Isola Bella in Helgoland

Yesterday, Tuesday, at 2:34 p.m., we stood in front of the restaurant... A rope had been pulled up in front of the entrance. A waitress was standing behind it, and we asked the person if it was possible to order pizzas to go. No, they said the kitchen was closed and wouldn't open again until the evening. Opening hours were until 3:00 p.m. Today/Wednesday/6:15 p.m. We wanted a nice Aperol Spritz. Without a reservation, we were seated on the terrace. After some time, the waitress appeared and handed us cards. We thanked her and said we didn't want to eat, but would like to order two Aperol Spritz. We were then told that it was an evening meal, not drinks. We left the restaurant. Conclusion: Three tables upstairs were still free, and all the tables/chairs down by the path were unoccupied. This is not appropriate treatment of a paying guest.

Service: very attentive and friendly Food: generous portions and very tasty. Good selection for vegetarians. Atmosphere: we sat on the terrace with a fantastic view of the sea. You can't ask for more.

We had a lovely spontaneous dinner there. Everything was perfect.

Please be sure to be prepared to wait!!! Starters arrived after about 10 minutes, before drinks, and the main course arrived 1 hour 45 minutes after the starter. The ambiance is nice. Service was so-so. With three servers, you're always referred to a woman, which naturally takes time... You get the feeling that the service and kitchen are overwhelmed by the sheer number of tables. Considering the restaurant next door is also part of the same. The food was okay! It might help to have a waiting list at some point or to point out the wait time. Our table neighbors felt the same.

I don't understand the negative comments here. The food is very, very good. And considering that the restaurant is located on an offshore island, where there are always problems that could cause supplies to be unavailable, the food is sensational. A 12 out of 10. The value for money is also very good. The pizza crust is incredibly fluffy and delicious. So, for me, a 5 out of 5.

We had a pasta dish and a salad. It was very tasty and beautifully presented. However, the bruschetta was questionable in taste and didn't look like it either. The service was also attentive and friendly. We received wool blankets for dinner. 😍 Ambience 😍👍

Good food, great view. We had lunch and enjoyed the view and the food on the terrace. Pizza is very good. The children's portion of pasta is too small. My 4-year-old still wasn't full afterward and stole a salami pizza 🤣

There were five of us here. We ordered one pasta dish, two cannelloni dishes, and two pizzas. The pasta was good, nothing to complain about. The cannelloni portion was more geared toward children; it was really small and didn't fill you up. On top of that, some of them cost more than a pizza. The pizza, on the other hand, was very good, nothing to complain about. Service was okay. At first, one of the employees avoided us. Everyone else around us was served, except us. After 15 minutes, another employee came and served us.

I rarely, if ever, write bad reviews, but I'm making an exception here. Location: Located in the upper town, with a very nice view of the sea. Ambiance: Actually none. Simple tables and chairs, that's it. Comfort factor: Zero. 3 stars solely for the location and the view. Service: I've rarely experienced this. An Asian woman (not meant to sound derogatory in any way) seems to manage the place and also serves the customers. Annoyed face, unfriendly address, shouting in the kitchen. Fancy a quick taste: Ordered a pizza and, no more than 5 seconds later, asked for a little garlic. Response: Order already sent. Food: Ordered pizza and a mixed salad. The pizza wasn't cooked through, and the salad didn't come with dressing. However, there was vinegar and oil on the table, and I was able to mix the "dressing" myself. Conclusion: I know that dining is stressful. But if you can't handle it, you should look for another job.

A wonderful atmosphere with a fantastic view of the sea from Oberland. We had a delicious meal there, and the wine was excellent. Our meal was: Beef fillet on a hot stone & pizza with anchovies. Reservations are absolutely necessary (!) We highly recommend this restaurant!

It was very good and I can only recommend it!

Unfortunately, we were very, very disappointed! We asked if they had a vegetarian pizza to take away, and the waitress said we could easily customize one ourselves. They didn't mention that each ingredient costs a lot extra. When the price for the order was announced (€20! with tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, arugula, and zucchini), we couldn't cancel it, even though we could do so immediately after we asked. The pizza was supposedly shipped, and 20 seconds later, it was no longer cancelable. The high price should have been announced before shipping, or we should have been informed about the additional costs per ingredient! We found their behavior unacceptable. No willingness to compromise, and a rip-off! €20 for a vegetarian pizza instead of €12.80 for a Margarita is outrageous!

