Wir hatten das Glück, dass wir draußen in der Sonne sitzen durften, mit herrlichem Blick auf den Marktplatz. Die Portionen waren sehr groß und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt absolut. Der Service war perfekt und das Essen sehr lecker. Daher absolute Empfehlung!

Wirklich gutes Essen, auch die Portionen waren gut. In der Lage zahlt man halt einen Tick mehr. Die Käsespätzle und das Schnitzel waren 1a 👍 Ein bisschen Abzug gibt es für den Salatteller, das geht besser, aber dennoch trübt es das Gesamtergebnis nicht! Dazu sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal.

Ein schönes Lokal....am Marktplatz Marburg...Spargelessen und Nachspeise Pannacotta mit Erdbeeren...einfach sehr lecker. Auch die Bedienungen sehr nette und zuvorkommend. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Uns hat es in diesem Restaurant so gut gefallen, dass wir zwei Abende hintereinander dort gegessen haben. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen gefühlt. Und das Essen war soooo lecker. Wir mögen es im Urlaub für die Region typische Gerichte zu essen und da sind wir in der Ratsschänke voll auf unsere Kosten gekommen, vor allem auch mit der Qualität des Essens: es war wirklich vorzüglich! Bei einem nächsten Marburgbesuch schauen wir auf jeden Fall wieder vorbei.

Das Restaurant Ratsschänke hatten wir am Pfingstmontag während unserer Marburg Tour besucht, was sich als gute Entscheidung herausstellte. Während der Sommerzeit hat das Restaurant viele Sitzplätze im Schatten des Rathauses und ist daher sehr angenehm. Drinnen ist es klein aber fein eingerichtet. Der Service war sehr nett und schnell. Haben auch gefragt ob unser Hund Wasser benötigt. Das Essen war gut, wir hatten Grünesoße und Kartoffelnbratwurst. Die Grünesoße war gut und der Kartoffelsalat zur Kartoffelbratwurst sehr lecker 😋 Im Großen und Ganzen ist es einen Abstecher auch jeden Fall wert!

Angefangen beim außergewöhnlich guten Beilagensalat, über die knusprigen und gut gewürzten Pommes, das leckere und große Schnitzel bis hin zu den vegetarischen Käse-Spätzle, einfach perfekt. Super freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Gemütliches Ambiente. Reservierung empfehlenswert, aber nicht erforderlich. Weiter so!

Wir waren heute Abend relativ spontan mit drei Personen zu Gast. Wir bestellten ein Prager Schnitzel, ei. Rahmschnitzel, einmal die Maultaschen und einen Apfelstrudel zum Nachtisch. Das Essen war großartig und es wurde mit Selbstverständlichkeit auf unserr Extrawünsche (Bratensauce statt Rahm) eingegangen. Besonders positiv überrascht waren wir von den handgemachten Spätzle. Auch der Service war heute Abend sensationell. So aufmerksam und sympathisch wurde ich schon lange nicht mehr bedient. Die Ratsschänke ist ab sofort meine neue Adresse für gute deutsche Küche. Ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal. Vielen Dank dafür.

Wir besuchten zufällig mit einer Gruppe von fünf Personen das Restaurant Ratsschänke und hatten Glück, trotz des kleinen und gemütlichen Ambientes sofort einen Tisch zu finden. Der Service war von der Bestellung bis zur Bezahlung exzellent, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Obwohl wir jeder ein anderes Gericht bestellten, wurde uns das Essen ohne große Wartezeit serviert. Die Qualität jedes einzelnen Gerichts war hervorragend, die Portionen großzügig und alles frisch zubereitet. Ich bin mir sicher, dass wir bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Marburg wieder in dieses Restaurant gehen werden.

Ein kleines aber feines Restaurant. Gutbürgerliche deutsche Küche, liebevoll und sehr wohlschmeckend umgesetzt. Der Service zuvorkommend, engagiert und sehr nett. Insgesamt deutlich über Durchschnitt. Jederzeit wieder!

Sehr gemütliche, familiäre Atmosphäre. Wir waren zu viert da und hatten einen schönen Tisch in der Ecke. Das Essen war hervorragend- sehr gute deutsche Küche mit viel Liebe zubereitet.Jeder hatte was anderes bestellt. Aber jedes Gericht von Braten über Gulasch und Schnitzel bis Tafelspitz war top! Aufmerksames Personal, sehr freundlich und witzig. Schade, dass es so etwas nur noch so selten gibt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren in der Ratsschänke in Marburg essen und sind absolut begeistert! Schon beim Betreten merkt man die gemütliche, traditionelle Atmosphäre – genau so stellt man sich eine echte Marburger Gaststube vor. Das Essen war hervorragend: frisch, liebevoll angerichtet und geschmacklich wirklich top. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns, wie gut die Zutaten aufeinander abgestimmt waren. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Qualität und Leidenschaft gekocht wird. Auch der Service verdient ein großes Lob. Das Team war unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und gleichzeitig angenehm locker – man fühlt sich direkt willkommen und gut aufgehoben.

