The food is really great, the meat is of great quality, the fries were a bit salty but good, tasty portions. The service started off very unfriendly right from the start. The ordered table was half-heartedly pointed to without a word. The service was alone and overwhelmed given the full restaurant. Everyone around us received a greeting from the kitchen, but we didn't. The majority of the customers seemed to be familiar because as soon as someone came in the gentleman came out of the kitchen and greeted everyone. Everyone around us was asked for drinks, but we weren't. When we wanted to pay I was looked at ten times but always ignored. There was still a tip, which wasn't much because the service wasn't really great. The waitress seemed visibly annoyed and didn't even wish us a nice evening or anything else. Great food, unfortunately poor service.

Vegetarians are at a loss here, there are far too few options and very inflexible when you ask the staff about alternatives. Waiting times are not possible at all, you wait almost 2 hours for the food! No go! Food tastes great, A1. Really big praise there. Nice restaurant and tasty food. The owners were also the ones who welcomed and served us. All in all, a solid, charming restaurant. However, there are two main points of criticism 1. The sauces were thin as water, tasty but not thick 2. The grill plate came at a hefty price of around 25 euros, which would be fine if you were full. Dear owners, it really should have been a little more for such an amount. Overall, you can't do anything wrong by stopping there, but personally I would prefer an alternative if you have a big appetite.

Good food with nice service. The owners are very hard working. We sat in the winter garden and it was a bit of a strange atmosphere. Felt like being at home in the dining room only with lots of strangers. The chairs are very worn and the decoration is neglected (e.g. the lamps don't work on any of the tables).

Great place, really great!!! Kind, funny and fresh service as well as good understanding for your needs. Came at closing time, and restaurant was filled... Even so, They took us in, 3 grown men, and we had the best dinner ever. Food was perfect, the service was in top, and the whole atmosphere was perfect as well. Everybody cared for all, and it was an eye opener for me regarding restsurants in Germany, as this was tje first time i tried something like this in all Germany. Travelled thwre for 30 years +!!! Absolutely recommendable, quality food and service and really good prices. This is a Totally "MUST Go" if you are in cuxhaven and looking for a good meal and desert!

We were there yesterday and had reserved a table. It all worked out great. The service was very nice and while we waited there was bread with olive oil and salt, which was very tasty. The restaurant wasn't completely full, there were still tables available, but we waited 45 minutes for our food. That was really tasty but I wonder how long you wait when the restaurant is full.🤷🏼‍♀️

Hello! Were here for the first time. The reception alone was really friendly. The restaurant's facilities are a dream. Ate a rump steak with side salad. The steak was tender and super tasty. Price was surprisingly cheap. Steak and a Jever mushroom are a special treat. Would love to come back.

The food was great, but unfortunately the service was not at all. We arrived outside (near the harbor and were hungry) , and wanted to sit at a free and unreserved table. The older waitress then told us in an unfriendly manner that we should go in first and wait at the counter because all the tables were reserved. When I said that there was no sign on the table and so we wanted to sit down, the lady replied that there were probably just not enough signs (but here too, the sound makes the music). When we arrived inside (6 p.m.) she asked if we would be gone by 7:15 p.m. I said that we had just arrived and that I didn't know how long it would take for the food to be served. She then told us that we could sit outside at the last table on the edge (of the street). You should have left straight away, but we took a seat there. While we waited for our food, we were able to watch other guests arrive and simply sit down, where nothing was said because there were several of them. When our food came, which was really very good, the waitress asked if we liked it, which was again positive. After I paid and gave a tip despite the bad first impression, she said again that they were always full and so you should call ahead. We are not from Cuxhaven and only went on holiday there. Hospitality looks different.

Been there for the second time now, the food was good, the steak was grilled perfectly. Unfortunately, the waiting time was a catastrophe, that's really unacceptable, waiting 120 minutes for a meal is simply a no-go, especially the restaurant wasn't completely full. Unfortunately there was no compensation or apology. The men's toilet was a mess, the water was on the floor, the pipe from the toilet was also gone and needed to be completely renovated. Unfortunately I will avoid the restaurant in the future. Shame about the food.

