Amazing food, service was great and speedy! Best waiter is Olsi Biba, fluent in German and English. He was attentive, enthusiastic and smiled during our entire meal!! We felt very welcome and will be returning! Recommend this restaurant hands down!

We were lucky enough to find this wonderful Italian restaurant. Everything about it was first class. Ask Biba our server. He will give you the best advice about food and wine and the rest. You will have a meorable dinner.

Didn't feel welcome, people were rather matter-of-fact. I had the vegetarian lasagne with ricotta and spinach. You could eat them, I was just hungry. Unfortunately the ice cream is the worst ice cream I have ever eaten. Had an eggnog cup. Neither the cream, the sauce, the egg liqueur nor the ice cream tasted good, there's something that doesn't taste good. It's never actually happened that I've given bad reviews. I had read the reviews about this restaurant before and couldn't understand the good reviews at all. I'm sorry I can't say anything better. What else needs to be said is that I sat outside in the beer garden. It looked nice from the inside but I wasn't allowed to go through the restaurant, I had to go around the outside. Unfortunately I didn't understand. I also found the prices very high for what I got. The sundae with three scoops of ice cream costs just under 10 euros!!! If it had been good I wouldn't have complained about the price.

Food OK but expensive, location on the city wall with several tables outside. Typical tourist restaurant, they don't care about the guests coming back. The service was sometimes very unfriendly.

We have rarely eaten such delicious pizza as at Michelangelo's! Particularly noteworthy is the absolutely attentive and friendly service. At lunchtime we sat in the beautiful, quiet outdoor area right next to the city wall. We will definitely come back on our next vacation in Rothenburg.

We came here for pizza with two children, 10 and 7 years old. The inside is quite nice and tidy, neatly set tables, friendly staff. There were still a few people there, so we chose the table we liked. We looked at the menu, in the end, the children each took a small Margherita pizza, my wife ordered risotto (rice) with mushrooms, and I ordered a beef steak with potatoes and arugula, and drinks. The steak and risotto were decorated quite interestingly, which was a surprise: usually they draw stripes of sauce and serve them, but here it’s clear that they used some creative imagination. It's nice. Plus, the risotto itself was also served in an additional cheese ramekin. Overall, this is the second time I couldn't resist taking a photo of the dish. Cool. I'm not a fan of Margherita and rice, but the children, who also wanted to try the rice, and my wife were delighted with both the pizza and the risotto. Then everyone unanimously demanded that I share the steak, as a result, the youngest daughter ate both her pizza and almost half of my steak, and the eldest also stole potatoes from the plate, although she is indifferent to potatoes. Although I was “eaten up”, the dishes were quite large, so even I, with my 100+ kg, remained full and satisfied. For everything we left about 85 euros, plus a tip.

Buonissimo and make a reservation After four days of being immersed in unexciting German cuisine, we were ready for a change. And we found that at Ristorante Michelangelo, 400m from our hotel... Although both inside and outside were busy, we were lucky and were able to join within 10 minutes. The service went back and forth. It was extremely busy today, we heard the waiter say. Our bruschetta al pomodoro, in due, was unexpectedly neatly served on two plates. Together with the insalata mista ordered by both. Then came the Spaghetti Bolognese and Rigatoni quatro formagio. Italian cuisine became a feast for the taste buds. The enthusiastic and beautiful words on the site were more than lived up to. And if you are used to familiarizing your grandchildren with fresh products, such as homemade pasta, then you can only appreciate what the kitchen puts on the table here. Nostri complimenti.

Unfortunately we are more than disappointed. First of all, the older gentleman inside who spoke to us in a sharp and arrogant tone without greeting us. Afterwards we asked if we could sit outside, we said yes and we wanted to sit outside at one of the many free tables. The restaurant was 90% empty. Another very unfriendly younger gentleman scolded us for what we thought of and why we just wanted to sit down; he would show us where we had to sit down. The tone with a guest should be different. The gentleman is definitely in the wrong job in service. It was all too stupid for me and we just said that we were absolutely dissatisfied with the situation and that we would now look for a better restaurant. As a Google Local Guide, I cannot recommend this facility under any circumstances. There are much better ones in the immediate vicinity.

Ich war so was von positiv überrascht. Große Auswahl von Glutenfreien Speisen. Nudeln und Pizza möglich. Auch Desserts stehen zur Auswahl. Der Rest der Familie hat normal gegessen, und wir waren alle begeistert. Genug Auswahl für Kinder!!! 😍 Am Wochenende früh zeitig reservieren!!!!! Wir kommen wieder.

Essen war perfekt. Nudeln sind hausgemacht. Glutenfreie Pizza und Nudeln perfekt gekocht resp. gebacken. Sehr freundlicher Service, schönes Ambiente.

