We had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent. As a starter we had bread with tomato sauce, garlic and feta. As the main course, a shepherd's skewer and one bifteki. Both dishes were accompanied by a very fresh and well-portioned mixed salad. There was also a portion of fries and a very tasty tzatziki each. Tastes great! Quality top! We'd love to come back!

One of the best Greek restaurants in Rhineland-Palatinate. I ate a “top” lamb skewer here. Nothing better in recent years.👍👍👍 Sauce, salad and fries were on point Excellent and freshly prepared. Today we were with 4 adults and 2 children (10 & 1 year). We were warmly welcomed by the service staff. The order went quickly and we were asked nicely if we wanted to get the dish for the little ones with the starter. Everything was fine up to this point. Then the salads came for us and then the 2 plates for 2 people each, the portions were more than enough, but our junior had to wait quite a long time for his gyro plate. It was a bit stupid for us at the table. Well, overall it didn't convince us. The table we were sitting at was quite small and we had to be careful that the little one didn't get to the hot plate.

Very nice restaurant with great service and excellent dishes

I walked here full of courage because of the good reviews, and the reception was friendly and attentive with the menu immediately. After consuming the drinks and food, we finally quickly received the starter. We started the starter cold or we already got the main course that made us feel nauseous. We quickly got everything in order because there was a large group of men who came to eat and otherwise we would have had to wait a long time for the main course. That is not our problem, but the problem that there were too few people in the kitchen. Now we had no choice, otherwise we would certainly have done it differently. The food looked tasty, but our enjoyment of an evening out was ruined, and we actually felt discriminated against because we were not Germans but Dutch. It's a pity that this evening was ruined in this way and that is why no tip was given when leaving. This case didn't deserve that. Too bad but unfortunately

Never had such tasty and tender meat before. A real experience to eat there. I have eaten at many Greek restaurants but this tops them all. Top top top! And the service is great and very friendly. Nothing is too much and everything is thought of.

Very nice restaurant with great food and great service

We were here on Saturday September 28th. The food in this restaurant is delicious, but the service is really very bad. After we were taken to our table it took 20 minutes before someone came to ask if we wanted something to drink. Then the starter arrived on time, but then it was quiet again for half an hour. Apparently the cook had then prepared our main course. When they brought it, everything from the starter was still on the table. However, it made no impression whatsoever. The restaurant was now half empty, but the staff was so busy with themselves that they still didn't pay attention to their guests. We were curious how long it would take before someone would ask us if we wanted anything, coffee or dessert, but that was a hopeless mission. In the end we paid and left. The food was very good but the service was really bad. Very unfortunate.

Es sollte ein Tisch im Vorfeld reserviert werden. Wir sind spontan eingekehrt ohne Reservierung, das Lokal war gut besucht Die nette Bedienung hat es noch möglich machen können, dort zu essen. Und es hat sich gelohnt, Geschmack war vorzüglich, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis perfekt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen die Lokalität gerne weiter.

Very good Greek and very fair service! We noticed that other customers were immediately informed that it could take longer to eat, and other advice was also very fair and honest!!! We ate outside which was very nice. The meal was excellent! Thank you! If we can, we'd love to come back!

This Greek restaurant absolutely deserves its good reviews. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and you sit very nicely, especially not so close together. From now on it will become an integral part of our Moselle tour. Clear recommendation.

Exceptionally delicious food!!!

Leider kamen wir nicht dazu, dort zu essen. Grund? Die Türe war zu und in der Tür stand eine Tafel. Auf dieser stand, dass das Restaurant am ABEND zu bleiben würde wegen technischen Schwierigkeiten. Alles gut, aber da leider nicht ersichtlich war, von wann das Schild war und ob es noch Gültigkeit hat, da es gerade 12 Uhr war, schauten wir mal durch die Fenster. Schließlich wurden draußen ja auch 3 Frauen bedient!!! Schön wäre es gewesen, wenn man einfach mal die Türe aufgemacht hätte und uns dann nett gesagt hätte, dass das Restaurant mittags dann auch noch nicht aufmachen kann. Statt dessen, gab es Kaffee und nette Worte für diese 3 Frauen und für uns ein lapidares an die Tür klopfen und auf die Tafel zeigen!!!! Einfach nur unmöglich und frech! Für Essen und Ambiente gebe ich netterweise mal 3 Sterne, abgeleitet aus den bisherigen Bewertungen!

