A very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and the food was excellent! Nothing was left to be desired.

I would like to thank very much, especially Mr. Saddik. Super nice and great service, unbeatable, but also everyone else, including Mr. Kabras, who made the reservation and everything was perfect. Unfortunately we couldn't go outside because of the weather. As a result, it was probably relatively full in the restaurant and relatively loud, but that's all to be overcome, the service was good. The food was great, so a great thing for our family reunion! Gladly again. I'm no longer sure whether I actually meant Mr. Korashy for the good service... Mr. Saddik or Mr. Korashy...?.... Not entirely clear...

We went to the Waldschlösschen to eat asparagus. There was very tasty, local asparagus with various side dishes to choose from. It was quiet at the table in the house, we preferred not to sit outside as it was a bit windy. The wine, a Veltiner, went well with it. It was a pleasant visit to Dagobertshausen.

Fantastic setting, incredibly tasty and TOP service. That really impressed us. We'd love to come back.

Das Restaurant befindet sich in einem sicherlich hundert Jahre alten Haus, das außen wie innen sehr stilvoll her- und eingerichtet ist. Allein das zu erleben war schon ein Genuss. Zur regulären Speisekarte kam noch eine tageskarte. Die Qualität der Zutaten war extrem hoch, sei es das Huhn beim coc au vin oder das lamm bei der lammschulter, seien es die Kartoffeln, das Kartoffelgratin oder das im Ofen gegarte Gemüse. Und die Saucen stachen noch einmal mehr hervor. Die Vorspeisen, ein spargelsalat mit marinieren Erdbeeren sowie Nudeln mit spargel und Parmesan in einer sämigen sauce, waren italienisch angehaucht. Kein Wunder, der Chef hat italienische Bezüge, wie er uns - ganz der Patron - bei einem netten Plausch am Tisch erzählte. Dazu durfte ich einen Blick in den Weinkeller und das Raritätenkabinett werfen, ein Erlebnis, wenn man ein Faible für hochwertigen Wein hat. Die Weinkarte ist extrem umfangreich, sehr gut ausgesucht, hochwertige deutsche winzer aus der ersten Reihe, ebenso Österreich und Italien, viel californien, Frankreich zurückhaltend. Einige gut ausgesuchte Weine im offenen Ausschank, aber eine Flasche eines zehn Jahre alten spätburgunders von Dr. Heger vom kaiserstuhl war zu den Hauptgerichten ein muss. Weinherz, was willst du mehr! Sehr aufmerksamer, aber zurückhaltender Service.

Everything was very nice and above all very tasty!!!! It's just a shame that the entrance is not handicapped accessible, which is unfortunately not possible for a restaurant like this in the upscale sector!!! You should urgently consider whether you should change something about it

The garden with the games/sports facilities was particularly great for the grandchildren and helped relax the adults!!

Cozy regal cottage-like restaurant. Service is outstanding with staff being very attentive to our table. The high quality and flavor combinations of the dishes justify prices being on the higher end but still within reason. The “Coq au Vin” and the “Linsen-Tomatensugo” were amongst the winners. The family & friends “spring time” menu was also really diverse and filling. Definitely recommend the “Waldschlösschens warmer Kuchen” for dessert lovers. Overall, a really good restaurant experience if you’re close by the area.

The atmosphere inside and outside is very nice. A mix of rustic-looking yet upscale furnishings. Very nice service, friendly and accommodating. The food was very good, both the starter of sea bream and the main course of rump steak were on point and very attractively prepared. Happy to recommend again and at any time.

We were in the forest castle for the first time. So we can pass on our “first impression” here. The reservation was absolutely problem-free and we received another friendly reminder the day before the visit. The restaurant is idyllically located in the immediate vicinity of Hofgut Dagobertshausen and is very easy to reach by car, and there are also sufficient parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. The ambience is very romantic and beautiful, slightly dreamy and makes a very well-kept impression. The reception was attentive and friendly. The food... mmmhhh... can't be praised enough. Great quality, great presentation and discreet but super accommodating service. You can tell that people work here who enjoy gastronomy. We will definitely come back here again, even if it means a longer journey for us. It's worth it!!! Thank you very much for the lovely and lovely evening in your house!

