Best burger I've ever eaten the first time. The second time you tasted the inflation. Friendly staff and good music.

Way too expensive! The shop is an okay snack bar, but nothing more. What gave you the idea that your burgers should be so expensive? This is a joke.

The burgers were delicious, all organic, but anything but inexpensive. Unfortunately, the stools were extremely uncomfortable, so we left quite quickly.

Burgers and fries with rosemary mayo were really tasty. The patty was perfectly medium, the goat cheese harmonized very well with the sauces and the bun was also good. Tasteful furnishings. Service friendly. Okay... The prices... It's just not for every day...

Service would have earned 5 stars if we hadn't been forgotten after the main course. A coffee like that would have been really good. Otherwise really very friendly and competent! Food was of top quality and perfectly prepared.

The staff is super friendly. Drinks and fries are awesome. I had the lamb burger. It was dry and somehow carelessly prepared. Not a culinary highlight and not worth the price.

The shop deserves 5 stars because of the burger alone, unfortunately that's the only one. Price are extremely expensive. Good quality has its price, but when you are indirectly being pressured to finally get up with 6 people even though you have already made around €300 in sales, the quality is of secondary importance here.

For me the price-performance ratio is not right. The taste of the burger didn't blow me away. The employees were all very friendly. We didn't find it particularly comfortable where we sat, right next to the entrance to the kitchen. Don't have to go there again.

The vegan burger is not worth the price, also expensive beers. I cannot judge for the meet options, but as a vegetarian / vegan don't go there.

Reserved via Open Table with the request for a quiet table as we will have a dog with us. Late in the afternoon a call came with the information that dogs were not allowed for hygiene reasons because the kitchen was open. In the TV report Björn Freitag didn't see it that way. It's ok, everyone has their own house rules. But we can't come without a dog either.

Horrible treatment of the employees

Very nice restaurant for burgers and steaks in an upscale organic Ehrenfeld style. My Spicy Fishburger with trout was delicious. All in all, top quality, super attentive service, but also at organic prices! You shouldn't forget that, otherwise it would be a bit expensive. We really liked it and I'm happy to give it 5 stars.

Wir waren das erste mal bei Karl Hermanns. Den Tisch hatte ich zur Mittagszeit reserviert. Es war schon ruhig dort. Die Atmosphäre war gemütlich und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Für Zöliakie Erkrankte gibt es bei den Burgern ein Glutenfreies Brot/Brötchen.

The meat is delicious. You can taste quality. You would pay more for it somewhere else. The sauces are compositions. Splendid. The gluten-free rolls are wonderful. The coleslaw is perfectly crunchy with a few pumpkin and sunflower seeds (although I'm not actually a fan of these ingredients, but there aren't too many, so it works!) I was even offered gluten-free dessert. Not related to food: - friendly and attentive service - relaxed jazz music - Ambience cozy, stylish, not aloof, but also with bar tables - I even got gluten-free beer (Lammsbräu)

I was a little hungry today and wanted to eat something. The burger joint was just right for me. I ordered a cheeseburger without a side dish for €19.50. The burger didn't look special and the meat was very bland, boring and unseasoned. At that price I expect something different. It definitely wasn't worth the money. I definitely won't go there anymore.

Yes, what can you say, very friendly staff, almost too friendly :-D In terms of taste, it's a good standard burger. There were six of us and we all had different burgers. Unfortunately there is a big difference in price performance here, €16 to €21 for a burger without any side dishes. €5 for a small fries and €2.50 for a dollop of mayonnaise. 5€ for a "fruit soda" and you're at 33.50€ for one person with a burger, fries, drink and mayonnaise. Sorry, way too much. For the price the burgers would have to be a lot bigger and e.g. With the “double smasher” there are also two more ingredients. So I'm out, as are my companions. It's a shame about the concept, it has potential, but still 3 stars, I would like to give it 2...

