Ambiente sehr schön haben auch spontan einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen leider nur zum Teil lecker. Portionsgrösse war ok.

Wir sind spontan reingegangen. Alles war ausgebucht. Nach zehn Minuten bekamen wir einen Tisch draußen. Wir haben köstlich gegessen. Solide deutsche Küche. Alles mit Liebe zubereitet. Freundliches Personal. Wir hatten Rinderroulade und Schweinegulasch.

Nach unserer langen Wanderung waren wir hier spontan essen. Wir wurden sehr nett bedient und haben außerordentlich lecker Roulade mit Klößen und Rotkohl gegessen.

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen, super freundlicher Service, bequeme Sitzbank, Musik, die gute Laune macht, Preis-Leistung top - klare Empfehlung!

Es wurden uns geöffnete Wasserflaschen ohne Versiegelung gereicht, das riecht doch leider sehr nach Betrug. Und als wir freundlich nach einer ungeöffneten Flasche fragten, wurden wir noch für doof verkauft a la „Ich habe die Flasche doch extra am Tisch geöffnet.“ Wie auch immer das bei gänzlich fehlender Versiegelung gegangen sein soll. Frech! Bei einem weiteren Tisch im Gastraum dasselbe, und das nach unserer Bitte. Also anscheinend gängige Praxis in diesem Lokal. Es trübte den Abend leider sehr, denn die Speisen waren lecker und die Preise okay. Der Innenhof des Lokals ist ruhig und Biergartenmäßig gut eingerichtet.

Zuvorkommender Service, denn wir wollten uuunbedingt draußen sitzen und es war alles besetzt. Der Service gab uns einen Tisch drinnen mit dem Vorschlag sobald draußen frei ist, gäbe er Bescheid. Hat gut geklappt 👍 Dann kam das Essen schon sehr zügig. Leider hatten wir die leckere Knoblauchsuppe vorweg. 😉 Denn mein Tagesgericht Rinderroulade mit Klößen und Apfelrotkohl waren ein Traum. Tolles kleines Feature auf dem Rotkohl: in Scheiben geschnittener in etwas Zucker leicht angebratener Apfel 🔝 Auch das Hirschgulasch mit Spätzle empfehlenswert. Danke an das ganze Team.

Sehr netter Service. Die Inneneinrichtung wirkt eher gehoben. Aber… für mich passt das Angebot an Speisen nicht dazu. Abgesehen davon ,dass Ähnliches in Bad Schandau an jeder Ecke angeboten wird, wirkte es nicht wirklich so, als wenn es ein Koch zubereitet hätte. Es war eher einfach und na ja. Mich störte besonders, dass die Sauce wie aus der Packung schmeckte.

Das Essen als auch das Personal sind super. Die Grösse der Portionen stimmen, die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm und man hat sich aufgehoben gefühlt. Eine richtig Dorfkneipe welche von einer Familie geführt wird.

Steak ou four war sehr lecker und reichlich auch die anderen Speisen sahen sehr lecker aus und das Schnitzel wird hier in der Küche noch selbst geklopft würde ich behaupten 👍. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Man sollte vorab einen Tisch reservieren, das Restaurant ist immer gut besucht.

Schönes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen. Sauerbraten zart und schmeckt super. Rotkohl scheint für mich als Laien selbstgemacht und schmeckt auch wirklich gut. Alles in allem ein zu empfehlendes Restaurant. Vielen Dank an das liebe Team von Restaurant "zum Franz" :)

Wir waren zu 5. hier Essen (hatten vorher bestellt) und jeder hat für sich etwas passendes gefunden. Alle sind sehr zufrieden und satt geworden. Ich hatte den veganen Szegediner Gulasch, wo ich überrascht war etwas veganes zu finden. Dieser war wirklich sehr lecker und genau das richtige nach einem kühlen Tag. Das Restaurant ist nicht sehr groß, besonders an Feiertagen und Wochenende ist sicher reservieren besser.

Das beste Essen im Umkreis. Die Bedienung ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, zum wiederholten Male wurde ich vor dem Verhungern bewahrt. 🙏 Der Koch bereitet super leckeres Essen zu, die Ente an Weihnachten war eine der Besten, die ich je hatte. Alles ist super sauber (eventuell dürfte es sogar ein wenig uriger sein) und die Preise sind für das Essen sehr fair. Selbst die Musik (Oldies) ist ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Bei so freundlichen Leuten fühlt man sich beim rein kommen gleich willkommen. 😊

Ein kleines, familiengeführtes Restaurant im Dorfzentrum. Die Portionen waren sehr großzügig und das Essen einfach köstlich. Ich hatte eine Schweinshaxe mit Sauerkraut und einen Kartoffelknödel für 19,90 € und ein 0,5-Liter-Flasche traditionelles Bier aus der Region für 5,50 €, insgesamt also 25,40 €. Das ist mehr als fair! Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Da es sehr beliebt ist, empfiehlt es sich, im Voraus zu reservieren. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Absolutely the best food in Bad Schandau! If you try the opening hours from Tuesday to Saturday 5-8 pm, you will have a luxurious meal :-) The advantage is that they speak Czech! I highly recommend making a reservation, because there is a huge interest in the restaurant.

