The staff pleasantly surprised us with a welcome from the kitchen and, to finish, a homemade liqueur. Unfortunately, I must note that the prices here are rather high. The expected quality and taste were not fully met, in my opinion. The double duck was particularly disappointing. The duck breast was served as part of an Asian noodle stir-fry and unfortunately proved to be dry. After finishing the course, the waiter asked how it tasted. I told him that I found the duck dry. When I told the staff this, they explained to me that the breast had been cooked in the oven for over two and a half hours, which I found a bit confusing. Despite the long cooking time, the duck breast shouldn't have been dry. It seemed inappropriate to me that the waitress corrected me in front of my companions, claiming that couldn't be and that she had consulted with the chef. Nevertheless, I must say that the second duck course was good in terms of seasoning. The service staff were friendly, albeit occasionally a bit sloppy, which could also have been due to my comment after the first course. Given the high prices, I would have expected commensurate service, which unfortunately wasn't consistently delivered.

We had a fantastic evening and will be back to your restaurant because not only do you get delicious food, but also service that instantly lifts your mood by 80%. We were actually planning on going to the summer festival, but because of the rain, we spontaneously decided to try your restaurant without a reservation. Nevertheless, we received a warm welcome and felt at home before we even sat down. The team's energy is simply great. We'll definitely be back.

Six of us had a truly culinary evening. I was a little worried about being full, so I opted for a set menu. That was a truly good decision! From the first course to the last, it was a flavor explosion! The dishes were all beautifully presented, and with every course, I heard a resounding "mmmm" from our table with every spoonful or bite. What I also found very pleasant was the fact that everything was quite relaxed and not as uptight as it often is in fine-dining restaurants.

As we all know, tastes differ (as with food). We found the service staff described in another review very refreshing, child-friendly, authentic, and courteous. I also find it more productive to address things that bother you directly rather than immediately leaving a negative review. The individual dishes have also been significantly improved in terms of both taste and presentation. I really like the more straightforward, "no-frills" style of cooking.

We were at your restaurant yesterday. The food was delicious, the wine tasteful and well-chilled. The only negative aspect of your restaurant was the loud behavior of some of the employees. We were shocked to hear all the inappropriate words from this tall employee. He was loud and rude to the rest of the staff. Even if he's a supervisor, that doesn't give him the right to belittle others.

Today, like every year, we visited your restaurant. This was our 13th visit. So far, it's always been a pleasure: a calm atmosphere, professional staff, friendly service, all of the highest quality. But today was different. You have a new, tall employee, and honestly, we've never experienced anything so loud and unprofessional in a restaurant before. He was constantly loud, talking nonstop, and ruined the entire atmosphere. Our children were unsettled simply by the way he spoke. He also spoke loudly to guests at the neighboring table, and it was clearly visible that they felt uncomfortable. They wanted to eat, and he talked nonstop. Absolutely inappropriate for a restaurant of your class. It felt like we were at a snack bar and not in your otherwise high-quality restaurant. We were honestly disappointed. That's not how we know you.

The Oktopussy website promises a team that advises "with heart and soul." In our case, there was no sign of this: Despite having a reservation, we were simply forgotten after being greeted. Only after we insisted did the waiter acknowledge us after more than 30 minutes. The politely trying but completely overwhelmed staff seemed helpless and uncoordinated throughout the evening – a situation that is inexcusable in this price range. The restaurant describes itself online as a "culinary hotspot" that "sets new standards." Standards were set – but only in terms of poor culinary craftsmanship and chaotic service. Little remained of the advertised inspiring ambiance other than stylish photo opportunities. Only the "essence of oxtail" was convincing in terms of taste. The eponymous octopus, on the other hand, was practically drowning in tasteless aioli and lost any chance of enjoyment. The main courses turned into culinary disasters. The poached halibut was dry, the mussels overcooked, and the beluga lentils bone-dry and overseasoned. The Iberico pork trio was hardly better: pork cheek dripping with fat, simultaneously dry and overseasoned. Both dishes were returned in disappointment; no feedback was provided from the chef—presumably, the criticism was already known. After discussion, we were given a discount of approximately 15% off the bill, which did little to mitigate the disappointment. The oxtail soup and drinks were excellent—but good food shouldn't be left to chance. Our next table also confirmed a disappointing experience as we left. In summary: Oktopussy's dazzling self-promotion is in grotesque contrast to reality. Here, you pay dearly for disappointing cuisine and amateurish service. This is definitely not a culinary hotspot—rather, a gastronomic disappointment that should be avoided.

