Delicious food in a lovely setting. Reservations recommended. Friendly staff. Parking in front of the door.

We rented beach chairs in the Hamptons several times in the summer of 2025. The prices are outrageously high: more expensive than Sylt! The beach chairs are also dirty, moldy, and covered in cobwebs. The towels left black stains afterward. And the toilet in the restaurant building was broken the whole time. The next one is several hundred meters away. Even though the guests pay for it! Overall, much worse than Thimms (the previous owner). What a shame!

The Hamptons in Scharbeutz is a restaurant I'd happily recommend. The food is truly delicious and excellently prepared. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the visit particularly pleasant. Added to that is the beautiful view, which completes the entire experience. Whether for a special occasion or just for fun, a visit to the Hamptons is definitely worth it, and I enjoy coming back again and again.

Good evening, the decor isn't bad overall when you enter the restaurant, even nice. Unfortunately, the seats are stained, but it doesn't feel very inviting. The service was, let's say, okay. You expect something different in a place like this, especially more attentive service. Well, the food, I think it wasn't up to scratch. After we pointed it out, they only offered strange excuses. The conversation wasn't as pleasant as it should have been either. The wine was as expected. The most interesting thing was when we ordered dessert and two grappas. Suddenly, in a place like this, grappa is only served in 2-cl glasses! A normal portion is 2 cl. That means 2 cl of grappa costs 10 euros and 4 cl costs 20 euros. Two grappas therefore cost 40 euros. A 750 ml bottle of grappa, on the other hand, costs 44 euros. Now the question is: Did I drink golden grappa, or is this a scam? I understand that restaurants should make money, but this kind of customer deception is absolutely unacceptable! I find those dirty seats disgusting, too. Totally stained and covered in food. Of course, but that's how I found my seats.

We were at the Hamptons last night. Even though it was a Monday, the place was busy. The staff was really friendly, and the sushi was excellent. (Unfortunately, I don't have photos of everything 😅)

We came with a reservation, but despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were seated at a high table next to the counter and kitchen, which was far from ideal. The service felt disorganized: the menu arrived late, different staff members came one after another, and when we asked about the lamb special, it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to check with the chef — all while we could see the discussion happening from our table. The food was disappointing. The sushi is not for traditional sushi lovers — it was heavy on fried rice, meats, and sauces. We also tried fried rice with salmon tartare; unfortunately, the rice was chewy and unpleasant, though the tartare itself was good. My husband’s steak was fine, but my pasta with fresh truffles was overly oily, with truffles grated as if they were Parmesan and lacking real truffle flavor. The cocktails were the highlight — very tasty and well made. However, overall, the experience didn’t match the price point. The atmosphere and service fell short (including casual attire from staff that didn’t feel appropriate), and we left disappointed. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or recommend this place.

Today was our first time at the Hamptons. It was a Tuesday, and by 7 p.m. the place was already very busy. We had the sushi platter for two, which was very generous and delicious. For dessert, my husband had the chocolate maleur and I had the panna cotta. Both were excellent. (The panna cotta was amazing!)

We spontaneously booked two places over our phone, and it worked out perfectly. Great restaurant right on the beach; the server was very friendly and gave us good advice. The best part was the sushi, which was absolutely delicious!

Very friendly staff, Superb view, Great ambiance. A truly lovely restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was truly outstanding. Unfortunately, the prices are quite high. Hence the one-star deduction. Reservations are mandatory - you have to reserve a table for about two hours. However, this is absolutely not a problem. The order was very quick, and the food didn't take long to arrive.

We had sushi, which was really good and fairly priced. The ambiance is also very appealing and lovingly designed. The drinks were consistently well-mixed and delicious. We had a super friendly waitress, a young lady who served us very warmly. This made the visit twice as enjoyable, and we can only recommend it.

It was great. However, for a location like this, they could make sure the beds, etc., were clean, and that the chairs and tables weren't rusty and standing in the sand. That's a point deduction. The service and the food were excellent. Thanks for the wonderful day.

The Hamptons is a unique location. The setting is unparalleled, and the interior design is very appealing. A blend of modern architecture and coziness under a thatched roof. Access to the beach and the direct view of the Baltic Sea immediately evoke a feeling of relaxation. The selection of drinks and food leaves nothing to be desired. We'll be back!

We ate there for my birthday. Sushi was delicious. But... When we made the reservation, we specified that it was a birthday dinner. Despite this, we got the "worst" seat, facing the street. It's a shame, as we had expected a seat with a view for such an occasion. A table facing the water was available. When we asked if we could sit there, we were told the table was reserved. Almost an hour later, the table was given to another server, who stated that it would be reserved in an hour and a half... Doubly unfortunate, because we were lied to. By the time the reservation arrived, we would have been finished long ago.