We were at the Waldschlösschen restaurant with friends and had reserved an igloo. It was such a lovely evening, from the friendly welcome to the farewell. There is a unique atmosphere in the igloos and the temperature was surprisingly good. We would particularly like to emphasize that we were immediately greeted with mulled wine and there was also an equally delicious non-alcoholic version. Followed by very, very tasty starters, which were placed in the middle of the table so that each guest could help themselves to their liking. It was similar with the main course, so we were all able to taste the different courses. The culinary impressions were rounded off with the best Kaiserschmarren that I have ever eaten north of the Alps. At the end there was a Williams liqueur with icing on the cake. It was a shame that there was no non-alcoholic alternative for the guests who spent the evening alcohol-free. But that would be the only point of criticism. Otherwise everything was a 12 out of 10. Food, atmosphere, service and also the price-performance ratio is reasonable. We liked it so much that we will do it again and we will also “test” the restaurant in a very short time. Big compliments to the entire team for a successful evening.

Wir waren gestern mit einer größeren Gruppe im Waldschlösschen. Der Empfang durch das Personal war hervorragend. Unsere Plätze wurden schnell angewiesen. Ich hatte Glück durfte direkt in die Küche schauen durch eine große Glaswand. Was hinter dieser Glaswand gezaubert wird an Essen ist Wahnsinn. Ein exzellenter Gaumenschmaus. Es gab allerlei Vorspeisen, vielerlei Hauptspeisen und einen leckeren Nachtisch. Wir waren nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

Booked a New Year's Eve igloo, unfortunately very disappointed. The menu selection was off. It's a shame because we've already had lovely hours in the igloo. The normal menu in the igloo is great, unfortunately there was nothing on New Year's Eve. Price performance not given. Too bad Anyway, Happy New Year everyone.

Our small group was warmly welcomed, the atmosphere is inviting and tasteful. The menu is clear, well coordinated and is priced in the upper midfield. The food tasted good, but not everyone was happy with the portion sizes. The wardrobe needs improvement. At the beginning our jackets were accepted by the service, but then unfortunately they were hung up randomly, so that the search began when we said goodbye. A successful evening and I would like to come back.

The food and service were very good. The duck was a bit salty, the rest was very good.

Quite tasty, but unfortunately very inflexible when it comes to vegetarian dishes. There is hardly any choice and when asked, only a vegetable pan came. All the important other components were missing to call this a complete meal. Bit of a shame...

Es hat einfach alles gepasst: toller, sehr zuvorkommender Service, hervorragende Speisen bei denen sehr hochwertigen Produkte verwendet wurden, gemütliche und entspannte Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Einen ganz herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team und bis bald - denn wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

It should just be a reminder to avoid the possibility that you might not get a seat without a reservation. As I have already rated, the service and the ambience are very good.

We have been coming to the Waldschlösschen again and again for about 5 years and the food has been excellent every time! The quality of the food, the ambience and the service were always on top. Unfortunately, we had a less than pleasant experience with the service this time. The very young waiter seemed a bit awkward and his greeting was not particularly friendly. When I just asked for the bill he just cleared the food away even though we obviously hadn't finished yet! When I paid, he seemed surprised at the appropriately low tip and didn't even say thank you for it. He was lucky that I even tipped! (2.10 euros for a 62.90 euros bill) I hope this was a one-off.

