possibile trovare posto. La nostra cameriera è stata molto gentile e disponibile, e il cibo era veramente ottimo! Sia il purè di patate che le mele cotte erano veramente fatti in casa e freschi, la mia carne era cotta alla perfezione e veramente saporita. I prezzi sono nella fascia medio-bassa e onesti.

I decided on asparagus with schnitzel and potatoes. Totally carelessly prepared (see picture) and small mini asparagus spears and potatoes don't look very appetizing either. It was DEFINITELY not worth the money! Unfortunately I don't recommend it!

They have the menu in different languages. They gave us a menu in Spanish, the food is good, the terrace and the view of the lake are beautiful.

The location is truly beautiful with an outdoor terrace overlooking the Reno river and a view of the lake, especially suggestive at sunset. Typical Bavarian menu with quite generous portions. Menu on request also in Italian (approximate). Good beer and desserts. Service a little slow and with some errors, prices basically honest or at least within the norm. Overall most positive experience.

Good food - good service - not so good acoustics

A very nice place to sit, on the water in a kind of greenhouse. The only thing is that it does get warm when the sun shines. We arrived from the cold so the warmth was welcome. But at a certain point it became very warm. In the summer the greenhouse is also closed and they have a nice restaurant and terrace. I ate a delicious Easter dish, asparagus with butter sauce and schnitzel. And they have nice beers. The children also had a very tasty meal. Atmosphere was very good, but because of the heat I gave it one star less

Very happy with our experience. The place is very beautiful, the atmosphere is very pleasant on the banks of the Rhine The cuisine is traditional and successful and the service efficient.

Wunderbare Lokation direkt am Seerhein mit mehreren wintergartenähnlichen Anbauten, so dass man auch bei schlechtem Wetter etwas von der tollen Aussicht hat. Speisen und Getränke sehr gut. Service top, unaufdringlich und professionell. Insbesondere fällt die annähernd perfekte Organisation auf. Hier wird so gut wie nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Portionen auf der Standardkarte wirklich üppig, auf der Tageskarte können die Portionen z.B bei den Königsberger Klopsen ein bisschen kleiner ausfallen, aber durchaus ausreichend. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis herausragend.

The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Especially the seat cushions on the benches. Could be vacuumed more often. They are crumbly and have a lot of long hair in their upholstery. The staff is friendly but they stand around a lot and don't see the work. And keep the guests waiting. What a shame!

Ich war mittlerweile schon mehrere Male im Constanzer Wirtshaus – und komme immer gerne wieder. Egal ob Sommer oder Winter, ob drinnen oder draußen im schönen Biergarten: Die Atmosphäre ist einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Das Essen ist durchweg auf hohem Niveau – bodenständig, regional und mit Liebe zubereitet. Besonders der Zwiebelrostbraten und das Altstadt-Schnitzel sind echte Highlights. Dazu ein frisch gezapftes Bier – was will man mehr? Ich komme immer wieder gerne – das Constanzer Wirtshaus ist für mich ein fester Bestandteil jedes Konstanz-Besuchs. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Wunderschöne Location am Seerhein mit gutem Angebot und freundlichem, engagiertem Personal. Unsere Gerichte, Maultaschen und Haxe waren sehr schmackhaft-insgesamt wieder ein gelungener Abend in Konstanz.

Essen schmeckt dort sehr lecker. Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen regelmäßig zum Essen und die persönlichen Wünsche werden immer angepasst.