Burgers have gone down here. Small portion of burgers. The taste is not as good as it used to be. Pomeranians were dry and the price was well overpriced. I think we're changing our store. I didn't feel like I was eating anything special today

Sehr freundliches Personal und eine gute Atmosphäre. Wir saßen draußen und die Servicekraft erzählte uns von der Herkunft der Fleisches und der Burger-Zutaten. Alle Produkte werden regional gekauft und wir schmeckten die Frische. Wir folgten der Empfehlung Pommes Frites zu bestellen, die im Rindertalg frittiert werden. Sie waren crispy und hatten einen besonderen Geschmack, der uns gefiel. Ein besonderes Burger-Erlebnis. Reservierung erforderlich.

Die Qualität der Zutaten ist sehr gut, aber ein Burger bleibt ein Fast Food Essen und dafür sind die Preise viel zu hoch. Alles muss einzeln dazu bestellt werden, so kommt man schnell auf 30 € pro Person, für einen Burger, Pommes Frites und Weißkohlsalat. Die Getränke noch gar nicht eingerechnet. Eine Gault millau Mütze ändert daran auch nichts.

I've eaten here a lot over the last few years and it always tastes good. But lately I have to say I've noticed a lot of things that aren't so consistent... Everything from a Demeter farm and advertise that they are organic... but unfortunately they are not... The meat is from the farm but the rest around it is not organic. Spices are also not from Sonnentor or similar good organic products... The buns are not organic either. In the end, an upscale shop with very good quality meat 🥩. The buns and sauces are also good but sometimes too much... Apparently there are kitchen helpers working there too…. The cook himself does everything 1a. Not too much, not too little. Otherwise Jerrey says All Right 🤓

First the positive. Very friendly staff, very friendly service! We had to wait a long time for our food even though it wasn't very busy. We suspect that it was due to parallel “out of home” orders. This should be solved better, as a guest you are already annoyed if you wait and wait while the Lieferando driver picks up the large bags. The very expensive burgers ended up being just burgers. Delicious, no question, but definitely not worth the high prices of around 20.00 euros, just for the burger, WITHOUT any side dishes. Both burgers weren't really hot and there wasn't enough sauce on them. The fries were very tasty, but they were also quite overpriced at 8 euros for a large portion plus 1.5 euros per sauce. A 0.33 Cola costs 4 euros, and the homemade mint lemonade (very tasty by the way) even costs a whopping 5 euros. In the end we paid 69.50 euros for 2 burgers with fries, ketchup and mayonnaise and 4 drinks. Our conclusion: We won't be coming back because unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right for us at all. Nevertheless, we would like to thank you for the very friendly and nice service.

Service was very nice, but the kitchen was unfortunately bad. Even if you sit outside with your baby, people smoke mercilessly at the next table. Loading has kind of died for me now.

Zunächst das Positive. Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr freundliche Bedienung! Auf das Essen mussten wir lange warten, obwohl nicht sehr viel los war. Wir vermuten, dass es an parallel laufenden "Außer Haus" - Bestellungen lag. Das sollte man besser lösen, man ist als Gast schon verärgert, wenn mal selber wartet und wartet, während der Lieferando-Fahrer die großen Tüten abholt. Die sehr teuren Burger waren am Ende einfach nur Burger. Zwar lecker, keine Frage, aber keinesfalls diese hohen Preise von um die 20,00 Euro, und zwar nur für den Burger, OHNE Beilagen wert. Beide Burger waren auch nicht richtig heiß und es war viel zu wenig Sauce drauf. Die Pommes waren sehr lecker, aber auch diese waren mit 8 Euro für eine große Portion plus 1,5 Euro pro Sauce ziemlich überteuert. Eine Cola 0,33 schlägt mit 4 Euro zu Buche, die selbstgemachte Minzlimo (sehr lecker im Übrigen) sogar mit stolzen 5 Euro. Am Ende haben wir für 2 Burger mit Pommes, Ketchup und Majo und 4 Getränke 69,50 Euro bezahlt. Unser Fazit: Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder, weil für uns das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis leider überhaupt nicht gestimmt hat. Dennoch bedanken wir uns für den sehr freundlichen und netten Service.

Cheeseburger with bacon 21.- no side dish.