Simply special from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed and assigned a great table. The staff were extremely accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and tastefully decorated, you immediately feel at home. Dinner: We had a bit of everything, starting with lots of different starters which were excellent. The main courses are also of the best quality and give ***** 5 stars, the same as for the dessert. Delicious and fine cocktails and wines rounded off the evening. The very large selection of spirits and the open kitchen are a feast for the eyes. The evening was so excellent that we went back for dinner the next afternoon, this time on the beautiful outdoor terrace. The birthday serenade of the two bosses was special, with surprise cakes and sparklers. Simply a great short break and we will definitely come back. Many thanks to the entire team. Nach 1em Jahr (2023) Abstinenz bei mangelndem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ein erster Versuch die Beziehung wieder aufzubauen....an einem sonnigen Mittag. Die Eröffnung mit einem Frizzante sollte das Reigen eröffnen...es kam, unerwartet, bereits deutlich abgestandener "Frizzante"....schlechter Start. Zur Risikominimierung (die Hauptspeisen waren seinerzeit der Scheidungsgrund) dann das Vorspeisen"menü" für 2 zur Querschnittsanalyse der Küche: Failure 1) keine geschmackliche Abstimmung der Vorspeisen (zu scharf vs mild) 2) einzelne Gerichte in sich teilweise schlüssig, aber entweder zu salzig (Teriyaki Sosse braucht kein zusätzliches Salz!)) oder zu farblos (Tartar) oder zu scharf (Guacomole) oder einfach nicht fach(geschmack) gerecht (rote Beete nicht adäquat fein geschnitten.....die gelobte Nachspeise (mit "Aroma" Eis) auch ein low light.......immerhin in Summe 2 Sterne für die Location und den "gesehen" werden Faktor (abgestuft auf 1 Stern). Fürs Geld, immerhin keine Preissteigerung beim Wienerschnitzel nach dem Sprung von 22€ auf 29 €, gibt es im Kreis Marburg Biedenkopf viele, viele überraschend gute Alternativen. Nach einem weiteren Jahr (2024) erneuter Versuch, aber das Restaurant ist "durch". Hatten 5 Vorspeisen bei 4 Personen (kalt und warm)....alles gleichzeitig gebracht, obwohl instruiert, hiess heisse Pfifferlinge gingen zurück in die Küche. Das Rindercarpaccio kein Filet, zu dick geschnitten (unverzeihlicher Anfängerfehler). Pasta mit Pfifferlingen, die Schlechteste im Vergleich mit zeitnah besuchten Restaurants in der erweiterten Region. Organisiere gerne einen Kochkurs. Personal hyperaktiv, wie gescheucht....Spiegel des Managements (gilt für alle Restaurants (ausser Esszimmer)) des Betreibers in MR)....Fazit: Chronisch krank....keine weiteren Besuche mehr geplant!

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing a true culinary highlight. The food – a true poem! The service first class. The staff is attentive, friendly and always on hand without seeming intrusive. All in all it was a perfect evening. A visit to a restaurant that we won't soon forget!

It was my first time at the Waldschlösschen and I was impressed by the location and the ambience, both inside and out. There are plenty of parking spaces and you can really feel comfortable there. The food had a good portion and was of good quality. And even though we were there with a lot of people, the food came almost at the same time... that's not a given. The service wasn't quite as good. You had to ask politely if you could order something else and actually, in the best case scenario, it should be the other way around. Unfortunately, the wrong drinks kept coming... in my opinion there is still room for improvement on this point.