The schnitzel is good, the portion is also decent & the price is okay for a tourist resort. The location and ambience are beautifully done and seem very inviting. Unfortunately, there was an extremely bad atmosphere in the shop as everyone waited well over an hour for their food. We waited 1 hour & 20 minutes. Other guests really messed around. That was very unpleasant. If you can't make it on one day due to e.g. understaffing, simply refuse guests. If it takes longer, just keep it up to date and offer free drinks. That would make everything better.

After 1 hour the salad came, after 1 hour 45 we left. Sham arguments and no excuse - on the contrary - it was impossible to wait 1 hour for the food!

One of our favorite places when it comes to schnitzel. Thinly pounded and crispy in the pan, with in-house homemade fries - super tasty....and the original Wiener Schnitzel is my absolute highlight for me - generally very, very fine meat the price/performance ratio is great. Modernly furnished and yet cozy, you can stay a while after your meal for an espresso or a cappuccino. It was a pleasure

As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to our previously reserved table. The drink order was quickly taken and before we ordered our dishes, we already had them. Since the restaurant was very busy, it only took a little longer until we received our dishes. The service did everything to make us feel comfortable. The schnitzels were very large and tasted excellent. Plus the sweet potatoes... just perfect. We'll definitely be back. ☆☆☆☆☆

There was no more greeting from the kitchen (it was always delicious pepperoni baquette with oil). Unfortunately, my "baked" Mediterranean schnitzel didn't have much to do with being gratinated and it didn't taste like anything. The specially ordered side salad just crackled in the mouth, it must have been washed quickly. Has the owner changed? There is also new staff... Compare the pictures of the same meal this year and last year.

We have been to Kuhlinaria several times. So far everything has always been good. However, something went wrong during our visit today. Half of the rump steak I ordered consisted of fat and the degree of doneness was not at all satisfactory. Medium is medium and not rare. The real highlight, however, was the fried fly under my son's schnitzel. A new meal was brought, but nothing else was offered to make amends. No discount, no drink, just nothing. I think it's a shame because we always enjoyed going to Kuhlinaria. By the way, one also has to complain about the condition of the hygienic facilities. A urinal may or may not be defective for 3 weeks. And the cleanliness can also be improved. Yes, I know, it now sounds like: something went wrong once and immediately everything is bad. But it's more the case that so far we've overlooked a lot of other things because of the good food.

The food was delicious and the staff was also super friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 different versions of schnitzel and both were great 👌. One came with croquettes and the other with fried potatoes. The best schnitzel in the district that me and my partner have eaten so far. So really recommended. We have lived in Cuxhaven all our lives and unfortunately it was the first time there 🙈 But now again and again.

Das Essen war gut, das Personal zwar bemüht , aber unqualifiziert und überfordert. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn die Bestellung so umgesetzt worden wäre, wie aufgegeben. Trotz (kurzfristiger) telefonischer Reservierung mussten wir ca. 20 Minuten warten. Weitere 30 Minuten haben wir am Tisch gesessen, ohne dass eine Bedienung erfolgte. Erst danach Konnten Getränke bestellt werden und wurden die Speisekarten gereicht.

First of all: There were two of us without a reservation and we got the last free table. Reservation in advance is recommended. The food was very tasty. Steaks are grilled to perfection, i.e. medium is delicate pink. The potato chips are a great alternative to the usual fries. Everything is very nicely and appetizingly prepared. And the staff is very friendly and attentive. We will be very happy to come back.

First of all, the Kuhlinaria was really very good. After our visit today we are thinking carefully about whether we want to be ripped off again. We had to wait a long time for service to arrive. They were all gathered at the counter and made no move to come to our table. You would think the restaurant was full. But that wasn't the case. There were relatively few guests there. The drink order was immediately forgotten. We also had to wait a long time for the bill, which was even wrong. Unfortunately, we only realized later that we had been overcharged for a schnitzel (€18.90!!!). The service was borderline, but being “cheated” out of almost €19 is not acceptable to us.