We had to wait 1.5 hours for the food. Too long for us. The food was good.

A great restaurant with excellent Italian cuisine. In addition to the standard fare, there are also more unusual Italian dishes, such as tagliatelle with sage salami and cream and anise sauce. The standard dishes (e.g., lasagna) are very tasty. The service is friendly, and we felt at home.

No stars are best... We arrived five minutes before opening time and were turned away... my 75-year-old mother wasn't even allowed to sit down for a moment beforehand. The staff weren't friendly... but there are other restaurants.

After being assigned a seat on the terrace, no service came for about 10 minutes. When one finally did, we were told it was break time and the kitchen was closed. Too bad, we'll spend our money two doors down.

The pizzas are okay, with a thick crust and a tomato sauce reminiscent of ketchup. Relatively expensive, and you need to make a reservation. Service is unfriendly and slow at times.

The food was very bad! 2 out of 15 people finished their meals, while the others were inedible and oversalted. Three meals were returned. The porterhouse steak looked good, but was of very poor quality and tasted unconvincing. The fries and a small, uninspiring salad were barely enough for two people. A real shame and disappointing! The service was okay.

We're on vacation here and have breakfast, which is very generous with everything your heart desires. We also had the pizza Romana here in the evening, which was also very tasty 😋👍

We arrived at this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment... We ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of water with a starter, followed by two main courses. Our drinks arrived, but we had to wait a really long time for our food. All the guests who arrived after us had already eaten by the time our food arrived... I could live with that, but what we got to eat was terrible. The rump steak was raw even though we ordered it medium. My pasta with Gorgonzola and fillet strips was pure water instead of Gorgonzola sauce... We wanted to complain, but we were simply ignored. We didn't even have the opportunity to order drinks. Finally, the waitress finally came and asked if we enjoyed the food. We said no, quite the opposite... She didn't even address our complaint, but simply said that rump steak is tough... There was no real apology, just a friendly smile that made you think you were being taken for a ride. Sorry to have to use that language, but that's how it came across... We were completely out of the mood to argue anyway. pointless... Conclusion: never again just a pure rip-off... so people, better go to Kochlöffel than to a restaurant with utopian prices for food that you can't enjoy

I have to give it one star because the drinks were good. Otherwise, the food was really bad. The rump steak was inedible. The Gorgonzola sauce tasted like snail sauce. When I asked if there were new staff and chefs, I was told a lie. Of course, they never changed. I haven't been here in 1.5 years. Not recommended. Unfortunately

Whatever went wrong there – it was art. So, we thought we'd go for a nice, relaxed meal. Four people, hungry, in a good mood. What we didn't know: We'd apparently booked the live experiment "How much patience does a person really have?" While we sat there, slowly starving, other guests walked in, ordered something to go – bang, the food was there. Gone. And us? Sitting. Waiting. Watching. Waiting some more. At some point, the first pasta arrived. For one person. The rest sat there like they were in the wrong movie. Ten minutes later – pizza number one. Then another seven minutes – the rest. Let's call it a staggered meal plan. The food? Yeah, edible. The pasta was just so… spicy with a warning – if you like spice, you'll be fine. But it wasn't a highlight. The pizzas, on the other hand, were quite edible. Atmosphere? Really chic. That's why they got a star. But the service… phew. Communication is more like B2 German level, the cash register system feels like it's from the Stone Age, and card payments only start at €20 – of course, where do we live? And the best part? No VAT, because it's Heligoland. Jackpot. At least you won't get ripped off by the tax office if you get ripped off. Bottom line: If you ever want to know what it feels like to be hungry, annoyed, and morally broken all at once – welcome. You'll get food here. Someday. Maybe. If the wind is right.

The view was beautiful. The food was also delicious. Unfortunately, the wait was very long. We waited an hour for the food.

