Everything was fine, but the wait at check-in was too long.

A very nice, well-maintained hotel in central Giessen. The center is about a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh. The beds are very comfortable.

We had a truly wonderful time here; the hotel stands out for its friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was very clean, the beds comfortable, and despite the extra bed, we had plenty of space. One minor drawback: The bathroom light was a bit dim, as was the ventilation, but both were perfectly acceptable. Thanks to the good location, we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see (city center, theater, Watering Can Museum, Giessen Museum, pedestrian zone), which was very relaxing. We would love to come back.

The rooms are really good. Not smoky, clean, unfortunately a bit dated but in good condition. The location is okay. There are parking spaces on the street and on-site parking with a few charging stations (11kW), it's not a parking zone, but correspondingly not close to the center. Service: Reception was unfortunately chaotic. We had called early so we could get a room before 3 p.m. (1-2 p.m. would have been fine) to get dressed and prepared for a wedding. Result: We arrived late for the ceremony. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones there that day. The line stretched all the way to the entrance area. Breakfast: buffet-style, you can help yourself, and there's a good coffee machine. There's a sauna and pool. I didn't see them. Can't rate them. Overall, I'm unfortunately not that satisfied. If they could better resolve the congestion at reception with room allocation, I'd give it another star. Then my rating would be in line with the hotel's star rating. Photos to follow.

We stayed at the Best Western for two nights and were satisfied. The bathroom is very small, and the small bathtub is outdated. It's also very slippery in places, and I almost slipped. The beds are comfortable. The location is quiet. Breakfast is very good. It gets very busy from 9 a.m. onwards. Unfortunately, some guests are very tense and impatient at the buffet. But that's not the Jotel's fault.

We got a very good room, despite having a four-legged friend. The hotel provided a dog blanket and a dog bowl. Very thoughtful! Breakfast was more than adequate and delicious. Beds were comfortable and provided a restful sleep. The staff was generally very attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel!

A solid Best Western within walking distance of the city center. Excellent food and a lovely little sauna with a pool in the basement. We'd happily stay there again.

The wellness area is very small. Only two loungers for the entire hotel, and there's no place to relax after a sauna session.

This is what a hotel should be. Super friendly, helpful staff, and of course, the manager. Great location, comfortable beds, everything beautifully clean, and a huge selection at the buffet with everything your heart desires.

I chose the hotel because of the attractive pool area and the location in Giessen. Unfortunately, that was a mistake! - The pool wasn't available, - Wi-Fi on the 6th floor was interrupted every minute, - It felt like sleeping on a washing machine. But it wasn't; it was the kitchen exhaust, which hummed furiously until after 10 p.m. and again from 6 a.m. onward, and - The shower head in the shower tray sprays the wall and ceiling more than the person standing underneath it – unfortunately, it can't be adjusted! The waiver of the parking fee didn't make up for the broken pool – I couldn't find any information about it on the website. This morning, the reception was unsympathetic; I wasn't even asked if they were satisfied. Only when I mentioned the shortcomings and explained that the hotel was no longer an option for me due to the above-mentioned issues did they just stare at me. Sad, but true! However, the breakfast service was very nice (except for the dirty water bucket, which should have been found somewhere else!). The breakfast buffet was excellent; I would happily give it 5 stars.

We stayed there for a weekend. The rooms looked very chic at first glance, but upon closer inspection, they weren't worth a 4*. Dinner was okay, a bit too salty for our taste. Breakfast was terrific, with something for everyone. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a good location, but there isn't much nearby. Giessen in general is very beautiful, with many historical monuments.

The room is showing its age. Poor lighting in the bathroom, torn curtains, and, most unfortunate of all, a missing smoke detector in the room. The breakfast was plentiful but nothing exceptional! Not a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel for us.

Very quiet location, a bit too isolated for me. The receptionist playing music while checking in wasn't particularly friendly, but they were very helpful in the morning. The breakfast was very good, with a plentiful selection, including fresh filter coffee. The rooms were functional and clean. The kettle with the coffee and tea options was particularly noteworthy.

An all-round successful stay: The welcome upon arrival was extremely warm and professional – the reception staff impressed us with their friendliness and attentiveness. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and offer a high level of comfort. The air conditioning and minibar refrigerator worked perfectly; only the air conditioning occasionally made a slight noise, which was not disturbing. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired: it is very varied and impresses with fresh, delicious rolls from a local bakery. Conclusion: Highly recommended – we would gladly come back!