I can't understand at all how this place got a 4.1 rating. We went out to dinner with the family yesterday... the ambiance, the service, and the food were perfect. Thank you for a lovely evening. We'll be happy to come back.

The sushi is massively overpriced. €85 for a platter for two people is acceptable, but two pieces of nigiri cost €10, which is simply bottomless. A sushi roll with eight pieces costs €27-29. With the platter, you get to choose one of five rolls, and the rest is, of course, vegetarian to save money. When the platter finally arrived, the waitress didn't even know what ingredients were in the other rolls, and the worst part is yet to come: €8.50 for 0.75L of still water, and €12 for a glass of wine. The view is nice, but the prices are a real disappointment.

The service is unfriendly. You get the impression that if you don't have that Sylt look, you're uninteresting. The waiter is very, very snooty.

On August 19th, my girlfriend and I were at the Hamptons Scharbeutz. Since my girlfriend found the spot on Instagram and absolutely wanted to eat there, we drove all the way from Hamburg to Scharbeutz to eat! We were horrified!!... Why? We had a reservation, of course, and arrived at the restaurant shortly before 5 p.m. We were greeted and informed of the two-hour limit. A nice welcome... We got a really nice table in the front row. However, we must have been a bit underwhelmed. Because everyone at each table was chatting at length... only we were ignored. It took 10 minutes to get a menu... When we ordered our drinks (Mezzo and rhubarb spritzer), it became clear that this wasn't what we were expecting. After we got our drinks, we each ordered three rolls of sushi. They were beautifully arranged and served on a platter. However, we had ordered maki with cucumber and not the avocado that was served. We approached the waiter M. and our response was: "Sorry, we actually ordered cucumber, not avocado." Our answer: "Actually, not." The plate was taken from the table and taken away without further comment. No matter how, no matter where!! That's rude and completely unacceptable!! We considered leaving the restaurant immediately! However, we decided to stay and eat, as we had traveled all the way from Hamburg. After a few minutes, the plate was placed back on our table. With the correct order! The sushi was fine! Not a culinary revelation. But delicious. However, we weren't asked if everything was okay or if we wanted another drink. We then skipped dessert and drinks to round off the evening and paid!! We were in the restaurant for 40!! minutes. And we won't be coming back with friends as planned. Conclusion!!! Food OK! Great atmosphere! Super nice. Service… terrible! Probably doesn't apply to everyone there!! Or to all the guests!! What a shame ☹️

The location is great, with wonderful views of the sea. The decor and atmosphere is also nice. The food we had was very poor however. Incredibly bad sushi - with undercooked rice. Edamame overcooked and flavourless. Service was initially nice, but got very tetchy when we told them we didnt like the food. Prices were high, especially for the quality.

We had a very pleasant evening. Although we arrived early, we got a table and even accommodated our request for a window seat. The staff were extremely enthusiastic and exuded a good mood. The ox cheeks were fantastic!

The Hamptons itself is very nice. However, we booked a daybed for €100 without food. They were old, and the transitions had mildew and mold stains. The daybed frame was homemade. The mattress was covered with a cheap fitted sheet that was too big for a regular bed. For that kind of money, you expect higher-quality furniture. The service at the beds was great, though. Otherwise, a very nice place to chill. One small request: please take care of those disgusting outdoor toilets. That reflects on the location.

The service was absolutely terrible. We stood in front of three employees in front of the restaurant. It took five minutes before they let us in. Then the prices were absolutely terrible. For a 0.3 ml non-alcoholic cocktail, €9.50. Then they told us there was no food available, and five minutes later a waiter walked past us with food. The ambiance was okay, but not great. There was also half an ice cream in the cocktail, which was unbelievably bad. I do not recommend it. It is best not to go to this restaurant. I would recommend the Leo.

Highly recommended! Relaxed atmosphere, a beautiful view of the sea, and outstandingly good food. The beef sashimi and truffle pasta were excellent. We've already reserved another table. The Hamptons is definitely one of the top three restaurants in Timmendorf and Scharbeutz.

