Die Preise sind völlig aus dem Ruder gelaufen. Glas heißes Wasser mit Teebeutel für €5,00 ist überzogen. Zumal Tee ein Aufgussgetränk ist und der Beutel separat lag.

Essen war echt lecker, Bedienung sehr nett, kein direkter Strand Blick, dafür gemütliches Dünen-Flair. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Sehr schöne Location, mit toller Atmosphäre 👍

Unser Besuch im Strandpieper auf Norderney war leider enttäuschend. Das Rinder-Carpaccio war kaum genießbar: fade im Geschmack und zudem von Teller zu Teller unterschiedlich in der Farbe. Nach unserer Beanstandung wurde immerhin angekündigt, dass eine Portion nicht berechnet werde. Der Wolfsbarsch als Hauptgang war in Ordnung, das dazu servierte Püree jedoch klebrig und von unangenehmer Konsistenz. Auch der vom Kellner stolz angepriesene Gurkensalat „aus eigener Herstellung“ schmeckte kaum anders als industriell massenhaft produzierte Gurkensalate. Besonders skurril wurde es am Ende: Nachdem wir bereits bezahlt hatten und noch auf dem Weg zur Toilette waren, kam uns der Kellner mit einer Fürst-Pückler-artigen Eiskreation entgegen und fragte, ob wir noch ein Dessert „aufs Haus“ möchten. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatten wir darauf verständlicherweise keine Lust mehr – und der Zeitpunkt wirkte eher befremdlich als gastfreundlich.

Nun mal eben kurz ganz entspannt durchatmen. Fast 50 DM für Backfisch Pommes... Na gut. Ein Versuch ist es wert. In der entlegensten Lokation von Norderney. Sehr feine Außenterrasse. Super nette Menschen. Spielplatz. Musik. Sonne oder Schatten, jeder so, wie er/sie/* mag... Also los. Lecker Getränke und dann Backfisch Pommes und ne Pizza. Zuerst die Pizza: sowas erlebst du sonst nirgends! Ziegenkäse, Rucola, OK... Aber lecker Poppkorn und Walnuss und Parmesan und rote Beete und Balsamnico... Eine Geschmacksexplosion... Großartig... So. Und nun dieses normalerweise 7,50€ Gericht. Backfisch Pommes. Steht schon als Fish and Chips auf der Karte mit belgischen Kartoffelsticks... Für mich als Niederländer nur sehr schwer zu ertragen... Schließlich haben WIR die Pommes erfunden... Also: den Schneid muss man erstmal haben, dieses Gericht für fast 50DM anzubieten. Ja, ich rechne noch um und nein, ich bin kein Boomer. . . und dann bringt der sehr nette Mensch mir ein Pfännchen an den Tisch in dem mein Gericht ruht. Die totale Extase aus saftigem Fischfilet, besten Kartoffeln, sehr feiner Remoulade, frischen Zwiebeln und eingelegten Gurken und Rucola... Episch... Wie selbstverständlich mit einer Kuchengabel serviert. Alles andere wäre lächerlich oder dumm... Vielen Dank für diesen wundervollen Abend auf Muschelkalk... @Herr Loth(Kurdirektor): Die Insel endet nicht an der Promenade...

Perfekt ! Lockere Servicekraft, Persönliche Ansprache. Komischerweise in der abgelegensten Ecke nur Kartenzahlung möglich , wieso kriegen das die anderen Betriebe in der Stadt nicht hin?

Haben nichts gegessen, daher hierfür keine Bewertung. Man sitzt super aber die Getränkepreise sind echt überzogen.

Schönes Café in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand und an der Bushaltestelle. Kleine aber feine Karte mit allerlei Köstlichkeiten. Freundliches und stressresistentes Personal. Preise inseltypisch. Wir sind immer gerne dort 🤗

Wir haben auf unserer Fahrradtour eine kurze Pause im Strandpieper eingelegt, um etwas zu trinken. Wir saßen bei sehr schönem Wetter draußen auf der Terrasse. Diese ist sehr schön und mit den Bäumen sehr gemütlich. Zur Qualität des Essens kann ich nichts sagen, aber die Gerichte auf der Speisekarte sind schon recht teuer.

