Restaurant Ocean's (Ole Fischschuppen) in Scharbeutz

Ambience OK except for a few mismatched accessories. appetizer Bread with aioli - good Crab soup- good Burger not well fried, fries too salty. Black bread with smoked salmon and fried egg, side salad, the salt barrel is the master here too. We asked the waiter and explained the situation to him, he then said the second drink was on the house. We only had 1 second drink. To explain, we live here and regularly eat all kinds of fish and we can tolerate salt too. But that was a NO GO. We paid for everything because we didn't feel like the stress, how annoying. Too bad.

Very tasty food. Great service. The schnitzel is recommended. Great view and the pier right nearby. Especially good out of season because you can enjoy the peace and quiet.

The restaurant has a great location and you can look directly at the Baltic Sea. The food was delicious, but the portion of herring snacks was very small. The price-performance ratio doesn't really fit.

The incredibly friendly staff brought coloring books and pencils to the children as soon as we sat down. The attention to the children, the service, the cleanliness, the taste are superb, we recommend it to everyone. The price is also very affordable.

We went to this restaurant today and had a few hot drinks. The restaurant has a beautiful location and offers a view of the sea. The seavice was fine. However, we found this to be significantly excessive. A latte macchiato with oat drink - a small glass, mind you - costs (5.50 + 0.75 €=) 6.25 €. Too bad!

Mega great restaurant and very nice service... we were even served the fantastic scampi twice shortly after the kitchen closed... and our hunger was satisfied to our complete satisfaction... thank you very much for that... super tasty ... We girls will be back...

We spontaneously went to 'Ocean's' today. After visiting the new pier we weren't quite sure: coffee & cake or lunch. After looking at the menu, we decided on the latter: fish dishes interpreted a little differently, that was something for us. Our choice fell on a crayfish bruschetta with rocket salad, aioli, peppers, Red onions, parsley and garlic first, which we shared. The main course was pollack fillet in crispy herb breading with boiled potatoes (swapped for fried potatoes), remoulade, tomato and rocket salad and house dressing and crispy redfish fillet with colorful pan-fried vegetables, long grain/wild rice and white wine Gorgonzola sauce. We liked the food, it was tasty. But: The crayfish meat in the bruschetta was used very sparingly. And the tomato and arugula salad was almost exclusively very fresh, crunchy iceberg lettuce, a split cherry tomato and three pieces of pepper.

Not cheap and not a huge selection. But what is there is very good. Plus, I haven't had someone so attentive in a long time! Experienced service that doesn't lose its cool even when faced with many different payment requests. We had a very nice evening with you. Thank you for that!

Service and food are good, but completely overpriced. Example: Schnitzel with fried potatoes €26.50 for an average portion.

The Ocean`s restaurant is located directly on the pier in Haffkrug, with a wonderful outdoor terrace. The restaurant is well maintained, the food was delicious, the staff was friendly. All in all a nice, but more upscale restaurant.

The location is of course nice because it is directly on the beach... If there wasn't currently a construction site for the pier. But it will be gone soon. Definitely recommended as a restaurant. The prices are “Baltic Sea typical”...

Good morning, was here for a coffee to take a break from the strenuous visit to the beach. The food was delicious, and the wheat was cool. Unfortunately, the pier was under renovation at the time.

A perfect evening with very nice, attentive service, a perfect plaice and an entrecote that couldn't be better. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were very satisfied with the fish dishes, although expensive...

Very nice and large restaurant where you can sit inside or outside. The service is friendly and quick when making a reservation. I've eaten there twice and the food was very tasty. I had smoked salmon with fried eggs and brown bread.

Yesterday I was at the Ocean with my girlfriend and we had a few cocktails until then everything was good. We wanted to eat something afterwards. I invited my friend. She ordered entrecote with fries instead of fried potatoes. The steak was good but the visual aspect was very disappointing... they forgot all the salad... it seemed to me like they did that on purpose... the restaurant was very full but that was no excuse for me... We left a lot of money behind and therefore I find it a little condescending, as if we weren't taken seriously.

