Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Schärfe genau richtig. Der Laden war allgemein authentisch. Allerdings konnte man sehr vieles verschiedener bestellen. Das Personal war freundlich und hat stets ein Lächeln im Gesicht gehabt.

Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Lübeck! Das Essen ist immer frisch und lecker :). Es gibt auch viele vegetarische und vegane Gerichte. 04.07.26: War heute wieder im Tipasa und war wieder einmal total begeistert vom Aloo Gobi Masala!

Wir warteten 1,5 Stunden auf mittelmäßiges Essen.

Halleluja! Was für ein Gaumenschmaus. Ich glaube, das war das beste indische Essen, was ich je hatte. In Lübeck auf jeden Fall. Wir saßen mit einer großen Gruppe oben/hinten (früher war da mal eine Kinderecke). Bitte sagt Bescheid, wenn ihr so überhaupt keine Schärfe vertragt, denn etwas Grundschärfe haben so ziemlich alle Speisen. Damit darf man beim Inder auch durchaus rechnen, finde ich. Aber die Sauce sind wirklich zum niederknien lecker buttrig, weich, würzig.. einfach rund. Und auch der Reis sieht toll aus und kommt mit einer leichten Zimtnote an den Platz. Rundherum gelungen, da komme ich gern wieder. 😍

Das Essen, zumindest die Pizza, ist in Ordnung. Nichts Besonderes, aber gut. Die Wartezeiten waren allerdings alles andere als optimal und betrugen über eine Stunde (wohlgemerkt knapp 45 Minuten). Zugegeben, es war gegen 17:30-18:15 Uhr, außerhalb der Stoßzeiten dürfte es also deutlich besser sein. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der gemütliche kleine Außenbereich, der selbst zur erwähnten Hauptzeit überraschend wenig besucht ist. Insgesamt ist das Essen wohl einigermaßen akzeptabel, aber ich kann es nicht uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Indisches Restaurant in einer kleinen Seitenstraße, das von außen leicht zu übersehen ist. Innen ist es jedoch überraschend groß, und das Personal ist freundlich. Die Zubereitung hat etwas länger gedauert, dafür hat das Essen wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Portion war eher normal bis etwas klein, sodass man für den Preis etwas mehr erwarten könnte. Insgesamt ein gelungenes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen.

Das indische Essen hier ist jedes Mal unglaublich lecker. Hier wird man auch noch satt von den Portionen und der Service ist ebenfalls jedes Mal super.

Ja, es sind einige Ecken schon in die Jahre gekommen, einige Einrichtungen abgenutzt, nicht alles auf Hochglanz poliert und der Biergarten nicht sonderlich einladend. Aber das Essen ist spitze, die Bedienung superfreundlich und die Atmosphäre einfach charmant.

Ein sehr leckeres Restaurant mit freundlicher Bedienung

Das Tipasa ist ein echtes Familienrestaurant, weil für jeden Geschmack was dabei ist. Ich esse immer indisch, denn das finde ich hier unglaublich lecker und authentisch. Ich bestelle gerne schärfer als normal. Der Reis alleine ist schon herrlich duftig und würzig. Die Gerichte selbst sind ein Genuß. Das Personal ist freundlich. Sitzgelegenheiten gibt es ganz verschiedene: vom Zweiertisch in der Fensternische über Sofaplätze, große Familien- oder Gruppentische bis zum etwas lieblosen, aber charmanten Aussenbereich finden alle ein passendes Plätzchen.

Wir waren heute zu zweit spontan im Tipasa, das meine Mutter noch aus ihrer Jugend in Erinnerung hat. Das Essen war für die Qualität überraschend günstig und sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Ich war besonders glücklich, denn als Veganer:in bekommt man leider häufig eher lieblose Gerichte serviert. Ganz anders waren da heute für mich die Gemüsebällchen! Ich hätte echt am liebsten den Teller abgeleckt. So ein unglaublich witziges und abgerundetes Essen hab ich nicht erwartet. Selbst das Dressing für die Salatbeilage war extrem gut abgeschmeckt. Wer auch immer im Tipasa am Herd steht, hat sich wirklich ein dickes Lob verdient 🥰

Es war wirklich alles echt gut.

