Wenn das Sushi und das Essen nicht so gut wäre, würden wir schon lange nicht mehr hierher kommen. Die Preise sind viel zu teuer für Konstanz und das Personal ist absolute Katastrophe und unfreundlich. Sehr schade, dass man nicht mehr Wert legt auf die Kundenzufriedenheit, aber muss man ja nicht wenn der Laden immer voll ist.

Us was told:best sushi in town.. to bad the service could‘t give a ……..No complainmemts towards the kitchen(maybe the homemade fries should be fried a little longer) but our main problem was the very arrogant service!! order of drinks never worked out and we even have to go inside to tell them they forgot(2 times!!) they really don’t give a damn if you come back agian. I think none of the owners was around to see how terrible this place is. and if he was he should be ashame of himself!!! we will come again when the servicecrew is more proffessional!

1. Reservation on a Saturday evening is important. We made a reservation by phone around lunchtime and surprisingly got a table for 8:15 p.m. When we arrived we only had to wait outside for about 5 minutes. 2. Large selection of fish and meat. Vegetarian dishes are also available. The drinks menu is just as big as the menu, so you'll find something for everyone. 3. The quality and price-performance ratio are very good. 4. Chic restaurant, a bit noisy, but the restaurant can't help that. 5. Our waitress was friendliness personified, very humorous and courteous. 6. However, I found the dessert a little “prudish” compared to what was promised on the dessert menu. 7. A second visit is already planned 😍 Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Umami restaurant was great. Staff was super friendly. (Except for the waiter with the beard who really worked hard to serve us the food) But otherwise very satisfied overall. The drinks were deliciously mixed. I would be happy to go here again.

A restaurant with a good atmosphere but high prices. The sushi punch was good and filling, but I wouldn't eat there for a sushi evening due to the price. The sushi was a bit bland in taste, the service gave you the feeling that you were more of a bother and was only at the table briefly and quickly. I would have expected more for the prices quoted. 75 euros for three sushi rolls and a punch are very expensive.

Illiterate waiters in front of the door who look at you from top to bottom.... If you want to eat alone, please don't go there.... Only couples or groups are taken seriously

The 3 stars are for the beautiful ambience. Unfortunately, the food is overpriced (e.g. almost 20€ for 8 pieces of California rolls with surimi and eel. These rolls with tuna and eel came before and the price is unchanged) and the service is slow. Even though the restaurant wasn't full, we waited 15 minutes with no food or drinks on the bill. Plastic cocktail glasses don't really suit a restaurant that charges so much money.

Unfortunately we went to eat here for my birthday and I got food poisoning as a gift that left me in bed. I will never return to this restaurant again and I don't recommend it either.

It was around 15 degrees cold in the restaurant (we had to leave our jackets on), the sushi gave us stomach ache, we weren't allowed to take seats less quickly and the service was extremely uncaring.

The food (we had Gao Bao, a bowl, some meat and desert) was to die for; service could have been quicker at the one or the other point in time, but the shop was buzzing, and for good reason. Recommendation for anyone stopping by - allthogh it comes at a certain price tag.

We made it to Umami for the first time today and it was great! Super nice people, nice, special atmosphere & delicious food.

Sushi is at a very good level, as you all know in Germany and in Europe in general there is a problem with this, but here it is very tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Outside and inside, nothing special - an ordinary cafe, but the sushi is top, I recommend it!!! We go all the time, everyone likes it very much.

A very nice location. Unfortunately, my steak was too dry and not hot. Fries were fried a little too long. 2 shrimps on the meat didn't fit at all. They were also cold. Cocktail was great. Service was nice and attentive. I won't order this plate again, but we will come back.

We both had rib-eye steaks, both were lukewarm to cold, zero Maillard reaction despite the advertised Josper Grill, limp, boring fries, mediocre sauces. Terrible whiskey sour that didn't get any better even after complaining. All in all, our worst steak experience ever. How a rating of 4.3 comes about is a mystery to me, maybe these are very old reviews, currently I have to say we will definitely never eat anything here again.

Park at the Fish Market garage and waln 5 minutes. Great sushi, but also good vegetarian selection and quality meat and seafood. Very popular - book ahead.

Das Umami ist immer sehr gut besucht, also unbedingt reservieren. Im Februar 2024 waren wir zum dritten Mal im Umami. Wir waren begeistert: Das Essen einfach lecker und der Service locker-flockig-nett (auch im grössten Stress). Das Essen ist nicht billig, aber es lohnt sich in jedem Fall. Gerne kommen wir wieder!

Reserved and arrived 5 minutes early, that's not possible. So I was sent back to the entrance... at least you can sit at the dentist. Somehow no one cared that I was thirsty. The food then only tastes half as good and the service can no longer change that...as we all know, first impressions count.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at your place a few months ago. The food was super tasty and we really enjoyed it! Especially the following dishes: edamame, steaks and the tartare. The service was pretty good and accommodating. The atmosphere was very “laid-back” which I really liked! But the distances between the tables were a bit narrow. We visit Umami more often and are thrilled. The sushi is always excellent, fresh and well presented. Our waitress with the sweet name Kiwi, who had already served us in the summer, was very attentive and served us well. I think Umami is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Konstanz. Reservation recommended.