We (a family of three) stayed at the Best Western Plus in Giessen yesterday. Unfortunately, the reception was anything but pleasant – we didn't feel welcome. We would like to highlight the positive aspects: the sauna, rooms, and breakfast quality were truly excellent. However, we had the impression that hardly anyone in the entire hotel enjoyed their work. The atmosphere in the breakfast room was particularly unpleasant: Upon entering, the person in charge of the buffet stared at us for a long time, and only after we said "Good morning" did they respond. Without asking if we were ready, our plates were immediately cleared away – which made us feel like we should leave quickly. We are uncomplicated and unpretentious guests, but we have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel. It's a shame, because the hotel itself has great potential.

An average hotel with mediocre rooms, but a good breakfast. The staff is also very friendly. At Best Western, you get what you expect. Price-wise, though, it's not the cheapest.

A very unfriendly person on the phone. I asked about a room. He told me you could only book through Booking, not over the phone or in person. He became very loud. I've never experienced anything like that before. Unbelievable. I'm going to another hotel now.

This hotel is in a truly beautiful and quiet setting. We were there for business and were able to quickly get into town or to the market. We couldn't complain about the room either. Small, elegant, and comfortable. The hotel bar was also very satisfactory; we received a delicious cocktail every day from Mrs. Heigl, for which she really went out of her way. She is also a hospitable employee, as are the other employees there. I would definitely come back because the hotel left a good, lasting impression on me.

The hotel impressed with its pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. The hotel bar deserves special mention: Mrs. Heigl, with her friendly manner and outstanding service, made the evenings a special experience. The freshly tapped pilsner was always of the highest quality, and the cocktails were of the highest quality, both in terms of taste and presentation. This made the evenings at the bar a true highlight of the stay.

Shower doesn't work. Water only trickles out a tiny bit.

Really bad for a 4-star hotel. The staff are very friendly, though. The carpet in the room is coming away from the walls. The wallpaper is poorly hung. It's far too warm without air conditioning or anything else. The toilet in the bathroom is leaking and dripping. The tub doesn't hold any water, and the hairdryer turns off after half a minute and doesn't turn back on for a few hours. For a 4-star hotel and this price, you expect a lot more.

Popular hotel, very good location, quiet yet relatively central. Beautiful room with air conditioning and very attractive furnishings. The food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious and plentiful. The service deserves a special mention: attentive, and extremely friendly (reception!). We were very pleasantly surprised by the overall package at the Best Western Plus Hotel Steinsgarten and can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.

A very nice hotel, conveniently located in the city center. We parked our car and left the parking lot only after checking out. The pool and the food, breakfast and dinner, were also very good. We would have given it 5 stars if there hadn't been a bathtub in the bathroom and if they had been more sparing with the towels and bathrobes in the spa area. Two in each room would certainly be enough. We saw guests change both several times.

A beautiful hotel with clean, albeit often in need of repair, rooms. Aside from the hotel's status, the service is quite friendly, with room for improvement. A lovely wellness area with a pool and sauna. Upscale dining options.

I was given room and founf there was infestation , But service was really great they quickly changed my room.

Breakfast was plentiful and good. The bed was very comfortable.

Unfortunately, the internet connection in the hotel left a lot to be desired. I also found the staff, especially in the breakfast area and at reception, to be rude and lacking in service. For these reasons, I will not book this hotel again in the future.

Very friendly staff and a solid hotel. We were here for work and were able to hold our creative workshops. It was very convenient that we were able to hold all of our agenda items on site, including a fantastic dinner on the terrace with top-quality wine and a BBQ, as well as a sunset view.

I stayed at the Best Western for four days and was very satisfied. My room was clean and the box-spring bed was comfortable. My room didn't have air conditioning, but there was a sand fan. The service staff was attentive, and the food was varied and plentiful. I'd be happy to come back.

I highly recommend this hotel! I've been there twice already and haven't regretted it. Excellent rooms, top-notch service, and extremely qualified, friendly, and helpful staff. We'd love to come back.

I don't like writing negative reviews. Unfortunately, our satisfaction was not asked at check out, so I would like to share my experiences here. The room and bathroom were outdated and not clean everywhere. The shower head couldn't be adjusted, making it almost impossible to shower. The balcony in particular was dirty and smelled clearly of nicotine. The breakfast also did not meet the standard of a 4-star hotel. Vegetables and fruit in particular looked dry, as if they had been there for days.

