Top Restaurant. Sehr auf aufmerksames Personal. Lediglich an der Akustik sollte man noch etwas machen ist nur ein Vorschlag. Für dieses Restaurant absolut Empfehlung.

Gutes Essen und eine tolle Lage direkt an der Lahn. Was stört? Zum einen das nervige Dauermusikgedudel und zum anderen, daß manche Mitarbeiter im Service einen einfach nicht verstehen. Andere Mitarbeiter sind hingegen sehr aufmerksam und flink

Eine sehr schöne Location mit sehr schönem Außenbereich direkt am Fluss mit eigener Anlegestelle. Von hier aus kann man beim Schlemmen das Treiben auf dem Fluss herrlich beobachten. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Stimmung mit am Abend schöner Beleuchtung. Zudem war das Essen hervorragend und kam trotz hoher Auslastung recht schnell. Die Steaks waren auf den Punkt Medium und sehr schmackhaft.

Wir haben das Restaurant besucht, und leider waren Pasta und Salat alles andere als gut. Ich denke, sie sollten sich mehr auf traditionelle türkische Gerichte wie Lula Kebab oder Schaschlik konzentrieren und ihre italienischen Gerichte verbessern.

Ein nettes, gemütliches Familienhaus, aber stellenweise laut.

Ich habe einen Caesar Salat bestellt. Er war sehr weit von der klassischen Variante entfernt. Erdnüsse in diesem Salat? Das sehe ich zum ersten Mal… Das Dressing war wie Mayonnaise, die Salatblätter haben beim Kauen wegen des Sands geknirscht – schrecklich. Eine sehr unangenehme Überraschung.(( Mein Mann hat Pasta bestellt, die völlig verkocht war wie Brei, ohne jegliche Struktur.

Die Kombinationen sind manchmal etwas ungewöhnlich. Sie verwenden die gleichen Gemüse- und Obstscheiben in Schweinemedaillons, Rumpsteak und Curry-Pasta – genauer gesagt Karotten-, Erdbeer- und Apfelscheiben. Ansonsten war alles köstlich. Die Preise sind nicht zu hoch – wir haben 208,50 für drei Personen bezahlt, wobei zwei von uns zwei Hauptgerichte und zwei Limonaden für je 8 Euro bestellten (die wie Sprite mit Sirup und hübscher Garnierung schmeckten), und einer von uns zwei Desserts bestellte. Wenn man die Standardbestellung aufgibt – ein Hauptgericht, ein Dessert, ein Getränk – kostet es etwa 30–50 Euro pro Person. Die Portionen sind ordentlich groß. Es gibt eine schöne, ruhige Terrasse am Fluss.

Das Ambiente und das Lokal sind wirklich sehr schön und laden zum Verweilen ein. Auch das Dessert war hervorragend und hat den Abend ein wenig gerettet. Leider war das Hauptgericht eine große Enttäuschung. Ich hatte Lammfilet mit Pfifferling-Rahmsoße bestellt, doch die Soße wirkte wie eine Fertigsoße und schmeckte sehr wässrig. Das Fleisch selbst hatte einen unangenehm alten Geschmack, sodass ich es nicht essen konnte und nur die Beilage gegessen habe. Ich habe dies der Kellnerin mitgeteilt, allerdings konnte sie mir nicht einmal sagen, ob die Soße hausgemacht ist oder nicht. Beim Abräumen der Teller obwohl noch fast das gesamte Gericht darauf lag wurde zudem nicht nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung war. Ich habe die 33.50€ voll bezahlt bur für die Beilage…. Sehr schade, da das Restaurant optisch wirklich überzeugt, aber beim Essen und Service noch deutlich Luft nach oben ist.

Ein rundum perfekter Abend! Schon beim Ankommen hat die schöne und stilvolle Atmosphäre begeistert, mit toller Beleuchtung und sehr angenehmem Ambiente. Die Vorspeisen waren alle sehr lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Auch das Hauptgericht war geschmacklich auf sehr hohem Niveau, alles frisch, perfekt zubereitet und optisch ein Highlight. Dazu ein aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, der den Abend noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Man merkt, dass hier viel Wert auf Qualität und Details gelegt wird. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen!