During a short three-day trip to Heligoland, we made advance reservations for 10 people at this restaurant by phone. The restaurant is located on the Oberland and offers a beautiful view of the harbor. The ambiance is classic Italian. It was clean and well-maintained. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had pizza and pasta. Highly recommended. One of the waitresses was obviously a bit stressed and unfriendly. An order was taken incorrectly, so someone received the wrong pizza. 4 stars for the good food. With more friendly service, it would have earned 5 stars.

Update July 2025: Extremely long wait, food arrived 30 minutes late, and one of the dishes arrived cold; drinks were forgotten twice. Hell no. ———————————————————————— You can do it, but you don't have to. The seating is okay, but it's rather noisy and not exactly comfortable. The service was probably the biggest downside, along with the tiny portion of bruschetta for the starter, which unfortunately wasn't very tasty either. The service seemed a bit distracted and rude, both when taking our order and during the rest of our evening. I was pleasantly surprised by the tuna salad, which was impressive in terms of both quantity and quality. All in all, it's okay, but nothing more. I would recommend trying to get a table at the Aquarium Restaurant on the Unterland instead.

Disappointment across the board The service at this restaurant is an absolute disaster. The staff barely speak German, making communication extremely difficult. Requests for changes are rejected in a rude and completely inflexible manner. The staff seems overwhelmed and disinterested. The food was mediocre at best – nothing that could make up for the poor service. Unfortunately, I absolutely do not recommend it.

Das erste Mal das ich dort war, war alles super. Heute jedoch das zweite Mal war Katastrophe, Essen war zwar wirklich lecker, die Bedienung hingegen unfreundlich, vergesslich etc. als Beispiel bekommt man im Normalfall hier immer ein kostenloses hausgemachtes Brot vorweg, dies wurde diesmal einfach weggelassen und auf Nachfrage wurde mir irgendein Aldi billig 1m Brot hingelegt. Fand ich schon irgendwie seltsam. Kein bitte, kein Danke von der Bedienung. Nichtmal „einen schönen Tag noch“ oder sowas. Habe bezahlt, kein Beleg erhalten und wurde sozusagen entlassen. Fand ich katastrophal.. 3 Sterne gibts trotzdem da ich beim ersten Mal ja gesehen habe wies richtig geht, da war alles super. Heute jedoch ein absoluter Reinfall. Liegt vielleicht an der heutigen Kellnerin.

I've eaten here several times over the past four years. The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly 😊 the view from the terrace is fantastic. I'd happily recommend it and keep coming back.

Super delicious food. I had targiatelle with gongonzola sauce. Very fresh and flavorful. My partner had a pizza Italia. He also loved it. The view is great, and the service is fast and friendly.

You didn't want a bad review because of the lasagna takeaway? Now there are even more bad reviews. That's not customer service, that's the lowest of the low. If I could give you zero stars, that's it. I wanted to give you another chance, but you blew it.

We spontaneously arrived on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, when it opened at 6 p.m. There were a few people with reservations and many without, and everyone got a table. The waiters on the terrace were very busy, but always friendly, and everything ran within a normal timeframe. First, there's a basket of delicious, hot mini rolls, along with olive oil, salt and pepper, and balsamic vinegar. The food was delicious. Pizza dough could be better, but that's just nitpicking. I thought it was great that I could get a small pizza.

Nach einem Wunderschönen Urlaubstag auf Helgoland wollten wir den Abend schön ausklingen lassen und entschieden uns für dieses Restaurant. Schon bei der Anmeldung am Tresen ( Wir hatten vorher reserviert) wurden wir von einer ziemlich sturen Bedienung zu unserem Tisch gebracht. Nachdem wir das Essen bestellt hatten, mussten wir wirklich nicht lange auf das Essen warten. Leider war der Pizzateig nicht wirklich durch. Es kam während des Essens niemand der fragte, wie uns das Essen schmeckt oder ob wir noch einen Wunsch hätten. Deswegen war Eigeninitiative gefragt (Leere Gläser..). Einer aus unserer Runde stand auf, hob kurz die Hand. Darauf antwortete einer der Angestellten (kleine Person um die 50 mit Brille) im wohl gemerkt unfreundlichen gar patzigen Ton in 10 Metern Entfernung "Jaaaa ?!" . Wir fragten freundlich ob wir zusätzliche Getränke bestellen können. Daraufhin rief sie aus 10 Metern Entfernung im patzig genervten Ton ein "Okaayyy" zurück. Dies hat uns ziemlich den wunderschönen Tag vermiest. Uns ist bewusst das man es als Angestellter in der Gastronomie nicht gerade einfach hat, aber es schadet weiß Gott nicht ein wenig mehr Freundlichkeit gegenüber den zahlenden Gästen zum Vorschein zu bringen.