I was there again this year. Some parts were disappointing: the vegetarian starter was relatively tasteless, the kids' burger had a completely dried-out bun, and even though I ordered it, it wasn't delivered without a tomato and lettuce. The cocktails, the Passion Fruit Spritz, were delicious. With prices like Seesteg, I expect quality like this. Nice restaurant, great service, delicious food, not cheap but good. Worth the price!

Hm… was soll ich sagen. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal im Restaurant und ja es hat uns nicht abgeholt. Wir waren pünktlich zum gebuchten Termin im Restaurant, da unser Tisch nicht frei war, wurden wir an der Bar geparkt. Wir konnten direkt in die Küche schauen und konnten sehen, wie ein Großteil der Küchencrew fortwährend gegessen hat. Es wurden Sachen in die Hand genommen, irgendwo eingedippt und in den Mund gesteckt. Der Service war bemüht, aber leider auch etwas überfordert. Es ist schade, wenn die Servicekraft nicht weiß, wer was bestellt hat. Wein wurde nicht automatisch -gerade zum Hauptgang- nachgeschenkt. Zum Abschluss wurde dann statt eines Williams ein Himbeerbrand geschickt. Kommen wir zum Essen, geschmacklich eher mittelmäßig. Bei unseren Hauptgängen hatten wir das Lamm und zweierlei vom Rind. Die Schichtkartoffel beim Rind waren geschmacksneutral und was der Ziegenkäse auf dem Teller gemacht hat, haben wir nicht verstanden. Das Lammgericht war ok, wenngleich das geschmorte Lamm trocken war. Letztendlich wars ok aber das gewisse “Quäntchen “ ..allemal für den Preis..fehlte. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn meine konstruktive Kritik positiv gewertet wird, denn das Restaurantkonzept und die Mitarbeiter haben es verdient.

A lot helps a lot - or not. We were there for a birthday dinner and have to say that we were thrilled when it started. There was a small decoration and a drink on the house. Unfortunately the service stopped there. We weren't asked if we wanted a bottle of water, and later we were hardly asked about drinks. One of us doesn't eat meat and said so directly at the beginning, but the greeting from the kitchen still came with meat. While we were eating we noticed that other guests had given feedback to the kitchen about ice cream. The chef simply commented “it’s just ice cream, what do they want to hear now?” The extent to which criticism is accepted is of course up to the chef, but reacting at a level that the guests notice is highly unprofessional. At the end we ordered the bill and were then asked if we wanted more coffee. Assuming this was the normal process, one of us ordered another espresso. Since the invoice had already been issued, problems arose, but the waitress behind us didn't speak to us and was incredibly upset. The other waitress resolved the situation well and didn't get involved in any discussions. But the staff should really be aware of how much guests get from the open concept. To eat: The starters were fantastic, at the time we were still excited. One of the main courses was very good, the other was very overloaded and not harmonious due to all the cheese. Unfortunately the portion was far too large for a 3 course meal. At the end we had ice cream and have to agree with the feedback from the other guests, the taste was good, but unfortunately not creamy and instead with ice crystals. All in all, unfortunately not what we expect from a Michelin-listed restaurant and we have had much nicer evenings in this restaurant category. We probably won't come back.

Nachdem wir im September 24 keine gute Erfahrung gemacht haben, sind wir im März 25 noch mal einmal hingegangen. Und siehe da: Eine super Bedienung (junge Dame) klasse Service und das Essen ist wieder auf dem sehr guten, gewohnten Niveau. Der Wein kam zur richtigen Zeit und nicht mit dem Aperitif.

