Very tasty cocktails! The food is also delicious. However, conversations are a bit difficult because it is usually very loud.

I really have to praise you because nowhere else in Gießen have I received such friendly service as I do here. The service is always casually friendly, super attentive and you feel welcome at all times. Compliments also to the kitchen, you can definitely eat well here. :)

Close to the train station, prices are okay, food is okay.

Aphids in the glass - and the manager just said that this was normal, after all a natural product. Excuse me? None. We didn't want a discount or replacement at all, but some understanding would have been nice. Instead, the water with the aphids continued to be freely available to all guests. If you like extras of this kind, you've come to the right place...

I was really disappointed with my visit. There were aphids in my drink, which I politely told the manager. Instead of showing understanding or offering a solution, I was fobbed off by saying that it was a “natural product” and that “no one else would have complained”. I find this reaction completely inappropriate as hygiene and customer service should come first. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here.

We've been to the buffet before and thought it was good. This time too we were really looking forward to the visit, but what we experienced was simply disappointing. There were aphids swimming in the water at the buffet – yes, you read that right, aphids. When we politely pointed this out to the staff, we were told that this was “normal” and part of a “natural product”. It's nice that they explained to us right away how little our opinion counts, because "it doesn't bother anyone else." It seems that hygiene is interpreted relatively here, and criticism seems to be ignored rather than taken seriously. Thank you for this “experience”. A visit that we will certainly not repeat. We didn't want a discount or anything like that, but I think the water would have had to be put away, but it was still freely accessible to everyone. It would certainly have bothered the other people if they had known. Irresponsible

Good morning, Was there for the first time and found it really outstanding. The atmosphere is very appealing and the drinks were very excellent. The staff brought the drinks very quickly and was super friendly. I haven't tried the food, I'll probably have to next time. All in all, only recommended. An insider tip, for example, is “cocktail dice”. It was a lot of fun and with a bit of luck you can also save money😉 Until next time🤗

I won't be a regular there. We were only there because we were invited. I would not choose this location as a host. 1. No parking spaces (only parking garage and that is expensive 3 hours 5.70 euros) 2. If you have to sit upstairs and have to walk down to the buffet every time, that's inconvenient. 3. The scrambled eggs were ice cold by the time I got to my seat upstairs. I can't get around well with a slight walking disability. 4. It pulled really hard, my leg was ice cold, like scrambled eggs. 5. The waitress had something with her ears or the music was too loud. 6. Conclusion for me: once and never again!

When my wife told me she wanted to go there and compared it with other restaurants in Frankfurt & Wiesbaden, I was at least curious. 2.) The team An outstanding team from the first contact to the end! Polite, courteous, kind, careful, professional, attentive,… I can think of other words. But I also don’t want to make it hard to read. 3.) The ambience Anyone who has been out and about here and there in Germany's metropolises, whether in the evening or in the morning, will know this type of restaurant. Everything seems round, inviting and gives a feeling of coziness. “A touch of vacation,” my wife remarked and I can only agree! 4.) The Food - Brunch on Sunday morning I like to take a break from everyday life, even with children, on Sunday mornings. So I've already tried a few places. What did I get here in the middle of Gießen - even in comparison? Two things surprised me more than positively from the first moment: as much coffee as I wanted (they didn't expect me! 😁) and the hygiene! Here's the highlight: The offering of jam and butter was in small, closed jars. The offer itself can be described as “small” compared to various alternatives. However, nothing is missing and, as if by magic, the relatively small amount of each meal is quickly replenished as it nears the end. So I got the impression and tasted that the things were all fresh. 5.) Conclusion Unusually short: I love it! And I will definitely come back! Thanks to the team in front of and behind the kitchen door!

The service was there quickly and the drinks we ordered were brought quickly. However, we found the mixed finger food for 20 euros to be a bit low compared to the price. There was a mozzarella stick and two chicken wings. Plus a few potato wedges and tortilla chips with two dips. The cocktails were all very tasty and the service was very nice and quick.