Catastrophe!!! Zero stars is unfortunately not possible. I cannot understand the good reviews. Either the chef was on vacation and the cleaning lady cooked, worst Italian restaurant, if you can even say that, it has nothing to do with Italian food, it would be an insult to Italian cuisine. I thought you couldn't go wrong with drinks. But it's okay! Beer was OK, but my cherry juice... tasted like dishwater, not a hint of cherry, more of a light cola taste. It was black, like cola. The waiter said it was cherry juice, just a different kind, hello? Are you kidding me? I thought OK, move on, food, starter: salad. It hadn't been washed, we were chewing on dirt and stones, such a bad salad, never had one. Main course: pasta with tomato sauce. It couldn't get any worse, but it's okay. No seasoning, tasted like it had been heated from a can. The meat was cold. The rolls that came with it were the only edible thing. Service was catastrophic, every complaint was met with indifference or annoyance. We actually wanted to leave, but unfortunately the island was very busy and all the restaurants were full. We had to return the food, but unfortunately we still had to pay the full price, what a disgrace. And? We weren't the only ones: there were 6 people at the table next to us, one guest said it was okay, the rest: one person's pizza dough was still raw, the other had a dirty salad with stones, and the pasta was hard and unseasoned, and the rest was inedible. Please, please 🙏 don't go here, there's another Italian restaurant in the lowlands that's better. This restaurant doesn't belong on Heligoland, it should be in the sea off the coast! You should be ashamed of serving guests like this. Unfriendly, rude staff, please replace them! Never again!

So, we arrived on Heligoland by catamaran on June 5, 1925, around 1 p.m. We then went for a walk to the Lummenfels and the Lange Anna. We were hungry, so we went to the restaurant where they were still serving guests. Then the waitress rudely told us the kitchen was closed until 5 p.m. What kind of behavior is that to the guests, who are limited in time, since the catamaran departs again at 5 p.m.? So, I can say, no, thank you, never again. The view of the city was good.

The broken lamp and the "flower arrangement" say it all about our visit tonight. There were five of us, two of whom arrived later. A table was reserved for 6 p.m. by email weeks ago and promptly and kindly confirmed. Arriving here today, we were rudely told that we had to be ready by 8 p.m. because the table would be reassigned. Table 11 was reserved for us – that was the first thing the "server," who didn't speak German very well, didn't quite understand from her colleague. And then the drama of tonight began. My inquiry as to whether the red wine was chilled – as in previous years (where, incidentally, we were always very satisfied, both in terms of taste and price, which is why the restaurant was part of our vacation every year) – was answered with a "yes," so I ordered a rosé. I received a cold red wine, which I complained about, and was then rudely slammed the rosé I had ordered on the table. Before the drinks, the bread basket arrived, containing a limited number of rolls without any spread, along with a plate for three. (Note: The menu clearly states that the first bread basket is free, and each additional basket would be charged €4.) Since two of us were running late, the three of us ordered the appetizer, whereupon we were told that she would like to eat everything together. The appetizer eventually arrived (bruschetta), but only one plate; she took the other one back (I still had one full of oil and salt from the rolls...). Our two husbands arrived, and we quickly ordered two soups and the child's meal. One soup and cold water-dead spaghetti arrived. The other soup arrived 20 minutes later, upon request – but then the bread for both soups was included. The main course – pasta – was completely oversalted, the meat was tough, and the pasta was cooked far too long – €25.90! The menu featured beef fillet in Gorgonzola sauce with tomatoes and mushrooms – the dish also included plenty of overcooked zucchini slices at no extra charge! The wheat beer we ordered was non-alcoholic, even though we'd ordered something else. It was warm, though. When we asked, an empty beer bottle was slammed down on the table to prove it was the right beer, but the wrong glass had been used. Just before 8 p.m. – we'd had enough (including our nerves) – we were told we could have our table longer. Thank you very much. NEVER again here. Far too expensive for poor quality and terrible service, plus it was very loud and the atmosphere was bad. But they can do whatever they want – at any price. People will come anyway...

