Ristorante Adria in Gießen

Even though I don't go there that often, the staff (Ekrem and Oktavio) know where I like to sit and what my favorite dish is. That's what I call attention and that's why I feel very comfortable in the Adriatic. Price performance is absolutely justified. My favorite is the Pizza Toscana with extra garlic and the wine is the Primitivo.

We have been visiting this Italian restaurant for at least 25 years now - and have never been disappointed. It's always a nice little break for us at lunchtime when we're in Giessen. The food is always fresh, tasty and served quickly. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the entire team is always polite, attentive and cheerful. The cleanliness of the restaurant also deserves praise. Here you can feel real hospitality and consistency - we always like to come back!

Ordered today and unfortunately we were disappointed with the gluten-free pizza. From our point of view, you can make the dough yourself for a pizza for just under 15 euros. Unfortunately, pre-ordering via Lieferando didn't help either, as the pizza was only made when we entered the store. Since the pizza still tasted good with 3 stars and a 2nd chance, improvement is possible.

Delicious pizza with very good ingredients that justify the extra price, but the stone pizza has no real taste of its own. There is no salt or herbs. The base is also sometimes very crispy, but that may be a matter of taste. You have to plan for the soft drinks at around 3.90 euros and a pizza at 15 euros. The noodles are also something different. Gnocchi are ok, but not a special taste experience either. Very small portion for 17.90 euros. Ambience of a typical Italian restaurant. Staff ok.

Ordered 3 gluten free pizzas, all charred, inedible and very small. For just under 55 euros, that's pretty cheeky. We definitely cannot recommend gluten-free pizza.

We reserved a table for 7 p.m. and were seated on time. The order was placed about 10 minutes after we arrived and the drinks were served quickly - which was a good start. Unfortunately, the food took a long time to arrive, almost 2 hours, which dragged out the evening unnecessarily. The starter was tasty, but there were clear deficiencies in the main courses. My schnitzel with hunter's sauce was only lukewarm when served, and the hunter's sauce wasn't very exciting. My girlfriend had a pizza parma, which unfortunately wasn't convincing. The dough was unusually thick, and the parmesan, which should actually be the focus of a pizza like this, was hardly there. Service overall was fine, but given the long wait, we would have liked at least an apology or a little more attention. All in all, the evening was unfortunately not what we had hoped for.

Was there with my girlfriend last week, service was very good, and above all very attentive (label of glass and drink aimed at guest, lady served first, etc.) The food (starter mushrooms, pizza and casserole, tiramisu) was very tasty, well prepared and came out of the kitchen at a good pace. In itself it is a nice restaurant with very nice service, but I was unlucky with my food. I had a fish platter, when it came, not everything was on the plate as described on the menu and instead of telling me, they just put a few more squid on it. But at least I got dessert on the house for the missing fish. The best thing was when I had plastic on my plate and the chef told me it was the spines of the squid 😂 I didn't even know that an octopus had a spine. Honestly, I already know what plastic looks like. Therefore only 3 stars

We actually ended up there by chance because we didn't want to eat at the hotel. But we were very positively surprised. The salad was crisp and fresh and we haven't eaten such delicious pizza in a long time. Super thin, crispy dough and well-balanced, fresh ingredients as a topping. Attentive service. At the next table, guests ate fresh mussels, which were so delicious that they ordered a second portion. The ambience doesn't blow you away, but it's solid. Price-performance is right.

Leute, ganz ehrlich? Das hat nicht gepasst. Service top, sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, auf zack - Gegenteil leider beim Essen. Preis-Leistung stimmt hier leider gar nicht. Wir hatten eine Pizza und zwei Spezial Nudelgerichte. Zu dritt sind wir mit nur einem zus. Softgetränk, drei Bier und zwei Vorspeisen mit 100€ inkl. Trinkgeld raus. Was hat nicht gestimmt? Zur Pizza kann ich hier nichts sagen, aber mein Nudelgericht ging gar nicht. Geschmacklich echt mies, man fragt sich so: was kostet hieran knappe 18€?? Bitte schraubt da in der Küche mal nach. Das passt so nicht. Buratta ok, aber so schmeckt er auch vom LIDL / ALDI. Sry - das könnt ihr besser!

The three of us went there for dinner yesterday. The food was good, but I'm still disappointed. We were offered various asparagus dishes, which we chose. Personally, I found 3 sticks of asparagus to be extremely lean, especially since a small portion of asparagus was also offered. I was expecting 4-5 rods. The service was very courteous and friendly. p.s Just read that there is always a schnapps after dinner. This is completely NEW to me We have never been offered a nightcap. Maybe this is only available for certain guests? Edit: After another visit, the food tastes really good, the nice waitress recognized me/us and we were able to sort everything out 👍🏼 We enjoyed our nightcap ☺️ Thank you, see you next time. My mom and I are currently in Giessen. We were at Ristorante Adria 2 days ago. We were totally thrilled, great ambience, super nice staff and the food was absolutely amazing. Exactly my taste. I would even give 10 points for everything. We'll be back tomorrow :)

Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing pizza I have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. Even in a kebab shop you can get better pizza. The dough was dry, the topping was poor quality and the dry herbs made things worse. Very disappointing.

