Perfect service! Great food, what more could you want...

I give this six out of five stars. The pasta was heavenly and the pistachio tiramisu divine. I haven't had such good Italian food in a long time!

Wir waren am Samstag Nachmittag vor 16 Uhr bei Gianolli und obwohl 80% der Tische leer waren, wurden wir wegen “Reservierungen” am letzten Ende (Richtung News Café) alleine mit 5 Personen platziert. Nach dem Zahlen gegen 17:30 Uhr waren die Tische immer noch frei. Nicht in Ordnung ! Haben für unseren Sohn (5 Jahre alt) ausdrücklich nach Pinsa mit normalem Mozzarrellakäse und ausdrücklich nicht um Büffelmozzarrella gebeten. Wurde aber nicht berücksichtigt. Nicht in Ordnung ! Wir wurden mit der Aussage vertröstet, dass es nur Büffelmozzarrella oder Parmesan gäbe. Das war’s. Erzähle das deinem hungrigem Kind nach der langen Wartezeit ! Haben wegen der längeren Wartezeit nach Brot für unseren Sohn gebeten. Bekommen haben wir dann gleichzeitig mit der Essenslieferung einen riesigen Brotkorb mit scheinbar recyceltem, teilweise trockenem Brot. Die Dreistigkeit war, dass wir hierfür € 5 berechnet bekommen haben. Gegessen haben wir davon tatsächlich nichts. Das Essen war ja jetzt endlich da. Das ist dreist ! Das wir dafür gezahlt haben wurde uns leider erst zuhause klar. Ich hätte sicherlich nicht zugestimmt. Egal. Die extrem kleine Auswahl auf der Karte zeigt keine grosse Motivation Kunden von der italienischen Küche zu begeistern. Haken darunter. Gianolli wird bei uns nicht mehr auf der Auswahl stehen !

Reservation via website uncomplicated and easy.. We were greeted in a friendly manner and shown straight to the table after checking our reservation. The card was available via QR code on the cell phone, which is becoming more and more common, I think that's completely fine, which I found particularly great, and because it sometimes annoys me with others that they don't do it and that the guest WiFi was offered directly. .great! It was almost like Italy, where it's a given that Wi-Fi can be used... in Germany, unfortunately, there's always a lack of it in the restaurants... in the Gianoli they think along with it! We ordered Spritzz variants, since I'm not from Gießen, I can't really judge that.. but 8€ or more is a lot.. but they tasted good.. Service was really top, the young man was very attentive, friendly and accommodating... also had the right Italian touch, we felt very comfortable. We had pasta burrata, cacio e pepe and fregola sarda with fish.. an excellent selection or a great offer.. The terrace was full, it was well attended... but the meal didn't take long... and every plate was delicious without exception... the chef knows his craft and has the right passion for the details... Even though the Cacio e Pepe was technically a Pasta Gricia... it was actually prepared almost perfectly. For 3x pasta, 3x Spritzz and 1x espresso I paid €90, €9 was a tip. If I come to Giessen again, I'll definitely stop by again

The food itself was okay. I had a pinsa and my companion had a pasta dish. After we ordered our dishes, the cutlery was simply thrown (slammed) onto the table without placing the cutlery “gently” in the designated place. We then took over this. For drinks we each had 2 rose wines that tasted bitter and strong and were of the cheapest quality. The service was impersonal and unfriendly. After the meal we weren't even asked if everything had been okay or if we had anything else we wanted. Before the owner posts that we are lying here and that we were not in the location, I have to say that there are several “witnesses” to this. Furthermore, I (the author) myself have Sicilian roots and know what Italian hospitality means. But Sicily is not Calabria either. 🤷🏽‍♂️ We didn't feel comfortable here even though the food, apart from the wine, was ok. We give the 2 stars for the food and drinks (food 3 stars minus 1 star for the drinks). We give the ambience 1 star and we wouldn't actually want to give a star for the impersonal and unfriendly service, which is not possible here and therefore 1 star. Food 2 stars + service 0 stars + ambience 1 star = 3 stars Overall rating: 4 stars: 3 criteria = 1 star We won't be visiting this location again. I read from an answer to a review a few months ago that you value treating your guests with respect. But you don't seem to know what respectful and empathetic interaction means. Empathic: Empathic means being able to empathize with and understand other people's feelings and feelings. It is a positive character trait that is often associated with empathy and sensitivity. Being empathetic means being able to listen carefully, take time for other people and understand their perspective. It is an important quality in interpersonal relationships, both personal and professional, as it can contribute to a better understanding and a deeper relationship between people.

