I visited Raph's BBQ Diner on a recommendation. The location is a bit hidden, and the setting takes some getting used to at first, but you quickly feel at home. The selection is large and varied, so everyone can find something to suit them. The food arrived quickly, and the service was friendly. The taste didn't quite match my personal preferences, but that's not the restaurant's fault—the quality of the food was absolutely impressive. Definitely a recommendation for BBQ fans.

We dined here several weeks ago. The food itself was delicious and more than enough. I shared a platter for two with a friend and we were really full. The taste was generally really good too. Unfortunately, the food didn't arrive at the table very hot, so it was already cold by the time we got halfway through. That was a real shame and annoying, because the cold meat ruined a lot of the food. I can eat cold meat the next day, but not in a restaurant! We told the service staff about it, but they just said they'd give it away. For a meal that costs well over 100 euros, I expect hot food, and if something goes wrong, I'll be more than happy to give it away.

I think it's a bit overhyped. They forgot the pulled beef on our platter... The brisket is good. But I've had better ribs, to be honest... You can get similarly good meat at a good brewery, I think. It's worth trying once - but I wouldn't repeat it.

So, unfortunately, we were blinded by the great videos. We were expecting the finest BBQ, but were sadly disappointed. The service was good, friendly, and fast. The food arrived quickly, but unfortunately only lukewarm. The ribs (which I was most looking forward to) had a very high fat content, not much meat on them, the brisket wasn't that juicy, but the pulled pork was good, and I personally didn't like the mac & cheese at all. The BBQ sauce was good, the mustard sauce not. Bottom line: it looks great, but the taste isn't that great for me. Price for Holy Trinity + drink: €51.80. We won't be going back. Nevertheless, I wish you continued success.

It was very tasty there. I can recommend the Brisket Burn Ends to everyone! They were incredibly delicious. The selected BBQ sauces to go with the meal were also very, very tasty. The chili cheese bratwurst was also very good, and the spice level was perfectly acceptable; I rarely eat spicy food. The homemade bread is also great combined with the sauces. The coleslaw was a bit different, but I liked it too. The only thing that wasn't quite my cup of tea was the iced tea, but that wasn't bad at all. Overall, it was a very delicious evening, and anyone nearby who's into BBQ should check it out ❤️😅 The food you see was enough for three people and was very good.

Another highlight was the very nice, friendly, and cheerful service! That's unfortunately rare these days when visiting restaurants. Good food, great service, highly recommended!

We had the Texas Heaven platter for 4 people and were more than satisfied 🤣 The meat was of the highest quality and very tasty, and the sides and sauces were all top-notch! The all-you-can-eat food was very filling, but the brisket, for example, was very dry. The ribs were good and very large, and the pulled pork was good.

We went to Raph's with our little daughter for the first time today, and it was absolutely delicious. The platter for two could easily have served four, and the quality of the food is top-notch. The service is very attentive, and the atmosphere somehow reminds me of my childhood. The playground on site was also a welcome change for our little daughter. We'd love to come back again <3

PS: The parking query is part of Google's query and one of several categories you fill out when writing a review. But that seems to be just as unknown as the professional handling of feedback. —- Atmosphere: Tennis hall. Still quite nice on the terrace. Drink prices reasonable. Menu appealing. Service great. Food: Average at best, less so. We had burgers (okay), fries (very good), and the Motherload Platter. The latter was completely overpriced at almost €38 and overall unappealing to me personally. The only thing I liked was the bratwurst. The rest had either too much or too little flavor. Personal feedback. If you've ever been to a good BBQ joint in Frankfurt or Berlin, or even in the US: I don't know if you'll be happy here. We won't be returning. But I had the feeling other people enjoyed themselves.

One of the few places that offers authentic BBQ. Very tasty, though not exactly cheap. For pulled beef or pulled pork, for example, the sauce has to be ordered separately. I find this incomprehensible, since the whole thing only tastes half as good without BBQ sauce. The selection is excellent. I'd happily come back again.

