Great food. I had a rnds bouillon with delicious dumplings, not too salty like you often get in Eastern European restaurants. I was even able to charge my phone there, which was a big help.

So, unfortunately, we can't recommend this place. We went there yesterday after a long bike ride because of the great reviews and the great pictures. We got a table right away but had to wait an hour for our food, which, disappointingly, also only contained frozen products. The schnitzels all look the same, and the fries are just regular fries you'd get from the supermarket. We don't have a problem with that, but why are we waiting an hour when it only takes 10 minutes? My wife got a Bolognese, which we can't recommend either, as it didn't taste of anything. If it had been a little salty, it would have been fine, but it lacked all the essential spices of a Bolognese. The service was definitely friendly and accommodated us for this inconvenience, and we didn't have to pay for our drinks. So, if you want delicious food, another place might be a better choice. But it's great for a drink.

This was our second visit to the Ostrauer Hof. The first time was simply fantastic... very good service, the food was delicious, and it was on the table in no time. Everyone who works here enjoys their job, and you can tell. The second time was exactly the same... very good service and great food. There's a changing daily menu, so there's something for everyone. We highly recommend it 👍.

Unfortunately, it was quite busy, and the staff was a bit overwhelmed. As a result, the food arrived a bit cold. I think the kitchen is too small for the number of guests.

We stopped here because of the numerous positive reviews and have to admit that we can't agree with them. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully designed and cozy. The outdoor area is rather small and fills up quickly on nice, sunny days. The service was fast. The menu is concise but perfectly adequate. We opted for schnitzel and goulash. Since the kitchen area is open-plan, we could also watch the employee transferring the small stick fries from the large industrial plastic bag into the fryer... On the plus side, the colorful, super-fresh salad with a delicious sauce that accompanied the schnitzel was great. The cranberry sauce was also great. Unfortunately, the fries weren't crispy at all. The schnitzel was definitely not homemade and was simply fried. For us, it was at most a snack bar standard for a restaurant price. The goulash with dumplings was more like Bohemian dumplings with goulash. Selling this portion, sauce, and four small pieces of meat as goulash is audacious. The dumpling was very dry and probably not homemade. The sauce was only moderately seasoned, and the meat was tender. Unfortunately, when we were clearing away, no one asked how it was. Perhaps you could already tell. For us, the value for money wasn't right.

A short vacation in Königstein, a trip to Schmilka, and on the way back, we stopped for a restaurant. We weren't disappointed; the food was delicious.

We had a wonderful meal and a great afternoon. I would highly recommend it!

We were in Ostrau for a week and ate at the Ostrauer Hof every evening. On the first evening because it was more practical than looking for something in Bad Schandau, then because we liked it so much. The food is great, in addition to the menu there are also daily specials every now and then. Everything is great. I can only thank the staff, despite the store being full to the brim on May 1st, everyone was super nice. Overall a very nice atmosphere, absolutely recommended.

We ate there last Saturday as a family (8 adults, 4 children). We have to say, very tasty, very friendly even though it was quite busy. Absolutely recommend this restaurant. A thank you to the entire team.

We've been there for lunch with the family two Sundays in a row, we're thrilled, extremely friendly, top service, delicious food, generous portions, highly recommend the Bohemian beer and the homemade lemonade. A little tip, be sure to make a reservation as there's only limited space.

As a hiking group of 10 people, we ate several times at the “Ostrauer Hof” hotel and also at the restaurant over New Year’s Eve. The menu is easy to manage, special requests are also fulfilled, the chef is an artist in his little kingdom and you can taste his many years of experience, the service is very fast, attentive, relaxed and funny, and the owner - who has only been around for a short time - is a funny one Person whose looseness quickly “jumps over”, had a clever idea for an emergency aid transport, ..., thank you again for that!! A visit is highly recommended, regardless of whether it is a hotel or a restaurant. We will be back and will definitely have a nice overnight stay in the holiday apartments.

Best beer you’ll find in all of Saxony Switzerland!

After we had walked the small Schrammsteinrunde, we walked another 250 meters from the Parkplatz, and it was worth it. Small, but cozy restaurant that deserves more than the 3.8 stars they currently have. Staff is very friendly, prices are good and the food tasted very good.

Not that big, great food, very friendly service

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. There is also a beautiful guest garden at the house. The staff is friendly. We were just there for coffee.

We came for a beer, but were tempted by the nice environment and friendly service to have a small meal as well. The broth with celestýn noodles was strong and honest, the fresh parsley gave it a twist and overall I liked it very much. Ice cream in a pancake was a little throwback to childhood, when there was no other dessert in restaurants. However, the ice cream and the pancake are fine in terms of taste. Add to that our beloved wheat beer and we didn't lack anything to make us happy. I explain the low rating of the company here on Google by the relatively high prices, where we paid over €30 for the aforementioned. However, if money is not decisive for you and you want to remember the restaurant "classic", then we got it here and left satisfied.

Three delicious yeast dumplings filled with blueberry filling and vanilla sauce for €13.90, that's okay. The attractive operation is another plus.

We had to reserve by phone in advance. The food was great, the price was reasonable. I was amazed at the delicious dishes that were conjured up in such a small kitchen.

We spent a long weekend in the Ostrauer Hof holiday home with a larger group and had our daily dinner in the “Zum Ostrauer Hof” restaurant. The holiday home and the restaurant do not have the same operator. About the staff: The staff consists of a funny two-man team in the service area and a cook. Even though we were a large group of 16 people, the two waitresses ran the place. There were no time delays for either the other guests or our group. The two waitresses were never at a loss for a funny saying. The atmosphere was very pleasant. About the dishes: The dishes are very tasty and beautifully presented. Of course, you won't get fine dining here, but you should be aware of that when you stop by a small country inn.

Due to the lack of alternatives, we decided to stop at this restaurant. The experience reports on Google didn't suggest anything good. However, our low expectations were still exceeded. The service was nice but brought the wrong drink twice. The goulash was OK but the dumplings didn't taste good at all. The schnitzel with fries were so-so. The price was extra class. A whopping €85 for two. Adults and two children with canteen-level food. Price-performance ratio underground. Anyone who can should give this restaurant a wide berth.

The food was really fantastic and delivered quickly and considering the restaurant had only been open for three weeks, the ambience wasn't all that bad. The filled dumplings are highly recommended.

Food nothing special, rather below average, schnitzel much too thick and therefore tough. Burnt fried potatoes. All in all, the kitchen is not worth a visit. The 2 stars are for the service, which was friendly and good, but it can't do anything for the poor food!

I stayed at the Ostrauerhof. Specially selected because the restaurant is included. Since Ostrau is very remote, this was a good idea for me so that I didn't have to drive through the area in the evening. Ate schnitzel on the first evening, unfortunately the first one was burnt, that can happen. We were able to sit outside until 9 p.m. in the evening. Unfortunately on Monday it only lasted until 8 p.m. and from Tuesday until Friday it was completely closed. From now on there is no information or notice, neither from the house nor on the signs or on the internet. On Tuesday, around 50 hikers came by during the day who wanted to eat or at least drink something. Unfortunately, they had to leave again with their tongues hanging and thirst. Since I had imagined my stay differently and I didn't feel like self-catering, I was forced to leave early on Wednesday, which I very much regretted. I would specifically like to be very accommodating Praise for the service staff. Since I have personally been self-employed for 30 years and am familiar with the personnel and other problems, this is no reason for me to close a restaurant overnight. I still wish the Ostrauerhof all the best for the future and much success, especially better management. Oskar Wiegärtner