Moin aus Hamburch, ich war mit meinem Neffen vor 1 Woche mal wieder, nach langer Zeit, im Tipasa. Von 1991 bis 1995 habe ich selber dort gekellnert. Das nur nebenbei. Also das Ambiente, der superfreundliche Service, und das Essen haben mir, wie vor 30 Jahren, immernoch richtig gut gefallen. Schade das ich einen so weiten Weg nun fahren muss, um nochmal soooo nett bedient zu werden. Es gibt noch Guten Service. Eine Adresse davon ist das epochale Tipasa. Liebe Grüße Christian Bernet

Das ist DIE Karte für jegliche Veranstaltung/Party etc. hier findet wirklich JEDER etwas. Größtenteils indisch, aber sonst gibt es eigentlich von jeder internationalen Küche etwas. Alles ist super preiswert und geschmacklich toll!

Schönes kleines Restaurant in der Hüxstrasse. Wir hatten Sushi und Bowl. Beides einfach nur super!

Wir waren am Freitagabend zu zweit im Tipasa essen. Erstaunlicherweise war das Lokal fast leer – vor 40 Jahren wäre das undenkbar gewesen, da standen die Leute noch bis in den Gang. Das Essen ist gut und qualitativ solide, allerdings sind die Preise eher im höheren Bereich angesiedelt, was man wohl allgemein der heutigen Zeit zuschreiben muss. Als Beispiel: Früher kostete das Knoblauchbrot mit Soße eine Mark – heute zahlt man für Brot mit Soße rund 5 €. Das zeigt die Preisentwicklung ganz gut. Positiv hervorzuheben ist das Personal: ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich – das macht den Besuch deutlich angenehmer. Insgesamt ein gutes Restaurant mit solider Küche und sehr freundlichem Service.

Am Freitag, 23.01.26: Das Brot wurde mit Schimmel meiner Freundin serviert. Nach Hinweis wurde das selbe Brot wieder serviert - nur der Schimmel war abgeschnitten.

Ein tolles Restaurant 😊 Wir waren das erste Mal im Tipasa und dann gleich mit 24 Personen dort. Obwohl der getrennte Raum an unserem Datum schon belegt war, hat der Inhaber alles möglich gemacht, wodurch wir trotzdem gemütlich beisammensitzen konnten. Durch die große Auswahl findet jeder in der Gruppe das passende Gericht – preislich wunderbar und geschmacklich großartig. So etwas habe ich selten erlebt! Immer wieder gerne 😊

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen. Das Mushroom Mattar Paneer war hervorragend – frisch, aromatisch und perfekt gewürzt. Sehr empfehlenswert!👌🍽️

Ich verstehe wirklich nicht, warum es negative Kommentare über dieses Restaurant gibt. Alles ist einfach perfekt! Das Chicken Curry ist einfach zum Sterben gut – absolut empfehlenswert!👍👍

Das Essen war gut, aber die Portion war eher klein und nicht besonders würzig.

Four of us dined here, and we were very surprised by the size of the appetizers. Luckily, we only ordered two, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to finish! The food was wonderfully seasoned, and the service was very friendly and checked on us every now and then. You get delicious Indian food here for a good price! We'd love to come back :)

First of all: I burned myself badly on a pan right at the beginning, so my mood was naturally a bit dampened 😅 Nevertheless, Tipasa is a great place with a nice atmosphere, good food, and a fair price. I'd be happy to go back—hopefully without getting burned 👍

Ordered chicken breast and received schnitzel. There were four of us, and the food arrived at different times. We had to eat separately. They couldn't bake bread 😆😆😆

We had naan bread, but unfortunately the dips aren't as tasty anymore. We've been coming here for decades, and things have changed dramatically. That's not to say it's a bad thing. Unfortunately, the dips are too bland. We used to come here specifically for the garlic dip or pick something up, but that's over. I also have mayonnaise at home.