Waited 2 hours for food. Was cold. Was told we could choose a digestive for compensation. Then was told that gin is too expensive. Could get an espresso. What the hell. I spent loads of $$s here for business meetings. Very disappointed. What a let down. Somebody is trying to earn too much $$s.

I love sushi and my husband is a steak fan. Needless to say, this is the perfect restaurant for us. The sushi was incredibly tasty and fresh. The steak was also very yummy. The staff were nice and service was quick. Also the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and gave us a comfy-cozy vibe. Will definitely be back!

Furchtbar. Haben 2h auf essen gewartet. 3x vertröstet. Essen kam kalt. Dann wurde Kompensation angeboten. Gin. Dann war der Gin zu teuer. Wir können einen Espresso haben. WTF. Ich habe hier 100e $$s ausgegeben, und dann das? Wird nicht mehr lange so gehen…

Mega leckeres Sushi 🍣. Wichtig: Reservieren. Sieht von außen zunächst unscheinbar aus, aber Innenausstattung ist der Knaller. Sehr netter Service.

Das Fleisch war sehr gut auf den Punkt. Was die Leute allerdings an matschig Süsskartoffel-Pommes-irgendwas finden, verstehe ich nicht. Manchmal sollte man sich unsinnigen Trends halt widersetzen. Es geht nichts über "normale" Kartoffeln, und für Form und Größe des Schnitts gibt es erprobte Varianten.

denken sie können sich alles erlauben, obwohl wir seit 5 Tagen reserviert hatten bekamen wir einen Tisch beim Eingang an der bar an dem wir uns nicht einmal gegenüber sitzen konnten. Auf Nachfrage ob es keinen anderen Tisch gibt bekamen wir die Antwort nein, obwohl die Hälfte des Restaurants noch leer war. Anschliessend sind wir ins Deli gegangen, wo wir viel lieber bedient wurden und das sogar ohne reservation.

Alles perfekt wie immer! Bitte unbedingt so weitermachen!

Trotz Reservierung auf Zeit keinen Tisch rechtzeitig erhalten. Zum Schluss wurden keine Bestellungen angenommen mit missverständlicher Begründung (Eindruck: Personal wollte Feierabend und Betrieb hat es nicht nötig).

Great restaurant, quick service and delicious sushi! We tried only sushi and they were extremely fresh! Also, the restaurant is located in the city center which is super convenient.

Wa have to wait for an hour for our food to come and it’s even wrong so the waiter brought it back and we have to wait another 10 minutes until we can start our lunch at nearly 2 o‘clock because we have to wait for 15 minutes until we got menu. The food didn’t even taste good. 😒😒😒 our first and last of course. 👎

Mein Lieblings-Sushiladen. Die Kreationen hier harmonieren so unglaublich gut, dass ich gefühlt einen neuen Sinn entwickelt habe, als ich das erste Mal hier gegessen habe. Natürlich hat das durchaus seinen Preis, aber mir war es das immer wert. Das Bento was ich hier hatte war auch sehr gut, wenn auch ein wenig zu scharf für mich. Das Ambiente, was mein Freund als "Hipster" beschrieben hat, fand ich persönlich sehr ansprechend :)

Gewisse Sushi Rollen sind sehr gut, andere sind nicht empfehlenswert. Preise sind verhältnismäßig in Ordnung. Einrichtung und Atmosphäre sind gut!

Das Restaurant befindet sich mittendrin in centrum von Konstanz. Super nette Service, Super Ambiente. Gegessen hab ich hier nicht , ich esse nicht gerne Sushi

Ich habe hier jetzt schon 2x vor Ort gegessen und mehrfach Sushi Platten to-go gehabt und es war jedes mal sehr lecker. Ich würde hier öfter bestellen und mitnehmen, wenn ich nicht knapp 40 Minuten fahren müsste :-(. Immer wieder gerne, da die Qualität bisher immer gleich ist bei einem Besuch!

Wir haben die Sushi-Platte Deluxe genommen. Da wir Nigiri u Sashimi nicht mögen haben wir diese abgeändert und dem Kellner 3x gesagt, bitte nicht durch scharfe ersetzen. Ja das sei kein Problem. Haben uns auf die Platte gefreut und dan die bittere Entäuschung beim reinbeissen, 3 Rollen waren komplett scharf das man kaum mehr weiter essen konnte. Ansonsten würde ich das Lokal sehr empfehlen, jedoch ist es bereits das 2x mal, dass wir in dem Lokal waren und den Kellnern mitgeteilt haben, ohne scharf und dan trotzdem scharf bekommen haben.

