Pizzeria San Marco in Lübeck

We were in the restaurant in a large group and had our own room. Of course, reservations had been made beforehand and the desired dishes were even listed beforehand so that they did not have to be recorded separately. However, the staff was overwhelmed in every way by the number of guests. It should simply have been pointed out that there was no capacity for so many guests (approx. 40 people). The drinks came after about 80 minutes (!). The first meal came after over 2 hours and then little by little over a period of about 20 minutes. That is beyond reasonable. Communication with guests was a disaster; no greeting from the kitchen, no apology or information. While distributing the food, one of the waiters commented whether they didn't know what they had ordered. Overall, I have never experienced such an unpleasant situation in a restaurant. Some members of our group had their food packed straight away because it was simply too late. When paying with the card, people then asked whether it really wasn't possible to pay in cash, for small amounts. That doesn't exactly show tact after waiting over 2 hours. The food itself was good but not exceptional. What was strange was that the vegetables on the pizza included carrots. In addition, the vegetables such as zucchini were apparently not baked in the oven before being put on the pizza. So it was a bit muddy.

One of the older pizzerias in Lübeck, very well located next to the cinema and at the beginning of Mühlenstrasse. Reservation recommended. Prices acceptable, in contrast to many colleagues who just rip off people. Like everywhere else, the lack of staff dictates speed, but here that doesn't matter: family hospitality.

Food, prices and location are great. But the service here leaves a lot to be desired. Last time our reservation was messed up. There were only 2 waiters there. So it took a while until we were placed. Our table was very wobbly, we stabilized it ourselves with paper. After the food was cleared away, no one showed up. We sat dry for an hour. We then went to the counter to pay. They complained there that we wanted to pay by card. One of the rare times I skipped tipping.

There seems to be a lack of staff, but then you just have to block some tables... We had reserved for 8 people, but there wasn't a table for 8 in sight, so we asked the waiter... no response the first time, the second time , grumpy, yes he would have understood, we just have to push tables together... but they were very dirty, which was cleaned up about 10 minutes later by pushing the dirt from the table onto our clothes... then gave it there was the menu and we ordered the drinks... okay so far, except that the coffee, which was expressly ordered as white and sweet, was missing sugar and cream and had to be ordered later... then we ordered the pizzas, obviously there was no time, I had to put the bases in the oven briefly before topping, which meant the pizza was soggy in the middle. The seafood was homeopathic, barely noticeable. Due to the long wait for the food, I ran out of drinks and ordered more when the pizza was delivered... I had long since run out of pizza and still no drink! So I shouted to the waiter across several tables that I was still waiting for my drink and the answer I received was: "Come down again"...

San Marco, Lübeck – A visit with mixed feelings... The San Marco restaurant in Lübeck offers a central location in the city center, which has both advantages and disadvantages. Parking is limited due to the location, but the restaurant is within walking distance. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff is not optimally trained, which is probably due to the current staff shortage. Nevertheless, I would have liked more commitment and professionalism in an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, the food itself did not meet the expectations one would have of Italian cuisine. The quality of the dishes, especially the pizzas, has declined. In the past, pizzas were prepared with more love and care. The remaining dishes were also not convincing in terms of taste, which is a shame. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reduce the menu and focus more on the quality of the food offered. I am sure that guests would be willing to pay a higher price for higher quality food. Overall, the visit to San Marco leaves mixed feelings. It remains to be hoped that the restaurant will return to its roots and be able to impress again in the future with the quality that once distinguished it.

The Pizzeria San Marco is a real insider tip! The pizzas are simply unbeatable: crispy base, delicious toppings and always fresh toppings. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is attentive and friendly. I always enjoy coming here!

The food and prices are really good these days but unfortunately children are annoying for the staff, which I find very unfortunate for Italian culture. The staff is very very bad! The waiters are in a bad mood and make you wait until you place your order. In the end we had to wait 30 minutes until we got the bill. To pay we were asked to go to the checkout. There the unfriendly waiter preferred another customer in front of me (very disrespectful!). Apparently this restaurant makes so much money that the humanity and friendliness no longer has any value. Too bad. Everything used to be better there.

