Delivery service, everything very tasty, very hot.. keep it up.. the farmer's salad is a dream

As part of my birthday celebration, I invited my family to the Rhodes Restaurant in September 2024. Arranging to reserve a table over the phone was already a disaster. My last name is certainly not easy and we are used to spelling it, but after “Jar” they interrupted me and wanted to know how many people were coming. It was pointed out again that my name hadn't been written down completely yet, and I was interrupted again with the question of how many people should be reserved for the table. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were initially ignored, even though there were enough staff at the entrance. Finally we were greeted and shown to our table. The young man asked us what we would like to drink, even though we were not given the menu beforehand to know what the restaurant actually offers to drink. Then they delivered the drinks, which were wrong because they belonged to the table next to us. Without further ado, we handed the drinks over to the guests. We still hadn't been given any menus, even though they were already next to us. When I asked if we would get menus, she handed me one and said that the others also needed one. At least they apologized for not having distributed them yet and so we could finally see what we wanted to eat. The food was tasty, but also felt that the portions were small, unlike the previous owner (the rice was very manageable). I know this better from other Greek restaurants in Kiel… Overall there were a lot of things that went wrong and I was pretty disappointed. Of course the incident happened a few months ago and mistakes happen, but you're annoyed that you spent so much money and it didn't go as planned... Nevertheless, I would like to give this restaurant another chance before choosing another restaurant for the next celebrations.

Very nice young dynamic staff. Food was very good and generous portions. It's a cozy atmosphere if a little dark. It wasn't our last visit, that's for sure.

We have ordered there several times now. Food is super delicious. It tastes really great. The only point I have is that the Bifteki could have a bit more cheese in it for its size, because it is really big

As always, the food there was very good and the service was super nice. But: a 0.5 liter beer now costs 6.30 euros and is outrageously expensive.

Unfortunately the food was inedible and probably no longer fresh. However, the complaint was not acknowledged and treated unkindly.

Very cozy atmosphere, adapted to the season. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous, not intrusive. No matter what dish I have eaten so far, it is always freshly prepared and simply delicious.

The food is very good. Special requests/allergies are also taken into account.

We had them delivered. Meat hard and burnt, we paid 50 euros for a plate. Meat inedible, tzatziki grainy, food cold (5 minute drive) fries sticky. The complaint was not addressed. Just bad and not recommended

I ordered for pickup. The food wasn't ready when I arrived, but I only had to wait a few minutes. The atmosphere in the restaurant itself is more like a pub. The food itself was ok. My partner's gyros (15€) were said to be delicious. I chose the Rhodes vegetable pan (€15) because it listed champions and I really like eating them. however, no champions were included. Actually it was 80% broccoli and then some eggplant and tomatoes. The taste was ok. But the sauce is one hundred percent convenience. Cost of goods sold without the mushrooms probably 2.50... Well, all in all a bit disappointing. The Lukumades (5€) were tasty and plentiful.

My second favorite Greek restaurant has a new host. And unfortunately not to our taste. The farmer's salad was good, as were the unsalted fries. But unfortunately I had to return my meal: gyros with fries and rice twice because of charred meat. The changed order, bifteki, was unseasoned and so thin that I wondered how the chef worked the minimally thin slice of cheese in there. Unfortunately the bifteki was not seasoned. It tasted neutral and bland. I also returned this dish after trying it briefly. YES, I have demands on the food in a restaurant that I pay a lot of money for!! The "thanks" for our displeasure from the management - they can only learn from mistakes - was quite nice, but the fact that we also had to pay for the food was pretty bold. No apology, no dessert offered, no deduction of at least the drinks from the bill. Just the hint that other guests like it. By the way, it should be noted that service staff wearing sloppy clothing is not nice to look at. Table lighting that is so dark that you can't see your food is just bad. It's a shame, really a shame.

We have been regulars there for a long time. From our perspective, the portion sizes have also changed. It is still delicious, but it has lost some of the warmth and charm of the previous operator. The service was okay..

