This was our second time vacationing in this hotel and this time we spent 4 nights at a hefty price of 1700 euros. Therefore, our impression is not based on one-off occurrences, but seems to be the rule in this hotel. The room was quite ok from the first impression. The view of the Baltic Sea is of course beautiful! But for the price we really expected more. We have experience with 4* hotels worldwide and expect certain standards for the money, especially in Germany. What we noticed negatively: -Dirty and broken children's chairs at breakfast. Anything but safe, especially for babies. We cleaned it first before use. The chairs should be cleaned by staff after each use. Works in other hotels too. -old or inferior mattresses. The beds are just lumpy. You were literally lying in a hollow. Back pain was inevitable. -the beds were not made for 2 days. In the morning we leave our room tidy and make the bed too. It is no longer necessary these days to put on new bed linen every day. However, it should be the case that the beds are at least freshly made. -When we moved in we had an empty pack of facial tissues. It was replaced the next day, but not stored in the container provided for the entire vacation. It's just a small thing, but it's still noticeable. The same with the glasses used. These were simply put there quickly instead of being put away properly. -on two days our closet just stood up. Nothing has been lost, but it makes a strange impression. Lots of little things that leave a negative impression of the top address in Scharbeutz. Too bad!

The location and view of the Bayside Hotel in Scharbeutz are really great – right on the beach with a beautiful view of the sea. The underground car park is also great: parking spaces are wide enough. Unfortunately, our overall stay was very disappointing. When checking into the room there were the first disappointments: there was a pair of used underpants in the bathrobe - a used elastic band in the other. The bags don't seem to be checked or the bathrobes aren't replaced? The room itself is already very worn out. But the size, the view and the minibar are positive. From 7:20 a.m. we were woken up by loud construction noise in the hotel - and there was also loud construction work going on outside next to the hotel without there being any prior notice of this when booking, although a hotel is obliged to do so. When asked, there were only excuses and no accommodation whatsoever. There was often unrest in the spa area because there was no supervision. Children played loudly, and in the evenings there were even drunk guests who jumped from the loungers into the pool even though the area is marked as a relaxation area. Unfortunately there was less peace and relaxation there. The drinking water in the sauna area was often empty. In the pool area there was always rubbish from the guests in the evenings, which unfortunately wasn't cleaned up. Breakfast was also chaotic: too few staff, constantly occupied or dirty tables, and you had to actively ask for things to be cleaned up and refilled. In addition, some of the staff were not recognizable as such because they walked around in normal street clothes. Staff often listless and hardly a friendly greeting in the morning. Unfortunately, refills are usually only done upon request. For the high price and the stated 4 stars, we would have expected much more. Unfortunately no recommendation. You can tell that this hotel is run solely from a business perspective - the attention to detail and the guests is missing.

Great hotel, with a great ambience. Both restaurants are excellent. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Magnificent view from the pool area directly over the Baltic Sea. However, I see room for improvement here and could do with more comfort. The old red tiles are not a hit. Staff 1A. Everyone very friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

After we have been going to Scharbeutz for a few days for many years and have often eaten at the Bayside's ROOF Restaurant, we have now stayed there overnight for the first time. The staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious and "okay" clean. In some corners you could see that no dust had been cleaned there; but that minimal. Personally, I think the mattresses are too old. Hard, saggy; my back thanks me - not. The location of the hotel is great! Right on the beach with a great view of the Baltic Sea. However, it is already a bit old and definitely a bit noisy. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has also deteriorated. Now I can “only” compare dinner with the times before; Unfortunately, the sushi wasn't freshly prepared, and this was particularly noticeable/tasted in the versions with fried foods. At breakfast there was a fairly generous selection; However, the rolls and the bread were a bit “older”. For example, the rolls were taken out of the cupboard under the roll baskets and refilled. Nothing fresh that came out of the kitchen. We didn't test the wellness area; but the gym. This is equipped with outdated devices that either no longer functioned or were missing accessories. All in all I'd say it was OK for a few days. Unfortunately, nothing more.

The sink and the shower were very calcified and not cleaned properly. There were also large spider webs in the corner above the bed. During our stay there was no room service in the room and the minibar was only refilled after we requested it over the phone. The mattress was very soft and already worn out. There was no kettle in our room. Unfortunately, the availability of a hot water bottle was denied. I'm already used to something different from a 4* superior hotel. The Jungle restaurant served a very dry fried salmon. The setting was a bit too loud to be considered comfortable. We reserved a table at the “Roof” the next evening. When we arrived, we stood around for a long time and had to ask the staff where we could sit since we had reserved. It took a very long time until we were served afterwards. My husband's menu was missing a page, so he only had all the dishes available since my menu had more dishes to choose from. All points of criticism have already been forwarded to Bayside by email, but there has been no response.

We had a room with a direct view of the Baltic Sea, but due to the architectural style there wasn't a ray of sunshine and we were happy that the wind was blowing hard and we didn't want to use the balcony anyway.....if you love the sun, you shouldn't book these rooms... Pool like in Mallorca with towels already occupied in the morning... Breakfast was great but the breakfast room was much too small... Noisy and not a nice atmosphere although the view was great...

The rooms are really nice and spacious. However, the top floor isn't necessarily recommended due to the seagull and pigeon alarm. Housekeeping neglects these signs. The same goes for the glass surfaces of the shower, where there were heavy traces of limescale in our room. The swimming pool, however, is very nice, and the view is magnificent. The same goes for breakfast in the restaurant on the 5th floor. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, even if the walks are sometimes quite long. The staff at breakfast and in the bars are always very friendly and attentive, and everything at the reception is perfect, too. Even though the hotel is expensive and has some minor flaws, I would book it again. Location, location, location...

