L'Osteria in Lübeck

Always a great place. We were meeting three friends and had a lot to talk about. We were undisturbed at the round table in the corner next to the bar. The service was very friendly, and the music was turned down at our request.

We've eaten there several times and have always been very satisfied.

We came here with my daughter on our last day of vacation to round off the evening with a delicious pizza. Everything tasted great – both pizza and drinks were really good. However, the lack of staff is clearly noticeable: Upon entering, we were a bit lost until someone finally sat us down. Our waitress was very kind and tried hard, but she was visibly overwhelmed by the busy place. The chairs are typical hard wooden chairs – not broken, but just so uncomfortable that after an hour you really don't sit comfortably anymore. It's not exactly conducive to lingering for long. In summary: The food and friendliness are absolutely fine, but due to the lack of staff and the lack of comfortable seating, this is more of a place for a quick, tasty dinner than a long, cozy evening.

I love everything about this place, I eat here more often than at home!

Very, very friendly service, Pizza was delicious as usual at L'Osteria. At lunchtime, however, the lunch menu isn't handed out automatically; you have to ask. The bosses at the top have told the waitresses not to hand out the menus. :/ The noisy main street is annoying when sitting outside.

It was a very tasty meal of the usual quality. However, the noise level was at times enormous. It was difficult to entertain many people.

We went to HL Innenstadt for dinner on Saturday. The bread, appetizers, and pizzas were all incredibly delicious. We had a great evening with a super attentive waitress. He immediately noticed when the drinks were empty. The noise level was quite high, though.

Expensive food, lots of dough and little seasoning, and they make you wait for a free table if they don't know you. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby that are better than this one.

Unfortunately, sitting outside is very noisy due to the location, and the metal chairs are so heavy and loud. No seat cushions :(. The food and service were AMAZING! The restrooms were top-notch. We'd love to come back next time!

Like at another restaurant in the chain in a different town, the food here was unfortunately only mediocre. On top of that, the staff were sloppy! Since the pizzas are about twice the size of the plates, you're given paper placemats to use as coasters. In my case, they used one already used by a neighboring table. Very unhygienic!

Yesterday I visited this lovely restaurant on the Untertrave in Lübeck for the first time, and one thing really caught my eye: the friendly, brown-haired waitress, whose genuine smile, positive charisma, and pretty green eyes created a great atmosphere. I've rarely seen such patience and ambition. Absolutely fantastic service, I'd happily return! The food was also 👍🏼

I traveled all the way from Magdeburg to experience Luigi's legendary service, and my expectations were far exceeded. Some people pay good money to laugh for half an hour at a comedy club, but here it's included in the price. 10/10 Theme Restaurant Mashallah, kiss your heart, Luigi

Horrible! Rude service, and I got ice in my prosecco. When I said I'd rather not have it, I was yelled at and told that it was standard fare and on the menu. I checked the menu, and it wasn't even there, because it shouldn't be. Then we couldn't order pizza anymore, and the plate and cutlery that had just been brought were taken away.

Service is really terrible. No one greats you when you come in. I sat for 30 mins waiting for my pizza. After I finished nobody cleared my plate. Nobody asked how the food was. Normally L’Osteria is quite good but this one in Lübeck is to be avoided.

Losteria as you know and expect. Delicious as always.

All in all, perfect. If the kitchen had packaged the rest of our pizza better, it would have given it a full star rating. 😉👍

The restaurant was moderately busy around 3:30 p.m. on a weekday. The waiter assigned to my table carried the food to other tables, otherwise he stood around. Despite my hand signals, he didn't respond. After 15 minutes, I left the restaurant empty-handed. I've never experienced this kind of "service" at this chain before. Not recommended in Lübeck!

I spent two days in Lübeck. And if I want pizza, I only eat at L'Osteria Restaurant. I had pizza on the first and second day. The pizza tasted good, as always. But unfortunately, the Coke was still carbonated on both days. The first time, I didn't tell the waiter. The second time, I did. The waitress was very friendly. I'd be happy to come back.

The food we ordered arrived after an hour. The drinks arrived after half an hour, after repeated requests. We didn't like the food. The tuna pizza had a bit of tuna in the middle.

The pizzas are huge and delicious. It's great that you can choose two halves with different toppings and have them shared. Today, the waiter recommended the mushroom pizza from the specials menu—thank you very much.