I was really enthusiastic about this shop for years, until almost a year ago when the restaurant manager was replaced by new staff. I've been struggling with the all-round package for a while now, but I thought I'd give it another chance. The taste is no longer what it once was (not to mention the prices) and the feeling/soul has been completely lost. Apart from that, it is absurd to shout at your staff, even while the business is running, in front of the guests. Never again.

Ingesamt ein stimmiges Konzept. Wer einen günstigen Burger-Laden sucht ist hier falsch. Wer allerdings Wert auf gute Qualität, Regionalität und ein wenig mehr legt ist hier richtig. Wir waren sonntags sehr früh dort und es war wenig los. Wir wurden aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich bedient es ging alles zeitlich ansprechend schnell, ohne dass man das Gefühl hatte, man bekommt nur alles was schon vorbereitet war. Das Essen war so wie man es erwartet hatte und die Blueberry BBQ Sauce war angenehm fruchtig ohne künstlich zu schmecken. klassischer Cheeseburger war gut Medium gegrillt und Pulled Beef Burger war immens geschmacksintensiv. Die Pommes waren sehr lecker und vorallem mal nicht übersalzen. Die mit Pesto und Parmesan waren sehr lecker und trotzdem schön kross. Insofern es wird nicht der letzte Besuch gewesen sein auch wenn wir nicht so besonders oft Burger essen.

Die Burger sind einfach fantastisch. Auch die Fritten können einiges, der Service ist super nett, einfach empfehlenswert!

For me, Karl Hermann's is the top 1 quality restaurant in Cologne so far, it's juicy, tastes great and the staff is very hospitable and polite, the restaurant looks very small from the outside, but has a surprisingly large number of seats inside. It's a great way to spend your day away. As a suggestion for improvement, I would suggest that more napkins be placed at the tables, as the burger is really juicy and tasty.

The burgers are great, one point deducted from the service because they brought us a dirty, open ashtray outside, the slightest breath of wind spreads the ashes, so it's better to use "the big one*."

Very nice service, the people are relaxed and attentive. The restaurant is also furnished in a modern, friendly manner. The music is good if you like 60s culture. The food is also good, but it could be a little more. The medium burger was too well done for my taste, but with the meat that is so praised, you shouldn't have any reservations about serving it half raw. Unfortunately the drinks are overpriced. We were there for the second time and paid 75 euros for two people. Burgers were ok, but beyond the meat the taste didn't live up to what the menu promised. Speaking of the menu: at least two of the “specials” were out. Unfortunately, the frying fat was apparently no longer the freshest either. Ambience ok, service was probably a temporary worker. There remains a grumbling in the stomach: one about the price and one about the fries. That's why only 2 stars. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

The food is really very tasty. The service was also very friendly and the atmosphere was right. But now straight to the biggest drawback: the price. Although the burger is really very good, the menu refers to the very high organic quality standards and the other dishes are also very tasty, the price is not justified even with rising food prices! I've had better burgers for a cheaper price. Paying over €40 for a burger with fries and two drinks is almost horrendous. The burger was good, but unfortunately really not worth the price of €21 JUST FOR THE BURGER.

Of the three meals, one was excellent, one was average and one unfortunately did not live up to expectations. The Cologne bitter balls are a dream, the pulled beef tastes mainly of sauce and unfortunately little of the other delicious components and the KH bacon cheeseburger tastes of its components and there was no harmonious taste. The lemonade was extremely tasty and the service was attentive and friendly.

It used to be a top store when the previous manager still worked here. Yesterday I was served a fart-dry burger that tasted way below McDonald's. A double cheeseburger, a small fries, ketchup and mayo along with a drink cost an outrageous €46.50. In my opinion, Dre Laden no longer has a reason to exist.

Yes, a lot of it is organic, yes the quality of the ingredients is very high and it tastes good too. But it is still a burger. And for what is offered, it is simply too expensive. We paid a whopping 75.50 euros for 2 drinks, a shared starter, 2 cheeseburgers, a shared large portion of fries and 2 small pots of sauce. And the burgers weren't even medium - as we ordered them. The service seemed a bit uninvolved at times, the ambience is above average for a burger joint.

Price performance is not right. The burger is good but doesn't justify the price.