Very polite and competent service! Very tasty cuisine and a decent portion on the plate. Definitely worth recommending. I'll eat there again. The benches could be replaced...otherwise very comfortable. Ouzo was also offered 2-3 times, on the house. Keep it up Rhodes.

Unfortunately the food is not of good quality. Meat hard/dry, farmer's salad with yogurt dressing instead of vinegar and oil and the rice swims in a tomato sauce and is not tasty. Thought we'd try something new. Too bad, it wasn't worth it. The menu even says “Knorr cream sauce”… should have given you pause.

The food was okay, the terrace is very small but you can sit outside. Dessert was good 👍

Everything was wonderful again, only the tzatziki needed work and it tasted much better. We'd love to come back.

2024 .30.08 The taste of the food was great. Unfortunately the portions are no longer the same as in 2023. It feels like all the dishes have become more expensive and smaller. 2024 .22.01 .2024 Food was again super tasty and plentiful. On January 13th, 2024 the restaurant probably made an error. 2024. 01/13/2024 Unfortunately the restaurant has declined significantly. I ordered a gyro plate for 16.90 euros and saganaki for 9.8 euros from home. Unfortunately, both were just a children's portion. Had to make myself something to eat after dinner at home. 2023 Normal Greek with great food.

We eat here frequently. The food always tastes very good, the portions are good and the prices are right. Personally, I would really like to have one or two more vegetarian or even vegan dishes. If you want to eat vegan, you probably won't go to a Greek restaurant anyway. Inside it is a very nice restaurant with 5/5 stars. Unfortunately there is no beer garden, just a few chairs and tables in front of the restaurant. However, there is very little traffic on the street, so you can also sit outside here.

We were just with you and are completely satisfied. We both had the gyros, our little one was allowed to "robber" with us. For dessert there were these incredibly delicious yeast balls with honey and ice cream. Nice service. Very attentive, fond of children 🥰 we had a nice place outside under a parasol, a high chair was immediately brought for our 1 year old son. We felt very comfortable. Thank you. See you soon!

We have been there several times and most recently last Saturday. It was surprisingly empty, which is unusual for this restaurant. This could be due to the now very high price level combined with the significantly smaller portions. The quality and taste of the food are still at a very high level. Unfortunately I wasn't full anymore. But I expect this at such a high price level. Therefore we will probably reorient ourselves. A pity! The restaurant's previous comment on this review: The portions have definitely become smaller! We want to stay honest, right?

We stayed in Kiel for 5 nights, went to dinner here more or less by chance on the first evening and were so impressed by the price-performance ratio and the quality that we didn't want to try anything else. Highly Recommended ( ! )

Incredible! I just had the best stifado I've ever eaten (better than what I make myself)! When asked by the friendly waitress: completely prepared by my own mother, who is in the kitchen. I'm excited!

We dined in the “club room” on April 13th, 2024 with 17 people on the occasion of our silver wedding anniversary. The room was very well prepared and what was good about it was that we and our guests (including small children) were undisturbed and none of the other guests were bothered. You can see that everything is getting a bit old, but you can also see that work is already being done on it, little by little! For dinner we had the Rhodes and Paros platter, which were nicely prepared and everyone enjoyed it very, very much. We also ordered liver, which was also extremely good. The salads served were fresh, crunchy and very tasty. Tzatziki was also very tasty and especially not with mayo as is now often the case with many others. In between, an ouzo was distributed, which is no longer common practice these days. To our surprise, Lukumades and very lovingly prepared fruit were served as dessert, which was very nice and tasted great. The staff had a lot to do but were still very polite, friendly and nice. We all felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Finally, it should be mentioned that the food was so plentiful that there was still some left over, which, of course, was packed up and given to us. Price/performance ratio and quality absolutely good. Dear Dennis and team, you are absolutely on the right track with everything and are definitely bringing back a bit of lost “restaurant culture” with a lot of warmth. Please keep it up!!!