Dear Mr.Jones team, we visited you yesterday for the first time in about 15 years (OMG, could it really have been that long ago?). With children and a lot of luggage and on the way to the train heading north. Since the large fast food chain in the train station has been frequented too often during our travels, we decided to take a detour to Mr.Jones. Due to a small hiccup in the travel plan, we had less time than expected and had to order take-away food - but you still gave us a very warm welcome, took the order quickly, served drinks and made the kids very happy with the prompt delivery of the large children's menu to color in made. It sweetened part of the long journey for them. The club sandwiches I ordered had plenty of toppings, everything was crisp and fresh, and my order - without sauce/dressing - was carried out completely correctly, labeled well and the sandwich was still super tasty. The fries survived the journey to the train well and were very well received. The portion sizes were generous and, in my opinion, the food was not too expensive compared to other providers. The missing star in the ambience is due to my preference for smaller locations and only has something to do with the fact that it often gets too loud for me in such large, open rooms later in the evening (if this is no longer the case for you due to structural measures Of course the 5th should come along 😉). But that is a personal feeling and will certainly be perceived differently by many people. Architecturally it has something to offer, the high ceilings. In any case, we will come back next time we visit Giessen and have more time with us.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Mr. Jones today! I have been eating there regularly for many years since the store opened, the last time was 8 years ago and up until then I was always very satisfied with the food on offer. Everything tasted great throughout! However, today I was served something that was more like a poor canteen meal and was absolutely not worth the €19.90! My chicken strips called "Creamy Chicken" were not creamy in the least and had a tasteless watery sauce, with industrial topiary chicken (like the frozen chicken strips from Aldi) and 3 mushroom strips that you had to look for. There were also 3 tiny little Rösti that seemed to come from a large package from METRO and were also tasteless and barely hinted at a potato taste! The best thing was the included salad variation. Since I was so hungry and all the service staff had either disappeared behind the counter or were otherwise busy, I ate most of it and only expressed my dissatisfaction when I was paying! I didn't expect to have to pay anything for my food, but saw it as a lesson and mentally wrote off the place because I know that there are some better alternatives in the catering sector in Gießen that are cheaper and understand their craft better. The gentleman from the shift management, who was called over by the nice lady from the service (who couldn't do anything about the food) because of my criticism, unfortunately didn't react in a particularly understanding or customer-oriented way! He just said that I should have reported earlier so that I would have been offered something else to eat! Plus, “he” has been eating Creamy Chicken every 2-3 days for 14 years and it’s always good! But that doesn't mean that it's good for everyone else and is a guarantee!!! I demonstrated to him the wateriness of the sauce that covered the plate, but he wasn't interested! Mentioned that the description of the food on the menu was misleading, he talked his way out of it! I also said that I didn't want any other food because my partner's food wasn't good either and I wouldn't expect anything else to taste better, let alone wait half an hour for new food when I was hungry you don't even have to! Just wanted to criticize! Didn't have the feeling that they were getting into it in any way! As expected, we ended up paying the full price and however, unfortunately I will no longer recommend Mr Jones! What a shame! Unfortunately, I thought that if you go to a professional and pay professional prices you will also get professional quality! Unfortunately not with Mr. Jones!

Well, what can you say, it could have been so nice. The Mr.Jones is nicely decorated and the service was friendly...but that's where the positive ends! Unfortunately, the food is of poor canteen quality. Frozen goods, tasteless and overpriced. For the prices you expect at least solid food. If you walk out of the store and think that I could have done better at home for a quarter of the price, something is really wrong. We thought that after we hadn't been to Mr.Jones for a good 10 years, we could eat there again (the food there used to be quite good). Unfortunately, an absolute zero number. After we ate (because we were hungry) we told the waitress that it wasn't really good. We were then told that we should have complained about it at the beginning and then they would have brought us something else. To be honest, it makes no sense if the chef has unfortunately already declared taste insolvency on the first try. We didn't want a discount either! We see it as a lesson.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the holiday breakfast. The price of €18.90 is absolutely not justified for me. Very little selection and cheap quality, for example, fresh egg waffles from the package from the discount store are simply dusted with a little powdered sugar. The “fruit salad” actually only consisted of apples. I expected much more and have already gotten it in other restaurants for the same price.