The BBQ was delicious and the meat was top-quality! Definitely worth a visit for the food. Unfortunately, the service was a bit inattentive and not very explanatory. For larger groups, space is limited, and there was also some confusion with reservations. However, they tried their best, and everything worked out. The ambiance is very rustic.

Very nice atmosphere and good service. The brisket was great, the ribs were fall off the bone. I didn't like the mac and cheese that much, but who comes for the sides? The meat was simply top-notch. 100% recommended. I would give it 120% if you offered beef ribs. Absolutely good value for money!

After following Raph on Instagram for a few months, I finally had the chance to try his BBQ. The two of us had the What the Beef platter with St. Louis ribs instead of the pastrami sandwiches, along with truffle parmesan fries. Since my wife "unfortunately" can't manage that much, I often sacrifice myself to use up leftovers. I didn't manage that with the platter. I tried and really gave it my all, which is why I'm currently in a food coma. In reality, the portions are significantly larger than they appear in photos or videos, and more than fair for the price. My conclusion: Meat lovers and BBQ fans will definitely get their money's worth here! The quality and taste of the food was fantastic. The service was also very good. Only the ambiance, right next to the tennis court, is so-so, but I'm happy to overlook that.

A true BBQ experience like in the USA! The meat was super tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked—a delight. The coleslaw, in particular, was really fresh and delicious, as were the other side dishes. The selection of sauces was also top-notch and rounded off the whole thing perfectly. If you like authentic BBQ, this is the place for you!

Lives solely off influencer advertising. The food is mediocre at best. Brisket and pulled pork have little smoke, more like they come from a combi steamer and then kept warm for an endless amount of time. Bone-dry. The chicken is rather rubbery. Not well done. The sausages are okay, but nothing more. You can get this quality in any supermarket these days. And all at prices that would make the guy pay his ass off. You get the impression that everything is designed for maximum profit. I think very few guests come more than once.

I had high expectations based on YouTube, etc., which were only partially confirmed. The food arrived very quickly and was presented on a platter as expected. It tasted quite delicious, but I was a bit disappointed because the briskers and ribs were a bit dry. The sides (cornbread, mac and cheese, coleslaw, pickles) were good; the cornbread surprised me a lot. The sausages are also very good. The service, however, disappointed me. We were quickly brought to our table, and our drinks and food also arrived quickly. However, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the bill, reminded the server twice that we wanted to pay, and ultimately, we were billed for the wrong table. A receipt was not issued. After recalculating our meal using the menu, it became clear to me that we had been charged incorrectly. When I mentioned this to the staff, it took 15 minutes for someone to correct the error. Unfortunately, there was no tip for this. The ambiance is great, though, really nice. For someone who doesn't regularly BBQ and knows how to make really juicy and delicious BBQ, this restaurant will leave nothing to be desired. For someone like me, who does regularly BBQ, it's better to stay home and make it yourself.

Dinner was very pleasant. We ordered a platter with various dishes, of which the ribs, coleslaw, and truffle fries were particularly recommendable. We found the pulled pork rather mediocre, and the brisket was too dry and generally not very flavorful. Perhaps we just got a bad cut, though, as everything else was very well seasoned. Cornbread and mac n cheese are a matter of taste in our opinion; they weren't our cup of tea. The service was attentive and good. Unfortunately, the heated conservatory is more of a covered terrace, so it can get cold there in windy conditions.

This was our first time here and we would go again. We had a "Raph's Motherload" platter, which was really, really good and everything on it was delicious. What was extremely disappointing was the "Bacon Cheeseburger." Unfortunately, it was one of the worse burgers we've had so far. Furthermore, the price of €17.40 without a side order is, to put it mildly, outrageous. The service was excellent! You were never left wanting, and both the drinks and the food were very quick. Subjectively, I didn't like the ambiance that much.

We went there for dinner with friends. It was fantastic. The food was delicious and the value for money was right on. There's also a small playground for children right on the premises.

HIPE in TikTok is incomprehensible... A bit overrated...

