Very tasty spaetzle as a side dish, but it was also very good and the waiter was super nice, a lovely evening.

Expensive, but good - Maximilians is no longer a newcomer to the Berlin restaurant scene and has firmly established itself: both among connoisseurs and tourists who think Bavarian food is German food 😉. The dishes are varied and cover everything you'd expect to find in Bavarian cuisine, and of course, there's plenty of good beer and other tasty drinks. There were six of us and we paid just under 180 euros - so it was perfectly reasonable, and above all, we were all full and satisfied 😌!

Amazing German food and excellent service. If you go for dinner, make sure to make a reservation, if you go after 8:30 you can find a table even for big groups without a reservation. We liked it so much we had dinner here twice, one of the few places where waiters are actually nice and food good quality. We can totally recommend the Schniztel or the Duck.

Finally, a great traditional German bar and restaurant in Berlin! The place itself is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who have a wealth of information about the food and drinks. A great opportunity to try some things unique to Berlin, such as the green 'Berliner Kindl Weisse' beer! To eat we ordered the veal schnitzel and bratwurst, both generous portions and really flavoursome. Would definitely recommend this place to tourists who want a real traditional culinary experience while in Berlin.

I really like the pickled cabbage side dish! The wine is also delicious. The service is very good. Enthusiastic and patient. I ate there for two consecutive days.

The Haxen and Weisswurst don't seem particularly delicious compared to Munich, but the service is better than other restaurants. They greet customers cheerfully when they come in. This restaurant has a variety of beers, so it would be good to have at least two beers. Even when it rains, there are many seats, so it's easy to eat.

The food was unbeatable, the waiter knows how to individually select an order for the client, I can say that this is the best experience I have had. 10/10🤗

During our trip to Berlin, we were lucky enough to discover this place. Everything was fantastic from the first moment: the attention of the waiter who served us and the food we were served. The latter was delicious, with generous portions and excellent presentation. Highly recommended for trying Bavarian cuisine. Without a doubt, it's a must-stop if you visit this city.

A Bavarian restaurant in Mitte? There are already a few... you'd think. But German cuisine is truly loved here, and not just thrown together for casual customers. It's fresh, inventive, and very, very tasty. Plus a wide selection of excellent beers, always served in the right glass, of course, and with the logo facing the customer! You can tell that this is definitely NOT a place to "feed" people. Compliments to Martin and his team!

We were there with a larger group. While some had already finished eating, others hadn't eaten yet. However, this was compensated for with a round of schnapps for everyone. 👍🏼 The food was delicious. The various beer specialties were great!

A must-stop if you're visiting Berlin as a tourist. The pork knuckle is a must-try! The liter beers are ice-cold. In general, all the dishes we tried were excellent (duck, pork, etc.).

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent and very clean location. Reasonably priced. I'm giving it 3 stars because I don't understand the concept of tipping. The restaurant sets the price of dishes and drinks, so why ask for a tip? If they consider the dishes more valuable than the listed price, then raise the price, and I'll decide whether or not to eat. The practice of asking for a tip, which is half voluntary and half mandatory, lowers the restaurant's standing. Nevertheless, the place is highly recommended.

They didn't even ask for our seats and guided us to the inner square? We found 4 Asian tables crowded together. As soon as we became convinced that this was racism, they slammed the cups with sauce on the Asian tables. The food was also served with a slam. They said they would pay and it took 20 minutes to pay. Where was their conscience? They asked us to choose a tip. I wanted to spit instead of tip. I took a picture here for the first time and went to other local restaurants, but they were all so, so kind. Common sense that works for us is common sense there too. You should be ashamed. Koreans should never go there. The taste is nothing special. Never eat potatoes.

An excellent place to eat in Berlin, especially the region's most representative dishes. Including the apple strudel and schweinshaxe, with their crispy, golden skin—delicious. Highly recommended.

A great place to relive southern German cuisine. The high price is justified by its flavors; but not so for the schnitzel. My wallet was hurt by 30 euros, and my stomach was holding on to another piece of schnitzel. Still, very good.