Super teuer. Als Beispiel: ein Hefe-Weizen kostet 7,50€. Macht dann einfach nicht mehr so viel Spaß. Aperol Spritz 12€!

Mir ist selten so unfreundliches Personal begegnet

Leider kein Einlass eine Stunde bevor das Restaurant schließt.

Das Strandpieper hat nicht direkt etwas mit dem Strand zu tun wie einige Fotos suggerieren. Es liegt gut geschützt hinter dem Deich am Nordstrand von Norderney direkt an einem großen Parkplatz und an der Wendeschleife der Buslinien 4 und 8. Vom Leuchtturm aus gibt es einen wunderschönen Weg durch die Dünenlandschaft, ca 10-15 Minuten Gehzeit. Die Gastronomie haben wir nicht getestet sondern sind von hier direkt am Strand Richtung Stadt gelaufen. Traumhafter Weg zum Entschleunigen.

Portion Pommes für 11 €. Ich glaube nicht.

We went there for dinner in the fall. We took a bus there and a taxi back. The service was really nice and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, it was quiet (which is why we deducted the ambiance rating), which is probably due to the prominent location. You can imagine it being really nice on the terrace in the summer. I can recommend it, but I would go there for lunch at the end of October. The small deduction for the food is only because the menu was slightly reduced shortly before the end of the season.

Always a great place to be! Definitely worth a visit for the delicious food, friendly staff, and great location. See you next year.

Unfortunately, it's completely overpriced! After our visit to the lighthouse with several people, we wanted to stop here for coffee and cake, but then left. €5.90 for a latte macchiato, €7.90 for a slice of cake, €3 for a scoop of ice cream... Sorry, but no!

If I had visited the Strandpieper last year, I would have given it 4-5 stars. This has now changed! Firstly, the service wasn't unfriendly, but seemed overwhelmed. The ambiance also resembled a cafeteria. However, that doesn't seem to be the goal, considering the prices. The Margherita pizza alone cost €16 and tasted like a frozen pizza. Another negative point was the Wiener Schnitzel (€31). While tasty, it seemed to have come out of a deep fryer. The mashed potatoes served with it were just okay! The problem was that it was made with truffle oil, which wasn't listed on the menu and didn't match the taste.

The fries are very good but ridiculously expensive. The currywurst was okay. The service was probably on a bad day, but if you only go there once, you'll get a lasting impression. Basically, a nice beach kiosk with restaurant prices.

We wanted to arrive at 11:00 a.m., but the staff literally left us standing in the rain. We were told to come back 10 minutes later because they wanted to have a smoke first. We then sheltered in a nearby wooden hut with our bikes. At 11:15 a.m., we were kindly waved in. From then on, everything was great.

The Strandpieper on Norderney is highly recommended! The mega currywurst is a real highlight – super delicious and perfectly seasoned. Add to that the friendly, attentive staff, who immediately welcome you and create a relaxed atmosphere. The large sun terrace is particularly lovely, where, in good weather, you can enjoy the sea view and the fresh North Sea air. A perfect place to treat yourself after a stroll on the beach. I'll definitely be back – a real must for every Norderney visitor! 🌞🌊🌭

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service. After politely requesting two additional chairs at our table, we were moved to another table without explanation. The response seemed unnecessarily abrupt and unfriendly. Even a later reminder about the tone of the conversation didn't improve things, so we decided to leave the restaurant.

Mediocre coffee, relatively expensive. It's normal that coffee is more expensive on the island, but €5.20 for a cup is pretty decent. The fact that the service is unfriendly is the worst.

Our visit to your beer garden was surprisingly unpleasant. A group of eight people sat behind us, who took over the entire space with their roaring and were served extremely courteously, while we waited a long time and were treated rudely. Think carefully about the kind of clientele you want there. Three beers in an hour is obviously more lucrative. In any case, you won't notice anything about a supposedly high-quality establishment in the afternoon.