Nice ambience for the area and the beach. Service was ok but not outstanding. However, the food came quickly because it was also empty. The taste of the food wasn't as good as some of it was read. The cod was fried very fatty on the outside but the fat tasted old. The Dijon sauce that came with it was bitter and didn't go well at all. The fried potatoes, however, were delicious. I think if you want to eat delicious fish like I did, you would have to go somewhere else.

Very nice restaurant! We ate there twice during our short vacation! The “Spanish style shrimp” dish was particularly good! Highly Recommended! 🙂

We were served in a friendly manner by a gentleman. But a very young lady had no desire to work at all. She was either watching videos on her phone or complaining about phone reservations coming in. Then she said oh no, another order for this evening, I was hoping that everyone would cancel. What the fuck kind of work attitude is that? That ruins the whole ambience.

While looking for a nice restaurant, we came across Ocean's. And we absolutely wouldn't be disappointed. The service was great, the food was incredibly good and in a different combination. The cod and herring are highly recommended. Absolutely fair in price and appropriate for the location. We definitely won't be here for the last time.

I had a waffle with hot cherries and ice cream. It was wonderfully delicious. Even though part of the outside area is currently fenced off (towards the neighboring property), I had a nice time sitting outside. And the really outstandingly friendly (and never intrusive) service made my visit there perfect. How nice that places like this still exist!

The food is good but the price cannot be justified at all. €28.90 for lunch is too much! Other restaurants here have a much better price-performance ratio!

A beautiful restaurant located on the beach with great views of the Baltic Sea. The service is very friendly and quick. Hygiene regulations are well implemented, no long waiting times at the entrance. The food is delicious especially the breakfast. Unfortunately, the construction noise from the new pier is not nice. I'm excited to see what it'll be like when it's finished. The breakfast is still delicious and inexpensive. Had lunch. Plaice with fried potatoes. Plaice was good. A bit too much breading in proportion. Fried potatoes were ok. The service was really nice and the view was lovely.

All good, still has some room for improvement. We had fish and it was well prepared, but perhaps there should have been a little more fish on the plate. The fact that all the guests were placed in one room was not good, something should have been divided up. Service was good, but more attention should have been paid to the individual needs of the customers.

Very cozy restaurant located right on the beach. The food was really delicious. My wife had cod with fried potatoes and cucumber salad. Large portion and everything was perfect. I had plaice with warm potato salad and a small mixed salad. The potato salad was really great, but a little too little as a side dish. The plaice was very tasty, but naturally full of bones. Here I would have liked a proper fish knife and an extra plate for the bones. All in all, very good quality for a slightly high price.

It's always nice to be here when we visit Scharbeutz. The food tastes great (especially the fried fish baguette!), the atmosphere is nice, also protected from wind and rain with heat lamps. The service is always super friendly and has a beaming smile. Everything is just right here

Delicious food at reasonable prices

Sehr schön, nettes Personal, leckeres Essen, aber billiges Bier aus Duisburg (früher aus dem Sauerland) - und das ist leider sehr schade. Aber die leckeren lokalen Biere sind halt teurer und die Brauereien aus der Nähe zahlen halt weniger.

Food excellent. Really brilliant. Had prawns, cod and burgers. Staff very, very friendly, nice and accommodating. But now to the big drawback: drinks and primarily “beer”. Why do you have to transport cheap, not really good beer across Germany when there is also good beer in the north with Flensburger, Becks, Klüvert (around the corner and actually top) and others? Do you really always have to buy boring beer from bad breweries from Sauerland or Duisburg just because they pay the landlord more? That's really a pity. If I had a good beer (e.g. Klüvert) I would easily drink three or four more beers. That would then perhaps also be worthwhile for the host. Think about it, please.

Delicious but expensive food. The service staff forgot three (!!!) of our orders and when asked, the response was a bit sloppy. We wouldn't eat here again.