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat there. Reason? The door was closed and there was a blackboard in the door. It said that the restaurant would be closed in the EVENING due to technical difficulties. Everything was good, but unfortunately it wasn't clear when the sign was from and whether it was still valid, as it was just 12 o'clock, so we took a look through the window. After all, 3 women were served outside!!! It would have been nice if they had just opened the door and then told us nicely that the restaurant couldn't open at lunchtime. Instead, there was coffee and nice words for these 3 women and for us a succinct knock on the door and point to the board!!!! Simply impossible and cheeky! I would kindly give 3 stars for the food and ambience, based on previous reviews!

We haven't eaten such good food in ages. First of all, tzatziki with flatbread, which was well seasoned. The meat on the Poseidon plate is super tender and well seasoned. Gyros gratinated with Metaxa sauce are ultra tasty, super tender and not overloaded with cheese and sauce. The rice with vegetables was great. Reservation necessary.

With 1 hour and 10 minutes until the food came, fries not through calamari half raw, even the nice service couldn't do much better. Does a cup of black coffee have to cost 4 euro 50?

We went to El Grego for the first time today, the service was very good, friendly and very attentive without being intrusive. The food, we had gyros, was excellent. We'd love to come back. What is very pleasant is that you can pay by card, which is unfortunately not standard on the Moselle.

Very friendly and courteous service. Food very tasty and good. Today after 4 years we were there again for dinner. Everything was delicious again and the guest room was renovated, very successful and beautiful. Thank you for your good quality even after 4 years.

Normally I don't write reviews, but in this case I can't agree with my conscience not to do so. Four of us were eating and were looking forward to Greek food. However, we were very disappointed with the food. The calamaris we ordered were not good and didn't taste good. The salads were probably served with ready-made dressing and left a very careless impression. The Poseidon record wasn't really convincing either. The goat cheese on the menu had also just been carelessly added and gave the impression that it had gotten lost on the plate. The service was also disappointing. Although the service was friendly, the guest simply wasn't taken care of. No questions were asked during the meal or the guest was checked on, so there was no feeling of being entertained. So in the end there was more of a feeling of unease. The ambience was also not convincing. At first it was very cold in the location, so you even had to sit there with a jacket to avoid freezing. The design of the restaurant also made a desolate and cold impression. It all seemed very old-fashioned. In the end, you get the impression that El Grego is more like a time machine back in 1995. The food, service and ambience gave you the impression that you were out of place. Therefore, the stay was not a pleasure but rather a disappointing undertaking. I would not recommend El Grego.

Popular restaurant, reservations are recommended. Professional, friendly service. Food was very good. There was a very good side salad with the grill plate. Meat was first class. Our wish to have bread instead of fries was fulfilled. And the bread was deliciously toasted and refined with cheese and garlic. Retzina was generously limited and at the end an ouzo from the house was just to my liking. Gladly again! P.S. We were there again yesterday. Mixed starter “Ouzo plate” and grilled plate “Acropolis plate” (see photo) were again great. It was exactly enough for 2 people. 5 star rating confirmed.

Delicious food, the dishes tasted delicious. We ordered 2x Fladen vom Grill as a starter. And a main course for 2 people, the service advised us that the main course was quite a lot and it was better to order 1x Fladen first. If it was not enough, it was no problem to order another starter. After sharing the first starter, we were happy with the advice. And the main course was more than enough. An ouzo to end the evening. All in all, delicious food. We will definitely come back again 😀

On August 20, 2024, we took a seat on the terrace around 8:00 PM. We were greeted kindly and given the menu. As a starter we chose Fladen Brot vom grill. This one was very tasty. As a main course we opted for the Akropolis platter. This was served with salad, rice, tzatziki and fries. The meat was wonderfully tender and well seasoned. The salad with feta, olives, tomatoes and cucumber was wonderfully fresh. The rice was very tasty with the homemade sauce. The tzatziki was delicious with different types of meat that were served on the platter. We both received an ouzo as a drink on the house. After sitting on the terrace for a while, we paid. If we are ever in the area again, we would like to eat there again.