Ein sehr leckeres, liebevoll angerichtetes Essen in einem Urgemütlichen Lokal sowie freundliche Bedienung. Dies Restaurant empfehle ich gerne weiter. Allerdings sollte man immer vorbestellen.

Das Team war super lieb, herzlich und witzig – wir haben uns rundum gut versorgt gefühlt. Nach dem Essen hätte eigentlich nur noch ein Sofa zum kleinen Nickerchen gefehlt. 😄 Dazu dieses wunderschöne, alte Marburger Ambiente – gemütlich, authentisch, ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

The food was absolutely delicious once again. The service was perfect, and everyone was very friendly and nice. I have a small suggestion: it would be nice if the grappa were served in grappa glasses; it looks much better than in shot glasses. You could even serve fruit trees in the glasses. We'll definitely be back.

From the reservation to the end, everything was wonderful. The lady who served us was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. Sadly, that's not always the case anymore. The food was delicious, all homemade. We'd gladly return and can definitely recommend this restaurant.

By far the best German restaurant in Marburg! Quaint, cozy, and centrally located. What more could you want? A family-run business where the kitchen is still run with heart and expertise. The value for money is outstanding. I'll definitely be back. A true bright spot in a city that otherwise only "shines" with kebabs, casseroles, and food tailored to students. A really great restaurant, although it's quite hidden, but once you find it, you'll find it again. The food was fabulous and also very reasonably priced. We were served quickly and received our meals and sides promptly. The ambiance is lovely with all the pictures on the wall. I would definitely recommend it.

Without a reservation, there are no seats available during dinner times. We made a reservation four weeks in advance as we were traveling with eight people. The menu is short and straightforward. The dishes we chose (dark beer roast, schnitzel, and cream roast) were of good quality, with a delicious side salad. The service was excellent. Visited on October 10, 2025

The food was very good. Very good, honest German cuisine. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were wonderfully cheesy and creamy. The Schwarzbierbraten (dark beer roast) was spicy and tender. The price/performance ratio was also good. The service by the young lady was very friendly and attentive. All in all, a lovely, cozy, rustic restaurant right on the market square. Highly recommended!

The Ratsschänke, located right next to Marburg's venerable town hall, is the best place in town for lovers of good German cuisine. I've known the restaurant for over 20 years and am always delighted by the consistently delicious, high-quality food and friendly service. It's definitely worth making a reservation during the colder months, as there aren't many tables available inside. In the summer, when the weather's nice, you can sit outside in front of the town hall with a view of the lively activity on the market square. Simply lovely!

We dined here last night and this afternoon. The service was very good both times, very friendly, and attentive. Yesterday, the weather was nice, and we were able to sit outside. We ordered Frankfurter Grüne Sauce with boiled eggs and boiled potatoes, and Boiled Tafelspitz with Frankfurter Grüne Sauce and boiled potatoes, along with two beers. The drinks were served quickly, and we only had to wait a reasonable amount of time for our ordered dishes. We enjoyed both dishes very much. The Tafelspitz was beautifully tender and completely fat-free. This afternoon, the weather wasn't ideal for eating outside, so we sat inside the restaurant. The waitress was great. I was immediately given a rug for my minor health issue. We ordered two beers and just two beef consommés with pancake strips and root vegetables. The drinks and food were served quickly. We also enjoyed the beef consommé very much. The prices are reasonable. We say thank you.

We really enjoyed the restaurant. We had mushrooms with spaetzle and Frankfurt green sauce with potatoes and egg. Everything was freshly made and with love. The young lady serving was extremely nice and did a great job.

2024: A nice little restaurant. We sat outside on the edge of the market square in early summer (June). Very cozy. The waitress was a bit overwhelmed but very friendly. The schnitzel was good. The cream of asparagus soup was delicious. Update 2025: The cream of potato soup with salmon is highly recommended. One waitress was great. The other was a bit overwhelmed. I think they shouldn't answer the question about the missing side dish by saying that they don't have three hands and the side dish doesn't arrive for the next 10 minutes, even though other guests get their meals completely afterwards. But that could also be an issue with the kitchen organization. Several dishes arrived without side dishes, which were then brought later, which unfortunately seems very unprofessional. Therefore, only 3 points overall.

Absolutely disgusting place! I ordered schnitzel with fries, but only got the schnitzel, no fries, and no spaetzle either. The manager and the senior manager said I was just too stupid to order. I had to pay the full price and was insulted because I didn't have enough change. The toilets are moldy.

Four of us ate on Monday evening: Prague schnitzel, pepper cream schnitzel, black beer roast... Simple, down-to-earth dishes of good quality and very tasty👨‍🍳 Plus confident, friendly, and proactive (blankets in the windy outdoor area!!) service👌 The espressos were also first-class; some Italians could learn a thing or two from them☺️ Conclusion: This is how gastronomy works😎 Highly recommended 👍