We visited here as a family for the first time today and booked a table on the spur of the moment. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival. The service was friendly, attentive, yet pleasantly unobtrusive. The food was truly outstanding – fresh, delicious, and lovingly prepared. Our children also felt completely at home. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with passion – from the kitchen team to the service staff. The cozy ambiance and relaxed atmosphere made the evening perfect. We would definitely come back and highly recommend the restaurant!

We ate at the restaurant for the last two days. It's rare to find such delicious food. Everything is homemade, and you can taste it. And the portions are also very generous. The service is really great. If the restaurant is full, you just wait a while in the beer garden, and the manager will call you in when there's space again. On the second day, we decided to reserve a table instead. It's amazing how many guests they serve in those five hours. We'll be back!!!!

Delicious home-cooked food with a Czech touch!

Despite the large number of guests, service was relatively quick. I would have preferred the food to be a bit warmer, but a visit here is definitely worth it.

We had a wonderful meal there last night, following a friendly invitation, first in the entrance. I opted for the cured tongue in horseradish sauce and ordered dumplings instead of potatoes. Of course, it was no problem at all; it was heavenly, the meat was very tender, and it came with the best horseradish sauce in town. Thank you for the wonderful evening, as the service was also very attentive and completely relaxed. A very good tip in Bad Schandau 👌👌👌

I really liked the ambiance. The staff were a bit annoyed on the phone; they gave the impression there weren't any seats left, but we were allowed to come in. It turned out that most of the people who came after us didn't have reservations, and they got seats, too. The food was OK, but given the decor and the prices, I was expecting a bit better service; the roulade wasn't really tender enough. And the music didn't fit the ambiance either. Of course, it's a matter of taste, but I wasn't looking for more sophisticated food. I'd go somewhere else for the same price and pay the same or a bit more for better quality.

The restaurant completely surprised me! As soon as I entered, I was struck by a pleasant atmosphere – a modern interior combined with coziness, where you immediately feel good. The service was very nice, smiling and willing to help with the choice. The food? An absolute experience! Each course was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced in taste. The portions were just right, so you leave satisfied and not full. I also appreciate the quality selection of wines and other drinks. Overall, a great establishment, where I would definitely like to return – whether for a romantic dinner or just to sit with friends.

I had the venison ragout with chanterelle mushrooms, red cabbage, and potato dumplings. My wife had the pork loin steak ou four with spiced meat and baked with cheese, served with croquettes. Both are highly recommended, and the portion sizes are perfectly adequate. The service was friendly and, above all, there were no long waits; everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We sat outside, and despite the rain, everyone was in a good mood. We've definitely decided that the next time we're here, we'll definitely go back to Franz.

This establishment drew us in with its energy, the nicely lit passage invited us to look at the seated guests, enjoying the atmosphere and good beer. Personally, I found the portions to be small. The Dresden Sauerbraten came in two very thin slices and with two small dumplings. The side salad was nothing special and unloving. The staff wasn't particularly friendly when we had questions. I wouldn't go here again.

We received a very warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The rump steak was cooked to perfection, and the other dishes at the table also left us with great satisfaction. The food arrived very quickly, and the service was extremely friendly and efficient. The ambiance was optimized to the best of the available space :) The only improvement we could think of would be pencils and something to color in for the kids, but given the short wait, that might not be necessary.

Amazing food at a very reasonable price. We were lucky to get a table, although we only called around 3-4pm on the day itself. Hence, do book in advance to avoid disappointment. The kitchen and front of the house service crew try their very best to make sure everyone is being served timely and get sufficient attention. So do bring along some patience.

Every dish tastes like it came straight from grandma's kitchen – hearty, aromatic, and full of flavor. The portions are generous, so everyone will be satisfied, and the quality of the ingredients is excellent. The service is also top-notch – attentive, warm, and always with a smile. You can feel that a true passion for hospitality is lived here. If you're looking for a place to relax, enjoy delicious, authentic home cooking, and simply have a good time, this is the place for you. The restaurant's prices are mid-range, with dishes costing between €20 and €30, which is perfectly reasonable for the quality. The wait time for your chosen meal is also perfectly acceptable, averaging 15 to 20 minutes, which is absolutely reasonable. The restaurant "Zum Franz" seems to be very popular. Based on the many positive reviews, we decided to try it out. I recommend making a reservation by phone in advance. We really liked the service. All the staff are not only friendly but also very attentive. The ambiance: It's clean, and there are pictures of the region on the walls. Food: The food is delicious! Our food arrived quickly. However, the portion sizes vary greatly. Some dishes were generous and would have left you feeling full. However, we could have easily eaten two plates of our food. The sauces for some dishes could have been more original and were reminiscent of ready-made sauces. We would definitely come back, but we would choose different dishes.

The goulash was excellent. Kudos to the chef! We only waited 15 minutes, so it was super quick! The wine was also excellent.