Unser Besuch im Restaurant Octopussy war leider eine Enttäuschung und blieb deutlich hinter den Erwartungen zurück – vor allem angesichts des Preisniveaus und des Anspruchs, den das Restaurant vermittelt. Der Service war zwar höflich, aber wenig aufmerksam und nicht besonders engagiert. Für ein gehobenes Restaurant fehlte es spürbar an Herzlichkeit und Professionalität, was das Erlebnis bereits zu Beginn trübte. Am Eingang wurde man trotz Reservierung stehegelassen, da man erst mal schauen musste, wo man einen Tisch anbieten kann, der dann erst noch gedeckt werden musste... Die Speisen konnten diesen Eindruck leider nicht retten. Die Rosenkohl-Kartoffelsuppe war viel zu fettig, und der eigentliche Geschmack des Rosenkohls ging nahezu völlig unter. Die Parmesansuppe war ebenfalls sehr fettreich und geschmacklich so intensiv, dass sie kaum genießbar war. Die Ceviche, mit 24,50 Euro absolut hochpreisig, war bestenfalls mittelmäßig – eine kleine Portion mit einem eher enttäuschenden, uninspirierten Aroma. Die Bouillabaisse, die eigentlich ein Highlight hätte sein können, entpuppte sich als eine Art Suppenmischmasch mit Allerlei. Die Zutaten schienen wahllos zusammengestellt, und die Suppe war lieblos abgeschmeckt – von der Raffinesse einer echten Bouillabaisse war hier leider nichts zu spüren. Das Wochenrisotto schließlich haben wir nicht aufgegessen, da es geschmacklich flach und unausgewogen war. Die Enttäuschung über die Hauptgerichte war so groß, dass wir uns dazu entschieden haben, auf ein Dessert komplett zu verzichten. Alles in allem konnte weder die Küche noch der Service mit dem Anspruch des Restaurants oder den aufgerufenen Preisen mithalten. Das Ambiente war zwar ansprechend, aber das allein reicht nicht aus, um einen rundum gelungenen Abend zu garantieren. Für uns war dieser Besuch leider kein Erlebnis, das wir wiederholen möchten. Der Arielle Cocktail konnte da auch nicht merh wirklich etwas rausreissen.....

We ate at Oktopussy on November 3rd. Super nice welcome, unfortunately the rest wasn't so good. We are younger (22 years old). Unfortunately, this was very noticeable in the service. The difference compared to the other guests was very big. We weren't asked for any more drinks and we weren't really paid any attention to. We also had to wait a long time for the bill (approx. 20 minutes). Unfortunately, this was not correct either (we only noticed this when we got home). With a bill of €195 for two people you would expect a different standard of service. We come from the catering industry ourselves and are therefore not people who are quick to complain or complain. However, I wouldn't recommend it for younger people.

After a day in the Badehaus we decided to try out Oktopussy. I am so thrilled we did. The waiters were extremely attentive and gave great food recommendations. We started with an Aperitif of Strawberry Gin with tonic and lime. Fresh, fruity and delicious. The entree of Tomato tartar was a well balanced dish of perfection leaving us wanting more. Upon recommendation I chose the Rotbarsch and Adler duet which was perfectly cooked and the sides were well balanced in flavour and texture. My husband chose the Pata Negra which was also well cooked with a deliciously reduced sauce. We shared a dessert of Pistachio mousse, white chocolate and lavender mousse and truffel frozen dessert. An absolute delight. I count fault anything and it was an absolute pleasure to eat at this restaurant. Will certainly be back!

THE top restaurant on the island. If you want to eat well and eat very well, you should visit Oktopussy in New Wave. A MUST for every gourmet. Very good service and excellent cuisine. You read something, you think "oh I'll order that" then you go one step further, "oh yes that!" Like this through the whole map. Moin zusammen. wir haben das Restaurant von Anfang an jedes Jahr besucht. Waren immer zufrieden bis begeistert. Nun war das anders. Es fehlte die Liebe zum Gast. Alles ging so zack, zack. Im Aperetiv sollte eine Erdbeere sein, ohne Kommentar, es kann ja vorkommen daß es keine Erdbeeren gibt, wurden Blaubeeren seviert. Das Kottelet vom Pata Negra Schwein war indiskutabel. Meinen Gästen hätte so etwas nicht serviert. Im vorbeigehen haben wir dann gesehen daß auch relativ wenig Gäste im Restaurant waren.

Pleasantly modernly furnished restaurant. Unfortunately, the attentiveness of the consistently friendly service staff noticeably diminished towards the end. The menu is pleasantly clear and authentic. We chose sousvide octopus and black grouse. Both well prepared and very attractively presented. Good wine selection. The homemade Negroni (matured in oak barrels) is a nice idea, but nothing more.