I've been to other BBQ restaurants with similar reputations before and can say this is one of the worse. Food, meat, drinks: The food was solid but not outstanding. We had a Texas Heaven Platter for 4 people. The spare ribs, etc., were juicy and delicious. The fries were carelessly slapped on top and not served right away. The homemade iced tea was delicious. Definitely recommended. Service: The service was nonexistent. After we got our table and ordered food and drinks, we didn't see the waiter again for over 1.5 hours. They didn't ask if we wanted more or if everything was okay. We were actually willing to leave some money. It didn't come to that. After ordering drinks for the first time, we were left high and dry for 1.5 hours. All the tables that became available weren't cleared, and for over an hour, the tables were full and, according to the waiter, weren't cleared because of the rain. In my opinion, the service is anything but structured and unfortunately significantly lowers the restaurant's quality.

If you're looking for American BBQ, this is the place for you. Excellently prepared meat and sausages, delicious side dishes, and great service. We were very satisfied. I highly recommend the onion rings, also known as an appetizer!

Atmosphere was good, but has someone who lived in the South of America for some time, it did not live up to the expectations of southern BBQ. Understand it is outside the U.S but would still expect a little more with the claim of it being American BBQ.

We went to Raph's BBQ today (Saturday), and it was our first BBQ experience for all three of us. Hyped up by various social media posts and the buzz surrounding American BBQ, we were really looking forward to the experience. First of all... the portions are generously sized. The highlight of the two platters we had were without a doubt the jalapeno cheese sausages and the fries. We completely missed the famous "smoke" flavor in every piece of meat on the platters. In retrospect, I wonder if any of them were even smoked with wood. The pulled pork, brisket, St. Louis ribs, and pork belly were dry and not particularly flavorful... Sure, if I dip everything in BBQ sauce, I have taste, but that's not the point for me. The pulled beef and brisket tasted, no joke, like soup meat, and we were all quite disappointed with the brisket in particular. I'd really like to hear some feedback on whether there were any spices missing and whether it was actually smoked, or whether we were simply expecting too much and it HAS to be that way.... Side dishes like mac and cheese, coleslaw, and corn were good, but not earth-shattering. Overall, I've had everything except the brisket in restaurants that didn't specialize in BBQ, and unfortunately, it was better everywhere. No hate here, just an honest opinion and the hope for a quick response.

I'm not a BBQ expert, but writing this review as a regular guest. We ordered the large BBQ platter for 4 people. The side dishes – especially the fries – were really tasty. Unfortunately, the meat overall wasn't convincing. The chicken pieces were the best, followed by the pulled pork and sausage. The pulled beef and brisket were very marbled, the brisket barely burned and not visually recognizable as such. The cheese sausage and pork belly were particularly disappointing: very fatty, barely edible – and unfortunately, there were a lot of them on the platter (about 8 pieces). It seems as if the portion was being stretched out with cheap meat. The plate was large and filling, but the price of €180 is absolutely unjustified. Overall, the proportion of low-quality, fatty meat was too high. One person in our group also had a burger – unfortunately, it was burnt and tasteless. Positive: The service was friendly and attentive. Negative: There's only one toilet, no separate squat toilet – rather inconvenient when the place is full. The location is an old clubhouse. Since the reviews here are generally quite good, I suspect we were just unlucky (we were there late on a Saturday night). Nevertheless, the impression remains: For over €200+ (including drinks), we got subpar food. It's a real shame – I won't be coming back.

Where should I begin... Spoiler: don't be fooled by TikTok! Absolute joke! Ordered a Texas Heaven 4-piece platter and got a Cologne AWB leftover. Mac n cheese and coleslaw tasted like they came from Lidl. Fries were okay (for €189). Sauces were okay, corn was unnecessary, and pickles were complete rubbish. Now, let's get to the meat: First, the worst part - the Saint Louis ribs, don't make me laugh... completely cold, 80% fat, unmarinated, and tasteless. The brisket was cold, of course. The pulled pork and beef were as dry as a corner behind the wardrobe. The chicken wings and leg were unfortunately also extremely cold. I think they were briefly refrigerated beforehand. And those absolutely cheeky, shriveled sausages, everything falls right out of your face, taste-wise, they're truly a disgrace. We were there a year ago. How can you lose so much so quickly? More work, less TikTok, I say.