After a stay in 2024, we decided to have a short vacation at Bayside again in 2025. Room category booked as for the first stay and looking forward to the trip. The reception was very friendly, the room was ready earlier than expected, great. At first we just noted that breakfast was served on the roof because it was great last year. The breakfast in the roof and the range of food and drinks are still great, but the roof is too small and too narrow, despite the expanded winter garden. There's a bit of a canteen feeling and it's also loud. The employees hardly have the chance to clean up or re-set the roof, or they simply don't see it anymore... The special Bayside experience "breakfast with a view of the Baltic Sea" no longer exists. Very, very unfortunate. It remains to be seen whether we will come back. There are also other good hotels nearby.

I always wanted to sleep at Bayside, I had known about the roof terrace for years and I always really liked it. In summer it's a great place to escape the crowds on the beach. I was given two nights in the hotel for free in December. The claim of the stars is absolutely not justified. The breakfast is mediocre. The hairdryer in the room was broken. We received a replacement hairdryer after a while, so we went to dinner with wet hair. The replacement hairdryer was taken away from us after 2 hours with the information that other customers would now also need it. What kind of hotel is this? A hairdryer costs €15 when it comes on. It is not possible to have several spare hairdryers in the house. Already very poor. The next day we wanted to spend another 2 hours in the sauna area, which wasn't full in the morning. In other hotels it is possible to go into the area after checking out, here we had to pay a not inconsiderable sum, and too many people had booked late checkout and so we could no longer use the area. We were not told this upon arrival. We think it's a money grab. The area was empty. We will stay in other hotels on the Baltic Sea again.

Beautiful location, but the hotel is so dated. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer good here. I requested the reservation by email about a year ago and, after several back-and-forth emails, always in a very short and concise manner, finally booked. The rates were non-cancellable and had to be paid in full in advance. I naturally complied with this and also double-checked with the reservations department to make sure everything had arrived correctly. This was confirmed to me by email. Shortly before arrival, I subsequently requested early check-in and a parking space for two nights for both rooms by email. This was also confirmed, and when I asked whether I should pay for the additional services directly upon arrival or transfer them in advance, I was told that I could do so on site. The check-in was extremely friendly, and the employee explained everything to us in detail. I asked her again about the payment for the additional services that were still outstanding. She told me that if we wanted to use any additional services, it would be sufficient if I paid at check-out and that we should first enjoy our stay. When we got to the room, we discovered a few defects. The curtain was partially out of its rail, and the bed cover was already very scratched and damaged. The glass shower screen was unfortunately very chalky, and there were various limescale stains around the shower faucets and sink, as well as on the coffee machine. The remote control was sticky and dusty, and in my opinion, these are all items that need to be checked and maintained regularly. However, I don't see this as the sole responsibility of housekeeping; rather, it should also be the responsibility of the building services, and above all, it should be a concern of the management. As already mentioned, the price-performance ratio is not right. The breakfast was generous and there was something for everyone, and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The evening at the hotel bar was also nice. Then, at check-out, the big surprise! I was suddenly asked to pay for an additional night's stay and various additional costs. The receptionist was very unfriendly and not exactly discreet. He printed out the information invoice for me and seemed somewhat snooty as he showed me the individual items. When I told him that I had already paid for all the overnight stays and that the garage had been booked twice, and showed him this proof on my phone, he brushed me off in a rude and loud voice, saying that he would have to clarify this with accounting and left me standing at the reception with other guests. I was extremely uncomfortable, and I think one should always expect some degree of discretion; after all, we're not talking about €3.50 here. After waiting for five minutes, he came back and proudly informed me that the error had been found and now only the remaining balance for the subsequently booked services remained. I then paid that, and then I heard a quiet apology.

The way your staff dealt with our complaint about the ongoing construction noise was particularly disappointing. Both our emails and our direct complaints to reception were ignored. Instead of offering a solution or at least an apology, we were simply brushed off. Such a lack of customer service is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. We were looking forward to a relaxing stay, but instead we were frustrated by noise and ignorance. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel and hope that you will place more value on the satisfaction of your guests in the future.

The hotel has a cleanliness problem, two small animals (e.g. silverfish) were running in the bathroom. Fan in the bathroom full of dust. Toilet brush totally dirty. The loungers in the spa area are cleaned. The roof bar used for the breakfast room is much too narrow, breakfast is slimmed down, dogs are allowed in the breakfast room, which is much too small. The staff apart from Angelo has no idea about service, leftovers are simply swept onto the floor, etc. Vacation is no fun, but you have to change something as quickly as possible before the network is overflowing with negative reviews.

We used to go to this hotel all the time. Everything has been very good all these years. But this time we were shocked. We went on vacation for two days and arrived at the hotel in the evening. Room 314 paid for by 1:00 p.m. At 9 a.m. the cleaning lady came to our room... Even though we had paid by 1 p.m. We relaxed and she just came into our room without knocking, even though it was written: “Do not disturb!” We then paid another 270 euros and decided to stay one more night. We were moved to another room, 201. We undressed and were laying down to rest when at 3:00 p.m. a man knocked and entered our room. Then at 4pm repair work started behind the wall of our room and it was very loud. I can't relax like this... It's very stressful. It shouldn't be like that!

