The four of us had a delicious dinner here on New Year's Eve. It was absolutely fantastic and reminded us of our trip to Lebanon! Food was amazing. We had various dips and meat platter and we were blown away how delicious everything was. Portions are so big that we took three take out boxes for home. I recommend 100%.

Edit 01/2026 I can only comment on my meal that day; we left most of the food on our plates. Perhaps I'm spoiled by other restaurants, but "should I bring some more bread?" is different from "would you like to order more bread?" The fact that they no longer have a rotisserie skewer is not something I would consider a culinary improvement. I can only say that I have rarely been so disappointed by a restaurant visit. Edit 12/2025 We were very disappointed after our second visit. Only the hummus and tzatziki were good. The waiter asked if he should bring more bread (a small pitta), which promptly appeared on the bill. The muhmara tasted like ajvar with walnuts, the "lamb" tasted more like an old sheep, and the coleslaw, in my opinion, was store-bought and not tasty either. The shawarma wasn't cooked on a spit; it was noticeably cut into fries, like the pre-cooked salad dressing you sometimes find in supermarkets. The seasoning was unpleasant. The fries and grilled green peppers were okay. The prices are rather high, and for that price, it was truly disappointing. I can't understand the other reviews. ######### (2022) Highly recommended! Homemade, wonderfully seasoned, high-quality cold and hot appetizers. There's a restaurant hidden in the back. We'll be back! The price-performance ratio is excellent.

We ate here for the first time today and were absolutely delighted. The food is fresh, and there are so many fantastic appetizers and dips, all of which are delicious on their own and perfectly complement the main courses. The meat dishes were cooked to perfection, and the seasoning of everything was absolutely delicious. The homemade lemonades are also highly recommended. The service and friendliness are outstanding; it's a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great place, keep up the good work!

From the street, it looks like a snack bar, but inside it's a small restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. I've eaten at Byblos several times, and the staff have always been very friendly and the food excellent. The menu also offers a wide selection for vegetarians and vegans. I've always found the wait times to be perfectly reasonable. I can only mention one negative point, and that's the room temperature (at least in winter). Unfortunately, it was always too cold for us on all our visits. Maybe we'll just come in the summer next time. 😉

We drove all the way from afar to get there... we had to wait 30 minutes for drinks and 1.5 hours for food. The portions were small for the price, and there weren't many fries. The guacamole was tasty, though. Unfortunately, we won't be back. 😕

Amazing mezze – everything fresh and made with love. I usually don't even need a main course; we order a whole platter of appetizers (mezze) so everyone can try each dish. Yesterday we only had vegan appetizers – absolutely delicious. Everyone loved them. This just goes to show that, in my opinion, Lebanese cuisine is one of the best in the world. Since everything is made fresh, you should expect a bit of a wait and not go there starving. But the wait is definitely worth it. I'm also really glad that there's such a great Lebanese restaurant in Giessen. I haven't found a place with such a variety of excellent mezze in Frankfurt or Offenbach, for example, in 10 years.

I really love the food at Byblos; everything tastes absolutely delicious. However, the wait for the food is far too long. All the guests arrived at the restaurant at the same time, and I understand that the food is freshly prepared and that takes time, but it took 2.5 hours for our main courses to arrive. The individual dishes then arrived several minutes apart, which is simply inconvenient for a group. Perhaps it would be better to shorten the menu or accept fewer reservations for the same time slot. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident; on our last three visits, we always waited a long time (1.5 to 2 hours, even though not all the tables were occupied at once), but this time it was even longer.

I went to Byblos Restaurant today and I'm absolutely thrilled! The value for money is truly excellent; you get more than fair price for the quality and quantity. The portions were also generous, so you definitely leave full and satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Overall, a fantastic experience. We were a party of four at the restaurant on Saturday (November 22, 2025), and unfortunately, our visit didn't go as planned. The food we ordered, which was really good, didn't arrive at the same time, so we couldn't start eating together. After we finished eating, the empty plates weren't cleared away. They were still on our table when we left (about 30 minutes later). There were also problems with the drinks: Our second order didn't arrive even after 15 minutes, so we had to call the waitress again and order again. The waitress was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. She seemed to have to do everything herself – greeting and seating guests at the entrance, taking orders, bringing drinks, clearing tables, etc. This significantly impacted the overall service. With better service, it definitely would have been another star.

I ate here for the first time today and it was incredibly good. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was surprisingly lovely, surprising because from the outside and in the entrance area it looks like a small snack bar. But inside, it has a very authentic atmosphere with particularly beautiful tableware. I had the vegan wrap, which was labeled "for a light meal." And I can't remember ever having eaten such a good wrap. The portion size was truly generous for the price. I will definitely come back.

Byblos is the best and most authentic Lebanese restaurant in the Central Hesse region. Very friendly service, absolutely delicious food. The prices are absolutely reasonable. We will definitely be back again.