War in den letzten 3 Jahren unser 3. Besuch und leider sinkt die Qualität. Der Service ist freundlich, kann aber bei fehlendem Wein nicht wirklich eine Alternative anbieten. Eine Sommelierausbildung täte gut. Mein Tochter wollte den Kidsburger ohne Ketchup und Salat , aber mit Gurke und Tomate. Nachdem dies nicht drauf waren, musste wir für die Nachbestellung 10 min warten- Gurke und Tomaten kamen auf Extrateller- und der Burger war kalt. Eine Entschuldigung kam nicht. Ansonsten war das 3-Gang -Menü nicht wirklich seinen Preis wert. Für einige Zeit wohl der letzte Besuch.

Als Stammgäste des Hotels waren wir auch diesmal gerne hier essen. Was sich die letzten Male leider schon angedeutet hatte, hat sich nun einmal mehr bestätigt. Dass man zu einem bestellten, nicht mehr vorhandenen Wein, keine Alternative anbietet… Schwamm drüber. Dass man jedoch ohne jegliche Betreuung stundenlang auf Service warten muss, ist eine Unverschämtheit. Wer Preise wie in einem Sternerestaurant verlangt, sollte zumindest Service auf McDonald’s Niveau bieten. Keinerlei Getränkeservice am Tisch, kein Service ohne Nachfrage, einfach nur enttäuschend und unfreundlich. Dem Preisniveau absolut unangemessen. Wie es besser geht, sieht man doch in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft. Ein ausdrückliches Lob gilt allerdings der Küche, denn das Essen ist immer noch herausragend gut und es kann einem schon ein wenig leid tun, dass der Service dies in keinster Weise umsetzt. Zum Glück haben wir es gerade noch vor 22 Uhr geschafft, unseren Hauptgang zu essen ( Restaurant schließt um 22 Uhr) , Dessert?? Kaffee?? Aperitif?? Wenn die Rechnung dann mehrere hundert Euro beträgt, ist es absolut unangemessen und traurig. Wir waren immer gerne hier, aber heute wohl zum letzten Mal.

Excellent cuisine and great service. We chose the 3 course menu and were completely satisfied. The starter and main course were incredibly tasty. When we asked how the jus was prepared, we quickly got an answer from the waiter, who asked directly in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the dessert wasn't quite to our taste, but it was beautifully presented. We would still like to come back!

We booked a table at short notice today via OpenTable and were looking forward to going to the restaurant. Waiting briefly at reception isn't a problem, but once we were at our table and had the cards brought to us, the service ended. For almost 25 minutes they didn't pay any attention to us, instead focusing on more inconsequential things. The waitress walked past our table several times and didn't come up with the idea of taking an order. When guests who came to the restaurant after us and also waited longer for a possible order were served before us, we decided to leave. I asked the waiter that we leave the restaurant again. What followed was a very short-winded apology and no awareness of mistakes. It's a shame for such a seemingly good restaurant if that's the service.

This evening we made reservations and ate at Oktopussy. We came with 6 people and drank and ate a lot (over €400). Unfortunately, the quality of the gnocchi we ordered was not satisfactory. The service discussed it with us and the kitchen didn't see anything wrong. Afterwards we were mocked by the service staff and the kitchen. We have visited the restaurant several times and are now very disappointed. We will avoid the location in the future.

We had a really nice evening in the Octopussy restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. The greeting from the kitchen was well coordinated and a nice interplay of spiciness and acidity. Particularly noteworthy was the variation in marine animals. Modernes Ambiente mit lockerer Atmosphäre, sehr interessante Karte mit ungewöhnlichen Kombinationen von Aromen und Zutaten. Sehr freundlicher und herzlicher Service, durch den man sich auch als Alleinreisende(r) wohlfühlt. Die Weine ergänzen die leckeren und kreativen Gerichte auf sehr gelungene Weise. Wer auf hohem Niveau entspannt genießen will, ist im Octopussy gut aufgehoben. Ich habe hier gleich zwei Mal gegessen, weil es so lecker und angenehm war, danke!