Centrally located restaurant with an extensive menu of traditional German/Bavarian cuisine. Tastefully decorated and clean. I would have been a candidate for a repeat visit several times during my stay in Berlin, but I didn't for a reason I'll explain later. The food is very decent. In our case, we ordered the buttered pretzel, which was served hot and delicious. We also ordered the bratwurst, which, accompanied by cabbage and mashed potatoes, is a very acceptable dish. The prices are somewhat high (the bratwurst was around €19 and the pretzel was €3.90), and the drinks menu, especially the beer, costs over €5 per drink. I liked the food and the place, but there was something I didn't like, and it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I think it's important to know this before you go, especially if you come from a culture where tipping isn't obligatory, but something completely voluntary: when you ask for the bill, they bring it to you with a pen, with which you "must" fill out a section dedicated to the tip and, therefore, the final price of the bill. It's not supposed to be mandatory, but we noticed a negative, uncomfortable, disappointed, and unfriendly attitude from the waitress who served us and charged us, considering (I assume) that the tip wasn't enough. We later discovered that it's typical to leave a 10% tip on the bill, which I think is outrageous, given the price of the dishes. I'm sorry, but I think the price of the dishes is already high enough that an additional 10% tip is expected as a rule. I understand that customs may vary from country to country, but I would have liked the staff to show understanding and kindness regardless of the amount left. That feeling of pressure and disapproval when paying was what made me decide not to return, even though I highly recommended the restaurant and the food. I think this way of pressuring customers to get a "high" tip detracts from the restaurant's reputation.

Great service and good German cuisine

During our stay in Berlin, almost at the end of our tour, we came across this treasure. Upon arrival, they greeted us kindly and were patient enough to order. We were served by a friendly, always smiling lady. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Now I can tell you that this place is a must-visit on your trip to Berlin. Congratulations!

Very tasty food, hearty dishes. I didn't like that they served the beer with too much foam. I also didn't think it was reasonable or consistent with the rest of the menu that the Caesar salad cost €23, even though it was generous. I also didn't like that instead of croutons it came with two slices of toasted bread, or that instead of chicken pieces it came with a piece of chicken that I should have cut and that had a bone in it. The sauce had a strong mustard flavor. It was tasty, but it wasn't the salad I expected, and I was unpleasantly surprised. I know many restaurants innovate with classic dishes, but personally, I prefer the traditional Caesar salad. You don't have to cut anything, just mix and eat. My son loved the bratwurst with mashed potatoes, and my husband also really liked the dazu salad. Be careful with the dressings! The red packet that usually contains ketchup is mustard here. Pay attention! The service was fast, and the staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were spotless. I recommend it to anyone looking for traditional German food.

Delicious food! But when drunken Englishmen started singing and clapping loudly incessantly, the mood – no matter how good the food – quickly plummeted. Then someone from our table approached the men and politely asked if they could turn it down a bit, as they were making so much noise that they couldn't have a conversation. The woman who went over was then insulted. One of the Englishmen sat down at our table, got on our nerves, and insulted us. When we called a waiter, who had also heard what was going on, we were simply ignored. What a pity!

The restaurant is a bit above average. The food was good and the service was also good. As for the prices, beer was around €5 and for dinner I had a Weiner schnitzel with salad and it was €30. Otherwise, you can definitely eat for around €20. For dessert I had a strudel and it was very good.

Excellent German cuisine. Everything is clear, delicious, the atmosphere is pleasant and the service was very warm the first time. Therefore, I wanted to come back. Second time (different waiter) service: it was formal and dry and it is somewhat difficult to accept when you are a guest and therefore we did not order more ... I hope for the first atmosphere, for relaxed hospitality, and also a pleasant evening.

We had pork knuckles (half) and two types of sausages (Munich and white). The portions were quite big and everything was delicious and filling. Definitely recommend as a tourist visiting Berlin wanting the German food we usually think of. Great for parties as well as they have long seats that can accompany 10+ people.

We ordered the Wednesday business lunch, the Vienna pork schnitzel and the fried chicken kids meal, all of which were delicious, and the side dishes were also delicious. We also ordered two beers, which were also very delicious, highly recommended.

