The best pork knuckle or Schweinshaxe -Bavarian style I've ever eaten. Very tender meat and wonderful beer sauce served on the side.

We had a good lunch. The shop is great with typical brewery food and great service. Very friendly.

Super welcoming environment and furnished in typical Bavarian style. The structure is very large and at the tables on the second floor you can enjoy a view of beautiful monuments. The food was excellent and the menu varied, portions were right, the prices were a little high but still average. Worthy of note are the very soft Schnitzel and the truly tasty cheese Spätzle.

Тут было спокойно и размеренно, без толп и большого скопления людей, и это при том, что были здесь в субботу вечером. Немецкая кухня великолепна сама по себе, что и доказало данное заведение. Будь то немецкие колбаски, или свиное колено. Остались сытые и довольные. Пиво по-баварской традиции отменное. Прекрасен легкий хэль, темный дюнкель, а так же сезонное. Отдельно выделю прекрасное обслуживание. Все было на высоте. Место однозначно рекомендую.

Very touristy. Not authentic enough. There are many other restaurants in Berlin that are much better. Sadly this resturant goes after people who have left reviews they don't like. What do they have to hide? I wouldn't trust this resturant.

Lunch as part of a BPA trip. Service was quick, no one had to wait long. Vegetarians were taken into account. Drinks came quickly. Beer is good, of course. Prices absolutely okay, always worth a visit. Goulash in a photo never looks appetizing, I added it anyway. That was really good.

For ERDINGER beer fans, that’s a must visit if you are in Berlin. Food and service were excellent I highly recommend trying the schnitzel and the steak

The waitress ran around hectically, past our obviously empty table countless times, then much later brought the order incorrectly, became snippy when we complained and had to be replaced. But then she said (without being asked) that she had to give her dog away because of the “shitty job”. She was so “motivated” to work. When she asked us and the people sitting next to us to pay five times, she responded with an annoyed "in a moment", then she walked past again and didn't come back; we put the money on the table and left. Impossible!

Schweinhaxen restaurant I visited twice while in Berlin The advantage compared to other restaurants is that you can order it in half (I remember it costs 18 euros), so it's perfect for a moderate meal. The pork skin is really hard like a rock, but it is very delicious (if you don't cut it with a knife, it will be very noisy and ugly). The lean meat is tender and juicy. A woman in her 20s went alone (Korean), and it seemed like there was a separate table for Asians. I thought this was something I had to take into consideration when traveling alone in Europe, so I just quietly sat down and ate as they were given a seat. The food came out in about 5 minutes on the first visit and about 1 minute on the second visit (in fact, I think it took less than a minute, it came out almost immediately). Considering that there is a separate Asian table... In many ways, this is the best restaurant. The nearby buildings are so pretty that it's a sight to behold after eating at night. I'm going to Berlin again soon and I'll definitely go here again. (For Koreans: If the waiter displays a separate tip window when paying, I recommend giving at least 5% if 10% seems a bit much. It's good to eat something delicious and finish in a good mood. You know what that is, right?)

Nice pub in the centre. The Currywust with chips was fabulous and the beer was also excellent, prices more than fair.

Fast service, geared towards groups. Enjoy your meal.

Mi familia y yo realmente nos gustó este restaurante. Hay una gran variedad de comida y bebida, y todos conseguimos algo que nos gustó. Mis dos hijos fueron con salchichas y cerveza queriendo toda la experiencia alemana, mi marido, mucho menos aventurero, consiguió la hamburguesa de queso, y yo siendo el vegetariano fui con una ensalada y sopa. Todos estábamos felices. El personal era atento, el restaurante tenía un ambiente animado y divertido. Buena comida. Esta fue nuestra primera comida de muchas en Alemania, y había olvidado que conseguir agua del grifo, realmente no es una cosa. Mis hijos se rieron de que mi agua costara más que su cerveza.

Typically German bar/restaurant with a very good atmosphere. There are regulars and tourists like us, young people and old people, everything mixes harmoniously. The servers are extremely friendly and the dishes are good. Value for money is good too. We liked it so much that we went there two evenings in a row.

Last night we arrived, ordered, and waited one hour and a half until the waiter told us that he forgot to send our order and then the kitchen closed (I think it was a lie because he was around all that Time) next time it would be better that you tell us quickly so we can find another place before everything is closed and we end up eating nothing. 2 stars because we didnt have to pay for the couple of drinks.

Nice place and super welcoming, kind and friendly staff, a kind waiter welcomed us for both evenings in which we dined with sympathy and friendliness, fair prices for a dinner complete with second course, side dish, two beers and water, we were there We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return the next evening. The dishes were plentiful and tasty. Highly recommended!!!

The food is more of the same [like in a commercial kitchen]. It came in a short time because there was little activity. The potato dumplings are described as “homemade”. These are more rubbery than loose and tender. The service lacks passion.

We had a good time there. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious.