I recently stayed at the Bayside Hotel in Scharbeutz and had a treatment in the spa area. I received a very friendly welcome from the lady at reception – it's rare to experience such a warm welcome! The massage was simply fantastic! The therapist was really good and took his time. I felt completely relaxed afterward. The food at the hotel was also really delicious! There was a great selection, and everything tasted amazing. Overall, it was a really lovely stay. I highly recommend the hotel, the spa area, and the food. I'll definitely be back!

Started strong and slowed down a lot. Unfortunately, Bayside is no longer what it was 10 years ago. With an overnight price of over 300 euros in March, I don't expect the following (especially in a suite!): totally calcified bathroom, leftover toothpaste from the previous person, stained blankets, splattered edges of the bed, cheap juice substitute at breakfast, as it is also much too narrow, hair in the swimming pool, defective showers in the wellness area, not a cleaning staff speaks German, late check out for 2 hours another 25 euros... The situation can no longer save these many deficiencies...

Sehr gute Lage direkt am Strand, netter Empfang an der Rezeption, Zimmer im 2. Stock mit dem Blick auf die Fussgängerzone und kleinem Balkon, sehr moderne Zimmer, sehr gut. Sehr sauber, gutes Bett. Seminarräume gut ausgestattet, es war nur kaum Personal da, um die Technik für unseren Workshop einzustellen. Und jetzt Klartext zum Restaurant: Das Frühstück war sehr gut, tolle Auswahl, Kaffeeservice schlecht wegen schlecht ausgebildeten und zu wenig Personal. Der Kaffee aus der Maschine schmeckte schlecht und wässrig. Ich erwarte mehr für diese Zimmerpreise. Lunch und Dinner: das Sushi am ersten Abend war qualitativ ok, Note 2-. Aber : auf einer Sushiplatte mit ca. 50 Teilen gab es nur 3-4 verschiedene Sorten, null Abwechslung und davon nur ca. 5 Teile Nigiri . Super langweilig. Am nächsten Mittag gab es Lachs, auf der Haut gebraten mit Kartoffelstampf und Grillgemüse. Das kann jemand kochen und braten, der 2 Stunden angelernt wurde. Geschmacklich ok aber null Rafinesse, Lachs sehr fettig. Am nächsten Abend Steak, Qualität ok, aber es wurde noch nicht mal gefragt, welche Garstufe gewünscht wird. Alles kam unterschiedlich gegart, von Medium bis well. Die Suppen vorweg ( Tomatensuppe und Broccolicremesuppe) waren ohne Kick, einfach wie aus der Fertigtüte und null Komma nicht verfeinert , geschweige denn gewürzt. Mega langweilig, katastrophal . Nachtisch war ebenso miserabel, Sahne im Glas mit 4-5 Beeren drauf. Der Koch sollte sich schämen. Kellner Service war praktisch nicht vorhanden, massiv unterbesetzt und ohne Restaurantleitung, ein absoluter Hühnerhaufen. Das Essen kam trotz Anmeldung und festem Termin erst nach ca. 1 Stunde. Nicht zu glauben. Weinauswahl gab es nicht, Weißwein oder Rotwein , Rebsorten kannten die Kellner nicht. Meines Erachtens nach alles Aushilfen, praktisch ohne deutsch-Kenntnisse. Jeder Currywurst- Imbiss hat besseres Personal. Die Bar war gut bestückt, die Cocktails lecker und gut gemacht. Leider kannte die Bedienung die eigene Karte mit und war komplett überfordert, weil eine Bedienung auf gefühlt 30 Kunden kam. Preis/ Leistung: Zimmer gut, Strand und Lage toll, aber die Probleme mit dem Personal sind schlimm und massiv in Anbetracht der teuren Preise. Ich würde trotzdem wieder hinfahren in der Hoffnung, dass Essen und Service besser werden im Sommer, wenn das Stammpersonal aus dem Winterurlaub zurück ist… hoffentlich.

Wir hatten uns für das Wochenende im Bayside eingemietet. Am ersten Abend waren wir direkt im Restaurant. Wir hatten sechs Wochen im Voraus ein Tisch am Fenster reserviert. Leider wurde uns vor Ort gesagt, dass es organisatorisch nicht möglich war. OK??? . Erster Abend - nicht Ärgern. Über das Ambiente und die Lautstärke kann man sich streiten. Aber das Kabel aus den Wänden schauten war schon befremdlich. Immerhin waren Klemmen dran. Nachdem die Getränke kamen, was auch etwas länger dauerte, wurde neben uns ein Tisch am Fenster frei. Wir fragten den nächsten Kellner ob wir uns umsetzen könnten worauf die Antwort kam: Der Tisch ist bereits reserviert. Aha??? Zehn Minuten später, es hatte sich an dem freien Tisch nichts getan, wurde ein zweiter Tisch am Fenster frei. Also wieder nachgefragt und wir "durften" uns umsetzen. Unsere Tischnachbarn, sichtlich angefressen, fragten daraufhin nach dem zweiten freien Tisch und, oh Wunder, doch nicht mehr reserviert. Aha??? Das Essen hat sich ein wenig mehr Zeit gelassen, war aber im ganzen ganz gut. Der Lachs meiner Frau war nicht trocken und mein Steak war Medium. Preislich hätten aber die Beilagen inklusive bzw. die Qualität deutlich besser sein müssen. Definitiv negativ, ein nicht einheitliches Auftreten des Personals, es wurde nicht einmal nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung sei oder ob man noch etwas trinken oder essen möchte und gefühlt war keiner für einen zuständig. Für ein Restaurant welches sich auf der Website so hoch lobt eine ganz schwache Leistung. Da stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht! Das es auch ganz anders geht haben wir dann einen Abend später gegenüber im Herzbergs erlebt.

