Red Chillies in Gießen

The food used to be better. It's a shame actually. I've always enjoyed ordering here, but the quality isn't really convincing anymore. My order came with the salad from the photo. I hadn't ordered it and wouldn't have missed it. But serving old salad just doesn't work.

We ordered from the restaurant for the first time via UberEats. The food was prepared quickly and arrived relatively warm. We ordered the Chicken Biryani twice. The portions themselves are quite good, but the proportion of rice is quite high. The taste was quite good for the price, but not particularly good either. To be fair, the chicken was pretty tender. What bothered me a bit was the mint dip that came with it, as it was unfortunately quite watery, and the garlic naan, which hardly tasted of garlic and was unfortunately below average.

This restaurant has steadily gone downhill after 5 years. The quality of food just isn't the same, I ordered butter chicken today and the sauce was like water, this isn't how it used to be. The sauce for the butter chicken used to be thick,creamy and delicious but now it's just a watery mess. It's more like soup now than sauce. Although the price is going up the quality of food is going down. I know that they can do better because I know what it used to be,it's a shame that they gave up the good quality food for what seems like turning a profit. I can no longer in good conscience recommend anybody going here until the quality gets better.

We're actually big fans. But during the last few visits we noticed that the quality has not only decreased when it comes to food. The now very oily food is probably no longer suitable for collection. At least not if you don't want stains on your clothes or in your car. Unfortunately the packaging is not quite as tight as it should be. The fact that paying by card has not been possible "currently" for (I think) about two years has now become almost standard in smaller take-away stores. The food itself has deteriorated massively. If the butter chicken wasn't red, it could easily have been mistaken for oily water. One has the feeling that as prices rise, the quality decreases in an anti-proportional manner. Of course the store gets another chance. The butter chicken used to be too good for that and the staff was friendly as usual.

So far the food has always been great, no matter what I've tried. The staff is always very friendly. We really enjoy eating there.

Wässrige Soße über Reis gegossen. Fleisch knochenhart. Hat nach nichts geschmeckt. Wenigstens würde Reklamation akzeptiert und das „Essen“ zurückgenommen.

If you want good Indian food, this place is a must. The people working there are kind and helpful. They have a decent seating area. A good place for a quick lunch.

I ordered a butter chicken and a samosa. Aesthetically it's okay, but the taste was just absolutely terrible. It was bitter and I don't know what kind of meat was in there because it didn't taste like chicken at all. It was some kind of red smoked meat, I don't know, maybe they got my order wrong. I'm really upset because I was super hungry and I thought I'd try something new today. It was my first time in this restaurant and the service was quite okay. The place looked clean, but the food just tasted extremely bad. It was so disappointing that I couldn't even bring myself to eat it. Eventually had to throw it away.

Mega delicious vegan dishes and very friendly staff. And the prices are great. One of my favorite restaurants in Giessen.

Price/performance cannot be beat. Delicious food at fair prices. Simple ambience with a cool vibe.

For me it's really an insider tip in Giessen. A very inconspicuous snack bar. But if you enjoy authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine, this is the place for you. A nice team and international guests bring a little big city feeling to Giessen.

I've been eating burgers here since it opened and it still tastes amazing. I really enjoy the quality and friendliness of the staff, they make you feel comfortable. Price performance unbeatable. The lamb plate with rice next to it is also bombastically delicious.

Looked good at first, but after the first bite I knew it was stale and food was just heated before delivering. Extremely pathetic!

It actually looked nice, but unfortunately there are a few things to complain about. The food was tasty, but it was obviously not freshly prepared, but rather just warmed up in the microwave. Also, I couldn't order the dish I wanted because unfortunately they didn't have it. The portion of the alternative dish was still quite large and I didn't manage to finish it. In addition, the food was floating in fat, which also separated. Some time after the visit, the food became noticeable again. abdominal pain and diarrhea. Unfortunately not recommended.

The taste is great, the prices are unbeatable and the ambience could be better but it's perfectly adequate!

👉Chicken Tikka mit Reis und Naan

Sehr authentisches Indisches Essen. Die Schärfe ist nicht angepasst an den deutschen Gaumen. Das soll sie aber auch nicht! Ich bestelle immer das Butter Chicken und die Samosas. Wirklich lecker und günstig. Die Portionen sind groß. Super empfehlenswert.

Best Indian-Pakistani food in the region. Especially the Biryanis.

Authentisch pakistanisch-indisches Essen. Viele Restaurants schaffen es nicht, authentisch zu kochen und passen das Essen zu sehr dem europäischen Gaumen an. Bei Red Chillies bekommt man kulinarisch noch authentische Kultur und auch Extrawünsche werden sofort erfüllt. Wir hatten Tandoori Chicken (absolut empfehlenswert), Lamm Karahi, Chicken Karahi und Channa Chaat, sowie Pakore. Das Restaurant ist sauber, unauffälig, aber dafür umso überraschender. Außerdem sind die Preise realistisch und nicht überteuert. Ich war schon in vielen Ländern und Städten außerhalb Pakistan/Indien indisch und pakistanisch essen, aber Red Chillies war bisher am authentischsten! Absolute Empfehlung!