A few years ago, the food was very good, but unfortunately, I no longer recommend it. High prices for some dishes that aren't homemade. For example, €18.50 for a frozen pizza. Unfortunately, it wasn't tasty.

We signed up for the 3-course surprise menu for 3 people. The portions were much too large for a set menu, so we had the impression it was just three dishes from the daily special. The appetizer was very deliciously prepared. The fish main course was also delicious, but the meat main course was served with poultry instead of meat, which was swimming in a red wine jus that didn't quite match the flavor. The 4th person had fish with an extremely large amount of salad and too much dressing, unfortunately unappealing. It's a shame, good food is different.

It was our first and last time there. The menus and leaflets were messed up on the tables, as they all had to be placed upside down. Expensive prices and nothing special about the ambiance. One waitress spoke very loudly, entertaining half the place, which was very distracting and unfriendly. We'd rather go to the WEISSEN DÜNE, where everything is tipi-topi.

Brazenly cheeky fries with mayo or ketchup cost 10 euros and no cash payment possible; you should avoid such shops on principle.

While the first impression of the restaurant was very positive, this was unfortunately not confirmed by the staff. The welcome from the (male) service staff was very rude, and one got the impression that they would rather not have customers. The friendliness when taking orders also left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, many items were not delivered as ordered or were forgotten altogether. While the food and drinks were good, they couldn't make up for the poor service. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend the Strandpieper!

Used to be great, but not our cup of tea anymore. 10 euros for a fries. At least they used to be Belgian-style, deliciously dressed with onions and coriander. And now they have exorbitantly priced pizzas. I'd rather eat them at an Italian restaurant. It's a shame. It used to be a nice place to stop for a stroll on the beach. But this price-performance ratio is bad for you. That's it. Never ever.

Someone here doesn't need any sales in peak season! At 10:30 a.m. today we found ourselves standing in front of the restaurant's closed doors. No phone number. No opening hours on the noticeboard. Someone can move to the table at any time. When we asked when it would open, we received the very curt and succinct answer: 11:30 a.m. By then there were about 10-14 people there, who were also pressing their noses against the noticeboard. There were four of us and we would have liked something to eat and drink. Only those who stubbornly stick to their opening hours and thus forgo sales can probably afford it. As a dedicated sales manager, I cannot understand it at all! Thanks for nothing! Therefore, I will not recommend this restaurant and will not visit it on my next visit to the island.

I can 100% recommend this place. The food is fantastic, the service is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's a pure vacation. Parking is available and it's close to the beach.

We stayed until lunch. It was actually a bit overpriced, but that's just how it is in a tourist area... I found the waiter unfriendly. He didn't seem to know the words hospitality or welcoming. It's a shame to work in such a place. The location is great, but the service has a lot of room for improvement.

We celebrated our wedding here. Planning with the restaurant manager and the on-site team was straightforward; they accommodated all our requests, even last-minute changes to the plans, and truly designed everything exactly according to our wishes. On the wedding day, everything was absolutely perfect: the food was delicious, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the location was simply amazing, and all of the guests were extremely happy. We would celebrate with you again anytime and had the best day we could have imagined!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A culinary highlight on Norderney – always an experience! We visited the Strandpieper again last Wednesday – and just like our previous visits, it was a thoroughly successful evening. The surprise menu for €49 per person is and remains an absolute must: creative, balanced, prepared with attention to detail – and simply delicious. A real highlight are the freshly baked rolls beforehand, served with a small, fine selection of olive oils and various salts. This alone sets the mood wonderfully for the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed, stylish, yet informal – perfect for a special evening by the sea. The service was attentive, warm, and competent, as you could wish for. Whether it was the appetizer, main course, or dessert: everything was perfectly coordinated, superbly presented, and tasted top-notch. The accompanying drinks – especially the Aperol Spritz – rounded off the experience. The prices are absolutely appropriate for the high quality and fit seamlessly into the range of the corresponding restaurants in the village. The restaurant is easily accessible by island bus or taxi, and those with good walking skills can certainly also reach it on foot. It is located in the center of the island, near the airport, offering a pleasant change from the local restaurants. The atmosphere is casual, making it a great place to stop after a visit to the north beach, where the restaurant also has a small beach hut. Not only does the outdoor area have a great atmosphere, but on cooler days, the indoor seating is also very pleasant. I would also like to emphasize that you are served exclusively by trained professionals. The service is a delight. Conclusion: For us, the Strandpieper is an integral part of every stay on Norderney. If you want to enjoy excellent food in a beautiful atmosphere on the island, you can't miss this restaurant!