Small meals at big prices. The service tone is like that of a fast-food restaurant. Olive oil on the table is on the verge of expiration!

While looking for a restaurant, we called and got a table for SIX. We were warned there would be a long wait, but it was actually quite quick. Six different dishes – and six enthusiastic guests! GOOD CHOICE!

The staff was nice, but the lasagna we ordered wasn't worthy of an Italian restaurant. While visually appealing, it was unfortunately only warm to slightly hot in some places. Often, it was simply cold. It was like microwaved food that wasn't heated properly. A real shame. We spent a few days on the island and visited various restaurants – all of them were significantly better.

It took a good 10 minutes before I could place my order. The staff seemed a bit chaotic. The food was fine.

Delicious appetizers and pizza, great views and above all: attentive and fast service. As day tourists, we were able to take a leisurely break without being stressed about time.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. The food was average for an Italian: Of course, steak on the hot stone has a nice effect, the pasta was good, the pizza unfortunately only at the standard delivery service level. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed and simply couldn't keep up with the full house. An unannounced waiting time of 1.5 hours for the starter is unacceptable. Information must be provided at the latest when ordering so that you with two children have the opportunity to react (pack up, pick up, cancel, etc.). The surrounding tables also waited at least 60 minutes. After around 80 minutes and only upon request, we received the bread basket announced on the menu (four slices of dry baguette), and the food was served at around 8:45 p.m., with a reservation at 7:15 p.m. Forgetting the shrimp announced on the menu with the starter soup for >€10 is already dillante. Even after the meal, another whole hour and only a few guests left, no questions asked whether something was missing, whether it was tasty, or whether you would like to drink something else or perhaps pay. Full understanding of a full house and lack of staff. But unfortunately this was nothing, with all the goodwill I can muster.

The pasta and lasagne were really tasty, the pizza was ok. But the waiting time for the food was really terrible and you could have at least informed the service that it was taking time. This should be possible despite a full house.

We were here on May 1st, 2025. We got a table for four people. Placed order and waited about 1.5 hours. Now you might think, well, why are we waiting so long? It's not always so easy on Heligoland to "get" seats in a restaurant, especially during public holidays and island events (marathons). So we were happy to have found something here. But the waiting time was unbearable and the staff didn't appease us. Food was mediocre in my opinion, I've had much better pizza, but it was big and hot. By the way, we weren't the only ones who had to endure the long waiting time. We also had to be patient at the neighboring table, also with four people. It may also be counterproductive to supply two adjacent restaurants from one kitchen. After we finished eating we got drinks on the house. Unfortunately, we weren't asked what we would like to drink. So we were given two beers and two red wines. Until then, people drank seltzer, beer and white Lambrusco. A look at the order would have been enough. Overall, we wouldn't come here again.

The pizzas were very tasty 😋. If you like pizza you should come here. Unfortunately, since we had pizza to go, I can't say more.

The view from the terrace to the dune island is worth lingering in itself. When the weather is nice it's a dream 🌞. A bit cramped inside and when the food is lit at the table (a highlight by the way), there is little oxygen in the place😁. The staff is very nice, helpful, friendly and attentive. The food is also high quality and delicious. I would definitely like to come back here the next time I visit Helgoland.

The portions are rather small. We then ordered a pizza to take away and that took ages. A little competition would be good for the restaurant.

…. auch die 3 Punkte sind geschmeichelt…. Reserviert hatte ich bereits vor 10 Tagen, aber meine Reservierung stand nicht im Computer. Ist das mein Problem??? Nach längerer Diskussion bekamen wir dann doch einen Tisch. Den Katzentisch wollten wir nicht - nach weiterer Diskussion bekamen wir einen anderen. Der Tisch und die Aussicht waren dann sehr schön. Unsere „Garnelenvorspeise“ war komplett anders als erwartet. Wenige geschmacksneutrale Garnelen; viel preisgünstiges Gemüse - als Vorspeise ganz schön teuer…. Hauptgericht Pizza und Calzone. Unter der Calzone Käse ausgelaufen und verbrannt. Naja - alles in allem gerade so ausreichend. Was wir am schlimmsten empfanden…. Man gab uns überhaupt nicht das Gefühl, ein willkommener Gast zu sein…!?

