We had a delicious meal and really enjoyed the great atmosphere. Huge praise for the service: Despite the full house and the challenge of serving the counter and waiting tables at the same time, the service was always friendly and attentive - that deserves great respect! Of course, at peak times you have to expect slightly longer waiting times, but this is more than made up for by the friendly service. Thank you!

We landed there by chance about 10 days ago and had a very good meal (unicorn schnitzel). The service is friendly and the atmosphere is rustic. The prices are fair and the portions are more than sufficient.

Stopped by the Unicorn by chance! Very nice service and rustic atmosphere. Great little warm bruscetta on the house! Great start!! Then a really good “Heaven & Earth” with a great sauce and homemade mashed potatoes, crispy, delicious black pudding and applesauce, perfect! The schnitzel, or rather the two schnitzels with a good mushroom sauce, really crispy and delicious with fries and a fine, small side salad with colorful special salads and even walnuts! Thank you for a delicious and even reasonably priced dinner!

We have been to the Unicorn for years and were completely satisfied. Good food, great service, it was a nice evening. We immediately reserved a table again.

Four guests were full and extremely satisfied. Fish platter, grill platter, heaven and earth, asparagus, everything was super delicious. The price-performance ratio is right. 😋

We dined here today and can absolutely recommend this place. The service is great, the food is great, the location is great and the atmosphere is also inviting. Here the customer is absolutely king! The staff is attentive and always on their toes, and always friendly and accommodating. The Jägermeister was briefly mentioned at the beginning and boom, we had it after dinner. The chef knows his craft, we can say that much. The veal liver, as well as the dish heaven and earth (rather difficult to write like that as a Cologne native 😉) were of very good quality. You can really have a good time here. Maybe an absolute recommendation from us.

When we arrived it was relatively full in the bar and restaurant and only one lady was taking care of everything. We prepared for a long wait, but everything went exemplarily quickly. The food was good, especially the little surprise starter. A big thank you to the nice and efficient lady who ran the roller coaster. Unfortunately, they had problems with the card terminal, so I had to take a walk to the ATM, but maybe it's not entirely wrong to have a little exercise after a German portion of delicious liver😁

One of my favorite "pubs". The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent. Simply beautiful half-timbering. The service: sensational! We (a regular group of 5 seniors) always enjoy coming here.

We celebrated a birthday in private. Top party. The buffet was very tasty and enough. The service staff were friendly, quick with drinks and always polite. And then at a later hour a dance floor was set up in the restaurant. Everything about it was great. I can only recommend. It ended at two o'clock in the morning, but that was agreed upon and totally okay.

We visited the Unicorn for the first time today and were very impressed. The service was great and very attentive. For example, we were offered hot water when I made the bottle for our daughter and we were also offered help getting over the stairs with the stroller. You don't see it like this very often. The food was also very tasty, there was a delicious bruschetta beforehand and the schnitzels were thin and very tender. Plus crispy fries and a deliciously dressed salad.

Cozy restaurant in the old town. Wonderful half-timbered ambience and sophisticated local cuisine make you want to visit again!

Wenn ich ne Schulnote geben müsste, dann ein Eins Plus Ich schreibe selten viel zu den Bewertungen .. aber hier muss ich und will ich .. Der Chef kocht hier selber, und wirklich fantastisch .. Ich bin zwar kein Sternekoch, aber ich esse sehr gerne und gut, und wenn ich aus gehe, lege ich da auch großen Wert drauf das es gut ist !! Es war einfach spitze .. Das Restaurant hat uns heute absolut überzeugt. Die Bedienung war Top und das Essen hervorragend. Wir haben eigentlich nicht viel erwartet und waren nach dem Besuch restlos begeistert.

Auch wenn der Zugang mit Rollstuhl erschwerlich war. Super nett und wunderbares Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen 👋

Eines der besten Restaurants in Hattingen,super frisch zubereitetes Essen von hoher Qualität,tolles Ambiente und einen erstklassigen Service!Besser geht nicht.

Richtig gutes, leckeres Essen! Die kleine Vorspeise (Bruscetta) mit Tomaten war schon saftig. Die beiden Schnitzel waren dünn und sehr zart. Pommes auf den Punkt. So lecker zusammen mit den Champignons in Soße 😋👍 Besonders gut war auch, dass der Salat sauer angemacht ist. Die sehr nette Dame und der Platz in der Sonne haben den perfekten Mittag abgerundet. Danke! Fahrräder können in direkter Nähe abgestellt werden.

Absolut leckeres und durchaus bezahlbares Essen, ganz freundlicher Service, schönes Fachwerk-Ambiente, toller Biergarten aber ganz schlechte Parkmöglichkeiten.

We had to wait 1 HOUR to be served just two schnitzels and the restaurant was not particularly crowded. We should have done many more things but we ran late because of the waiting. The food quality is average, not bad, not exceptional. You can find better.

Essen TOP gute und sehr große Auswahl. Die Bedienung ist so was von toll.
