Restaurant Leib & Seele in Norderney

Das Essen ist ok, die Bedienung besser als es mal war aber warum ist das Restaurant so ungepflegt: Boden - seit Tagen wohl nicht gefegt (haben tagelang den gleichen Schmutz gesehen), am Boden unter unserem Tisch standen volle Aschenbecher, und wie alt der Schmutz am Fensterrahmen ist, wollte ich mir nicht vorstellen. In so einem schmuddeligem Restaurant möchte ich nichts mehr essen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Auf extrawünsche ist man sehr nett eingegangen und hat die exakt so umgesetzt. Gern wieder.

Im Zentrum, freundliche Bedienung und leckere Getränke...

Für Veganer ist das Lokal bedingt geeignet. Ich habe eine Erbsencreme und gebackenen Blumenkohl gegessen. Es war beides wirklich sehr schmackhaft, aber zu der Scheibe Blumenkohl gab es außer Senf nichts. Keine Kohlenhydrate, kein Protein, buchstäblich nichts für 19,50 Euro. Bestellt man ein Fischgericht, bekommt man Kartoffeln und Salat dazu. Bestelle ich Blumenkohl als Hauptgericht, bekomme ich eine Scheibe Blumenkohl. Ich war nicht satt und habe netterweise noch eine Scheibe Blumenkohl nachgekommen. Außer dem Blumenkohl gab es auf der Karte noch ein veganes Curry. Wenn man, wie ich jetzt 3 Wochen auf der Insel ist, ist das herzlich wenig Auswahl, finde ich zumindest.

Wir waren im Januar und im Juni mehrmals dort und immer äußerst zufrieden mit dem Essen und dem Service.

Service war absolut klasse. Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Rumpsteak leider total trocken (kein Tropfen Saft!) und das Kartoffelgratin geschmackarm. Ambiente Top!

Wir hatten zu viert einen Tisch draußen bestellt und waren zuerst geschockt. Eine richtige Partylocation.. das hatten wir zum geplanten, gemütlichen Abendessen nicht erwartet. Aber das Essen hat alles wieder rausgeholt… es war einfach nur top. Ob Fischplatte oder Ravioli.. es war alles sehr köstlich. Die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Empfehlung: für ein Essen in nettem Ambiente den Tisch indoor reservieren.

Durch den sehr guten Service, mega leckeres Essen wunderschöne Umgebung haben wir einen super abend gehabt, den wir so schnell nicht vergessen werden.

War ein Firmen Ausflug sehr schöne Ambiente essen war super lecker sehr schöne Zeit mit Arbeitskollegen verbracht.

Fischplatte, Kalbsleber, Salatbuffet und Flammkuchen, alles sehr schmackhaft und lecker, aufmerksame Bedienung, gute Weinauswahl, wir hatten einen schönen Abend und kommen sicher wieder.

Wir konnten uns dank der Auswahl ein veganes Menü aus Erbsensuppe, gebackenem Blumenkohl und Sorbet zusammenstellen. Wintergarten und Personal waren top. Gerne wieder 👍

