Pizzeria Roma in Gießen

Pizzeria Roma is a regular for us whenever we plan a restaurant visit. Owner Bilant and his wife are always very friendly, the pizzas are always delicious and well-made, and the pasta dishes have been consistently of excellent quality for ages. They also offer a very good wine selection (excellent Chiaretto Bardolino) and world-class tiramisu! All at very reasonable prices. Always worth a visit!

We went out to eat yesterday with our gift card. The service was mediocre. The order wasn't taken completely. When we asked for a refund, the response was rude. The portions and taste were mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it.

Service was very impersonal and stuffy. I had a pizza, and I have to say, any frozen pizza tasted better. My friend had Arrabbiata, and this dish also had nothing to do with Arrabbiata. They should also revise their menu, as I paid more than what was listed. Since I didn't get a receipt, I didn't realize it until later. Sorry, but the name of the restaurant doesn't make it Italian.

The food wasn't bad but kind of "Lifeless" I guess 🤷 The staff Was nice though and the Restaurant looked nice. Do NOT Order a Lemoncini Though. That was THE WORST Lemoncini I've ever had. All in all it wasn't bad but wasn't like "Wow" either yk?

Our absolute favorite restaurant! It's like a vacation every time we go, with a great atmosphere both inside and out, very friendly service, and excellent food! Highly recommended! We love coming back here again and again.

Very good pizzeria. The food is delicious, the service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is also great. The only reason it only gets 4 stars is because there are some very, very good pizzerias in the area, which make the 5-star rating difficult for others.

We were at the Roma Restaurant in Giessen three days ago. It was our first visit and we were really looking forward to it. There were eight of us in total. At first we sat outside, but it got cold pretty quickly. A friend of ours went in briefly to ask for a seat inside. We were offered a table for eight inside. Meanwhile, another friend wanted to smoke outside, so we stayed outside. Shortly afterwards a waitress came to us and said in a very rude manner that we couldn't occupy two tables. I explained that we would go in straight away because our friend wanted to smoke. At this point all the tables outside were free, so we hadn't taken anyone's seat away. We then went into the restaurant to place our order. Unfortunately, we were looked at very strangely by the staff and the service seemed anything but friendly. After about half an hour a waiter came to us and said in a very rude tone that our table would be reserved in 30 minutes. This made us feel very uncomfortable. I wanted to order something else, but then left it and left the restaurant as quickly as possible. A friend ordered bruschetta with mozzarella and tomato. She only took one bite and said it smelled like fish. I suspect that the knives used to prepare the fish dish were also used for the bruschetta. She returned the bruschetta and ordered a salad instead. It didn't taste particularly good either, but she ate it anyway. However, the bruschetta was still listed on the bill even though she hadn't eaten it. She explained that she had sent the bruschetta back. The waiter then replied that it wasn't his problem since she ordered it and had to pay for it. Overall the experience was very disappointing. The atmosphere was unpleasant and the service was rude. The whole situation pretty much spoiled our meal and overall we felt very uncomfortable. For me, even one star is too many - I've never experienced anything like this in my life, even though I often eat outside.

One of our favorite restaurants here. The food was delicious, the service was courteous and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We come regularly 👍

The reviews are absolutely not justified. One of the best pizzas I've eaten in recent years.

Very tasty food, would be back again

In the middle of Gießen, a visit is worth it. Not a wannabe posh Italian, but down to earth and good.

Service nice and quick Restaurant wasn't really visited by just 2 people, I was surprised When our drinks came, my mango lemonade wasn't that good and my food was personally missing spices for the starter. For the main course I had the homemade aubergine with parmesan but it was mozzarella and the taste wasn't that good My companion had pizza and was happy

Pizza was ok. Unfortunately no mozzarella was used. Also, the pizza is very small. Service was friendly, but almost a bit intrusive. But prices are very good!

Kleine saubere Pizzeria mit netter Bedienung. Die Pizzen kamen schnell und waren sehr gut. Leider war die Lasagne wirklich unterirdisch. Völlig verkocht und geschmacklos. Schade, daher nur befriedigung

Very cozy Italian. I only write Italian because the quiet, cozy and really beautifully designed ambience hopes for more. I had tortellini with cream sauce and ham. Very nicely presented, on a nice, clean, deep plate. Unfortunately, the tortellini and the cream sauce are not homemade (a shame) but they are very well refined and decorated. The selection of drinks is excellent, especially the wine selection.

