House burger was a GFB. Served quickly, got atmosphere, and a nice beer too.

Great burger and service, but the fries are the star! Don't expect classic Canadian poutine, but expect awesome other flavors of the fries, like the Sloppy Joe!

Calling this abomination "poutine" is an insult to Canada and good taste. Unfriendly service, American cheese baked on top (=plastic), potatoes that taste like they're from the year before last. And all at a rather high price. Hard to discourage, especially if you appreciate a decent poutine.

Good portions, filling and delicious

Super delicious burgers and fries. Super friendly service. Our kids even got their long-awaited nuggets, even though they weren't on the menu.

The food was okay. You had to pick it up yourself at the counter, but that wasn't a problem. Accordingly, service wasn't really good. I didn't like the ambiance. The music was way too loud, so I wanted to sit somewhere else. So I sat closer to the entrance, only to inhale cigarette smoke from the cook, who was smoking right outside the open door, while I ate.

The meat was very dry, the bread was falling apart. No potatoes. It's self-service, so no one waits on you at the table.

I don't know why everyone criticizes the locals' taste. We were very satisfied; the burgers were very tasty, both chicken and beef. The staff was also super friendly. 👍

Great burger and fries for the family. Food was quick. The guys even made chicken nuggets (off menu?) for the kids. We even came back a second time on our 3 day trip for the kids to eat.

Wow, that burger was incredibly delicious. I ordered the Köhlsche Jung burger with black pudding. I highly recommend it. The fries and mayo were also really good. Highly recommended!

The burger was good, very tasty, and well-topped. Unfortunately, the poutine fries weren't my cup of tea; they were very greasy. I also thought it was a shame that they didn't have the classic poutine (fries, gravy, and shredded cheese) on the menu. If they offer poutine fries, they should have that on their menu.

We had a veggie cheeseburger, a Fräulein H. beef burger, and a veggie burger. The burgers were good, but nothing special. The flavor was a bit bland, and the amount of sauce made the burger almost inedible, as it fell apart. The location is great.

The burger had a coarsely ground texture, and although it took a while to cook, it was delicious and worth the wait.

There were four of us there. The two guys behind the counter seemed a bit grumpy at first (but they changed over time and became friendly). The Habanero Burger was a bit too bland for me personally, but tasty (the bun was a bit hard/dry and the patty a bit too crumbly but juicy). The fries were excellent. The place itself was quite chic and clean...but the restrooms were creepy and unpleasant, hence only 3 stars.

Quality burgers on a terrace with a beautiful setting

I've had this place on my list for a while. I really liked the burgers. After a short wait we picked it up. We ordered Miss Greek and Miss Herborths. The fries were really great. The burgers themselves aren't bad either. The buns were great. The rest is not wrong. The meat was also tasty. All in all you definitely can't go wrong. However, I'm missing something special. Would I visit this restaurant again? Of course. Price-wise, completely okay.

The burger was really tasty and freshly prepared. The meat in particular was juicy and tasty. The bacon could have been a little crispier for my taste, but that's a matter of taste. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The fries were thickly cut, nice and salty and tasted great. Overall a very good experience.

First of all, something positive: the staff there are very friendly. Unfortunately, it didn't make the food any better. We were very disappointed with these burgers. I would say the fries were pretty good, but unfortunately the burgers weren't. First of all, I found the pretzel bun to be anything but suitable for the burger. I took the Habanero Burger and unfortunately it was 0% spicy. My companion had the cheeseburger, which probably wasn't much better. The meat was ok but the sauces unfortunately had no taste. Too bad.

You go to the counter, order in person, call a number, and it gets picked up. Have lunch while enjoying the atmosphere at an outdoor table in the square. Cheeseburgers are the best. It's huge, so go when you're hungry.

Fan-static burger that really tastes like something, at a good price. Fries just the way I like them and everything is completely uncomplicated and nice. Kidsburger is the same size as the normal one, but without sauce, salad and everything that I love but my children don't.

As the only guest, I asked where my burger was after 30 minutes. Then suddenly there was a rush and apparently the stove was broken. But time to go to the neighboring store. And the meat may be fresh, but the bun probably wasn't. And the burger was carelessly prepared. But at least the fries were hot and good.