Now it finally worked, after trying it spontaneously many times. We were greeted warmly and shown to our tables. That was it. We waited over 10 minutes for a waiter. All the guests who arrived after us were served before us!! We thought, what's going on here? An older waiter noticed this, reacted, and told a waitress to finally bring us a menu and a drink list. We were so angry; the whole thing took another 10 minutes. No one came, and after 25 minutes, we got up and left. But we called and explained the whole thing to the operations manager. None of what I'm reading here speaks for the Hamptons. I myself was a technical manager in a restaurant for years, and I've never experienced anything like what happened last night at the Hamptons... From our point of view, this is very poorly organized service. The only good thing was the view of the Baltic Sea. We'll never come back...

The decor and the view are very nice. Unfortunately, the food is extremely overpriced, and the drinks and food took forever to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The music at lunch was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation and was very distracting. Overall, I didn't feel very comfortable. I expected more for the prices.

The food is consistently delicious – no matter what we order, the quality is impressive every time. We'd particularly like to highlight the atmosphere: modern, cozy, and simply a place where you feel at home. But what we're particularly impressed with every time is the loving and friendly way our child is treated. It's rare to receive such a warm welcome and attentive service as a family – you feel completely welcome here. An absolute favorite restaurant – we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Everyone was very friendly.....quick service and prices ok

We had a reservation and were there with our dogs, which wasn't a problem. The young staff was friendly and accommodating to our requests. We had sushi, which wasn't cheap but was incredibly delicious and fresh, certainly far superior to the usual all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. We paid €156 including drinks, but the excellent food and the ocean view were well worth it.

A very charming and indulgent interior, located directly on the beach, so you can also relax outside on daybeds and other furniture and indulge in culinary delights. Fortunately, champagne is also available by the half bottle, and the wine list also features a few good wines. The extensive sushi selection is also highly recommended.

One cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. We reserved a table for two people online. At reception, we were greeted with: "Do you have a dog? You can also mention that when making the reservation. But it can't be changed now. Then I'll have to seat her between two tables with small children." Had it been in a friendly tone, it could have been ignored. Moreover, the online reservation didn't ask about a dog. The menus were handed to us with outstretched arm and carelessly as we walked by. The dishes on offer were vastly overpriced, so we settled on just an Aperol Spritz. When the two glasses arrived, there was a noticeable color difference between the drinks, and only one glass had a straw. When we paid by card and didn't include a tip, we received an ironic, rude response. Friendliness and customer satisfaction clearly don't exist. The location and ambiance are sensational, but that's about it.

My wife and I wanted to spend a pleasant evening, it was her birthday. Unfortunately, we were seated right next to a table where there were babies. They were allowed to scream, yell, bang on the window, and practically crawl under my chair, so it was no longer a pleasant evening. I understand restaurateurs who demand a minimum age for their guests. In an environment like this, I'll be careful who my "neighbors" are in the future. The staff and the food were really good...but unfortunately, that's not enough for a relaxing evening.

A planned mother-daughter evening on the beautiful beach on the terrace in the Hamptons was fraught with annoyances! With limited politeness, we were shown to the table reserved for us inside. When we politely asked if a table directly by the window was possible, the request was arrogantly declined. However, none of the window seats were specifically reserved - some of the walk-ins were subsequently given a seat directly by the window. Upon request, we were graciously allowed to sit by the window on the terrace. We quickly realized, however, that this beautiful spot had one drawback: the doors to the beach were only held up against the wind with the help of sandbags. Overall, the wind blasted down my neck for half the evening. Unfortunately, we were often served after far too long waits. The waiters walked past us and our empty glasses several times. A mediocre implementation for the high-quality restaurant it aspires to be. The three stars are nevertheless awarded for the extremely delicious food and the view.

We were here for the first time today, and what can I say? Fantastic! The location is absolutely magical. We received a very warm welcome from Sami and were excellently pampered by Patrick and Daniel! The drinks are truly excellent, and the value for money is unbeatable! You sit in the front row on the beach and feel like you're in St. Tropez! We'd love to come back! Thank you so much, dear Hampton team ♥️

We'd been planning this for a long time, and on Thursday, the time had finally arrived. We booked a table, originally on the terrace, but due to a company event with the winter gardeners, the windows were open. We had shrimp stew and Tempurs shrimp, followed by crunchy shrimp and surf and turf rolls. Everything was delicious, the service was competent, and, together with the ambiance, simply fantastic.

The perfect place to unwind – highly recommended! Beautiful daybeds right by the sea, attentive service, the best sushi for miles around, and an unforgettable view – for me, the Hamptons in Scharbeutz is one of the most beautiful places on the Baltic Sea. I'll definitely be back!