We have been to Bayside for the umpteenth time and are unfortunately very disappointed with the developments. It is more than obvious that some cost-cutting measures have been taken that have significantly reduced the standard of the hotel. More and more expensive luxury suites are being built for this purpose... the main thing is! There is nothing wrong with the work of the permanent staff, everyone is very friendly, service-oriented and can only really feel sorry for you. But the unskilled staff urgently need to be better trained. In conversations with several regulars, it emerged that there was general dissatisfaction. An email with constructive criticism has remained unheeded by management to this day, which is what annoys us the most! We travel a lot in the Bay of Lübeck and regularly visit hotels in Scharbeutz, Timmendorfer Strand etc. While other hotels are developing very positively, we are simply disappointed with Bayside!

We only used the pool and sauna as day guests. Nice area including water dispenser with lemon in the sauna and bathrobe. Shower gel in all showers. Very nice staff. Price/performance okay. Only the cupboards in the changing rooms need to be improved. The doors are locked with a code and unfortunately they often don't open. But the staff was very friendly and helped with the general code. We'd love to come back.

Very nicely located hotel with great service. What is not possible, however, is that in a suite you only have one bedside table and there are threads of dust hanging from the ceiling. Furthermore, lamps are defective and can only be switched off by pulling the plug. Another downer is the jungle restaurant. Visually it was great but the food!!! Better snack food and that for 130 € for 2 people, that's an announcement and an impudence.

New Year's Eve celebration: Disappointing, overpriced - and no reaction from you We have been celebrating New Year's Eve in various hotels for years, but we have never experienced such a disappointing experience - and above all such ignorance. Despite multiple emails, a personal conversation and a phone call, we have not received any response from you to date. This is not only disappointing, but also unprofessional. Our group of 15 people were looking forward to a festive evening. Instead, what awaited us was a loveless atmosphere, a completely overcrowded buffet and an overwhelmed bar. For many people, the main course was completely canceled because the buffet was cleared away far too early. A midnight snack or a glass of champagne to toast? None. For €159 per person this was simply not acceptable. The fact that you have not responded to our repeated attempts to clarify this directly with you only increases the disappointment. We expect a statement and an appropriate reaction.

Disappointing experience – not recommended Unfortunately we were not at all satisfied with our stay at this hotel. The so-called gourmet breakfast was a complete disappointment: the roof-top bar was completely overcrowded, the atmosphere was uncomfortable and it felt like mass processing. The selection left a lot to be desired, and many dishes were already empty by 8:30 a.m. - without being refilled. The spa area itself is beautifully designed, but far too loud. Despite signs warning people to keep quiet, many guests ignored this - relaxation was only possible with noise-cancelling headphones. The room seemed attractive at first glance, but upon closer inspection there were numerous defects: a leaky balcony door, an unkempt bathroom with heavy limescale deposits and overall a poor condition. The inadequate sound insulation was particularly disturbing - conversations from the neighboring room could be clearly heard through the ventilation, although the ventilation itself was not a problem. Restful sleep? None! However, the friendly reception, which was always helpful, should be highlighted positively. Overall, we unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel. The price-performance ratio is in no way justified. Definitely not a repeat!

We were there from January 29th. in the hotel until February 1st, 2025 and had a sweet. The room was clean, but the sofa that had been pulled out collapsed last night because it had already seen its best days. The wellness area is spacious with a great view and warm water in the pool. Everything is great BREAKFAST DISASTER!!!!!! Unfortunately, the Coast no longer existed - now there is breakfast on the roof, which turned out to be chaos for everyone. Unfortunately there were far too few seats available for the guests. The staff tried very hard but couldn't cope with the rush at all, even in the off-season. We had to sit in the dark bar room and others sat with their children on bar stools at the counter right in front of the alcoholic drinks. Since large tables were still reserved in the winter garden, the guests stood at a loss in the aisles. An absolute no go for the price range. The buffet in the narrow adjoining room was loveless and there was a queue at the coffee machine. If nothing changes, this will be our last stay.

The hotel has an unbeatable location. The underground car park is spacious enough for a “bulky” car. Non-alcoholic drinks from the minibar are included in the price. Beds comfortable. The view from the higher floors is fantastic. But overall the hotel is not very comfortable and rather Nordic cool. Everything fits more into a conference hotel than a holiday hotel. You won't find luxury here. Unfortunately the pool area wasn't very clean either. In addition, many loungers are broken. There is a lack of staff in the spa to check that everything is going well.

High discrepancy between expectations and reality. We wanted a relaxing weekend at Bayside and got a great deal. As a self-chosen center for wellness and “luxury” in Scharbeutz, we hoped for much more from Bayside. The location is great. The room was large, well laid out and had a very nice view of the Baltic Sea. In addition, the roof top bar was well organized and comfortable for having a drink in the evening. But that was it. We were woken up both Friday and Saturday by the noise of drills and banging. Unfortunately, this was not communicated beforehand or taken into account in the price. When we asked at reception (Friday) we were assured that this would not happen on Saturday. Was a lie. But we didn't really feel understood either. No accommodation, no insight, just an “oops”. Service at breakfast was also subpar. Totally full. Dirty tables. No communication from the staff about where something was available, or whether you needed anything, or a little explanation of how it worked. There was always something missing. One day there were no more rolls (grains) from 10:15. You can clearly see that the hotel has been around for a few years. Cables are sticking out of the wall in the breakfast table and a pane of glass is no longer neatly in place. The room doors feel like they are made of cardboard, you can really hear every step that is taken in the hallway. Everything is a bit rocky. All in all, there are much nicer addresses in the area for the money. They probably make more class instead of quantity. We won't be back any time soon...

