Authentic food, no long wait, and friendly service! The appetizer platter is highly recommended!

One of the worst restaurants ever. The moussaka was burnt on the bottom, dry around the edges, and unidentifiable on top. The lighting was cold neon, and the table was constructed in such a way that you couldn't stretch out your hands underneath it. The staff was friendly, though. Still, never again.

The value for money is excellent for a Greek restaurant. The change of ownership has given the place a new lease of life, and you are served by friendly and reliable staff. The menu features classic dishes, prepared to very high standards. The restaurant offers plenty of space for all group sizes. In addition to the ample indoor seating, there is also the option of sitting down in the beer garden. I always look forward to the appealing and delicious food. The ambiance also invites you to linger a bit longer with a few drinks. Big praise to the two new owners, who have given the place a real boost.

If you're looking for a delicious Greek restaurant, Alssos is the place to be. The food is a 10/10, and the service is also excellent. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. Thanks again to the owner for the delicious dessert :)

Restaurant with a large seating capacity (divided into several rooms and possibly a covered beer garden). Friendly service, who takes time for a few words or a joke as they pass by. Delicious food. Despite the bad weather, the restaurant is surprisingly busy (surely no coincidence). In short: Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the rice was extremely overseasoned. It had a strong peppery taste, and the meat was very inconsistent, from dry to tender. The service was friendly, but it felt like a fast-food restaurant. We were just seated and had to choose a drink, and were immediately asked what we wanted. At the next table, guests still had their jackets on and hadn't even sat down yet, when they were already asked what they wanted to drink. The service here definitely needs to be improved. Unless they want to lose long-standing customers in the future!

Yes, a very good restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, reasonably priced, and the service was very friendly and helpful. And whatever I couldn't finish from my portion, I was able to take home in a container provided by the waiter.

3* I have to honestly say I almost never give 5 stars, but this restaurant deserves it. The service is always courteous and attentive. Friendly, always with a smile and up for a laugh. The food was served quickly, plentiful, sometimes even too much for my stomach. Unbeatable value for money. The chef knows his craft. The restaurant itself is idyllic, quiet, clean, and in the evenings. The ambiance is simply wonderful in the summer, the terrace is very nice. I felt very comfortable and was not just a guest, but a person who was treated well. So definitely worth a visit again and again, and I won't be there for the last time.

Yesterday, we were at Alssos Greek Restaurant in Kiel with 11 people. The food was perfect, very tasty, and the portions were generous – we were all full. The prices are super reasonable. The location is also great, with plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Greek cuisine with heart – and delicious yeast balls! This wasn't our first visit to Alssos – and certainly won't be the last. This time we had our dog with us, and we were seated outside at the edge, which was completely problem-free. Ambience: Very chic and modern inside, the outside atmosphere could be a bit more cozy – but there's plenty of space. Service: Super friendly! Right from the start, we were offered a free ouzo, and the food arrived quickly and without long waits. Food: Typically Greek, very tasty, and the portions were absolutely sufficient for us. We especially liked the quality – juicy meat, beautifully grilled, with delicious side dishes. Tip: Be sure to try the yeast balls for dessert – warm, sweet, and with cinnamon and honey, a real highlight! Bonus: The parking lot has finally been repaired – no more pothole slalom. There are plenty of spaces. And all this is right next to the Nordmark sports field. Conclusion 👍 A perfect all-rounder – authentic cuisine, friendly service, dog-friendly outside, and with its own charm. We'd love to come back!

We received a wedding anniversary voucher, which unfortunately never arrived. Due to a change in operator, the vouchers are no longer valid. There's no mention of this on the menus or in the display case at the front of the parking lot. Only a note about it on the second door. But since you can also sit outside, you usually don't read the note. No help from the new operator or the overwhelmed staff. Unfortunately, this stunt ruined Sunday evening. The food was OK. The service too. We won't be coming back on principle, even though we've been there many times. Apparently, the customer no longer matters. This is our personal opinion.

