Super delicious food, friendly service

Delicious Greek dishes but we had to wait 70 minutes for our food, despite a reservation,

Popular restaurant, reservations are recommended. Professional, friendly service. Food was very good. There was a very good side salad with the grill plate. Meat was first class. Our wish to have bread instead of fries was fulfilled. And the bread was deliciously toasted and refined with cheese and garlic. Retzina was generously limited and at the end an ouzo from the house was just to my liking. Gladly again! P.S. We were there again yesterday. Mixed starter “Ouzo plate” and grilled plate “Acropolis plate” (see photo) were again great. It was exactly enough for 2 people. 5 star rating confirmed.

Best Greek food I have had outside of Greece. I cannot recommend this place enough. Friendly, informed staff, good service, and Tzaziki to die for.

Delicious food, the dishes tasted delicious. We ordered 2x Fladen vom Grill as a starter. And a main course for 2 people, the service advised us that the main course was quite a lot and it was better to order 1x Fladen first. If it was not enough, it was no problem to order another starter. After sharing the first starter, we were happy with the advice. And the main course was more than enough. An ouzo to end the evening. All in all, delicious food. We will definitely come back again 😀

On August 20, 2024, we took a seat on the terrace around 8:00 PM. We were greeted kindly and given the menu. As a starter we chose Fladen Brot vom grill. This one was very tasty. As a main course we opted for the Akropolis platter. This was served with salad, rice, tzatziki and fries. The meat was wonderfully tender and well seasoned. The salad with feta, olives, tomatoes and cucumber was wonderfully fresh. The rice was very tasty with the homemade sauce. The tzatziki was delicious with different types of meat that were served on the platter. We both received an ouzo as a drink on the house. After sitting on the terrace for a while, we paid. If we are ever in the area again, we would like to eat there again.

Very good tasty food. The prices are normal, the portions are very large. The staff is friendly, attentive and quick. Absolutely recommended.

Friendly, clean, tasty. We were greeted very friendly and served quickly. We ordered gyros gratinated with Metaxa sauce and we both liked it very much. One star deducted because the menu said rice, tzatziki and coleslaw, but neither of us saw any coleslaw. I was actually looking forward to that one the most. Without the salad it's a bit low for €17, but otherwise the restaurant tastes good and I recommend it

We had a wonderful meal with Christos and Anda! What flavors, what quality, what portions! We, as extremely demanding Greeks, will certainly return during our next stay on the Moselle. That says enough! August 2024: Have eaten here a few times now. Always top service, warm welcome and delicious food. Reservations are a must, even outside the weekends!

An extraordinary Greek restaurant that outshines everything you would normally think of. We had the ouzo starter plate and gyros with Metaxa sauce. I have never eaten the bread on the starter plate so deliciously. The service was committed and friendly, despite rush hour. Far from 0815!!! Big thank you and thumbs up.

We were there with 10 people and ordered a starter and a main course. There was a 2 hour wait between courses. After careful criticism there were no more drinks.

Yesterday we were there to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, we booked a table for 6 p.m. After a relatively quick intake of drinks and food, the first complaint came: the order was brought incorrectly, 3 antipasti plates were ordered, only 1 came...then a small plate came after the starter was served... which was just for 3 There were enough people, there were 10 of us... the mood then went downhill... no waiter came to the table anymore, not even when we asked or showed a hand, we were ignored. By now it was 8 p.m. and our food still hadn't arrived... when we asked when it would come, the answer came: "They just had a starter, the food won't come until 2 hours later, we'll just make all the other guests now". After waiting 2 hours in advance, my mother-in-law didn't feel like it anymore and demanded the bill to pay for what was ordered. Due to a misunderstanding, the owner then called the police with the words "we don't want to pay the bill". It was just a matter of things being on the bill that we never received. The police officers were very nice and laughed at the whole situation because they were prepared for something completely different. So all in all, I can't recommend eating there unless you say yes and amen to everything and are happy to wait 5 hours until something comes along.

It's a great place to eat. We have eaten at many Greek restaurants, but this is the best we have experienced.

Normally I don't write reviews about places I haven't eaten in, but in this case I have to make an exception. We sat down at a free table outside because we were really looking forward to a nice Greek meal. The waiter's first question was whether we had reserved - ok, we hadn't. She then vehemently pointed out to us several times that it might take some time to eat. After repeatedly asking how long, we finally found out that there were two larger groups in the restaurant, but she couldn't say how long that would last. She kept saying that it would definitely take longer to eat, but she couldn't say anything more specific about it. We wouldn't have had a problem waiting a bit and would have really enjoyed eating Greek. After we asked whether the gyros was seasoned with garlic or onions because we were allergic to them, we were only told that we shouldn't eat gyros instead of asking in the kitchen, as has been the case in all other restaurants so far ( unless the waiters knew). With the words we should just think about it, she then let us sit at the table. When someone is so obviously not in the mood... really amazing and we left again. Hopefully the couple who sat at the table shortly afterwards fared better.

The pork neck was the best thing I ate in Zell. This was the best restaurant I ate at in my three days in Zell.

Lange kein so gutes Bifteki gegessen. Gyros meiner Frau fanden wir doch noch unter all den Zwiebeln -:) Aber es war mehr Gyros als Zwiebeln. Hier stimmt noch das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Glg

I was there myself at the beginning of February and have to say that the restaurant looks inconspicuous from the outside. The food was absolutely outstanding. Service is perfect. El Grego is an absolute insider tip for fans of Greek cuisine. Unfortunately you can only give 5 stars here. In my opinion 10 out of 5 stars!!