We used to go to this restaurant quite often, back when it was under a different management. There were three of us there, and the atmosphere was very nice and inviting, but unfortunately, the Coke was not enjoyable at all. The staff was unfriendly, and we ended up paying €18.50 for three drinks (a Coke, a non-alcoholic beer, and an iced tea). We probably won't be back!

It was another great evening! The surprise menu was exceptional, and the prices were moderate and absolutely reasonable. The service was excellent and very attentive. As a guest, it's truly a pleasure to feel appreciated and to experience a thoroughly enjoyable evening in a beautiful setting. A taxi was immediately called for us on the way home, and we sincerely thanked the Strandpieper team. Highly recommended and worth every penny! Go there and try the surprise menu ☺️

We wanted to stop here with the kids after a long bike ride. The staff was obviously not having their best day today; they didn't say anything more than a quick hello. We needed a little more time to choose – but when we saw the prices, we immediately got up. We're happy to pay more, especially considering the location. We also enjoy eating at other upscale restaurants on the island. But €10 for a fries, the cheapest meal, and €5 for a small coffee are absolutely no longer justified – especially since the location here means a view of the parking lot. What a shame! We used to really enjoy coming here.

Het ziet er mooi uit en eerlijk is eerlijk er zijn niet veel alternatieven maar de keuken viel tegen, de frietjes waren prima, de broodjes zelf afgebakken maar niet gaar. De prijzen aan de hoge kant: cola 6 euro, wijntje 8 euro. Sanitair is keurig en gelijkvloers

Finally, my favorite Hawaiian pizza is available at Strandpieper! Plus a bottle of chilled Pinot Gris – all for a fair €37.50. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and a really cool location. Perfect for a relaxing break. I'll definitely be back!

Update 2025: Unfortunately, the Strandpieper has lost some of its appeal. The menu is significantly smaller and more geared toward quick meals. For example, there are all kinds of pizzas – but if I want pizza, I go to the Italian restaurant. And unfortunately, the prices are extremely high. A non-alcoholic wheat beer costs €7.50, a 0.33 liter Coke costs €4.50. The pizza Margherita costs a whopping €16.50, and the currywurst with fried onions and fries costs €19.90. Sorry, but this has significantly reduced my five-star rating. My original review from 2024: We were at the Oasis Beach and then stopped at the Strandpieper restaurant. Even from the outside, the place looks very inviting. First of all: All expectations were fully met. The service is very friendly and accommodating, the food is creative and very good, and the location is extremely cozy. It's a wonderful place to enjoy a drink, just an ice cream, coffee and cake, or a nice dinner. We've been here four times in total, so we have a good overview ;) We were thrilled each time – and each time we came away with many positive impressions. Since we enjoyed it so much on all our visits, we even reserved a table for our last day of vacation. On my first visit, I had the giant currywurst with Belgian fries. It's actually a very simple dish, but if you're a creative chef, you can conjure up something truly special. The curry sauce was second to none. And the Belgian fries were served in a large can of Beluga caviar. You can't imagine the silly face I made when I was served a currywurst with Beluga caviar :) My companion had salmon with fresh salad and a delicious tomato foam. When we were there for lunch, we had a piece of rhubarb and strawberry cake and an iced coffee. Both were – what else – delicious. On our third visit, my companion and I had braised beef that had been cooked for 24 hours. This was also extremely delicious. On the last evening of our vacation, we were surprised by the kitchen. First, we had a cocktail, followed by a welcome from the kitchen. This consisted of homemade rolls with an unparalleled arugula and garlic pesto. Also served with three different olive oils: one with chili, one with caraway, and one just plain. Add pepper, a spice mix, or salt. For starters, I had (since I don't eat fish) beef teriyaki with various garden herbs. Super delicious! My companion had shrimp in a delicious breading with soy sauce and cucumber salad. This was also particularly delicious. The drinks were brought along with the starters. Here, too, we were surprised. My wife got another cocktail. Since I wanted a red wine and got one, they chose a Red Ginger, a cocktail with raspberries, for her to complement the color. I got a Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon. The main course was corn-fed chicken on truffled purée and green asparagus. The plates were decorated with truffle foam and an edible orchid. For dessert, we had crème brûlée with mango sorbet and a hint of cotton candy. Afterward, we had an espresso, and we were both completely happy. We've been here four times now and have been thrilled four times. In that respect, the full score, or rather the maximum number of stars, is more than justified. For us, this is the absolute winner of all the restaurants we've visited here on Norderney. And we'd love to come back!

