+ für mich/uns war es absolut sehr lecker + der Teig war genau richtig gebacken + das Steak Fleisch war zart und durch + super nette aufmerksame schnelle Bedienung - für uns zu viel, schade dass es keine 2 verschiedenen Größen gibt - der Sitzplatz war lädiert Fazit: ich/wir werden definitiv wiederkommen

Ich bin dort wegen der guten Bewertung und dem Holzofen spontan essen gegangen. Ich hatte die Pizza so in etwa erwartet, wie sie auf dem ersten Foto zu erkennen war (das leider 7 Jahre alt ist). Für meinen Geschmack fand ich die Pizza okay. Der Pizzaboden war sehr dünn, was ich prinzipiell mag, hier kam er mir etwas trocken/kompakt vor, ebenso war der Rand sehr dünn. Das mag an der Pizzateig-Presse liegen, mit welcher, der Teig eben geplättet wurde. Weiterhin fand ich den Belag ebenfalls okay, die Pizza war gut belegt. Der Preis war okay, der Service war freundlich und schnell. Ich würde es mit Sicherheit nochmal ausprobieren, würde aber diesmal keine Pizza mehr nehmen.

Ich war kürzlich wieder in diesem Restaurant und bin wirklich begeistert! Der neue Besitzer des Lokals hat uns überragend positiv beeindruckt. Die Speisen sind der Hammer sowie die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Ein bodenständiger Chef, der selbst mit anpackt – egal ob in der Küche oder im Service, das sieht man wirklich nicht überall! Großes Kompliment an den neuen Besitzer für diese tolle Arbeit! Wir komme definitiv öfter wieder und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Ein absolutes Highlight sind die glutenfreien Pizzen! 🍕 Als jemand, der darauf achten muss, ist es nicht selbstverständlich, so eine leckere glutenfreie Pizza zu bekommen. Der Teig war richtig gut und geschmacklich einfach top. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder und kann die Pizzeria nur weiterempfehlen! 👍

Ich selbst habe Nudeln gegessen, die sehr lecker waren. Einige anderen haben Pizza gegessen, diese waren teilweise etwas dunkel von unten. Wir haben für 10 Personen vorab reserviert, der Tisch war dafür etwas klein. Die Bedienungen waren freundlich.

Das Essen war mega lecker und die Bedienung sehr nett. Ich hatte aus Versehen einen falschen Salat bestellt, habe aber trotzdem kostenlos einen neuen bekommen das nenne ich echten Service! Die Location ist auch richtig schön. Klare 5-Sterne Empfehlung! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Waren dort um mal wieder Pizza zu futtern. Wir hatten nicht reserviert aber direkt einen Fensterplatz bekommen. Personal sehr freundlich und man kann beim backen zuschauen, da der Ofen im Restaurant ist. Die Pizzen waren sehr lecker. Hatte die Inferno. Die andere ist die Pollo.

Pizza schmeckt gut und auch ist groß. Bedienung: wir haben uns nicht wohl gefühlt. Wir waren allein im Restaurant und wollten 2 kleine Tische zusammenschieben, aber uns wurde es untersagt, wegen angeblicher Reservierung. Schließlich kam niemand.

Sehr leckere Pizza, und eine super hausgemachte Limonade.

Die Pizzeria Olive in Gießen ist absolut empfehlenswert, besonders für alle, die sich glutenfrei ernähren. Es gibt superleckere glutenfreie Pizza und auch glutenfreie Nudeln. Ich hatte die Pizza Toskana, die richtig gut geschmeckt hat. Den gebratenen Ziegenkäse fand meine Freundin sehr lecker, auch wenn ich selbst kein Fan davon bin. Preislich ist alles völlig in Ordnung und ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

We were here three days in a row for a business trip. Great every time! Whether it was pizza, pasta, or salad. If I were to eat anywhere, it would be here. Large outdoor area, but unfortunately a bit limited inside. There are also several (private) parking spaces.

Overall, the visit was very disappointing. The new waitress was clearly overwhelmed and unfamiliar with the procedures or basic service standards. We had to wait a very long time before anyone even came to our table, even though the manager was there and observed what was happening – without intervening or helping herself. We had to actively request service several times. We ordered a macaroni casserole, but we were served baked penne, which was unfortunately barely edible – the flavor was unpleasantly earthy. Only the homemade lemonades were worth mentioning. Overall, neither the service nor the quality of the food was up to scratch. The price-performance ratio was not justified. There are much better options in the area. It's not worth a visit.