Very tasty food, the pizza is Neapolitan and really homemade, the salads were fresh, the bruschetta was also very tasty. Only the fried sheep's cheese was a little colder when it was served. The service was quick, attentive and very friendly.

Good from the outside Pizza type "world's worst". Karlsson from the roof can do better. Dough thin on the inside, edge like a donut. The topping for seafood pizza was T Omato soup with fat and unfathomable something. Some kind of cheese and whole cherry tomatoes. Flabby substance. Uncut despite requests to do so. The waiter stood as a chimney in the door and smoked the place with the scent of fresh, cold cigarettes. The “good” reviews are incomprehensible.

One star deducted for the food because our daughter was looking forward to a schnitzel with fries, but it ended up being potato wedges. But we also enjoyed them as adults. Friendly and courteous staff.

Das Essen wurde schnell serviert und war schmackhaft. Für drei Personen waren die Portionen zu groß und der Wunsch zur Mitnahme wurde geäußert, was für den Kellner kein Problem darstellte. Anschließend wurden 3 Essenspäckchen aufeinander gelegt auf unseren Tisch gestellt. Man konnte nun raten, wer welches Essen vorher auf dem Teller hatte…, sowas geht gar nicht!!

Went there for dinner last night. The dishes we ordered were really good so there's nothing to complain about. We asked for the dessert menu, but it wasn't brought to us because it had probably been forgotten. In the meantime, we decided not to have any more dessert. The nice young waitress noticed her omission at some point and brought it to us again Menu. We then made it clear that we had changed our minds, she wanted to apologize with a schnapps on the house, which we were happy to accept. Before we got it, the boss came to our table and, in my opinion, risked a pretty big lip! !!!She pointedly made it clear that there was no dessert menu at all. The schnapps came rather reluctantly. I don't think that's how you can deal with the guests, especially as a boss. There are many good restaurants where the guests are still appreciated we will also go there in the future

Ein kulinarisches Highlight für durstige Seelen – Danke, Adria! In der charmanten Stadt Gießen entdeckten wir, sechs durstige Jungs der Gruppe "Never-Ending Train Volume 8", das Juwel namens Restaurant Adria. Unsere Suche nach einem Mittagessen endete hier, nachdem uns ein unerwarteter Zwischenfall beim „Enzo“ erneut auf volle Fahrt brachte. Gegen 14:30 Uhr, trotz der nahenden Schließzeit um 15:00 Uhr, öffnete das Adria seine Türen mit einer Herzlichkeit, die in der heutigen Gastronomie selten zu finden ist. Die Bestellung wurde prompt aufgenommen und das Essen erreichte uns in Rekordzeit. Jeder Bissen war ein Fest für die Sinne, und selbst unser hungrigster Gefährte, Freilich, genoss sein Gericht bis zum letzten Happen – und das bis weit nach der offiziellen Schließzeit. Als wäre das nicht genug der Gastfreundschaft, gestattete uns das Adria, den Aufenthalt bis 15:30 Uhr auszudehnen, um noch einmal "austreten" zu können. Trotz zahlreicher Unannehmlichkeiten, die wir möglicherweise verursachten, begegnete man uns mit nichts als Freundlichkeit und Verständnis. In einem Akt der Großzügigkeit bot man uns sogar noch eine flüssige Stärkung für unsere Weiterreise an. Im Namen unseres Vorstands Rainer und unserer gesamten Gruppe möchten wir uns beim Adria für ihren außergewöhnlichen Service und die unvergleichliche Gastfreundschaft bedanken. Wir wünschen diesem wunderbaren Ort nur das Beste für die Zukunft. Möge das Adria weiterhin Herzen und Mägen seiner Gäste mit Freude und leckerem Essen füllen! #noexcuses

Wir waren zum Abendessen vor Ort. Die Locarion war halb gefüllt und wir waren doch froh eine Reservierung vorliegen zu haben. Trotz größerer Gruppe ist die Servicekraft wegen Aushändigung der Speise/Getränkekarte sehr schnell an unsrem Tisch gekommen. Wir hatten uns für eine gemeinsame Vorspeise "Gamberi della Casa" (Black Tiger Garnelen (ohne Schale) in Hummerweißweinsauce mit Knoblauchbrot 12,50€) entschieden. Dazu wurde uns noch Baguette und Olivenöl zum Dippen gereicht. Als Hautgang gab es Pizza "Siciliana" (mit Sardellen, Kapern und Oliven 13,90€) und "Tortelloni Checca" (gefüllt mit Ricotta und Lachs in einer Hummersauce mit gebraten Garnelen, Knoblauch und Kirschtomaten 18,90€). Dazu gab einen Rose und Weißwein. Es wurde regelmäßig nach weiteren Wünschen gefragt, zeitnah serviert und auch abgeräumt. Fazit: Gemütliche Atmosphäre in kleinem Nebenraum mit sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher, weiblicher Servicekraft. Geschmacklich alles gut abgestimmt und frisch bzw. al dente. Die selbst ausgewählten Weine passten optimal zu den Gerichten.