My sister and brother, I, ate a starter of cheeses and tartare (really) chopped with a knife, cheese and pepper with CHEESE (real), sliced ​​and sweet. Truly top quality ingredients and well served. Everything in its place and seasoned, if necessary, in its own right. TRUE ITALIAN ABROAD. Great experience across the board. The only thing to remember is to ask for the meat rare if you like it that way because otherwise it will arrive medium/well done by default. I will definitely come back every chance I get. Completely satisfied!

Second star for ambience. The service was poor; our order was forgotten and we waited 45 minutes for the starter despite several reminders. The pinsa was dry and the burrata was just mozzarella. Very disappointing.

Very tasty food... but unfortunately there is no non-alcoholic beer, what a shame!

There is the option to filter the online menu according to preferences or allergies. That didn't work, but the way the service staff dealt with allergies was phenomenally exemplary and, verbally speaking, worked out great! I didn't really get 5 stars from my meal, but I probably made the wrong choice in terms of taste.

Unfortunately very disappointed. We had the Pasta Beef which was supposed to be with roast beef, but it was clearly pork. After asking the waiter, they kept saying that it was supposed to be veal, which obviously wasn't the case. So my Muslim wife ate this dish with fear. Also, the noodles weren't cooked through. After we reported this we were told that they would cook the noodles through this time. But when we had our food again, it was still as hard as before. There probably won't be a second visit.

A uniquely bad experience. Yesterday at 5:00 p.m. we wanted to eat something in this restaurant. 80% of the tables outside were free. We sat down at a table for two and were told from a distance in an extremely unfriendly and loud manner by someone in charge that all tables were reserved. When asked, the answer was “from 6:15 p.m.”. We asked if that hour wouldn't be enough. This was grudgingly answered in the affirmative. Incomprehensible!! There is no such thing as customer friendliness. We ordered anyway. The next disaster. Pasta far from al dente, rather undercooked. Completely oversalted dish. Chanterelles mushy. The best thing at the end: by the time we had paid (which took easily 20 minutes with three requests) it was 6:45 p.m. There were no other guests at the supposedly reserved tables!!!!!! Incredible!! We will definitely not visit this restaurant again.

At first we had a varied antipasto that was very good. As the main dish, they gave us sirloin and tuna, the truth is that both were delicious, I wouldn't know which one to choose because they were so good. For dessert, tiramisu and panacota. The tiramisu was good, but the panna cotta was horrible. The atmosphere was a bit noisy.

Unfortunately we have to say that our visit to the Gianoli restaurant in Giessen was a disappointing experience. Although the food was okay, the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress seemed uncaring from the start and had bad facial expressions. After ordering, the starter came relatively quickly, but we had to wait an eternity for the wine we ordered. Only after several questions from another waitress, who told us that she was not responsible, did the wine finally arrive after another 15 minutes - without any apology and with a careless presentation. When I later ordered another beer (bottled beer), the same scenario repeated itself. I had to wait again for a long time and ask again while the waitress stood at the door typing on her cell phone. Particularly annoying was the possible manager of the restaurant, who spent most of the time on his iPad and didn't care about the service. Instead, he preferred to joke around with a group, even when we tried to get his attention. All of these negative experiences meant that at some point we were just annoyed, even though the food was actually quite good. However, the poor service severely marred our visit and left us disappointed. Price of the food was also very high.