Unfortunately, the pizza hadn't been in the oven for long enough, resulting in most of the onions still being raw. The salami also looked like it had been baked on top, which obviously had a massive impact on the flavor. You could tell from the ingredients that they seemed to have come from a discount store. All in all, unfortunately, the worst pizza in years. The staff didn't even wait for a response when asked if everything was okay and moved on.

Great food, very good value for money!!

We absolutely loved this small, family-run restaurant! As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed, the service was consistently friendly, attentive and quick - you can immediately tell that people work here with passion. The food was simply delicious! Freshly prepared, prepared with attention to detail and a real pleasure in terms of taste. We would particularly like to highlight the pizza, the rump steak “Amore” and the dish “Tuscany” – real highlights that absolutely convinced us! The portions were also generous - no one will be sent home hungry here. The price-performance is top and absolutely fair. It was a completely successful visit where everything was just right. We're already looking forward to the next time - this restaurant definitely deserves a permanent place on our favorites list!

Unfortunately I can't recommend this place, neither the pizza was really tasty (burnt calzone, other ingredients forgotten) nor was the staff friendly. At around 9:00 we were the last table with guests and the chairs around us were already being put up. We won't be coming back.

The new pizza dough from Abaas is really tasty and crispy. And Abaas tops the pizza really well: the ingredients are nicely distributed all over the pizza and there's a lot of cheese on it. Delicious for the palate and optics.

Super tasty pizzeria, we had bruscetta and pizzas. All world class, super nice owners who are happy to have a little chat with you. With a charcoal oven and you can practically watch the pizza maker's hands. It was incomprehensible to us that the restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime. Don't let that stop you!

We can only recommend this restaurant. The service is top...and the quality of the food is absolutely top class. I've never eaten meat in a restaurant that comes close to the quality here. It's indescribable. Everyone has to eat here at least once.

Best food in Giessen, especially Pizza Nona 😍

We went there for a spontaneous dinner. After eating there at the very beginning (about 3 years ago), I unfortunately have to say that the quality and taste have deteriorated. We ate pizza. Despite the great equipment, the dough either wasn't cooked through or the oven wasn't set well. I describe it as “pressed cardboard” that is rock hard at the bottom and not solid at the top. The taste of the salami and pepperoni sausage was unpleasant and seemed old. Ultimately, it really hit all three of us in the stomach. Despite the portafilter machine, the espresso had no crema and tasted watery. The service was fine. However, you should ask the pizza baker, who joined later, to wash his hands before starting work and not right away Take off your jacket and go to the pizza dough. That doesn't seem professional! It's a shame, but unfortunately there's no other option for us.

Was relatively tasty. Not necessarily the best pizza I've ever had but still delicious. Salad and starter were lovingly prepared. The service attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very very and loving. Everything clean and tidy... Until you reach the toilet cubicle. Then it gets disgusting. Thank you

Das Essen ist wirklich gut- egal was wir bisher gegessen haben, es war immer lecker, reichlich und preislich ok. Leider sind die Öffnungszeiten sehr Kundenunfreundlich. Unter der Woche schließt die Olive schon um 21 Uhr am Wochenende um 22 Uhr. Bereits eine halbe Stunde vorher wird man darauf aufmerksam gemacht, das das Lokal bald schließt. Ich kann das verstehen wenn wenig los ist aber auch ein vollbesetztes Lokal wird pünktlich geräumt. Aus diesem Grund werden wir nicht mehr kommen, da gemütliches Sitzen nicht möglich ist. Sehr schade!