My husband and I ate there a few days ago. Our food was okay—nothing outstanding, but not bad either. But the service was abysmal. A bad mood was written all over the waiters' faces. Friends recommended the place to us with the warning that, when the place is full, you'll have to call more often, which we fully understand; it can be stressful at times. But I wouldn't have thought it would be that bad. The tone is snarky, and even though it's so busy, the employees/manager still have time to chat with (possibly private) customers they seem to know personally and serve them quickly, while the "regular" customers wait. Totally outrageous.

It was okay... very crowded... but very loud... No coziness at all... please no more corn in the salad... and please preheat the plates... The meat got cold very quickly... the liver was very dry ...

We have been there several times but this time it was horrible, the schnitzel was dry and the service was incredibly slow, there weren't many people there and more than enough waiters, but we still waited a long time for the food and even longer to pay, we were ignored several times when we wanted to pay and the waiters talked to each other and the guests, we waited an hour to pay and we had to pack the food ourselves

Typical Greek restaurant with the usual menu. Even though it wasn't busy, the salad was forgotten. We sat there for three hours and weren't even asked if we wanted anything else. Where has Greek hospitality gone???? Individual payment was only possible at the counter, not outside, and if you don't know your table number right away—oh my goodness. Portions could be larger. Little, but tasty rice, gyro meat was dry. Sitting outside is dry, while sitting inside is like a hall. Everything has deteriorated significantly in recent years. There are better Greek restaurants in Kiel!

Tucked away in the countryside, it's quiet and has a spacious outdoor area. The staff is very friendly and the food is truly delicious. It's a shame we discovered it so late. We'd love to come back.

Everything is absolutely perfect here! Delicious food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. The terrace is lovely, with lots of greenery all around. The interior is also inviting. If you haven't tried it yet, you should give it a try! It's best to make a reservation in advance.

A warm summer day, lots of customers outside, and it was probably too much for the service. They were trying to clear half-full glasses and bottles, half-full plates. Okay, if the food at least made up for it, but it didn't. I've had Greek food like this, or mostly better, in other restaurants 15 years ago; everything seemed bland and a bit lacking in love. Lots of onions and tzatziki, not much rice, fries, and salad. If at least the price matched the service—no, I'll take my money somewhere else next time.

A very well-kept restaurant with friendly, attentive staff. The chef's passion for his craft is evident. I haven't found anything yet that wasn't delicious and lovingly decorated. Special requests are accommodated without much discussion. And the value for money is also good. In short, this is my regular Greek restaurant. 👍👍👍

Sorry but not recommended for an event!!!!! Service is really bad, not organized, billing is terrible, we don't know who drank what, and the worst thing is that the EC device works for normal operation, but for guests at the event it is suddenly broken, very questionable, never again, staff immediately becomes very unfriendly when you want to ask something!!!!!

The ambiance is rather atypical for a Greek restaurant. But the service is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, but I felt it lacked a certain "typical Greek" quality.

If you are looking for a good Greek restaurant in Kiel, you will definitely find it at Alsos! The large guest room is modernly furnished and looks cozy thanks to the indirect lighting. The typical Greek decoration such as columns provide the right flair without overdoing it or appearing kitschy. The menu offers all of the country’s typical specialties. We liked that there are portions for small appetites that are still large enough to easily fill you up. The service is nice and attentive. The only thing we noticed negatively was the table, which had a continuous leg that gave us the opportunity to stretch out our legs. We'll definitely be back!

There was a celebration at the next table & unfortunately the noise level was high in the back area where we were sitting. Toilets were okay, but needed to be checked more often for cleanliness. The toilet roll holder was lying on the floor in one toilet, and there was an empty toilet roll in front of the toilet in another. Eating went like this. Was ready after about 20 minutes. We had the feeling that the tzatziki was not made by ourselves, but bought. Staff but friendly and helpful.

So far we've always enjoyed our food very much, but last night it was somehow different. The tzatziki was, as always, to die for, but the meat was totally oversalted and the coleslaw definitely had too much acid. Too bad.

We got a place even though we didn't reserve. The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly. The ambience could still be improved, I think it would be very good if the terrace can be used in summer. From the parking lot to the restaurant it could use some light.

