Köstliche und kreative Fischgerichte. Ceviche, Fischsuppe und Fischtartar waren ein Genuss. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Tolles Ambiente und sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service.

Leider absolut nix zum satt werden, Preis/Leistung m.E. grenzwertig. Die Ceviche als Hauptgericht war wirklich super lecker, aber die Portionsgröße leider mehr als lächerlich. Und die Misosuppe als Vorspeise war auch lecker, aber die 5€ Aufpreis für das bißchen Fisch darin - naja. Daß ich dann nach Vorspeise plus Hauptgericht noch hungrig von dannen ziehe, trotz noch 2x Weißbrot dazu... Und dass alles zum gehobenen Preis... Tut mir leid, aber meinerseits keine Empfehlung.

Ein wirklich toller Abend mit sehr leckerem Essen, aufmerksamen Service und gemütlichen Ambiente liegt hinter uns. Wir haben sogar ein kleines Schmankerl extra bekommen. Danke!

Was für ein Highlight! Sehr herzlicher Empfang, kleines und schnuckeliges Ambiente. Das Essen war etwas ganz Besonderes – wir haben neue Geschmäcker entdeckt. Der Service war super freundlich, es wurde sogar von sich aus ein Foto von uns gemacht – das erlebt man selten 😊 Rundum ein echter Gaumenschmaus – absolute Empfehlung!

"FANTASTfisch"!!!! Dises Restaurant ist fantastisch. Man kann Fìsch wirklich nicht besser zubereiten/anbieten: frisch, kreativ und geschmacklich sensationell! Die Besitzer, Manuela und Dominik sind ganz offenbar Restaurant/Küchen "Profis", 'hands-on' und 100% Gast & Produkt orientiert. Das Service Personal ist ebenfalls wunderbar: sachkundig, freundlich und natürlich. Ganz klar auch ein Verdienst von Manuela & Dominik. Die Weinkarte ist auch sehr lobenswert - feine Auswahl und wunderbar passend zu den Speisen. Wir können das "Chalet" höchstens empfehlen wenn in Mittenwald oder Umgebung. Die Fahrt mit dem Auto oder Zug (das Restaurant ist direkt neben dem Bahnhof) ist auf jeden Fall die Reise wert! P.S. Das "Platzfisch Bistro" in Partenkirchen (gleiche Besitzer) ist ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert: super Fisch/Gerichte Auswahl zum Mitnehmen oder im Bistro - mit einem Glass Wein oder Champagner.

Platzfisch in Mittenwald ist ein absolutes Juwel und mit Abstand das beste Fischrestaurant, das wir in Bayern besucht haben. Vom ersten Moment an wurden wir herzlich, aufmerksam und freundlich empfangen. Das Personal gab uns das Gefühl, geschätzte Gäste zu sein, nahm sich die Zeit, uns die Speisekarte zu erklären und gab uns durchdachte Empfehlungen, die uns nicht enttäuschten. Wir bestellten eine Kombination aus Tapas und Sushi, und jedes einzelne Gericht war wunderschön angerichtet und voller Geschmack. Die Meeresfrüchte waren außergewöhnlich frisch – etwas, das man so weit vom Meer entfernt nicht immer findet – und mit bemerkenswerter Sorgfalt und Kreativität zubereitet. Das Sushi war perfekt ausbalanciert, mit leuchtenden Toppings und zarten Texturen, die mit denen in Großstädten mithalten können. Die Tapas-Auswahl war ebenso beeindruckend: kunstvoll angerichtet, farbenfroh und voller kräftiger, aber dennoch raffinierter Aromen. Was Platzfisch noch besonderer macht, ist das Engagement für Qualität und Nachhaltigkeit. Ein Großteil des Fisches stammt aus verantwortungsvoller Aquakultur, was nicht nur außergewöhnliche Frische und Rückverfolgbarkeit garantiert, sondern auch einen bewussten Umgang mit den Rohstoffen widerspiegelt. Man kann den Unterschied mit jedem Bissen schmecken. Die Liebe zum Detail zeigte sich in allem, von der Präsentation bis zur Qualität der Zutaten. Jeder Teller wirkte wie ein kulinarisches Kunstwerk, und die Aromen waren ebenso intensiv wie die Optik. Die Kombination aus frischen Meeresfrüchten, raffinierter Zubereitung und makelloser Ausführung machte dieses Essen zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Die Atmosphäre war gemütlich und einladend und passte perfekt zum Charme von Mittenwald. Es ist selten, in Bayern so hochwertige Meeresfrüchte zu finden, und das Platzfisch übertrifft alle Erwartungen. Wenn Sie exzellente Meeresfrüchte, kreative Gerichte und außergewöhnlichen Service schätzen, ist das Platzfisch ein absolutes Muss. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Sehr gute Küche nur leider keinen "warmen" Fisch als Hauptspeise. Sonst alles sehr gut, vorallem der geräucherte Saibling.