After 1 year (2023) of abstinence due to a lack of price/performance ratio, a first attempt to rebuild the relationship...on a sunny midday. The opening with a frizzante was supposed to open the dance... unexpectedly, the "frizzante" was already clearly stale... a bad start. To minimize the risk (the main courses were the reason for the divorce at the time) then the starter "menu" for 2 for a cross-sectional analysis of the kitchen: Failure 1) no taste coordination of the starters (too spicy vs mild) 2) individual dishes are partly coherent, but either too salty (Teriyaki sauce doesn't need any additional salt!)) or too colorless (tartar) or too spicy (guacomole) or simply not right (taste) (beetroot not adequately finely chopped...the praised dessert (with "flavor" Ice cream) also a low light....at least 2 stars in total for the location and the "seen" factor (downgraded to 1 star). For the money, at least no increase in the price of the Wienerschnitzel after the jump from €22 29 €, there are many, many surprisingly good alternatives in the Marburg Biedenkopf district. Another attempt after another year (2024), but the restaurant is “through”. Had 5 starters for 4 people (cold and warm)...everything was brought at the same time, although instructed, hot chanterelles were said to go back to the kitchen. The beef carpaccio was not fillet, cut too thick (unforgivable rookie mistake). Pasta with chanterelles, the worst compared to restaurants visited in the extended region. Feel free to organize a cooking class. Staff hyperactive, as if chased....Mirror of the management (applies to all restaurants (except dining room)) of the operator in MR)...Conclusion: Chronically ill....no more visits planned!

Last week we were once again guests in this beautiful house: everything is just right for us. We entered the terrace and felt warmly welcome, the food was delicious and we couldn't agree more with the wine recommendations. A place where we feel very comfortable. Always my pleasure...

Das Essen war lecker, aber der Service unterirdisch. DIe Bestellung wurde sehr eilig aufgenommen, wenig Zeit für Rückfragen gegeben. Dann kam die Serivekraft anschließend wieder, da sie sich nicht mehr sicher wegen der Bestellung war. Die Bestellung wurde wiederholt, dann aber trotzdem 2 Vorspeisen vergessen. Beim Nachtisch wieder eine Person vergessen. Auf der Rechnung wurde dann eine Hauptmahlzeit zu viel abgerechnet (50€ Differenz). Beim Kaffee wurde der Wunsch nach mehr Milch zwar aufgenommen, dann aber auch vergessen. Auf erneute Nachfrage nur kurz angebunden die Milch dann rausgegeben. Auch auf besondere Wünsche/Nachfragen aufgrund meiner Schwangerschaft und Essenseinschränkungen wurde nicht ausreichend eingegangen (Das Risotto gibt es nur mit Wein). Es wurde nicht angeboten, die Bestellung dann noch zu einem anderen Menu abzuändern, auch wenn das Essen noch nicht gekocht war. Auch vermute ich, dass mein Kaffee nicht koffeinfrei war, trotz zweimaliger Wunschäußerung/Bestätigung - denn ich konnte die ganze Nacht anschließend nicht schlafen. Auch wenn die Servicekraft vielleicht noch hoffentlich neu war (?), erwarte ich bei dieser Preisklasse zumindest mehr Freundlichkeit.

Im Waldschlösschen bekommt man allerfeinste Speisen präsentiert, die man in einem schönen Ambiente genießen kann. Entweder bei gutem Wetter draußen oder ansonsten immer in dem schönen, klassisch eingerichteten Speiseräumen. In den letzten Jahren war wir gewiß schon 5x vor Ort, immer war es ausgezeichnet. Besonders auffällig sind neben der guten Küche auch die gut ausgebildeten freundlichen Mitarbeiter. Im Waldschlösschen ist alles auf einem sehr gehobenen Niveau, volle Punktzahl von mir.

After we took a detour to get a voucher for the Waldschlösschen, a waitress sent us away again. We should come back a day later because there is too much going on at the moment. Which of course we didn't do. Outrageous! We actually enjoyed being guests.

On the occasion of our wedding we were guests at the Waldschlösschen Dagobertshausen and were thrilled! The "porcelain room" was extremely tastefully decorated, the team took excellent care of us from the start and impressed us with first-class service. The dishes were amazing, even visually! The day was unforgettable for the guests and us, not least because of this wonderful evening. We were pleased to have been guests in your home.

Romantic ambience, excellent food

The food was excellent and definitely deserved full marks. We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, the Saltimbocca and, for dessert, the Amalfi lemon tart. Everything was excellent both in terms of taste and presentation. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel comfortable. Unfortunately, what there is a deduction for is the service. There was a lot going on that day and there was probably an event upstairs. In principle, we also understand when things are more stressful and the service needs to be quicker. Nevertheless, we felt overlooked. The plates for the main course remained there for a long time and were only cleared away when we ordered dessert. Generally we didn't ask if we needed anything else or anything like that. We thought it was a shame because the other points convinced us.