There were five of us, the first ones that evening, first of all no card payment possible.....the food we had liver three times....the top piece was very blue and the bottom two were very, very thin, very dry, not edible, fries not fully cooked, the small pile of rice tasted like watery tomato stock, the "salad"......,

First time there, very disappointing. Poor value for money, food rather average. The restaurant was busy, but also very noisy. The service was bad. Despite the indication of lactose intolerance, tzatziki was brought. Multiple additional orders were ignored. Salad plates were not cleared away. We waited 50 minutes for the food, after 10 minutes we were out of the restaurant. It's a shame, I can't recommend it.

Wir hatten nicht reserviert (ist aber unbedingt zu empfehlen), wurden sehr nett empfangen und haben einen schönen Tisch bekommen. Es gab zum Einen die Nr. 132 (Gyros und Schweinefilets mit Reis und extra servierter Metaxasauce), zum Anderen die Nr. 95 (Bifteki - hier auf Wunsch nur mit Reis) mit den bekannten Beilagen und jeweils einem kleinen Salat dazu. Das Essen kam heiß auf den Tisch und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Vorweg und hinterher gab es noch einen Ouzo vom Haus - finden wir überaus nett ! Von mir auch diesmal geschmeidige 5***** !

The food came to the table hot and we enjoyed it very much. First of all there was an ouzo from the house - we think it was very nice! Update December 2024: Our next visit was here to the Greek restaurant ALSSOS in Kiel in December. We hadn't made a reservation (but we definitely recommend it), we were warmly welcomed and given a nice table. There was number 132 (gyros and pork fillets with rice and extra Metaxa sauce), and number 95 (bifteki - here only with rice if desired) with the familiar side dishes and a small salad each. The food came to the table hot and we enjoyed it very much. Before and after there was an ouzo from the house - we think it was very nice! From me this time too, a smooth 5*****! Smooth 5***** from me today!

I didn't know something like this still existed: I just came back from a Christmas party. Some people were constantly forgotten by the waitress. My dish ultimately wasn't what I ordered and consisted of poor quality meat and many fries and fried potatoes were no longer available to order. The drinks were constantly forgotten. We then ordered dessert, but they said the kitchen was closed and a third of us didn't get dessert. I can't recommend the restaurant, especially since the atmosphere isn't particularly cozy.

For our taste: best Greek ever. Staff really friendly, good menu with a colorful selection of dishes. Only the parking lot should not be used with lowered vehicles... ;-)

We were looking for a restaurant near the hotel and came across Alsoss by chance. And I have to say: This was the best chance find in years. Great service, fast service, great ambience, cheerful group of guests and the most important thing: super tasty and rich food. It was 100% worth the extra few euros. And people also like to give tips. Sorry that I didn't drink the 2 ouzo anymore, but we'll make up for it on the next visit ;-)

Very tasty food and super nice service. Modern atmosphere and very well attended. Reservation of a table is recommended. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of the food. But the 62 gyros with liver was excellent. Likewise the 63 gyros with souvlaki. Friends had other dishes, I forgot the number. We all enjoyed it really well. Finally there was Loukoumades... perfect.

Nice staff were there with several people. Unfortunately the food, especially the gyros, was cold. Guess you forgot to keep it warm. Unfortunately, I found out too late from the others.

Very important to us: the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Just everything earthy, wheelchair can be parked on the covered terrace or taken inside, there is a lot of space there. Toilets accessible without stairs. We'd love to come back! 😍

The service was nice and the food was also good

Great restaurant. We were already quite late. But the staff was super friendly and despite the fact that the kitchen would close in 45 minutes, we were welcomed very warmly. The food was really good. The only thing you could comment on and that's complaining at a high level: a little soundproofing would be nice. You can hear, it feels like, every voice from every table. So thank you again and we have already chosen the food for next time 😉

Unfortunately, everything here is average. Not bad but not particularly good either. It's all a bit loveless. More like a canteen. The prices for the food are okay. I think the drinks are too expensive.