My pregnant wife ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and received one with alcohol. Under no circumstances should this happen! When the waiter brought the drink it didn't really look like what we expected. When we asked again whether the drink was really non-alcoholic, he assured us again that it was definitely non-alcoholic. Unfortunately it wasn't alcohol free. They apologized and then brought the right drink. This one looked nothing like the first. Color and glass were different. The waiter should have noticed this, at the latest when we asked. Absolute disaster...

Overall, I enjoy coming here. The service is great, as is the selection of drinks and food. But what really bothers me: warm orange juice at the breakfast buffet and €8.50 for this tiny chocolate cake, which is really a bit excessive in my opinion.

The waiter spilled an entire Weizen beer on me at my girlfriend’s birthday party. I was completely wet from the back to my legs. I had to go home, shower, and come back. My girlfriend’s bag was also wet which included electronics like my earphones. Their response was to only give one free beer. Terrible service and specially disappointing since it was my favourite place. Even bought Gutscheine for my other friends to go there.

My review refers to the Sunday brunch for €18. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed during our visit, as the “Sunday brunch” was more like a standard breakfast. In addition to a small assortment of rolls, bread, jam, honey and Nutella, a small selection of sausages, cheese as well as boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and sausages, there is natural yogurt with muesli varieties, ready-made fruit salad, pickled salad with dressing and two cakes. Perfect for breakfast, but I expect a little more for brunch. Of course you have to take into account the relatively low price for a buffet, but the offer was still not right. But the staff was very accommodating and friendly! ☺️

Ambiance is okay, a little something needs to be freshened up but otherwise nice, you can't complain about the food, it was delicious, the service was overwhelmed with my order but everyone was still very friendly whether in the upper or lower area. Die 3 Sternen sind NUR für die super nette Bedienung. Das Essen aber: Sehr magere Auswahl zum Abendessen. Steaks: keine richtigen Steaks, sondern nur Schweine Minutensteaks und Hähnchen. Pasta&Co ... Naja!! Zwangsläufig bestellten wir Hamburger (Jones Burger). Die waren in Ordnung, ABER für den Preis, nein, nein, nein. In Gießen gibt's viel bessere Burgers mit besseren Preisen. Nochmals werden wir nicht da essen gehen. (Wir waren 10 Personen)

Where should I start... We reserved a table at MR Jones for a birthday and specifically asked about the cocktail dice on the phone. Apparently this offer is no longer available at MR Jones. However, this was not communicated to us over the phone. When we arrived we were greeted by a listless, unmotivated and extremely unsympathetic waiter who directed us to the roof terrace. When he asked if we wanted to order anything, we told him we wanted to wait until we were full. This was met with listless huffing and eye rolling. But my absolute highlight was dealing with a little surprise for the birthday child: a guest brought a tiny, homemade cake that we wanted to eat quickly. When we asked for napkins or plates, we were told that eating the cake would cost €5. Don't get me wrong, it's not about the €5, it's about dealing with customers. After this outrageousness we paid and changed the location. And what can I say, dear MR Jones: In the other location we were asked if we needed napkins or something similar for the cake and we were brought (without asking) a candle to blow out, which we could put in the cake. Take an example. We're never coming back. There are better alternatives. Cocktails and food were OK.

...für mich immer tripple A! Ich kenne das Lokal schon ewig und liebe es zu früstücken. Dazu sein angemerkt, dass ich beruflich viel in Hotels bin. Die Beständigkeit der Qualität ist hier besonders zu nennen. Ein Früstücksbuffet zu betreiben ist bestimmt für die Servicekräfte eine Herausforderung! Ich kenne kein anderes Lokal mit diesem Langzeitzeitwert, einfach toll! Wem all das nicht reicht, der möge doch zuhause essen und sich darüber freuen, oder eben nicht. Ich merke das an, weil es komische Bewertungen gibt hier.