Today we went to Byblos. It's a bit unassuming from the outside, but the dining room at the back is nicely decorated. The waitress was very friendly and asked frequently whether we were enjoying our meal and if there was anything else she could do for us. Very nice. The food is beautifully presented, and we enjoyed it very much. An absolute must in Giessen. We redeemed a voucher from the voucher book.

Wow, from the outside, you wouldn't know that there's a restaurant hidden behind the inconspicuous entrance. We wouldn't have eaten here without the tip from Google Maps. The food was simply amazing. Finally, a restaurant that also offers fantastic food for people who don't want to eat animals. The vegan platter for two was incredibly delicious. And so plentiful that we had to leave some leftovers. The service was friendly and really nice. The whole team there seems cool. It's a shame we live so far away, on the border with Switzerland, otherwise we would eat here regularly. But we'll definitely be back. Thank you so much for the fantastic food.

It was delicious, and if you like to eat a lot, you'll definitely find what you're looking for here. The homemade lemonade is sparkling water, syrup, and a slice of lemon, at least I think that's my only criticism. Otherwise, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean.

My favorite restaurant in Giessen. Unassuming from the outside, but beautifully decorated inside. The food is always delicious, and there's a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. I haven't ordered anything yet that wasn't good. My favorites: grilled cheese, baba ghanouch, hummus, and falafel 🤤

The food was exceptionally good. The mixed appetizer platter was the best, giving me a whole new taste experience. The grill plate had a good balance between meat, salad, sauces, and vegetables. If you want to experience something new, this is the place to go. The service was also above average.

Very tasty dishes, tastes very good and is a really beautifully stylishly decorated restaurant.

From the outside, it looks truly unassuming. The kitchen bar is right by the entrance, making it seem quite small. But when you walk through the back, a beautiful, very tasteful space opens up. The food is simply a taste explosion, and you can get anything you want immediately upon request. The bathroom is also beautifully designed, and you just feel completely at home. I highly recommend it and will definitely come back myself.

We were there today for a birthday party, and it was fantastic! From the outside, you'd think it was a snack bar, but inside, there's so much attention to detail. The chef has put a lot of effort into the place, and the food is fresh and homemade. We're so happy to have found such a lovely little gem in Giessen—we rolled out of there.

A beautifully decorated little restaurant with friendly staff who were always there to help. The food was fantastic! We had hummus and baby eggplant for starters – both excellent and obviously homemade. For the main course, we had the grilled platter. The meat was very tender and deliciously seasoned, along with homemade hummus, tzatziki, yogurt dip, coleslaw, and fries. Everything went together wonderfully. Dessert was a must – although it had rose water on it, which wasn't stated on the menu, it was used discreetly and, together with the mocha, was really good. So, one of the restaurants in Giessen where you can eat very well, and one we would happily recommend.

The Byblos platter for two people was truly delicious. It's not even a starter. The dishes were plentiful and very tasty. Fried eggplant, diced potatoes, fried cauliflower, falafel, and various sauces to go with them. We also had fries and saffron rice. We didn't really need any more for two people. Overall, exceptionally delicious (vegan) food. The ambiance was very nice. The service was particularly friendly and attentive.

The food was good, but the portion was rather small. My drink was odorless, but the glass smelled musty. The service was nonexistent after the food was brought.

The food here was really delicious and there are also many vegan or vegetarian dishes. The staff was also really super nice. We shared a vegan platter and even got something extra to make sure we were both full.

This was our first time at Byblos Restaurant and we really enjoyed it. From the outside it looks like a snack bar but when you sit down in the restaurant it reveals its charm with its Mediterranean, oriental decoration. The dishes on the menu were all well described, there were vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes. The grill plate was very tasty and the service was attentive and friendly, everything was perfect and we would happily recommend it to others!

We had heard very good things about Byblos and walked in today by chance. The restaurant at the back is very stylishly furnished and the owner gave us really warm and courteous service! The food was super delicious, there was a lot of vegan choice and everything was fresh and homemade! The falafel and dips with bread were particularly good. We will come back!

My mother, my sister and I had dinner there last night. My sister raved about the restaurant to us - and we were not disappointed! Incredibly delicious fresh food in generous portions, super nice service, cozy atmosphere, great prices - everything was just right! We were there for probably 4 hours - and at the end a dessert was brought to us on the house. So, I will definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

The Byblos Restaurant is a special and warm place in the middle of Giessen. If you want to eat super delicious Lebanese food - vegan_vegetarian_or with meat... you've come to the right place. The food is fabulous! Everything is very lovingly and beautifully prepared - as we all know, the eye eats too. 😊 The service takes a while, but since the restaurant also delivers and offers food-to-go, it's absolutely understandable. The staff was courteous and very friendly. Toilets clean! Prices are right! Small but nice. Absolutely recommended 👍