The atmosphere is fantastic – perfect for a special evening for two. The food was outstanding: fresh, creative, and prepared with love. The sea bass, in particular, was a dream – you can taste the good quality and freshness of the products. The thai curry was very, very tasty, especially with fresh and still crunchy vegetables. SIMPLY DELICIOUS!! Praise for the kitchen!! The service was also top-notch: attentive, friendly, and very professional. A beautiful place where you immediately feel at home and would love to stay longer. We will definitely be back – a clear RECOMMENDATION for anyone who appreciates good food and a relaxed, maritime atmosphere. Thank you for the great evening!!

We ate at the Strandpieper last summer (twice) and again this week (once). I was very excited this time, as I'd read some negative reviews in the meantime. But it's always good to see for yourself. Yes, you should check the prices beforehand and be prepared to spend a little more. And yes, you should know that you can only pay by card. BUT: We were very satisfied last year and this year as well. The food is delicious and lovingly prepared. And it's one of the few restaurants where I, as a vegan, can get a starter, main course, and dessert 😊 We will definitely be back.

Good place otherwise extortionate!!

Now you can only pay by card – hardly anything is going on anymore, half the terrace is empty – I can understand why: the price-performance ratio is completely out of whack – even for "Norderney prices." A Hawaiian pizza with a bottle of Pinot Gris (the combination is a matter of taste) was the daily special for €48. Too expensive for what you get. Plus, the unfriendly, annoyed service staff.

One thing to note: we knew about the exorbitant prices beforehand. So, we could have easily decided not to eat or drink there. But we deliberately ordered something anyway. If I were to rate the food (carpaccio pizza + homemade farmhouse bread with aioli) without considering the value for money, I would give it 3 stars. The regular-sized pizza, for an unbelievable €22.90 (!!), was better than the homemade farmhouse bread, which, quite frankly, tasted as bland as ready-made dough from the refrigerated section. The aioli was also just average. And all that for €8.90! A small shandy wasn't available for less than €4.90 either. At these extraordinary prices, in a not particularly chic beach restaurant, you expect at least exceptionally good food. But that was certainly not the case here. We will return to Norderney many, many times, but due to the disastrous value for money, we will never visit the Strandpieper again. I really don't mean any harm, and others may feel differently. But I've rarely received so little for so much money.

Oat milk costs 60 cents extra… long time no see!

After a long walk, we visited for the first (and probably last) time. Prices are simply exorbitant: €7.50 for a bottled wheat beer! The value for money isn't right, and the location isn't particularly good either; it overlooks the parking lot. A glance at the menu put us off our appetite. For example, they're asking €9.90 for 20 French fries, which is completely ridiculous.

We visited the Strandpieper and were completely impressed. The location is beautifully situated and has just the right blend of style and comfort. We had the goat cheese and the carpaccio – both were truly delicious. We were particularly impressed by the relaxed music mix and the attentive, friendly service. We felt very comfortable and would definitely come back!