The place is nice and the food is good too, at prices that are not exaggerated being in the center of Berlin. It's a shame about the somewhat rude service, I understand the rustic and informal setting... but even less so

We were actually there on Sunday afternoon to have a drink and pass the time. Then we liked it so much that we went there for dinner in the evening. It was great, good service, friendliness and delicious food also impressed us in the evening.

Very great service, delicious food and a beautiful location. We had 1x roast pork, 1x Nuremberg sausage and 1x potato soup - everything was very successful and tasty. Real insider tip at the Gendarmenmarkt!

Hats off to the chef he was very good & food was banging. On the other hand the waiter was down right rude. From the moment we walked in & told to go to our table the man had an artifice with us. Whenever we wanted to order or ask for anything else, like butter & an extra fork, he tutted at us & was made to feel like it was a chore to him. When we left & said thankyou he completely ignored us. That waiter let his colleagues in the kitchen down by being so rude & disrespectful to us.

Great place, especially for the business (lunch) menu during the week. As for the full menu, I find it slightly too pricey but I haven't explored it enough to be able to review it.

We went in and got taken to a table on the top floor. We asked the waiter if we could sit by a specific empty table by the window and he didn’t hear that it seems and we got taken to another table which was fine. Unfortunately the top floor felt very warm as well - maybe they could open a window for some fresh air. Then no one came to take our order for about 15-20 mins. So we left. Not a great experience.

Traditional German restaurant with good food and good service. Had Christmas lunch here and we were not disappointed, it was hard finding something open on the 25th but we stumbled upon this place and it quickly became our favorite meal in Berlin! I recommend getting the sausage platter and pairing it with a Helles. The atmosphere is cozy and by being so well decorated, you feel at home.

Bueno, qué experiencia tan abrumadora. Me encanta la cerveza Erdinger y la comida alemana. Así que durante un viaje reciente a Berlín me agradó obtener una reserva en este restaurante un sábado por la noche. Hicimos una reserva para 19. 30 y cuando llegamos el restaurante estaba solo un 25% lleno. Fuimos recibidos severamente por uno de los miembros del equipo que dijo que no teníamos una reserva. Cuando se lo mostramos nos envió arriba. Cuando subimos nos dijeron que el piso de arriba estaba cerrado y nos enviaron abajo mientras el funcionario gritaba a un camarero que nos diera una mesa. Pedimos nuestras bebidas y algo de comida, goulash y cerdo asado crujiente. El cerdo estaba bien, pero no crujiente, pero el goulash de mi esposa era tan salado que no podía terminarlo. Nuestro camarero era eficiente, pero no nos ofrecieron ningún postre, así que nos dieron la cuenta y nos dirigimos a un bar para tomar unas copas. El ambiente era como una biblioteca, habíamos comido previamente al otro lado de la plaza en el restaurante Augustiner que tenía un gran ambiente, comida y servicio. Qué decepción.

We are happy that we found the restaurant, we come from near Munich ourselves and it was an honor to drink an Erdinger wheat beer here. The food we had was all very tasty and for me this restaurant is a clear recommendation. It also scores points here with a great ambience and excellent service.

Fabulous food and the service was excellent at the start. Unfortunately after we had received our meals, we didn't see the waiter for another 45 min. We were going to order dessert but he took too long to come back.

Unfortunately I had a sharp-edged metal wire in the potato salad, which slightly tore open the roof of my mouth. We then pointed out the problem to the waitress (perhaps utensils in the kitchen were broken). He was then told to clarify this. We received neither an explanation nor, at the very least, an apology. Ok, we thought about it. We then tried a pretzel that we had ordered. Unfortunately it was bone dry and rock hard, virtually inedible. When the second waitress wanted to clear our table and asked if everything was OK, we replied no, that the pretzel was rock hard and there was metal in the food. -No reaction- When we subsequently paid, waitress 1 asked us whether everything was OK. We have the same answer and that we will not pay for the 2nd pretzel. The waitress apparently wasn't able to take the second pretzel off the bill, so we had to pay for it too. That's why the tip was dropped. The store is now an absolute no-go for us.

They serve delicious Spätzle with melted cheese and roasted onions. The Schnitzel got full marks too. Very busy and popular restaurant. Best to book. We were lucky as they squeezed us in.

A very comfortable place, with good beer and good food.

Were there on Sunday for a small Christmas party, 8 people. Start 1 p.m. We then ordered food at 1:45 p.m., wanted to order 3 knuckles, and according to the waiter there were no more knuckles. The store opens at 12 p.m. and it wasn't even full. Okay, different food chosen, from goose breast to half duck, schnitzel and venison goulash. When the food came, venison goulash was missing. Beef goulash was needed for this. After some back and forth, we decided we would have the beef goulash. Some of the food was lukewarm and the portions were probably from the children's menu. Complaint to the waiter. What should he do, he can't help it. Great... then we stayed for a few beers. Then the invoice was ordered, upon request because of the discrepancy whether there would at least be a short on the house at the end. The waiter replied with a no and said the boss had forbidden it. Well, that was the last time we were there. A disgrace for a brewery in a prime location. Definitely not recommended.