We came to dinner unannounced with 9 people. Very nice hospitality. Reasonable prices, quality very good. We will definitely be repeat offenders.

Intendiamoci, non si tratta di un ristorante stellato dove potrete mangiare delizie inventate dallo chef ma piuttosto di un onesto ristorante Italiano dove poter mangiare dei piatti della cucina Italiana cucinati in modo rispettoso della tradizione e ad un prezzo ragionevole. Insomma considerati gli standard dei ristoranti Tedeschi e dei ristoranti Italiani all’estero si tratta di un buon ristorante ed un ottima scelta se siete nei paraggi. Io certamente ritornerò

Here again after a long time. We put our own food together. Lamb fillet with Gorgonzola sauce and salad. Instead of potatoes and vegetables there was grilled anipasti and bread. There was nothing to complain about at all. Plenty and the taste was totally fine. The bread homemade. Extremely satisfied, we left the hospitable place towards the cinema. If there was anything negative at all, it was the room temperature. Overall, 5 stars are appropriate for me. We've always been here, but after years it's time for a new review. Great weather and I wanted to make a reservation. Outdoors with a view of the water. In fact, they made it possible. My guests arrived 30 minutes late. Traffic jam. The innkeeper endured it calmly. The food came quickly and was worth all the effort. The fillet is tender and tastes great. My lamb fillet was also plentiful, well seasoned and of good quality. There were also delicious vegetables. The shrimp looked delicious. Too difficult for me. They were in the shell. We were all very satisfied. The price-performance ratio is remarkably good for today's times. It's really worth going here. A great idea on a warm summer evening.

Really, I would have expected something different here I was here and ordered a pizza. The cheese was runny and the pizza wasn't cooked through. Simply underground. One of my worst restaurant experiences in a long time: I had dinner at San Marco with my mother and sister a few weeks ago. The visit started with the drink order when I received a glass of ginger ale, which tasted as if the bottle had been left open for 3 days. After a long struggle as to whether I should bring this up, I decided to mention it to the waiter. I politely informed him that there was no carbonation. The waiter accepted without a word! the glass itself and disappeared without a reaction. When he came back after about 10 minutes, the glass was a little full and he put it down with the remark: “That's a really good variety, that's just how it tastes.” After he left, a lady from the next table spoke to me and said: “Don’t worry about it, I think he’s having a bad day today, he was the same way with us”. For dinner, me and my sister both had a piece of meat, which came with bread, potatoes and seasonal vegetables. After waiting a good 45 minutes for our food, another waiter brought our food. I looked at my plate and, when the waiter wished us a good appetite, asked if the potatoes would come extra. He replied that unfortunately the potatoes had run out. ???? I don't know if I'm being a bit too nitpicky, but if something from the dish you ordered is no longer there, then you go back to the guest, tell them about it and ask if it stays the same or if it should be something else should. So we sat in front of our plates and the other waiter said “the chef made more vegetables for that”. I wasn't terribly hungry, but the portion of meat and vegetables didn't fill me up. After we had eaten, I wanted to tell the waiter again, who just replied that the kitchen hadn't told him beforehand, that the potatoes were out, that just happens. I explained to him in a friendly manner that I would definitely understand if the calculation didn't quite work out. But what I find incomprehensible is that you don't go back to talking to the guest, but simply present them with a fait accompli by serving the incomplete dish. The waiter apologized and I said that we would be happy to pay and I hope that they could at least do something about the price. But no, my sister paid a whopping €26 for the piece of meat (very shaky and rather Aldi quality) and some vegetables. No discount, no offer for a dessert or coffee drink on the house. This disappointed me so much that I have now written this review. We don't know whether the waiter acted on his own initiative and did not communicate our displeasure about the missing side dish to the restaurant management, but this behavior simply ruined the end of a lovely family day and left me very disappointed. We will no longer eat at San Marco.

