Ein schönes Restaurant zum guten Preis. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Das Schnitzel hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Am Ende gab es dann noch einen Schnaps aufs Haus. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr leckeres Essen. Wir haben etwas auf das Essen warten müssen, wurde uns aber auch gleich angekündigt, aber das warten hat sich gelohnt! Es war köstlich. 😋

Super netten Kellner, immer gerne wieder. Das Essen kam schnell und war echt lecker, mitsamt dem Kümmel hinterher, immer gerne wieder.

Kann ich sehr empfehlen. Ich habe dort sehr gut zu Abend gegessen.

Dauerhaft keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Es hängt immer ein Schild aus "heute" keine Kartenzahlung möglich, aber das hängt seit Jahren. Begrüßung sehr unfreundlich. Man muss durchs ganze Lokal brüllen, dass man eine Reservierung hat, statt an der Tür in Empfang genommen zu werden. Essen war nicht gut. Alles aus der Friteuse. Selbst die Bratkartoffeln kommen aus der Friteuse und waren innen noch roh. Beim Schnitzel mit Pommes ist nicht einmal ein Beilagensalat dabei. Dafür aber recht teuer und klein. Den zweiten Stern in der Bewertung gibt es nur, weil es einen Schnaps aufs Haus gab. Ich würde dort nicht mehr essen.

Hier waren wir wirklich enttäuscht. Hier ist es überhaupt nicht stimmig. Wir hatten rechtzeitig einen Tisch bestellt und dieser war auch für uns reserviert. Das Ambiente war nicht schön. Glitzerkugeln und Eulen und andere nicht maritime Deko zieren das Lokal. Das Laminat auf dem Fußboden ist schon soweit auseinander geschoben, dass sich große Fugen gebildet haben. Unter einem Tisch war ein Stück Teppich verlegt, wahrscheinlich sind die Fugen hier noch größer oder es gibt was anderes zu verbergen. Die Speisekarte ist ein Durcheinander und hat uns nicht überzeugt, z.B Schollenfilet auf Raumspinat und Bratkartoffeln. Wir haben uns für einen Salat mit Hähnchenbrust entschieden. Der Salat bestand aus Eisberg, zwei Scheiben Tomaten und etwas Gurke. Keine Paprika, keine Zwiebel, kein Radieschen nichts anderes und das im Sommer wo es alles gibt. Das Hühnchen war frisch und reichhaltig. Das hausgemachte Dressing war eine schwere weiße Sauce. Vermutlich Remoulade und Knobisauce gemischt. Wir waren enttäuscht. Die Preise sind für diesen Laden hoch. Wir sind uns dessen schon bewusst, dass wir auf einer Insel waren und alles hierhet gebracht werden muss, aber wir haben den Vergleich zu anderer Gastronomie machen dürfen. Es geht deutlich besser bei ähnlichen Preisen. Besucher, die nicht reserviert hatten wurden von der Inhaberin ganz barsch abgewiesen. Keine netten Worte, dass es leider nicht klappt und man nächstes Mal bitte reservieren sille. Also der Laden hat schon genug Zuspruch, es kommen genug Gäste. Der junge Mann, der uns bedient hat, war sehr nett und freundlich. Fazit, schade dass der Laden nicht etwas hergerichtet wurde, bevor die Saison begonnen hat. Schade, dass wir nicht wieder gegangen sind und nur unsere Getränke bezahlt haben.

Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr leckeres Essen

Unser Besuch im Zum Seehund war leider insgesamt enttäuschend. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir lediglich den jungen rothaarigen Kellner, der sich sichtbar bemüht hat, freundlich und aufmerksam zu sein. Der übrige Service hingegen war mehr als unfreundlich und teilweise regelrecht unverschämt. Man hatte eher das Gefühl zu stören, statt als Gast willkommen zu sein. So verscheucht man Gäste leider eher, als dass man sie zum Wiederkommen bewegt. Das Essen war zudem lediglich durchschnittlich und konnte den schlechten Eindruck des Services nicht ausgleichen. Schade, denn das Restaurant hätte eigentlich Potenzial.

Wir waren vor ein paar Tagen im Seehund essen. Der Empfang war nett und freundlich. Das Essen war auch ok. Aber wir hatten gerade das Besteck abgelegt weil wir fertig waren mit essen. Da wurden uns der Teller weg genommen, gefragt ob wir einen Schnaps aufs Haus möchten. Und gleich wurde drauf hingewiesen das die Kollegin mit der Rechnung kommen würde. Es klang irgendwie nach einem Rausschmiss. Vielleicht hätten wir ja noch ein Dessert bestellen wollen aber das wäre wohl nicht mehr möglich gewesen Sehr schade

Essen frisch zubereitet und lecker. Allerdings lange Wartezeit. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut. Etwas beengt - wohl Helgoland-typisch. Empfehlenswert!

