Best restaurant on Heligoland by far. I wasn't feeling well, stomach-wise. I was recommended a very good dinner with tea, and afterwards I felt much better. Thank you 🙏🙏

Fresh and quite tasty, but only a very small selection and the atmosphere is like a snack bar.

We first learned about Lung Wai through an NDR report – and this year we finally decided to try the restaurant. On our previous visits to Heligoland, we'd always just walked by – this time we reserved a table well in advance and received a very friendly welcome. The decor is modern, with a successful mix of atmospheric pictures of historic Heligoland, old postcards, and a discreetly placed Buddha. This creates a pleasant atmosphere – calm yet lively. The service was extremely friendly and gave us good advice on our dish selection. For starters, we had wonton soup, spicy and freshly prepared. We then chose two rice dishes: one with prawns, very spicy but extremely tasty, and one with chicken and cashews – aromatic, well-rounded, and also very good. A visit that was worthwhile – we'll definitely be back.

We've eaten here three times in twelve months. The food has been delicious each time, and the service is friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back again this year. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

July 2025: What a fall! Full of anticipation (see last review), we reserved a table here. The food was a complete disappointment, however, and had little to do with Thai food, rivaling at best a mediocre train station snack bar. The prices were high – and ridiculously high. A €19 appetizer platter must contain more than 8 small fried dumplings and 2 measly satay skewers. The fried rice, for the same price, was a takeaway box with tomatoes (?!). The tofu soup was a bouillon cube soup. A bad joke for €13. I have no idea what's been going on at Lung Wai in recent years. We certainly won't be coming back. The restrooms were clean. 2023: Even though we arrived before 1:00 PM, we were able to sit down and place our order. We received friendly service and our food arrived quickly. It was very tasty and excellent by island standards. Highly recommended!

Very authentic cuisine, excellent dishes without artificial flavor enhancers, freshly prepared with love, and very short wait times, with prompt service. Very friendly and attentive staff. Overall, for anyone who enjoys authentic Thai cuisine, this is well above average! I highly recommend it!

Authentic Asian cuisine. Freshly prepared and delicious, generous portions with a real "aha" flavor experience, especially if you've only ever experienced Asian restaurants with MSG subscriptions. The prices are higher but absolutely reasonable. No vacation on Heligoland is complete without at least one visit to Lung Wai! Keep it up! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very good restaurant. It's a little hidden on a side street, but great. The staff is great, very friendly, Thai 😉, not German. The food was super tasty, the portion was very large. We would eat here again at any time, thank you very much.

Top-notch Thai cuisine. The restaurant was fully booked, and the friendly staff did everything they could to please every guest. Of course, everything took a while, but that's something you're happy to accept. This isn't a fast-food restaurant. The value for money is also very good, and the portions are really generous.

Very good. I even got a vegan version even though it wasn't listed (but that's not possible for all dishes). The same applies here: it's best to reserve in advance.

Simple restaurant. Fast service. I decided on spring rolls and wonton soup. The rolls were very crispy and therefore unfortunately hard. The soup is neutral, I've had better.

The food was very good and plentiful (which is not the case everywhere on Helgoland), the staff was very nice. The price is ok if you take the island surcharge into account. Definitely come back.

A must for every holiday in Heligoland. Duck, red curry, everything is delicious. But you should make a reservation as the shop is full every evening.

The Tom Ka Gai soup was disappointing. I've enjoyed this soup for years and have never had such a bad version. A hot, spiced liquid was served in a small plastic bowl with dry, tough chicken pieces and raw mushroom slices floating on top. The typical milky consistency of this soup - due to the coconut milk - was completely missing. And the rice was also missing. Dear people: a Thai coconut milk soup is not what you are cooking up. The main course was a little better, but we know better Thai cuisine. No. Not a good address.

The egg noodles are very tasty.

We received a friendly welcome, the service was great and we ordered red curry and marsala curry with duck. Both dishes were very tasty and had a tasteful, slightly spiciness. The vegetables were firm to the bite and aromatic. A side dish that was ordered was delivered quickly. The portions were good, and in terms of price I would put it in the middle range. The ambience was clean and so tidy that it almost seemed a bit cool.

My visit to the "Lung Wai Thai" restaurant was a very pleasant experience. The food was delicious and authentic, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and quick, which made our evening very enjoyable. The ambience at "Lung Wai Thai" was cozy and inviting, ideal for a relaxed dinner. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely come back!

I think the staff was very nice and helpful. The food was very tasty. I can recommend everyone to eat here. There is a lot of choice of meat, vegan or vegetarian and the food was ready quickly.

We've eaten here three times in total. Once we reserved a table - which definitely makes sense in high season and on public holidays, and twice we were lucky enough to get a free table. The menu is clear, the food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The decoration is beautiful with the almost weightless looking paper jellyfish hanging from the ceiling. Overall, the restaurant is quite small and very clean and the service was extremely friendly and quick.