A visit there is a tradition on summer vacations. We not only love the food at Losteria, but especially the attentive and courteous service at this branch. 👍🏻 Children and adults alike will find something to their liking there. Unfortunately, after it got a bit cooler outside in the evening, there were only a few blankets left.

Located on the main road and therefore not very quiet. The food is excellent and plentiful.

It was very busy on a Sunday evening, but we had a reservation. It was correspondingly loud both inside and outside. The service was overwhelmed and couldn't even manage all the tables. The pizzas are good; I had a lasagna, nothing special, and I wouldn't go there again.

We ate at l'osteria on a Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and there were only two servers. While they were friendly when they were at the table, they were completely overwhelmed by the number of guests. We didn't get our drinks until after the food had already arrived, and we actively asked for them.

We spontaneously visited this L'Oseria branch today because we're already familiar with the food and atmosphere from other cities and really like it. Even without a reservation, we got a seat for four without having to wait long. (Saturday, 5:00 PM / 2 adults / 2 children) It was very busy, as it was holiday season and there was an event downtown. We were served by a young lady with dark hair (I think it was the manager). She was quick-witted and entertained us adults and the kids. She gave us great advice on food and drinks, and she was always available for any further questions or requests. We were absolutely positively impressed by her calm and friendly manner, even though the place was packed. The food and drinks were perfect, as always for L'Oseria! The pizza and pasta were hot and well-topped and seasoned. The drinks were cool and fresh. Many thanks to the fantastic service!! A tip from me for eating out in Lübeck!

All of this is constructive criticism so they can improve in the future. We came here for the first time since we're from Leipzig. The food was okay. We ordered lasagna and pasta carbonara. The carbonara was okay, and the portion was large. The lasagna wasn't very good. I've eaten at this restaurant chain before, and this time it was very burnt. The bottom was hard and burnt, but it was still edible. The Coca-Cola wasn't cold and was still flat. The person who served us seemed stressed, but the restaurant wasn't busy. She was somewhat disrespectful. After eating, we ordered a tiramisu, and the waiter who served us that time was friendly, but forgot our tiramisu order. Half an hour later, the previous waiter came back to ask if everything was okay. When we told him we had ordered a tiramisu, he rudely said, "There's nothing in the system here," and showed us his order entry machine in front of us. At that point, we told him we didn't want dessert anymore and wanted to pay. Then he came with the bill and asked us when we paid. He said, "Do you only pay for what you consume?" We said yes, no tip. It was an unpleasant moment. We didn't want to leave a tip because the service was rude and aggressive, not pleasant at all. We waited so long for our food that in the end, dessert didn't arrive, and the food wasn't entirely okay. We paid for what we consumed and left. I don't think I'll return to this place. They can't expect you to leave a tip if they serve you poorly and forget your orders.

The food at L'Osteria was as expected; everything was fine. The waiter was very passive-aggressive toward all the guests, not just us. He took our order quickly and never contacted us again. We had ordered dessert from another colleague, which never arrived. When we started to look annoyed, the waiter asked if everything was okay. I said we'd been waiting 30 minutes for dessert, and he immediately asked, "Who's waiting for? Only I'm allowed to take orders; it's not in the system." We were getting in a hurry and immediately asked for the bill. Both my partner and I have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and always tip, but the waiter aggressively asked us again if we just wanted to pay the full amount. The whole experience was extremely unpleasant. I would not recommend it.

Avoid this place!!! Disgraceful service. Ten of us were seated at a large table. After 15 minutes, a waiter came over and greeted us with, "You're still sitting here." We left after that; the waiters were the worst!

Having been impressed by the restaurant in Hamburg at the Fischmarkt, we tried the Lübeck location today and ordered pizza and pasta for our main course. The side salad was rather unappealing, and I wouldn't have eaten the radishes again. The pizza (quite greasy) was served with the wrong topping despite repeated requests, and the wait was very long. With three children under three years old in the evening, it was a challenging experience. It was very noisy and windy on the street, and feeding the baby right on the sidewalk wasn't very inviting. We'll choose a different place to eat next time we visit Lübeck.

Pros: Nice location and huge pizza. Cons: They overcharged me by over 50% and do not show the itemised bill and only after I paid they showed me the itemised bill. It took more than 15 minutes to sort out and refunded the next day.

Frozen pizzas passed off as artisanal – worthy of complaint. Terrible experience. We ordered three pizzas: Margherita, Rustica, and Quattro Formaggi. In fact, they served us three identical Margheritas with ingredients placed randomly on top. The base is clearly a frozen pizza, the kind you buy at the supermarket for €2. The Rustica is Margherita with a couple of slices of tomato on top. The Quattro Formaggi? Same story, with a few pieces of cheese scattered around. Zero care, zero quality, zero respect for the customer. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to serve frozen pizzas while passing them off as fresh. Not recommended in every way.