Hat uns sehr gefallen, gutes Essen sehr freundliche Bedienung

Tolles Ambiente und sehr nette Bedienung. Man fühlt sich als Gast sehr wohl. Das Essen schmeckt vorzüglich und ist preislich angemessen.

Kommen seit zig Jahren zum Essen dorthin, immer wieder lecker und sympathische Inhaberin! Hunde sind immer willkommen. Ich wurde 40 und deswegen musste dort gegessen werden. Leider kein Glückwunsch, wurde wohl vergessen. Fand ich etwas schade, gerade zum runden Geburtstag. Wurde telefonisch vorher mitgeteilt. Klasse SchnitzelGerichte, Preis Leistung auch gut. Unbedingt vorher reservieren! Die neue? Bedienung könnte allerdings etwas freundlicher sein. Dennoch alles in allem top!

Ein wirklich sehr nettes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen und freundlicher Bedienung. Preise sind absolut fair. Reservierung wird empfohlen, ging für uns jedoch auch ohne.

Tolles Essen nettes Personal gerne wieder

Wirklich schlecht, unglaublich schlecht. Wir warteten 30 Minuten, bevor überhaupt unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Dann dauerte es weitere 30 Minuten, bis die Hälfte unserer Gruppe ihr Essen und ihre Getränke bekam. Jedes andere Restaurant ist besser.

Tisch für zwei um 19:00 Uhr . Bestellt, Essen bekommen, es war okay, schlicht und etwas phantasieloser Salat mit Garnelen und 2 Garnelenspieße. Dann kam lange keine Bedienung und als wir um 20:20 Nachtisch bestellen wollten, bekamen wir die Information, die Küche ist schon geschlossen und als Tipp: Sie können morgen gerne Wiederkommen. Mit Sicherheit nicht!

Ein tolles kleines Restaurant im Oberland mit leckerem und sehr reichhaltigem Essen. Das Schnitzel war wirklich gut und mehr als genug, eine Vorspeise wäre für mich zuviel gewesen. Das Lokal und der Service sind besonders und haben einen ganz eigenen Charme, bitte unbedingt so bleiben. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Um einen Tisch zu bekommen, sollte man unbedingt vorbestellen und auch etwas Zeit mitbringen. Aber wenn die Schiffe weg sind, hat man davon jede Menge. Es lohnt sich.

Nachdem man nach 45 Min. fragte wann denn wohl das Essen kommt,,,, kam vom Kellner glatt die Frage ob die Frage ernst gemein ist, dann kam heute noch. Nach 1Std.10 Minuten kam es dann. Personal unfreundlich, Essen übersichtlich und nichts besonderes.

Uriges Ambiente der 80iger/90iger, sportliche Leuchtenverkabelung. Nettes Personal, stellt euch auf etwas Wartezeit ein, dann gibts 1a Essen. Hat uns gut gefallen!

Very friendly staff, and the food was really good. Unfortunately, you have to wait about an hour for your food. If you can accept that wait, you won't be disappointed.

Old shed, renovation is necessary

The food was okay. However, it took an hour to be delivered. Payment by card is only possible with a card, not via mobile! It's advisable to make a reservation in advance. There are much better options in the Oberland region.

We spontaneously asked if there was a table for two, and we were very happy to find one. The food was delicious and plentiful. The drinks came quickly, and there were no long waits. If we ever come to Heligoland again, we'll definitely be your guests again.

The food was good, but I've had better schnitzels. A grade of B, so really not bad. What was missing was some salad. The view was obscured by houses. It was in the middle of town. The owners (I think) were very, very nice. I'll be back, and with more salad, it'll get 5 stars. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 😄

Unfriendly and arrogant! We were there earlier with seven people...after asking for seats, we were turned away in an unfriendly and arrogant manner. Not recommended!

The food was super delicious and the portions were generous. The service was very friendly and attentive; we felt very comfortable throughout.

Very attentive service (the owner?). The food and drinks arrived very quickly. The food is a bit cheaper than the island average, but no less good. As we left, we were given a free shot of schnapps and wine gums for the kids.

We ordered the Jägerschnitzel with fries. It was delicious and plentiful. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Das geht besser - in jeder Hinsicht. Wir waren zu viert am Pfingstwochenende im Seehund essen und empfanden sowohl den Service als auch die Speisen als bestenfalls durchschnittlich. Ein paar Fotos vom "heimeligen" Ambiente im Inneren beschreibt das gesamte Restaurant recht ordentlich. Overtourism geht nicht nur zu Lasten der Einheimischen wie man bei dem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis gut sehen kann.