Without comment - I'm just a fan of gianoli 😘

Da wanderten wir eines Montagsabends den deprimierend ausgestorbenen Seltersweg lang und bogen als letzte Chance in die Plockstraße ab. Und fanden Gianoli! Eine umwerfend gutgelaunte Bedienung, schöne einladende Atmosphäre. Eigentlich waren wir ja nur für ein paar Bier da, landeten aber schnell auch beim Wein, der mit viel Kompetenz empfohlen wurde und fingen dann auch noch an, das Essen durchzuprobieren. Das war erstaunlich gut und einfallsreich. Daher: Danke an das Team für einen geretteten Abend. Wenn ich regelmäßig in Gießen wäre, würde man mich da öfter sehen :)

We had lunch with a larger group, the pinsa and pasta dishes were very tasty, fresh bread and olive oil were served at the front. The service was very friendly and we all felt very comfortable.

We were very disappointed with the restaurant. We ordered 4 different pasta, the pasta was undercooked, which significantly affected the enjoyment. Additionally, I was disappointed that only one type of pasta was used, resulting in a monotonous taste. The waitress told us just because it's easy for the kitchen. Unfortunately, the pictures of the dishes on the menu didn't correspond to reality, which led to false expectations. Overall, the food was disappointing and not recommended.

I had the asparagus pasta and it was really delicious. I will come back to eat it again next time.

The employee's antipathy was the most striking aspect of the entire dinner. I was charged €17.80 when the total would have been €12 and a bit. Ridiculous situation, please future customers beware of this situation, it could be a scam. The waitress was rude throughout the evening and didn't give us a receipt for the entire meal (we now know exactly why). I don't recommend it at all.

The very best fresh pasta with extraordinary sugo combinations, also vegetarian. We recommend!

Delicious pasta, not everything is really 100% original Italian, but unusual pasta creations and “classics” are also very tasty. Service friendly, quick and competent. Nevertheless, it would be great if variations such as Panzerotti or Arancini were included in the program.🤩 By the way, the alternative to aperol spritz is highly recommended! :-)

So let's be honest, excellent food, the seating is very nice, but what trumps everything is the incredibly friendly service. I think her name is Alisha. Really. This woman truly made our visit to Gianoli a celebration, indeed a festival of joy and well-being. Always a smile on your lips, fantastic and competent support throughout the evening. What more do you want?! Sign this shop over to the lady or at least make her employee of the year - oh what am I saying - of the decade!

Very nice visit here at Gianoli. My husband and I enjoyed the food very much and had the perfect proportion, at least for me. But my consistently positive image is primarily characterized by one thing: Alisa (or Alisha), the waitress. I have never experienced such good support (professionally AND personally) and never even dared to dream. She is the face of our inner sunshine, which we were able to convey to the outside world for weeks after and through our visit.

One word: Alisha! The waitress. She is highly professional and totally friendly. Really a real win for the business. Visit was good otherwise.

We are so happy to have discovered this great restaurant! I haven't eaten such delicious pasta in a long time. You can taste the love in every single dish, the atmosphere is very pleasant and you have the feeling that you can take a real break. The best thing: All pasta dishes are also available as gluten-free versions. It tastes incredibly good and I think it is also freshly prepared in-house. All in all, Gianoli is our new favorite Italian restaurant because everyone can find something here and it tastes so incredibly good.

We were on vacation at home after emigrating 7 years ago and met up with a former school colleague here. We sat outside and ordered ALL the drinks and I got some ice cream from the hall next door. Was sent away because the ice cream was from the competition. So the unfortunately short and rare meeting was a little ruined. I can understand it if we hadn't ordered anything, but like that? Seems to have enough regular customers that small individual customers like us aren't important, even when there's nothing going on (there were only two other tables occupied). Very disappointed with the lack of hospitality.

We ate there on recommendation and it was excellent. We had Pinsa and it was the best pizza I've ever eaten before, with wild herb salad and goat cheese, great.

I had the cabonara traditionale, which was very tasty. The only thing I would note is that I would always add a little of the pasta cooking water so that it doesn't become "lumpy" so quickly and, above all, it is very powerful and very filling. It gets easier - I learned from an Italian. It was still very tasty, even if I didn't make it. I will gladly come again...

Great food... Reservations are essential!