Das Chalet Platzfisch ist ein Juwel, das seinesgleichen sucht. Hier stimmt einfach alles, das Ambiente, der hervorragende Service und natürlich die liebevoll zubereiteten Gerichte (das Ceviche der Forelle…überirdisch!). Und das alles bei äusserst moderaten Preisen. Der Umstand, dass ein großer Teil der Gäste Stammkunden sind, erzeugt ein nahezu familiäres Wohlgefühl, das die nachhaltige Erkenntnis manifestiert: Hier will ich unbedingt wieder hin……

Nach einer ausgedehnten Radtour sind wir spontan auf ein Getränk eingekehrt. Wir bestellten dann zusätzlich die Tapas. Es war eine richtige Entscheidung. Die Fisch-Tapas überraschten mit vielen verschiedenen Variationen, die allesamt extrem lecker waren. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Absolut zu empfehlen.

The fish dishes at Platzfisch Chalet are absolutely fantastic – especially the tapas! You can sample a variety of delicious little things. Everything is super fresh and prepared with lots of love. The ambiance is incredibly cozy; you immediately feel at home. And the service is warm, attentive, and simply personable. We're always happy to come back.

Everything was just perfect: from the friendly service to the ambiance to the food. The sushi was simply a dream. Beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. Everything was perfectly balanced, and we've never eaten such good sushi. And what's even better is that it's made from local fish. Keep up the good work! 10 stars!!!!

Inspired by previous reviews, I ordered the tapas and the Pinot Gris. Everything was truly delicious, though not exactly cheap. The service was very pleasant, friendly, unobtrusive, but always there when I wanted to order something.

The tarte flambée is apparently a joke. It costs an unbelievable €19.50, and I saw the dough being taken out of a plastic wrapper. And the Parma ham also comes out of a plastic wrapper. And that's what it tasted like. For that high price, I really expect something different. I absolutely do not recommend it! Response to the owner's reaction: Yes, of course, displeasure, or should I be happy about being taken for a ride? What would you say if you went to a pizzeria and ordered a pizza for €20! and then saw the dough being taken out of a plastic wrapper? It's no different to me (except that at least I would have been full). Of course—especially at such high prices—the dough has to be made yourself; that has nothing to do with hygiene. Your claim that my neighbors also had a tarte flambée is far-fetched; that's simply a lie. Quite the opposite, they agreed with me that the price of the tarte flambée is completely excessive for this quality. And to your point: this seems to be your policy: whenever negative reviews appear, it's always because the customer was having a bad day. But it never occurs to them that something is wrong in your store... I am (apparently) one of the few people who, in these difficult times (I have to work hard for my money), are no longer willing to pay prices that don't match the quality at all.

No Mittenwald vacation is complete without several culinary visits to PLATZFISCH...indescribably delicious trout-based dishes. A superb team, unbeatable in terms of friendliness and service. A chef who conjures up the most amazing dishes...we'll be back next year, and until then, all the best.🍀

The food is exceptional and delicious! The dishes are very exclusive, creative, and lovingly prepared! The service is also absolutely fantastic! Guests are given detailed explanations of how each dish is prepared and which fish was used! We had sushi and fish tapas made with trout, salmon trout, and char. Everything was delicious, imaginatively prepared, and also pleasing to the eye. A reservation is highly recommended.