Das Essen war gut, die Vorspeise exzellent, der Hauptgang einmal ebenso, einmal durchschnittlich und die Beilage wieder exzellent. Die Getränke waren gut (Minzlimo). Die Philosophie passt zu den Gerichten, aber schön wäre wenn man weniger Komponenten schmeckt als vielmehr ein neues Geschmackserlebnis hat. Das klappte bei der Vorspeise mit den Kölschen Bitterbällchen, beim Pulled Beef Burger war es ok, der Bacon-Cheese-Burger hingegen hätte davon profitiert.

In the rather high-priced segment, however, the prices are put into perspective by the high-quality food.

The burger itself was ok. Well crafted but not special. I had the chicken burger with crispy chicken fillet. It tasted good but there was nothing sophisticated about it. I think organic quality is really cool and I'm happy to pay for it. But €19 for a burger without anything!? You could at least put something inexpensive next to it, a bit of coleslaw or a fry, or put the burger in a premium size. So I'm out, sorry.

Good selection of tasty burgers. I would like to see alternative rolls, for example with dark flour. Service and advice very good, including recommendations. The tables were quite close together, which is why you could hear almost everything the neighbors were talking about. We were there on the weekend, so street parking was free.

We were very happy with our food, everything was delicious and the service was great too. Very relaxed and friendly service. The prices are rather high, but I think that's okay given a certain level of quality and you can find out more in advance. Unfortunately we sat at a high table, the chairs were a bit hard and uncomfortable at some point. All in all, highly recommended.

WOW, I actually discovered this restaurant by accident. I first saw the prices at the entrance and thought to myself, oh well, not without it, but I'd be happy to pay more if the quality of the product is right. Small spoiler The prices are more than reasonable for the experience I had. A great atmosphere thanks to an insanely modern/rustic interior that I have never seen before. Thoroughly friendly staff and a great and varied menu. I don't have to say much about my dish: Super tasty and my meat just the way I love it, medium / medium rare. My dessert: Caramel chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream was super tasty and everything was homemade, which you can clearly taste ^^ I certainly won't forget this visit so quickly and will come back the next time I'm in Cologne. Tasty burger, however not too many choices of burger types. Friendly people serve you with smile. The place could be a little cleaner. The food is overpriced. All in all a nice experience.

Nice selection of craft beers and a great burger. Truly, farm to table concept is well executed with a well seasoned burger that speaks for itself. Enjoyed the meal and will be sure to return to try more of the menu.

Absolutely positive experience. My brother from America has never eaten such a good burger. After I dragged him to Karl Hermann's he was thrilled, even though he has tried many, many burgers in his 52 years. The waitress was so kind in explaining the origin of all the ingredients to us. One of the best burger restaurants in Cologne. Furnishings deliberately kept hip (if you like). The burgers are rated positively in terms of taste. As others have mentioned, finesse is in many small details. (Buns fried crispy in butter, etc.) The citizens are a bit small for the price but fill you up. The homemade lemonade tastes refreshing and not too sweet. Please note that the breakfast menu is valid until 2 p.m. (Only 1 regular and 1 breakfast burger) I will probably go here again as the overall average was consistent. Maybe they should work on the speed too. Quality lasts. Yes. But every time I was there it took at least 30 minutes until I at least had fries, no matter how busy it was.

Today we spontaneously came here. The two ladies in service were extremely friendly in a very pleasant way. The burgers and fries were super delicious.

Wir waren zu viert dort und hatten alle verschiedene Burger von der Wochenkarte. Allen hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr freundlich, schnell und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren jetzt schon öfter bei Karl Hermann‘s und haben immer super gegessen. Ob Vorspeise, Steak, Spare Ribs oder Burger alles war immer perfekt. Zu trinken gabs entweder eine leckere selbstgemachte Limo oder ein Bier. Einziges Manko das ich einerseits schade aber andererseits wieder gut finde ist das es manchmal nicht das Gericht der Wahl vorrätig gab. Das bedeutet aber eigentlich nur das immer alles frisch ist, wenig weggeschmissen wird und man sich eines der anderen Gerichte aussuchen darf. Würden jeder Zeit wieder hingehen.