Food was good. But what actually bothers me is that the noodles are not homemade. Homemade and homemade. A huge difference. I didn't really know that until then. It always sounds so high quality. But well, my ignorance... the harsh tone of the same employee hasn't changed for years. I don't know how many people have already massively criticized this here. “That will never change” was a statement from the service staff. They then just leave and work somewhere else. A pity. It seems to be what the boss wanted or he can't get his way. Both bad...

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and we were amazed by the quality of the food. The pasta was particularly delicious, and the desserts were simply amazing! Unfortunately, we have to say that the service left a lot to be desired. Even though we had reserved a table and asked for the best seat to be reserved for us, the waitress was unfriendly and refused to seat us in the nice area, supposedly because it was already reserved. Most of the restaurant was almost empty and it was already late. The waitress was unhappy all evening and seemed to view serving us as a chore. Because of this experience we couldn't relax and enjoy the evening.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time!

I've been there twice, in a large group and with a friend. When making a reservation you can receive a confirmation and a reminder by email. I find it very practical. Last time I walked into an almost empty restaurant and walked out of a very crowded room with a scratchy throat. It got crowded and loud relatively quickly, so when you speak you become louder and louder. Nevertheless, no points are deducted because I found both evenings very nice and we all felt comfortable. There isn't that much distance between the two tables, which is something you should know if you're looking for togetherness and peace - and no random listeners. The service was very polite, very attentive and not at all intrusive, which is extremely pleasant. Last but not least: the pasta was very tasty! Gladly again.

Always happy to go to Gianoli because: delicious food, very good wines and a friendly and competent team. They can do gastronomy!

Hello Gianoli, First of all, I have known the restaurant for years and always enjoy going there. I am a pasta fan and this craft is understood very well here! I'm really happy to see how great the store is still doing. However, I will limit my visits because the price level has exceeded a limit for me personally. I know everything is getting more expensive and I really hope that it's not just anonymous chains that will survive. With that in mind, keep it up.

In this charming Italian restaurant I found a pleasant mix of simple elegance and delicious pasta dishes. The pasta was excellently prepared, perfectly al dente and accompanied by appealing sauces. The service was friendly and unobtrusive, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant offers a solid selection of dishes that impress with their quality and taste. Best Italian in the area, homemade pasta with incredibly creative dishes and excellent wines!

Four of us had dinner this evening. As a starter there was the antipasti plate, which was delicious, but unfortunately a little smaller than expected for four people. I had Pasta Amelie, which was homemade pasta with tomato sauce, vegetables and stracciatella (cheese). These were very tasty, the noodles were undercooked but it fit perfectly. My friend had the tuna steak and I have to say, the steak was super fried, raw on the inside and super crispy on the outside, the parsnip and potato fried with the herb and vinegar "dressing" and the slightly garlicky vegetables were super tasty. The service was good, although unfortunately there were a few mistakes, but given how busy it was, that's understandable. The ambience itself was fine, it's a bit cramped and loud. But still nice decoration (the can lamps are super cool) and the atmosphere is definitely right, so we will definitely come back.

Zunächst einmal: Das Essen im Gianoli ist ein Traum, gerne komme ich immer wieder öfter zur Mittagszeit vorbei. Auch muss ich in meiner Bewertung den ausgezeichneten Service der Mädels hervorheben, stets fühle ich mich sehr freundlich bedient und man merkt, dass diese immer um die Kundenwünsche bemüht sind, was einen Besuch im Gianoli für mich und meine Familie immer zu etwas besonderem macht! Jedoch erlebe ich in letzter Zeit immer wieder, wie schlecht mit dem Personal umgegangen wird. Ein gewisser Herr, der meist zur Mittagszeit da ist und scheinbar das Sagen hat, spricht in einem sehr hochnäsigen Ton mit seinen Mitarbeitern und auch habe ich erlebt, dass Kellnerinnen teilweise willkürlich angefahren werden, für Kleinigkeiten. Es ist immer sehr unangenehm, dies zu beobachten, vor allem, weil wie bereits oben erwähnt, die Mädels (und Jungs) einen super Job machen. Es tut mir wirklich Leid für die jungen Studenten, die vielleicht auf diesen Job angewiesen sind, dass sie sich diese Behandlung antun müssen. Ich hoffe, dass sich in Zukunft etwas ändert, denn ich esse ansonsten sehr gerne im Gianoli...