We were there for an early dinner. The place was empty, which was good for us. We had to change our minds about drinks, as they were out. My tea was a bit weak, but the waiter corrected it. I had the vegetable casserole with potatoes. Very tasty, but I couldn't finish it all (stomach problems, so no tasty Indian food). The bill took a little longer to arrive, as the place was already very busy. Highly recommended!

The food was very good, the service very attentive!

We went to Tipasa for dinner before 5 p.m. on Whit Sunday. It got increasingly crowded while we were there, so I would recommend making a reservation. The staff greeted us very warmly, and we received friendly and courteous service throughout our visit. The food on offer is varied. We opted for Indian dishes, all of which were delicious. We would eat at Tipasa again anytime and definitely recommend it.

Definitely a good place to go if you are looking for Indian food. Our Chicken Tikka Masala was extra tasty and had a proper spicy touch but not too much. The rice was incredibly well done! We can recommend a visit.

So it was ok. Food actually quite good. Service was rather poor, waited for a long time and was a bit unfriendly.

The food was okay, there were several people in the restaurant, some liked it, others didn't. The service was very poor - inattentive and not very friendly. We all sat with empty glasses for a very long time and the plates weren't cleared away for a long time. Despite reservations, we were put in the "children's room" (we didn't have any with us), it was very, very drafty and cold and also dingy. So overall - no recommendation.

A small but super good buffet, always on Sundays. Otherwise the food and service is also very good 👍.

My review got for some reason unpublished and blocked, i believe the owner or someone else requested it so they can hide the truth. This is my old review from summer 2023: We were cruising throught Lübeck and saw this restaurant with quite many options on the menu… from Pizza to Tikka Masala. Because of that we decided to go there. The food was actually nice and enjoyable but we ordered as a drink Guinness beer. We havent noticed at first but when one of us almost finished the drink, we saw there was flies in our glasses. Experience like that makes you uncomfortable and unwell. I know i wont have the guts to drink guinness for another 20 years. Iam rating it with 2 stars because the food was allright, other than that having small flies in your tubes for beer shouldnt really happen. Edit:The waiter didnt think of asking us for refund for the beers and just brought us new ones... those were really difficult to sip... But as i said i wrote this in 2023 so it might have definitely changed, (and i hope it did) therefore i wouldnt base opinion about the restaurant of this review and perhaps gave it a try.

Great buffet. You can try everything in peace and quiet. Really delicious. Super nice and fast. We were there with 4 people and everyone was thrilled. Always my pleasure.

....TIPASA ....like in old times... now with an Indian focus, but the delicious pizzas are also still available ....everything is very tasty and in the atmosphere that has been used for decades (but renovated) ...and probably the last place where you can still get Altbierbowle!

Wir hatten keinen Tisch reserviert und trotzdem wurde uns umgehend ein Tisch abgeräumt und gereinigt. Getränke und Essen kamen zügig. Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich. Wir hatten Flammkuchen mit Feigen und feta und den Tandoori Grillteller. Beides war köstlich. Das Tandoori Fleisch war super zart und d gut gewürzt. Zwar für den ein oder anderen völlig unpassend tranken wir dazu leckeres Guinness und Kilkenny vom Fass. Für uns war es ein spontan grandioses Essen und Trinken, trotz des adventlichens Trubels in den Straßen, hier sehr ruhig!

Was placed in a room where there was only my entourage. It took a long time before we could order. We were allowed to drink, but then they forgot about us. After about 1 hour they came to take the order again. What happened to the first one? Then they disappeared again. Long. We got food, it was good but not authentically strong as we requested. They are severely understaffed, have too little attention towards the customer. We will not visit them again.

The waitress successfully ignored us. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. A cocktail non-alcoholic 0.2 €6.90, absolutely unacceptable. Despite a reservation, the table was not wiped down. The food was tasty, but unfortunately the price was not acceptable for what was on the plate. Too bad! We used to come here a lot and it was always great. Our conclusion we will not go here again.

Food and service are OK Prices are now quite expensive

I've been there again for years. We had great expectations because we found a certificate for “best restaurant” displayed in the dining room. Food was OK. But if lasagna and pizza are seasoned with dried herbs, it simply takes down the taste. And why don't all chairs have cushions?!