Wir waren am Donnerstag den 30.04. hier essen. Nach einer etwas knappen Begrüßung auf der Terasse wurden wir nach drinnen geschickt um uns dort zu melden. Dort wurden wir wiederum äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen und zu unserem reservierten Platz gebracht. Der Service war von da an okay, wenngleich unser Kellner manchmal etwas überfordert wirkte und eine leicht flapsige und zu wenig distanzierte Art hatte. Das Essen war wiederum ausgezeichnet und vom Preis Leistungsverhältnis top. Was uns aber massiv gestört hat, war die Geräuschkulisse aus der angeschlossenen Lokalität Fischerkate. Aus dieser Kneipe mit Ballermann-Flair dröhnten bereits ab kurz vor 20 Uhr die Bässe der eingängigen Schlagerhits um vermiesten uns das schöne Ambiente. Noch schlimmer wurde es dann, als ein paar Kinder von einem Tisch in der Nähe, ständig die Verbindungstür zwischen noblen Restaurant und der Saufkneipe benutzen. Ständig dröhnte die laute Saufmusik durch das Lokal und eine ruhige entspannte Unterhaltung war nicht mehr möglich. Zumal es doch sehr fragwürdig ist, das minderjährigen Kinder Zutritt zu so einer Kneipe überhaupt gestattet ist. Ganz zu schweigen davon, dass die Eltern es anscheinend auch noch witzig fanden, wenn ihre Kinder zwischen den ganzen Besoffenen herumtollen. Auch wenn Norderney eine ganz klare Zeilgruppenausrichtung auf den Sauftourismus hat, tut man sich mit dieser Konstellation keinen gefallen. So eine Durchgangstür gehört nicht in ein Restaurant wie Leib und Seele und für etwas mehr Flair und Athmosphäre sollte man über eine bessere Trennung zwischen Restaurant und Kneipe nachdenken. Auch ein späteres aufdrehen der Musik, wenn die Restauranrgäste bereits mit ihrem Essen durch sind, wäre eine einfache Maßnahme um das Ambiente entsprechend zu erhalten.

Hatten nicht das meiste Glück mit dem bestellten Gerichten. Spargel war holzig und sehr geschmacksneutral. Service top

Stabil! Das Essen ist von hoher Qualität und die Portionen sind groß. Es ist eher ein Restaurant, wie es meiner Oma gefallen hätte, von Einrichtung und auch Speisekarte wenig Innovation oder Moderne, aber es ist ja wichtig, dass auch solche traditionellen Läden fortbestehen. Sicher gut für große Gruppen, viele Tische, viel Personal.

Wir waren jetzt zweimal dort, einmal im Nov 25 und jetzt im Mai 26. Beide Male sehr unfreundliches, genervtes Personal. Heute sind wir nach der patzigen Antwort auf eine Frage nach dem Salatbuffet direkt wieder gegangen - Service wird dort leider klein geschrieben...

Leckeres Essen, guter Service und zentrale Lage

Getränke sind ok. Bedienung ist unterirdisch. Bedienung nicht zu sehen. 25 min bis zum ersten Getränk. Der Umsatz ließe sich bequem verdoppeln bis verdreifachen, wenn man etwas verkaufen würde.

Uns hat das Restaurant "Leib und Seele" gut gefallen. Hier findet man noch sehr nette Mitarbeiter im Service und das macht für uns viel aus. Das Essen war natürlich sehr gut.

Exzellentes, kreatives Restaurant in der Stadtmitte.

Trotz Reservierung 30 Minuten Wartezeit stehend mit vielen anderen Gästen im Gang Sehr positiv, die Freundlichkeit des Personals, besonders der junge Mann, der am Eingang die Unzufriedenheit der wartenden Gäste aushalten musste und die Situation sehr gut gemeistert hat!

Für unsere Gruppe der perfekte Laden. Vom herzlichen Empfang über die wirklich gut geschulten Bedienungen bis hin zum Koch, der sein Handwerk versteht, passt hier alles. Lass unbedingt Platz für den Nachtisch, wenn du dein Menü zusammenstellst. Und bestelle zu Anfang auch eine dieser innovativen Spritz-Aperitifs. Am besten den Friesen-Sprizz. Schmeckt garantiert nicht nach Fisch.

Zentrale Lage mit großer Außenterrasse! Draußen kann nicht reserviert werden, die Wartezeiten halten sich aber in Grenzen. Es lohnt sich, gute Küche mit Wechselnder Karte. Personal ist freundlich und der Service ist gut organisiert.

