The service was in traditional costume, the beer selection was extensive, including strong beer, and the food was excellent. We had a hearty evening. The service was fast and friendly, and there were many Bavarian specialties. The restaurant is also very suitable for groups. A clear recommendation for a pleasant beer evening.

Typical food. The waitress guided me through my order, because the menu is in German and English, and I don't speak German or English, so you can imagine. But they were very helpful, and I had a fantastic meal.

It's actually a great restaurant, albeit very touristy, but it's unacceptable that there's a large sign on the entrance door stating that Diners Club credit cards are accepted, and then when paying, they say "no." Very unpleasant as a guest.

I tried one of Germany's specialties, the knuckle. The meat is of good quality, tender, and has a good consistency. In Mexico, it's very similar to a chamorro, except it's the upper part. Here, the special thing is how they make it, the skin is like pork rinds, giving it a good flavor and texture. The portion is very generous, and if you order mashed potatoes, it's delicious, with a very rich gravy. Now, coming from Mexico, a country where pork is made into carnitas, in my opinion, it lacked flavor. I'm not saying it's bad, but it needs to have that flavor in the meat to be spectacular.

On the afternoon of 13th August 2024, I visited Restaurant Maximilians in Berlin, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, I encountered poor service, mediocre food, and an overall unpleasant dining experience. Firstly, the food was nothing special—the flavours were average at best, and the quality did not justify the price. What was even more concerning was that shortly after the meal, I experienced stomach discomfort, which made me question the freshness and hygiene of the food. However, the biggest issue was the terrible service. While I do not expect overly attentive service at all times, I do expect basic courtesy and professionalism, neither of which were present. The staff were unfriendly and inattentive, making us feel unwelcome throughout the meal. The worst part came at the payment stage, where one of the cashiers displayed a disrespectful attitude—both in their tone of voice and facial expressions. The dismissive and condescending manner in which we were treated was completely unacceptable. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I have had. With poor food quality, disappointing service, and an unwelcoming atmosphere, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. There are many better options in Berlin, and I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more enjoyable and respectful dining experience.

Excellent service, beer and pork knuckle were good.

We came here on the recommendation of some friends and loved it. The atmosphere was great, and the waiters were incredibly friendly. We ordered the pork knuckle and bratwurst, and both were delicious. We also had potato soup as a starter. The pork knuckle was incredibly tender and the crust was crispy, accompanied by cabbage and mashed potatoes. We loved everything, and the prices were very good for Berlin. They also have a wide variety of beers.

The strong beer tapping was once again great. It was very crowded and the atmosphere was BOMB. We were lucky that the band was so great. The Falkenseer are in no way inferior to the chapels here in Bavaria. We'd love to come back!

Maximilians has always been our favorite restaurant in Berlin, we especially enjoy coming to events like the strong beer tapping. As always, delicious food, great atmosphere and the band from Falkensee was awesome! We look forward to the next visit.

Good place to taste some good beers and typical food from the area.

My girlfriend and I were here last year for the strong beer tapping and again this year. It was even better. The beer is great and the schnitzel is fantastic. The Falkensee musicians also played, really good music and a great atmosphere. We can highly recommend it. When the music plays again we will definitely be there.

Big, hearty portions. Bavarian food and German beer. Friendly, English-speaking staff with English translated menu (photo-menu via QR code). Beef cheeks and Bavarian beer were excellent. Maybe best for meat-lovers but there were veggie options.

My husband and I found out about the strong beer tapping in the restaurant and were absolutely thrilled by the delicious beer, the great food and the great ambience. The staff were sooo friendly! The whole thing was topped off with the musical accompaniment, the Falkensee musicians, who played so brilliantly!!!! We'll definitely be there again next year! ❤️

We ate here a couple of times while we were in Berlin and the food and service were both great. Proper hearty German food, big portions, loads of local beers, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. We had the half pork knuckle and ox cheek the one time and port medallions and sausage the other time. Good service too! All in all a great place and would recommend to others, just be careful around lunch as it does get busy!

Really good food, very tasty and perfectly done. Big portions. Great beer, tried the special and a Weisen beer and they were excellent, easy to drink. The inside had a good vibe but seated outside was a bit flat with no ambience and lots of echo. Recommend booking a table inside. Service with a smile.

Visited here without a reservation and was seated with no issue, service was good to start with but became a little slower later on however it was very busy with a couple of large groups so understandable, food was really nice tasting and well presented, beer selection great so offers an authentic beer hall experience especially if you are visiting for drinks only.

Very nice establishment, staff very friendly and efficient, beer excellent and the Schnitzel I had for dinner was excellent ,overall a wonderful experience.

Resulta sorprendente lo difícil que es encontrar en Berlín un lugar para tomar la típica comida alemana: salchichas, codillos, etc.; en el barrio donde nos alojamos, pegado a la Potsdamer Strasse, ni un solo local "berlinés", todos del resto del mundo, cuestionable efecto de la globalización. En fin, tras consultar esta web TA nos decidimos por este céntrico restaurante, y acertamos: todo bien rico y gran variedad de cervezas, aunque el codillo de cerdo --"Haxe"-- espectacular, la carne es su punto de suculencia y la piel crujiente, con un sabroso tostado y abundante guarnición. El servicio además muy diligente, siendo sábado --y sin reserva-- nos dieron mesa en pocos minutos. Precios respetuosos y buen ambiente.

Very good restaurant, the food came warm and quickly, the prices were also very good for the quality, the waitress was also very polite and checked on us several times. All in all, it's at least worth a visit, or more in my opinion.

We visited the Maximilians restaurant on February 4, 2025 in Berlin and we were satisfied :) The atmosphere of a real Bavarian inn: cozy, noisy, lots of tourists and locals. Fast service, polite waiters. Interestingly, the menu includes a QR code that allows quick access to the restaurant's full offer, including photos of the dishes, which allows you to better understand the selection before ordering. Tasty food, large portions. We tried classic German dishes - schnitzel, pork shank and potato salad, everything was perfectly prepared. We were also delighted with the beer - a large selection and great quality. We especially liked the pretzel - fresh, with a crispy skin and a soft center, it went perfectly with the beer. For dessert, we ordered strudel - it was delicious, with crispy dough and juicy filling, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The perfect end to dinner! The only minus - we waited 15 minutes for a table, because the place is very popular. Therefore it is better to book in advance. If someone is looking for a quieter atmosphere, it is worth choosing the Wintergarten room (Winter Garden) with a glass ceiling - it seemed quieter there than in the main hall. All in all, it's a great place to experience German cuisine!

I was contacted on Telegram by Julia (Ms. Julia) from the promotion team of this restaurant and said they would pay me €200-300 for each review. When I followed up, the chat was deleted and I was blocked. So unfortunately who doesn't know whether you got 11,000 reviews here because of a good beer or because of bought reviews.

I highly recommend visiting this brewery. The beer here is really tasty and there is a large selection to suit every taste. I took half a shank and ate it, very tasty and quite large portions. The menu has a QR code that can be scanned and there is even a menu in Russian. The service was at the highest level, and when we arrived there was live music. Large atmospheric restaurant. The only thing is that if you come with a group, there may not be seats even during the week, because the place is really popular. If possible, book a table in advance. Well, or you'll have to wait, but it's worth it. If I ever go to Berlin again, I will definitely return to this restaurant. This is my favorite.