Wunderschöner Sonntagabend im Au Lac in Gießen. Es war nicht sehr voll, daher war der Service schnell und freundlich. Einfach wow! Wir lieben dieses Restaurant. Das Essen war so gut, dass wir uns kaum entscheiden konnten.. Ambiente ist so gemütlich und trotzdem modern. Einfach genial. Man kann so wunderbar am Wasser sitzen oder gemütlich im Wintergarten. Uns hat es so gut gefallen, dass wir im Sommer dort unsere Hochzeit feiern 🥳. Wir freuen uns schon sehr darauf

Hatten hier Essen für Familienabend geplant und waren dort - sehr modernes Ambiente im Innenbereich des Restaurants - auch großer Aussenbereich vorhanden - qualitativ hochwertige Speisen und sehr schön angerichtet - wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - Preise sind für das Ambiente und Qualität fair - schneller Service - wir kommen auf jeden Fall im Frühjahr wieder um den Aussenbereich an der Lahn zu testen :)

It's the season for Christmas parties, and so AuLac was fully booked on a Friday evening. Long, packed tables lined up one after the other. It was very loud and chaotic. We sat in the attached tent (which is probably an open terrace in the summer), and it was stuffy and hot. The colorful neon lights added to the heat, and the ventilation quickly became too cold. A comfortable get-together was hardly possible. After we asked them to turn the music down or off, they did. Unfortunately, the service was quickly overwhelmed due to the size and number of people. No one asked how the guests were doing, empty bottles and glasses weren't cleared away, the food order took forever, and some food was forgotten or undercooked. You could tell that the staff wasn't equipped to handle this many guests. The food (except for one dish) was very tasty and looked appetizing. The prices are reasonable.

Sehr leckere Gerichte mit frischen Zutaten und einer großen Auswahl an Nudeln, Salaten und Fleischgerichten. Extrem gemütliches Ambiente und das Personal ist ebenfalls aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Definitiv einen Besuch wert und auch für größere Feierlichkeiten geeignet.

Drinks like cocktails are equally good. The whole experience is rounded off by the staff, who leave nothing to be desired. Of course, this service comes at a price. Nothing at Au Lac is cheap, but you're happy to pay a little more for a truly perfect stay in every respect!

Unfortunately, we forgot our table reservation. A solution was found that we were happy with. Unfortunately, we waited 1.5 hours for the appetizer and then almost another hour for the main course. That's a real shame. No friendly goodbyes on the way out. Sadly disappointed.

We celebrated my cousin's wedding here this weekend. It was a German-Turkish wedding, with about 200 people. I've never experienced such fantastic, first-class service... from the location to the service, the buffet, everything was top-notch. Since I come from a hospitality background, I automatically pay attention to little things :-), like constantly tidying the tables, clean glasses, chilled water... the waiters were like ants, but then again, not annoying, it felt like they were flying past you. And there was chilled water the whole time. The water bottles were still served with elegant bottle caps until the very end, even at 1 a.m.... Such small things, really, but they say it all: the service gave 100% from start to finish. There was always something going on at the bar, but they worked so well and cleanly... no stress, no tension... so the guests didn't notice a thing!!! So what can I say... worth every cent!!! WARNING! My friend ate fish and developed severe stomach problems while he was still in the restaurant. He's still feeling very bad! Horrible! Oh, and selling minute steaks as "pork medallions" is also quite interesting.

I ordered pork loin and received a dry, overcooked pork steak. The vegetables and chanterelle mushrooms were cold and barely seasoned. There was no sign of any waitresses after the meal. And all for €29.90. Disappointing.

Apparently, others before us had the same experience, which is why I'm writing this review. My friend had reserved a table outside by the Lahn River for 7:00 p.m. We arrived on time. They made us wait forever at the entrance, as if we had ordered and not picked up. They told us to wait. After a long time, a waiter came and led us to a table inside. When we explained that we had specifically reserved outside, we were told that it was just like outside (there was no one there except us – everyone was sitting outside in the perfect weather). We were already pretty annoyed, especially since there was even a free table outside. A short time later, another couple arrived. They were then seated outside. We were so horrified that we simply left without ordering. We won't be seeing you there again. Unbelievable.