A fantastic tomato rice. That alone would be enough for me. Great service that can also handle an overtired child. A fun group and great food

We were there again today after a long time. From what I read on Google, there seem to be new owners there. I have to say that we still enjoyed the food. Personally, however, I liked the quality/processing of the meat better back then. There were one or two nubbles in there. Prices have now risen almost everywhere, but value for money was okay. The service was very nice and we would come again.

Super great restaurant with a very attentive and friendly waiter. Even our grandma, who unfortunately isn't so good on her feet, was helped to the restaurant and to the car when she arrived and departed. We found that really helpful and is not something we take for granted these days! A huge compliment for that :-) Food is highly recommended and very tasty. We will be back :-) Best regards

Yesterday we were in the restaurant for the second time after it changed ownership and we were completely satisfied! We went at “prime time”, on a Saturday, spontaneously and without a reservation. We wouldn't have been mad if there hadn't been any more space, but a space was made available for us straight away, great!! The food is really, really tasty. Even though it was full, the wait for food wasn't long and the ladies and gentlemen were always friendly. We'd love to come back :)

We've been going to Rhodes for ages, about 20 years. We were there on January 29th, 2024 and, as always, I took a grill pan. When the pan came I thought it was a children's portion. It had become more expensive anyway but the portion was really a joke. Cola without ice cubes was really shameful. Then from now on it's a different Greek. I wish the old owner was back!!!!!

Everything perfect. Service great, friendly, funny and fast. Food was nice why, plentiful and very tasty. Only the building is a bit old and partly neglected.

Hallo,lieber Ntenis :-) Wir waren heute Abend mal wieder bei Euch...warum auch immer,war unsere Reservierung für 6 Plätze untergegangen... Nicht schön,aber Du hast eine,auch für uns,gute Lösung gefuden :-) Gaaaanz liiieeben Dank dafür.... Das Essen war,wie erwartet, suuuper Es gab eine reduzierte Karte zu Weihnachten, (wussten wir vorher nicht)deswegen einen Stern weniger,da Sonderwünsche nicht möglich waren ,Service topp..... Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen....

Mit den Getränken hat’s ein wenig gehapert, es war aber auch recht viel los. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und die Portionsgröße passt zum Preis. Die Loukumades zum Nachtisch haben etwas gedauert, waren aber Mega lecker, so unterschiedlich groß wie die waren vielleicht sogar selbstgemacht? Zumindest empfehlenswert

Ein Erlebnis der Extraklasse! ich möchte heute meine Begeisterung für ein ganz besonderes Restaurant mit euch teilen. Vor Kurzem hatte ich das Vergnügen, das Rhodos zu besuchen und wurde von Anfang bis Ende regelrecht verzaubert. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants wurde ich von einem herzlichen Empfang begrüßt. Die Speisekarte bot eine breite Auswahl und jeder Bissen war ein wahrer Genuss für die Sinne, egal ob es die Vor oder Hauptspeise oder der Nachtisch war. Auch der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Das Personal war äußerst aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Rhodos ist nicht nur ein Ort zum Essen sondern ein Ort, an dem man sich verwöhnen lassen kann. Hier wird Gastfreundschaft großgeschrieben und man fühlt sich als Gast wirklich willkommen.

Wir waren gestern mit einem befreundeten Paar zum zweiten Mal innerhalb von 3 Wochen hier. Das Essen war sehr gut und hat uns allen geschmeckt. Die Qualität der Speisen ist nach dem Besitzerwechsel gleich gut geblieben, die Portionen sind auch für gute Esser wie mich ausreichend.Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, die Getränke waren sehr schnell am Tisch, das Essen kam auch zeitnah. Wir werden immer wieder gerne hierher kommen!

Hallo ,wir gehen seit Jahren ins Rhodos, mein Lieblingsgericht war Gyros mit Käse überbacken in Metaxasauce . Der Inhaber hat gewechselt und ich vermute der Koch auch . Mein Lieblingsgericht schmeckte leider komplett anders .Ich konnte leider nur ein Viertel davon essen ..Mein Mann hat dann sein Essen und mein Essen auch noch gegessen .Ihm hat es geschmeckt .Ansonsten sehr freundliches Personal. Wir gehen wieder hin, aber ich werde dann etwas anderes essen .