The good things first: the location is relatively practical and the breakfast was above average - but unfortunately that's about it for the positive aspects, because everything else has a very negative impact: 1. I had to pay at check-in; I regularly stay in different hotels, but I don't know this approach from hotels in Germany and I think it's dubious; When I asked, the employee's justification was that guests kept leaving the hotel without paying and in such cases the employee on duty at the reception had to make up for this loss out of his own pocket; I can't verify this claim, but I think it's implausible - however, the mere fact that the employee told me all this shows that something is going terribly wrong in this hotel, especially with the management 2. When checking in, I had to manually enter personal data into a form that I had already sent to the hotel online - just annoying and unnecessary 3. in the room I was hit by a rubber band and a tablet in the closet; there were several conspicuous signs throughout the room that reminded me of a no-parking zone, as well as a broken window control; Greeted in the bathroom by an extremely dusty ventilation, torn toilet paper and a hand shower under which you can only stand upright if you are no taller than approx. 165 cm (see photos) - an imposition 4. I received several emails during the night about a bonus program from Best Western, which I am now supposedly participating in; I never knowingly gave my consent to this - I consider that to be excessive 5. The uncovered parking space on the hotel grounds cost extra (€13 for 1 night) - completely excessive for me 6. When checking out I encountered the manager at reception who didn't even ask if my stay was pleasant - very unprofessional So a total failure; never this hotel again; As a guest I feel like a fool there; the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all

Large hotel on the edge of the city center. The reception is very nice, everything is well maintained and the room and bathroom were very clean. Everything you need for a pleasant stay is there; there is free water, coffee and tea in the room. WiFi is fast, encrypted and reliable, the password is on the room card. The beds were a bit too soft for my taste. The breakfast buffet was rich and the quality was good, there was something for everyone. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and quick. The style of the hotel is a bit retro, if you value a fancy ambience you're in the wrong place, but everything else was fine.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. If you arrive by train, you need a taxi or have to be able to walk well. There is a hotel parking space for those arriving by car. The room was very spacious and well equipped, although I also had a junior suite.

Numerous parking spaces at the hotel. The hotel is located a little outside the center, but you can walk to it in just a few minutes. E.g. At Kinopolis. The hotel bar is a curiosity, unfortunately the music is too loud.

First of all: The service and quality in the dining area, especially at breakfast, is impressive. Nice, attentive staff and top selection. Unfortunately, that doesn't apply to the rest. The staff at the reception seemed unmotivated and sometimes overwhelmed. During check-in, a colleague was sitting in the background on his cell phone, even though people were piling up at the counter. The equipment is solid, but is getting old. Which is a shame, because many visual defects could have been improved in a flash. This also applies to the so-called spa area, which is a joke. A poorly heated pool with just 3 loungers! Plus a mini sauna without steam, that's it. Here, too, there are a lot of little indications that there is a lack of attention to detail. If the rest of the hotel could take a leaf out of the dining area, it would be really nice there. But unfortunately it's just mediocre, sorry.

Awesome – I think that says it all. Check-in was at 3:00 PM. We asked for a quiet room and got the last one in the hallway… Perfect. We treated ourselves to in-room dining – it was really delicious. Breakfast is also good. After checking out at 11:00 AM, we were still able to use the sauna and swimming pool. Everything was very relaxed. The huge parking lot with a barrier (€13, not exactly cheap, but convenient) is something I highly recommend.

And once again, a Best Western of the finest quality—everything top-notch, from the staff to the rooms. Always happy to stay there.

Hotel is ok... breakfast is great, as is the wellness area... we had a power outage several times when we turned on the air conditioning - this is a known problem, but the hotel doesn't fix it - so it's better to only go to the hotel if you don't need air conditioning!

We were just there over New Year's Eve. Rooms clean and big enough. Service from arrival to departure is simply commendable. Absolutely friendly and attentive. Location is also good, about 10 minutes walk into town. There was a good DJ there on New Year's Eve, something for every taste. Audience 60 plus. We are in our mid-50s and we really enjoyed it

The annual goose dinner, a dream! Nowhere in Giessen will you find a tastier goose.

We booked a “Romantic break with candlelight dinner” package. Rooms and food okay. Breakfast: good selection, seating a bit tight at peak times. Price performance ratio contemporary but nothing special. There was a candle on the table for the candlelight dinner. The waiter apparently didn't notice that it had already burned down during the main course. The beds are rather unromantic because the two mattresses constantly slide apart in the middle. Wellness area appealing, swimming pool is popular with families. There is no saving on towels.

Service great, breakfast top notch, pool & sauna very good. The room was poor, relatively old equipment, the bathroom was large but the shower had absolutely no pressure (with a small hand shower...). Cleanliness around the jacket hanger should definitely be checked again when cleaning the rooms.

The hotel has its own large parking lot, rooms spread over six floors, swimming pool and sauna available, staff very friendly and helpful, WiFi unfortunately doesn't work well at all, color improvements in the rooms are unfortunately visible and somewhat ruin the good impression. Quietly located in a residential area, about 15 minutes down the street from town.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time this weekend. We felt extremely comfortable again, which is also very much due to the staff. You have the feeling of being welcome. We had half board, the dinner was very tasty and the breakfast was also very good. The sheep's cheese (no feta) & the rolls from the bakery were very tasty. The hotel bar currently has a happy hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. - all drinks 50% off. There was a power socket on each side of the beds. The swimming pool is very nicely decorated. Negative: no XXL bathrobes available Very easy to reach for those arriving by train. Short walk about 8 minutes from the Berliner Platz stop. Even though Giessen has a lot worth seeing, it's worth a trip to Bad Nauheim (beautiful, quiet town in the footsteps of Elvis).