We were all thrilled. The ambiance isn't immediately apparent from the parking lot, but once you walk in, it's beautifully designed and clean. The staff were very friendly, quick, and very attentive. Dinner and dessert were delicious. We celebrated my mother's birthday there (with an overnight party) with 16 people. Everything was lovely, professional, and comfortable, with seating by the water. Everyone was thrilled and satisfied, and we will be back. Thank you for the wonderful, unforgettable day you gave my mother and us. Thank you to the entire team.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Au Lac Restaurant in Giessen was disappointing and left the impression that it was more show than substance. Although we were assigned a table, we had to wait about 20 minutes before finally getting our menus ourselves – a rocky start. My starter, an onion soup, was more reminiscent of a vegetable soup and had little in common with a classic onion soup. For my main course, I ordered sirloin – I was served three simple minute steaks, like those you see in Metro packaging, and unfortunately, they were far from high-quality sirloin. The side salad I ordered with it didn't arrive until after the main course – and only after repeated requests. A similar thing happened with a bottle of water, for which I had requested a glass with ice cubes. The bottle arrived, but the glass with ice took a long time to arrive and was only brought after repeated reminders. My colleague ordered a medium rump steak, but received a piece of meat that was completely cooked – dry and tough like a chew bone. On top of that, it was drenched in a dark instant sauce that wasn't mentioned on the menu. The rest of our group of five also had some criticisms of their meals. After complaining to the chef, we did get a dessert on the house, which was really good – but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for the previous disappointment. Conclusion: Despite its chic presentation, Au Lac doesn't impress with either the service or the quality of the food. For us, this was definitely our last visit – we can't recommend it.

Not recommended: a friend and I weren't wearing a minidress, nor did we have false eyelashes, lip fillers, or fake breasts. So, unfortunately, we were labeled "inferior" from the start and treated accordingly. We were only asked once – within three hours – if everything was okay, while the waitresses and waiters buzzed around the "fancy" customers. When we were allowed to sit downstairs at a free table near the water (upon request), we overheard the other guests being asked for dessert (after the main course). My friend and I were denied that, too. We would have liked to have another drink or two, but unfortunately, we were ignored and left the restaurant, which does have a beautiful location on the Lahn River, early on, with a very bad feeling, which the staff gave us. Conclusion: Definitely not recommended for students or for natural-looking people (from the "middle class").

I was absolutely thrilled with the Au Lac restaurant! The atmosphere is very pleasant – stylish yet cozy. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating without being intrusive. The food was absolutely outstanding: freshly prepared, perfectly flavored, and beautifully presented. The location directly on the Lahn River also makes the restaurant truly special – ideal for a relaxing evening or a lovely meal for two. I will definitely be back and can highly recommend Au Lac to anyone who values ​​quality and good service.

Au Lac is actually a lovely place to eat and celebrate... at first glance. Au Lac has very opulent decor (a bit too extravagant for me, but that's my taste), and at first glance, you're literally overwhelmed by the splendor. But when you look a little closer, you notice things that don't fit, hence the deductions. Loose electrical wires are hanging everywhere in very odd places, and there's a lot of dust, crumbs, etc. in hard-to-reach places. The floor was also covered in a lot of "dirty stuff." In the restrooms, spiders live on the windows and corners. Here and there, the paint is missing. What's a no-go, however, is that afterward, we noticed that our table hadn't been cleaned with water or cleaner before setting the table, as there were still salt crumbs and drink stains on the table. The food was quite good and tasted good too 👍. The prices are OK but a bit higher than I know them from Gießen 👌

By far our favorite restaurant! Very good and delicious food, a very extensive menu, and a perfect atmosphere, especially in summer! It feels like a Mediterranean vacation, right on the Lahn River. The prices are a bit high, the portion sizes are okay, the desserts are sensational, but the parking situation is pretty disastrous! We always park at Neustädter Tor. The staff are super friendly and attentive!