Were guests there today. Attentive service and a really very good Viennese schnitzel with fried potatoes for me as a self-confessed fish hater 😀 My wife was also very impressed with your fish dish, so it's also worth it for seafood lovers. The pilsner beer was also on point. All in all, it was a great experience for us and we would love to come back.

The avocado bowl is delicious, the staff is friendly and the decor is nice. Only the view at the moment is of a construction site instead of the Baltic Sea. And the prices are quite high.

Aufmerksame und nette Bedienung....nettes Ambiente....aber das Essen ist verbesserungsbedürftig.....habe den Oceans Beef Burger bestellt.....der war so trocken das er bald staubte.....trockenes Bun trotz Butter.....das Paddy war mit dem Messer kaum zu schneiden......und das ganze mit einem leckeren Zwickel vom Fass für 27,50 Euro!!@! Ich zahle gerne gutes Geld für gutes Essen.....aber das hier war mal so gar nichts! Das erste und das letzte mal da gewesen....never again !

If we are in the area this restaurant is a must! The service is great and attentive. The food tastes very good and the portions are more than enough! The price/performance ratio in this restaurant is absolutely right and I can only recommend everyone to see for themselves. If you don't do that, you're missing out.

Went there just to have a quick coffee between a walk. I think €5.90 for a latte is excessive. I live in Timmendorf or Niendorf myself and am actually used to high prices. For me, Haffkrug never counted as a more exquisite place. I didn't find the atmosphere particularly appealing when I came in - it seemed crowded and smelled a little bit smelly. Where we sat with a view of the water was better. I found the service to be just average. I think it's below average if you don't say goodbye when you leave, even though I said goodbye myself.

We come from Munich and ate incredibly good cod here. The creamed savoy cabbage is like a taste explosion in your mouth and the fried potatoes can't be made any better. The restaurant is tastefully and very comfortably furnished. The staff is attentive and very friendly. We have been to Haffkrug several times and a visit to Ocean's is now part of our regular program. We once again felt very comfortable with you.

Das Essen war okay, hübsch angerichtet. Der Fisch und die Saucen waren geschmacklich nicht's Besonders, schmeckten "fertig" & vor allem der Fisch nicht frisch paniert. Eher aufgewärmt. Das Ofengemüse war dafür sehr gut.

Tolles Ambiente, toller Service und wahnsinnig leckeres Essen. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Das Essen war sehr gut 👍 Ich habe vier 🌟 vergeben, weil die Scampis nach Art des Hauses zu teuer sind.

Sehr schöngelegendes Restaurant. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist überschaubar und regional. Die Ocean''s Kalb-Currywurst mit Bratkartoffeln war sehr lecker, die fruchtig-pikante Sauce war phänomenal und mit den eibgelegten Gurken und Zweibel ein Geniestreich! Auch die Garnelen "spanischer Art" richtig lecker. Das Ambiente an der Seebrücke ist unschlagbar schön. Dies ist für jeden eine Empfehlung hier einzukehren! Vielen Dank für das kleine Stück kulinarischen Ausflug.

Good food, good seafood. Good seafood in location at the waterfront. Please not that currently -2023- there is significant construction work going on in front of the restaurant. They are building a new pier and this disturb the surroundings. We had two great fish dished. Beautiful rose wine to accompany this.

Waffeln mit heißen Kirschen und Vanilleeis Wir reden nur noch davon diese waren so lecker. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich!!! Gerne wieder!!!

Wir sind immer wieder gern dort und fühlen uns sehr wohl. Der Service war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben was getrunken und haben auch nicht lange warten müssen. Am morgen kann man schön bei einem Kaffee sich die Sonne ins Gesicht scheinen lassen. Super Lage und immer wieder!

Kleine Karte, aber für jeden etwas dabei. Dessertangebot dürfte gerne erweitert werden. Essen war sehr lecker! Bedienung sehr nett.