The food was very good. The rooms are nicely furnished, but the acoustics are very bad. The service was as bad as I have ever experienced. We had to ask several times to order drinks. When we wanted to pay at the end, we actually had to stand in a line at the cash register and wait until the amounts were entered and then we were allowed to pay the waitress. In a snack bar you have more service.

I had No.65: Gyros, Suflaki, Suzuki and Liver. Gyro was well seasoned, crispy and juicy. Suzuki was very flavorful. Suflaki perfectly fried and juicy. Likewise the liver. The side salad was absolutely fresh and the fries were also delicious. Conclusion: I haven't eaten better in any Greek restaurant in Kiel and the surrounding area than in Alssos.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. The service is terrible and the cutlery was simply thrown on the table when we were already sitting at the table. Unfortunately, the pepperoni in garlic sauce were the standard pepperoni from a jar and were very fatty. My meal consisted of number 64 gyros, souvlaki and suzuki, unfortunately there were only fries. You weren't even asked if you wanted fries or rice. When I asked, I was given rice, but the rice that came had to be returned because it was cold. They then brought me new rice that was floating in water and tomato sauce. Unfortunately, the gyro was also lukewarm and very gristly. The rest of the meat wasn't recommended either; when asked about a Metaxa sauce, I'm still waiting for it to this day. The waitress then took the view that I didn't order any sauce and that we would lie that the food was bad. They had already given out more than 100 meals today and there were no complaints. After a long discussion, they credited me with my meal and I didn't have to pay for it. In any case, every star you give to this restaurant is absolutely not recommended. You don't have to wait long for diarrhea to come.

I was there yesterday with two friends. The order was taken and the food came quickly. Friendly service...the food was tasty and plentiful.

We asked for a salad with just olive oil and vinegar and they brought us one which tasted like cooking olive oil, not extra virgin. The salad's they brought us looked like they had just thrown 5 ingredients together and then poured dressing over it, like it was from a cafeteria. The beans in tomato sauce tasted like store bought pasta sauce, the beans were great, they can't make a nice sauce for this? Where is the pride in your food? The meat was quite good but apart from that the food was below average. I guess they have stopped caring because customers seem to come so why should they. It has been a low standard for food overall in Kiel as someone from England.

The warm evening turned into a very long evening, not because it was particularly nice, it took forever until we could order drinks, the food came after just under 2 hours and the quality was mediocre. .....so the owners won't see us there again, a real flop

We were always happy to go there, it was always really nice. But not the last few times. After 1.5 hours there was still no food, the food was finally there but it was cold and burnt. That's really a pity.

He estado allí muchas veces y hasta ahora siempre comida y servicio a un alto nivel! Hoy esperamos más de 1 h 20 minutos para el plato principal, luego llegó la comida y fue tibio, muy decepcionante y sin concesión del operador de ninguna manera! Qué lástima que nos pareció muy desafortunado, incluso mi suegra, que solo tenía hambre y comía su comida fría, fue facturada completamente. Es una lástima pero ahora estamos considerando un nuevo griego 😔

There were four of us there for dinner and unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for our food after ordering. Even though the service was always very friendly, there was no apology for the waiting time. And even though the restaurant wasn't even full, the tables were only occupied in the outside area. The food was good as usual.

It's a very nice, stylish restaurant with a slightly different menu, not so overloaded with tons of dishes like some other Greeks. Personally, I like the portions that don't immediately make you think "how am I supposed to do all of this?" I absolutely cannot understand the criticism from unmotivated staff! For me THE GREEK in Kiel!!! The only point of criticism would be the acoustics, but that will probably be remedied soon.

Very friendly service, appealing atmosphere and definitely great with the beer garden in summer. What I didn't like was that I paid €18.50 for 2 souvlaki with a bit of rice. I didn't get tired of it. In terms of taste it was a straight A, great, but far too little on the plate for the price. Maybe you should add both side dishes at no extra charge. That was a bit disappointing.

I have been to this Greek restaurant many times over the years. After my last visit, I unfortunately have to say that the prices have gone up a notch here. Furthermore, the quality has decreased. The gyro was very dry and heavily seasoned. You can also just choose between fries or rice. The drink prices are also pretty high. All in all too expensive for the quality.