Honestly, after spending four days in Berlin, this was the best place to eat, hands down! A 10 for both food, price, and service! We ordered a pork knuckle (a whole one if there are two of you), which was IMPRESSIVE (especially compared to other places), some Munchen sausages, and the apple dessert (which I can't spell). Everything was delicious. The waitress was also very helpful with advice and even asked if we wanted to change the side dish for the sausages so we wouldn't have to repeat it on both plates. Try the wheat beer! Delicious!

Traditional but modernized, the food is good, the service is friendly, average, prices are similar to others, and the plates are large. The bill is quite high if you order a bottle of wine. They give you the option to choose your tip.

Just had a pleasant lunch here. At 1 PM on a Saturday, the restaurant was busy but there was no wait for a table. Our waiter, Benny, was very friendly and cheerful, which added to the experience. The food was excellent, we had the Ganze Haxe and Münchener Bratwurst, paired with a refreshing Berliner Kindl Weisse. Highly recommended. Super!

Perhaps some guests forget that a service employee in the restaurant is not a "lightning rod" for personal frustration. From us “Nurembergians” all the best and kind regards to the whole team!!!

The food was very good and the service was even better.

I went there twice to eat asparagus during my stay. The soup made with plenty of asparagus broth was excellent. The most popular dish seemed to be the Schweisse Hachse.

The ox cheek was amazing. Nice selection of beers on tap too. A bit more expensive compared to other local restaurants but it's been my favorite meal on my trip to Germany.

I'd perhaps define it as a perfect place for Berlin food. The portions seem a bit small for the price, but the food is delicious. They have several beer options and the tables are spacious enough to fit a large crowd. They aren't super-fast with serving or serving. The service is decent, and they try to be friendly.

A good restaurant. The only one I know where beer is kept in oak barrels in Berlin. Definitely try the beer from the barrels, although not everyone will like it. I also recommend Marzen. We didn't order food, as the prices are not cheap, although they are understandable considering the location of the place. The restaurant is well located in a nice and prestigious area of ​​Berlin. The staff is pleasant. The price of beer is average. We didn't sit inside much, but from the outside there is a good view of Mitte (although not everyone will like this area). Overall, I recommend going there

The service was not very fast: the place is huge and sometimes you are forgotten for a moment... but nothing serious if you have time! But in any case everyone was very kind!

I ate a steak there. The steak cost just under €40. The quantity was just right. However, the steak was very lean and, in my opinion, not of the quality I was hoping for for just under €40. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The restrooms (men's) were very clean.

Good sausages. Fair prices! No problem. I'm not that good with computers either. Unfortunately, I'm retired now and can't come to Berlin anymore. But I always had a good time with you.

Walked in on a weekday evening and got a table easily. Inside is nice and spacious, and has a cosy tavern vibe with lots of beer! I went for veal meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy for my main. The meatballs had a nice crust and were nicely seasoned, not dry at all. Mash was not completely smooth and had a bit of texture, but tasted as it should do. It all goes well with the gravy but even better when you squeeze copious amounts of mustard on so you can have it with each bite. Portion size was very generous! Also, their pretzels looked really good too but I had eaten earlier so didn’t have much space.. For dessert it was an apple strudle with custard and ice cream. Nice flakey pastry and slightly tart apple filling. The hot custard makes for a fun contrast with the cold ice cream. Come here for authentic Bavarian food :)

We went to eat and the waitress who served us was very rude. When she heard us speaking Spanish, she made a disgusted face. We ordered pork knuckle and she told us they were out of stock. We later found out that wasn't true. When she heard someone at our table speaking German, her temper changed, but she was only talking to her. She didn't look very German. So, it's terrible, we won't be back, nor will I recommend it.

I ate white asparagus because it was seasonal, and it was delicious. Compared to other places, Haksen was not tough and the skin was very crispy. There are many kinds of beer and it is delicious.

One of the best experiences in all of Germany. This is an authentic German restaurant, and to sum it up, everything was excellent! Excellent food, top quality, and very friendly service from all the staff. The waiters were 10/10. Highlights include their buttered pretzel, the Grosse Münchner Bratwurst, and the Wiener Kalbsschnitzel (veal escalope)... all very good dishes and not to be missed!