On Sundays almost all of the restaurants in Lübeck are closed, so tipasa, tried it out again after years, unfortunately we had to go through the whole restaurant 3 times because there was no service. The tandoori mixed grill had rice without sauce, which we then ordered , my wife ordered 3 starters, there were 2 of the same salad with ready-made dressing and 3 of the same mint dip, the pakoras had a lavish layer of breading that was difficult to overcome, yes, you can still get main courses for under 20 euros, the situation is great, but eating with fun is something else..

Different than before, but still good, food was very good, prices were also right, although there wasn't much going on on Monday evening

My friend and I spontaneously went to Tipasa yesterday (September 13th, 2024) in the evening. I used to come here often when I still lived in Lübeck!! Since I really like Buddhas and find wall painting interesting, I immediately felt at home❤️. My friend found the facility interesting 🤔. We were greeted very nicely and had free choice of seats. We got our drink in a timely manner, as we were a bit overwhelmed and because the selection of food was quite large, it took a little longer to place our order, while the shop was filling up. After we ordered our food, it took about 15 minutes before we had our dish. It was sooooo delicious, the spiciness wasn't that much but not that little either, just right!!! But I have to deduct half a point... When we were finished eating, the plates were not cleared away, even though the waitress walked past us very often. I'm a restaurateur myself, and even if you have a lot to do, you can clear away the plates when you're on your way to the kitchen anyway. But still come back... ❤️

I was with a large group (about 40 people). I defined the LambTikka more as chicken. The naan was good. The tikka with rocket didn't go well, sauce and vegetables were missing. Despite pre-ordering, we sometimes had to wait almost 2 hours for the food. Service totally overwhelmed, but friendly. Facility already rocked down. I didn't understand the concept either, cave paintings and Buddha on the wall. The menu was really huge: Indian, Italian, German cuisine. Definitely something for everyone. I ordered Indian because I assumed that the owners might come out of the room. The food was okay and if my lamb had been recognizable, there would have been at least 3 stars for my meal. An attempt was made to merge the different cuisines, but unfortunately it didn't work out well. The tip for larger groups and pre-orders: reduce the selection of dishes to a maximum of 5 dishes that are easy to prepare, then the preparation is easier and the waiting time is shortened. Use the tandoor oven for traditional dishes - preferably not so spicy for the German palate. If you reduce your card, the quality will not deteriorate proportionally, even when there are larger crowds.

Came across this restaurant by chance while walking by on our day trip to Lubeck. Portions are big food is tasty chicken mango curry and the chicken korma are very taste and you can feel the spices. Staff is polite.

We were in Lübeck for a short vacation today and came across the shop by chance. I would like to give the Chicken Tikka more than 5 stars. And my wife's burrito was great too. We were super happy with everything and the waiter was very friendly. Therefore 5 stars

On a city trip to Lübeck on a Sunday, we ended up at Tipasa because we were hungry and apparently no other restaurant in the area was open. I've usually had bad experiences with restaurants that have such an extensive menu. In addition, since staying in India for several years, I simply can't eat in "German" Indian restaurants anymore because the food usually doesn't taste authentic or isn't really what it should be. Example: You order biryani, but are served pulao, and sambar turns into a thick lentil soup that has absolutely nothing to do with sambar... We ended up ordering two different tandoor dishes with chicken to avoid terribly creamy sauces, and we were very impressed. My tandoori chicken tasted almost the same as in India, only the sauces/chutneys that are usually served with it were missing. The rice was great, the naan was ok because it was more like pizza bread, the portions were more than sufficient. The waitresses were friendly, but we had to wait a long time for our food, almost an hour, even though there were hardly any guests in the restaurant other than us. Presumably it was freshly marinated when ordered. In any case, we left the Tipasa full and satisfied, hence 5 stars.

4 stars because of the delicious tarte flambée and nice service. Unfortunately, both inside and outside are very “out of date”. Simply cleaning up the plants here and there and using paint and a brush could help. Better yet...replace some furniture. If it doesn't bother you, just sit in the courtyard.