Unfortunately the service and the cuisine are very poor. Since we've been eating here for years, it's particularly noticeable to us. My wife and I ordered spaghetti dishes and waited for 3/4 hour. While we were waiting, we noticed different waiters walking around the restaurant with two dishes that probably couldn't be assigned. Our waiter wasn't there during that time. When we got the stray plates the food was cold. My spaghetti was already dry and my wife's dish was too salty. We complained about that and the plates went back into the kitchen. After five minutes the food came back and was steaming. I was missing 1/3 of the portion!!! And my wife's dish was pretty runny!!! You can imagine what was done in the kitchen afterwards... In addition, the second beer that was ordered during the long waiting time was only at room temperature. Someone must have forgotten to pre-cool the barrel 🙈 But there was no apology whatsoever.

Tortellini El Forno was served with the fake tortellini (stuffed with spinach). Unfortunately the sauce had no taste at all. The pizza bread as a starter (dough) was unfortunately also an absolute disappointment.

Absolute disappointment, never again. There were 8 of us and we had reserved a table inside by phone the day before. When we got there on time there was no more space because, according to the staff, it was getting too cold for other guests outside and so they moved to the restaurant. Why make reservations at all if it is handled so inconsistently? We have never experienced such poor customer service before. It's nice that there are other Italians in Lübeck. Unfortunately, the review couldn't be posted without a star, even though it would be justified.

We had a pretty tasty meal here and you can't say anything about the price-performance ratio. Unfortunately, the service fell by the wayside, they obviously tried to be nice, but the stress that the waiters had was passed on 1 to 1 to the guests. Sometimes internal instructions were shouted across the guest room. In addition, the toilets were, well, not exactly clean. My cocktail, Sex on the Beach, was also rather carelessly prepared and presented, but my partner's looked pretty good. Both tasted good! All in all, it's okay for a delicious meal, but not so suitable for staying for a longer period of time.

Went to the restaurant for the first time yesterday. The cards were brought to us quickly. The Calabria pizza we ordered was undercooked and all the ingredients fell down, so the pizzas were very watery. The glasses were very scratched. Not even the glasses that are given away on the street are that broken. The waiter's behavior was a complete disaster. When we wanted to pay, he asked the two of us "do you have cash?" after we already said that we would like to pay in cash. He then told us “come with us!!” . He could have come to the table with the device. All in all it was a total disaster and an outrage that I can't even put into words. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!! NEVER GO AGAIN!!

The price-performance ratio of the dishes is really great. However, the service falls by the wayside. Our reservation for 20 people was forgotten and we were ignored for the first few minutes when we entered the restaurant. We then had to wait 45 minutes before we could even order a drink. We repeatedly drew attention to ourselves and were always put off. When one of our children wanted to order their own food, the only annoying comment was that they "don't have time for that". If you want to eat cheaply and well, this is the place for you. However, if you want to spend a nice evening with friends or family there, you should Better choose another restaurant.

Sono stata da San Marco con un gruppo di amici tedeschi e stranieri. Alcuni hanno ordinato da mangiare e altri, come me, solo da bere. L‘atmosfera é stata fin da subito un po' ostile ma abbiamo comunque potuto trascorrere una serata tranquilla. Al momento del pagamento il cameriere non mi ha permesso di pagare il mio drink con carta di credito. Ha aggiunto con toni molto ostili che in Italia avrei pagato in contanti (cosa assolutamente non vera) e che, mentre in Italia i soldi non hanno valore, in Germania un valore ce l‘hanno e avrei dovuto pagare in contanti. La conversazione é continuata con altre "battute/offese". Sconvolta ho cercato una banconota nel mio borsellino e gliel‘ho data. Il cameriere non mi ha ripetuto il prezzo del drink, non ho potuto scegliere quanta mancia dare. É stata un‘esperienza terribile, come si possono offendere dei clienti italiani in un ristorante italiano? Ovviamente non ci tornerò mai più.

Food and prices are great. The service can be expanded. The waiters always leave quickly and don't come back, you always have to call them if you want something. Their attention leaves much to be desired.

When we visited, we were handed the card almost immediately. Our drinks and food came in a reasonable time frame. The bruscetta was on fresh toasted bread with delicious tomatoes. Pizza was also hot and tasty. The only thing that was a bit annoying was that it was somehow very dark in the store. This restaurant has now improved significantly from what it was a few years ago.