Essen sehr gut! Leider kann man nicht mit Karte zahlen. Dafür ein Stern Abzug!

Leckeres und verhältnismäßig preiswertes indisches/pakistanisches Essen. Reiches Angebot und netter Service. Es gibt bessere Inder aber eigentlich nicht unbedingt in Gießen. Das Preis-/Leistungs-Verhältnis ist in der Umgebung ungeschlagen. Das Ambiente ist auf gehobenem Dönerbuden-Niveau. Daher nehme ich das Essen in der Regel mit nach Hause.

Red Chillies liefert zwar nicht und das Abholen vor Ort ist tricky aber allemal Wert . Bis dato war alles seeeeehr lecker und preislich akzeptabel. Personal immer freundlich .

Ist okay, aber auch nicht mehr. Samosas sind kaum gefüllt, Tellergerichte schmecken alle ähnlich mit kleinen Abänderungen. Aber für den Preis geht es klar.

Heute zum ersten Mal bestellt und es war super lecker! Habe noch nie so gut indisch gegessen. Das Fleisch war zart und super gewürzt. Die Portionen waren ordentlich. Preis-Leistung ist top! Ich werde öfter dort essen gehen :)

...war das Lammcurry mit reichlich Fleisch und Reis. Es hätte allerdings etwas schärfer sein können. Die Portion war sehr groß. Der Service war sehr angenehm. Ich werde wieder kommen!

Wir haben zwei als vegan gekennzeichnete Gerichte zum Mitnehmen bestellt. In einem lag ein Hühnerknochen. Das geht gar nicht. Dass beide Gerichte vor Fett trieften, ist da schon nebensächlich.

Wir waren schon oft hier, will sagen, es schmeckt uns. Es gibt preiswerte Gerichte unter zehn Euro, wahlweise mit Huhn, Lamm und vegetarisch. Mein Lieblingsdessert: Mango Lassi. Ich habe allerdings eine andere Vorstellung von der Reinigung der Tische. Diese sind sauber und glänzend. Das wird gemacht mit einem Spray, nach gewischt wird mit einem Lappen beziehungsweise Reinigungstuch. Dieser Lappen kommt nach dem Abwischen immer wieder auf den Heizkörper im Gastraum. Hygiene ist anders. Deshalb Punkt Abzug.

Das Essen bei Red Chillies ist wirklich gut. Ich war zum ersten Mal vor Jahren direkt nach einer Reise nach Indien da, und es schmeckt genauso wie es schmecken soll. Das Essen wird meistens vorm servieren aufgewärmt, das ist zum einen bei den Currygerichten nicht schlimm, außerdem eignet es sich auch hervorragend zum mitnehmen. Wenn man keine Lust auf stundenlanges Essengehen, aber auch nicht auf Döner usw. hat wirklich gut.

Das Essen ist ok, die Preise etwas hoch für das was auf dem Teller liegt, geschmacklich muss mann diese Art mögen . Nichts ausergewöhnliches

Durch Zufall bin ich mit meiner Freundin im Red Chillies gelandet. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet. Die Auswahl an orientalischen Speisen ist groß und abwechslungsreich. Wir waren begeistert und werden in jedem Fall wieder kommen!

Ein preiswerter Inder und lecker obendrein. Die Bedienung ist auch nett. Man findet immer einen Platz im kleinen Bistro.

In diesem indischen Imbiss gibt es sehr leckeres Essen, wenn ich unterwegs bin gehe ich öfter dort hin. Wer gerne indisch isst, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Für meinen Geschmack könnten die Speisen etwas schärfer sein, aber es muss ja zur Allgemeinheit passen- von daher alles gut.

Indisch als Fast Food? Hier nicht einmal für die Mittagspause. Das lamm Curry war gefühlt eine Wassersuppe mit alten Gemüsestücken, der Reis zum Glück reichlich. Frisch und lecker zubereitet wie Zumindest heute nicht.

Wir sind letztes Jahr als 4er Gruppe in das Lokal gekommen und die Erwartungen waren nicht sonderlich hoch für einen Imbiss. Trotzdem hatten wir von 1-2 Freunden gehört, dass es ganz gut sein soll und so probierten wir unser Glück. Ich muss sagen, dass es wirklich sehr lecker war :-) Die Portionen waren sehr üppig, Preise normal und Personal bzw. Service/Küche sehr freundlich und flott. Ich kann den Imbiss nahe des Marktplatzes guten Gewissens weiter empfehlen!

Wenn man auf die Art Essen steht kann ich den Laden nur empfehlen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und qualitativ TOP, der Service ist passend zum Konzept. DIe Jungs sind sehr nett und haben eine gesunde Philosophie und zeigen zudem noch soziales Engagement. Gutes Essen für kleines Geld ohne an Qualität zu sparen. TOP Laden!!!

Super authentische indische / Pakistanische Küche. Habe schon fast die ganze Karte durchprobiert und es ist alles lecker. Gehe seit über 3 Jahren dort essen und die Qualität und der Geschmack sind immer gleich geblieben