The last time we were at Bayside was in 2016. Since we were very enthusiastic back then, we booked a short vacation at Bayside for this weekend. Unfortunately the cleanliness in the room left a lot to be desired...it was definitely not 4 stars. Unfortunately, the Coast was no longer available - breakfast is now served in the roof - which turned out to be catastrophic for us. Pure chaos... not enough seats for the many guests. The staff tried very hard but couldn't cope with the rush at all. and that in the off season. That's exactly how it was in the spa - completely overcrowded - no place to relax. We found the jungle very beautiful - it is definitely worth a visit. It's a shame that it turned out this way Such a great location and really worth the 4 stars in service and rooms back then - unfortunately not anymore today. We hope you return to your old quality.

Mixed feelings – unfortunately not what we expected As a family we booked the Sky Suite with sea view/city view. The room was really beautiful, designed to make you feel comfortable, and we were thrilled by the view. Unfortunately, the overall stay was mixed. The Jungle Restaurant was a real highlight: great food, beautiful ambience and an excellently attentive and friendly staff - big praise for that! Unfortunately, the night was an absolute disaster. In the next room there were hours of loud arguments with violent insults that even our children heard. They were so scared that they came to our bedroom and I had to move to the couch to give them some rest. I had to endure the noise half the night. In the morning I wanted to clarify the problem with the hotel staff, as I believe that at least a partial refund would be appropriate for such a price. Unfortunately my request was dismissed with the information that it was even worse on other floors. To date I have not received an apology or any response, which I find very disappointing. I only give the three stars for the beautiful room, the view and the jungle restaurant, which was really impressive. But because of the bad night and the inadequate customer service, we unfortunately cannot recommend the hotel.

We were back again after a break of a few years. Honestly, it was disappointing! The rooms and general location are still great, but the service is a bit of a flop. The wellness area offers decidedly too few opportunities for relaxation indoors around the saunas, which are great in themselves. Just under 20 loungers are not enough, especially since they were almost completely reserved in the German way... Breakfast, upstairs on the roof, was also better. The service staff, especially one gentleman, were curt, monosyllabic, overall rather unfriendly and obviously overwhelmed! There was an argument among each other, I don't need it as a guest! Well, we'll probably try it again at some point, but for now we're cured... What a shame!

Here is a suggestion for your Google review of the Bayside Hotel: Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Bayside Hotel. The location is excellent - perfect for exploring the surrounding area and enjoying the proximity to the sea. The hotel offers numerous amenities that make your stay truly comfortable. The only point of criticism: On the day of departure we were disturbed twice by room service, even though there was still enough time until check-out. It was clearly noticeable that the cleaning staff wanted to finish work early, which we could understand - but this still somewhat spoiled the farewell. We ended up leaving an hour earlier because we felt sorry for the employees who were waiting outside our door to start cleaning immediately. All in all it was a good stay, even though the hotel is priced higher. However, given the excellent location, the price is understandable. We would still recommend it and thank the team for the service!

Great hotel, great food, great service. I just find the fact that there are lots of small children loudly in the SPA area and that continues until the evening, which I find rather cheeky for the high price. An adventure pool that meets the needs of families can't be far away. Too bad!

Fantastically located right on the beach, very nicely furnished, beautiful rooms, wonderful sauna, fitness room equipment very effective. Breakfast until 11 a.m.: also a dream. The hotel's own restaurants and bars: considerably too expensive for our taste, but that's a matter of opinion. You have the opportunity to change things up and not have to eat in the hotel. Just look at the map beforehand...Otherwise the hotel can only be recommended!

Overall poor service at the breakfast buffet and in the roof. In advance, a trainee had already noticed something negative in the booking process. After cleaning the room something was always missing, sometimes the second water glass, sometimes the second shower towel. Positive at breakfast was a young trainee named Mina, friendly, attentive, helpful! With her the guest was king. The reception upon arrival was also nice and the room was ready early.

The hotel is chic and very clean. The spa area is very large and offers many options. The fitness room has everything you need for a short stay. The breakfast was also OK. However, there were enormous waiting times for scrambled eggs/omelettes because only one person prepared them. Unfortunately, the bar staff closed the bar before 9:00 p.m. on a Friday evening, even though the hotel flyer said 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. Very annoying if you want to end your last evening relaxing with a drink. Parking spaces in the underground car park are only available at an additional charge of €15 per day and must be reserved in advance. The same applies to massage etc. Unfortunately we have to say that we would have expected a little more from a hotel in this price range. Maybe. It was simply because we were here in the off-season.