We recently ate at Lung Wai when we were on Heligoland. The table was booked for 6:30 p.m. and was freed in good time. Unfortunately, we had a day (Sunday) where the staff was either overwhelmed or significantly understaffed. After 30 minutes we finally had our drinks on the table. After 70 minutes the first dish was delivered. My wife's dish arrived 10 minutes later; I was almost finished by then. We actually wanted to order an appetizer platter; Apparently there were all the ingredients. It's just strange that other guests who arrived well after us were able to order starters again and got them. Other dishes (e.g. Pad Thai) were also no longer available. Well, this saved us around EUR 17. We also saved money by not being asked once during our stay whether we would like a second drink. After asking for payment, we had to wait another 25 minutes until it finally happened. We were out again at 8:20 p.m., so we had spent a total of 110 minutes in Lung Wai. So you definitely have to have time here. The food itself: my dish (red curry) was very tasty and the quantity was okay. My wife's fried noodles (bamee) were also ok overall; In terms of price, however, it is pretty much in the upper class. It would have been nice if the hot sauces were offered to every customer and not just upon request. Overall, the restaurant experience was rather mixed for us, which was mainly due to the long waiting times.

Ehrlich gesagt, in einem Satz, geht woanders essen ! Das Essen ist überteuert, keine Qualität, nur lauwarm. Wir waren zu Viert dort, und alle Gerichte waren nicht gut. Ich hatte gebratene Nudeln mit Garnelen, die Nudeln waren gummiartig und die Garnelen eiskalt. Die Bedienung nahm mir den Teller weg, ohne zu fragen, ob ich schon fertig sei und obwohl die Anderen noch aßen. Sie tat so, als ob sie uns nicht hört oder verstanden hat. Also, überall auf der Insel ist es viel besser, sowas haben wir hier noch nie erlebt.

Discovered in a report by ndr and spontaneously tried it out on a day trip to Helgoland. Unfortunately we only had an hour left to get to the ferry. The recommendation was therefore curry, as it doesn't take long. It also went quickly, the cook was just as nice as in the report and the food was delicious. The price for a portion was okay. After all, you also have to keep in mind that everything really has to be shipped to Helgoland and there aren't staff on every corner.

Wir hatten vormittags noch für den Abend reservieren können, auf Helgoland unbedingt notwendig! Vom ersten Moment an waren alle sehr freundlich, die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm und das Essen - was soll ich sagen - einfach lecker! Wir hatten zwei verschiedene Curry mit Hühnchen, trotz vollem Restaurant toller Service und auch die Preise waren angemessen. Haben uns sehr wohl und vor allem Willkommen gefühlt, viele andere Restaurants auf der Insel lassen da leider sehr zu Wünschen übrig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Convinience für Asienfreunde. Ich war kurz nach der Eröffnung bereits hier, damals hat eine junge Frau richtig toll gekocht. Heute ist das der übliche Asiagrill mit TK-Ware. Sehr enttäuschend!

Das Essen ist war ok. Die Tische sehr klein und alles sehr eng und ungemütlich. Aber wir waren froh, einen freien Restaurantplatz gefunden zu haben.

Ein kleines Restaurant das durch einen Zufall entdeckt habe. Mein Koffer wurde dort abgeben und da Sie im Restaurant sehr freundlich waren, bin ich zum Abendessen vorbei gekommen. Die Gerichte kann ich weiterempfehlen und die Preise sind OK. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Bestes Restaurant auf dem roten Fels. Sehr schöne Karte und sensationelles Essen. Der Service ist der freundlichste auf der ganzen Insel. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert. Ich werde hier bei jedem Besuch vorbei gehen. Danke danke danke dass ihr hier seid.

Das essen war gut, nicht mehr. Leider nicht Thailändisch gewürzt Wer schon mal in Thailand war, weiß das es dort echt leckere und sehr gut gewürzte Essen gibt! Meine Frau und ich waren eben dort essen... einfach nur Klasse das Essen, richtig gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, wir waren super zufrieden.

Wer auf Helgoland mal etwas anderes als ein reines Fisch oder Fleisch Gericht essen möchte ist hier genau richtig! Hervorragendes, frisch zubereitetes Essen in einem Helgoländischem Thai Ambiente eingerichtetem Restaurant. Wir hatten eine Vorspeisenplatte, Pad Pak Rommit und Pad Thai. Da können wir wirklich alles empfehlen! Die Bedienung sehr nett und aufmerksam! Die Preise sind auf Helgolandnivau. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt ist das an Campingbesteck erinnernde Esswerkzeug.

Super leckeres Essen 🤩es war unfassbar lecker 😋 ich komme sehr gerne wieder

Das Essen war lecker und das Ambiente toll. Doch für die Portion Nudeln mit Hähnchen welche kleiner als eine Asiette ist knapp 16 Euro zu verlangen, halte ich für Wucher. Auch die Vorspeise für 2, welche höchstens für eine Person gereicht hat mit 18 Euro abzurechnen, ist sehr schade.

Leider ist der Kaffee aus der Maschine (Vollautomat) eine Katastrophe. Kein Geschmack und keine Farbe. Dafür ist der angebotene Tee richtig gut. Die Herren Toilette ist schon längere Zeit nicht gereinigt worden. Ein Nachweis wird der Reinigung wird auch nicht geführt. Schade eigentlich! Früher war hier das "Lung Wai" (Langer Weg) thailändische Küche wurde angeboten. Heute ist es das Hotel Holgolandia und Gäste der Helgoländer Botschaft werden dort mit Frühstück versorgt.

Die Nudeln waren spitze, auch die Frühlingsrollen, nur das Hühnchen war etwas trocken.

Gutes Essen, einfach mal hin und selbst erleben.