When we were looking for a special restaurant for our wedding anniversary, we ended up at Oktopussy, also because we like to eat fish. The furnishings and the ambience are quite nice, just modern, as is the case today. We sat at the window facing the street, so it was bright enough ;-). We were immediately called by first names, which for us Boomers still takes a lot of getting used to, and if you don't like it, you have no chance of escaping it (as with gendering). Although the restaurant was not yet fully occupied, the service was slow and the lady seemed very busy. As a greeting from the kitchen she brought us fresh bread with a very soft lard spread, oil and salt, which is actually not worth mentioning. As a starter there was the octopus salad or grilled zucchini blossom with salad, which tasted extremely interesting and delicious. The main course was the potpourri “Oktopussy St.” and it was tender and soft, my husband was completely blown away and still raves about it. I myself ordered the Parmesan risotto and it was the tastiest risotto I have ever eaten. Unfortunately, the second service colleague had forgotten our wine order, but apologized several times as we poured it, because the restaurant was now full. People were even sent away without reservations. All in all, a very interesting experience in terms of taste, but also intense in terms of price.

Map reads excellently, but is more appearance than reality. Plates arranged chaotically and overloaded, a thousand components in one dish, but none of which stands out. Unimaginative greeting from the kitchen, according to the motto that something has to go. Unfortunately, my husband's Tatar was gray and had therefore seen better days. An absolute no-go, especially when it comes to raw meat, if not even a health risk. The motto that used to be everything was better is not true when I live, but it applies to this restaurant. If it regains its old strength, we'll be happy to come back! Otherwise not anymore... Service was very friendly and attentive, even if it seemed stressed. But probably thanks to the lack of staff!

The atmosphere is very chic and yet makes you feel comfortable. The dishes are of good quality and very, very nicely prepared. The service was very attentive. All in all, it's harmonious and it's hard to believe that even in this very good restaurant you can find a penalty. The espresso was far too bitter and the sugar/sweetener only came after repeated requests and was simply thrown on the table. I know it differently and would have expected it to be a little more elegant in this restaurant. Nevertheless, a wonderful restaurant that is highly recommended. We were there a second time and we won't be back, one of the restaurants slouches on the counter and is somehow over it and the ox cheeks had a very special taste and a piece of my salad with salmon was still slimy. It's not great that there were 5 cooks idle in the kitchen (at 6 p.m.).

The Oktopusy Restaurant is located in the middle of Norderney in the city center. It is an absolutely great, beautifully modern but comfortably furnished. It is very well maintained. The staff was very nice, courteous and attentive. The service is absolutely top. The food, the menu was very, very good. Wine and drink selection is very good. There is also a relaxed outdoor area in the yard.

On the day of our visit our reservation was not found. They now tried to see if there was a way to accommodate us, but found that the actual table occupancy differed from the planned occupancy recorded in the book. And then there was probably also a booking program that caused additional confusion. Finally, after about 20 minutes, we were told that we had no solution to the problem and that there had been or were problems with telephone reservations that were accepted through the hotel at lunchtime. However, since the restaurant was highly recommended to us, we decided to make a reservation again, this time via the booking site with booking confirmation. In the reservation form we noted that this was our second attempt because our first reservation was botched. When we arrived, we couldn't find our reservation again. But they said that they had already read our reservation somewhere. The same game started again. Tables were occupied that shouldn't be occupied. In the meantime we thought we had fallen for the hidden camera. Unfortunately, this turned out to be wrong. After we became more energetic, we were given a table. There was a lack of knowledge about the daily menu, so we found out ourselves. We ordered and after a short time our daughter received her main course. Since she had also ordered a starter from the main menu, her main course unfortunately had to go back. The waitress apologized because she had assumed that the starters were for the parents. But why the main course for our daughter was served before the supposed starter for her parents remains an open question. When the aperitif was served, something stuck to the inside of the glass. In my opinion it was a berry seed and not a fly as first thought. Some time later, however, when a lady had her aperitif returned because she saw something on the side of the glass and the waiter was holding the glass and the height and it looked exactly like mine, the thought occurred to me that it was the same thing, poorly washed glass could act. After that everything was ok until we had just finished the main courses. A waitress suddenly put her hand over her mouth and ran, choking, through the restaurant towards the toilet, which we were on the way to. There she vomited loudly and then returned to the service. She held her stomach and continued making drinks. None of the staff cared. I went and asked if everything was ok, she said yes and continued working. Then she spoke to another service person and pointed in our direction. She came to our table to apologize for the booking dilemma and offer us dessert. There was no mention of the sick colleague. We skipped the dessert offered and said we had lost our appetite. We asked why the sick employee continued to work in service. They replied that they didn't know she was vomiting. In the meantime, the employee continued to work and hold her stomach. It was then decided to waive the bill for us. The employee was still working when we left the store.