Hello, we were there yesterday for food, a catastrophe, we waited for over 1.5... Service is inattentive, food was subpar 3 x beef fillet medium ordered but came almost raw and tough 1x Ribey almost through Plates were ice cold as a result of which the puree also came shortly before serving I was told that there was no green asparagus... the shop was busy. We have been visiting Bayside off and on for several years. We have booked the Christmas special in 2023 and 24. Unfortunately, I have to say that we were less and less satisfied every year and ultimately decided not to check in here again. First the best - the location! Right on the beach, in the immediate vicinity of restaurants and shops. It doesn't get any better. Unfortunately, that doesn't outweigh the increasingly poor service and other shortcomings of the hotel. Some of the rooms are quite shabby. For the last two years we have booked a suite. Not everything was fixed here either. Basically the room was good. The service is difficult and very variable. Housekeeping is incredibly loud. The noise level in the hallways is immense. The cleaning is sometimes noisy and people can't float - of course. But the current situation goes beyond the scope. In addition, a 'do not disturb' message is often overlooked. A no-go. Service at breakfast: simply bad, unfriendly to ignorant. A 'Good morning' or even a 'Merry Christmas' wasn't included. You had to ask several times for filter coffee. The content of the breakfast is quite simple. The selection is manageable, a little run of the mill. The refill is too slow. I was also unable to find any assistance with older or handicapped guests. How this will work on the roof from January is questionable. The distances will be significantly longer for guests. In addition, there are more levels here. The run for barrier-free places is likely to be tight. One can be surprised at the explanation of the managing director (owner?) about the closure of the Coast (up to now breakfast was served here, otherwise it was probably a rather moderately frequented restaurant after half-board was no longer available). Additional rooms with frontal sea views and a large suite will be built here in the next few months. Lt. Christmas speech from the CEO, we had a bad meal at Coast and then decided to close it. Well - the first choice if the food is bad would probably be a new chef. So you can confidently assume that you want to generate significantly more sales with the new rooms and ultimately make a profit from the existing space at some point. Which is completely OK (even if I highly doubt the new breakfast solution). So I could only smile at this explanation. Which leads me to the 'Christmas Address' itself. In 2023 we made the mistake of planning this 'event' in advance of St. John's dinner. Listen to it in its entirety this evening. A mistake! The man confuses paying customers with his employees and gives a thematic speech lasting over 30 minutes (on Christmas Eve), which is actually a company-related speech. Christmas party or a company meeting. Not nice! In 2024 we went to dinner later, but unfortunately the man overdid it and we had to listen to his explanations for about 5 more minutes. Which brings me to the Christmas Eve meal, which was OK but far from good. Unfortunately, the deer died several times. A venison roast from Bain Marie is essentially a mistake on the product. Something like this belongs at one station - preferably fried pink - freshly sliced. Then the meat is not so dry and tough that it is difficult to cut. The goose leg was also 'over', the side dishes were OK. I've eaten better in well-run canteens. Opinions can be divided about the jungle. In terms of age, I no longer belong to the target group of this concept. But I saw it better over 20 years ago in the USA (Rainforest Cafe). Be that as it may - at least the food here has become significantly better. Unfortunately, 2 out of 3 dishes were too cold. The roof is still good. Here too, the side dishes were already too cold. Finally, at over €3,000 for a suite and a single room for 4 nights, I expect more. By the way - birthday greetings for a guest traveling with us (data was available) would have been attentive, but that is generally lacking here.

Now it's not worth more than 2 stars... Cobwebs on every red pillar in the swimming pool. Cobwebs on the ceiling in the roof restaurant. In the roof itself you sit like in the train station, with a table for two and at least 4 other people at the neighboring tables hear every single word! In room category Zummer No. 452 there was so much dust piling up on the cosmetic mirror! But the main thing is that it's fully booked. Cleaning is superficial, there's no atmosphere to feel comfortable or feel welcome. Stay from 12/09/24-12/13/24, room 452 with dog! You had to get coffee for breakfast yourself from the service station, not once was coffee brought to the table all week. HAPPY 🎁🎄 🤦🏻

After checking in, we unfortunately found a poorly cleaned bathroom. The staff at the reception tried very hard, the breaking point seems to be the external cleaning company. We stayed with the family for a weekend in this beautiful hotel. The room view when booking with a frontal sea view - simply fantastic, never been so close to the Baltic Sea. Great, modern rooms with lots of space, especially the suite, just fantastically beautiful. The breakfast was also really great, the only negative point being that unfortunately there was no free sparkling wine. We know things differently from such upscale hotels, which is a shame. The entire team, whether reception or breakfast staff, was very friendly and accommodating! We would love to come back!

Just a shadow of his former self! This was our fifth time at Bayside and definitely the last time. Price-performance ratio unacceptable. Reception cold and drafty. The hygiene of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. (the Q-tip used was left in the middle of the hallway for 24 hours) The hotel pool had a maximum of 22 degrees. Despite complaints, nothing happened. The roof restaurant is also catastrophic. The bar is extremely uncomfortable, expensive and drafty. We were looking forward to the sushi and were disappointed here too. It felt like the sushi was made throughout the day. Surf & Turf and Teryaki roll very dry. As compensation there was at least an espresso and a dessert plate on the house. The staff was friendly. Not a nice restaurant atmosphere due to the very uncomfortable ceiling light. When you left you weren't even asked if you had a pleasant stay. All in all, you get the feeling that the only goal here is to make “quick” money. The guest is apparently no longer the focus. This can also be seen from the fact that there is no reaction from the hotel management to the previous reviews. Too bad...

As always, everything was great, the location was perfect, the rooms were very nice and spacious, the breakfast was very varied, there was something for everyone. What disappointed me a bit is that there wasn't even a nice napkin, candle or a small flower related to the birthday on the reserved breakfast table! But we'll definitely be back :-)

We used the day spa. The best thing about it is the view. The spa is nice, but definitely not worth 49 euros per person! Coffee in a plastic cup for 4.70. I'm happy to pay this price for good coffee in a cup. The hotel appears chic and modern, but if you take a second look it's tasteless. This plastic decoration everywhere - brr!