Bisher unser Lieblingsgrieche. Nun unter neuer Geschäftsführung. Das Essen ist geschmacklich immer noch sehr gut. Die Preise wurden verständlicherweise erhöht. Leider war meine Portion (Leber mit Beilagen) etwas spärlich besonders die Beilagen. Die letzten 26 Jahre konnten wir uns nie über die Größe der Portionen beschweren. Schade das es sich geändert hat.

Guter Service in nettem Ambiente. Und das Essen ist auch noch sehr gut. Kann ich guten Gewissens empfehlen.

Sind seit 8 Jahren dort. Es war immer lecker. Der Betreiber ist supernett und erinnert sich an seine Gäste. Das ist heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Volle Empfehlung.

Leckeres Essen und reichliche Portionen

Service ist mittelmäßig, Getränke standen knapp 10 Minuten an der Bar, obwohl der Tisch direkt gegenüber war. Essen war nicht gut gewürzt. Personal völlig überfordert, Bestellungen wurden vergessen. Werde kein 2tes mal hingehen.

Restaurant Rhodos Kiel Elmschenhagen Ein gemütliches Restaurant, geführt von Lieben Menschen! Das Essen ist Lecker, das Bier auch, man wird immer Freundlich behandelt. Die Preise sind Zivil und satt wird man auch. Kenne die Inhaber jetzt über 20 Jahre und kann das Restaurant, bedenkenlos Empfehlen! Wer kein Schiki-Miki Restaurant braucht, ist hier genau richtig! War Lange nicht mehr da, wird mal wieder Zeit. Gruß Leif

Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Leider war mein Essen nicht so doll. Lammkeule war okay, die Aubergine völlig zerkocht. Für 19 Euro hätte ich zumindest ein Stück Brot dazu erwartet...

Auf Grund der Corona Situation wurde ein bestimmter Tisch rechtzeitig reserviert. Dieser war bei unserem Eintreffen an 6 Personen bereits vergeben - wir waren ja nur zu fünft war die Antwort. Von dem Besitzerehepaar wurde die Mund-Nasen-Maske unterhalb der Nase getragen. Um es vorweg zu nehmen, ab 21 Uhr wurde die Maske gar nicht mehr getragen, allenfalls in der Hosentasche! Getränke- und Essenbestellung dauerte sehr lange. Das Essen war dann aber sehr lecker und reichlich. Selbst weitere Getränkebestellungen gingen sehr schleppend. Um die Rechnung mussten wir doppelt bitten und wurden dann noch gefragt, wieviel Bier wir hatten. Zur Verabschiedung wurde dann vorbildlich die Maske getragen. Hier wird es vorgelebt, warum die Branche leider wieder komplett dicht machen muss. Sorry, ein no go! zu Corona-Zeiten.

Trotz gültigem Gutschein des Kieler Gutschein Hefts kein 2 für 1 Rabatt... Dazu eher unfreundlich abgestritten das der Gutschein gültig ist...

Gute Küche, ist nicht mehr so wie es mal war. Schade hatte es immer für einen Griechen wie es in Griechenland ist empfehlenswert gefunden.

Wir waren heute mit dem Gutscheinbuch hier im Restaurant essen und haben festgestellt, was man bestenfalls Gestellen sollte: DAS MACHEN WIR WIEDER! Preis-Leistung stimmt wirklich und die Bedienung war nett und aufmerksam! Es sieht von außen nicht berauschend aus, aber das Essen und der Ouzo waren super! Also gerne Besuchen!

Ich habe wohl das beste griechische Restaurant gefunden. Alle sind super nett und herzlich. Kinder sind gerne gesehen und es ist eine sehr tolle Atmosphäre. Natürlich war das Essen super lecker und die Preise sind TOP, hier komme ich gerne wieder