Excellent food, attentive and warm service, charming interior. The menu isn't very large, but everything we tried (the vast majory of it, over two days) was absolutely delicious. They were also very happy to accomodate alterations (like swapping out a dish on the tapas menu, or serving a starter as an entree).

The Platzfisch restaurant was the culinary highlight of our stay in Mittenwald. Everything was just right here. We received a very friendly welcome and service. The wine list is excellent, with international wines and German wines from the Rheingau region. We tried several, but unfortunately not all of them. We'll have to come back. The fish soup is amazing. A must-try! Followed by the sushi variations… a poem. The ingredients are fine, consistently high quality, and beautifully presented. The high Google rating is more than deserved. Thank you very much. It's a shame we're 640 km apart. We'll be back. Greetings from the Rhineland and the Siebengebirge.

From the very first moment, you sense that hospitality is not just lived here, but celebrated. The kitchen? Top shelf. Every plate a work of art, every bite a piece of heaven. The fish soup – powerful in flavor, finely balanced. The wakame – fresh and perfectly marinated. The tapas from the in-house fish farm! A prime example of quality, craftsmanship, and creativity. A bread basket with a selection of lovingly baked breads – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside – simply to fall in love with. The whole thing was crowned by an elegantly arranged carafe of water, infused with mint, lime, lemon, and orange – not only a visual delight, but also a refreshing accompaniment to the fine Blanc de Noir white wine, which perfectly complemented our dishes. The ambience? World-class. Stylish, cozy, and with an eye for every detail – from the cutlery to the wine cooler to the water glasses. Everything is high-quality, well-thought-out, and harmoniously coordinated. The service? Outstanding. The hosts were attentive, charming, and always present – ​​without ever being intrusive. Orders were served from memory, everything arrived at the right time, and with perfect quality. We have rarely felt so comfortable and welcome in a restaurant. Fish...at its best! We dined here spontaneously today. We were lucky; despite not having a reservation, we found a spot for the two of us in front of the entrance. We were keen to try something, so the very friendly and attentive waitress "persuaded" us to try the tapas. In short: an excellent choice! Trout, salmon trout, and char in various arrangements. Smoked, as ceviche, herring-style, and as tartar – simply a feast for the palate. The combinations of fish with fruits, herbs, and sauces are absolutely harmonious. You can tell that the chef knows and loves his craft. We've never eaten such fantastic fish. And by the way, this seems to be important: the wine list is also excellent! Many thanks to the Platzfisch team, you're doing a truly fantastic job!!!

My family and I can only recommend the Restaurant zum Platzfisch 🐟, as the rich regional fish selection means it is something different from what you are probably used to. We ordered tapas, which was not only beautifully presented, but also tasted very good. I also ordered sushi 🍣, which is very special because it is made from local fish. As a passionate sushi eater, I can only recommend it, as it is something new to eat sushi with regional fish, which tasted excellent and looks beautiful. Finally there was homemade mango sorbet, which was also recommended. All in all, it was a very tasty and lovely evening at Platzfisch, which I personally can only recommend.

And then... the highlight: dinner at 'Platzfisch'! The fish soup: A poem on the palate that makes the name 'soup' seem like a bland placeholder. My wife enjoyed her fish platter, apparently put together directly by Neptune himself. Sensational! Thank you again for this evening, which brought back my faith in Bavarian cuisine.

On the way back from South Tyrol we stopped at Platzfisch based on a recommendation. We have rarely eaten fish so well. High quality, prepared with love. Plus charming, friendly service. We were completely satisfied and can unreservedly recommend the small restaurant with a lot of atmosphere. We'll be back soon.

Ate at Platzfisch for the first time today, I can only say one thing, great. If we're close again, we'll be back immediately. Recommendation 10 stars and more for everything.