One small point for improvement: For an all-you-can-eat meal, I would have liked a bit more variety – for example, a second type of sausage, a classic mac & cheese as an additional side dish, or perhaps another BBQ sauce, since unfortunately there was only one to choose from. That would have made the experience even more complete. The service was generally okay. They checked regularly to see if everything was going well, but there was no traditional plate change – you used your own plate the whole time. That's generally okay, but a fresh plate every now and then might have been more pleasant. The service staff sometimes seemed a bit listless, as if they didn't enjoy their work. But as soon as you spoke to them directly, they were friendly, helpful, and courteous. A minor inconsistency, but one that didn't significantly detract from the overall impression. I really liked the atmosphere at Raph's BBQ. The outdoor area was great – the tables were a comfortable distance apart, so it never felt too crowded or crowded. The interior of the restaurant was also beautifully decorated in the American BBQ style, creating an authentic atmosphere. The restrooms were a minor drawback – they definitely could have been a bit cleaner and more well-maintained and didn't quite fit with the otherwise harmonious overall look. I can absolutely recommend Raph's BBQ! If you love good BBQ, this is definitely the place to go. And for anyone who might be concerned that the portions might be too small: My colleague and I are both really big eaters – and we were full in no time! So, the concept works perfectly.

A busy restaurant, so it's advisable to reserve a table in advance. I enjoyed the grilled meat; the portions weren't too big, but not too small either. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was a matter of taste, thematically. My conclusion: Grade B (according to the school system)

Amazing BBQ sauces. We enjoyed the food we did get, but they were out of briskets, which was extremely disappointing. The location is really not very welcoming at all and could use a metaphorical fresh coat of paint.

Unfortunately, the Raph doesn't live up to the hype. After weeks of anticipation, we were brought back down to earth. We ordered the What a Meat Platter, habanero wings, and two sausages. The wings, sausages, and pastrami sandwich were truly a culinary delight. The brisket and pulled beef were unfortunately reminiscent of a bite into the Sahara Desert. Unfortunately, they weren't juicy at all and had little flavor. It seemed to us as if the brisket had been pre-cut and sitting in the kitchen all day, thus losing all its juiciness. Maybe we were just unlucky and the animals came from the Sahara. Everything else was solid, but not earth-shattering. There's nothing wrong with the service and ambiance.

Sitting outside in beautiful summer weather with a delicious meat platter at Raph's BBQ is simply the best. Service is super fast and friendly. What can I say about the food? It's simply amazing, no matter what you eat, it tastes good. My favorites are the pulled beef and the brisket burnt ends, which are simply delicious.

It's something different. But the prices are, of course, ridiculously high. I'm hoping for a good margin for the operator. The waitress described the portions as oversized—we'd barely be able to fill ourselves with a shared platter☺️

We went to Raph's BBQ and ordered the Texas Heaven platter for 4 people – and the portion was more than generous. Even though we're all big eaters, it was more than enough. The meat was really juicy and flavorful, the fries and sides were also impressive – all in all, a very successful meal. The service was friendly and quick, and the food arrived promptly. The ambiance suited me personally – it leans towards BBQ style without being over the top. Overall, a harmonious visit with delicious food, good service, and decent portions. I would definitely recommend it.

I was expecting a bit more. The ribs were generally too fatty and heavy for me. I prefer them to be tightly packed and smaller than baby ribs, but these were also labeled as St. Louis ribs. The outer layer had a great flavor and they were very well cooked. There were many variations of pulled beef, but they all tasted somewhat the same, and the sauces were unfortunately not quite my taste. The sausage is also special; the "specialty" is in the meat mixture and not served on top of the sausage. Fried onions or chili cheese can be found in the sausage. But these are, of course, individual preferences; the place was very busy, so I'm perhaps not the ultimate benchmark for this. Anyone looking for this type of BBQ will be absolutely satisfied. The service was super friendly and very attentive; there's nothing to complain about. I just didn't like the ambiance in the winter garden; it was relatively close together, noisy, and a bit more cleanliness (floor and cobwebs on the ceiling) would have been desirable.