Restaurant Michelangelo is located on the quiet end of the street next to the town wall. We ate inside as the outside was fully booked. We both enjoyed the Salmon in parchment paper. The servers were very friendly and recommended wine to go with our meal. Reservations are highly recommended.

Very tasty food! Lasagna is highly recommended and the pizza (gluten-free version) was also very good. Ambiance was nice too, we sat outside. Drinks take a long time to be served. We'd love to come back.

Wir waren hier aufgrund der tollen Empfehlungen und wurden enttäuscht. Der Service ist unfreundlich. Wir hatten Bruschetta, bei der das Brot völlig durchweicht war. Die Spaghetti aglio e olio waren trocken und fast ohne Knoblauch. Das Tiramisu wurde im Glas serviert und erinnerte nur bedingt an das köstliche italienische Dessert. Rinderfilet für 36 Euro ist auch mal eine Ansage. 22 Uhr wurde man rigoros rausgeschmissen. Eine Familie kam um 5 vor 22 Uhr und hatte dann echt Stress, ihr Essen noch in Ruhe zu essen. Es gibt bessere Italiener. Besuchen Sie lieber ein anderes Restaurant. Positiv: Man sitzt schön an der Stadtmauer. Innen war es unangenehm stickig.

Very nice and elegant restaurant, the food is very good and Italian, only one small flaw... the pizza... doesn't resemble the Italian one at all, but I think they can improve it, very kind and helpful staff! especially the Albanian waiter, very nice and kind!

Great (homemade) pasta, nice service and nice ambience!

Food and dessert were excellent. Easily the best food we had between Munich and Rothenburg. We ordered the fish and aglio olio and wish we also had space for the grilled king prawns as well. Loved it!

We tried some ice cream shops here. We waited long to get service and ordered: strawberry, chocolate, lemon, tropical fruit and hassle nut. Most of them all tested bad. I would not like to come again.

Best of both worlds: delicious Italian food served with German efficiency. Place was packed, we were a table of 8. Incredible service! No problemo. Menu smartly divided by: Veggie, Fish & Meat with suggested wine pairings! Separate checks ok, street side gelato service. Reservations recommended for dinner.

Delicious fish of the day on the grill (dorada) - the waiter fillet-ed it for us, after showing it on a tray. They also have a good prosecco to start the meal (or accompany the fish).

We go to Rothenburg once a year and eat here every time. Top Italian cuisine.

To start with, the old waiter was grumpy, he couldn't take jokes, he was very short, the corners of his mouth went to the floor. The pizzas were just made of plastic and had no taste. Lasagna was not fully cooked. It was clean.

The window was slammed in our face on Saturday, July 21st, 2024 at 9:08 p.m., even though we only wanted to buy one scoop of ice cream for our two children. The family in front of us was sold an ice cream and we waited behind them.

We found this restaurant by chance. Beautifully located right on the city wall. The food was an absolute pleasure, and the service was also very attentive and courteous. More than recommended!

We arrived at the restaurant, we were given a table, but after that they didn't serve us once, we had to call the waiter. The starters (carpaccio and salmon tartare) were good, but our dishes were pretty bad (black tagliatelle with salmon, pork with gorgonzola sauce and pasta, and pasta stuffed with asparagus). The atmosphere was hot and the food took a while.

This place was right in town and so so good. Lovely staff and great food.

Perfect experience! The food was amazing, we tried the tagliatelle and the pizza bianca. Both were exceptional. It is also not as crowded or touristy which provided a welcoming environment.

Eat in Rothenburg~ The Italian restaurant located next to the city wall. The pizza and pasta tasted a little dry, which I wasn’t used to. I thought they were all made the same way in Europe, but later I compared the Italian restaurants in Königssee with those in Berlin. They didn’t taste that dry. I'm more used to it. Overall, it's not bad and the price is acceptable. You can still try it when you come to Rothenburg. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful. It's a good experience to sit outside and enjoy the city wall while dining when the weather is good.

Very nice atmosphere. The food are so authentic and taste amazing. Recommended if you are in the neighborhood.

An absolute recommendation. As a starter we had the beef carpacio with parmesan croquettes. It was beautifully presented and with the freshly grated truffle and the fried rocket, there were two taste surprises that you wouldn't expect with a carpacio. The look and taste were worth the money. The main course was tagliatelle with sepia ink in lobster butter, which was accompanied by a selection of seafood, crowned with sea asparagus. Although at the beginning you thought it could be a little saltier, the combination with the sea asparagus made a lot of sense and it was a very well-rounded picture. We also had a pizza with smoked salmon and asparagus. The pizza was also very good, not oily and the salmon wasn't too salty either. The service was very courteous and quick. It is definitely a recommendation if you want to experience Italian cuisine in Rothenburg.