I celebrated my 44th birthday there, and all my wishes were fulfilled! We had a wonderful evening with music, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere! Not just for a wonderful dinner, but for any kind of celebration, big or small, I can definitely recommend Au Lac as an insider tip!

The food was good, but the service wasn't great. We sat for almost 30 minutes until the drinks were taken, even when we ordered drinks in between, we only became aware of them after several calls, and sometimes we forgot again. Exactly the same thing at the neighboring table.

We always enjoy going here. Sitting directly on the Lahn is very nice. The appetizer platter for two people was delicious and rich at what I thought was a fair price. It would be nice if, for example, B. there would also be a Martini Floreale. I missed non-alcoholic versions on the extensive “long drinking” menu.

Visited the Au Lac in Gießen again for a long time! We have been guests many times in all seasons, so you can now form a pretty good opinion. Unfortunately, the parking spaces are in short supply and are already largely occupied by the management and employees! So we always went there on foot. In summer there is a very nice beer garden with a direct view of the Lahn and in winter on the former SKC terrace in the winter garden you can expect a great, stylish ambience with high-quality tables and seating, as well as several ethanol fireplaces that spread a cozy warmth. In short, a feel-good atmosphere! Since tastes are known to be different, everyone should form their own opinion when visiting. Overall, the dishes are very tasteful and well prepared! If you like salad, fish or pasta, you're in good hands here! In my opinion, you should avoid the pork dishes on offer! There is a lack or too much of the advertised creativity when it comes to quality and selection. And if it hadn't been offered to us as a recommendation of the day on an extra large board, like on “First Dates” (highly priced), some people in a Mediterranean restaurant wouldn't necessarily have chosen it either! The Mediterranean translation of the pork dishes follows: Pork medallions = thin fried minute steaks made from lean pork loin. Schnitzel = convenience product shaped meat. Pork loin = 2 larger square pieces from the lobster roast (unfortunately also cut with the fiber on that day, so it took a lot of strength to cut!) Otherwise, the side dishes such as rosemary potatoes, vegetables and sauces were very tasty! Unfortunately, porcini mushrooms probably come from a can or are fried to death with the vegetables, depending on the different cooking times! The service is very polite, but at times seems disorganized and therefore a bit hectic, although there were enough service staff on site even though it was busy that evening. It then followed that you didn't get any drinks without speaking to the service yourself! You receive this professionally but with an annoyed facial expression! 😖 We would have liked to leave more money for drinks, but it was made very difficult for us! A subtle note to the waiter about the pork loin brought at least a round of grappa on the house! It certainly won't be the last visit! We now know the strengths of Mediterranean cuisine 😉👍! LG

The prices are not cheap but the food is delicious. The service is good but sometimes too intrusive. you are often spoken to, even when you are eating. If the store is busy, it is quite difficult to find “parking spaces” in front of the door. Despite a “guardian”, our car was parked and there are generally very few spaces.

My beef fillet steak was grilled to perfection, wonderfully tender and an absolute delight in terms of taste. The kitchen has done a great job here – kudos to the team! Special praise also goes to the exceptional helpfulness and humanity: I had forgotten my Mastercard and didn't have any cash with me. The team showed a remarkable level of trust and allowed me to pay the amount later via bank transfer. This gesture was truly impressive and left a deep impression on us. Thank you for this wonderful Christmas dinner and the exceptional hospitality. Au Lac is a restaurant that we can fully recommend. We would love to come back!

My son and I went to Au Lac today. We wanted to have a really good time. Our expectations were truly exceeded. Great cuisine. Discreet attentive service. Fine taste and correct portion sizes. Seldom eaten so badly. Musically catastrophe. Service was sometimes unfriendly. Unfortunately I can't say anything positive apart from the lovely atmosphere.

We each ate a fish and seafood dish and our stomachs started to rumble shortly after eating in the restaurant. Within the next few hours this progressed to diarrhea and massive nausea. Apart from that, the quality of the dishes was not good. In particular, the fish and vegetables from the grill were dripping with fat. For something that you can make at home without much effort (and is more digestible), the prices are absolutely not justified.