Always worth a visit: good food, the pizzas can also be had with a wholemeal base, there are changing dishes in addition to those on the menu. The waitresses are friendly and the waiting time for the food is short.

Probably the most boring pizza in my life! 100% sure that the dough was prebought and formed. So thin and dry. Nice service though.

Service quick and friendly. Italian salad seems to me to be a €0.79 bag of ready-made mix, some cheese, an egg and ham on top, with a not really tasty sauce, and that's it. Pizza was kind of chewy, but not crispy, it could have used a few more minutes. The ambience on the market square was actually quite nice, but the clientele that was walking around there was no longer celebratory.

Located directly at the Giessen market. You can also sit outside very nicely and have a view of the Upper Hessian Museum, so it's a perfect location. However, I found the pizza I ate there less than perfect. The topping was relatively sparse and a bit bland, not seasoned and not baked much. Okay, I was able to eat the pizza, but it wasn't as tasty as I had hoped based on other positive reviews. (Pizza Vegetale). Service and atmosphere were pleasant and friendly.

Absolutely underground, expensive and bad.

Due to the many positive reviews, our expectations were high. Likewise our appetite for pizza. The ambience provided the first plus points. The cute outdoor furniture with the market atmosphere gave a little touch of Italy until the food was served. Unfortunately you can only give one star for the food. The dough was very thin and seemed to be undercooked. Tomato sauce was saved and spices were completely avoided. The taste was simply bland. The service was very friendly and attentive. When we asked the obligatory question whether everything was okay, we answered truthfully and kindly that the pizza wasn't "that great". This was acknowledged with an “okay”. We don't expect compensation, but an "I'll pass it on" would have felt better for us.

This evening we had dinner in the pizzeria with six people, a toddler with us and it was simply great... The food was incredibly delicious... I have rarely eaten something so delicious as starters... And the daily special was a great recommendation. Thank you very much

Pizza is recommended. You can also choose the dough as whole grain spelled (at no extra charge). Definitely try it.

Kleine familien geführte Pizzeria mit super leckerem Essen. Auch wenn es voll ist, wird immer versucht alle Gäste unterzubringen und alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Besonders kinderfreundlich und draußen kann man auch schön sitzen. Wir sind seit vielen Jahren Stammgäste.

Nettes kleines Restaurant, nettes junges Team, aber im Service noch ein wenig ungeübt. Gut gesessen, gut gespeist, nicht gerade sehr viel Platz. Reservierung sicher sinnvoll abends.

Die ich hatte die Spinattagliatelle mit Garneln die wirklich Top geschmeckt haben und da zu Merlot. Als Nachspeise hatte ich noch Panna Cotta, der hat ganz gut geschmeckt aber jetzt nicht so herausragend. Ins gesamt aber ein sehr gutes Restaurant.

Große Salatportion und sehr leckeres Dressing. Die Brötchenbeilage war aber nicht so toll.

Beliebter guter Italiener mitten in der Stadt. Wird mittags gerne von den umliegenden Behörden genutzt. Preise sind o.k. Hervorzuheben ist, dass es die Pizza auf Wunsch auch mit Vollkornteig gibt - sehr schmackhaft.

Ein sehr nettes Lokal und trotz der vielen Leute wurden wir nett aufgenommen. (Hatten nicht reserviert). Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell, was wirklich nicht selbstverständlich ist. Essen ging auch ziemlich flott und meine Pizza war auch sehr genießbar. Jetzt zum einzigen Manko: die Pizzen waren leider extrems klein, also da wurde aus der 28 eine 23. Kann aber auch im Ofen eingegangen sein. Man weiß es nicht und würde nur spekulieren. Alles in allem war es doch sehr gut. Müsst ihr wissen.