I would have expected more... a shame

Our vacation started again last week with a successful evening in Chalet Platzfisch! Everything was fine again. The food was prepared with love and left nothing to be desired. We like to eat a starter and a main course here, but never finish dessert as the portions are very generous. (Unfortunately I don't understand reviews that rate it differently🤷‍♂️). Also the wine list, first-class selected wines, at very reasonable prices! Despite the restaurant being full, the staff were very courteous and relaxed. There was even time to discuss our sushi wishes for our next visit to Platzfisch. We're looking forward to it next meal at Platzfisch.

We can't eat it yet judge, we can only talk about the drinks and the service, both are great. The drinks are freshly mixed and taste like more. The service was nice and quick. On our next visit, we'll look at the menu. :-)

We had dinner at Platzfisch this week. I have to say that I have been here before and found the prices to be high back then. But that's ok if you look at the quality and the quantity. It worked at the time. This time I was extremely disappointed, not to say annoyed! 20€ for a tarte flambée, which is not too big and has little in common with an Alsatian tarte flambée. Apart from the taste and size. We also chose the tapas for two people at €29/person. Quality and taste were right! But the amount was an absolute disgrace!!! There was also a small bowl of white bread. Sorry, but not even my children would have gotten enough of it. If we hadn't had the overpriced tarte flambée with it, we would have gone home with growling stomachs. The last thing I would like to highlight is the underground service. We arrived, had reservations, but no one seemed to care. Then we were seated. After 10 minutes we didn't even have a map. The couple who came in clearly after us (apparently acquainted with the boss) were immediately given the menu and were given direct advice as to which of the three dishes on the menu they should have. We felt absolutely stupid. When we got the card and placed the order, we were only half-motivated. No explanation or recommendation like at the table next door - a shame. For children there is nothing at all except a shrug of the shoulders. At least, just look back and forth for a long time without saying a word: the tarte flambée was specially made without any toppings, only with crème fraîche and served on two boards for the kids. Also only half the price was charged. That was fair. Unfortunately the only thing I can highlight is the taste. Unfortunately, that was the last time.

WOOOOWWWW! An incredibly ingenious combination of local, high-quality or happy fish and Japanese cuisine. Very good wines, espressos and degestivi. All the greatest respect to the courage and love to pull off something like this in this region! 99% of the restaurateurs in this region can take a big leaf out of this and please take a close look and taste it. Thank you for this culinary enrichment!!!! RESPECT to the whole team! PS: If you are into sustainability, you have to take a look at this supply chain or simply taste it. In any case, all I see is love for the animal, the product and the cuisine! Absolutely more than worth it!!!

A small wooden chalet near the train station. Really friendly and courteous service. There is only a very small menu, but also a daily menu. The quality and taste of the dishes are definitely worth the price. That was really tasty. To be recommended without reservation. Reservation is better, the restaurant only has a few tables. Otherwise just take a look.

Small but fine restaurant with stylish furnishings. Rustic and modern at the same time. Very attentive service and incredibly tasty food, recommended for anyone who likes fish and wants to treat themselves to something special.

….to lick the plate….. Are still enthusiastic about the wonderfully cozy chalet character of the inn in Mittenwald, easy to find near the historic train station, with plenty of parking spaces. Now in winter with lots of snow, the inn, the Platzfisch, naturally seems particularly homely. And this is of course topped by the first-class, friendly and very attentive service from the young boss. But now to the plate-licking effect. The fish dishes, from the excellent fish soup to the fish tapas from our own regional farm in the Elmauer Valley, are very high quality, tasty and extremely tasty. There are, among other things, daily recommendations or the menu for great fish dishes as well as an extensive wine list. We recommend a grapefruit spritz as a starter. The right wines, we ordered the semi-dry Kessler Riesling from the Rheingau or, if you prefer a really good light beer from the Mittenwald brewery, are a poem with the fish tappas platter. Overall, the price and performance are right, is our unanimous opinion. We'll definitely be back, once in the summer on a Thursday when local sushi is on offer. Also ich selbst mag leider keinen Fisch. Höchstens mal Tunasandwich von Subway u.co. Meine Frau jedoch....sie hat sich heute eine Sushi Platte gegönnt die es immer nur Donnerstags gibt.