Schöner Italiener, der mich noch nie enttäuscht hat, wenn ich in Gießen war. Einzig die Weinpreise sind bisschen hoch gegriffen…

Würde gerne jeden Tag bei euch essen, aber mein Mann besteht darauf, regelmäßig selbst zu kochen.

Essen war italienisch und hat gut geschmeckt. Der Wein war mir zu flach für den aufgerufenen Preis. Freundliche etwas unbeteiligte Bedienungen, leider bis zu 4 verschiedene an 1 Tisch. Der Chef kommt etwas ruppig rüber. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und originell.

Wir waren schon öfter hier zu besonderen Anlässen hier essen, da sowohl das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit ist als auch das Essen einfach nur mega überzeugt. Die hausgemachte Pasta ist für uns die Beste, die wir bisher irgendwo in Deutschland gegessen haben. Wirklich nur zu empfehlen!

Sehr laut. Speisekarte nur per QR. Auf Nachfrage standen 3 Karten zur Verfügung. ( wir waren 6 Personen). Esen sehr gut, Portion hätte etwas größer sein können. Nur eine biersorte aus Italien vorhanden, leider mit Flaschen auf den Tisch , geschmacklich nicht ganz so besonders. Auch nicht sehr nachhaltig. Es wurden ständig tschernobyl verschoben um noch etwas mehr Leute in den einen Raum zu bekommen, teilweise auch während die Leute gegessen haben.

Wir kommen immer gerne wegen des Weines. Das Essen ist ein schönes und sehr leckeres Beiwerk. Wir freuen uns immer und genießen die schöne Zeit. Es handelt sich jedoch um ein hochpreisiges Restaurant.

Pasta und Getränk in Ordnung, aber auch nicht gerade günstig. Der Zahlkellner verteilte seine Freundlichkeit recht selektiv auf die Gäste.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das Essen kam schnell. Das Essen (Pinsa) war sehr lecker! Außerdem lässt es sich mit den Wärmelampen auch draußen angenehm sitzen.

Mega leckere Pasta, die Lage ist zentral und gleichzeitig abends ruhig, italienischer Flair und nette Bedienungen! Besonders gut gefallen hat mir die kleine Lampe auf dem Tisch, bei der man durch Berührung die Farbe ändern konnte, um dem Personal zu signalisieren, dass man bestellen oder bezahlen möchte.

Leckeres Essen mit sehr leckeren Wein! Man kann wunderbar draußen sitzen und einen schönen Abend genießen. Innen ist die Geräuschkulisse etwas laut, da gestaltet es sich eher schwierig sich zu unterhalten. Trotzdem: sehr empfehlenswert!

Ich fand’s nicht so überragend. Die Bedienung sprach im Kommandoton, der Bolognese fehlte der Kick. Wenn das Restaurant voll ist, muss man sich anschreien, da kaum Schallschutzplatten eingebaut sind. In Summe „geht so“.

Soooo lecker, super nette Bedienung und auch draußen im Regen unter dem Schirm toll... 👍☔️ Auch wenn die online Reservierung (Seite hat sich schlecht aufgebaut) uns fast den Besuch vermasselt hätte, sind wir froh uns außen unter dem Schirm mit Heizstrahler gesetzt zu haben, denn ansonsten hätten wir das sehr leckere Essen und die nette Bedienung verpasst ... 😇 Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Essen, die Bedienungen: alles supi, aber ich kann mich nur der letzten Bewertung anschließen. Der Herr am Empfang ist sehr laut und nicht sehr freundlich gegenüber dem Personal, obwohl alle top gelaunt zu sein schienen. Sie waren flott, aufmerksam mit allem -auch mit neuen Gästen- und trotzdem hat der Chef immer lautstark mitgemischt und wild gestikuliert. Da wollte ich nicht beschäftigt sein. Chapeau für die Mitarbeiter 🙏🏻