Not recommended. The burger has potential, but was absolutely disappointing. The patty was good and warm. The bun could have been good but was cold. The bacon was super crispy but also cold. Then the BBQ sauce was missing. So in summary a cold BBQ bacon burger without BBQ sauce. There is no service, order yourself, pick it up yourself, bring it back yourself. The ambience at the Alter Markt is not bad, but just super dirty. Toilet was ok.

There are very good burger joints everywhere, but this one is the best in my opinion. The Italian Job is the best burger I've ever tasted and I keep coming back and can't manage to try another one. The fries are very good, but the burgers are really the main attraction here, especially with the red pesto. The restaurant itself is unfortunately a bit small and doesn't have many seats, but luckily I've always had a seat and that makes the atmosphere very pleasant and somewhat rustic. Service is also 1a. All around the best burger place I know.

From the outside it looks very small and therefore seems more like a banal snack bar. But you shouldn't let that fool you. The burgers were really great with a homemade sauce. Each burger variant is available with a chicken patty, beef patty or veggie patty. The burgers are fresh and not too greasy. The fries are also very tasty. It's self-service. The people behind the counter don't seem like classic Cologne chefs at first, but appearances are deceptive. Very nice and friendly people who are happy to respond to customer requests. Also fond of children. Only the toilets and the way down via a metal staircase take some getting used to. But as tenants there is little they can do about it. We'd love to come back.

Inconspicuous from the outside, food absolutely world class! The guys who worked were friendly, attentive, worked cleanly and shared the tasks well. Everything freshly prepared, quality excellent. 5/5 I can only recommend!

We had 2 burgers and fries delivered. First of all, both burgers were incorrectly topped. We specifically stated what should not be put on it, which was skillfully ignored. Can happen. But one of the burgers was completely inedible and so oversalted that it made my lips hurt. Sometimes there were real grains of salt that you could then bite on. The other burger was also oversalted but not to that extreme. In contrast, the fries were not salted at all. It's a shame that we're stuck with the delivery, but we know that we won't be ordering there again.

We had the 2 types of poutine. The fries were tasty and fried long enough. The toppings are also very good. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the burgers. It was quick, we didn't have to wait long and we were able to eat on site. Would go here again and try the burgers this time.

The location looks simple. A real burger joint but with crazy delicious fresh burgers. They are baked medium. Sandwich and homemade sauce complete it. A ten for the taste

The burgers fall apart completely, a real mess to eat because there is too much sauce on them. The taste is rather average. The fries are delicious. I can't say anything about the service, there is no service, you have to get the food yourself. Overall: I won't be coming back

One of the best burgers I had in a very long time! The portion was very big,enough for a big guy! The service was great, there is one Polish guy,who was very kind and polite. He made as feel welcome. The meat and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I think the prices are very reasonable too, considering the service and food that you receive. Honestly cannot recommend it enough! If you are visitig the town,this should be on your bucket list!

Unfortunately the meat is really not good. The burger lacks a certain flavor. The homemade sauce wasn't that great either. Some of the fries weren't cooked properly... The prices for this quality are far too expensive for me personally.

We were there at lunchtime. Fast self-service, good drinks, delicious burger. Only a small menu but freshly prepared, crisp breading on the chicken burger, good fries. Everything at a fair price. I can only recommend it

The veggie patty didn't taste like anything. Beef patty was completely dry because it was well cooked. Sauces were also tasteless. BBQ burger only had a simple tomato sauce. The only good thing was the fries.

Super tasty burgers, side dishes (fries, coleslaw) were also great. There was an extra Kids Burger for the children. Everything was fresh but prepared very quickly. We loved it and would definitely come back!

During my stay in Cologne I stopped by chance in this small place and I couldn't have made a better choice. I had the opportunity to taste a really tasty Cheeseburger accompanied by excellent french fries (choices separately) and a good bottled beer. Really tasty food that has nothing to do with cheap fast food chains. The surrounding square is also beautiful. Prices more than satisfactory. If you are in the area and are hungry, then give it a try!

Can't understand these positive reviews at all. The meat on the burger was completely unseasoned, gristly and really didn't look tasty. The poutine had a real cheese plate on top that you could hardly eat. The fries were also unseasoned, undercooked and soggy. Seemed like experimenting on yourself in your own kitchen when you come home drunk at night. Sidenote: The place wasn't full, there were only 2 tables occupied.