Are you wondering if it's worth the price? Is it comfortable to sit with friends? Is the BBQ as good as it looks online? Yes, yes, yes. I've been to Raph's three times so far. Both times I was more than satisfied. The seating is great, I even managed to get a table spontaneously in the evening. Price/Performance 10/10 Quality/Quantity 10/10 Now I've been to another major BBQ chef (G...) just to compare. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing, but it showed me that it's extremely difficult to serve this BBQ with consistent quality, warmth, and quantity every time. Slip-ups can happen, but everything has always been great for me so far. I only realized this because of the comparison, hence the rating :) Ribs 10/10 WOW, truly a highlight The chicken also surprised me! The platter is always worth it; I've never had such juicy, delicious chicken. -every time so far Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and cucumber salad are deliciously smoky. Go and enjoy :)

We're outraged. After all the praise from influencers, we wanted to try it ourselves, but what we experienced was a far cry from what's shown online. While we had already expected that many things would be exaggerated online and that the portions would be smaller than advertised, the fact that even the products (St. Louis ribs) advertised on the menu and in the videos are missing is truly annoying. The pulled pork/beef was abysmal: dry and barely edible. The brisket tasted okay, but unfortunately, it was also dry. We ordered the Texas Heaven platter for 8 people.

Simply fantastic! We visited the restaurant and also attended one of Raph's sundowner parties – we're also huge fans of the homemade sauces – and we were absolutely thrilled. We'd be happy to come back anytime. The value for money is outstanding, and the BBQ-themed cuisine is unmatched anywhere else in our region. Perfect craftsmanship and absolute love!

First of all, the service was great! Very friendly staff! Prompt and competent. The food didn't meet our expectations. The bottom bun was so soggy that it was impossible to eat the burger in our hands, so we had to use a knife and fork. The patties were a bit tough and lacked flavor, like the entire burger... I couldn't find the special sauce. For the price of €21, I find this presentation of a burger really cheeky. No smoky flavor, no kick, and no recognition value. Anyway, the fries were great. Don't be fooled by the 5 stars. For a total of almost €60, the food served was simply a disgrace.

We were absolutely thrilled! The place is a bit smaller than expected, but the food was all the more impressive – one of the best BBQs we've ever had! We ordered the Trinity platter (spare ribs, brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, coleslaw, cornbread, and super-delicious pickled cucumber slices) and a chili cheese beef sausage – and what can we say: It was by far the best chili cheese sausage we've ever eaten! The service was super friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. In total, we paid about €75 including tips – absolutely fair for the quality and quantity. We were passing through and reserved a table in advance for lunch. The location isn't the prettiest, and there's a certain odor inside, but it dissipates once the food is served. Excellent service. The quality, taste, and quantity are truly outstanding. I've already been to Guller twice (I live nearby) and I find the BBQ at Raph's better :-)

American BBQ isn't necessarily one of my favorite cuisines—but you have to be objective sometimes. And Raph's BBQ really surprised me in a positive way. The meat was super tender, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The portions are absolutely generous, and the side dishes are perfect. You can tell that the food here is prepared with passion and experience. Only the mac 'n' cheese wasn't quite to my taste—but that's purely a matter of taste and doesn't detract from the overall impression. A small note: When making online reservations, you could perhaps add that the winter garden is open. This would be particularly useful in cooler weather, so you can dress appropriately—but it's just a small suggestion for improvement. All in all, a thoroughly successful visit—honest food, a friendly place, a definite recommendation!

I didn't wait a minute for my drink. It only took 5 minutes for the food, and the food was excellent. Apocalypse platter for two (€57). It had food for three people, and the service was incredibly friendly. The three-hour drive was worth it.