Wer einfach ein gutes Steak essen will ist hier richtig. Wer dies allerdings in einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre genießen möchte sollte hier nicht einkehren. Wir waren zu zweit und haben rechtzeitig reserviert. Gerade mit mehreren Leuten empfehle ich eine rechtzeitige Reservierung weil das Restaurant sehr voll ist. Aufgrund des Essens verstehe ich es......aufgrund des Services nicht. Das Rumpsteak mit selbstgemachten Pommes (waren zwar eher Chips aber lecker) war perfekt gebraten. Alles Speisen die ich gesehen habe sahen auch sehr gut aus. Alles zunichte macht allerdings der Service. Zum Nachtisch bestellten wir Espresso mit Tiramisu. Weil nicht klar war ob es Tiramisu gibt wollte die Servicekraft dieses erfragen. Es gab keine Rückmeldung aber dafür kam der Espresso.....und nach einer Viertelstunde dann Tiramisu.... ! Gemeinsam wäre es schon schön gewesen...... Rückfragen diesbezüglich waren schlecht möglich weil eine Mischung aus Hektik und Überforderung vorherrschte. Es wäre schon wenn vielleicht nicht so viele Gäste "durchgeschleust" werden und man dafür mehr beim Gast ist (und nicht nur bei denen die persönlich bekannt sind). Dann hat man auch Lust dort noch Getränke etc. zu bestellen. Wir wollten nur noch schnell zahlen und weg. Weil wir selbst beim Bezahlvorgang kaum wahrgenommen wurden schien das auch ganz Recht zu sein. Es wurde immerhin wieder ein Tisch frei.........

Die Antwort darauf hin war, man solle der Gastgeberin nicht ihren Job erklären. Somit müssten wir ohne Abendbrot gegessen zu haben, ins Hotel zurück

Catastrophe! We, with 4 people, had reserved for 7 p.m. At 9:15 p.m. we still had no food. When asked after 2.15 hours the owner became sour. Kitchen is totally overwhelmed. We left the restaurant without eating.

The schnitzel Hawaii tasted like nothing, the Jägerschnitzel the same. The Jäger sauce was the cream sauce from Knorr or Maggi. The fries were good, as were the fried potatoes. The service was friendly, but mercilessly overloaded and overwhelmed. We waited over an hour for the schnitzel. The restaurant didn't appeal to us at all.

I'm in Cuxhaven for the German Bowling Championships 🎳 and in a hotel nearby. Found the restaurant by chance this evening. And no regrets. There is nothing to criticize. The sauce was served separately, the potato chips in a basket. Hot and crispy. There is also nothing to complain about in terms of price. What more do you want. I stayed at Kuhlinaria for the first time on the recommendation of my holiday rental company. Unfortunately, it's also the last time. So Good We Came Back. This place is so good that it needs no plaudits from us. However, here goes: The food is delicious. We had perfectly cooked steaks the first night and enjoyed it so much we came back the next night for some tasty schnitzel. On a quiet Monday evening every table was full and the atmosphere was jumping. Anyone who might be bothered by not getting food instantly should go to a plastic fast-food chain rather than here. The pretty waitress (are we allowed to say that these days?) was working hard and succeeding in keeping everyone happy. The Kuhlinaria - the perfect place for very good schnitzels. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The food is always incredibly good, the service is always friendly. It is not easy to find an open restaurant on Sundays. Many are closed. This restaurant was open. Specialties are schnitzels and staeks. We had a delicious meal there. The service from the two pretty waitresses was excellent.

Today we ate here for the first time. We are very disappointed. We had 2 x bruschetta, the quantity was decent, but unfortunately the salad was sandy and the bread was very oily. For the main course, my husband had steak with pepper sauce and fries. He really liked the fries and sauce, unfortunately the meat had a very thick layer of fat and he wasn't asked about the degree of doneness, it was just at the limit that he could still eat it. I had the prawns with salad. Lettuce crunched between my teeth again, so I left it there. Gambas were okay. For dessert we ordered the dessert platter. You can't expect high-quality products for €7.50, but the small pancake was so dry and hard that you couldn't eat it. We're happy to pay a little more for good food, but I don't need to go out to eat for what we got today. Unfortunately, we also noticed that it wasn't that clean. Wooden separation between the rows of seats very dusty. Stamens on the ceilings. Our conclusion: once and never again. It's a shame, we were actually really looking forward to this visit.