We had a platter for 2 people. There was a large portion of salad, but it was very oily. The meat was okay, except for the lamb. However, we have eaten much tastier food

Sehr schönes griechisches Restaurant mit sehr nettem Personal. Bei dieser Speisekarte ist es echt sehr schwer sich für ein Gericht zu entscheiden. Preise sind okay, nicht übertrieben. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen groß. Ich kann dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

The food was OK, but nothing special. Unfortunately we had to wait a relatively long time for our dishes (approx. 45 minutes), and one of three dishes arrived about ten minutes after the other two. All in all not recommended.

I ordered the baked Metaxa. Unfortunately the quality of the meat wasn't that good. It was very greasy and gristly, and unfortunately not enough sauce. Couldn't keep eating it. The portion was plentiful. The fries and the mini salad, on the other hand, were good. The service was friendly, the atmosphere is nice and clean. According to the note, they no longer wanted to offer us digestive schnapps. 😀

Ich arbeite selbst im Service und weiß wie stressig es sein kann . Dennoch würde mir niemals im Leben einfallen meinen Gästen einen Heißen Teller ( gerade von der Wärmeplatte gekommen ) in die Hände zu drücken ohne jefliche Vorwarnung darüber . Bei zweifacher Ansprache darauf , kam nur ein eher weniger interessiertes Sorry und auch keine kleine Geste der Entschuldigung . Die Portionen waren gut . Das Essen aber leider lieblos gestaltet und auch sehr fad . Leider hatte ich mir mein Restessen einpacken lassen . Leider aus dem Grund weil dann ein Haar darin enthalten war . Dieses war nicht bestellt. Der Dressing zum Salat war sehr dünn und hat absolut nicht geschmeckt . Nicht besonders Kinderfreundlich gestaltet . Hochstuhl vorhanden aber kein Wickeltisch . Ich musste mein Kind auf einem Tisch bei den WC s wickeln . Nach den Rezessionen hatte ich mir mehr erhofft . Preislich wäre nichts einzuwenden wenn die Gläser auch ordnungsgemäß gefüllt wären . Die Krone vom Weizen war abgestanden / eingefallen und das Glas nicht bis zum Maß gefüllt . Ich weiß wie hektisch die Tage sein können da ich selbst Erfahrung habe aber das waren definitiv 2 von 5 Sternen.

Wir hatten nicht reserviert und mussten ein wenig warten. Das Essen kam heiß auf den Tisch und war sehr gut. Die Bedienung freundlich und nett. Wir kommen wieder und das nächste Mal werden wir einen Tisch reservieren

Der beste Grieche ist in Zell! Schon seit vielen vielen Jahren kehren wir beim “El Grego” der Familie Gavranidis ein und sind immer wieder gerne dort und positiv angetan von der über Jahre gleichbleibenden Qualität der Speisen. Egal ob Fleisch, Fisch, Geflügel oder Salate; alles ist hervorrgend. Allein die Vorspeisen sind so reichlich, dass man vorher überlegen kann, ob man mit jemandem teilt. Die Lammfilets, die Dorade, das Gyros, die Calamari-Ringe und der Bauernsalat, alles ist klasse. Und Sonderwünsche sind auch kein Problem. Nun hatte ich mal neulich zur Bezahlung mit Kreditkarte eine Email geschrieben, aber die scheint untergegangen zu sein. Und deshalb habe ich mir die Rezensionen angesehen um festzustellen, ob noch jemand darüber geschrieben hat. Zunächst die normale Sortierung, und da wimmelt es ja nur so von 5**-Benotungen. Dann mal rückwärts: Da gibt es ganz vereinzelt berechtigte negative Kritiken, aber die überwiegende Zahl sind Querulanten und Meckerer. Und wenn dann der “Chef” mit den Worten der Tochter des Hauses kräftig zurück langt, dann hat mir das ein Schmunzeln aufs Gesicht gezaubert – vor allen Dingen die Antwort zu den 14 Personen nach dem Küchenbrand war richtig gut. Und auch die Antwort an Herrn Oppers war nicht unberechtigt, als er zuvor nie positiv bewertet hat und dann solch eine Kritik zur Situation bei der langen Tafel abgibt. Auch wir haben dort gesessen, und an solch einem Tag muss man sich schon mal damit abfinden, dass nicht alles rund läuft; zumal es die meistbesuchte Adresse war. Und eben die Aussage, dass man zu schnell negativ und nicht positiv schreibt, veranlasst mich, positiv zu bewerten. Und hau drauf – Annabelle – aber nicht übermütig werden! Und zum Schluss: Letztes Jahr waren wir auf Kreta und haben viele Lokale aufgesucht, die wirklich nicht schlecht waren. Aber unser Resümee nach der Reise: “Der beste Grieche ist bei uns in Zell.”

Hervorragendes griechisches Restaurant, mit einem sehr guten Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, die auch bei vollem Haus nicht den Überblick verlieren. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Ganz spontan sind wir während unseres Moselurlaubes hier eingekehrt. Wir hatten Glück, einen Tisch hatten wir nicht reserviert und bekamen einen Tisch für eine Stunde. Das reichte für ein leckeres vegetarisches Abendessen aus

Toller Service - sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich. Wunderbare Gerichte - unsere Grillteller waren wirklich unfassbar lecker. Das Fleisch war sehr, sehr, sehr zart, die Beilagen top! Uns hat es wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt - wir werden definitiv beim nächsten Besuch in Zell nochmal hier essen gehen ☺️ WEITER SO!!!!

Schönes Ambiente. Toller zuvorkommender Service. Sehr sehr frisches und leckeres Essen. 10/10 sehr zu empfehlen. Einer der besten Griechen für uns und eines der besten Restaurants in Zell! Kommen gerne Nächstes Jahr wieder :)