Absolutely delicious...the meat is so tender, it falls off the bone! Highly recommended - everything here is perfect! A must-visit! The only suggestion I'd make is if they offered original US drinks like root beer, floating Coke, etc....but it was top-notch!

Difficult. Of course, the anticipation was huge. We were there on Sunday. We reserved a table for two in the winter garden. The weather was great, but we were seated inside. Drinks were self-service, but we didn't have a problem with that. The ambiance is nicely decorated. The all-you-can-eat menu strikes me as a mass-production experience. You get a platter placed on your table, then you savour your meal, and that's it. There was no introduction, like platters. They weren't even on the table. The food was good, but the quality of the brisket varied greatly across the three platters. It was worth the experience, but the place didn't convince me.

I've rarely eaten such delicious meat. A must for every BBQ lover!

A great, authentic BBQ experience with high-quality beef, a good selection of craft beers, and delicious sauces. We opted for the "What the Beef" platter and were very satisfied. A super tender, buttery brisket, sweet burnt ends, soft, juicy pulled beef, a pastrami sandwich, and delicious sides. We also ordered the skin-on fries with Cajun spice and the Tika fries. All in all, a great BBQ spot with short wait times, great food, and reasonable prices. We'd be happy to go again!

I've been following Raph's BBQ on Instagram for years and always wanted to pay a visit. For my birthday, I finally had the time to drive from Hanover to Cologne. And what can I say? It was exactly as delicious as I imagined. The only thing that really surprised me was the service. I've rarely met such lovely and friendly people. You all do a great job, and I'm looking forward to more wonderful moments and delicious BBQ platters.

We'd never had American BBQ before and were excited to try the food. We weren't disappointed. We had the large meat platter and were very impressed. The wings could have been a bit spicier, and I missed the spare ribs on the platter. But otherwise, it was excellent.

Great diner, very nice friendly staff and if you like BBQ the food is excellent, we were stuffed and something I have never experienced before, you are offered a container for the leftovers.

We ate there for the second time and this time there are 5 stars for a great BBQ. Thank you Daniel for the nice surprise... best birthday...

Delicious BBQ experience with small flaws - but definitely worth a visit! I went to Raph's BBQ Diner on Saturday and tried the Holy Trinity Platter as well as Raph's Smoky Bratwurst and Skin-on Fries - a real feast for meat lovers! The brisket and the pulled pork were outstanding: wonderfully tender, juicy and tasty. The two BBQ sauces included – a real poem, perfectly balanced and wonderfully aromatic. Unfortunately, I was less impressed by the ribs, which I personally found to be too fatty. The taste is ok, but a little more balance would have been nice. The coleslaw was crunchy and tasty, the pickled onions went perfectly with it with their mild acidity. The mac 'n' cheese was okay, but for my taste it could have used a little more spice or character. The cornbread tasted good, but was a bit too dry and crumbly for me. The smoky bratwurst tasted great, but I found it too big. I would find a smaller portion at a correspondingly lower price more attractive - then I might even have wanted to try a second variety. Finally, a delicious brownie rounded off the meal successfully - juicy and sweet, just right as a dessert. The staff were consistently attentive and very friendly - you feel welcome here. The ambience in the winter garden is simple, somewhat reminiscent of a beer garden: functional, but with charm. A small downer for me was that dogs are allowed. During my visit there was a very barking dog at the next table, which was quite loud due to the acoustics in the winter garden. The fact that he even appeared under my table wasn't ideal - but that's a personal assessment and isn't included in the rating because the topic of dog tolerance is very individual. Overall 4 out of 5 stars – a successful BBQ spot that I can definitely recommend!

Great food, great plates, very well smoked. Top service, the tables are a bit tight in the restaurant. The beer garden, on the other hand, is great.

The restaurant is in a tennis clubhouse. Everything seems a bit run down, there was an LED strip hanging loosely on the wall. The toilet fell into pieces when used. Food was tasty but very expensive. Service was great. Delicious BBQ with backyard character. Unfortunately overpriced for the shabby atmosphere. 200€ for 4 people at the wobbling table. No cell phone reception and no WiFi either. Too bad