Leider konnte am Tag unseres Besuchs unsere Reservierung nicht gefunden werden, die wir ca. zwei Wochen zuvor telefonisch gemacht hatten. Man versuchte nun zu schauen, ob sich eine Möglichkeit findet uns unterzubringen, stellte jedoch fest, dass die tatsächliche Tischbelegung von der geplanten, im Buch eingetragenen Belegung abwich. Und dann gab es wohl auch noch ein Buchungsprogramm, dass zusätzlich für Verwirrung sorgte. Schlussendlich traf man nach ca. 20 Minuten die Aussage, dass man keine Lösung für das Problem hätte und es schon mal Probleme mit telefonischen Reservierungen gab bzw. gibt, die mittags über das Hotel angenommen werden. Da uns das Restaurant jedoch sehr empfohlen wurde, haben wir uns entschieden, erneut und dieses Mal über die Buchungsseite mit Buchungsbestätigung zu reservieren. In dem Reservierungsformular hatten wir vermerkt, dass dies unser zweiter Versuch ist, da unsere erste Reservierung verbummelt wurde. Als wir ankamen, fand man erneut unsere Reservierung nicht. Man sagte aber, dass man unsere Reservierung irgendwo schon gelesen hätte. Das gleiche Spiel ging wieder los. Tische waren besetzt, die nicht besetzt sein sollten. Zwischenzeitlich dachten wir, wir wären der versteckten Kamera auf den Leim gegangen. Dies stellte sich leider als falsch heraus. Nachdem wir nun energischer wurden, erhielten wir aber einen Tisch. Wir bestellten und schon nach kurzer Zeit erhielt unsere Tochter ihr Hauptgericht. Da sie zudem aber auch eine Vorspeise aus der Hauptkarte bestellt hatte, musste ihr Hauptgericht leider wieder zurückgehen. Die Servicekraft entschuldigte sich, denn sie hatte angenommen, dass die Vorspeisen für die Eltern sind. Weshalb aber das Hauptgericht für unsere Tochter noch vor der vermeintlichen Vorspeise für die Eltern serviert wurde, bleibt offen. Als der Aperitif serviert wurde, klebte etwas innenliegend im Glas. Meiner Meinung nach war es ein Beerenkorn und nicht, wie zuerst angenommen eine Fliege. Als einige Zeit später aber eine Dame ihren Aperitif zurückgehen ließ, weil sie an der Seite des Glases etwas sah und der Kellner das Glas und die Höhe hielt und es genauso aussah wie bei mir, kam mir der Gedanke, dass es sich um das gleiche, schlecht gespülte, Glas handeln könnte. Danach war erstmal alles ok, bis wir die Hauptspeisen gerade beendet hatten. Eine Servicekraft hielt sich plötzlich die Hand vor den Mund und rannte würgend durch das Restaurant Richtung Toilette, auf deren Weg wir uns befanden. Dort übergab sie sich laut und kehrte dann wieder in den Service zurück. Sie hielt sich den Bauch und bereitete weiter Getränke zu. Niemand des Personals interessierte das. Ich ging hin und fragte, ob alles ok sei, sie sagte ja und arbeitete weiter. Dann sprach sie mit einer anderen Servicekraft und zeigt in unsere Richtung. Diese kam an unseren Tisch um sich nun für das Buchungsdilemma zu entschuldigen und uns einen Nachtisch anzubieten. Von der kranken Kollegin war kein Rede. Wir verzichteten auf den angebotenen Nachtisch und sagten, dass uns der Appetit vergangen ist. Wir fragten weshalb die kranke Mitarbeiterin weiter im Service arbeitet. Man erwiderte, dass man nicht gewusst hätte, dass sie sich übergeben musste. Die Mitarbeiter arbeitete in der Zwischenzeit weiter und hielt sich auch weiter den Bauch. Man entschloss sich daraufhin uns die Rechnung zu erlassen. Die Mitarbeiter arbeitete auch noch als wir den Laden verließen.