Nice place to have breakfast with nice staff. The breakfast is OK, but it can be described as more of a normal standard. There is definitely not enough on offer for 13.90 euros. Real rolls would round things off a bit, the small baked rolls aren't that great. It's definitely better and cheaper in Giessen...

Now it's getting really old. Food well, price/performance ratio not good, service good and committed. Ambiance ok. There is a folding support handle in the, unfortunately very narrow, toilet. It's very conveniently located near the train and bus stations.

Tasty, cozy, clean - prices are about above what would be reasonable, but given the large portions and the central location, they are almost justified.

We recently went to Mr. Jones again after many years. The atmosphere is still inviting and the numerous waitresses are very friendly. The cocktails we drank were very tasty and also very good value for money. We weren't necessarily happy with the food. The burger apparently uses simple ready-made patties. Here you could go for better quality or make it yourself. Unfortunately, the mixed grill plate, which is listed under Bigger & Bigger and costs €19.90, had very little meat. For example, the piece of chicken was eaten in two bites. I would have liked a little more quantity here. Conclusion: We would be happy to come back to have a nice cocktail, but not for the food.

My opinion of Mr. Jones could be described as very ambivalent, because although my food was very tasty, my comrades had a rather disappointing experience with their food. The waiter who served us was also very nice 50% of the time, and 50% of the time he just seemed annoyed with us. In itself, Mr. Jones is really nice to see, but I have to report that it was very stuffy and hot when I visited. So do kammama.

Food and ambience are great. I wasn't exactly impressed with the service employee. I ordered 2 cokes and kindly pointed out to him that it was Zero and we wanted a normal one. His reaction was substandard. Politeness and friendliness gets you further.

Das Ambiente mag ich sehr. Auf zwei Stockwerken findet man eigentlich immer einen Platz. Die Dach Terrasse lädt zum verweilen ein.

The food was really good, there was a lot going on and therefore quite loud. The staff was very accommodating, even if you often had to look for someone to actually order from.

Compared to the beginning of the 2000s, when I often ate there as a student, the menu is quite monotonous. Miss the Mac n Cheese from back in the day. Otherwise, burgers/wraps/finger food like everything else. Cocktails are still great, of course the staff too! :)

Whenever I'm in Giessen, I always like to go to Mr. Jones. The service here is always really nice, the cocktails taste good and the food is always delicious. I think it's very good that there is a relatively large selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu. In addition, it is always very clean here and the Jones is beautifully designed. However, I was recently quite disappointed with the breakfast buffet on Saturday. Yes, it's only about €12 rather cheap, but if I'm going to have breakfast, then I expect a little more quality in the rolls and generally more choice. I would be willing to pay more for that. I no longer go here for breakfast on Saturdays. Still overall highly recommended!

I'm in town occasionally on Sundays and Mr. Jones is one of my favorite places to spend time. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming, which keeps me coming back again and again. Although I don't always get my regular spot, I'm impressed by the many great alternatives I'm offered. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. I never feel overwhelmed and can still enjoy high-quality food and drinks. A special thank you goes to the team for their warm hospitality. Your kindness and attentiveness make my visit a pleasant experience every time.

Happy hour starts at 11 p.m. and at 10:59 p.m. the waiter came and announced that it was our last round. At 11:30 p.m. the chairs were put up to show us that we should leave. Once and never again.

We've been coming here for probably 10 years and I always eat the same thing but it tastes great every time. The dice evening on Monday is a great success. You can tell that the bosses run the store well and enjoy doing it. The staff is great and always nice and polite even under the most stressful times.

The food was actually pretty good but the cocktails were so weak that it wasn't even worth rolling the cocktail dice :( Edit: I was rolling the cocktail dice again and this time the cocktails were really good! Hence 4 stars. Hopefully next time there will be 5!