The food is simply delicious! We come here often and are thrilled every time. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the feel of the restaurant is great :) (I particularly like the paintings on the walls🤭) As already mentioned, the food there is great and the service is always great

Quite nice inside, unfortunately not very clean outside in the courtyard, tables are not wiped down either. Service tried hard. Food good, but if you order not so spicy and a little spicy and then you get spicy and very spicy... It was still edible, but we didn't taste much of the delicious lamb. A pity

Service poor and rude and overwhelmed when the store is full. Half an hour later I asked very friendly if we could give a confirmation, the answer was the same, we then got up.

I reserved a table in the backyard for my friend's birthday to surprise him. Unfortunately, the backyard table was extremely dirty and in poor condition, so we had to change seats. Additionally, they failed to prepare the cake and candle I had requested. Their unprofessional behaviour embarrassed me!

The food isn't bad at all. Nothing special either. However, the service is extremely unreliable, both by telephone, in person and via the Internet, which is why we unfortunately no longer order here.

Haven't been there for a long time and was pleasantly surprised. In contrast to many other restaurants, here you get large portions at acceptable prices: The main courses cost €18 each, large drinks around €5, extra bread €4 = €73 for three people. The menu also includes a wide variety of dishes at lower prices.

The pizza tasted good, the service was very friendly

The food was good and plentiful. However, I expected something different with the burrito. For me there shouldn't be any zucchini or mushrooms in it, and the vegetable content was very high and it didn't taste Mexican, it's more of a scalloped vegetable pocket with an Indian touch. The other dish in the picture was fried vegetable balls (my companion was satisfied).

Essen war nicht übel. Der Service miserabel. Es dauerte ewig. Essen kam nach 1,5 Stunden. Ein Kellner war für alles zuständig. Er gab an, dass alles der Reihe nach abgearbeitet wird. Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass ich diese desolaten Zustände erlebt habe.

I've known Tipasa for ages. The two of us went there to eat and chat. It's still cozy, not very busy today. Choosing places, I was noticed immediately. Very friendly with menu and drink (mangolassi - more like a dessert...) The menu is extremely extensive and more Indian than Italian (yes, there is pizza). We both ate a delicious pot of meat in sauce and super grainy, delicious rice. Before that, papadam with Knofi to be patient. It's been a long time since I went home so satisfied; the waiting time for the food flew by while we were talking. I find the quality of the food to be recommended. If you don't have the patience to wait a while for your food, go to McDonalds.

We left after 90 minutes without eating. The reserved table was still occupied. The waiters and kitchen staff had to dry dishes because there weren't enough. As a result, no food was brought out, orders were taken or tables were cleared. Since we had something to do after visiting the restaurant, we paid for the drinks after 90 minutes in the restaurant and left. No idea when the food would have been ready. We were able to observe a table being given the wrong food for the third time and the food sitting on the counter for 20 minutes until it was brought to the guest. A real shame.

Über das Ambiente kann ich nichts sagen. Wir hatten online Essen bestellt. Bestellbestätigung und Lieferbestätigung per Mail erhalten . Erst auf meinen Anruf hin, nachdem ich 20 Minuten über die Lieferzeit hinaus gewartet hatte, wurde mir gesagt, dass sie heute nicht liefern!! Unverschämtheit!!

Loading empty took 12 minutes Waiting for 2 drinks. Sex on the Beach and Pina Colada. Unfortunately they tasted like fruit juice. Without alcohol, which should be included. For 1 glass 8 euros too expensive. The store was great when I was younger, but unfortunately things have changed for the worse.

Grosse Überraschung. Die bestellten Indischen Gerichte waren extrem Lecker, wie in Indien. Ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Wir kommen jetzt öfter, garantiert.

Die Gerichte vom Tandori war zwar lecker, aber die Portion leider recht klein. Satt sind wir davon nicht geworden. Außerdem mussten wir ewig warten, bis wir endlich das Essen bestellen konnten, das macht nämlich ein extra Kellner, und dann hat es noch fast 1 Stunde gedauert, bis das Essen gebracht wurde. Sorry, aber lecker ist nicht alles. Der Rest hat leider nicht so gepasst.