We registered as a larger group with the food and didn't have to wait long, the waiters had an overview and everything went smoothly.

We admire the atmosphere and want to try. Waited 20 min, asked for an order 4 times and everyone said that they will contact with responsible but we could not give an order. That day was not crowded there is a service problem in restaurant

It was my first time there and I was disappointed 😞. Service was subpar - I think there was a lack of staff, you had to wait a very long time. The food was tasty, but unfortunately cold. An authentic place to experience German cuisine and German beer. Different types of beer are delicious and deserve the highest praise. In the cool season, I prefer dark varieties. The waiters are friendly and fast, despite the large flow of visitors. I want to come back here again and again.

Food was cold or lukewarm. If you said something to the waitress you would only get excuses. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.

A rustic, nice brewery with a nice ambience. Food and drink delicious.

We had a veal schnitzel with potato salad and the crispy pork with sauerkraut. The food is good, traditional and the service was quick. I would not say it was best out of all German food I've tried in Berlin but considering the location it might be good for tourist or people visiting Germany.

The worst restaurant I've been to in Berlin so far. The venison goulash for €27 was a children's portion, see picture. The spaetzle wasn't even homemade. After we complained, we were offered two pretzels that were dried out. Never again.

It's nothing special in food and it's expensive

Birthday dinner with a colleague. Apart from the hall-like atmosphere and the bright lighting, it's a brewery ambience that takes some getting used to (we've been to more rustic, cozy breweries). The original Wiener Schnitzel, the knuckle and the goulash were great, as were the beers of course. The staff present and attentive.

Incredibly good brewery with very good prices and really tasty food. We were there two evenings in a row. It was so good and tasted so good.

There was goulash on the menu. The salad was nice and unspectacular but edible. The dumplings are very small and a bit like they came from a cooking bag. The pork goulash was too salty, too chunky, too spicy and tasted a bit strange, like a spice that none of us could identify. Juniper? The dessert of red jelly with a hint of vanilla sauce was quite boring and full of seeds. Our table was actually only eaten because we were miserably hungry after a day in the government district.

I came here with 7 of my mates, I did book previously but when we had got there we didn’t need to. We all have a fantastic time, great beers and great staff. I’d visit here the next time I’m in Berlin that’s for sure.

This was the worst pork knuckle I have eaten in my life, tough meat and completely tasteless.

Food was excellent! Weiner schnitzel wasn't too dry nor were the portions too big, so we were still able to order dessert. Despite not being a local and haven't eaten enough apple pies to be an expert, but the apple pie eaten here is the best I've had in Berlin. The servers were very friendly and recommended some great beer for us to try out. Would definitely come again.

Tasty snitzel, be sure to check your bill. Without asking, they added €13 in drinking money when paying by card. We were lucky that we saw this.

One of the waiting staff remembered me from being there a year or two ago! A table became immediately available and the beer and food were equally as good as the first visit. The inside of the place is also quite a building in itself. Great place, always good food here.

Great Sunday lunch for the whole family, sitting outside to take advantage of the warm Autumn sunshine getting a view of Franzosischer Dom, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Deutscher Dom. The service was very efficient, beer was excellent and very reasonable pricing for central Berlin. Choice of food was broad, it arrived very quickly, all five different meals at the same time, all served hot (on hot plates) - full marks. Helpings were generous and the whole family enjoyed their meals. On vacation in Berlin this was a great place to eat some German food, with great beer and stunning views. Fully recommended.

In Berlin for a business trip, and we enjoyed our group dinner. Food was spectacular, and the dessert was the best part of the meal. Great service, and great atmosphere.

We called at short notice and were out with 10 people on a Saturday evening. Food perfect and delicious Service friendly and courteous.

Good schweinsnitzel and potato soup was really delicious. Restaurant is in an old building that adds to the atmosphere. Service was acceptable, but could do with a smile.

Directly at the Gendarmenmarkt. Significantly quieter than the Maximilian. The food is at least as good. The service is very attentive. Bavarian dishes. Good beer. Great ambience.

That was just nothing. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Bavarian food. There was no bone in the gravy. The chicken was dry and the skin really wasn't crispy. The liver just wasn't good. The food came so quickly that it was simply reheated. The service was very unfriendly, of course we are in Berlin... But if the service and food can be improved, it is difficult to give a better rating. Any Bavarian restaurant would be ashamed of the quality of the dishes. Exciting energy, the bier was in fact one of the best I had in all of germany. Some waiters were professional, personal and freundnlisch. Some not so much. The Haxe was really good as well as the curry bratwurst with French fries. Ambience was best you could wish for. Too bad we missed our favorite waiter by the time we had finished our meal. He was the distinguished gentleman who greeted us with great hospitality.