Norderney is expensive. But this is outrageous. Currywurst 20 euros, fries 10 euros. The prices aren't written in numbers, but rather in words. It's kind of clever, so you don't immediately notice how incredibly expensive everything is. Best to hop on the bus and drive away.

We ordered fish and chips today, looking forward to a delicious portion of fried fish. What arrived, however, were large portions of fries with a homeopathic amount of fried fish. Five tiny pieces of fried fish were draped around the fries, estimated at maybe 75g. But for €23.90 😳, it's completely overpriced... It should really be called chips with a side of fried fish, which would be more accurate. Half a beer for €4.90 is also pretty steep...

Unfortunately, the staff was overwhelmed and unfriendly. It took a long time to order and pay. Like other guests, we should have gotten up and left. There was no feel-good factor, and the value for money was far from right.

A wonderful place to stop. The service was very attentive and friendly. Dogs are welcome. We only had a small snack. We really liked the selection of snacks (especially something "different"). The food was excellent and very attractively presented. The small lounge area for chilling was extremely cool and cozy. A clear recommendation! We'd be happy to come back.

We especially appreciated the playground being right next door – ideal for families with children who want to let off steam while parents can enjoy themselves in peace. A big compliment also to the team: Everyone was incredibly helpful and accommodated special requests. This kind of service is no longer a given these days! We'll definitely be back.

I ordered the Thai curry today. Unfortunately, it was completely tasteless. It also had green asparagus, which I don't like. Even with salt, this meal was unfortunately tasteless. The service was generally attentive, but unfortunately, it didn't do justice to the guests. The tables weren't wiped down in between meals, and unfortunately, it was very dirty. For 19 euros, the food is rather meager and simply tasteless.

We had reserved a table five days before our visit and sat in the corner facing the heater. When we asked to change, we were told we should have come earlier or please sit outside (15 degrees and rainy). Paid full price. The boss served us with sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a very unusual gold chain. Tastes differ. No, not recommended. We were on our bikes and wanted to stop for a quick bite. I can't comment on the food or drinks; we didn't get anything. The prices are very high: plum cake for almost 10 euros, a portion of fries for 9.90 euros. Prices aren't written out in numbers, but rather in full (e.g., 9 euros ninety). A rascal would think otherwise. The table next to us was unlucky; they were served, but first received their coffee, and the cake was forgotten. After waiting for almost half an hour, and the poor, overwhelmed waiter didn't even have time to take our order, we left the place and cycled somewhere else.

The food was good (€18.50 for a pizza). €7.50 for a 0.5l bottle of wheat beer and €4.90 for a 0.3l is definitely too much. The view wasn't of the sea, but of the parking lot. We're on the island for another week. We won't be coming back.

We were at the end of the island and, after what felt like 100 km, we were finally able to find our way back to civilization. The walk along Oasis Beach was fantastic. The Strandpieper was just the right place for a break. Excellent food, extremely friendly service, and the atmosphere was simply lovely and relaxed. Thank you very much, and see you soon!

A nice, but probably always pretty crowded, restaurant right on the vast sandy beach. We had beer and currywurst. If the price isn't too high for you, this is definitely recommended. The service was prompt despite the full house. However, one star is deducted for the almost outrageous prices.

5 stars – A true highlight on Norderney! We ate at the Strandpieper and were absolutely thrilled! The location right on the beach is fantastic, perfect for a long, relaxing visit. What's especially nice is that children are not just tolerated here, but warmly welcomed – you can immediately tell by the friendly atmosphere and the little touches for the little ones. The service was consistently attentive, quick, and incredibly warm. You just feel at home. We'll definitely be back!

Ridiculously high prices, making the food nowhere near worth it. The decor was functional but anything but clean. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere. The restrooms weren't clean either, and it smelled strongly. The staff seemed friendly at first, but when we finally received a very unclear and incorrect "bill" and they didn't even want to give us a receipt, the waiter became very rude. I wouldn't go back even if they halved the prices.