Lecker Pasta und tolle ausgewählte Weine Super Service

Die Vorspeisenplatte (Antipastiplatte) ist absolut zu empfehlen, wohingegen die „TrüffelPasta“ eine absolute Frechheit waren, knapp 20€ für ca 4 Gabeln Spaghetti die nach rein garnichts schmeckten, on Top der vermeintliche Trüffel der scheinbar nur Optik bringen sollte und absolut nichts geschmacklich beigesteuert hat. Dass das Servicepersonal mit einem „Nein“ nicht umgehen kann hat man schnell gemerkt, eingeschnappt und uns anschließend sitzen gelassen. Übrigens kam als Antwort zu unserer Aussage dass die Portion schon recht klein gewesen ist ein „kann passieren“. Zudem konnten wir nichtmal alle zusammen essen da das letzte Gericht so lange auf sich hat warten lassen dass der halbe Tisch (ich erinner nochmal an die 4 Gabeln Fertig Spaghetti) bereits aufgegessen hatte. Alles in allem nicht zu empfehlen, Adria ist nunmal nicht mehr das was es mal war. Hier kommen wir nicht mehr hin.

Aufmerksamer Service, leckere Weine , Pizza und Pasta

Zunächst einmal: das Restaurant hat mit seinem großen Wintergarten ein tolles Ambiente. Das war es dann aber auch. Der Service ist unaufmerksam, bestellt für uns in der Küche zwei falsche Gerichte. Kann passieren! 1/3 Pizzen ist verbrannt, der Rand fast schwarz. Reklamation: die Dame weiß damit nicht umzugehen, gibt von sich, dass der Chef nur Genießbares aus der Küche lässt. Mehr könne sie dazu nicht sagen. Wow! Am Ende wurde der volle Preis berechnet. Für die insgesamt schon gehobenen Preise bekommt man hier keine adäquate Leistung. Der Umgang mit den Kunden ist unbeholfen und unprofessionell.

Das Restaurant ist groß mit einem schönen Wintergarten. Dass der Aperol Spritz hier scheinbar mit Sprite angemischt wird ist vielleicht Geschmackssache. Die überbackene Pasta war gut, die Pizzen recht dick und wenig geschmacksintensiv. Wir hatten auch eine glutenfreie Pizza bestellt, diese bestand aus einem Fertigteigrohling, der nicht nur ziemlich klein sondern offensichtlich auch zu lange im Ofen war, da der Rand steinhart und dunkelbraun gebrannt war. Auf Nachfrage bei der Bedienung hieß es „der Chef habe diese Pizza persönlich gemacht und würde niemals etwas ungenießbares rausgeben“. Nun gut, vielleicht ist auch das Geschmacksache. Dass die glutenfreie Pizza komplett wieder zurückging und nur der Belag gegessen wurde, wurde nicht kommentiert. Unser Tisch im übrigen danach auch nur noch auf Anfrage bedient. Am Ende haben wir den vollen Preis gezahlt, aber freundlicherweise noch einen Schnaps aufs Haus bekommen. Laut Bedienung „selbstgebrannt“ - schmeckte nach ACE Saft mit einem Schuss Wodka. Da wir nicht aus de Gegend kommen, wird dies ohnehin unser einziger Besuch bleiben. Wenn jemand auf der Suche nach glutenfreiem Essen ist: vielleicht lieber die ebenfalls erhältliche glutenfreie Pasta probieren.

Das Essen ist gut, das Personal (wenngleich etwas vergesslich). Das Lokal ist erstaunlich leer.

Wir waren jetzt 2 Abende in Folge dort und waren rundum zufrieden. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen von Pizza über Spaghetti bis Lasagne war sehr nach unserem Geschmack und durchweg sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The pasta gamberetti was exceptional, in a very positive way. Innovative, but unlike usual the specialities added to the whole. The ingredients were obviously fresh; Garlic, chili and cheese in slices.

Service super. Allerdings waren wir etwas enttäuscht darüber das wir bei dem Doradenfilets statt Kartoffeln, für 5-6 gefüllte gnocchis nochmal 6.90 draufgezahlt haben. Das Gemüse dazu hatte ganz gefehlt. Geschmack war aber lecker. Vorspeise und meine Spagetti Marinara auch Geschmackvoll.

Ich hätte von einen Italiener mehr erwartet. Die Pizza war typisch eingedeutscht. Der Teig eher fade, für meinen Geschmack zuwenig Salz. (Buscuitte Teig). Ich bestellte Pizza Toscana, Zutaten waren von der Stange und nicht sehr hochwertig. Aber ist alles Geschmackssache. Wir waren etwas enttäuscht. Dafür war der Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. 👍

Die Pizza ist mit Tiefkühlpizza zu vergleichen. Leider schade. Der Teig von der Pizza hat geschmeckt, als wenn er 3 Tage alt wäre. Sonst ganz gut. Bedienung ist nicht gerade Gesprächig. Es ist auch sehr teuer.. Ob wir hier nochmal hin kommen überlegen wir uns gut.