The Olive was recommended to us by friends, so we planned to hold a small celebration there. First of all: you may have a better experience if you just eat a pizza there, but we were literally ripped off. At the beginning we met with the boss and negotiated a per-person price for a starter platter, a main course (pizza, pasta or salad) and a shared dessert. We were told we would receive our menu confirmation within a week. She didn't come. Also don't ask after 3 times. And from there the fun began. We were initially contacted and asked to pay a deposit of 500 euros in cash one month in advance. But they refused to give my wife a receipt for it. After half an hour of discussion, she received the receipt with the words "but don't submit it to the tax office!" We originally wanted to celebrate outside, the separate room in the restaurant was a little tight for the number of people we had. The restaurant told us the day before (we were there again in person) that it would rain tomorrow (in July) and that it would therefore be unreasonable if the staff had to walk to us through the rain and the food would also get wet. Given these weather prospects, we of course agreed and told our guests: Put on something thin, we'll celebrate inside, it'll be warm in the room with so many people. Well, when we all got there the next day in the pouring rain, we were - surprise - sitting outside in what felt like 15 degrees. The next surprise was: the pavilion was no longer rainproof and several chairs were soaking wet. (Hence a subtle loss of points in my rating for the ambience) We also found out why we were put in the leaky pavilion despite the pouring rain. There was a second company in the separate room apparently had quickly accepted it the evening before or the same day. And when wealth beckons - well, then it doesn't matter whether it's unreasonable that our food gets wet or we sit in the rain. And what happened next? Parts of the starter bruscetta were charred black (all over) - why would you put a completely banned bread on top and serve it to the guests instead of making a new one? After the complaint, neither a new bruscetta nor a replacement plate came for the person who got the black bread so that she could take something else from the leftovers on the plate. The waitress responded to requests several times bluntly: "Peppermint tea? There's no such thing!" (we were constantly trying to settle arguments). The children's food came over half an hour after the adults' food and there were a bunch of other little things (things were forgotten, the onion-free pizza had onions on it, I don't have enough space to list everything here.) And the hit: the agreed dessert never came. When we asked, we were told "It's not on the menu, we would never have agreed". Well, the appetizer platter wasn't on the "menu" they put on our table either. And despite repeated requests, we never received the promised card by email, but only found it on the tables at the celebration, so how could we have checked or clarified that beforehand? In short: we were thoroughly ripped off here and the 8 families who were there that day will never come back. I hope the quick mark (or the four-figure amount we had to leave behind for the appetizers, pizzas and 2 drinks per person) was worth it. And as for trying to get 500 euros from us in cash without wanting to issue a receipt - I don't know what to think about that. A rogue who thinks evil things.

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Pizza vegan, glutenfrei und "normal". Unser Geburtstagskind bekam noch ein köstliches Tiramisu mit einem Happy Birthday Ständchen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich und freundlich behandelt und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Location and food were very good. The only thing I either overlooked or it wasn't clearly described is that card payments are only possible from 25 euros. I ate a stone oven pizza which was very tasty.

Very nice and cozy atmosphere in the beer garden. Despite the location on Licher Straße, you could sit there and relax. Before, we always ordered food and picked it up. Everything was always good - from the pasta to the tomato soup to the pizzas from the stone oven. The prices are reasonable.

Spent a disastrous birthday with 10 people registered. It's a shame about the long journey from Nidda. Watery spritz drinks, hours of waiting, half of them forgotten, the other half not worth the high price. The young man was very friendly but overwhelmed, and unfortunately the two older women couldn't get anything done despite there being only around 25 other guests outside. The recommended pizza with figs had almost no toppings other than plenty of ruccola and was as hard as a biscuit and the three wafer-thin fig slices “the pizza fig” didn’t make it any better. Conclusion: The first and the last time.

Terrible. At first they didn't respond to my comment that the salami was rancid, then we were no longer served half an hour before the end because the staff was eating and at the end we paid 1 euro for the take-away box. It would only be fair to customers to at least point out that the box costs money. I am at a loss for words.

The two of us were hungry after an appointment. There was an excellent selection of pizzas and a parking space, so it was perfect for a leisurely meal. We were late, but our order was taken happily and friendly and prepared quickly. The pizza (Tuscany) was extremely tasty and the ingredients were obviously fresh. The dough is sprinkled with a special corn flour on the bottom and top, which gives the dough a wonderful character. I would eat here again at any time.

A former fellow student once told me that he met Volker Bouffier here during his visit. The former Prime Minister of Hesse was not present during my visit. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the Inferno pizza. I also enjoyed the red wine that went with it - the name of which I unfortunately forgot.

Very friendly service from the employed staff, but the (presumably) boss/manager came across as rather brisk. Starter very good, the pizza is freshly made from the stone oven but is more like a tarte flambée. Dessert average.