Friendly, clean, tasty. We were greeted very friendly and served quickly. We ordered gyros gratinated with Metaxa sauce and we both liked it very much. One star deducted because the menu said rice, tzatziki and coleslaw, but neither of us saw any coleslaw. I was actually looking forward to that one the most. Without the salad it's a bit low for €17, but otherwise the restaurant tastes good and I recommend it

We had a wonderful meal with Christos and Anda! What flavors, what quality, what portions! We, as extremely demanding Greeks, will certainly return during our next stay on the Moselle. That says enough! August 2024: Have eaten here a few times now. Always top service, warm welcome and delicious food. Reservations are a must, even outside the weekends!

An extraordinary Greek restaurant that outshines everything you would normally think of. We had the ouzo starter plate and gyros with Metaxa sauce. I have never eaten the bread on the starter plate so deliciously. The service was committed and friendly, despite rush hour. Far from 0815!!! Big thank you and thumbs up.

We were there with 10 people and ordered a starter and a main course. There was a 2 hour wait between courses. After careful criticism there were no more drinks.

Yesterday we were there to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, we booked a table for 6 p.m. After a relatively quick intake of drinks and food, the first complaint came: the order was brought incorrectly, 3 antipasti plates were ordered, only 1 came...then a small plate came after the starter was served... which was just for 3 There were enough people, there were 10 of us... the mood then went downhill... no waiter came to the table anymore, not even when we asked or showed a hand, we were ignored. By now it was 8 p.m. and our food still hadn't arrived... when we asked when it would come, the answer came: "They just had a starter, the food won't come until 2 hours later, we'll just make all the other guests now". After waiting 2 hours in advance, my mother-in-law didn't feel like it anymore and demanded the bill to pay for what was ordered. Due to a misunderstanding, the owner then called the police with the words "we don't want to pay the bill". It was just a matter of things being on the bill that we never received. The police officers were very nice and laughed at the whole situation because they were prepared for something completely different. So all in all, I can't recommend eating there unless you say yes and amen to everything and are happy to wait 5 hours until something comes along.

It's a great place to eat. We have eaten at many Greek restaurants, but this is the best we have experienced.

Normally I don't write reviews about places I haven't eaten in, but in this case I have to make an exception. We sat down at a free table outside because we were really looking forward to a nice Greek meal. The waiter's first question was whether we had reserved - ok, we hadn't. She then vehemently pointed out to us several times that it might take some time to eat. After repeatedly asking how long, we finally found out that there were two larger groups in the restaurant, but she couldn't say how long that would last. She kept saying that it would definitely take longer to eat, but she couldn't say anything more specific about it. We wouldn't have had a problem waiting a bit and would have really enjoyed eating Greek. After we asked whether the gyros was seasoned with garlic or onions because we were allergic to them, we were only told that we shouldn't eat gyros instead of asking in the kitchen, as has been the case in all other restaurants so far ( unless the waiters knew). With the words we should just think about it, she then let us sit at the table. When someone is so obviously not in the mood... really amazing and we left again. Hopefully the couple who sat at the table shortly afterwards fared better.

Lange kein so gutes Bifteki gegessen. Gyros meiner Frau fanden wir doch noch unter all den Zwiebeln -:) Aber es war mehr Gyros als Zwiebeln. Hier stimmt noch das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Glg

I was there myself at the beginning of February and have to say that the restaurant looks inconspicuous from the outside. The food was absolutely outstanding. Service is perfect. El Grego is an absolute insider tip for fans of Greek cuisine. Unfortunately you can only give 5 stars here. In my opinion 10 out of 5 stars!!

Very attentive, nice and child-friendly staff and fantastic food. Went there twice with a larger group including several children. The staff was really super nice and very confident with the children. The food was really fantastic. I've never eaten Greek so well. We all enjoyed the food extremely well. Despite the 3 hour drive, I will definitely visit El Grego again.