So, nothing can be said about the food. The pizza is excellent and the salads delicious too. However, if you pay by card, you should definitely ask for the bill. The waiter simply added a €5 tip to the bill. If we hadn't asked for the bill, it would never have been noticed. For €90, he probably thought the €5 wouldn't be noticed. This should be checked out generally with waiters. It seems to be a specific tactic... and not just with us.

Delicious as always, but unfortunately I couldn't redeem my Amore hearts and didn't receive any additional ones.

We went out to eat with 8 people. 6 dishes arrived at the same time, the other 2 dishes only arrived after everyone else had finished eating. We ordered 3 Sprites and 3 waters (the tap was broken), but we got a Fanta instead. The restrooms were abysmally dirty, an absolute shock. HUGE DISGUSTING

Great food and atmosphere as in any L’Osteria. Good location by the waterfront however service was not up to standard. Waiter short and rude. Inferred that we were pronouncing Italian menu items incorrectly when he was in fact mis-pronouncing them himself in German instead of Italian.

We ordered drinks and waited for about 20 minutes. We asked the waiter where our drinks were, to which he became rude and didn't even let us order food. Rudely sent us to another place.

The L'Osteria chain is a good concept. It's equally good everywhere. I have nothing to complain about the food, except for the fact that they don't have a wood-fired oven. Okay, you could have the Spianata Piccante Salami. But otherwise, the pizzas are delicious. We were here with international guests, and they were thrilled. Our group also criticized the service, but I don't agree. It's not a luxury Italian restaurant where I'm greeted by liveried waiters and pay for them. On the contrary, I found the service to be able to handle our very hectic group. So why only four stars? It's very loud in all the restaurants (due to the concept). You can't have a quiet conversation. Half stars aren't possible, so it's just four. Nevertheless, I can happily recommend the restaurant! Even with large groups.

On August 9, 2025: Not open until midnight, not even close. We were turned away at 10:35 PM. They said they had nothing left to offer, not even drinks.

Unfortunately, it was very loud. The food was good, but the pizzas were a bit light on toppings. We had two pizzas, both of which were huge. We were wondering why they had put the large, round placemats on them. The taste was okay, though. The service, a friendly gentleman, even though there were so many staff shortages today, always had a quick joke ready and a smile on his face despite everything.

Two hours of delivery, and the €30 food arrives cold. Simply miserable. The manager didn't care.

We returned after a long time and were pleasantly surprised. The service was truly fantastic, the food was exceptionally good (pasta with chanterelle mushrooms and vitello), and everything was good value for money. Even the drinks were fairly priced. Only the noise level dampens the atmosphere. And a quick tip: more comfortable chairs might lead to increased sales 😉

After our meal, the waitress forgot about us. She came back 20 minutes later and said, "Oh, I must have forgotten you." The noise level there was unbearable. Overall, a disappointment.

We're from Bavaria, and L'Osteria feels like home ❤️❤️❤️. Delicious food everywhere, and friendly service. The same goes for this place.

There was no toilet paper left in the women's restroom, and a broken toilet that was happily splashing away... We had to wait over 30 minutes before our order was even taken. The food was good.

Relaxed, pleasant atmosphere, very cozy, even the kids had a great time! The server was also very friendly! The pizza was huge and nice and crispy, delicious.

We ended up here because the other restaurants were no longer serving (9 p.m. in August!) And we loved it. The pizzas are huge and the pasta is very good. A good address

I was there with a friend for a relaxing afternoon

The service is particularly outstanding! We were there as a large group (20+ people), and the reservation and planning process was extremely open and helpful! The evening was also extremely accommodating and friendly! Even when the restaurant was very busy, the staff were very attentive and calm. The food was also excellent, as always!

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat at all or weren't served. On a sunny day (Monday, July 28th, 4 p.m.), we (2 people + dog) visited the restaurant in question. The outside area was not very busy, so we looked for a shady spot with our dog and sat down at a table for 6 people (more like 4). We sat for a while and made our meal choices when a waiter came to our table. He didn't exactly friendly point out to us that this was a table for six people and that we should go to the next table for four. Unfortunately, all the other tables were in the sun. We told him that we couldn't sit in the blazing sun with the dog. He refused to serve us at this table, using an argument that seemed completely absurd to us: if 6 people came, he wouldn't have any room.... We then left the restaurant. Sorry, they apparently don't need any customers there. We will definitely not be visiting this restaurant again.