Schönes Ambiente mit nostalgischer Einrichtung. Sushi fantastisch. Hier waren wir nicht das letzte mal.

War sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich. Das Restaurant ist echt cool eingerichtet. Etwas speziell fand ich, damit ich die Reste mitnehmen durfte, einen Aufpreis zahlen musste.

Sehr lecker. Ideal auch, wenn nicht alle Sushi mögen. Speziell fein ist das vegetarische Sushi. Leider war es recht laut und unser Tisch stand mitten im Durchgang.

Das Umami zählt zu unseren absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants in Konstanz und kann ohne Einschränkungen empfohlen werden. Egal ob Sushi, Fleisch oder Fisch, der Wareneinsatz ist sehr gut und die Zubereitung immer auf den Punkt. Für unseren Geschmack alles sehr lecker. Das Personal zudem sehr freundlich. Die Atmosphäre lädt sowohl für Geschäftsessen als auch private Abende ein. Negativ ist eigentlich nur, dass die letzten Jahre die Tische im Innenbereich immer enger gestellt werden und die Unsitte, dass es abends zwei Slots je Tisch gibt. Will man in Ruhe ohne Deadline Essen, ist man gezwungen den zweiten Slot um 20:00 Uhr zu reservieren. Das übliche (etwas überzogene) Konstanzer Preisniveau passt in Relation hier noch am Besten. Insgesamt ist das umami aber sein Geld wert.

Unser Junior würde 11 von 10 Punkten geben. Das Rindertartar war sehr lecker und auch das Rinderfilet hatte einen sehr besonderen Geschmack. Das Sushi war ebenfalls hervorragend. Und auch der Service top. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben hier eine Ramen Suppe gegessen. Leider hat sie uns geschmacklich nicht überzeugt. Der Service war zum Teil auch etwas unaufmerksam obwohl nicht viel los war. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, aber die Hochstühle an den hohen Tischen waren echt unbequem.

Waren hier schon desöfteren zum Sushi essen und gehen sehr gerne immer wieder ins umami. Leider hat aber die Qualität in letzter Zeit im allgemeinen etwas abgenommen (Essen und Personal). Teller werden an falsche Tische geliefert, Sushi sind nicht so sorgfältig gemacht wie früher. Im Gegenzug der abnehmenden Qualität sind die Preise massiv gestiegen. Man merkt leider, dass sehr viel Wert auf viel Umsatz in kürzester Zeit gelegt wird. Der Gast ist nicht mehr im Mittelpunkt. Essen noch ok, Gesamterlebnis war schon besser.

Leider wurde das Avocado Sushi vergessen und trotzdem verrechnet. Als wir den Kellner darauf aufmerksam machten gab es keine Entschuldigung und er brachte uns Gurken Sushi. Wir machten ihn erneut darauf aufmerksam, dass wir Avocado Sushi und nicht Gurken Sushi hatten. Weiterhin kein Entschuldigung und der Kellner war sehr genervt. Ansonsten gutes Essen und ein schönes Ambiente.

War zum Mittagessen hier und haben eine Limonade getrunken und zwei Sushi (vegetarisch) bestellt. Da das Sushi von der „normalen“ Karte, nicht von der Mittagskarte war, war das Mittagessen recht teuer. Der Service war auch etwas chaotisch. Es war nicht so richtig klar, wer für meinen Tisch zuständig ist. Das Essen war aber sehr lecker, auch die Limonade.

2 Personen unseres 4er Tisches waren schon da und wir kamen dazu. Haben dann fast 30 min gewartet bis wir gefragt wurden was wir trinken möchten und bis wir Wählen konnten. Gegen 21:15 waren wir fertig mit dem Hauptgang. Leider wurden wir dann, wie auch ganz am Anfang, vom Service ignoriert. Die 2 Flasche Wein konnten wir grade noch bestellen nachschenken mussten wir jedoch selbst. Um 22:15 hat man endlich abgeräumt und wir wollten Dessert bestellen worauf der Kellner sagte dies wäre nicht mehr möglich da die Küche nur bis 22:00 da sei. Man hat uns zwar schon noch eine Alternative angeboten jedoch war das nicht das richtige für uns. Hätte man uns nicht einfach 1 Stunde sitzen lassen hätten wir also noch Dessert bestellen können und der schöne Abend hätte kein aprubtes Ende genommen. Man hätte auch einfach um 21:30 kurz nachfragen können ob noch Dessert gewünscht war (wenn nicht alle Kellner plötzlich verschwunden wären). Leider fühlt man sich so als Gast sehr unerwünscht!!! Kaffee oder Digestiv haben wir natürlich nicht mehr genommen. Ich muss mir gut überlegen ob ich nochmals ins Umami komme, den der Service lässt leider das Essen nicht mehr so toll aussehen.

Abbiamo avuto un piccolo disguido per il tavolo,ma dopo aver parlato col capo sala, il problema è stato risolto. Siamo molto soddisfatti.