Zum Glück haben uns die zum Teil doch sehr negativen Bewertungen (vor allem den Service betreffend) nicht von einem Besuch im San Marco abgehalten. Wir waren mit dem Service rundum zufrieden, die Küche war schnell und unsere Pizzen waren alle lecker. Vielleicht bekommt man hier nicht die ausgefallensten Gerichte der Stadt, aber dafür gute, bodenständige Küche zu vernünftigen Preisen.

Wir waren gestern Abend zum wiederholten Mal im San Marco essen. Zuletzt im Dezember 2023, dort haben wir leider schon ziemlich lange auf unser Essen warten müssen. Na gut, Weihnachtszeit haben wir uns gedacht: wir probieren es noch einmal. :) Als die Bedienung uns die Karten brachte, fragten wir, ob wir schon Getränke bestellen können. Die Bedienung antwortete: nein und ging. Wir 4 lachten und dachten er sei lustig drauf. Kurze Zeit später kam er wieder und wir bestellten. Die Vorspeise war super lecker. Dann kam der Hauptgang und zwei Personen am Tisch bestellten noch ein Getränk. Bevor unser Freund überhaupt etwas bestellen konnte, war die Bedienung weg. Als er die Cola und die Spezi an den Tisch brachte, bestellte unsere Freundin eine Rhababerschorle. Die Bedienung fragte nicht einmal, ob der Herr (dessen Getränk leer war!!!) auch noch etwas trinken möchte. Die Bedienung war so schnell weg, selbst ein: Entschuldigung hörte der Herr nicht. Nun ja: die Rhababerschorle schmeckte nicht. Abgestanden und alt. Nicht schlimm dachten wir. Reklamieren und dann gibt es eine Neue. Die Bedienung kam und nahm das Getränk. DAS WARS! Für unsere Freunde gabs leider keine Getränke. Haben dann unsere Cola und Spezi mit den Beiden geteilt. Danke für diese Top Bedienung im San Marco! Grüße gehen raus an den Herren, der wohl auf dem Sprung war und einen sehr schlechten Tag hatte. Das Essen war wirklich wie immer sehr lecker und die Preise super. Für uns war’s nun allerdings das letzte Mal dort.🤝

The food was very tasty . My wife got the wrong one, but she ate it anyway because she didn't want to throw it away. It still tasted good and why throw it away... the waiter visited us four times...give us a card, take the order, bring the food and pay. While eating you could hear someone apparently clearing the plates of leftover food, which was super annoying. Personally, I find the atmosphere too dark.

We used to enjoy being here, but have totally lost it. Had ordered a table in the front area 1 week before. Went in the pants. The 45, tortellini in minced meat sauce were far dry, no sauce in it. The Gorgonzola steak, at least €23, was covered with a hint of cream sauce, no trace of Gorgonzola. When we complained, the waiter simply said: "Oh, wasn't there enough sauce? It was dry, yes?" When it came to the steak, he said we should have said that it should taste strongly of Gorgonzola, the tasteless sauce is standard. Sorry, it's never been like this, it wasn't the first, but the last steak there. They've lost us as regular guests, but nobody cares anyway, the tourists leave enough money behind and won't come back anyway. It's a shame, but there are alternatives. Ciao San Marco

I've been coming here with my family several times on every vacation for almost 20 years now. The food was always very tasty, the service was very courteous and always tried hard. We always like to come and look forward to delicious food.

I ordered a salad to take away. Very disappointing. A lot of strung, just two pieces of sheep's cheese, a pepperoni and a bit of artichoke. The artichoke was very chewy. I know that better from the local.

Oh well... The atmosphere of the restaurant has the charm of a canteen and the noise level has the character of a train station! An unfriendly waiter barked at us as to why we hadn't made a reservation and kept us waiting at the front door for a long time. After we were finally assigned a mini table in a corner, the service took a long time until the drinks we ordered came and forever until the food was served. The taste of the tortellini was very similar to a frozen product and the scampi dish was very watery and boring in taste. By the way, other guests who arrived later were served faster. Overall the visit was... San Marco is a big disappointment and has little to do with typical Italian cuisine. Definitely NOT a recommendation! Mass processing and commerce are the main focus. A pity! Non ti rivedrò mai più!