I have known this hotel since it opened and it is MY temporary HOME. I was back on site for a few days on November 3rd and I recovered very well. I was particularly happy about the pleasantly warm water in the pool, which is usually too cold for me in other hotels. Yes, some things have changed over time and I raised this and the response was immediately positive. I would like to mention that after my stay there I spent three more days in a 5 star hotel in Travemünde. I also know the hotel very well, but I haven't been there for a long time. The wellness area was a real 6! MOLD! I don't want to say any more about it at this point. At Bayside, my wishes are fulfilled to my complete satisfaction and I look forward to my next stay, to the incredibly beautiful location, the constant view of the sea from almost all areas of the hotel and to the extensive breakfast buffet.👌🏼🙃

Unfortunately, you only pay for the view and location. Service is written in small letters. Unfortunately, the untrained staff barely understands German, which makes communication very difficult. The rooms could definitely use a renovation. Lime stains on the walls, blind spots on the mirrors, ventilation COMPLETELY full of dust, very disgusting! Three nights were booked. One day the request for room cleaning was completely ignored, only the coffee machine was refilled. Room service cannot be reached or the employees do not know that they are the room service. Only after requesting a callback were we finally able to place our order. Bartenders greet guests with headphones on and at the pool the bar staff gawk at guests through a window. When checking out, the inadequate service was criticized, but the receptionist dismissed it with the words "that's a shame." You should definitely put the DeHoGa on the hotel, because this is not star standard... Positive: Very nice view from the sea view room and the food in the ROOF was very tasty.

The location is great, right on the beach (with private access). Easily accessible by public transport. Great restaurant on the fourth floor and very rich breakfast in the morning. Most of the rooms have a view of the Baltic Sea and the design is relaxed. I found the service and friendliness to be moderate. The technical equipment in the seminar rooms is no longer up to date (beamer only in 4:3), dirty chairs and tripping hazards in the floor. Unfortunately, no one was interested in my feedback.

We booked an overnight stay and were very satisfied. Our room had a partial sea view, was located inside, and we could listen to the sound of the waves at night. During the day we were in the wellness area. We had loungers right next to the large window front and that alone was great. We are sauna goers and of course we have seen much more beautiful sauna landscapes, but I can't quite understand the many negative comments. Have you ever looked at this unique view?! The breakfast, which you can enjoy with exactly this view, is great. Nothing is missing!

Perfect beach vacation at the Bayside Hotel – an unforgettable stay! We had the pleasure of spending a few days at the Bayside Hotel in Scharbeutz and it was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is located directly on the beach promenade and offers a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea. From the first moment we felt completely at home. 1st location: The location of the hotel is unbeatable! Right on the beach and yet right in the center of Scharbeutz - ideal for exploring both nature and the surrounding area. A few steps to the sea in the morning, a leisurely stroll along the promenade in the evening - it couldn't be better! 2nd room: Our room was modern and stylishly furnished, with attention to detail. We were particularly impressed by the sea view from the balcony, which was impressive every morning. The beds were very comfortable and the amenities left nothing to be desired. 3. Wellness area: The spa area is a real highlight! We were able to relax wonderfully, whether in the sauna, in the pool or with a soothing massage. The roof terrace with the infinity pool and the magnificent view of the Baltic Sea is an absolute must and made our stay perfect. 4. Gastronomy: The breakfast buffet was sensational - from fresh fruit to hearty dishes to regional delicacies, everything was there. We were also impressed by the restaurant right in the hotel. The fish dishes were particularly excellent and rounded off the day perfectly. 5. Service: The service at the Bayside Hotel was first class. The entire team was extremely friendly, attentive and always tried to fulfill our every wish. You can feel that people work here with heart and passion. Conclusion: The Bayside Hotel is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday on the Baltic Sea. Everything is just right here: the location, the facilities, the food and, above all, the atmosphere. The location is unique, no question about it. We were there to take a sauna and unfortunately it didn't pick us up. The changing room was small but ok, the showers in the changing room were way too hard, the water jet was way too hard, the shower products were good. The small swimming pool is ok... BUT you just expect more from such a large hotel in such a beautiful location. The relaxation rooms were all too cold and had no cozy atmosphere and no music. The salt sauna was good, The infusion in the 60° sauna didn't smell like it was described on the sauna door and the steam bath sauna just stank. Maybe someone will take care of these points.

Overpriced for the performance. The hotel is getting old and seems soulless. Furniture has quirks, wellness area is clean and nice, but run carelessly for the price. There are nicer 4-star hotels - I advise against staying at this price.

We stayed in the Skysuite at Bayside in 2020. We felt very comfortable back then and everything went well. This year we booked the Bayside for several nights. We were more than disappointed! Starting with housekeeping. They just stood in the room in the afternoon, even though we refused entry. At 8 a.m. housekeeping knocked and the room was entered straight away. Despite the warning! The towels were changed as needed, or there weren't any. Then in the evening we had a receipt in the room that we had helped ourselves to the minibar, which was not the case. This could be clarified with a friendly note at reception that it does happen. On Saturdays for breakfast there was already a shortage of bread rolls at 10 a.m. (breakfast is until 11 a.m.). On Sundays there were no rolls at 10 a.m. These still had to be procured, so all guests had to wait over half an hour for them. We pointed out the above-mentioned circumstances several times at reception. Every time we were put off that there was no one there who could make decisions. But the lady at the reception shot the bird: She told us again that no one from the management was there. Which was a blatant lie!!! The gentleman standing behind her was Mr. Till Haltermann (managing director). However, we didn't know this at the time. We only found this out later via XING. We also wrote a letter by registered mail to Mr. Haltermann personally. We have not received a response to this for 4 weeks. Conclusion: we left 1 day earlier than booked. Of course we did NOT get it refunded. I would only recommend the hotel based on the location, but the service is lacking and as a customer you are cheekily lied to and customer complaints are simply ignored.