Went here on a Monday in the off season as it was one of the few restaurants that was open and we didn't regret it. Great food and after we had unfortunately attacked the bread basket beforehand, it was too much ;-)

Okay, im Februar hat man auf Helgoland keine große gastronomische Auswahl, aber höflich darf man sich seinen Gästen gegenüber trotzdem verhalten. Wir entschieden uns für die Pizzaria, weil wir hier vor zwei Jahren ganz gut gegessen hatten. Hineingelockt durch die Leckereien, die der Aufsteller vor der Tür anpries, traten wir ein. Nein, wir hatten nicht reserviert. Gnädigerweise wurde uns ein kleiner Tisch in einer Ecke zugewiesen - nicht ohne uns wissen zu lassen, dass wir enormes Glück gehabt hatten und gefälligst das nächste Mal reservieren sollten. Wir bekamen Brot - wie nett, aber mal ehrlich: selbstgebacken?! Ein Töpfchen enthielt eine braune Masse. Schmalz? Fleischhaltig? Vegetarisch? Wir wurden nicht aufgeklärt… Wir schauten in die Karte. Doch nichts überzeugte mich so wie die draußen angepriesenen Speisen. Allerdings - und wieso war mir armer Irren eigentlich nicht dieselbe Idee gekommen! - war das die Sommerkarte! Das gab es nicht! Basta. Hätte ich jetzt vermutet, dass mir eine ähnliche Alternative aus der aktuellen Karte angeboten wurde - Fehlanzeige. Auf meine Frage, ob der (preislich recht hohe) Ziegenkäse eine Vorspeise sei, erhielt ich die schnippische Erwiderung, dass das doch immer eine Vorspeise sei! Was diesen Ziegenkäse von der Winterkarte nun aber von der (ausdrücklich als solchen deklarieren) Ziegenkäse-Vorspeise der regulären Karte unterschied, konnte mir nicht erklärt werden. Das Essen kam. Es sah hübsch aus, schmeckte aber leider fade. Honig und Walnüsse übertrumpften den Ziegenkäse, der die Größe meiner flachen Hand entsprach. Die Pizza meiner Freundin schmeckte langweilig, der Teig war eher trocken als kompakt. Schade. Dabei ist es doch nicht so schwer, einfach ein bisschen Kundenfreundlichkeit zu zeigen. P.S.: Wir waren nicht die einzigen Gäste, die durch das Angebot im Aufsteller ins Restaurant gelockt wurden… Aus dem Klickrahmen hätte man das Plakat bestimmt schnell herausnehmen/austauschen können. Ein Schuft, der Böses dabei denkt …

We were here for dinner on Friday. Very nice staff, a nice little starter (warm little rolls and a kind of greaves). We had pizza, very hot and with great toppings. Went there again a day later (reservations recommended, the store is always full). The steak and pasta were also very, very good, hot and sufficient. We'll definitely come back.

Reservations are helpful, otherwise you may not get a seat. Food was totally delicious again. Whether pizza or spaghetti, very good. Service could be a bit more attentive. I've been to the restaurant many times and it's always good.

We ordered a table for 8 people and got two tables for four next to each other. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to push them together. This is absolutely not possible. The service seemed disinterested and listless. We had to wait 2 hours for the food, and the children's meals we ordered earlier also took over an hour. A bread basket was only given after the third time asking. The food itself was quite tasty.