Für unsere Tochter ist Mr. Jones das Lieblingslokal. Der Burger mit dem Pommskörbchen ist für sie ein absolutes Highlight. Als wir Ende Februar 2024 zum Brunchen dort waren, hatten wir ohne Tischreservierung , nach großem Bemühen vieler Servicekräft, noch einen Tisch bekommen. Zudem wurden uns die Brunchgutscheine (schon etwas älter) sehr großzügig angerechnet und mit einem "veganen Frühstück" verrechnet! Das vegane Frühstück war wirklich sehr lecker! (O-Saft, Joghurt mit frischem Obst, ein tolles Körnerbrötchen mit Aufstrich, Rukola und anderem, sowie eine aufgeschnittene Avocado, plus einem Tee ließen keine Wünsche offen. Frisch und appettitlich zubereitet und serviert auf einem Tablett.

We went for Sunday brunch. Buffet quite ok. Selection quite ok so far. Unfortunately you have to walk down some stairs from the 1st floor to get coffee and juice. Not so good for older people. The staff was super friendly and constantly refilling. There was sausage, cheese, jam, eggs and bacon and some desserts. The selection could be expanded a little. Us, for example There was no more choice of bread or croissants. Unfortunately there was no salmon, which I like to eat for brunch. Savings were also made on tomatoes and cucumbers. There was always only a little on the sausage platter and sold out very quickly.

Service is always excellent, even when there is a lot going on, you never lose touch. The prices are partly ok, partly a bit high. The selection of drinks is excellent. The selection of food is more than sufficient, but can also be described as fast and finger food. The Farmer Sandwich was great because of the combination with the western potatoes, but the pulled pork should have been hotter. I'd love to come back.

The fries were already cold but at least they tasted okay. The burger, on the other hand, was dry and without any sauce, would have expected more from a place like this. It's a good way to satisfy your quick hunger if you want to pay €14 for a dry, small burger. However, if you want to go out for burgers, you should choose a restaurant that knows how to make burgers.

Breakfast buffet at its best! Huge selection of coffee to choose from. Very nice service. Clean, well-kept guest area. Nice outdoor area in summer. This is how a day can begin. Here it is really nice, clean, comfortable and friendly to the fullest. Great store, great atmosphere whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and celebration with friends. You come in and feel really, really comfortable. No long waiting time until a condition comes up, the whole thing is highly recommended. Great food, great drinks, clean glasses, I mean that you don't get little pale ones in your mouth the next day if glasses haven't been cleaned properly. No annoyed staff like in some other shops, bars, pubs. I can only recommend it, thanks to the whole team, keep it up. Thank you 😁

Ich war zum dritten Mal dort und nicht das letzte mal ist immer sehr gut gewesen.

Fur Menschen mit Zöliakie sehr zu empfehlen. Hier gibt es eine glutenfreie Speisekarte und eine große Auswahl an glutenfreien Speisen. Personal ist sehr nett. Essen ist richtig lecker!

Wir kamen mit der Bahn an und mussten zu flixbus am Mathematikum. Kamen dann an Mr. Jones vorbei und dachten, wir hätten ja noch einen Moment (ca 30 min) um ein Kaffee/Hefeweizen zu trinken. Also sind wir rein. War recht leer und ruhig weil, sie machten erst vor ner halben Stunde auf. Setzten uns hin, warteten, wurden ständig angeguckt als wären wir zootiere, bis dann nach knapp 15 min ENDLICH jemand kam und die Bestellung aufnahm. Dann 5 min später stand der Kaffee und das Hefeweizen auf dem Tisch, was wir dann letztendlich runterkippen mussten damit wir rechtzeitig zum Bus kamen. Also Fazit, halbe Stunde ist zu kurz für einen kleinen Kaffee und Hefeweizen dort zu trinken. Da manch einer denkt, ich würde Filmreife Rezessionen schreiben. Man merke an: Ich konnte direkt auf eine Bahnhofsuhr gucken!!! Foto dient als Beweis , für meine Anwesenheit!!!! Ich bin schon ein paar Tage, Local Guide, einfach mein Profil mal durchgucken. Ich hab es nicht nötig Unwahrheiten zu schreiben.(steht übrigens auch, in meinem Profil,. Liegt wahrscheinlich, an der heutigen Gesellschaft. Meckern und immer mehr wollen aber die Qualität/Quantität nicht aufrecht erhalten. Trauriges Zeitalter. Bewertungen, sind da um was zu ändern!!!!!! Annehmen, ändern und sich an Reisender Kundschaft erfreuen!!!! Aber wer nicht will der hat schon👌😉