Leider ist nach früheren sehr positiven Besuchen ein deutlicher Qualitätsverlust feststellbar. Beim Octopus Carpaccio sollte schon Octopus auf dem Teller sein und die extreme Schärfe des Gerichts zumindest vorher aufgeführt werden und nicht jegliche Geschmacksempfindung unmöglich machen. Auch wäre es schön, wenn beim Duett vom Wolfsbarsch und Helgoländer Hummer auch Hummer zu finden wäre und nicht nur Restbestände davon in einer breiartigen Anrichtung. Positiv ist nur der bemühte Service zu erwähnen. Sehr schade!

What a spectacular find on Norderney. They design is groovy and the service colorful but wow, did the food surprise. This was one of the best meals I had. The octopus starter was fantastic and the halibut main course a dream. It was perfectly cooked, the sides were the perfect addition of flavors and the presentation was beautiful. Definitely a must visit when on the island. They even made a vegetarian amuse bouche for my daughter.

Schickes Restaurant im Hotel New Wave. Gelungene Einrichtung, modern und doch gemütlich, auch hier zeigt sich die gewisse Eleganz in Form von Gläsern und Geschirr, dazu passende Blumendeko und tollen Bildern von Noah Becker. Die Speisekarte bietet eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten und Menüs, sehr vielfältig und für jeden Geschmack. Der Gruß aus der Küche und das selbst gebackene Brot mit Oel, Salz und Griebenschmalz machen Lust auf's Essen. Unsere Vorspeise und das Hauptgericht hat hervorragend geschmeckt und war dazu sehr gut angerichtet. Die Weinkarte hat ebenfalls viel zu bieten, gut sortierte Auswahl verschiedener Anbaugebiete. Der Service ist unaufdringlich freundlich und hatte alles im Blick. Fazit: ein gelungener Abend und sehr zu empfehlen!!

Wir hatten uns auf Empfehlung einen Tisch reserviert. Als wir ankamen gähnte die Dame an der Rezeption bereits, war wohl ein langer Tag bis dahin. Alle sind per Du, als ob wir schon zusammen gefeiert hätten, haben wir aber nicht und werden wir mit Sicherheit auch nicht. Das Lokal ist ganz nett eingerichtet, so wie man ein modernes Lokal heutzutage denkt einrichten zu müssen, dunkel und Lichtakzente - fertig. Servietten auf dem Tisch und schweres Besteck - hatte einen unglücklichen Schwerpunkt und viel dem Personal beim Abräumen auch gerne mal laut scheppernd auf den Boden. Das Essen war soweit ok. Der Gruss aus der Küche - Muschelsuppe - wurde abgelehnt, ich esse keine Muscheln, wofür ich jedoch böse angeschaut wurde. Nun ja… die Kürbissuppe mit Eiseinlage (irgendwas mit Zitrone) und einem groben Stück Kürbis war ok. Wie eine Kürbissuppe halt schmeckt. Der Kokosschaum war schaumig. Im Hauptgang gab es Ochsenbacken mit Wirsing. Als das Essen kam hatte man die Vermutung eine geräucherte Makrele zu bekommen, wie sich herausstellte war der geräucherte Kartoffelwürfel schuld, dass alles nach geräuchertem roch. Schade für die anderen Komponenten. Auch brauche ich keine kandierten Walnüsse zum Rindfleisch und der Wirsing entpuppte sich als ein labbriges Blatt, was auf dem Gericht lag. Alles in Allen, das Fleisch war gut, die Aromen unterdrückt, die Tellersprache ausbaufähig. Zu guter letzt, das Selleriepürree, eine Mousseline, sehr sahnig. Ein Dessert wollten wir dann nicht mehr. Nun ja im Ergebnis: man sollte nicht jeder Empfehlung folgen.

We went there for dinner the day before Christmas Eve. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. I would like to contradict the statement made by my previous reviewer. The toilets are well maintained and easily accessible on the ground floor; in other Norderney restaurants the toilets are often in the basement. As far as I know, disabled-accessible toilets are only available in the public facilities listed by the city of Norderney on the website, and some even have the option of unlocking access yourself using the Euro disabled key. In the entrance area of Costa's there is an approx. 7 cm high landing marked with signal foil. In my opinion, access is therefore quite possible and corresponds to the height of lowered road curbs. We look forward to our next visit to Costa.
