Restaurant - Cafe "Zum Alten Ruderhaus" in Friedrichstadt

We went there with a bus company for a meal. It was served as a three-course meal, which was fantastic. It tasted wonderful. The two young waiters deserve special mention. It was a joy to watch them working hand in hand to accomplish everything. We are full of praise and will definitely be back. Thank you!!!

Everything was okay, we'd love to come back

Very nice location. The service was attentive and always there. The food was worth the price.

The city is buzzing with "Autumn Magic," the weather is perfect... beautiful place... unfortunately, it's closed. Since I can't reply directly... no, I didn't make a mistake... What a shame... I wanted to photograph the "Closed" sign first... and yes, you could apparently get coffee at the canal cruise kiosk and sit with the painting supplies at the closed café.

Extremely unfriendly and poor service. You shouldn't sit outside. With such poor service, you wouldn't want to rate the rest of the restaurant... Update: This review should also be deleted! Unfortunately, the owner doesn't respond to criticism.

Not particularly good - not particularly bad. Matjes herring with fried potatoes was good. The large salad plate with baguette slices baked in fat was okay, but not particularly impressive. The portion of fries was huge and good. The service lacked oomph. Only paying with cash is not up to date!! Great, clean restroom!

On the positive side, the view from the terrace is really pleasant when the weather is nice. But that's about it, unfortunately. The waitress was overwhelmed because she had to serve everything on her own. The food tasted terrible, although you'd think you couldn't go wrong with a schnitzel. We had two soft drinks and two dishes that came to a hefty €40, which, by the way, could only be paid for in cash. It's a shame we were drawn to this restaurant because I think the alternatives in Friedrichstadt are far superior to this place. Update 09/14/21: Today, AFTER 3 YEARS!, I received a deletion request from the owner via Google. Also an interesting way of dealing with criticism. Nice attempt to free yourself from unpleasant comments. Better to put a little more energy into the quality of the food and customer satisfaction!

When the weather was nice, we sat in the outdoor area, which is in a nice location with a view of the water. The tables are slightly spread out and framed by a hedge. I liked that. It wasn't that busy so the service, drinks and food came quite quickly. However, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Food was edible but nothing more. My bratwurst with fries was only lukewarm and didn't taste great. For 9 euros you could expect much better quality here. The side salad was more of a decoration than a side dish. Fries were ok. An additional 50ct is also charged for cheap mayo/ketchup. And that at already exorbitant prices. Likewise the robber plate for 1 euro extra!?! Not to mention the drink prices. Wouldn't go here a second time, but that seems to be the concept of the restaurant. Profit, profit, profit,... at the expense of quality. Addition 08/31/21: Also interesting. Good atmosphere, very nice service, the tastiest potato soup I've had in a long time. Fabulous fresh waffles, simply worth a visit!!!

We waited outside on the terrace for ages for someone to come. Unfortunately we weren't served. The way to the table was probably too long...sad

Sehr Schön gelegen und lädt ein zum ausruhen Verweilen. Und die Portionen sind Groß und gut mit Salat Dekoriert und die Curry Soße ist selbst gemacht. Aber es fehlen die Speisekarte in Saalon und der Ketchup und Mayonnaise ist wenig, die 20g Tüten sind nicht schön. Der Preis ist heftig €€€. Nicht zuempfehlen.