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsbuffet am 1. Feiertag dort und waren leider ziemlich enttäuscht, nachdem wir vorher mehrmals sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht hatten. Die Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Speisen war überschaubar, es gab zwar eine große Auswahl an Salaten und Antipasti zur Vorspeise, jedoch nur eine geringe Varianz in der Zusammenstellung der Hauptspeisen. Und der "Star" des Mittags, die klassische Entenkeule, war leider so dermaßen zäh, dass unser Sohn nur leise kommentierte "naja, vielleicht bin ich durch Omas Kochkünste verwöhnt". Das Fleisch war nicht schneidbar, die Haut zäh wie Gummi, und geschmacklich machte sie leider auch nicht viel her, da half auch die bereitgestellte Orangensauce nicht. Zumindest der Service war gewohnt aufmerksam. Für uns kommt das Leib und Seele leider nicht mehr als Restaurant für ein festliches Familienessen in Frage. Schade!

The food and service were very good. We find it incomprehensible that the restaurant tolerates smoking in the enclosed conservatory. For us, this is a deal-breaker and a reason to return.

Delicious food and great service. The vegan kale is highly recommended; it's great that they're keeping up with the times and also offer cruelty-free menus.

A truly special restaurant. Excellent service and very friendly staff. The food sets a benchmark for every other restaurant on the island. It's in a class of its own.

We spontaneously got a table in the evening for my parents and our two-year-old twins. (I definitely recommend making a reservation; it was packed, and we were incredibly lucky.) The service was excellent and friendly—the child-friendly attitude of all the staff was particularly noteworthy. They even provided crayons and coloring paper for the little ones. Even as a family with young children, we felt more than welcome! The food was outstanding; we had absolutely nothing to complain about and will definitely be back on our next vacation!

The food was good, but not a revelation for the price. But from a human perspective, it was a disaster: not helping an elderly woman I helped after she fell, but simply replying, "Could you please sit at your table then? You're sitting in the aisle, and we have to serve the other guests." It's simply awful. A pure profiteer! Stay away!

There's currently a seasonal menu featuring lots of pumpkin. The pumpkin cream soup and tarte flambée were delicious.

We had lunch there. The atmosphere was cozy; we sat outside in good weather. The service was very attentive. The vegetarian tarte flambée was delicious. It's a bit more expensive, but it really depends on what you order.

The food tasted good and was reasonably priced

A great place to watch what's happening on the promenade. Protected from the sun and wind. Service OK.

Eight of us were there for a birthday party. The table was beautifully set and we received a friendly welcome. For starters we had potato soup, which was delicious. After that, however, everything was a disaster. We ordered burgers, tarte flambée, and kale. I personally didn't like the kale. All the burgers were well done or well done plus, even though we ordered medium and medium rare. Half of them came with burnt buns. For a €23 burger, I expect the doneness to be at least roughly right. I sent the medium-rare burger back. The second burger was well done again. At that point, I gave up. The highlight, however, was that the tarte flambée only arrived after repeated requests and after more than 20 minutes, when everyone else was almost finished.

It's more of a fast food option these days. Leib und Seele used to be a really good restaurant, and we ate there several times during our vacation. Now the menu is dominated by burgers, tarte flambée, and currywurst. It's no longer the same standard as the old Leib und Seele. While in the past, you'd occasionally get a welcome drink from the kitchen, today you have to pay for the bread in advance. But that's not enough. If you order the cheese plate (€16) for dessert, the bread is limited to exactly two slices (the cheese is plentiful). If you want some bread with it, because the ratio of cheese to bread has to be right, you'll be charged €5. Seriously? What's wrong with you? In response to the restaurant's comment, I can only say that we actually only received two small slices of bread with the cheese plate, and when we asked for more bread, they offered it to us, but told us we had to pay for it – they couldn't give us any more slices for free. We ended up paying €5 for it. I'll stick to that, as I experienced it myself. It may be that this was a mistake on the part of the service, who constantly told us it was new. But we went to an upscale restaurant, and the rating has to be measured by that, and I don't want to be able to excuse everything because of new service. If this isn't the restaurant's pricing practices, then the service could have inquired.