We waited an hour for the soup. They offered pillows to the people next to us, but we didn't have any (we were sitting there longer). When paying, it turned out that you couldn't pay with a card from your phone, only with a physical one, but they don't accept physical Visas. It was a disaster. The only positive was the good soup.

Some of us had to wait over 40 minutes for our food. It was so sad.

Nice restaurant, great food, but the kitchen seems to have problems with large groups. It takes time.

Yesterday, after making a reservation by phone, we had a very good meal at Seehund. Two schnitzels and one plaice fillet. It was fantastic. And since it was, we asked if we could get a table for today. It worked out. Today we had chicken breast, pork medallions, and cod fillet. Again, top notch. Absolutely excellent value for money. The service was "friendly and boyish," just the way we like it. We look forward to coming back next year. The Seehund is a must.

The youngest of the waitresses was a real nuisance. Unfriendly, rude, and threw the menu and beer mats at us. The food was good!

We had a table at 6 p.m. The food arrived at 6:50 p.m. – which wasn't a big deal. Until then, however, not even a single drink had been ordered. We ate, and the food was okay. At 7:20 p.m., we considered checking the menu again for dessert. Without asking or hinting, the waitress, who had been extremely friendly from the start, came and brought the bill. We were a bit speechless and felt quite overwhelmed. So we couldn't have even finished an appetizer, and we didn't have a chance to try dessert. We knew that the tables were double-booked. But we didn't know that you only have 1.5 hours at the table, but the food wouldn't arrive for almost an hour.

We had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. Tables that came after us got their food first, and when we asked, we were yelled at. The food was good, though.

We had a reservation for 6pm. The waitress threw the menu on the table. We ordered scampi. They were delicious. Then the waitress asked if we wanted schnapps on the house. Since we don't like spirits, we declined. We did want a dessert. The girl grumbled that there was no dessert that evening. When we paid the owner, I said that it was a shame that there was no dessert. She replied that there was, but that she wanted to give our table to someone else. We didn't sit here long and they could have said that the table had to be free at 7.30pm or something. I find this scandalous. The ladies next to us were also shocked by the girl's behavior.

Het eten was wel lekker ( scampi’s), maar de bediening…. De kaart werd naar ons gegooid. Het meisje was op de rand van onbeleefd. We kregen geen dessert omdat ze onze tafel wilden geven aan iemand anders! We hadden nochtans gereserveerd.

Great croquettes, homemade. Top food, no matter what is on the table. Clear recommendation. We have already ordered the table for June 😋💚

Lots of friendly people, good service and delicious food in a simple restaurant atmosphere can be purchased here😉. It's a bit small and cramped, but all in all it's clean and the food is perfectly fine for the price. The delicious caraway schnapps at the end clears your stomach and afterwards a digestive walk to the Lange Anna is recommended.

Schnitzel Pear Helene was nothing special. Unfortunately, the side salad doesn't do anything either. Ambience seems cheap and old-fashioned. But the service is very nice and attentive. You can go here on a budget - but you don't have to.

A nice restaurant with very friendly staff and large portions, which is also open in winter. As a vegetarian, you can simply ask and you will be suggested different dishes or you can put something together yourself.

Das Angebot war für uns gut, die Menge reichlich, der Geschmack vorzüglich, die Bedienung aufmerksam. Bestellt wurden Pannfisch und Schweinelende. Leider sind zu dieser Zeit fast keine Restaurants geöffnet, hier aber war es ein angenehmes Erleben.

We didn't have a reservation, but we were assigned a good table... the place's rustic charm is something in between a restaurant and a pub. The waitress, a young girl, was a bit shy... the food was good, the price was reasonable .

I have never experienced this. The waiter seated us, but after 20 minutes of waiting for the menu, another lady from the bar came and threw us out. When we were about to leave, the first attendant seated us again. We waited another 10 minutes for menus and then left. I do not recommend.

Worst experience on the island. The lady sat us at a table to wait 20 minutes for the other lady to kick us out. Then she sat us back down and we waited another 10 minutes. We didn't even get a menu. So we left. I can't rate the food, but no one has kicked me out of a restaurant yet. I do not recommend.

Once again on Helgoland with the regulars' table and of course at the Seehund dinner. A perfect rump steak!

Unfortunately, our visit to the Seehund really disappointed us. We had ordered two dishes, a vegetarian vegetable casserole and a pane fillet. The fish dish was okay, but the "casserole" was unfortunately only butter vegetables and when we asked, the waitress said that the dish was what we ordered After asking again, we were charged for the vegetable pan, but for two dishes, one of which was just butter vegetables, €50 was really too much. We were actually really happy, but unfortunately that was real a disappointment

Highly recommended! Large portions, good price. An older lady and an old gentleman do everything on their own at the front. Even though there were a lot of people there, it went relatively quickly.