Why only three stars for food? After all these years, the menu could be redesigned—always the same dishes—it's really boring. Yesterday, the food arrived before we'd even had our drinks; it went so fast :-) (The rice was fried with the curry, fresh would have been better. The Caesar salad with chicken didn't have any pieces of meat, just thin shreds. It could be better! The service was friendly, but even that has been much better here. I was invited, so I didn't mention it directly! Stay tuned!!!

We were there with a large group and were really looking forward to the meal. The restaurant has been raving about on social media. The ambiance and service are truly outstanding, but the food was a disappointment. We had to return one meal twice because, despite repeated requests, it wasn't vegan. The truffle and seafood pasta was also disappointing. The value for money is definitely not right at this place.

We spontaneously decided to follow the call and the impressions on social media and reserved a table for two. It worked out without a hitch. Our table with a water view was well located, and the service was friendly. I have to say, unfortunately, that we were disappointed with the sushi – based on the pictures and reviews, we had expected more. The price-performance ratio wasn't right, in our opinion. We found both the taste and quality rather mediocre. We didn't try any other dishes from the menu – so this review only applies to the sushi, so please bear that in mind! The ambiance and location were/are very nice and definitely even nicer in the summer! I would come back for a sundowner, but not for the sushi. It's a shame that this feedback has been so disparaging. Everyone's tastes differ, and that's okay. We just didn't like it.

The four of us really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was fantastic, right on the water. The portions were amazing…everyone was satisfied! The lamb, truffle pasta, and asparagus with salmon were delicious.

Whenever we are at the Bay of Lübeck, the restaurant is worth a visit.

Von der Lage, direkt an der Ostsee, näher geht es nicht, und von den Speisen sowie dem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis, eine wirklich toller Ort. Im Urlaub sind wir mindestens einmal, drinnen sitzen und auf die Ostsee glotzen, ich habe dann immer ein Dauergrinsen, so fängt unser Urlaub an, besser geht es nicht. Das stillvolle Ambiente und das leckeres Essen obendrauf als Topping.

Very good atmosphere....the view and ambience are great...as for the cocktails, it would be useful to have a size indication...the lemon cheesecake cocktail is very small for 15 euros but tastes good...the restroom area and the signage could do with a makeover/renovation...unfortunately it doesn't fit in with the restroom...but the staff are absolutely top-notch and super friendly.

This was our first time at this place and we thought it would be a bit more upscale, like what we're used to in Munich. Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly fresh and was cooked far too long, so the edamame was soft and the main course was lukewarm. Just for the view, it was way too expensive and not recommended. What a shame. Response: We complained to the waitress, he took note, and no, we didn't finish it! The food was returned.

Four of us stayed at the Hamptons Scharbeutz. The ambience is nice and the taste of the food was okay. However, for us the price-performance ratio is not quite right. After we got the card, we had to wait 15 minutes before we could even place our order. The Caesar salad was initially served incorrectly with chicken, but two minutes later it was correctly served with beef fillet - unfortunately the meat was then overcooked. Our truffle fries were forgotten and the waiter was rather unreasonable and said we should have told them straight away. The salmon, which we had ordered glazed, also did not come as requested. In the end there was a coffee on the house, the fries were not charged and the Caesar salad was also taken off the bill - we thought that was fair. Overall it was okay, but it didn't convince us that we would come back. For us it was a unique visit.

Went here today based on a recommendation and didn't regret it! The quality and taste of the food was top! Service and ambience top! Unfortunately, so does the price. Even if the quality and service justify this for some people, it is unfortunately above normal and not necessarily designed for those who are hungry for extensive sushi variants. Therefore one star less, even if it seems exaggerated. It's always worth a look and a visit or a feast!

Unfortunately, super bad. We wanted to inquire about a larger event there in the Hamptons and were sent from one unreliability to the next. Unfortunately, deadlines, feedback and agreements were not kept. Not recommended.

If there was an opportunity for 6 stars, HAMPTONS would have earned it. Great location right on the beach between Scharbeutz and Timmendorf. Eine Restaurant zum Wohlfühlen, gepflegtes Ambiente, flotter, kompetenter und freundlicher Service, allerbestes Sushi, gute Auswahl an Weinen bei selbstbewussten Preisen. Leider wird das Ambiente dadurch gestört, dass der übergroße Teil der Gäste seine Oberbekleidung über die Stuhllehnen hängt, das Personal lässt sie gewähren und so schaut man allüberall auf Klamotten, wie in einer Kantine. Das ist nicht nur unserer Meinung nach für ein Restaurant eines gehobenen Anspruchs und mit diesem (auch:Preis-)Niveau nicht angemessen und ein grober Schnitzer!