Guter Service, nettes Personal. Der Besitzer ist offen und nett. Die Pizza schmeckt lecker und ist für den Preis absolut gut. Die Nudeln sind ebenfalls lecker. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Sehr kleine aber feine Pizzeria! Wir wurden durch den Schlemmerblock auf diese wunderbare kleine Pizzeria direkt am Wochenmarkt aufmerksam. Sie hatten bei schönen Wetter drinnen und draußen guten Betrieb. Das Ambiente war ansprechend, sauber und gepflegt, die Begrüßung freundlich, der Service zeitnah trotz viel Betrieb. Die Pizza und der Cappuccino waren ein Traum, wir kommen gerne wieder! Danke an den Chef für seine Geduld, ich hatte mein neues Smartphone dabei und war mit der Onlinefunktion des Schlemmerblocks etwas überfordert, aber auch das hat geklappt!

Besonders die Vorspeisen und Desert sind zu empfehlen. Der Espresso ist stark und lecker und der Service sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der Teig der Pizza Roma und die Vorspeisenplatte war für zwei Personen eine schöne Erfahrung am spontanen Besuch am Abend. Mit Blick auf das alte Schloss sitzt man draußen sehr entspannt und, um nur ein Beispiel für tollen Service zu nennen, die bestellte Pizza zum Teilen wurde auf zwei Tellern serviert. Die Weinkarte ist wunderbar beschrieben und bietet nach Regionen eine tolle ungewöhnliche Auswahl, so dass auch die Wahl einer Weinbegleitung leicht fällt. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung und eines der Restaurants über die ich mich sehr freue diese in Gießen zu haben. Im Inneren sind auch größere Tische, so dass auch in Gruppen dies ein Besuch wert ist.

Wir haben dort vier verschiedene Pizza bestellt und die haben uns auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Bezahlung mit der Verrechnung eines Gutscheine war zuerst ein wenig problematisch und konnte doch gekärt werden.

Ik ben een foodie en kan beamen dat je bij Pizzeria Roma de lekkerste pizza's in heel Duitsland zult vinden! ook de nagerechten en pasta's zijn zeer zeker aan te raden!

Wenn meine Frau und ich um die Mittagszeit in Gießen sind, gehen wir sehr gerne hier eine Pizza essen, denn sie ist lecker, die Bedienung ist sehr flott und freundlich, die Preise sind angemessen. Eine Empfehlung, auch für unsere Freunde.

Wir waren heute Abend im Restaurant essen und kommen definitiv wieder. Die Kellner waren aufmerksam, schnell und freundlich. Das Essen sehr lecker und der Wein gut. Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt auch. Können es nur weiter epfehlen. Immer wieder gerne

Das Essen ( Pizza und Salat) war sehr lecker und der Service wirklich sehr schnell! Abzug gibt es weil wir beim Salat statt Feta, Gouda bestellt haben und dafür tatsächlich drauf zahlen mussten! Der preislich teurere Feta wurde durch normalen Käse ersetzt und dafür wurde uns 1€ zusätzlich berechnet! Als wir den Kellner darauf angesprochen haben hieß es nur, das sei in der Kasse nicht anderes möglich! Ziemlich frech und für uns ein Grund nicht wieder zu kommen!

In Gießen gibt es keinen guten Italiener und dieses Restaurant bestätigt de Regel. Schon die Einrichtung ist sehr langweilig und hier braucht man nicht viel zu schreiben, obwohl hier liegt viel Potential. Ich kenne gute Pizzarestaurants, die nicht von Italiener geführt werden aber Dieses gehört dazu nicht. Auswahl und die Konfiguration der Zutaten ist gut aber die Umsetzung schwach. Die Bewertung der 4 wichtigsten Komponente der perfekten Pizza sieht wie folgt aus: Teig nur 2/3 (ist zu trocken und Rande muss man lassen), Sauce 2 (zu wenig saftig), Käse 2, Zutaten und Kompositionen 2/3. Olivenöl schwach. Einziger Plus ist der Service, der sich bemüht und aufmerksam, nett, schnell ist. Weinauswahl uninteressant. Bier vom Fass Licher. Preise für Pizza zwischen 6-10 EUR. BofG - Wiederkommen/Empfehlungsfaktor (0-100%): 20% ich würde hier ungerne wiederkommen.