Wir waren zu viert in dem Restaurant mit sehr schönen Ausblick der sich nach und nach verdüsterte nach dem wir die Speisen bekamen. Zuerst ein billiges Olivenöl mit schmackhaften Brot. Welches das einige Kulinarische des Abends war, Dann kam unser Bestellung "Schwarze Tagliatelle mit Krabben, Kniper, getrockneten Tomaten und Zucchini sein. Diese Beschreibung lässt auf einen kulinarischen Genuss schließen. Es wurden Teller mit einer undefinierbaren, schwarzen Masse serviert. Die einzelnen Zutaten waren nicht mehr erkennbar und die Nudeln hatten sich in breiiger Konsistenz aufgelöst und vermischten sich mit den übrigen, breiigen Zutaten. Das muss man schaffen so etwas so hinzubekommen. Als kulinarische Komposition wurde der Teller mit einer Rispe roter Johannisbeeren als farblicher Akzent garniert. Es kann angenommen werden, dass die Küche davon ausgeht, älteren Menschen das Speisen zu erleichtern. Dies lässt sich dadurch erklären, dass sich die Haupttouristen jenseits der 60 Jahre befinden. Es sei darauf verwiesen, ,dass genau das Klientel die sind, die das Geld auf die Insel bringen Zudem über ein ausgeprägtes Wissen bezüglich guter Küche verfügen. Des Weiteren ist davon auszugehen, dass den Verantwortlichen bekannt ist, dass Nudeln al dente zuzubereiten und zu servieren sind.Wir gaben unsere vollen Teller zurück die kommentarlos ohne Fragen „hat es geschmeckt, oder gab es ein Problem „ abgeräumt wurden. Es scheint für das Personal selbstverständlich zu sein, dass ältere Herrschaften nicht so viel Nahrung benötigen. Daher wurde auch die Rückgabe der vollen Teller ohne weitere Nachfrage akzeptiert. Man kann sich vieles schön reden doch das nicht. Auch nicht das Gesicht der Bedienung, das sich nach einer Bestellung von Grappa versteinerte, weil sie nicht wusste, was der Gast wünschte und den Chef nachfragen musste, Wir möchten anmerken, dass wir ebenfalls der Generation 70+ angehören.

Let's start with the positive. The view from Oberland is fantastic. Unfortunately, it almost ends here... The food was swimming in fat, the price for the wine was higher than stated on the menu (when asked about this, the waitress just shrugged her shoulders). Only one of the various waitresses could/was allowed to take orders and collect them, so all processes took a very long time. The other employees kept referring to this one waitress, while they themselves were only allowed to carry bread baskets and glasses/plates. Generally very snippy staff. Not worth a second visit, it was actually the only restaurant where some tables could be given out without a reservation in the last few days while we were there. Obviously because of the defects. Too bad.

Went to the restaurant today around 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the older waitress seemed a bit listless right from the start. The Spaghetti Bolognese had little in common with a real bolo, had an unusual spiciness and the whole peppercorns that you had to bite on did the rest. After my companion asked the waitress for some water for the dog, she was unsure in a harsh tone whether this was still possible - they were about to close (2:40 p.m.), but reluctantly gave a bowl of water anyway. The door to the toilet was locked with the key in it, and another customer was equally confused as to whether it could be easily unlocked. The waitress came rudely around the corner and said uncomprehendingly that the door was open (no) and unlocked it in annoyance. Back at my seat (2:50 p.m.) I drank the last few puffs of my Aperol. The waitress emphasized again that they were closing and my companion pointed out When asked about the opening times until 3 p.m. they said “No NOW”. Rarely experienced such bad service! Maybe you can afford it in a tourist restaurant. impudence.

Everything perfect again. Great cuisine and the service cannot be surpassed in terms of friendliness.

Lucky to get a reservation on the same day, we visited this restaurant yesterday. The food was excellent, a compliment to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the waiting times for the food ordered are very, very long. We think it has something to do with the fact that... Unfortunately, there is generally a staff shortage in the catering industry. Very, very unfortunate

Just arrived on Heligoland, unpacked the suitcases and slightly thirsty. A customer catcher advertises delicious Italian beer here. However, it was clearly and unequivocally explained to us that if we don't eat food, we won't get anything to drink. Thank you for that.

Food great! Service was a flop 👎 We were totally forgotten. Guests who arrived a long time after us received their orders after 10 minutes and we had to wait over 45 minutes. No good hospitality, no demand, no way to bridge the time (e.g. bread), no communication. We had a day trip to the island which meant we lost over half the time which really upset us. After our food finally came, we really enjoyed it and it was great value for money! When paying, same game I had to go in and force myself to pay - there was no tip! I would like to visit the restaurant again because I liked the food and the ambience so much. However, I will then give fire to the service - which I find terrible having to be like that in order to be properly served.