I decided on this restaurant quite spontaneously for lunch. It was a Friday just before noon. At that time, all the tables were free. The ambiance and service were what you'd expect from a fine-dining restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was only partially satisfactory. The currywurst still leaves a lot of room for improvement :(

We've dined at the outdoor dining area several times. The location is phenomenal. From the terrace, you can relax and watch the hustle and bustle of the street and enjoy a fantastic view in all directions. The selection of drinks, especially wines, is excellent. The same goes for the food on offer. Both are served by very attentive and friendly staff. We'll be happy to return on our next island vacation.

The Leib&Seele restaurant serves truly delicious food! While the menu selection is somewhat limited, each dish is prepared with love and fresh ingredients. The portion sizes could definitely be a bit larger, however. For the price, one would have expected more, as the portions are rather small and not entirely filling. This is something that could perhaps be improved. The service is very friendly and makes you feel well looked after. The ambiance is cozy and inviting—perfect for a relaxing evening.

Very good service, well-trained staff, delicious food. Cozy location, the best price-performance ratio for breakfast. 22.50 euros and you get fresh juices, any kind of coffee or hot chocolate. Latte, espresso, etc. All you eat and drink. Fresh eggs of various kinds are available to order, etc. The fish platter is also very tasty. What you get for just under 30 euros is right in terms of price, portion size and taste. 3 types of fish fillet, North Sea crabs and mussels. Best fish platter on the island. Only available for 2 people or more and only in the evenings. The lunch menu is different

Wow! First of all, the reception was fantastic! You get a really warm welcome and are immediately shown to your reserved table, which is beautifully set, and the service is simply fantastic. I've really missed such friendly and helpful service. And then the food. It wasn't exactly cheap, but the food really surprised me. It looked great, smelled good, and tasted amazing! The wait for the food wasn't that long either. A luxury you don't get in all restaurants. Preheated plates... a check-up on your well-being... and much more... We are truly thrilled and look forward to our next visit.

The food is really good, rather upscale, but the prices are absolutely fair. It's a shame that by 7:30 p.m., you can't order everything from the evening menu. Otherwise, everything was really great.

We are simply more than thrilled! (Yet again)! The price-performance ratio is simply top-notch! The service is very courteous and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious! We had a three-course meal, and both the starter, main course, and dessert were fantastic. 🙏🏻 In my opinion, the best restaurant on the entire island! Highly recommended.

The food was good, the ambiance was fine except for a few tables and chairs outside that were covered in bird droppings. We were all understandable, except for the behavior of the waiter who served us. When he brought our Cokes, he accidentally spilled 20% of the contents while pouring them. It happens. We were okay with that, too, but when you pay over €3 for a 0.2 Coke and the waiter spills a little, I expect him to at least ask if we want a new one and not charge us when we pay. He simply said NOTHING and acted as if nothing had happened. We waited patiently for him to come by and say something, but no. We were very patient; when we paid, we said, "You won't charge us for the Coke you spilled, will you?" And his response was, "But it was only a small sip." I don't need to say anything more, do I? It couldn't be more unprofessional.

We were asked very rudely if we wanted to eat (otherwise, we wouldn't have been allowed to sit in the restaurant). Even though we said yes, we weren't served and left after a while. Overall, it seemed very chaotic, even though the place was almost empty. The service, at least, wasn't heart and soul.

It's very centrally located, and the terrace is a great place to relax. The service is excellent, and the waiters are very friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the menu doesn't offer much choice.

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio here is absolutely not right!

We were at the restaurant with a large group. I had the burger. The burger was good. With sweet onions. The fries were unfortunately a bit soggy. The tarte flambée was very good. The currywurst was OK but not outstanding.