I was recently at the Pizzeria San Marco in Lübeck and I was absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting, the service was friendly and attentive. But of course the best part was the food. The pizza was outstanding! The dough was nice and thin and crispy, the topping was fresh and tasty. I have rarely eaten such good pizza. The selection of toppings was also large and varied, with something for every taste. The other dishes on the menu all sounded very tempting and I'm looking forward to trying something new on my next visit. The price was absolutely fair for the quality of the food and service. All in all, I can highly recommend Pizzeria San Marco. I will definitely come back.

We chose this pizzeria because of the good reviews here and were not disappointed. Cool atmosphere with Vespa at the entrance, Don Camillo (Fernandel) as a huge screen. Menu with a lot of choice and delicious dishes. We chose pizza and the reviews were exceeded. Many people make the pizzas smaller and smaller because of inflation, but here they were bigger than the plates! The children and us adults really enjoyed them and then there was the surprise. . Only €7 per pizza over lunchtime! Thank you for staying with you.

I'm an old customer there, the store has different hours... but I've remained a loyal customer because I like the cuisine, location (especially outside), and the price is also okay. Now last time I invited Ukrainian refugees, people with their own “story” and grief. Now allow an “old” employee (usually standing at the entrance), forgot his name, not Italian... his completely wrong, really wrong!! Opinion against Ukrainian people, and loudly, and with aggression! He was unstoppable, zero respect for refugees, I'm not even saying that we are his customers and not the other way around 😬😤It would be best for me to run away with my guests, as embarrassed as I was for this person! I'll think twice about whether I'll ever go there.

Unfortunately disappointed. I made a reservation there for a birthday dinner. Normally everyone is probably aware that when you make a reservation you will be greeted and taken to the table. I was ignored at the reception for a while and then approached a waiter myself. I mentioned the reservation and he pointed his finger in one direction and immediately zoomed past me. I finally guided myself to the place. When the others finally arrived and we ordered, it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive and over an hour for the food to arrive. It wouldn't be a problem at all if it was communicated due to high workload, illness, etc. Almost everyone would understand that. There were difficulties understanding the order and the waiter blamed us. Since when do you blame the guest? Unfortunately, during the course of the evening we weren't even asked if we wanted something more to drink and were hardly given the opportunity to speak to a waiter. A friend managed to order an Aperol. She never received this. Another friend had also ordered a calzone without ham, unfortunately there was ham in it. We all agreed that we would not tip. This applies to good service, which was not available. Unfortunately, the highlight was that the waiter finally asked in an unpleasant tone: “That’s unusual here, I don’t get any tips at all”. We explained what had happened to him and his response was that not giving a tip because of a little bit of ham on the calzone was excessive and he had never experienced that before. They are only people and not machines and it was a full evening. We would have really understood if it had been communicated and people had simply apologized. Then we would have liked to give a tip.

Worst restaurant experience in years. At first everything seemed to be going normally; that evening the restaurant was completely booked. My girlfriend and I ordered, nothing to complain about until then... but we actually spent 60 minutes waiting for the food, the waiter kept coming with food for the surrounding tables. When I spoke to the waiter again that we now had to cancel our planned visit to the cinema, I was only briefly told why I didn't let you know beforehand... The food was absolutely fine in terms of price-performance ratio, rustic atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was terribly bad. As soon as we arrived and asked for a table, we were answered with annoyance that we should be out again in an hour. However, the following guests were told that they had to be ready in 1 1/2 hours. We asked for a second wine glass, which was met with a roll of eyes. It was only brought after 10 minutes and another reminder. A soft drink that was ordered was forgotten and it was only brought to us 10 minutes later when we asked. However, this was inedible, stale, warm and non-carbonated. Service as a whole was annoyed and unfriendly, we have rarely experienced something like this.