Both in summer and winter there is a particularly beautiful atmosphere, great food, fantastic Limoncello Spritz, first-class wine selection, and extremely friendly and warm service especially from Shymes, Omar, Deniz and Yussuf. Five stars aren't really enough here. A real recommendation, we come at least 15 times a year and it has always been excellent!

I've heard a lot of bad things about Au Lac but I wanted to try it myself but I won't behave like that! If the shop owner is like that, what should the employees be like? Unexemplary behavior! I wanted to reserve Au Lac for my engagement party and kindly asked if it would be possible to bring our own cake, as it had already been reserved at a pastry shop. The boss then literally shouted at me and called me disrespectful. He claimed that they were the best restaurant in Gießen and that I shouldn't allow myself to do something like that and simply hung up without me being able to say anything. Such behavior is simply unacceptable, especially if you are planning an important event and are hoping for friendly interaction. Very disappointing, that's not how you treat your guests!

Sub-good. Unfortunately, our dinner was unexpectedly accompanied by obtrusively loud music. Unfortunately there are no culinary highlights. Service good and friendly! Goodbye ? I do not think so!

Very tasty food and the best view of the Lahn.

How friendly can you be? Yes! A table for 12 people can be reserved with a little advance notice via a simple email. On the day itself, Au Lac makes sure again whether the group size will stay the same (very friendly!). The selection on the menu is enormous and the service is very friendly. Restrained but there immediately when needed. Whether you are a regular guest or only come once a year, you will always be treated in a friendly and attentive manner. The toilets are clean and, especially in the evenings, the view of the Lahn is absolutely comfortable with non-intrusive background music from hidden music boxes. Special requests are also taken into account, of course within the limits of what is gastronomically possible. We'll definitely come back.

Very good food and every plate looks beautifully decorated. The only thing that was annoying is the party boat that goes past every hour with people shouting, but the Au lac can't do anything about that.

After a lot of back and forth, I decided to give it a review. We went to this restaurant during the week with a slightly larger group (6 people). A really nice restaurant, great ambience, located right on the water, there are seats outside and inside. It's really stylish, elegantly decorated. However, we had a few points of criticism. When we visited, the restaurant had around 10 tables occupied, including our table, which isn't really a lot (even just outside). We often had to draw attention to ourselves because the drinks were empty. When the food was served, the waiter noticed that a dish had been forgotten from the table, which was served about 10 minutes later. Afterwards we wanted to taste dessert. In the case of hot love, the raspberry sauce was cold and the chocolate cake had no liquid core, unlike what was described on the menu. During our stay (after dinner) one person at the table felt unwell and went home shortly after dinner. Another person ordered the same dish, but unfortunately she didn't get it either; she reported stomach/intestinal problems. She then informed the restaurant about her health status and was told that this dish was very popular and that the goods were freshly purchased and prepared. Well wishes and an apology were sent to her.

We had requested a reservation by email for an evening with 27 people (we got married in a civil ceremony that day) and then had the OK a few days later with promise!!! receive. We were called 4 days before this appointment. The employee then informed us about the à la carte meal, to which we simply said that we only wanted something to drink and that only a few people would eat anything. She wanted to tell her boss about this, who then called us minutes later and told us that you couldn't just drink there because it was a restaurant and he then canceled our booking because he would then have income of 600.- Euros would be missing. He also added that he had turned us away on site despite having a reservation!!! The boss didn't apologize to us and accepted it succinctly. All we can say is: sad, sad... the customer is not king (we won't see us as customers there either!!!) It would have been important to ask in advance with such a large number of people :-(. Conclusion: not very competent!!! :-( . We then went to the Marine Stuben who gave us a warm welcome and service :-) :-) .

Upscale restaurant without being aloof. Located directly on the Lahn, this restaurant is a pearl. Since I was traveling by bike, I could only enjoy a Vitello Tonnato as a starter. but this is one of the best I've ever eaten. Finally, an excellent coup Danmark at its finest. I was served by extremely friendly and attentive people. It's a shame that I don't live near Giessen, Au Lac would be my regular restaurant.