Yep. Can you go there? Well, we waited longer for the bill than for the food, but luckily we had nothing else planned. 🙈 Food was rather average.

Saturday evening on the island - spontaneously and without planning it was difficult to find a place to eat... We spontaneously stayed at the Seehund. Food completely OK, good home cooking. The place was full, but we got our drinks quickly. Waiting time until the delicious soup is also OK.

A super cozy restaurant. The food and service are great. Price/performance are also great here. No trace of rip-off, as is often the case with other items. Clear recommendation. A table reservation is mandatory.

You have to like the restaurant or not. The guests sit quite close together, which I personally don't find uncomfortable. So I could talk to nice people. The service is quick and attentive. I had to ask her to smile because, as I noticed, it suits the young woman very well and creates a nice atmosphere. My panfish was really good and I can recommend it.

The quality of the food is okay, but a waiting time of 1.5 hours from ordering to serving the food is NOT acceptable. The wait staff can't do anything about it, but other restaurants can do it better. Perhaps the capacity of the kitchen is not quite right in relation to the number of guests seated. If you just want to have a drink, you would probably be well served here. I will avoid this restaurant in the future... the free caraway seeds after the meal didn't help either.

It was our first time at the "Seehund" and we were not disappointed. We had a good tasty meal. It came quickly, was hot and freshly prepared. I also had a very fruity blackcurrant spritzer. Thank you very much 👍

Were there for dinner. The main course food was rich. However, there were no starters. However, the fish was very tasty – really tasty. The restaurant has good seating, so there are some tight spaces. But somehow it's also fitting for the area. Can be recommended!

Excellent food, very nice staff

A lovely evening in a rustic maritime ambience. Everyone enjoyed the food very much and the large group got everything at the same time. There was fish, schnitzel and steaks. After the meal there is a clear schnapps on the house for every guest who wants it. Since the landlady will stop at the end of 2024, you have to visit this restaurant this year. Don't forget to reserve a table in good time, it won't work without it!

What sweet amber! Such a great, lovingly run restaurant where every dish tastes delicious! The portions are generous and extremely well seasoned. We had the lobster soup as a starter, an absolute must!!! It was so delicious I would come back just for it. For the main course we had the crab skewers in an excellent onion, garlic and rosemary stock. An absolute dream! Happy to come back to Seehund at any time! Thank you! Rounded off with an egg grog, it's easier to walk home!

Sadly bad. Plaice fillet had no taste and didn't look like plaice. There was no consistency either. My wife enjoyed her food, but she didn't like it.

We had a lovely evening. The food was really good. We had to wait a bit for the food, but it wasn't bad at all. We're not on the run and taking a vacation. On the beautiful offshore island. At the end there was even a bargain on the house.

Nette Bedienung aber das essen ist nur mittelmäßig. Vom Ambiente habe ich mir beim Geschmack des Essens mehr erwartet.

Gute, bürgerliche Küche zu guten Preisen. Sehr liebevolle Bedienung, sehr, sehr nett. Gemütliche Atmosphäre, gemütliche Beleuchtung. Seit Jahren bin ich immer wieder gerne dort.

Wir haben dieses Restaurant in unserem Urlaub zweimal besucht, weil uns die Speisen sehr gut geschmeckt haben und wir uns wohl gefühlt haben. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich rustikal eingerichtet, die Beleuchtung sehr stimmig. Die Portionen sind gut, die Preise ok. Man muss ein wenig Zeit mitbringen, was vollkommen ok ist, wenn man es weiß. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, auch norddeutsch charmant, wer da nicht mit umgehen kann, Pech gehabt 😉 Für uns gab es in diesem Restaurant das beste Essen auf Helgoland! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

2023: Diesmal waren wir sehr enttäuscht 😞. Wir mussten sehr lange auf die Getränke warten. Die Küche scheint total überlastet zu sein. Wartezeit auf das Essen geht gar nicht. Dann wurde die Bestellte Suppe vergessen. Bei einem Essen war die Beilage falsch. Teller wurde dann mitgenommen und die Belage ausgetauscht. 2021: Wir waren 2X hier zum Essen. Das Essen war immer schnell fertig und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Beim ersten Mal war nur eine Service Kraft anwesend. Diese musste sich um den Eingang und die Personen welche nicht Reserviert hatten kümmern. Zudem noch den Service an den Tischen. Später bekam sie Unterstützung. Sie war sehr aufmerksam. Was mir negativ aufgefallen ist. Der Herr hinter der Theke hat es nicht so mit dem zapfen. Wenn Bier aus anderen Gläser zusammen geschüttet wird und dazwischen der Schaum abgestriffen wird, frage ich mich ob die Anlage schlecht eingestellt ist oder der Herr es nur nicht kann.