Outdoors in the summer, indoors in the cold season, always a pleasure. Today mussels in white wine stock and in tomato stock. Both super delicious!!! The service is quick and friendly, the prices are reasonable. We will be back!

The restaurant is in a lovely location, right next to the cinema and the crow pond. However, it is a bit outdated. The dishes are solid and the prices are very family friendly. Although we enjoyed it, you shouldn't expect top-notch cuisine. After going to the cinema you should visit the restaurant first, the ventilation is not optimal. 😉

Very nice, rustic atmosphere, service correct (but not overly friendly, but everything was OK), good P/L ratio and stunningly good mussels in wine sauce!!! For me it was a direct hit and the highlight of the evening.

Unfortunately, our visit with 10 people was rather medium. It was completely overcrowded, the staff tried hard but were completely overwhelmed, which was unfortunately noticeable. Some of the food was spicy, but just edible. The ambience is particularly impressive in summer, one advantage is that dogs are allowed, I found it very interesting.

Very solid Italian restaurant. The food, including pizzas, pasta dishes and starters, tastes good, but is not a taste experience like in Italy, but still delicious. The staff is friendly and the interior is nice and familiar with an Italian flair. I would like to come again!

In my opinion, the value for money is hard to beat. You can have really good, regular Italian food here.

Impossibly unfriendly and disrespectful staff. The waiter should look for another job. The food isn't really recommended either. People complain if you want to pay by card. We have “tested” the restaurant several times over the last few years and each time the result was the same. Never again!!

En la carta, se ofrecen diversas opciones y elegí una pasta al horno que resultó deliciosa. El pan que sirvieron como acompañamiento también estaba exquisito. El local es atractivo y espacioso. El servicio fue sumamente amable; al notar que hablábamos español, se esforzaron por comunicarse de la mejor manera posible.

Ein schönes zentral gelegenes Restaurant , das Essen ist sehr gut , frisch und lecker. Zur Abwertung führt die pampige und sehr unfreundliche Bedienung. Vom ersten Moment an vermiesen der raue und unfreundliche Ton das positive Restauranterlebnis .

Meine Freundin und ich gehen hier öfter essen und es schmeckt jedes Mal super lecker !! Vor allem Preis Leistung ist klasse. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Essen war durchschnittlich, haut einen nicht um, aber zu einem angenehmen Preis. Leider hat mir der Service gar nicht gefallen. Wir mussten eine halbe Stunde warten bis wir bezahlen konnten und dann wurden wir angemault weil wir mit Karte bezahlen wollten.

Wir waren eine größere Gruppe und hatten einen getakteten Stundenplan (nur eine Stunde Zeit), weshalb wir schon Stunden zuvor bestellt hatten, was genau wir essen wollen, damit wir direkt zu dem Zeitpunkt anfangen können, zu dem wir reserviert hatten. Letztendlich hatten wir dank dann doch langer Wartezeit im Restaurant nur noch 20 Minuten zum essen und meine Cannelloni waren so heiß, dass sie 1. nicht direkt essbar waren und 2. definitiv nicht schon vorher zubereitet gewesen sein können. Die Tomatensoße schmeckte nach ungewürzten passierten Tomaten mit geschmacklosem Käse. Die Cannelloni waren okay, das Hackfleisch konnte ich aber nicht wirklich herausschmecken. Ich hatte theoretisch noch Dessert bestellt, von dem ich zwei Bissen nehmen konnte, bevor wir losmussten. Auch das schmeckte leider nur mittelmäßig (ich hatte das Tartufo). Alles in allem werden wir dort nicht wieder hingehen.

Einfach nur schön Italienisch, Lecker, Sauber Sehr nett.

Schönes Lokal, aber das Essen hat meiner Gruppe nicht geschmeckt, bis auf das Buschetta. Die Servicekraft war sehr unfreundlich. Er hat wahrscheinlich manchmal versucht witzig zu sein, aber wir empfanden es als sehr unhöflich. Des weiterem gab es an dem Abend keine Cocktails. Das fanden wir sehr schade, aber es wird wohl seine Gründe gehabt haben. (Personalmangel o.ä.)