The food was delicious, fresh, and hot. It took a while for the food to arrive at our tables, but it was also quite busy, so it wasn't a problem. We had a great time, the food was delicious, and the service was friendly and courteous. If we're ever in Lübeck again, we'll be happy to come back.

Day of the week: Sunday Time of day: Lunch Textbook service desert. Arrived and were left standing at reception without greeting. Service staff walked past you several times without any reaction. It was obvious they didn't want to be spoken to. Then, after 10 minutes, they were given a table. All the employees seemed stressed, and one lady (shift manager?) had every reason to be. Loudly scolded a colleague because a table had supposedly been swapped for a reservation. There seemed to be too few service staff, and all the employees on site seemed overwhelmed. Food was okay. Too bad.

After waiting half an hour for our drinks, our pizza finally arrived after an hour and a half upon request. Mushrooms were also missing from the pizza; our last visit to L'Osteria.

Absolutely disappointing. We waited a long time for a table with two children at lunchtime, even though the place was only one-third full. Eventually, we just sat down. Then we had to be quite pushy in order to finally be served – the waiters just walked by. We were offered bread with our salad, but none was brought. The children weren't even given placemats – let alone art supplies. They didn't even ask if everything was okay. Simply terrible!! The waiter didn't even come near our table. When paying, my husband said the bread hadn't arrived and just got a bored shrug: Hand me the money and goodbye. Thank you + never again.

This is a really nice shop, with a beautiful view right here on the Trave River. I have to mention one employee by name. The good man's name is Niclas. He's genuinely nice and accommodating. A great man, keep it up ❤️

Poorly run restaurant. It's the customer's fault if the waiter can't listen. The pizza came back remade. It was worthless for an osteria.

We received a very warm welcome right from the start, and our online request for a table at the edge was promptly accommodated. This meant our dog had plenty of space and wasn't in anyone's way. The food was good, and the service staff, despite the restaurant being full, were all very friendly and relaxed.

A beautiful and varied menu, a lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. Definitely recommended!

For two people always 1 pizza and 1 salad

As always, the food and drinks were consistently high quality. Although the restaurant was absolutely packed due to the summer, weekend, and holiday season, our waitress was extremely attentive and very friendly. Thank you very much!

Good service, very punctual, and a huge, delicious pizza! Wow! The pasta portions could be a bit larger in my opinion. But since I had a pizza, I can give it 5 stars with a clear conscience.

Very disappointing experience – never again! I visited this restaurant today and was unfortunately completely disappointed. The service was extremely poor – inattentive, slow, and unfriendly. What was absolutely unacceptable, however, was that several employees, especially the manager, were openly standing around, picking their noses, right in front of the guests! This is not only unhygienic, but simply disgusting. I couldn't even finish my meal – I immediately felt sick and vomited. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I truly cannot recommend this place to anyone. Hygiene, service, and professionalism are all completely lacking here.

Our visit today for a family dinner was unfortunately a mistake. After sitting at the table for about 15 minutes, spending several more minutes trying in vain to get a waiter to come to our table and order drinks, while several other people were having lively conversations with the three young ladies at the next table, we left empty-handed. What a shame. We were probably the wrong target audience. My conclusion: Not recommended for families with children.

Extremely poor service! We understand that a busy restaurant naturally means some waiting time. However, when groups that arrived both shortly after and well after us started receiving their food before we did, we were left feeling very disappointed.

A very nice restaurant with a great location right on the Trave River in the heart of Lübeck. The atmosphere is pleasant and lively, with lots of customers and a lovely outdoor area. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. The tables weren't cleared promptly, and the floor wasn't completely clean in places. Our pizza was unfortunately a bit dry and didn't taste particularly good – but it was very large! Maybe it just wasn't a good day in the kitchen. Nevertheless, the place is really nice, and we would definitely like to come back. Next time, things will definitely go better!

A great restaurant. The pizza has a diameter of 45 cm and was simply delicious. The base was nice and thin, and the crust was crispy. Overall, we were very satisfied and can highly recommend this restaurant. The service was very friendly, the ambiance was excellent, and the restrooms were also very clean.

I ordered a salad. Everywhere they bring bread or a baguette to go. But not here. Well, at least I ate a lot of arugula. The place is not bad, but not top either.