War heute zum Sonntags Buffet dort. Das ganze Buffet ist toll angerichtet. Das Personal war super aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Chef selbst packt mit an und begrüßt die Gäste - da fühlt man sich Willkommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Es gibt zudem Kinderstühle und auch Wickelmöglichkeiten... alles perfekt. 😀 Eine Reservierung würde ich empfehlen.

Sehr nette Bedienung und das Essen war auch lecker

Waren zum Frühstücksbuffet dort. Zwar etwas begrenzte Auswahl, aber sehr faire Preise, dafür dass man sich am Buffet den ganzen Morgen bedienen kann. Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Lage am Bahnhof muss man mögen.

Früher waren wir gerne hier. Das Ambiente ist nach wie vor sehr schön. Das Essen allerdings ist wirklich mitlerweile ein ,,Witz". Bestellt hatte ich laut Karte drei Schweine Nackensteaks inkl. Beilagen. Was allerdings gebracht wurde, waren drei kleine grade mal 1cm dicke Läppchen, welche definitiv Pute waren und kein Schwein. Da ich Hunger hatte, habe ich zu der Bedienung auch nichts gesagt. Es war auch lecker, aber für 17,50€ absolut nicht zufriedenstellend! Ein Weizenbier für 5,10€... Und das bei derzeit noch gesenkter Mwst. Wo soll das noch hinführen. Für zwei Bier kann ich mir einen ganzen Kasten Öttinger kaufen. Zum Nachtisch gab's noch drei(!) Kugeln Vanilleeis inkl. Schokosauce und Sahne für 5,50€(!). Ich kann es mir leisten, aber das heißt nicht das ich diese Preise gut finde. Die Bedienung schien auch genervt zu sein. Trinkgeld gab's dementsprechend keins. Das war leider nach vielen Jahren auch nun der letzte Besuch. Antwort: Würden Ihre Mitarbeiter ein wenig freundlicher sein (natürlich nicht alle!), würden Sie auch Trinkgeld bekommen! Das mit ,,Witz" war auf die angeblichen Schweinenackensteaks bezogen, welche definitiv keine waren. Weiterhin viel Erfolg mit Ihrem Unternehmen.

Als wir kürzlich im Mr. Jones waren, wurden meine Freundin und ich ausgesprochen freundlich empfangen. Der ganze Service und das Essen waren mehr als gelungen. Herzlichen Dank dafür. Schade, dass vor einiger Zeit eine nicht ganz so positive Erfahrung -also ein Einzelfall- zu einer pauschal negativen Bewertung meinerseits geführt hatte. Das tut mir aufrichtig leid. Ich wünsche mir von Herzen, dass ihr weiterhin so großartig bleibt -und euch rundherum und überhaupt alles erdenklich Gute!

Lieber Mr.Jones. Ich war am 4.12 bei Ihnen zu Gast. Meine Tochter feierte ihren Geburtstag,in ihrem Haus.Mein Essen musste ich zurück gehen lassen da das Fleisch wie auch die Nudeln fast kalt waren und es nach nichts schmeckte.Keine Gewürze o.ä. Zwei an unterem Tisch Probierten es,und empfanden es genauso. Das Essen ging zurück und musste es auch nicht bezahlen. Zu meiner Bewertung von der Walkemühle,ja dort war ich am 2.12 und sehr angetan. Warum darf ich nicht an einem Tag meine Bewertungen nachholen da mir dies durch Google am 4.12 angezeigt wurde?! Wo bitte bitte entsprechen meine Angaben oder ich nicht der Wahrheit?! Schauen Sie mal in Ihren Reservierungen dann sehen Sie es selbst. Ich möchte niemandem Schaden,aber meine Erfahrung zum essen erwähnen. Ambiente sowie die Getränke und der Service sind sehr gut..