I love hotel rooms with bathtubs. There was one, only negative point here, no climate, it was very warm that day.

Average! The rooms without air conditioning are a bit old. The worst thing for me was that there was no air conditioning, which in my opinion is unacceptable in summer. If requested, a fan will be provided which helps moderately. The bar service wasn't very helpful for us, we had to ask several times if we could order something. The young gentleman was busy with his cell phone... Reception is polite and tries very hard. The breakfast is very extensive. All in all I had an average stay. The lack of air conditioning is very annoying.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend. Unfortunately, the high temperatures made it absolutely unbearable in the room as it got very hot and there was no air conditioning! Sleep was hard to think about. Unreasonable. Apparently we hadn't booked a room with air conditioning, which wasn't immediately apparent when booking. The employees apologized, but otherwise did not accommodate us. (Friends got parking fees back)

The hotel is very central. You can reach the important places in the city on foot. We only had breakfast and didn't take advantage of any other offers. The hotel was heavily booked and therefore the breakfast room was too narrow. The breakfast selection was extensive.

The staff did their best to meet our needs: we arrived too early, the room wasn't available yet and they suggested a conference room for us to change because we wanted to go to an event. Thank you for your understanding and options

Was there for a few days on business and had the opportunity to use both the restaurant and the wellness area. Both very fine! The breakfast was also great, the staff overall was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I wasn't able to test out was the bar during that time. The hotel has an easily accessible and large car park, which is subject to a charge. The rooms are very tidy and large.

I visited the hotel to take a picture in the lobby. The staff was super friendly and gave me permission without hesitation, great service!!

The room was very hot at arrival. But it was possible to cool down in the night with open windows. I prefer a spacious shower cubicle instead of a bathtub, but it was fine The breakfast was really good with a large selection. Lovely room with freshly ironed tablecloths on the tables. Very polite staff who served coffee and made sure everything was in order.

Most of the staff were very unfriendly, silent and unhelpful. The exception only applies to one person who tried to make our stay pleasant. Our booking was recorded incorrectly. We booked a double room for 2 people, but we got a single room. The check-in took at least 20 minutes, which had to be carried out independently despite the presence of staff. The room to which we were then rebooked after a long period of time at least had air conditioning, but it was totally outdated. There was also long black hair almost everywhere in the room.

My favorite hotel from my trip to Germany. It is a beautiful setting and close to everything. The staff is helpful and kind. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are lovely. The resturant is very good and the breakfast is worth the money.

Solid conference hotel, nothing to complain about.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Until now I only knew it as another high-rise building typical of Gießen, but the inside was very spacious, clean and tidy. The junior suite is a pleasant size and the bed and the fatboy in the room were very comfortable. I was also very impressed with the breakfast - both quantity and quality. Pigeons only seem to live on the balcony more often, as their droppings everywhere reveal - you could do with cleaning there more often.

We were in Steinsgarden again. As always, lobby, service staff competent in all areas, polite, courteous, Attentive. We would particularly like to highlight the work of Mr. Mokhbef..... He was responsible for us in the restaurant. Gladly again and again.

Nothing is right here in terms of price. The rooms are not tidy and full of defects. I would rate the evening buffet as poor and the ala menu dinner would be sufficient. The service is rated 6. When I checked in, no one could sell or get me a cola. In terms of price, the room is expensive and the service and food do not match the price. Always friendly staff, whether at reception or at the rich breakfast. I choose the hotel because of the electric charging station, now you have changed the conditions and it costs 0.70 cents per KW. Pretty intensive in terms of price.

Check-in takes a long time. The employee's skills are not good. As he reports, the man is only present twice a week. Should be reconsidered. Breakfast very good. It's a shame, the bar was unfortunately closed.

We're on site right now, a bit chaotic so far, the driveway lockers are open but the parking lot is empty. It was probably a mistake by the receptionist. Only one towel in the room. I wanted to book 2 breakfasts for Sunday, the children are fully booked but Saturday it would work, according to the reception. So call the children or reschedule it. Then to the reception and another lady says breakfast is fully booked on Saturday! Let's see what will come next. And I don't know that you're asked when you arrive if you don't want to have your room cleaned.

The staff is super friendly, unfortunately there is a small minus on Friday the bar is only open until 11.30 p.m. For this on Saturday nothing should be changed. We especially have to highlight the staff who worked in the restaurant, they were super friendly, especially on Friday evenings. Breakfast buffet was great.