We spent two nights in the Super Junior Grand Deluxe Sea View Room at Hotel Baysite and unfortunately our stay wasn't quite what we had hoped due to the high price and early booking. Although the room offered a sea view, it also had a fairly dominant view of a large green roof area, which somewhat spoiled the overall picture. When we politely asked reception whether it would be possible to change rooms to a higher room further up the front, we were turned away with great incomprehension. The answer from the lady at reception was that the hotel was fully booked and that no guarantee could be given for another room even if we booked again. It would have been nice if we had at least been accommodated a little here - perhaps a small concession like a free drink at the bar or a nice gesture to defuse the situation. Instead, we were told that this was simply not possible and had to live with the situation. Of course, we understand that room changes are not always possible when the hotel is fully booked, but the tone and the way you speak to the guests makes the difference. Such small gestures would have been greatly appreciated. Apart from that the hotel is nice, the breakfast was really excellent, but unfortunately the service in this particular case left something to be desired.

Doesn't meet the demands. We actually wanted to stay for 2 nights at the beginning of October and let ourselves be pampered by the promised luxury, but left after one night. What led to this: The wellness area is completely carelessly furnished: there are no cushions on most of the loungers in the relaxation room, other guests' glasses are not cleared away for hours, no candles, no relaxing music (all you can hear is the noise of the huge ventilation), the door to the relaxation room doesn't close properly, In the afternoon, building services staff work loudly right in front of the relaxation room... Room: At first glance it's quite chic, but when you look closely you notice the unkempt condition: rain shower completely calcified, joints dirty / moldy, shower cubicle dirty and calcified. Restaurant: Absolutely outrageous what is offered for the steep prices. Food doesn't taste good, service is subpar (2 starters and 2 main courses: 50% were served incorrectly!), no wine service at the table, served across the table... General condition: The whole house appears unkempt: dirty windows, cobwebs in the lamps. Inattentive service, construction noise at half past seven in the morning (building technology). Overall, a completely unacceptable idea. The location and the view alone are really nice, but that alone isn't enough to justify the prices quoted. Not recommended.

On the one hand, the room was not cleaned adequately beforehand, which we very much regret. On the other hand, your house keeping didn't put away an empty Coke bottle and a used cup of coffee for four days. There were also denture cleaner tablets and used tissues and other waste in the cupboards. The corridor to the room wasn't even vacuumed or mopped for all the days. Sand was on the ground the whole time. Then the bird's nests on the balcony and walls smeared with feces rounded off the comfort there. I would also like to mention the defective armrest of the lounger on the balcony and the unsuitable cushion for it. For €1530 for 3.5 days, the cleanliness and service are a real shame. Unfortunately there is no response from the operation manager either. It's a shame that guests who have repeatedly stayed in the hotel are scared away and would then prefer to move to other hotels next time.

Location very good. Rooms not clean, inventory very outdated. Dishes, entire restaurant area very dirty and unkempt. Construction work at the hotel right next to our window - constant construction noise!! A note about construction noise when booking would have been good. We won't be coming back and would advise against the hotel.

The entire hotel is very dusty, cobwebs hanging around. The trash can in our room was not emptied by the previous guests. If you have breakfast at 9 a.m., you have to wait for plates and bowls. The selection of the breakfast buffet was okay. The sauna area is nice, but the shower bracket fell off. The massages were good! There was no rest in the room because there was a crane in front of our window and there was construction noise from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

We stayed at Bayside for 5 nights. Unfortunately we were also disappointed. The room prices are completely overpriced for the “4-star” hotel. The cleanliness leaves more than to be desired, the rooms are already showing their age and are worn out. The rooms are actually cleaned every day, we didn't notice anything about it. The garbage was emptied every day, but that was it. The staff at the breakfast area wasn't welcoming either. For this price you expect a little more service and not stubbornness in doing your job. However, the buffet was sufficient and left nothing to be desired! However, the dishes and the places were not clean and you felt disgusted at times. Very unfortunate... The hotel makes a good impression at first glance, but if you take a closer look you notice a lot of things that are sloppy and have nothing to do with a 4-star standard. It's a real shame because the location of the hotel is great!

Long waiting times for beer (18 minutes) and later food (40 minutes) even though it is not that crowded. For the money it's a disgrace!! Burgers totally flabby and dry as well as the fried potatoes. The sauce tastes sour. In the burger just some lettuce and a small thick cucumber. They want €20 for that! The seating also looks dirty. Never eaten so bad and so expensive. When we brought it up there was no apology, we were just brushed off with the words "I'll pass it on", which they don't do anyway. 2 stars for friendliness and beach chair space.

The best pizza I've ever eaten! Unfortunately I had to drive 400 km for this. Normal Margherita pizza and tiramisu with it - fantastic. Thin floor, well covered. Looking forward to next year.