The three of us went to this well-rated pizzeria for the first time. Both of our pasta dishes were really not good, the pizza was fine. A pizza bread (= pizza dough with spices) costs an impressive €7.90. The service was OK, but we weren't asked if it wasn't tasty, as one pasta dish was almost completely gone, the other half. We won't go there anymore.

I went to Olive with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day and we were both just amazed afterwards. Starting with the incredibly warm welcome from the waiter/manager, we immediately plunged into the meal in a positive mood. The bruscetta was the best bruscetta we ever ate. We continued with the pizzas and we both felt like we were in Rome and eating with real Italians. The tiramisu was the cherry on top and was excellent. All in all, a really nice evening and a lovely Valentine’s Day. Simply recommended 👍

I remembered the olive well. That's why we went again on Valentine's Day, unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. The menu is great and easy to read, the dishes all sound very tasty. We chose classic bruschetta as a starter. Thought it was delicious, unfortunately there were too many onions on it. It was more like bruschetta with onions and a few tomato pieces. We didn't like it. We went there for the pizza. The pizza has great toppings and is a good size. The dough is more like puff pastry so it is very thin but crispy. Similar to tarte flambée. We weren't convinced. The service is ok. The starter (bruschetta) went to the wrong table and the pizza came during the starter...somehow it doesn't fit. It can be a really nice restaurant, with a very good menu and good food, but this time we weren't convinced.

Very tight, good for counting the pores of strangers. When it comes to billing, guests are often made to wait, even when they pick up the food, even though the food is ready...

Bad food, I don't want to go into detail, it would go beyond the scope if you think about the price quoted, which is actually a shame. Service/operation was ok. Were after 40 minutes. During our stay (starters, main courses and drinks) we were rudely asked to leave even though we had reserved for 1.5 hours and were only allowed to finish our drinks. Sales must be made here by any means possible. Overall experience a disaster, rarely and not been so disappointed in a long time. Thank you Olive for making Valentine's Day so sweet for us.

I had dinner with my friends today (December 28th). I have to say that the atmosphere is very cozy and you immediately feel at home. The food was great, we ordered 3 pizzas. The pizzas absolutely live up to the stories. In fact, you can eat the best pizza in Giessen here! The lady who served us was very friendly and accommodating. Always my pleasure!

Very unfriendly service. Pizza was just okay. The card reader was broken and the restaurant was not willing to pay by bill, so you should just go to the Volksbank. Overall it was too expensive for the experience, felt more like a takeaway. Inappropriate for the price and not recommended.

My friends and I visited Germany for the first time and stumbled upon this beautiful pizza spot in Giessen. Staff were friendly and very attentive! Prices were fair and reflect the quality of ingredients they use in their dishes. The star dish for me was the Spaghetti Pesto and the Pizza Amore. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re itching for Italian style cuisine in Germany. Worth the drive!

It's unclear to me how this restaurant got so many good reviews. I think things can't be right here. The interior seems thrown together, between action decoration and scooter furniture it's rather mediocre. The food is very expensive for the quality and yet still rather mediocre. It's a mystery to me how anyone could even manage to make such a bad pizza with a charcoal oven. This must be due to extremely inferior ingredients. The staff doesn't seem to have any gastronomic experience, because such unfriendly treatment is disproportionate even for Giessen standards. Instruction on how to deal with customers, serve food and appear friendly seems appropriate here. After eating we were informed that the card reader was broken. I've read that here many times, it might seem like a tax saving model ;) All in all, a really horrible experience that is not recommended for anyone who wants to have a nice evening.

Kleines nettes italienisches Lokal mit großer Auswahl an Pasta, Pizza und Deserts. Direkt im Lokal integrierter Pizzaofen, die Zubereitung der Pizzen kann man direkt verfolgen 👍

Habe ein Nudelgericht zum Mitnehmen bestellt, das in 10 Minuten fertig war. Die Portion war für 17 Euro einfach zu klein, deshalb der Stern Abzug. Es hat aber absolut grandios geschmeckt!!

Sehr lecker 😋, wir kommen wieder. Ich bin sehr kritisch mit Salaten, aber dieser war sehr lecker und bestand nicht nur aus Eisbergsalat, sehr vielfältig. Auch die Steinofen Pizza war sehr gut 👍🏽.