An excellent upscale restaurant. The staff in particular are very attentive and polite. The food is freshly prepared (you can see the kitchen through a window). The ambience is very tasteful. The whole concept is right here. However, the prices are also due to this.

We had reserved a table here for the evening of our 2nd wedding anniversary. This was even taken into account in the table decoration and we got an aperitif on the house :) All in all, we felt very comfortable, the food was incredibly tasty and we would love to come back! The service gets a star deducted because after the plates were cleared we were ignored for a long time (despite empty glasses), which was a bit of a shame. It was also probably not known that you would still want to keep the plate if you put your cutlery on 20 after 8.

Salad and meat were very good, but side dishes were below average and disappointing for the price level. Service and ambience good.

The food in the Waldschlösschen was great and the service was top, very accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed the evening. There are enough parking spaces nearby. Depending on the day of the week, it is advisable to make a reservation so that you can still get a seat. In the cold season, there is the opportunity to dine in “igloos”.

During our visit to the restaurant we politely asked for cake, to which we were told there was no cake and the employee simply left. When we wanted to order a waffle, the employee came back and suddenly began to be loud and aggressive, telling us that there were no waffles, his statement "I told you there were no cakes and waffles!!" That's not true, it was just said that there was no more cake, then we asked an employee explicitly about waffles and she confirmed that we could order a waffle, then, as I said, the employee came back and got loud and denied his colleague's statement. His behavior was extremely disturbing and I felt threatened. This experience was extremely unpleasant and unacceptable. In addition to this incident, the entire staff was rude, aggressive and openly xenophobic. The conditions in the restaurant were anything but pleasant and we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Furthermore, we weren't even greeted when we entered the restaurant. We stood there at a loss for a few minutes without being served, even though not all tables were occupied. It is clear that the restaurant urgently needs training in customer service and cross-cultural sensitivity to avoid such incidents in the future. In addition, we were able to take a look into the kitchen and only discovered frozen goods that did not correspond in the least to the kitchen's promised standard.

It's a shame there aren't more stars to give! We had an unforgettable evening in one of the igloos. What can you say, food top, wines top, service top and the atmosphere tip top!!!

On the occasion of a “big birthday” we were guests with 6 adults in the evening on January 20th, 2024. The service was friendly, but was a bit overwhelmed with explanations of the dishes on offer. The food came relatively quickly. It was with great pleasure that I ordered the particularly highly praised dry aged meat dish. Sorry dear kitchen, the meat was tough, cold and only edible with the accompanying sauce. The cabbage served with it (unfortunately overcooked) had a bad “cellar taste”. The fries were ok - but what's not ok is charging €44 for them. Then we ordered Kaiserschmarren for dessert - it arrived totally oversalted (!?!) - but was then replaced. Why am I writing this now? We weren't asked whether we liked it, and with a total bill of over €400 I would have wished we had and of course then answered! We won't want to come as guests anymore - the party on the second floor was so loud that you could hardly understand your own words. A pity! ADDENDUM to the above post! After our review written above, we were contacted in a very friendly manner by the restaurant manager, Mr. Cabras. In a very long telephone conversation I had the opportunity to report in detail about our experience that evening. We have now agreed that as guests we would like to visit the WALDSCHLÖSSCHEN restaurant again. Thank you very much for the invitation to Mr. Cabras! We are excited and will report back here!

The service is very attentive and the price/performance ratio is very good. I can only recommend the Waldschlösschen.