Not recommendable. After 1.45 hours, only 2 of the 3 meals we ordered came. It wasn't said that it would take longer. After 2 ate, we left the restaurant after paying and will never visit it again.

Reserved a table a few days in advance. Since we have a small dog with us in a quiet corner. The waitress confirmed this table and the reservation was entered into the PC in our presence. When we arrived there in the evening, we were supposed to sit at a table in the middle, even though the table that had actually been reserved for us was still free. Apparently the table had been reserved for someone else. Strange! Since we didn't want to put ourselves through the stress of dealing with a young, sensitive dog in the middle of the hustle and bustle, we left again. It would be nice if promises were kept. We won't be making another attempt this holiday, as there are other restaurants too. Apparently this is not necessary in the summer.

Unfriendly service and bad Aperol Spritz. We waited for food at 1:15 a.m. Two stars because of the beautiful view.

Unfortunately you can't give minus points here. So I don't know where to start. 3 people, 1 of whom was friendly until we had a small comment. The other two were constantly unfriendly. Cola was stale. Luckily I got a second one. We waited a good 30 minutes until someone came to get drinks. Where we also ordered food. Children's portion of pasta with ham and cream sauce wasn't available as a normal portion, so you should order a double children's portion, but the children's portion is only valid up to 12 years 🙄 I have to say it was well attended BUT not that you had to wait that long . It took another hour until we got the food... The food was quite ok. The Bolognese sauce was totally weak. Well, overall -3 points.👎And I'm an expert myself, I know what it means to work in a restaurant. If I worked like that, I would lose my job.

Nice Italian in the Oberland. Very good options to sit outside and enjoy the sea and dune views. Service staff are very polite. Good selection on the menu and fair prices.

We waited over an hour for pasta and a pizza. In my opinion that is unacceptable. Drinks arrived quickly and were very good. The free bread basket was also nice. When the food finally came, the pasta dish was swimming in oil and there were only a few noodles anyway. Not recommended for the price. The pizza was also very greasy and the dough wasn't crispy. Way too thick for an Italian pizza. A disappointment for the price. We won't be coming back.

I go to Helgoland twice a year and love eating here. Particularly beautiful view in the evening

Wir hatten reserviert und waren nahezu als Erste nach Öffnung um 18 Uhr im Restaurant. Auf eine Pizza Margherita haben wir dann eine Stunde gewartet. Zwei von drei Essen (Pasta) kamen sogar vor der Pizza. Essen war Durchschnittlich. Zwei der drei Gerichte hätten besser sein können. Meiner Frau hat es aber geschmeckt. Insgesamt keine Empfehlung.

zwei von zwei Nudelgerichten (Spaghetti aglio, olio, peperoncini und tagliatelle gorgonzola) waren geschmacklich völlig daneben. Die Spaghetti waren nicht frisch gekocht, sie waren nicht al dente, sondern offenbar in der Pfanne neu erhitzt bzw angeröstet Das Olivenöl schmeckte seifig. Bei den Tagliatelle gorgonzola konnte man den Gorgonzola kaum erahnen. Nach uns kam eine einzelne Dame und bekam keinen Tisch für sich alleine. Begründung : „alleine geht nicht. Bitte sitzen bei zwei Hamburger dann drei Person“

Complete catastrophe Table ordered long in advance. Then get the cat table by the toilet. You can still accept that, even though other, better tables remained free the entire time we were there. The aperitif and starter arrived quickly, but then the disaster began. The main course came almost an hour later. Tables around us received their food much more quickly. When the main course came, it was the wrong one. The waitress immediately took it back and brought it back to the kitchen without giving us the chance to use it as an alternative. We then shared my main course so as not to let it get cold. Then the waitress came with my wife's main course. Unfortunately wrong again, as normal tagiatelle was served instead of black. Since we had now waited over an hour, we declined to try again. The waitress apologized, but nothing further came. Never an espresso or grappa, which would have been the least you could do for a dirty evening. We had a second reservation, which we canceled due to this experience. There was no reaction to this either. Apparently there is no need to bother with the guests here.

Very courteous staff...delicious pizza and wine...and the view...a dream! And at fair prices. Always happy!