The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch. The beautiful weather allowed us to sit outside in the sun, and for our final coffee, the roof was closed and the heaters turned on. The bread basket with a mixed appetizer platter is highly recommended, with everything from aoili to ham, olives, tomato sauce, and much more. The mixed fish platter with North Sea crab, three fillets, mussels in a delicious sauce, and potatoes was just as delicious and well-prepared as the cod. The vegetables and lemon sauce were also a highlight. If there's anything to complain about, one fillet was a bit overcooked, but not dry. This doesn't detract from the overall impression, and we're happy to give it full marks! And as always: pictures speak louder than words. Check them out, we'd love to come back. Body & soul, the name fits 👍

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The prices are extremely high, but they don't reflect the quality and quantity of the food. The taste was rather mediocre, and much of it seemed carelessly prepared. The vegan offerings were particularly disappointing. They advertise vegan dishes heavily – but in reality, there was only an antipasti platter for €19.50, which included one (!) piece of bell pepper, a slice of zucchini, two small mushrooms, and a few lettuce leaves. That's not just disappointing, it's downright cheeky. The service was friendly, but that alone can't redeem the overall disappointing experience. We definitely won't be coming back.

We made a reservation from afar on Wednesday, decorated the table with birthday decorations, and the service was excellent, creative, and the food was excellent! The wine list is more extensive than the stock (Cloudy Bay, New Zealand 😉). My recommendation.

Shortly before the kitchen closed (30 minutes before) we ordered food for 4 people. 2 people ordered the rum steak (medium) This was full of tendons and completely through after the plate was thrown on the table. A dessert was then supposed to be delivered to the house as compensation, but unfortunately it never arrived. The only “nice” accommodation was a drink on the house. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful atmosphere, I have to say: That was the first and last time.

NO king within a king Bad, bad-tempered service, place right at the waiter's preparation table, snarky comments about the credit card you chose. And for all of this you have to deposit €30/person by credit card when making your reservation. Totally overrated restaurant. Never again.

The waffle (waffles according to the menu) for €11 was served cold and hard. Given the price, you can expect a certain level of quality.

Nice store but overpriced. Poor service rushed. “Waffles” according to the menu was just a small, cold waffle. Tea only 1.5 small cups in the pot, cold and bitter. You can't accept that for the price. Too bad. Not recommended.

Complete chaos. The waiter was totally overwhelmed. Waited forever for everything. The beer was long gone, then the water came and no one came to collect. Put the money on the table. Who knows if it ever arrived.

All in all, it was good. Very friendly service. Prices are reasonable for Norderney. The food was spotty, but the tarte flambée was excellent. The three kinds of dike lamb were much too small. A shame. Ideal for a coffee break.

We had soup, main course and dessert. All three were very tasty and tasty. Down-to-earth cuisine with a good selection. Attentive and relaxed service. The restaurant was full and there was a reason for that.

The two of us were on the terrace at lunchtime. After about 25 minutes of waiting, we order a beer and a latte and a menu to look for breakfast the next morning. The waiter then came with our drinks after another 20 minutes of waiting. We had to say twice to pay and waited again. We didn't ask for the card a second time. By the way, card payments only from €15...I can't think of anything.

Tarte flambée and roast were very tasty, the price is ok. I found the portion size a bit small when frying. Nice atmosphere - but we were unlucky with a larger group as it was quite loud.

Upscale ambience. Prices to match. Food was very well done and tastefully prepared. There are deficiencies in the service, as one of the 'head' waitresses (the more corpulent one) seems to have little idea about discreet service. When you enter, you start to feel like you're being scrutinized ('Do these people spend enough here?'). We were probably lucky to have passed (€94 ;-). This has to be done more discreetly (the boss was asked silently, we hadn't made a reservation)! Unfortunately, I have no idea how to take drink orders. We were asked three times what we would like to drink even though we were still reading the menu. She probably doesn't know that not all drinks go well with food. There was no question about an aperitif, nor about a degestive. Someone still has a lot to learn, even if she has the big say!