A few days ago I went to the Waldschlösschen for lunch with my wife. We were passing through and still had a few kilometers to drive, so we thought it would be nice to stop there. Based on the positive reviews, we had relatively high expectations. The service definitely left something to be desired. There were two of us with our small dog. Normally you are always asked if the dog would like something to drink (but it was completely ignored). We waited half an hour for our drinks to arrive even though it wasn't busy. The day's menu wasn't even shown to us, even though it was celebrated for a long time at the next table. She was then simply placed on the chair with us at the table without comment and without saying anything. We found this behavior quite presumptuous and we don't know it. Now we come to the most important part. My wife ordered truffle pasta, which was quite good in terms of presentation. However, the taste was just okay, we know it better. I had the braised ox shoulder and meat was tender, a successful dish. However, when the bill came, we were both very shocked. We have never experienced anything like this. We took a photo of the receipt and added it. I don't know if this is normal, but we think a portion of pasta for lunch for over €80 is an absolute disgrace. In the same way, it is an absolute absurdity to charge almost five euros for a 0.3 drink, but the crowning glory is only now coming. During the long journey back (we still had 4 hours to go) my wife suddenly got extremely strong stomach cramps, which too continued throughout the evening. Included the next day. She had a severe upset stomach with diarrhea and nausea. This clearly means to us that there was something wrong with the food. The same thing happened to me during the evening when I tried her. We are really speechless and something like this has never happened to us after visiting a restaurant. And the fact that you were also ripped off like that is an absolute absurdity!

I was invited there as a surprise. Simply great, especially if you love Christmas. There are so many beautiful things to discover here. The food was first class as well as a wonderful wine selection. Service very friendly. Ambience with a fireplace, an absolute hit. The seating in the glass domes outside also looked very good. We will still test these 😁. If you love dessert, you shouldn't miss this one.

Fine, home-style cuisine in which great value is placed on quality and taste. Goat cheese fried in brick dough, fried veal liver “Berlin style” and venison fillet stuffed with plums tasted very tasty. Bright, cozy atmosphere with a twist. Very friendly and attentive service.

Wir hatten einen sehr gelungenen Abend im Waldschlösschen bei hervorragendem Essen und tollen Weinempfehlungen. Sehr schönes Ambiente, liebevolle Weihnachtsdekoration. Nettes und zuvorkommendes Team !! Alles in Allem sehr gelungen bei vernünftigen Konditionen.

Sehr schön. Leckeres Essen und eine große Vielfalt. Iglo ist wunderschön und Temperatur sowie Licht lässt sich im Innern selber regeln. Einfach was besonderes und empfehlenswert!

Waren gestern mit 8 Leuten im Iglu und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Das Ambiente und der Service waren perfekt. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder.

Das Waldschlösschen in Dagobertshausen ist jede Reise wert! Gehe gerne sehr gut essen, habe aber selten so gut gegessen wie im Waldschlösschen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, kompetent und aufmerksam. Eigenes Nachschenken ist trotz vollem Haus nicht notwendig. Die Küche ist extrem flexibel wenn es um spezielle Wünsche geht, ohne dafür gesonderte Rechnungen zu stellen. Die Glasscheiben zur Hauptküchen zeigen wie gut das Team harmoniert und man kann zuschauen, wie das eigene Hauptgericht zubereitet wird. Für jedes einzelne Essen werden neue Töpfe und Pfannen benutzt. Viele Lokale behaupten so zu arbeiten, aber hier kann man es sehen. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen das Waldschlösschen zu besuchen und sich hier verwöhnen zu lassen.

Wir (Münchner Familie/ Tochter studiert in Gießen) sind hier auf Empfehlung hin und wurden extrem überrascht! Unerwarteterweise war alles perfekt, vom super sympathischen Team, über das köstliche Essen (teils sensationell asiatisch angehaucht, oh diese Garnelen mit dem Sesam Gurkensalat!!!!) bis hin zu der gemütlichen Einrichtung. Unsere beiden Hunde waren auch herzlich willkommen. Beim nächsten Gießen-Besuch unbedingt wieder. Dankeschön!!!
